Granadilla de Abona has become the first municipality in Tenerife to establish official regulations for holiday rental properties
approved unanimously by the local council yesterday (Thursday)
will come into effect 20 days after its publication in the Boletín Oficial de la Provincia de Santa Cruz de Tenerife
described the measure as a bold step and a significant milestone in the municipality’s housing strategy
She emphasised that the ordinance directly addresses one of the main concerns of local residents
the housing crisis and the right to access affordable housing
Key Aspects of the Holiday Rental Regulation
The new ordinance stipulates that only properties built in accordance with urban planning regulations
and with necessary permits will be eligible for holiday rentals
rental activities will be restricted to ground-floor units
Properties that are outside urban planning regulations
or located in officially designated high-demand housing areas will not be permitted for holiday rentals
Urban Planning Councillor Óscar Delgado stated that the ordinance seeks to regulate an industry that
particularly concerning community relations and housing availability
He stressed the importance of protecting residents' right to housing and quality of life
particularly amid the ongoing housing crisis
Delgado also highlighted that the initiative reflects "realistic and effective policymaking that prioritises the needs of the majority."
Granadilla de Abona has also been proactive in tackling the wider housing crisis
The municipality is the second in the Canary Islands to formally request a study for high-demand housing designation
It has also submitted formal proposals and facilitated collaboration between different government bodies
the municipality has allocated land for the construction of 59 publicly funded homes and supported private sector investment
leading to the development of over 300 affordable rental units
significant public funds have been allocated for acquiring vacant properties to be repurposed as affordable rental housing
the Spanish government evicted a historical village that was supposed to get flooded by the waters of a new reservoir
The medieval fortress town of Granadilla is a ghost town. Visitors can peek into empty rooms, wander along its walled-in streets and view the town from atop its castle
Not since all the residents were kicked out in the 1960s
Originally founded by Muslims in the 9th Century
Granadilla occupied a strategic spot that allowed its occupants to keep a watchful eye on the Ruta de la Plata
an ancient trade and travel route across the region
and today it's one of the few Spanish fortress villages where the ancient walls are still intact
But the community that lived here right up until the 1960s is not
during the dictatorship of Francisco Franco
when Spain embarked on massive project of building dams as a way to boost the economy during the period of isolation
The largest of these efforts was the Gabriel y Galán reservoir on the Alagón River
officials decreed that Granadilla was in the floodplain and therefore had to be evacuated
many relocated to colonisation settlements near the village
it covered all except one route into the village
But that's as high as the water got – the town itself never flooded
The Spanish 'ghost town' that should be underwaterThe experience was traumatic for locals
many of whom still carry their frustration
"It was a travesty," said Eugenio Jiménez
president of the Association Sons of Granadilla
claiming that the dam would flood the town
which was impossible because the town is higher than the dam
But what truly frustrates me is that during democratic times
I've been struggling for the recovery of Granadilla with the former children's association
and no government has listened to us."
also recalled the difficulty of those years
"I remember that every time a family left the village
everyone came out to the entrance of the village to say goodbye and cried," she said

Colombian passion fruits have suffered a decrease in production due to pests
FreshFruitPortal.com spoke with the director of Corporación Centro de Desarrollo Tecnológico de las pasifloras de Colombia
Parra explained that the presence of some pests has caused these crops to lower their productivity
growers have had to apply more chemical synthesis pesticides
which affects the quality and makes the fruits unexportable
"That was reflected in the results of 2023
where export volume decreased 7% for passion fruits
so we are going through a difficult situation," she said
She added that the most affected is the gulupa
which is the main passion fruit exported with a 90% share
in addition to the granadilla which is very vulnerable to diseases
the highest percentage of production was for maracuya with over 67%
followed by granadilla with 14% of production," she said
Parra said they are leading the process of admission for Colombian passion fruits to the United States
"We are practically on the verge of achieving entry
we have more or less 70% of the entire entry process done
APHIS and ICA are making all the comments and adjustments to the access plan
then the diplomatic and institutional stages follow," she said.
She emphasized that they expect to be able to start exporting by the end of the year
"but this depends on diplomatic relations and all the negotiation processes."
"It would be important for us to open the U.S
by next year because the situation with Europe is becoming very complicated
adding more processes in safety and traceability of the fruit which is affecting the export industry sector," she said
Parra added that since the largest suppliers of passion fruits are small farmers
they are the most impacted by these measures.
She explained that among the required measures is to have better technologies and protocols in production crops
following the requirements and certifications requested by each destination market
She indicated that they are ready to export passion fruits to the United States: "Along with the expectations that we will soon achieve access to the market
we are also reactivating new plantations and new areas are being reviewed to start working on crops."
there is an interesting projection of a gradual increase of passion fruits to the U.S.
"to be able to export the same volume to the U.S
which reached more than 15 million kg last season."
market brings with it multiple challenges for the sector
"We are reviewing the issue of research and technology transfer to replace chemical synthetic products with more organic and biological products," she said
according to Parra is to have more environmentally friendly fruit
and for producers to have cleaner production technology
Today the industry generates more than 4,000 direct jobs and entering the U.S
market could bring greater benefits to small producers
Parra says they are working on studying the target consumers for the product
They have also participated in the Global Produce and Floral Show organized by IFPA
to meet potential importers and market expectations for Colombian passion fruits
"Our passion fruits are the most widely consumed exotic fruit in the European Union
and the fact that they are produced by small producers means that they have a great social impact and we are supporting this rural work in areas that are sometimes difficult to access," she said.
She asses that the Colombian industry as a whole
are making their best efforts to guarantee quality fruit in export markets

A development application has been lodged for upgrades to the existing Sunnybank Rugby Clubhouse
Designed by Inaspace Architects
the proposal seeks alterations and additions to the existing Rugby Clubhouse
reconfiguring the internal design of the building while also expanding the floor areas through the use of decking and shipping containers
The upgraded outdoor areas will provide for coffee service
The upgrade will provide a new decking area and maintain a low density built form
The existing footpaths and water tanks will be removed to facilitate the proposed development
The planners at Barley Burns state that
“the proposed Rugby clubhouse is intended to complement and be considered ancillary to the proposed numerous residential development applications under the neighbourhood plan
“The nearby residential developments will require sports

For the first time a wind turbine is set to pass the milestone of 30 years of service: the turbine in question is located in Granadilla
we’re developing increasingly cutting-edge technologies in this field
have started the new one just as emphatically
The 5-0 win against Granadilla shows that they plan to carry on where they left off
winning games and scoring plenty of goals in the process
But we should never be fooled into believing that these things are easy to do
with debutant Irene Paredes looking like she had played for the team forever
the first half hour ended with no score against a Granadilla side that is looking a lot stronger this season
Aitana whizzed into the danger zone and whipped in a cross for Bruna to tap in for Barça’s first official goal of the season
The goal truly opened up the flow of the game
The 2,011 strong crowd at the Estadi Johan Cruyff were treated to a third goal straight after the restart
Graham Hansen and Mariona both shot in rapid succession before European Player of the Year Alexia banged home
Melanie had only been on for a matter of moments before the same Alexia set her up for goal four
and the fifth was a brilliant piece of opportunism for Claudia Pina
So it was a wonderful start to Jonatan Giráldez’s tenure as first team manager
as attention now turns to the first road trip of the Liga season
under commission from colombian tropical and exotic fruits producer/exporter ocati, spanish joan rojeski studio introduces a useful tool to accompany the introduction of a lesser known fruit
the ‘granadilla’ is a plastic straw and spoon tool created for eating a fruit of the same name
unknown to a majority of the european market
the fruit is most easily comparable (in regards to physical characteristics) to the pomegranate
‘granadilla’ straw for ocati
greatly lessens the learning curve for eating the tasty treat
is derived from the subtly carved leaves that accompany the fruit
the tool’s carved end is jabbed into the granadilla’s outer surface
after wiggling it around a bit to break the inner film which contains the goodies
the user is then free to suck directly from the straw
one can break open the shell and use the carved end as a small spoon
‘granadilla’ was designed by joan rojeski studio for ocati tropical fruits.

In a significant move to address housing problems
the Granadilla de Abona City Council unanimously approved the municipality's first ordinance yesterday (Thursday) to regulate holiday rentals in residential homes and complexes located in the municipality which includes El Medano
forms part of a broader strategy aimed at tackling housing issues in the south of Tenerife
which is considered one of the most pressing concerns across the Canary Islands
introduced by Deputy Mayor and Urban Planning Councillor Óscar Delgado
is designed to establish a balance between residential needs and the tourism-driven holiday rental market
“We recognise the value of holiday rentals
but we must also address their challenges,” he explained
emphasising the urgent need for this measure
The ordinance aims to introduce intensity limits on land designated for residential use
fostering harmonious coexistence between residents and rental property owners
representing over 9% of the municipality’s housing stock
Mayor Miranda highlighted the significance of the decision
thanking the council for its unified support
She called on the Canary Islands Government and other relevant authorities to heed Granadilla’s requests for additional support
including a temporary moratorium on holiday rentals and the creation of an inspectorate to address irregular building practices
Through the Canary Federation of Municipalities (FECAM)
the council has urged regional action to tackle housing shortages and support compliance with rental regulations
This ordinance aims to improve housing availability by ensuring that properties used for short-term rentals adhere to legal standards without restricting all holiday rentals
Councillor Marcos Antonio Rodríguez
emphasised that this ordinance is an essential tool for addressing the municipality's housing crisis
reinforcing the local government’s commitment to its residents
This ordinance underscores Granadilla de Abona’s proactive stance on regulating the holiday rental sector to protect the municipality’s housing stock and promote fair and accessible living conditions for all residents
The Barça women have started 2022 where they left off in 2021
After putting seven goals past UD Granadilla they have now won all 16 of their league games to date
one of the trickiest grounds to visit in the Liga Iberdrola and with a number of absences through Covid-19 and injury
But the home side’s impressive start was quelled when Pisco put the ball in her own net after 14 minutes and then Graham quickly extended the lead
Fridolina Rolfö was on the end of a potent counter attack no sooner had play recommenced
then Martens converted a cross from the same player and scored her second of the day after 69 minutes
The goal of the day was banged in by Patri Guijarro from the edge of the area
and Oshoala celebrated her return after almost two months of injury by netting goal number seven
Fran Sanchez’s side have collected three crucial points against UD Granadilla Tenerife
The 3-0 win means they stay among the title contenders in the women’s league
Two goals from Aitana and one from Alexia tipped the balance against the side from the Canary Islanders
hard-fighting opponent but eventually succumbed to the better team
with just a single goal splitting the sides
but the second saw the blaugrana ladies making more than sure of a third consecutive win to stay second in the table with 29 points from eleven games
Barça Women weren’t able to secure any points form their away match against Granadilla
A Simpson goal in the 10th minute was enough for the home side to secure a win against Fran Sánchez’s team
who were unable to find a way through the team from Tenerife’s defence
the fixture turned out to be a tough away game
They were at one of the toughest away grounds in the league and they struggled to get into any kind of rhythm because of the opposition’s high press
The pitch is a small one and Barça had to resort to long balls over the Granadilla defence
Sandra Paños had to be alert in goal as the home side threatened early on
The blaugranas were struggling to control possession and they were punished when a scrappy passage of play in their box ended with Simpson putting the home team ahead
The team from Tenerife tried to create chances on the break and from dead ball situations
Barça responded to going behind through Duggan and Aitana who both had good chances
The blaugranas started the second half in confident mood and they started creating more dangerous openings
Fran Sánchez brought on Olga García and Leila
Olga was the most active playe in the second half and she tried everything
She went closest as she unluckily sent two headers onto the post
Luck wasn’t on Barça’s side and they were running out of time
they were unable to score and the blaugranas’ run of wins came to an end as Atlético Madrid overtook them at the top of the table
It was Barça Women’s first defeat of the season following a great start of eight wins and one draw
who peppered Sandra Paños' goal with several shots
the visitors soon began to dominate the game
and other chances came and went before Bruna Vilamala got on the end of a good cross from the right by Mariona Caldentey (0-1
the Catalans continued to create chances with Bruna and Martens very active in attack but without success in front of goal
even with just a one goal lead Barça were comfortable
The win means they need just one point from their last eight games to be declared champions
but now it's time for the team to focus on the Women's Champions League final next Sunday
Yellow cards for Silvia Doblado and Natalia Ramos
First game of the season and first win for the blaugranes
Jonathan Giráldez's team recorded a 2-0 win over Granadilla at the Estadi Johan Cruyff thanks to goals from Geyse Ferreira and Caroline Graham Hansen
The opening 45 minutes saw Granadilla set out their stall and frustrate the blaugranes
The home side also lost Patri Guijarro after just 11 minutes of the game with a nasty head injury and she was replaced by Vicky López who at just 16 years and 19 days
became the youngest player to represent the team since it became professional in 2015
Chances came and went but Barça were unable to find a way through and the sides went in at the break with the score goalless
The second half started with two great chances for the blaugranes
Rolfö hit the post with the first but Geyse made no mistake with the second to put Barça ahead just after the hour mark
Norwegian Graham Hansen then scored a great effort on 68 minutes to swing the game in Barça's favour yet more
Barça Women closed out the game in the final minutes to record a first win of the league campaign in front of 4,477 fans at the Estadi Johan Cruyff
A victory for Barça Women in the Estadi Johan Cruyff after Granadilla Tenerife had taken the lead in their league game in Barcelona
a brace from Jenni Hermoso and a goal from Alexia turned things around in the first half and then after the break a goal from Martens and two from Bruna made the final score 6-1 to the blaugranes
The blaugranes had the first chance of the game with Graham Hansen testing Tenerife keeper Aline
In the visitors' first attack of note they took the lead with Pisco scoring with just eight minute gone
lasted barely five minutes with Jenni Hermoso levelling things up on 13 minutes
A great save from Sandra Paños prevented the away side from regaining the lead before Hermoso struck again to put Barça ahead
A penalty from Alexia just before the half hour mark made it 3-1 at half time
In the second half Alexia's shot came back off the post and Martens reacted first to stretch the home side's lead on 71 minutes
Coach Cortés made changes and one of the players coming on had an almost immediate effect
Second half sub Bruna score twice in six minutes to seal a commanding win ahead of Sunday's trip to France to take on PSG in the first leg of their Champions League semi final
The away side took the initiative in the early goings penning VCF Femenino in their own half of the pitch with crosses and forays into the opposition box as VCF Femenino were looking to find a foothold in the game
Enith pulled off a great save to turn María José’s 32-yard strike behind for a corner kick
Candela responded at the other end from long range and Aline Reis was equal to it
Esther had a goal disallowed for offside over the midway mark of the first half
Blom made it 0-1 to the away side on 37 minutes
Asun came close to equalising minutes before the break following a blistering driving run from her own half
The away side had a narrow 0-1 lead at the break
VCF Femenino came out in the second half looking to bring menace into the opposition box and close to the hour mark
Salmi made it 1-1 from 12 yards after a foul on Asun
The game opened up and saw an end to end spell after the equaliser
Aleksandra made it 1-2 to the away side just ten minutes later
VCF Femenino kept on pushing for the equaliser
but the scoreline remained unchanged and VCF Femenino fell to a 1-2 home loss to UD Granadilla Tenerife

While production of granadilla looks steady
supplies may be down slightly compared to the rest of the year
“Granadilla has a year-round production affected by the weather conditions in Colombia
December to February we are going to have a steady production,” says Santiago Mosquera Calvache of Practical Colombia
the following months until December will come up with a medium production.”
Normal production volumes have been pushed back for a month due to the weather in Colombia
Granadilla production moves throughout Colombia which allows for the year-round supply
our most important partner is located in the “Eje Cafetero” region close to Pereira,” says Mosquera Calvache
we are working with producers in the south of Colombia
Colombian challenges Meanwhile competing product comes from Ecuador
our biggest obstacle is the lack of development as well as investment from our government in agriculture and internal infrastructure
That’s why we are losing competitiveness against other countries such as Peru and Ecuador,” says Mosquera Calvache
“Colombia has so much potential and many exotic fruits that the world doesn’t know about
we would like to make them available for clients around the world.” He also adds that the state of Colombia’s free trade agreements also mean that Colombia isn’t able to reach the numerous other countries that suppliers wish to reach.
All of this means pricing is generally steady with sometimes small variations
“We can expect from one week to another a change on the price of about five percent,” says Mosquera Calvache
Mosquera Calvache notes that December is an essential month for the movement of granadilla
“Exotics are more desired by consumers than other fruits during the festive days so we’re planning with our producer to offer the most competitive product,” says Mosquera Calvache
This means sales generally get a push until about February
demand falls because as the statistics have shown us
exotics are inversely correlated with the consumption of berries during the summer,” says Mosquera Calvache

One of Colombia’s leading exotic fruit exporters has launched an ingenious new device designed to make the consumption of granadillas – and potentially other similar fruits – much easier
Consumers can use the combined straw and spoon
to make a hole in the fruit’s skin and then suck out its gelatinous flesh and edible seeds
before using the spoon end to eat the remaining bits
the tool’s design was inspired by the leaves of the real granadilla
Its clear emphasis on convenience is reminiscent of the Genuine Coconut, the coconut with the ring-pull opening and straw that scooped this year’s Fruit Logistica Innovation Awardand has since gained listings with a number of major retail chains
Granadillas are produced in a number of countries

Theywere lackluster in the second half and conceded via a penalty kick

which earned them a second-place finish in Primera Iberdrola

She was solid defensively and added a much-needed spark in attack
Kosovare Asllani — 7/10: Asllani came in for Kaci in the 59th minute
She played in an attacking midfield role and had some nice moments running at the backline
Asllani’s passing let her down in a few key moments but she made an impactful cameo
Lorena Navarro — 6/10: Lorena entered the match in the 59th minute for Jessica
like most of Las Blancas in the second half
struggled to get involved and create in the final third
Real Madrid had some good moments at the end of the match and Lorena helped provide some of them
Babett Peter — 6/10: Peter replaced Claudia Florentino in the 72nd minute
She came in and provided more solidity at the back
Ariana Arias — 6/10: Arias entered the match for Marta Cardona in the 72nd minute
She was unable to get very involved in her 12 minutes of action
Barça started the game excellently and Granadilla were defending very deep
After two opportunities from Marta Torrejón and Vicky Losada the goal arrived
Patri Guijarro beat Pili with a strong shot from 30 metres
Fran Sánchez’s players didn’t take their foot of the pedal and they scored the second on 25 minutes
Bussaglia took a corner and Pili put the ball in the back of her own net
Simpson pulled one back within a minute for the side from Tenerife
Neither side dominated as the game hang in the balance until Patri scored her second two minutes from the break to make it 3-1
Barça were in control and as they looked to put the game to bed
The blaugranes had plenty of chances through Duggan
but they weren’t able to add to the three goals
it was a very impressive performance from the blaugranes as they continue to push for the league title
In their last encounter, Real Madrid came out victorious but with great problems caused by Granadilla
Las Blancas finally managed to get the lead for the third and final time and Toletti’s header was the winner of the match

while Corredera will play out wide on the left
Some of this could be part of a basic rotation
but it’s also quite likely that Maite is not fully fit yet
GK: Misa Rodríguez - 4/10: Poor game from her
the goal could’ve been prevented and spilled harmless ball moments earlier; she’s lost her form
CB: Claudia Florentino - 4/10: Tried her best, was energetic but really not at the level to play for Real Madrid
CB: Ivana Andrés - 4/10: Another player in terrible form this season couldn’t galvanize the team as captain
CB: Sofie Svava - 6/10: Our best defender despite not being a center back
CDM; Claudia Zornoza - 4/10: Could not affect the game today in midfield
did not attempt her usual forward passes to provide for the forwards
CM: Sandie Toletti - 4/10: Just didn’t get going
could not break down the deep Tenerife block
RWB/RW: Athenea del Castillo - 5/10: Had some two good chances in the second half but that was about it from her did not beat her marker as she would’ve liked though the Right wing back role does not suit her
AM: Caroline Weir - 5/10: Really looks tired and its down to the manager to sort that out
Had a huge chance to give Real Madrid the lead twice but was very unlucky in both attempts
the best chances of the game came through her
AM: Linda Caicedo - N/A: Got injured in the 36th minute and couldn’t continue
Hopefully it’s just a knock as we would’ve won this game with her on the pitch
LWB/LW: Olga Carmona -4/10: Tried her best attacking
tracking her marker in defense and running the left-wing channel but her crossing has been very poor this season and today was no different
CF: Nahikari García - 5/10: Very frustrating afternoon for her as she fed on scraps
Naomie Feller - 6/10 (replaced Caicedo 37’) Was our most dangerous attacker and almost scored on two occasions
Esther González - 4/10 (replaced Nahikari) Provided more legs to run the channels but was very wasteful and missed two glorious opportunities
Maite Oroz - 6/10 (replaced Zornoza) We improved a bit with her in midfield dictating play
Freja Olofsson - N/A (replaced Toletti 80’) Teresa would’ve been a better option to bring on as we were looking to score
Caroline Møller - N/A (replaced Athenea 80’) Came in too late to provide any impact

Real Madrid faces Granadilla on Tenerife in the third matchday in Liga F
it’s only the second played match in the league campaign
There was an international break right after the first match of the season which made this season for Las Blancas even more complicated
On top of the tight schedule that begins in October with matches every 3 days
the team has lost Caroline Weir for the remainder of the season
The Scot has ruptured her ACL during the international break in Scotland’s match against Belgium
The tests done in Madrid confirmed what everyone feared and Real Madrid has lost without its highest goal scorer and assist provider of the 2022/23 season
Granadilla is always a challenging team to face that always bring a physical aspect in their games
When added the fact their home ground has artificial grass
this is most possibly one of the highest physically demanding games of the entire league campaign
Las Blancas won their away game against Granadilla last season
however the 3 points gained on Tenerife didn’t lack drama as the white club had to take the lead 3 times for the game to finally finish in Real’s favor
Ivana is in the squad for the first time since the preseason started but Caroline Weir has been ruled out for the rest of the season after suffering an ACL injury
There are no incorporations of academy players this time
Las Blancas requested postponement due to Covid cases within the squad
Granadilla was to take place at the Alfredo Di Stéfano stadium and would’ve occurred at the same time as the men’s Clásico in the Super Cup
Hopefully, this will be the last of the postponements and Las Blancas will be able to get back into the swing of things soon. As it currently stands, their next game will be vs. Rayo Vallecano on January 16, before they kick off an incredibly tough stretch by facing Barcelona in the Super Cup. Madrid will then take on Sevilla, Real Sociedad, Real Betis, Eibar, Athletic Bilbao, Barcelona twice in a row (league and Champions League first leg)
and Barcelona again (Champions League second leg)
the Madrileño Derbi might be rescheduled in the middle of all that

Aiming to interfere as little as possible with its rich natural environment
the new building rises over light metal supports without altering the topography

The enclosure has been completed with a ventilated double facade built with stainless steel prefabricated elements
Towards the exterior there is a piece of fifty centimeters in width and 240 in height
finished with small pieces resembling shingles that adapt perfectly to the curvature of the ring
The illumination and ventilation of the center is guaranteed thanks to the windows that appear when removing the aforementioned shingles

Join us for Barça Femení’s first adventure of the season
It’s time for Barcelona’s debut in the 2021-22 season
The all-conquering Blaugrana women take the pitch for the first time in an official match today as Barça Femení take on Granadilla Tenerife in the opening match of the Primera División season
Barça’s ladies did something exceptional last season
winning the first-ever Treble in Women’s football and absolutely destroying the Spanish league in the process
and they are once again favorites to literally win it all this season
The first match in their title defense is against Granadilla Tenerife
one of the strongest squads in the league that finished 6th last season and had the honor of being one of very few teams to score against Barça in the 2020-21 campaign
Barça Blaugranes will give the Women’s team the respect it deserves this season
and a live blog for their opening match is just the start

Las Blancas make a late comeback to salvage a point
Real Madrid split the points vs. Granadilla in a 1-1 draw away from home. That makes it three winless matches in three to start the league season, which already puts Las Blancas in a very tough position to qualify for the Champions League spots given how thin the margin for error is (last season we lost only six games)
Below are my immediate thoughts on the game

Late goal by Marí José puts Real Madrid’s unbeaten streak to an end
Defeat at home against Granadilla with the goal of Marí José. Below are my thoughts and views on Real Madrid’s game
Linda Caicedo got her second start for the white club
One of the main topics that were talked about in her debut was her natural and instant connection with Nahikari and they got a chance to show it from the beginning of this game
They will have Athenea and Olga helping them in attack on the sides
This formation with 3 at the back with Svava operating as one of the center backs didn’t give out much hope for this game and it was a direct spoiler
In the first half, there were in total of 0 shots on target. Granadilla didn’t play much; the ball was in Real Madrid’s control
in the end the player who was in front at the time wouldn’t manage to get it
The only reason to be excited for the lineup went terribly wrong
Caicedo went into a challenge and fell on her back
and she was officially subbed off 7 minutes later for Feller
Her chemistry with Nahikari couldn’t even be seen because Linda played a free role in those 30 minutes while Weir accompanied Nahikari in front
fixing her on the CF position meaning Nahikari disappeared completely
There was a substitution 10 minutes into the second half which changed the situation
Esther and Maite got on for Nahikari and Zornoza
Some of the best chances came from Olga’s crosses
one to Weir’s head that got defended by Thaís in 67’ and Athenea’s header attempt 4 minutes later
In 84’ there was a commotion in Real Madrid’s defensive line after Ndzana’s cross in which Marí José capitalized giving Granadilla the win
Real Madrid was seemingly exhausted and didn’t look in the mood for creating more chances
No es un gol cualquiera, es un gol de @mjperezglez con sabor a victoria, a 3⃣ puntos @UDGTenerife #LigaFenDAZN ⚽ pic.twitter.com/Hg5IGzQJAA
The end. The 14-match undefeated streak gone. Not a good way to come into the week of el clásico

Real Madrid’s start to the domestic season has been far from ideal with two crushing defeats and a draw in the opening three fixtures
Las Blancas have managed to score just once in the process
The away trip to Canary Islands wasn’t an improvement over the last league performances
as Madrid struggled to build from the back or have any sort of control over proceedings
Madrid lined up in a 4-4-2 with Asllani alongside Esther up top and Claudia Florentino playing as the defensive midfielder alongside Zornoza in a double pivot
Corredera started at RB and Lucía filled in at LB in the opening half
Ange Koko scored a goal in the 24th minute after a brilliant first touch to beat Lucía
It wasn’t until the 85th minute that Madrid would find their equalizer thanks to a deflection off the legs of Patricia Gavira from an Esther header
Madrid looked laborious in their build-up and struggled heavily against Granadilla’s high press
The defensive organization and communication on set-pieces were poor
something that hasn’t really improved since last year
While there were good moments individually on the offensive end of things
On defensive set-pieces some of her decision-making was quite poor and she looked less assured coming off of her line as well
with Martín-Prieto constantly getting the best of her via her runs into the channels
Corredera was pretty poor in defensive 1v1 situations and didn’t offer much going forward either
It was her long ball to Olga that resulted in the cross that led to the equalizer for Madrid
she struggled a bit keeping up with Martin-Prieto
Babett looked better in defensive situations and dealt with the threat of Martin-Prieto better compared to Rocío
but the German didn’t help Madrid in possession
She failed to have any sort of positive impact on the game
Lucía was beaten all ends up by the first touch of Koko and the fullback struggled in isolations overall
Lucía was limited as a result of having to play on the opposite flank
Deployed as the defensive midfielder in the double pivot alongside Zornoza
Claudia struggled to get a foothold in the game and meet the demands of the position through her positioning and passing
She lunged into challenges but didn’t win the ball
Zornoza had a really sloppy game in the middle of the pitch
She played a lot of loose passes and often gave away possession when put under pressure by Granadilla
Her set-piece deliveries were okay but the Spaniard didn’t really have a positive impact on the game
Olga’s performance improved as the game went on
she contributed defensively and helped Lucía out a fair bit and made some good runs
she played as a LWB and put in a peach of a ball to create the equalizer
Athenea in her time on the pitch did what she does best — drive forwards with the ball and take on players
She got another nutmeg for her collection in the second half and often looked like Madrid’s most threatening option in attack
Asllani’s time was cut short due to an injury scare after a hard tackle in the first half
Asllani playing as part of the front two and looked good with her pressing and reception on the turn
Despite causing the deflection that led to the goal
She often took a touch too many before releasing the ball
Madrid had an opportunity on the break with Olga making a run on the flank
but Esther didn’t play her through; instead
which allowed Granadilla to disrupt the play
Lorena had a clear impact on both ends of the pitch after coming on to replace Asllani at halftime
appearing in the right positions to pick up possession and provide support
She added a zest to Real Madrid’s passing and was good when taking on players as well
Maite made her anticipated return to first team action coming on to replace Claudia Florentino in the 60th minute of the game
Her presence brought slight improvements for Madrid in possession but it was clear that the Spaniard was rusty returning from injury
Madrid looked better on the ball with her on the pitch
Caroline Møller Hansen came on to replace Athenea in the 69th minute
She started out on the wings but then moved inside and attacked the box as Madrid looked to find a target for crosses
having a few flashes here and there when she got to touch the ball
The Mexican was brought on in the 77th min and the change of shape from Madrid meant that she was deployed in a more attacking role
She bombed down the flank and put in some decent deliveries from the right
Ivana’s introduction saw Madrid shift to a back 3 system
Ivana’s presence and ground coverage allowed for the fullbacks to turn into wing-backs and venture forward
Her introduction in the 77th minute started a series of Madrid attacks that eventually led to a goal-scoring opportunity
Madrid will look to shake off these string of bad results and build some momentum going into the coming fixtures, as there isn’t much slack to give in the race for the Champions League spots
Las Blancas will also be hoping to get their injured players back soon
The Granadilla game falls smack in the middle of two Clásicos
Real Madrid’s match vs
UD Granadilla Tenerife was postponed on January 11
the competition judge rescheduled it for March 19th
Según esto los equipos no se han puesto de acuerdo en una fecha durante el plazo asignado así que la fija el juez de competición https://t.co/GC8o5B9Cys pic.twitter.com/oE6ltCuBLY
neither club was able to come to an agreement on when to play in a timely manner
so the competition judge had to step in and set a date
Granadilla currently sit third (the final Champions League spot) in the table
This duel comes smack in the middle of a brutal stretch for Las Blancas in the month of March: Athletic Bilbao (Mar 6th), Atlético Madrid (Mar 9th)
These set of games may very well decide who qualifies for Europe next season or not
It’s safe to say that the business end of the season has arrived

16 July 2005 – Spain’s Endesa has started up the second of the three turbines at its new CCGT plant in Tenerife
located on the grounds of the Granadilla thermal power plant
which follows another similar one brought on stream in October last year
increases Endesa’s installed generation capacity on the island by 10 per cent to 769 MW.The company is also close to completing the Gran Canaria CCGT plant
gives the new power plant generation capacity of 210 MW
Endesa has 870 MW of installed capacity on the island.Endesa expects to bring the first of the CCGTs on the islands
the one on Gran Canaria during the second half of this year
and the Tenerife CCGT in 2005.The two plants will pave the way for the natural gas to be brought to the islands
as the feasibility of the use of this new fuel there depends on its use in generating electricity.Endesa’s investment in these two modern plants exceeds €360m,($445m) making it the largest industrial investment ever in the Canary Islands since the start-up of the Granadilla (Tenerife) and Barranco de Tirajana (Gran Canaria) thermal plants in 1996
A 50 year old Russian man died at the beach of La Mareta in Granadilla yesterday while practicing spear fishing
despite attempts by other swimmers at the beach and agents of the local police who tried to resuscitate him
The incident occurred at around 5.00pm yesterday afternoon
when CECOES received an emergency call requesting help for a man that had been spear fishing underwater and had suffered a suspected heart attack in the sea
Other bathers saw him floating on the surface and dragged him from the water to the shore while emergency services immediately activated the necessary resources sending them straight to the beach
local police officers and the bathers themselves practiced basic cardiopulmonary resuscitation manoeuvres to try and save him
until SUC paramedics took over with advanced CPR
Along with a doctor from a local health centre
their attempts were unsuccessful and they were only able to confirm his death
his body was then taken for official identification and autopsy to confirm the cause of death

A fire that broke out on Thursday morning (May 20), in the Chajaña ravine of the municipality of Arico, on the island of Tenerife, in the Canary Islands
so far reportedly affecting 1500 hectares (6000 acres)
is reported to be heading into the boundaries of the Teide National Park
Ángel Víctor Torres, the President of the Canary Islands
“The fire has already entered the Teide National Park
the fire affects a sparsely forested broom area
affecting the scrubland and not the pine forest”
President of the Cabildo de Tenerife, Pedro Martín
because the needles are burning and not the tops of the pines
which would make their control more complicated”
is being concentrated on one flank of the fire
while another flank is reportedly spreading towards Teide
with the main front of the fire heading towards the Barranco del Río
the director-conservator of the Teide National Park
issued a resolution this Friday through the Cabildo de Tenerife
notifying the public that several trails that pass through the park are of course closed until the fire is extinguished
