the company announced four different proof-of-concept add-ons that may or may not ever be released
There aren’t many details on the concepts yet
though the 2nd Display and Dual Display are the most straightforward
They’re meant for people who want a mobile multimonitor setup that doesn’t require a secondary device to plug in or keep charged
The 2nd Display is like attaching an 8-inch iPad Mini to your laptop
with a vertical orientation that could be great for social feeds and communication apps like Slack or Microsoft Teams
It has a panel with a 1920 x 1200-pixel resolution and 60Hz
which is plenty of resolution for a small screen
The Dual Display Concept takes the ThinkBook 16P Gen 6 and turns it into a triple-monitor setup
The two attachable displays are each 13.3 inches with 2880 x 1920-pixel resolution and 120Hz refresh
nearly as heavy as carrying a 13-inch MacBook Air with your ThinkBook
I saw this setup and the 2nd Display Concept in an early in-person preview
and while having a triple-monitor laptop seemed awesome
The Dual Display Concept was cumbersome to set up
the 2nd Display was easy to work with and felt like a no-brainer if it ever comes to market
I didn’t get to see them but they’re such different ideas sharing the same name
Lenovo doesn’t have many details yet on the Tiko Pro horizontal screen attachment
but having an additional display for widgets seems nifty
I bet its teleprompter function would sell many units on that sole feature
But the Tiko emoji friend looks like an absolute charmer
It’s a circular screen to display what Lenovo calls “a compact AI emotional interaction companion” that “helps users stay informed and engaged throughout their workday.” I’m all about emojis
and this is an emoji buddy you can attach to your laptop
I don’t know why the business-focused ThinkBook 16P Gen 6 is simultaneously the platform for multimonitor features for power users and a digital equivalent to an emotional support animal, but I’m here for it regardless. Let’s see if any of these concepts survive the cutting room floor.

Dogs like Siberian Huskies and Alaskan Malamutes are well known for their ability to pull their humans through the snow

It’s safe to say he slept well at night after an epic run like this
I know I’m feeling tired out just watching him
But he has some great motivation because he’s regularly photographed in the northern lights of Norway
I would also brave the elements for a view like his
Tiko’s majestic run had people enchanted. One shared, “Takes zoomies to another level!!” It sure does! Viewer @rena_tries_grooming responded, “Just imagining how good the fresh, cold air must feel on his clean face.” He makes the cold look inviting. Viewer @cleo.and.deborah remarked, “Tiko is on a superhero poodle mission!” All he needs is a cape because he has the spirit.
It might be as enjoyable for our dogs as it is for us to bundle them up and take them out for a winter run, especially with months of cold weather still ahead. Just as long as there’s a warm fire and a cup of cocoa to welcome us home at the end of the day.

Tiko is part of the range of Magic Bay accessories for the Lenovo ThinkBook 16p Gen 6
Although Lenovo is unveiling a number of new devices at MWC 2025
that’s not all the tech manufacturer is showcasing
which the firm is describing as a "compact AI emotional interaction companion."
Think of it a bit like a physical Microsoft Bob for the 21st century - Tiko is part of Lenovo’s Magic Bay ecosystem proof of concepts
which the company has developed for professionals using the ThinkBook 16p Gen 6
which is currently not available in North America
and Lenovo has gone all out with a series of attachable accessories
there’s the Magic Bay Dual Display Concept
This is a dual 13.3-inch attachable secondary screen that turns the ThinkBook 16p into a multi-screen workstation
Lenovo says this will be ideal for “data visualization
and collaborative projects” and allows users to view multiple applications simultaneously without needing an external monitor
there’s the Magic Bay 2nd Display Concept
This is a compact 8-inch screen intended to function as an AI dashboard for on-the-go professionals
It will provide quick access to productivity tools
Getting back to the Magic Bay “codename Tiko” concept
Lenovo describes it as a “compact AI emotional interaction companion that displays real-time emoji-style status
provides interactive gesture-based responses
and offers personalized emoji notifications.” It has an expressive AI interface
to help users stay informed and engaged throughout their workday

we lived an average life,” recalls Vivian
“We could feed our families and loved ones
Vivian and her four children fled without knowing which direction to take
“We were just walking and looking for a safe place to stay for few hours,” she says
they found themselves in Befang where Vivian was able to rent a car and drive to the regional capital
since they had neither relatives nor friends who could offer them shelter
Vivian was able to find a way to travel to Tiko in Cameroon’s Southwest region
where a relative was kind enough to accommodate her and her children
and it was not easy for our hosts to receive us.”
“I had to sell chin-chin [a deep-fried
crunchy snack] and groundnuts to try to put something on the table,” she says
but they were not paying us and things were not moving.”
When asked how she survived these conditions
she mentioned that neighbours and friends of her hosts were worried about her
and used to stop by and lend a hand from time to time
Vivian lacked the means to send her children to school
“They didn’t attend school for almost three years,” she says
“Neither I nor my host had the means to pay for their schooling
Vivian has always been a strong and engaged woman with a lot of determination
she started working on farms to sell vegetables at the market
“I was working on one lady’s farm and things were not going as smoothly as I wished,” she says
I could make XAF 10,000 a month [equivalent to USD 16]
while other times it might be only XAF 5,000
I was also continuing my chin-chin business that was giving me some extra income.”
Displaced people and their host communities in Cameroon
especially in the Northwest and Southwest regions
The high level of insecurity in these two regions
flooding and a rise in competition over natural resources
continue to have a severe impact on food supplies
The regions are experiencing seven consecutive years of reduced agricultural production compared to the five-year average
and household food stocks are below pre-crisis levels
The majority of poor households that still have stocks of staple foods have enough to last a month at most
The situation is precarious in both regions
and female-headed households are more likely to be food-insecure than male-headed households
Access to basic social services is also unfavourable to women
This is even more serious for pregnant or breastfeeding women who do not have immediate access to health facilities and are obliged to walk long distances or use unsuitable means of transport
A total of 3.2 million people needed emergency food assistance in 2023 in Cameroon
One of the ways that the Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) assists to people affected by conflict is through multi-purpose cash assistance
Displaced people and their host communities receive cash assistance to help pay for temporary accommodation
We work with partners to target those most likely to need assistance
Vivian contacted the livelihoods team at NRC and received XAF 125,000 in cash assistance
She decided to stop working on farms and concentrate on her chin-chin business
I was able to increase my chin-chin and groundnut sales to the extend that I am now one of the biggest suppliers in town,” she says proudly
“I even expanded the business to sell wood and clothes.”
Vivian is now a thriving and respected businesswoman in Tiko where she supplies many of the village's residents and shops with her goods
Thanks to her business and the income it generates
and buy yoghurt to drink,” says Vivian
“I can even do my hair and take care of myself
It hasn’t been like that for the past five years
so I still can’t fathom how my story has changed so positively,” she says
With support from the Foreign Policy Instruments (FPI)
NRC provided displacement-affected families with cash assistance for three months
beginning November 2023 in the Northwest and Southwest regions of Cameroon
Each displaced family received cash equivalent to approximately USD 248
The project aims to achieve long-term solutions and contribute to peacebuilding and social cohesion amongst displacement-affected populations
This includes people who have been displaced
The project is addressing the underlying causes of the crisis such as limited services
NRC and its local partners particularly target community-based organisations working with women
since they are often marginalised from conflict resolution mechanisms
We seek to empower displacement-affected women to identify and implement solutions to the issues that most affect them
Vivian is one of 28,695 people who received assistance from NRC in Cameroon in 2023
Over 18,400 of these were assisted with the support of NDICI in the Northwest and Southwest regions of the country

an electro-pop creator just breaking through the online mold
Viral sensation Tiko keeps growing his roster – from YouTube to TikTok to the airwaves
The young personality returned recently with UPSIDE DOWN
a carefully curated record that tilts down tempo-wise and shifts his style
and now today is following that up with a holiday song for you all to embrace the season
“The Naughty List” is a fun tune that is less spacey and atmospheric and more classic than other releases
but caters to his young fans that are growing up with him like everything else he does
to talk about where he is at this point in his journey
This album plays into a range of vocal abilities and stylings we haven’t quite heard from you yet
I’m going to start posting a lot more content as Jayden
“Why not go ahead and start making songs in my real voice?” I’ve gotten countless requests for music in my real voice
and now it’s finally time I can share some
because we are so intrigued with your inflections and tone
how do you know whether a song is more suited for the higher-pitched
electronic-tinged voice or the stripped down
You balance out the two wonderfully on these 14 songs
I like to think about it from a listener’s perspective and what times feel right for the voices to switch
on my song “FLY,” I didn’t shape the song as is typically done where an artist may be featured on a single verse; I wanted more of a duet between Tiko and Jayden going back and forth
Being young and successful has always come with its pros and cons
but now to be young and successful and online is on another level
And what keeps you inspired to do all that you’re doing
I have more freedom to do the things I love and can even continue doing it as a career
The main motivation for continuing to make content are my fans and knowing I’ll put a smile on even just one fan’s face is enough to make it all worth it
UPSIDE DOWN feels a lot more open-minded
but a lot more intentional than your debut
Were you listening to different music yourself
Tell us a bit about the writing and recording process that led to this release being what it is today
The first few songs I made for the album were “TESSELLATION,” “Tongue Twisted,” and “Honey.” Then I went on several trips
and my mind was opened up to all sorts of new ideas
It also helped listening to more music and hearing what’s going viral in the world today
I feel that I’ve had a lot of creative freedom with all my music however
UPSIDE DOWN was different because I was able to express myself in a way I haven’t been able to do previously through Tiko
Bringing myself into my content will hopefully help many of my fans connect with me as a person
We think what people are gravitating towards on this record and with your music as a whole is how you seem to maintain a groove throughout
These songs are grounded in its groove – feeling acts as the base for each song
especially “Heartless” and “Honey.” It’s pop
and has a nostalgic sound for being so fresh
How would you define your vibe as an artist – as a true musician outside of the streaming
I try my best to make sure all my songs have unique styles and melodies
The vibe of my music is different for every song
but the overarching goal is to make the listener feel happy and good about themselves
I specifically write the melodies I do because they make people feel happier
I’ll rewrite entire songs just because my friends don’t think it’s enough
as well as music lovers and our readers alike
My other hope is for my listeners to see more of me as Jayden
I want to build out my Jayden brand and start posting a lot more content as well as making a lot more music as Jayden
is there one song – or maybe two – that you think wholly define where you are right now as an artist and as Tiko in the UPSIDE DOWN era
(We’re leaning towards “Right in Front of Me” or single release “FLICKER,” but there are quite a few to choose from!)
“Right in Front of Me” and “FLY” are some of my best
I love how those turned out and “FLY” is my personal favorite when it comes to the Jayden/Tiko duets
There’s a lot more that I think also defines me
And everyone can expect a lot of new music
I will be pushing my IRL channel as well as Jayden on the streaming platforms a lot more over the next few months
I plan to move to LA to create even more videos

Tiko Africa
an organization that offers sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services to young people and adolescent girls in five African countries
is shopping for a partner to help collect voice biometrics from its users in Kenya for the enhancement of its digital identification platform
the purpose of the project is to boost the organization’s one-to-many (1:N) capabilities of the voice biometrics feature on its digital platform called Tiko
Tiko Africa has operations in Burkina Faso
voice biometrics will be collected from Tiko clinics and pharmacies as well as households in Kenya
with the data expected to serve three key purposes
These are to enable the identification of users through their voice biometrics using a Tiko card or their phone number
ensure identification of the same user who comes back many times for the same services or products
as well as activate a fraud prevention system by making it impossible for users to access other accounts even if they present a Tiko card linked to such accounts
The project is starting on a pilot that will see the training of the voices collected on the Tiko platform to improve their identifiability
The deadline for submission of bids is March 4
The project owners say the suitable provider of the service should be located in Kenya and one that has the required software
tools and other technical capabilities to offer an end-to-end service
The tender announcement also outlines other technical requirements to be considered by bidders
and how interested firms or individuals can apply
The use of voice biometrics is growing in popularity although it faces threats of deepfakes with the growing nature of generative AI

Europe / Ten Questions with Sina Afra
Turkey-based iBuyer and brokerage Tiko was founded in 2017 and has raised in excess of $65 million since. And 2024 looks set to be a growth year for the startup, which is no better exemplified by the recent acquisition of the Madrid-based brokerage Housell
Online Marketplaces reached out to Tiko CEO Sina Afra (pictured) to build our understanding of the business
selling or buying a house takes several months
clients face legal issues that further complicate the process
we have harnessed the power of technology to accelerate the buying and selling of homes in Spain and Portugal at every step of the process
efficient and transparent real estate brokerage experience that prioritises the client
and we offer the best possible service by providing agents with the best tools on the market
We offer buyers and sellers an easy and simple buying and selling process in which we help them buy or sell a house as quickly as possible without compromising on attention to detail
we use the most advanced technology in the market and marketing tools to amplify the reach of a property to many more potential buyers—which is a win-win for both parties
We also believe in building trust in our system
partly to change the bad reputation of the real estate sector
We only partner with chosen real estate agent partners
our internal platform Impulsa facilitates agents with an interconnected set of tools
buyers and sellers with Tiko do not have to worry about anything
because the real estate agent solves everything—even the paperwork and bureaucratic issues afterwards—via Impulsa
Our business model is based on earning a commission on property sales
thanks to our great real estate brokerage service and main business model for 2024
Thanks to our recent acquisition of Housell
which makes us the largest digital real estate agency in Spain
We are always open to new sources of financing although we are well financed for now
Our future need for financing will depend on our progress this year
This year we will focus most of our efforts on strengthening our brokerage business line
This is our highest priority in our 2024 business plan so that we can multiply the volume of transactions by a factor of ten
we have incorporated new important positions to lead this brokerage area and are creating a network of the best real estate agents
we intend to incorporate 700 real estate agents in the next 12 months
we will continue to work on the Impulsa platform
Tiko believes in the power of data to help our clients sell or buy their homes
it takes on average of five months to sell a house
to source a buyer and complete a sale in just 40 days
According to a recent survey we conducted in-house
more than half of Spaniards (53%) expect to sell their home in less than three months
the seller is in a relative hurry to sell their home
The good news is that the consumer is increasingly digital—8 out of 10 Spaniards would sell their home online without contacting the buyer
We are optimistic and the trend is positive
Inflation is expected to be controlled and interest rates are expected to fall in the coming months
thus reducing the cost of financing home purchases
with the shortage of supply and rising rental prices
We believe that the situation will improve and that we will do well
especially with a business model like ours
which is more innovative and fresher than the competition
The Housell acquisition means Tiko is now one of the largest players in Proptech in Spain
This fundamental move consolidates our position among the market leaders in the Spanish real estate market and lays the basis for our future expansion
we are committed to sustainable growth and we make strategic decisions that allow us to grow every year a little more
we want to scale our business to other European countries and continue to expand
Although we continue to offer unique products and services
such as an immediate sale or guaranteed sale
our brokerage philosophy is to sell the client's home as if it were our own
We have extensive experience in this thanks to our time at iBuying
and we give the utmost attention and dedication to each home
We invest in the most read media and social networks
and we have a trusted base of buyers and a private network for investors
We are also experts in valuation and data analysis
we have the most reliable information on properties for sale and sale
and we provide a great after-sales service related to financing thanks to our data and agreements with partners
I think technology is still a taboo in real estate
Our industry is one of the largest worldwide
but one of the slowest to embrace digitalization
There remains a prejudice about how to sell a house online
we have proven that if you give attentive service and give the customer confidence

Tiko Tuskadze, chef-owner of London’s celebrated Little Georgia restaurants, with one branch in Islington and one in Hackney, shares her love for the food of Georgia, her home country, in her first book, Supra: A Feast of Georgian Cooking (Pavilion Books)
features the recipes and stories that have been passed down through her family for generations
We recently had the chance to chat with Tuskadze and hear more about her career trajectory
the work that went into creating Supra and the role that food played in her childhood in Georgia
Can you tell us a bit about how you became interested in food and cooking
I had the idea that I wanted to run a restaurant and ended up taking over a failing spot
At that time I brought my two aunts over from Georgia to cook
as I didn’t have any background in kitchens except just watching my family – food was a big part of my childhood
My grandmother was an absolutely brilliant cook
and we adopted all the dishes in the restaurant from what we used to eat at home
My whole concept was recreating the home environment
starting with the decoration and design of the restaurant
and most importantly with the food we were making
It wasn’t only a business for me; I was away from home
and the restaurant was an almost therapeutic way for me to deal with nostalgia
all the pictures and things were actually brought from my home
And then my aunts were recreating the recipes that used to be cooked and served in our home
I wanted them to feel like they’re coming to somebody’s house
I didn’t have a background in running a restaurant or as a professional chef when I first started out
It’s changing now as restaurants are becoming more popular
everybody was a great cook because we weren’t as spoiled with restaurants as we are now – all the entertainment was happening at home
You give from your heart and you know the taste you’re going for
That’s why we say there are as many cheese breads as there are women in Georgia
because each woman makes it in a different way
And it was often a competition as to who makes it best
My aunts went back to Georgia because I had to close that first restaurant as I was moving to a new area
and now it’s very hard to bring them back as the rules changed
But having a family-oriented kitchen meant that I was involved in everything
and the more you work the more you develop and become more creative
they don’t have a professional background but they are all great cooks
I have to season the food so that it tastes like what we used to eat at home – sometimes people even think that I have an Indian background because we do very spicy food but that’s how we used to have it at home
But it’s true that if you do something right and if you are genuinely honest
The restaurant business can be hard but it’s really enjoyable because I feel that I’m spending a certain amount of my time in Georgia
What made you decide to write a book
Customers were always approaching me and asking
“What’s the recipe for that?” I always gave it to them because it’s not a secret – it doesn’t matter if you can follow the recipe
Just as people wear the same clothes differently
it’s the same with the food – a lot of it has to do with personality
people were always encouraging me to write a book
You have to know how to write the recipe exactly
Plus I was thinking that I don’t want to write a book with only recipes
because the restaurant’s very personal for me
So each recipe should have the story behind it
and not just directions and a list of ingredients
And actually it happened that publishers approached me and asked if I’d write a Georgian cookbook
I explained to them how I wanted it to be done
What I can offer is the way we do things at Little Georgia
it has to be my story because otherwise I just won’t be able to do it
Writing the book gave me the opportunity to thank all my family for what they’ve given me
to acknowledge how much they gave me in life
So the book ended up being a kind of big thanks to my family
and it was the best way I could have done it
Did the writing process unearth any particular feelings or memories
I was just sitting and writing these little stories and it made me so homesick that I had to go back to Georgia
some of which I hadn’t been to for more than 30 years
And during the writing process I was surrounded by so many people who came alive
It was a very emotional process but it was… you know how sometimes you are sad but it is a pleasant kind of sadness
It’s like when you are in love and you are missing somebody
it’s almost pleasurable to carry it around
Your family plays a prominent role in the book
It’s a whole experience of eating because the food was bringing everybody together
I was brought up in a family where my grandmother
she was an excellent cook but she also had a day job
She was headmistress of a boarding school for blind children
So she practically had two jobs – in the daytime
the first thing she was doing was going to the market
getting a whole lot of food and then coming home to cook
and my grandfather would always bring many people to our house because everybody knew that we had something delicious on
neighbors – my childhood was always full of people
because he had a type of job where he always had a lot of people visiting from different parts of the Soviet Union – it was the Soviet Union at that time – and even from abroad
all the entertaining was happening at home
every second day he used to have his close friends over for dinner – he had around twenty best friends
And listening to them, I never got bored. Sometimes when you are at a supra you think, oh god, the toast masters are going to talk
But their generation was brought up listening to other generations: the way they were enjoying themselves
Do you have any thoughts on the increased interest in Georgia and Georgian food recently
At the moment Georgia is very popular and everyone seems to be visiting
Even some of my unadventurous friends decided to take the risk to go and see Georgia
And they’re coming back absolutely enamored – they all want to go back and live there
I remember that when we opened the restaurant and Georgia wasn’t as popular
a travel editor at The Guardian wrote an article about Little Georgia
She loved the food and atmosphere so much she decided to travel and see the country for herself
we are doing something right that people are getting so interested in Georgia
one of the things I loved most about living there was the spontaneity
but it used to be that you’d never know who was going to turn up at your doorstep without letting you know that they’re coming – it was always something out of the blue
So I remember the feeling of looking forward to the day because you never knew if something amazing was going to happen
This is the thing I was missing in London because every day when I woke up
While it’s not possible to consider a move now
I feel like Georgian is calling me back as I’m getting older

Here's my dream travel scenario: I get to JFK via a delay-free subway ride
After standing in the security line for a maximum wait of five minutes
pass through the scanners without being stopped
then shuffle through the airplane aisle and effortlessly launch my carry-on into the overhead bin
I slide into my seat and promptly fall asleep for the duration of the flight
it will remain a pipe dream because I can't control many parts of the journey
like the state of the MTA or how picky the TSA agent is about the fact that I didn't take my Kindle out of my bag
But everything I can control to make traveling as least stressful as possible
and the type of suitcase I bring makes a big difference
and looks a little different from most other suitcases out there.

It measures 22.7"x 9.5" x 14.5" and weighs just 7.2 pounds
there's one large main compartment and one zippered compartment
there's a zippered pocket to stash quick-grab essentials like your passport
If you're using a carry-on in the first place
you probably don't need anything fancier anyways
and you can always use packing cubes if you want to be more organized
As an over-packer (it's possible I'd wear those two extra outfits
I was surprised to have some room leftover after packing my usual amount of things
Because the frame is flexible and the canvas fabric also has give
and toiletries into every inch of space possible
I wasn't shy about stocking up on pastries to bring home
and I packed away my heavier jacket instead of wearing it on my flight.

giving it the casual look and soft feel of cotton but the strength of synthetic materials
In case it does get tagged for check-in due to lack of overhead bin space
it's tough enough to withstand being thrown around by luggage handlers.
While the suitcase isn't entirely waterproof
it's safe to carry out for short periods of time in the rain
I wheeled the suitcase home from the office on a rainy night — a walk of about 10 minutes total — and everything inside and out emerged fine
the rain splatters drying up without a trace within a half hour.
and the handle is tight but extends and retracts smoothly as well
Its light frame and fabric construction means you can lift it into the overhead bin quickly and avoid backing up the entire line of impatient passengers behind you.

My one point of contention is that I can't rest my purse or duffel bag on top as easily as I can on a hard-shelled suitcase — it takes a little extra finagling to ensure my second bag stays put.
I like using the suitcase because of its no-fuss reliability and durability
it doesn't come with a battery pack or a built-in lock
and host of other useful features make it a great carry-on regardless.
visited the construction site of Pristine's factory in Tiko
located in the Southwest region of Cameroon
although its amount has not been disclosed
positions the company to enter the mineral water and soft drink market in Cameroon as early as 2025
The government has identified Pristine's investment as a priority industrial project
This factory is being built in an area designated as an Economically Distressed Zone (EDZ) due to the impacts of Anglophone separatist violence in the Southwest and Northwest regions since late 2016
view this factory as a pioneering project for the reindustrialization of the Southwest region
which has faced significant industrial destruction due to the conflict
Pristine's factory will offer affordable products while focusing on processing local raw materials
the company plans to benefit from the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA)
which provides access to a common market of around 1.3 billion consumers across Africa
Pristine's entry into the market is expected to boost competition in the already fierce sector of mineral water and soft drinks in Cameroon
The company will face tough competition from well-established rivals
Source du Pays has dominated the mineral water market since 2016 with its popular Supermont brand
Source du Pays made a strong comeback after several years and took market leadership from the Société des Eaux Minérales du Cameroun (SEMC)
SEMC had been the uncontested leader in this market for decades
which produced the “Opur” mineral water brand and the “Planète” soft drinks
propelled Source du Pays to 67% market share in 2018
SEMC became the second-largest player in the market and launched the Vitale brand
alongside Aquabelle and the well-known Source Tangui
to compete with its rival’s low pricing strategies
SEMC has been working to regain its footing over the past eight years and claimed 40% market share in 2021
Source du Pays and SEMC lead a market that already features around twenty other local and international brands

Cut to today's Yak and fellow Surviving Barstool cast member Caroline just brought up that she is down to step into the ring vs. Tiko.
That was seemingly out of nowhere. They did have words after Caroline joked about the conclusion of episode 1 on social media. Was that the wick in this stick of dynamite? Later in the show, Caroline doubled down.
Having spent some time with both potential competitors I'm not sure who would have the advantage. Caroline definitely has the size/reach advantage which Alex Bennett proved is lethal. Caroline is also an athlete, having played basketball growing up and appears in good cardio shape.
But also I've seen Tiko flex her bicep and while she is skinny, she is JACKED. As long as Tiko is able to get inside, she definitely possesses knockout power. But can she get inside? Caroline has probably three plus inches on her and the wingspan of a condor, so it's a real toss up. Time will tell if we're ever able to see this matchup, but be sure to check out the full Yak from today here.

The Jakarta Metro Police are currently investigating an embezzlement case involving Tiko Aryawardhana
the husband of renowned singer Bunga Citra Lestari
which involves allegations of misappropriation of funds amounting to Rp 6.9 billion ($423,500)
South Jakarta Police’s Head of Criminal Investigation Unit
stated that Tiko is still considered a witness at this stage of the investigation
“Five witnesses have been questioned
Tiko is still a witness,” Bintoro confirmed
The complaint against Tiko was filed by his former wife
who accused him of embezzlement related to his role in the food and beverage company Arjuna Advaya Sanjaya
who was the chief commissioner and sole funder of the company
reported discrepancies in the company's financial reports during its operation from 2015 to 2021
explained that Tiko was given full authority to manage the company and its finances as the director
Arina found conflicting financial reports which led her to suspect data manipulation
“Our client hired independent auditors to investigate and they discovered fraudulent spending amounting to Rp 6.9 billion,” Leo said
The complaint was officially filed on July 23
accusing Tiko of “embezzlement by misusing authority,” a year after their divorce
The case continues to unfold as the police gather more evidence and testimonies from those involved
Spanish home-buying startup Tiko has raised $65 million in debt and equity funding to expand its business internationally.
Tiko aims to speed up the sales process for property sellers from several months to as little as a week
The startup makes offers to buy properties at a slight discount on the sales price
effectively meaning the seller can speed up the transaction for a slight financial hit
Tiko then either refurnishes or otherwise improves the property and puts it back on the market
The process can reduce paperwork for the seller
"This is an inefficient market," Tiko CEO Sina Afra told Insider
"COVID-19 has changed the way that people look at properties because they want a garden
We are able to empower sellers with a tech-led solution."
Afra, a serial entrepreneur best known for selling his fashion e-commerce business Markafoni to Naspers for $200 million
says that Tiko's secret sauce is being able to value a property without seeing it
"Tech is the reason we are able to grow because we can collect 3 million data points in the Spanish market everyday and apply machine learning algorithms to price efficiently and quickly," he added
Funding took place over virtual meetings and is led by Btov and Rocket Internet alongside existing angel investors Joel Ayala from Class 5 Ventures and former Voi and Lime executive Noa Khamallah
Afra added that being a Spanish company can be a hard sell to venture capital investors but that the company will soon expand into Portugal before embarking into other European markets
The fresh capital will go towards increasing the company's headcount from around 75 employees distributed between Afra's native Turkey and Madrid
"The continental European market is massive but slow
Each geography has billions of revenue every year so even hitting 1% of that is massive," Afra said

Europe / Spanish iBuyer Tiko Acquires Housell for Undisclosed Sum
Spanish iBuyer Tiko has acquired its compatriot portal Housell for an undisclosed sum
Tiko is a Spanish company in the PropTech sector founded in mid-2017 in Madrid
It currently has 1800 properties available for purchase on its site
including circa 700 in Madrid 300+ each in Barcelona and Valencia
which operates on a subscription-based model for sellers looking to invest in different real estate services depending on their personal circumstances
but appears to have accepted an exit in a struggling market
The acquisition means "Tiko’s ambition to lead the online brokerage market in Iberia is now closer than ever," according to Tiko CEO Sina Afra
Tiko has become the largest digital real estate company in Spain and Portugal
both in terms of the number of regions in which it operates and the number of properties in its portfolio within the Spanish territory
Tiko will be able to service all Spanish regions
making it the largest digital real estate company in the country
"The acquisition of Housell aligns with Tiko’s strategy to strengthen its presence in the real estate market and accelerate its growth trajectory
By integrating Housell’s market knowledge with Tiko’s technological innovations
this operation is set to redefine the real estate landscape in Iberia
efficient and transparent real estate transaction experience.”
Spain's real estate market has fallen off a cliff in recent years
fewer transactions—all of which would contribute to a 'get out while you can' approach by Housell
Fellow European iBuyer Casavo, which also operates in Spain, shocked the industry with October's admission that it will "park" its iBuying business and pivot towards becoming a mortgage brokerage while market conditions remain stagnant
But it seems Tiko is digging deep on its mission to streamline Spain and Portugal's real estate experience at scale. Competition is rife, though, with big-name portals like Idealista (which may or may not be up for sale) and Fotocasa already absorbing a large proportion of market share

June 5 (Xinhua) -- The sun shone from a cloudless sky in a quiet
she successfully installed a solar panel on a roof
Supplying renewable energy to remote communities across Cameroon has become a passion for Monyengi
"My main aim is to light the community," said the mother of three
the first woman to install and maintain solar panels in her community
she has won respect for her work and fondly referred to as "solar mama."
with the help of a local non-governmental organization (NGO)

she has installed solar panels in over 200 households
Monyengi's work has provided inspiration and ignited hope among her neighbours
the village with about 400 inhabitants had no electricity
Monyengi took a motorcycle to the banks of the Ombe River and then crossed the river on a canoe to reach the remote village
she installed solar panels in 54 households

I was so interested because it makes me exercise what I really wished to do as a youth," she said
"I am so happy I achieved something at this age," Nkweti said
"I can go and install solar panels without anybody's help
because the training teaches you what to do and what not to do," she said

We source our ingredients from Russian and Turkish suppliers – Georgian cooking is a mixture of influences from Europe and Asia
You couldn't see Georgia in a weekend – but who goes for the weekend? You'd need to visit the David Gareja monastery
It's built into cliffs in an extraordinary semi-desert landscape
there are early Christian rock paintings and incredible views – bring a picnic
In Tbilisi, you have to try the restaurant behind the police station – I have no idea of its name. From the portrait of Stalin gazing benevolently from the wall to the off–duty policemen engaging in endless toasts, this place is nothing if not authentic. The food is wonderful; the best, most succulent kebabi (large, spicy sausage-like things) and fresh mtsvadi (pork or lamb kebabs cooked over a wood fire)
Georgian brandy and Turkish coffee to finish
The concept of the weekend has never really existed in Georgia – why wait until Friday when you can go out on Wednesday

Spanish IBuying firm Tiko has appointed Andrea Baielli (LinkedIn profile) as its chief financial officer.
