dedicated to exploring the opportunities and benefits of the Economic Partnership Agreements (EPAs) between Cameroon and the European Union (EU)
organized by the Central Africa Regional Integration and Investment Support Program (Pairac) in collaboration with the National Committee for Monitoring and Implementing the Cameroon-EU EPA
brought together a wide range of stakeholders
and representatives from international organizations were all present
The workshop provided a platform for several informative discussions
Among the key topics were the presentation of the EPA and the customs exemptions it involves
as well as a deep dive into rules of origin
and the synergy between the EPA and the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA)
One of the highlights of the event was the experience-sharing session by Proleg
a vegetable production company based in Bandjoun
Proleg was one of the winners of the inaugural "EPA Award," which recognizes companies that have most effectively leveraged the EPAs signed between African countries and the EU
The company received this prestigious award on July 5
the Bafoussam workshop is part of a broader series of activities aimed at supporting the successful implementation of the EPA
These initiatives align with Pairac's goals
which aim to increase the number of local businesses
particularly small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs)
large companies are the primary beneficiaries of the EPA
Data from Cameroon’s customs services show that over the five years of the agreement's implementation (2016-2020)
which has gradually opened Cameroon’s market to 80% of EU imports—while providing full exemptions for Cameroonian exports to the EU—large businesses have captured 86% of the fiscal benefits generated by the EPA
Medium-sized enterprises have captured 13%
while the remaining 1% has been distributed among other beneficiaries

already exposed to emotional realities that are difficult to manage for his age
A community in shockThis tragedy caused a shockwave in Bafoussam and the surrounding region
The local population expressed both sadness and incomprehension in the face of this exceptionally serious act

As the central African country grapples with the devastating effects of the Anglophone Crisis
Janefrancis Kinyuy is defying all odds to provide education and a home to hundreds of displaced and orphaned children in this northwest town
lawyers and students from the Anglophone population
most of whom live in the country's northwest and southwest regions
demanding educational and judicial system reforms
They called for the inclusion of English and French in the government's service delivery and institutions
The government used force against the protesters
leading to the full-blown outbreak of armed conflict
violence and radicalization among the Anglophone speakers
According to the International Crisis Group report, the struggle has killed more than 6,000 people, displaced 765,000 people and left 2.2 million people from English-speaking regions in need of humanitarian support. The latest report United Nations Children's Fund
shows that the ban on education imposed by Anglophone separatists in the northwest and southwest regions has affected more than 600,000 children
threatened and killed teachers and students who dare to go to school
amid the ongoing civil war and political strife
Kinyuy struggles to balance keeping children safe
providing education and being the hope needed for society despite the challenges
and people are always running away from their homes to look for safety
so they come to us for shelter and security
is pictured with other sisters at the Imperial Botanical Beach Hotel during the All-Africa Conference: Sister to Sister convening in Entebbe
GSR: Tell us about yourself and the work you do
Kinyuy: I am (32) years old and have six years of religious life in our congregation. I am the vice principal of St. Paul's English Catholic College Dschang
where we take care of the internally displaced children from the northwest and southwest regions of the country because of the country's sociopolitical crisis
It is not easy because there is a lack of means to cater to these children
I am a professional teacher and have been teaching at St
Paul's English Catholic College Dchang for two years
Paul's English Catholic College Dschang provides primary and secondary education to children orphaned and displaced as a result of the ongoing civil war
We are planning to start tertiary education in the future to help these children succeed in their lives
Our congregation opened the institution in 2009 to meet the community's education needs
The region had only two schools during that time
although children did not attend school that much
our school was built with the capacity to accommodate a small number of students who were interested in learning
The number the school could accommodate was 450 students
the number doubled from 450 to over 1,000 students because the majority of children turned to the school as the only safe place they could stay since the armed groups and security forces rarely attack missionary schools and institutions
The majority of internally displaced children in this region live in our institution
We also cater to the psychological aspect of these children
Most of these children are traumatized by the time they come here
The majority of them witnessed the deaths of their parents and family members
Paul's English Catholic College Dschang are pictured outside their school compound in Dschang
a town in the northwestern region of Cameroon
Janefrancis Kinyuy is vice principal of the school
which provides primary and secondary education to children orphaned and displaced as a result of the ongoing civil war
and we have to help these children who have been displaced and are suffering
We also have a problem with diseases in these areas
Some of the children here are dying randomly because of a lack of good health care and medical attention
Some parents are too poor to care for their children
and they are forced to abandon them without care
Being a religious sister in this region is also a challenge because the expectations from locals are too high to achieve
Most people expect us to have a solution to every problem they face
Another challenge is feeding children seeking shelter at our institution and providing them with water
the water point is very far away in this place. You have to travel about 45 kilometers on foot under the hot sun to have water. From the same well
but then we have no choice because we can only use what we have
We also have a problem with congestion since the dormitory capacity is small
and the number of children seeking shelter is enormous
we are forced to host some of the parents and students in our convent
How does the Holy Spirit work in your ministry
I feel that the Holy Spirit is undoubtedly working in my ministry because despite the challenges we go through as sisters in this region
The students in our institutions are healthy and doing well in their education despite the limitations
I also get people who come in with donations to help these children
community members give us food to feed these children
which I continue to appreciate and give thanks to God
Many of these children are alive today despite going through stress and trauma after losing their parents and members of their family due to the ongoing civil war. This is a miracle
and it makes me feel that the Holy Spirit is working in these children’s lives
Taking care of these children despite their different family backgrounds and different characters and being able to live together with love at the institution is a blessing
having good health and wisdom to care for these children whom God has entrusted under my care is a gift of the Holy Spirit
we turn to God for everything. I always try to organize masses for these children. By praying the novena prayer
we get consolation and hope for a solution to the ongoing crisis
The patience and courage we get from the sisters at this institution is our biggest success and encouragement
Sleeping with our challenges and waking up to solve one problem at a time is a significant breakthrough because you have to smile
The smiling faces of the children we help are a great source of joy in my heart
and to make a child smile is success on its own
team spirit and collaboration from them is like living the Gospel of Christ

In a video that has been widely shared online in recent hours
mayor of the Bafoussam I commune in the West Region
officially announced his departure from the Social Democratic Front (SDF)
"The divorce with the SDF is pronounced and final," he declared
emphasizing that his decision was not impulsive
“This is an opportunity for me to inform the public and the people of Bafoussam I that I believe in what I am doing,” Ngnang added
reinforcing his commitment to his political path
Though his reasons for leaving the SDF were not fully detailed
Ngnang hinted at internal conflicts that had worn down his patience
I have no choice but to seek refuge in another political family," he explained
When contacted by SBBC for further clarification
insisting that "what is said in the video is sufficient." However
he indicated that more statements on the matter are forthcoming
"No one forces me to speak; I control my own communications."
commented that Ngnang's departure was foreseeable
Ngnang was among the 27 party executives who gathered in Mbouda in June 2022 to demand the resignation of John Fru Ndi
These executives accused Fru Ndi of abandoning the core values of resistance that once made the SDF popular
Most of these dissenters were later expelled from the party
his position within the party became increasingly untenable
Ngnang has promised to reveal the name of the political party he plans to join before the end of November
Rumors in Bafoussam suggest that he may be preparing to align with the Rassemblement Démocratique du Peuple Camerounais (CPDM)
"He actively participated in organizing the screening of the documentary film Paul Biya
which was promoted by RDPC officials," the source disclosed
Ngnang left the door open to various possibilities
hinting that he may either join the ruling party or align with another opposition group
or even explore a new political direction altogether
Cyrille Ngnang’s departure from the SDF highlights ongoing fractures within the party
especially following the leadership of John Fru Ndi
The rifts within the party over its direction have led to a loss of prominent members
particularly those who were dissatisfied with Fru Ndi's perceived departure from the party's foundational ideals
would reflect a broader trend of political pragmatism seen in Cameroon
where opposition figures often realign with the ruling party as a strategic move to maintain influence

the child was luckily rescued 48 hrs later by farmers who heard his cries in an abandoned fram house
The Chief of anti criminality brigade revealed that the suspect took advantage of a moment of distraction in the family to take the child away

(Business in Cameroon) - Cameroon Beverages Company (SABC) has announced yesterday the launch of a new bottling line at its Bafoussam plant
will have a capacity of 35,000 glass bottles per hour
The local subsidiary of the French group Castel specifies that this new line incorporates "all the latest technologies in online control and optimal bottling conditions."
The Bafoussam plant currently has a capacity of 1.49 million hectoliters (1.2 million hectoliters in glass and 290,000 hectoliters in PET
polyethylene terephthalate used to package carbonated beverages)
will allow the retirement of the aging chain 4 (after 36 years of loyal service) and will have a significant impact on quality and productivity: the glass capacity of the plant will thus increase to 1.6 million hectoliters with optimizations planned in beer production," explains the company

Women weave Ndop design with raffia fibers at a shop in Bafoussam
and knitting have always been an outlet for women to utilize their creativity
Ndop fabric was originally made by women and was an important symbol of social status and cultural heritage but today - in a different way - it is enhancing the lives of women.(Xinhua/Kepseu)
March 8 (Xinhua) -- In an unassuming building in Bafoussam
Therese Yommo carefully decorates a fabric with patterns
The 64-year-old is a specialist in the fabrication of Ndop
a remarkable Cameroonian cloth that embodies fashion
Yommo didn't think she would amount to much
She traditionally spent her days doing household chores - collecting water from the borehole
But that changed when her mother taught her how to embroider Ndop fabric
(But today) I take care of my children and grandchildren and send them to school
I also take care of myself (thanks to Ndop)," said the widower and mother of six
Ndop fabric was originally made by women and was an important symbol of social status and cultural heritage but today - in a different way - it is enhancing the lives of women
The traditional textile is helping to tackle poverty and empower women in the garment manufacturing industry by creating an ecosystem of hundreds of self-employed female micro-entrepreneurs
Yommo said she's already trained over 40 women in the business and fabrication of Ndop fabric
When Xinhua visited Yommo's shop called Magni Yom's Shopping
two women sat demurely with a fabric unrolled on their laps
practicing their newly-acquired embroidery skills
That's why I was interested (to learn about the profession)," said the 54-year-old mother of three
Mebeyi used to run a small cafe business but as she aged
she could no longer get up every morning at 4:00 to prepare and sell until the opportunity to learn about Ndop came
"I wanted to learn a trade that I can teach my children and grandchildren," she said
adding that even after two years of learning she is still a novice because the production process is labor-intensive
involving several stages that sometimes run up to six months
But such a long period of production is worthwhile
given the durability and traditional significance of the fabric
said 58-year-old Helen Youte who was practicing with Mebeyi
Youte switched from her restaurant business to Ndop fabric
I have sent them to school and I take care of my small needs
It has changed my life," said the mother of six
48-year-old Philippe Guy Kammogne has made it a point of duty to empower women through Ndop fabric
is a respected Ndop producer: he trained all his 94 children on how to embroider Ndop and now his son
"We have trained women not to always wait for men to provide daily bread," said Kammogne
When Xinhua visited his modest workshop in the Lagweu neighborhood of Baham
"If I am the only one providing for my family and if tomorrow I am not there
she could make that a profession which can help her take care of herself and children even in my absence," Kammogne said
"The future is bright for all women who have the courage to fabricate Ndop," added his wife
said Rostanie Djifack who sells the fabric at Marche B in Bafoussam
"We can make a lot of things out of Ndop fabric including caps
and so on," said the 20-year-old who said selling Ndop fabric has improved her standard of living
"At first young people were not interested in the fabric
An item of Ndop can cost up to about 150 US dollars depending on the size
Ndop has been classified as a Cameroonian national heritage by the Ministry of Arts and Culture

(Business in Cameroon) - The city of Bafoussam
launched on February 27 a digital campaign - Invest in Bafoussam- to attract diaspora investment
This initiative aims to highlight the city's economic potential
A dedicated landing page has been created for the diaspora and will be extensively promoted by influencers
and officials from the Bafoussam Urban Community
The online platform outlines the city’s needs
and incentives provided by the Urban Community to motivate the diaspora to contribute
The city hall assures that a dedicated team is in place to respond promptly to inquiries from the diaspora
defined as "any citizen of Cameroonian origin living outside Bafoussam or Cameroon
who are willing to contribute to the city’s development and the well-being of its people."
This digital campaign is part of the "Invest in Diaspora" program
Africa's first startup specializing in mobilizing African diasporas and ethno-marketing
supported by the International Association of Francophone Mayors (AIMF)
The program aims to train and support 100 African cities in 24 countries on how to engage their diaspora digitally
The strategic goal is to equip cities with the necessary expertise to reposition themselves concerning the diaspora as key players in local development
The initiative comes as the Cameroonian diaspora's remittances emerge as a stable financial boon
potentially contributing effectively to macroeconomic stability and national economic needs
remittances from Cameroonian migrants to their home country totaled $365 million (over CFA221 billion) in 2022
marking an increase of about 5% from $350 million in 2021
While these remittances are smaller than those of other African diasporas
which accounts for 38% of total migrant remittances to Sub-Saharan Africa
they represent a significant economic resource that Bafoussam aims to harness as a catalyst for its development

2023 shows different steps of water treatment in the water treatment plant in Bafoussam
March 22 (Xinhua) -- The Banengo neighborhood in Bafoussam
used to be notorious for a water crisis where water quality in the area was poor and supply was irregular
Such a difficult situation in the neighborhood where Laurence Wandji lives caused her children to wake up as early as 4:00 a.m
Water scarcity was dire not only in Banengo but all of the Mifi division where Bafoussam is located
regional manager of the state-run Cameroon Water Utilities Corporation (CAMWATER)
"There were certain neighborhoods where water was supplied just once a week," Leudjeu said
things began to change for the better when Chinese construction company CGCOC Group arrived in 2014 and set out to construct a water treatment plant and related facilities which could produce 10,000 cubic meters of water daily
The company also began constructing two water towers
with the biggest having a capacity of 1,500 cubic meters
marking the end of the first phase of the project supported by Chinese funding
The biggest water tower was built just a few meters from Wandji's home
she was busy fetching water to prepare an evening meal
"Since the construction of the new water tower
the water supply has improved significantly
We can easily manage our daily activities which require water
Children are in security now because they no longer trek long distances to fetch water," said the 41-year-old teacher at a primary school
said that access to drinking water in quantity and quality is no longer a major challenge for her household
"Water is not only available but also clean
it was yellowish," said the 42-year-old mother of four
"Water is life," said 32-year-old Gabain Dizeu
whose pregnant wife used to risk her life by getting up early in the morning to fetch unsafe water from a distant well
but with the coming of the new water factory (plant)
things have ameliorated," said the father of two who lives in the Kamkop neighborhood of Bafoussam
Leudjeu said the flagship project was essentially meant to improve water production and supply
"This plant has increased our production capacity by 30 percent
This has helped to reinforce water supply not only in Bafoussam but also to peripheral towns," Leudjeu said
adding that the project targets more than 500,000 people
the project also ensured the transfer of knowledge and competence
some staff members of CAMWATER also had the chance to travel to China to acquire more knowledge in water management and maintenance
who is now Head of Maintenance of CAMWATER in the West Region
I applied the knowledge not only here in Metchie but also in other plants in the West Region
We had a very good relationship (with Chinese workers)
They were always available when needed," the 29-year-old told Xinhua during a visit to the plant
which is located in the Metchie locality of the region
Leudjeu said the project not only improved the sanitary conditions of local residents
and promoted employment and economic growth
but also cemented Sino-Cameroonian relations
"This project was key in the amelioration of standards of living for the population in the West Region
It confirms the fact Cameroon is working hand in hand with China," he said
said the current water production still falls short of meeting the total water demand in the region
and hoped that phase two of the project could be rolled out to impact more people

This phase will receive funding of €20 million (CFA 13 billion) and aims to enhance urban infrastructure and improve living conditions in the cities of Bafoussam (West)
"The program will include market improvements
the construction of a bus station in Bertoua
and supplementary water access facilities in Garoua," stated the French Development Agency (AFD) in a release on Tuesday
These projects aim to bolster the attractiveness and viability of the three cities
supporting their economic development and improving residents' quality of life
which mobilized €125 million (CFA 82 billion) for the same regional capitals
The Debt Reduction-Development Contract (C2D) program is a key initiative in Franco-Cameroonian cooperation
transforming part of Cameroon’s debt to France into funding for development projects
this program has evolved through three phases (2006
targeting various sectors such as agriculture
Initially focusing on Douala (Littoral) and Yaoundé (Center)
the program expanded to regional capitals under "C2D Urban Regional Capitals" to improve basic service access in Bafoussam
and later to Bamenda (North-West) and Maroua (Far North) under CR2
The first phase of CR1 saw progress in rehabilitating infrastructure and enhancing basic services in Bafoussam
The second phase focuses on extending and consolidating these gains
providing additional infrastructure solutions to strengthen the urban capacities of the beneficiary cities

MAY 9, 2023 — Seven gay men, four lesbians and two trans women deserve to be set free in Cameroon and Nigeria, where they are locked up for whom they love. You can help open the prison doors and let them out.
Those 13 imprisoned victims of anti-LGBTQ hostility and homophobia are the focus of this year’s Project Not Alone
which expands on the project’s previous work that won early release for 24 gay
lesbian and trans prisoners in Cameroon during the years 2019 through 2022
This year’s financial goal is $11,891
which will pay the prisoners’ fines and provide lawyers (working pro-bono) for detainees who are being held pending a trial
It will also pay for hygiene supplies and supplementary food for prisoners during the months while they await release from their dirty prison cells
whether those goals are accomplished will depend on the generosity of readers and other donors
The prisoners in Project Not Alone this year are incarcerated in Mfou and Bafoussam
Their stories will be told here in the days and weeks ahead
a pseudonym will be used for every detainee
LGBTI rights activist Steeves Winner received an invitation from the organization SOS Solidarity
which advocates for victims of violence in western Cameroon
He traveled to Bafoussam to deliver food (rice
and food paste) and interview eight LGBTI detainees in the prison there
Seven of them met the requirements of Project Not Alone: They were incarcerated for nothing other than their sexual orientation
Winner found that the eighth detainee at Bafoussam Prison was accused of raping a minor
Winner made food deliveries to LGBTQ detainees at the Mfou prison outside Cameroon’s capital
In his interviews there found four victims of Cameroon’s homophobia and lesbophobia:
In addition to those 11 LGBTQ Cameroonians
this year’s Project Not Alone also includes two LGBTQ Nigerians:
two transgender Nigerians were arrested at their hair salon in Port Harcourt
Because they were charged with homosexuality
they face a 14-year prison sentence if they are convicted
They have no attorney and no money for bail
The Care & Dignity Foundation, a trans-led advocacy group in Port Harcourt, notified LGBT activist Mike Daemon about their situation. Daemon is publisher of the LGBT web site NoStringsNG and a board member of the St. Paul’s Foundation for International Reconciliation
which is the financial sponsor of Project Not Alone
the project agreed to raise money to pay an attorney who will work for the two trans detainees pro bono
He anticipates that they will be allowed to plead guilty in exchange for a short sentence and a fine — if Project Not Alone is able to pay on their behalf
Project Not Alone 2023 is seeking $11,891 to feed and free the 13 incarcerated men and women
This year’s initiative follows previous successful efforts on behalf of LGBTQ prisoners — initially in Yaoundé (food deliveries to three prisoners), in the northern Garoua area and in Bertoua in the east (food for six prisoners and early release after their fines were paid), then back in Yaoundé in 2021 and 2022 (food for 18 prisoners and early release after their fines were paid).

took part in the "Community Days of Islamic Finance-Cemac," held in Yaoundé from April 22 to 26
"We've come with four colleagues to understand how it works
If Islamic finance can provide us with funds and repayment flexibility
The event held under the theme "Mechanisms for Inclusive and Sustainable Development Financing of Decentralized Territorial Communities (CTDs) in Cameroon” aims to raise awareness among CTDs about understanding and mastering the Islamic finance process
addressing challenges faced by local territorial communities while strengthening local community resilience
president of African Islamic Finance Consulting (AIFC)
states that Islamic finance offers an alternative for municipalities struggling to access traditional financial markets
He emphasizes the role of CTDs in local economic development within Cameroon's ongoing decentralization process
One fundamental principle of Islamic finance
is the separation of Islamic banking activities from conventional banking
"Islamic finance is a globally recognized financial system that prioritizes human interests
The conventional system encourages lending money for interest
whereas Islamic finance encourages people to work
and share profits," says Louis Silvain Belibi Noah
Islamic finance encompasses transactions and financial products compliant with Quranic law
and adhering to profit and loss sharing principles
Islamic finance in Cameroon is still in its early stages
Only a few institutions like Afriland First Bank
and CCA Bank offer Islamic finance services
the government plans to open multiple lines of Islamic financing totaling CFA3 billion with local credit and microfinance institutions under its National Inclusive Finance Strategy (SNFI) 2023-2027
developed by the Ministry of Finance (Minfi)
(Business in Cameroon) - State-owned airlines Camair Co seems to be gradually recovering from its bad years
it will resume flights to and from Bafoussam
By resuming flights to that destination, Camair-Co is increasing the number of its domestic routes after an eight-month activity cessation (in 2020) due to financial constraints and the coronavirus pandemic
The resumption of the Bafoussam line comes almost two months after the carrier resumed flights to three northern destinations (Adamaoua
Camair Co is thus reinforcing its position on domestic routes
in compliance with the instructions given by the President of the Republic in late 2020
to focus solely on domestic flights to facilitate mobility in the country
The carrier now serves six of the country's ten regions
Before the activity cessation in 2020
the carrier was serving seven of the 10 regional capitals in Cameroon
and Buea (Southwest) were not served but now Bamenda (Northwest) has joined the list
Let’s note that the airlines’ financial situation has been deteriorating since the launch of its operations in 2011
its debt at the end of 2018 was XAF110 billion
with a provisional debt of XAF5 billion in 2019 and XAF12 billion in H1-2020
12 prisoners were freed through the efforts of Project Not Alone
which goes into prisons in Cameroon and Nigeria
finds unjustly incarcerated LGBTQ prisoners and works to set them free
The project was ready to assist a 13th prisoner
but he was apparently set free through his family’s influence
All 13 were victims of Cameroonian or Nigerian homophobia
None had been charged with anything other than homosexuality
Project Not Alone works this way: We publish the stories of innocent LGBTQ prisoners; raise money to buy supplemental food for them; pay legal expenses for attorneys working for them pro bono
if they have yet gone to trial; and pay their fines
which qualifies them to get out of prison early
Project Not Alone is sponsored by the Erasing 76 Crimes news site and the U.S.-based St
Paul’s Foundation for International Reconciliation
established and maintained contact with the LGBT prisoners at Bafoussam Prison
A total of 36 innocent prisoners have been freed by Project Not Alone since 2019:
(Accounts of those 17 prisoners are here. including a report on additional three prisoners who received supplemental food from us in 2018 but were not freed.)

The story of Sally and Martha is reposted here because of a technical glitch in the earlier version
The story of Martha and Sally has a happy ending
they had been living together peacefully in their African nation of Cameroon for three years
both are identified here with pseudonyms.) Then
neighbors in their housing development in the Bafoussam area of western Cameroon complained to police about them
But next-door neighbors were frustrated by repeatedly hearing the moans of love-making coming from the couple
so the neighbors pleaded with a municipal official to intervene
Police opened an investigation and called Martha and Sally in for questioning
When they refused to cooperate with that interrogation
police raided their home and arrested them on charges of homosexuality
fined 198,000 CFA francs each (about US $333 at the time)
and sentenced to a year in Bafoussam Prison
meant that they would have to spend an additional three months behind bars — unless generous donors intervened
Because they were locked up for no crime other than whom they loved
they qualified for assistance from this site’s Project Not Alone
which helps imprisoned victims of Cameroonian and Nigerian homophobia
The project depends on donations from readers to help LGBTQ prisoners
During the spring of 2023, the project agreed to take on the cases of Martha, Sally and 11 other innocent prisoners who qualified for the program. In May, we published an article about them and invited readers to donate to help pay their fines and purchase supplemental food
which is needed since prisoners in Cameroon are fed only one meal a day
Readers responded generously enough that Project Not Alone was able to pay their fines in July
That qualified them for release in December 2023 instead of in March 2024
an additional donation of $3,553 had arrived from the UK-based Attitude Foundation
which allowed Project Not Alone to accomplish many more of its objectives
Bafoussam’s local LGBTQ rights group
used $120 from us to buy and deliver food and hygiene items to Martha and Sally in prison
but that date came and went with no change
After SOS Solidarity and attorney Mbatat Stevins intervened
the strain of life in Bafoussam Prison had taken its toll on the couple’s relationship
an argument broke out between us about our future together
I’m an unlucky person and I’ve ruined her life because
Martha was released about an hour before me and she disappeared.”
“I’m doing well and I’d like to thank you once again for your support
I’m currently living with a new friend
I don’t know where she’s gone to this day
I went to see our old friends to see if they had seen her
I haven’t had the courage to go and see her family
but I’ve been told that she’s not there either.”
Sally is currently unemployed and is considering signing up for training as a hairdresser
