This morning saw the inaugural voyage of the P4 ferry, Prague’s first suburban ferry, which aims to offer faster connections between Prague and the village of Černošice via an already existing cruise line operating along the scenic Berounka River basin
The seasonal project is now in its testing phases; the city’s integrated transport department said in a press statement that it will recognize PID tickets for passengers traveling to Černošice-Mokropsy via the new Prague-Kazín suburban ferry
approximately 450 meters from the 243 bus line and cruises towards Černošice- Mokropsy
located 600 meters from the railway station Černošice-Mokropsy which operates on line S7
Passengers will be able to combine the ferry with trains to Černošice or the bus line to Lipence and can travel on a standard Prague transport ticket valid for the first outer tariff zone
SMS tickets are not available for use during the testing period
The new P4 ferry will operate daily between about 9:50 and 19:00 at intervals of 60 minutes; it is a wheelchair accessible boat with a capacity of 40 passengers. The timetable can be found here
While the ferry is being established to offer easier connections along the route
it’s also good news for anyone planning a summer day trip—the Černošice area is rich with hiking trails
Currently, there are several other ferries operating in Prague on the Vltava, see our article here for more information
