TNT Swiss Post worked closely with the construction company to 
ensure environmentally friendly elements were implemented
The facility features a district heating system
and sound insulation made from recycled materials
the new headquarters are close to the intersection of three main highways
giving TNT Swiss Post fast access to all our national and international routes
height adjustable sorting systems and platforms
and daylight friendly spaces improve the health and safety standards for the team members
The current pandemic has slowed down economic activities
according to the Swiss e-commerce report 2020*
e-commerce in Switzerland is predicted to grow between 22% and 30% in 2020 compared to 2019
The demand for fast shipping solutions is increasing and the new premises allow for future expansions to meet our customers’ demands

New business to be led by former Biesterfeld executive Carsten Harms
a Swiss producer of essential minerals and distributor of speciality materials
has launched a new business specialising in polymer distribution
Omya Performance Polymer Distribution will combine the company’s existing global polymer distribution footprint with “strategic acquisitions” to serve the “rapidly evolving market,” Omya announced 4 Dec
Such acquisitions include the recent purchase of Distrupol
Ireland and the Nordic countries which had recently expanded into continental Europe
The transaction is subject to regulatory approvals and closing conditions and is expected to complete in the first quarter of 2025
the new business will be led by Carsten Harms
a former executive board member of German distributor Biesterfeld Group
including head of Biesterfeld Plastic and Biesterfeld Performance Rubber divisions
“This strategic acquisition enables us to deliver greater value to customers and principals,” said Harms
provides customers with “the stability

Omya’s portfolio includes rubber and tire chemicals

World’s 2nd largest packaging manufacturer turns waste into cash
The packaging manufacturer <a href="https://www.dssmith.com/" target="_blank" rel="nofollow noopener">DS Smith</a> in Oftringen in Switzerland has replaced an almost 20-year-old baling press with a new model
DS Smith now earns more cash from carton waste as the new high performance baling press comes into action

the world’s second largest packaging manufacturer
has installed a new baling press in Oftringen
The press replaces an older model from 1998 and increases the capacity by one third to 18 tons of compacted carton waste per day
The previous press had reached the limit of what it could do
DS Smith had to deliver large quantities of carton in un-compacted form to external companies
All carton waste from the diecutting and blanking machines are taken via a conveyor belt to the new press and compacted to market compliant bales with a weight of approximately 415 kilos
The company earns money for every ton of old carton-board which DS Smith can deliver in bale format
A frequency converter is built into the controls of the new press
which regulates the press’s operating performance dynamically in relation to the amount of carton waste going to the press
Christian Finkl describes the baling press as
the “‘heart of our production,’ If it isn’t in operation
then nothing can be produced.” The time frame that Christian Finkl gave Hunkeler Systeme AG for the removal of the old plant and the installation of the new was extremely tight
the new press had to be ready for production by 3 January 2018

Hunkeler Systeme managed to meet the deadline with ease
The new baling press went into operation punctually at 4 a.m

Samuel Schatzmann is a lawyer and enterpreneur by profession
but also manages a private dressage barn with 12 horses in Oftringen
because I think she is an extraordinary good and horse-friendly trainer," Dr
adding that "Lisa will be training my sport horses at the farm."
Schatzmann is an accomplished dressage rider himself
having ridden at various Swiss dressage championships
he won team silver at the 1988 Olympic Games in Seoul
team bronze at the1989 European Championships in Luxembourg and team bronze at the 1990 World Championships in Stockholm
"Since 1989 I'm also a dressage judge," Schatzmann said
"since 1989 I judge the big tour and I since 2000 I have become an FEI candidate."
Schatzmann has 10 own sport horses between the age of 4 and 11 which Lisa will be training
