In a press release published on Sunday
Geneva’s Industrial Services (SIG) warned residents of Thônex
and Cologny — about 40,000 people in all — not to drink their tap water
That’s because a pipe supplying water to these neighbourhoods had burst
tap water should not be consumed by either humans or animals
as well as for washing fruits and vegetables
Health risks of ingesting this contaminated water “include vomiting
it is recommended to consult your doctor."
Bacteriological analyses will take several days
SIG has installed 12 drinking water supply points in the affected areas
which will remain operational until tap water is declared safe to drink
Residents must bring their own containers to get drinking water
from one of these points; their location is shown in this map:

the UCKG opened its newest headquarters in Geneva
The church has been in the country for 17 years
under the name of “Centre d’Accueil Universel” (Universal Help Centre)
with a population of about 8 million people and is one of the richest countries in the world
Switzerland has one of the highest suicide rates – about 1,400 people per year – which is the second highest in the world
This has turned into a major concern of many institutions because these levels have been increasing
the UCKG is working and studying the best way to contribute in the fight against this plight that has taken so many lives
Bishop Vitor Silva has been responsible for the evangelistic work in the country since January of this year
Meetings are held in the country’s three official languages: French
Out of all the foreign communities in Switzerland
the Portuguese speaking community is considered the largest
there are six churches that are opened daily in the country and one that opens twice a week
in the following cities: Geneva – Thônex has meetings in French and Portuguese (this is where our new headquarters is located)
Geneva (center) has meetings in French and Portuguese (former headquarters)
Zurich – has meetings in German and Portuguese
Lausanne – has meetings in French and Portuguese
Lugano – in Italian and Portuguese and Basel – in Portuguese
The new church began holding daily meetings as of the 15th of September 2010 and is located in Geneva
The main difficulty that the UCKG has encountered in performing its work in the country has been in regards to the evangelization
because it’s forbidden to advertise or hand out religious pamphlets in the street
but all this has been overcome through faith
The following are pictures of a special service held on September 26th at the new headquarters in Geneva
Indeed we are to enter this battle at all costs..
how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things
( Including the baptism of the Holy Spirit).so don't lose hope.God bless

After the attacks in Paris last night, where according to lemonde.fr at least 128 are dead and 180 wounded the French government decided to control France’s borders
border controls have been strengthened between France and Geneva
the main motorway entry point from France to Geneva
There are three French customs officials systematically checking those entering French territory
One is wearing a bullet proof vest and is armed with an automatic weapon
Someone in charge said that “instructions are coming from Paris”
Some motorists on the Swiss side fear that once in France they won’t be able to get back into Switzerland
It appears that a total closure of the border is not envisaged at the moment
This morning traffic in Geneva is moving smoothly
Tribune de Genève noted that no one was posted at customs at Perly Saint-Julien around 8 am this morning
At Geneva Airport someone reported that there were two pair of police officers with machine guns and bullet proof vests patrolling the building
However the airport was functioning normally
At 10 am there was nothing notable happening at the border at Moillesulaz
no French customs officials and no police officers
There are 33 road border points between Geneva and France of which only three are permanently manned: Bardonnex
