With the unveiling of the new Centrum Chodov shopping center this week
one of the Czech Republic’s biggest shopping centers gets about 70% bigger (though it still falls short of the Letňany shopping center in total floor size).
the shopping center has unveiled something especially impressive: the biggest multiplex in the Czech Republic
an 18-screen “megaplex” with state-of-the-art technology that is screening films as of today.
The line between a megaplex and multiplex is the number of screening halls
though some sources make the distinction at 14 screens and others at 20 screens
which the new location falls short of.
make it the biggest cinema in the Czech Republic
Among the new offerings at Cinema City Chodov are a 4DX cinema
a concept that already exists in Prague at Cinema City Nový Smíchov and boasts motion seats that jostle the viewer
bursts of air from the back of your seat that mimic gunshots
and some (usually quite unpleasant) smells.
But certainly not the way to see a serious film
and the effects can get annoying during movies with longer running times.
4DX tickets run for 285 CZK (315 CZK for 3D presentations)
Tickets to other halls run for the usual 189 CZK (215 CZK for 3D
and another 19 CZK for the glasses).
The new Cinema City Chodov location also features three cinemas with Dolby Atmos Sound
the industry’s leading surround sound system that allows for up to 128 separate audio tracks.
Press releases also tout “state of the art” laser projectors at Cinema City Chodov, but don’t reveal further details; on Facebook, the company identified the projectors as 2K Barco Laser models
but one would hope that at least some of the screening halls feature 4K technology.
Three VIP halls – a rival to CineStar Anděl’s Gold Class
perhaps – are described as having “even more comfortable” seating and their own dining facilities
making the location ideal for private events
Each VIP hall has 40 reclining seats.
VIP tickets at Cinema City Chodov run for a eye-opening 550 CZK
but include a little something extra: an all-you-can-eat (and drink!) buffet for 30 minutes before the projection and during the length of the movie
The all-you-can eat options include popcorn
and main courses that include meat dishes, pasta

The very first Lego Store in the Czech Republic opened on Thursday at Prague's Westfield Chodov shopping center
and it includes a few surprises and gifts for local fans of the popular Danish brand
The presence of an official Lego Store in Prague has been long-awaited
and its late debut is somewhat ironic given the company's presence in the Czech Republic
Lego has just five manufacturing plants in the world
and one of them is just outside Prague in Kladno
at a factory that employs around 2,500 people
It was at the Kladno plant that the centerpiece of Chodov's Lego Store was constructed: a brick-built representation of St
Wenceslas modeled after the statue on Prague's Wenceslas Square
constructed by 13 designers at the Kladno factory over the course of 580 hours
and was made with a whopping 269,381 individual Lego bricks
It includes a button that can be pressed to make St
The Lego model also includes a mosaic of the National Museum in Prague as a backdrop
along with brick portraits of other landmarks across the Czech Republic
See if you can name them all on your next visit to the store
Upon opening on Thursday and throughout the weekend
Lego Store employees maintained a queue at the entrance to manage the number of guests allowed inside
we waited about five minutes to get into the store
The first 1,000 customers to make a purchase at the new Lego Store were given a unique 4x2 "I love Lego Store Prague" brick tile. Through November 9 and while supplies last, customers that spend 3,000 crowns also receive a 402-piece Lego Store set
which is only given away when a new store is opened and cannot otherwise be purchased from Lego
Lego VIP members that spend 1,300 also receive a Fun and Funky VIP pack of assorted pieces. You can register as a VIP online or in the store
and accumulate points that can be redeemed for unique gifts or vouchers worth about five percent of what you've spent
And visitors to the Lego Store at Westfield Chodov can also obtain a new "Prague" stamp in their Lego Passport
or get a new passport if you haven't previously collected one from another Lego location
Prague's new Lego Store boasts the latest November releases from Lego, including a brick-built playable foosball table that runs 6,399 crowns
While the new Lego Store at Chodov has all of the brand's latest sets, however, we were a little disappointed to find that it didn't have all of the sets exclusively available from Lego, such as the hard-to-find Daily Bugle
was also absent from Lego Store Prague's shelves
Prague's new Lego store offers local fans a number of unique opportunities including the ability to build your own minifigure (79 crowns for one or 199 crowns for three) and the "pick a brick" wall
where you can fill up on all the individual pieces you might be missing (269 crowns for a small cup
Prague's Lego store will also offer special promotions
including build events where you can create an item in-store and bring it home for free
The first of these events runs next weekend
Lego Store Prague is open at the Westfield Chodov shopping center

People around the Czech Republic will be enjoying Christmas dinner with family this evening
but not all have someone to celebrate with
For those who would be alone at the dinner table this evening
Prague's Westfield Chodov shopping center is cooking up a traditional Christmas meal with warm company
and others who aren't able to celebrate with loved ones are among those who will be enjoying Christmas dinner at the shopping center this evening
Westfield Chodov has been organizing the Christmas dinner for those in need for the past five years
120 people had confirmed their participation in the event as of last weekend
"Christmas Eve in Chodov is a very nice and important tradition for us
when we can spread some Christmas cheer for everyone who might feel lonely for various reasons," Westfield Chodov marketing manager Kateřina Kleslová says in a press release
"Thanks to long-term cooperation with non-profit organizations and local communities
we have managed to increase the number of guests every year
In the five years that we have been organizing the Christmas community gathering
this is the first year that more than one hundred people are expected to arrive."
Guests at Westfield Chodov today will be treated to a traditional three-course Christmas dinner that includes fish soup
An accompanying program will also provide some festive entertainment
The Czech National Symphony Orchestra will be on hand to play some Christmas favorites
and famous faces are also expected to participate
Past editions of the event have included guests such as Monkey Business frontman Matěj Ruppert
"A big thank you goes to everyone who is involved in the organization of the charity event
or volunteers and colleagues from [Westfield Chodov]," says Kleslová
"Many of them are physically with us at the shopping center on Christmas Day
and help serve the festive menu or handing out Christmas gifts
Christmas Eve at Chodov is a truly an unforgettable experience for the participants."
The shops at Westfield Chodov (and most other commercial locations in the Czech Republic) closed at around noon today for the three-day Christmas holiday
More information about the Christmas dinner at the shopping center, and photos from previous years, can be found at the official website
Our living spaces can exert a powerful influence on our moods
Architecture and interior design have the potential to inspire; to move us
and reflect our own unique outlook on life
One Prague development, in the well-connected and increasingly sought-after Chodov district, is being created with this design philosophy in mind. The Skyline project by renowned Czech real estate developer PSN offers a range of modern apartments which can be fitted out in interior designs influenced by some of Europe’s iconic cities of style
the development boasts a range of amenities intended to foster a sense of community among residents
With prices that are more affordable than at many other modern developments springing up in the Czech capital
Skyline provides an opportunity to secure home ownership in one of Prague’s prime residential locations
Everyone’s idea of the perfect home is different
Whether it’s Scandinavian notions of “hygge”
a focused approach to interior design can dramatically transform the atmosphere of even the smallest apartment
PSN has made this concept central to its Skyline development
creating three different interior design inspirations which “breathe elegance
comfort and creativity” and “give life to a place where you will feel great.” The templates draw on design principles influenced by three great European cities: Berlin
“Berlin” is characterized by a “balancing between tradition and modernity”
representing a city of artists and creatives drawn by a lifestyle that’s exciting and extravagant
flats designed using this template will feature vibrant colors coupled with refined furnishings
draws inspiration from the world-famous principles of Scandinavian design
A minimalist approach making heavy use of wood materials and pastel tones create an atmosphere of comfort
“Prague” makes use of darker wood and stone furnishings to reflect the rugged terrain of the Vltava valley
This concept also draws on the traditional craftsmanship and warm tones that pervade many of Prague’s historic properties
channeling the city’s characteristic mix of historic and modern architectural elements
Apartments currently on sale in the Skyline development comprise 1+kk and 2+kk spaces of varying sizes
most of which are available for prices between CZK 3,700,000 and CZK 6,500,000
Chodov is an increasingly attractive destination for those seeking a home in Prague
Well-connected with metro and tram networks and boasting a rich variety of urban attractions and amenities
the district stands removed from the hustle and bustle of the city center
This makes it the ideal place for young professionals
families and students who want to make the most of Prague life while enjoying a greater sense of privacy and tranquility
The Skyline project is surrounded by hideaways in nature
including Botič natural park and Hostivař Forest Park
Other natural attractions include Košíkovský potok and the nearby reservoir
The area is ideal for dog walkers and those who simply love heading into nature to escape the noise of city life
with the Kateřinky hiking trail close at hand
as well as opportunities for water sports at Hostivařská přehrada or Jedenáctka Chodov water park
Cycle paths are easily accessible from Skyline
one of the longest continuous routes in all of Prague
running along the Vltava river and through various nearby parks and forests
PSN representatives say the Skyline project will appeal to young people
The assortment of 1+kk and 2+kk apartments makes it an accessible place for young buyers to get on the housing ladder and experience quality home ownership in the Czech capital
A sense of community connecting residents will be enhanced by various shared amenities
including a fully-equipped gym and yoga point
and a roof terrace providing the perfect place to soak up the atmosphere and chat with neighbors
Owners of selected units will benefit from cellar storage spaces
All residents will be able to use laundry and drying rooms
eliminating the need for a personal washing machine or dryer
The development will feature a room for stroller and bike storage
as well as parking for cars and motorbikes
Selected units come with a small fenced garden or garden beds with soil
providing an opportunity to incorporate nature into day-to-day life
With apartments still available across eight floors of the building
PSN is encouraging those interested in the Skyline development to lose no time in enquiring
Attractive financing options are available to help prospective buyers turn their Prague property-ownership dreams into a reality

Preliminary damage caused by the fire is estimated at around CZK 100 million
The investigation of the amount of damage and the cause of the fire will take place tomorrow morning

Anyone passing through Chodov Mall Friday morning would have noticed a queue stretching from the metro all the way to the first-floor retail area
Mallgoers were lining up to visit the newly opened iStyle store — an official reseller of Apple products — that opened in the Chodov Westfield shopping center this morning
Although there are several iStyle shops in the country
since this is the first “Apple Premium Partner” store to open in the country
The Chodov branch represents a significant step forward
"The fact that we were the first in the region of Central and Eastern Europe to obtain the status of Apple Premium Partner and thus bring an Apple flagship store to the Czech Republic is a great success and a significant step forward for us.”
There are differences between an Apple Premium Reseller and Apple Premium Partner. The latter is controlled directly by Apple itself, with the U.S. company determining the exact number of employees and their precise job roles, writes Ondrej Holzman of CzechCrunch
will also more closely resemble those in the U.S
this move connects Apple Premium Partners more closely with Apple
Customers of the new Chodov store will feel like they are in an official Apple store
and other new releases are on display for visitors to try out
and the store plans to organize workshops open to the public
The staff has a higher level of specialty and training
and the store also offers Apple-authorized product service
An escape game offering gaming experience in the form of a dystopian atmosphere
futuristic environments and interactive puzzles and effects that draw you into the action
The network of iStyle stores will soon expand on top of the 10 stores currently in operation across the country
Apple's plans include at least one new shop in the center of Prague
The store, which will be the country’s second official “Apple Premium Reseller,” will be located in a glass building designed by renowned architect Zaha Hadid
The building is planned to open to the public in the second half of next 2023
Although speculation abounded as to whether the new branch near Masaryk station would be an official Apple store
iStyle said that it would not be the case.
Until Apple opens an official flagship store
people living in Czechia will have to travel to other countries to get the full Apple-store experience
With Christmas markets opening around the capital
Prague has truly embraced winter and the festive spirit
and Santa (or Baby Jesus!) ice skating is another beloved local activity this time of year
With over 20 ice rinks scattered throughout the city
you’re truly spoiled for choice when it comes to finding a place to glide across the ice
Almost all rinks offer hot drinks and snacks to enjoy during or after your skating session
Here’s what to look out for this year and where to go based on what you’re looking for
the Rašínovo nábřeží rink on Náplavka in Prague 2
lets you glide away against the scenic backdrop of the Vltava River and its surrounding majesty
The Letná Plain ice rink offers panoramic views of the city
and the Žižkov TV Tower ice rink in Prague 3 is nicely illuminated in the evenings
the Havlíčkovy Sady ice rink in Prague's leafy Vinohrady is surrounded by beautiful greenery and close to the elegant Villa Grébovka
The rink on Wenceslas Square has views of the National Museum (it can get crowded though)
If you want to get in the party mood while donning your skates
try out River Rink Karlín in Prague 8
also offers live music amid a scenic view of the city
will also offer a special "Winter Village," complete with stalls
If you want a large space to roam on your skates
try out the ice rink on Letná Plain in Prague 7
Other large rinks include the Na Františku rink in the city center
which comes in at a very similar 40 x 20 meters
the Galerie Harfa rink (at the top of the shopping center) in Prague 9 offers pleasant views of the surroundings that are certainly worth seeing
If you want to save some cash during the pricey Christmas period
which is the only rink city-wide to offer completely free entry to both children and adults
be sure to check out Sady Svatopluka Čecha and Ice rink Jammertal (Folimanka Park)
which offer kids free entry and affordable prices for adults
Perhaps you'd prefer an indoor skating rink if the cold and wind get too much for you
Prague 7's Výstaviště will have an indoor rink until end-March 2025
and the Ice Arena Kateřinky over in Prague 11 gives you a chance to glide in a large indoor space
Bear in mind that there are many indoor ice rinks open in Prague all-year round (like Ice Arena Letňany and Škoda Ice Rink) where you can skate not only at Christmas
Find below a comprehensive list of all ice rinks open to the public in Prague this year
NOTE: The end dates of the ice rinks are heavily dependent on weather conditions; warm weather in January or February may see the rinks close sooner

Prague expats were given a welcome dose of international food products at affordable prices when British discount grocer Iceland opened in the Czech Republic in 2011
the chain would open about a dozen branches in and around residential areas of Prague
Iceland may now be closing down its local operations
and the end of the chain in the Czech Republic may be coming sooner than anticipated
Numerous signs point to the Iceland fully ceasing Czech operations in the near future
though an official statement has yet to be made and the company has yet to respond to requests for comment
At least two Prague stores have closed in recent weeks: Iceland branches in Hostivice and by the shopping center in Chodov (another Chodov store remains open
We spoke to two employees at a branch in Hloubětín yesterday
who confirmed that the company was closing its Czech stores
would be closing by the last week in April or first week in May; even employees had not been given a definitive date
Guest comments on Iceland.cz's latest social media post
Just last year, Iceland launched its own e-shop, following successful collaboration with Czech delivery service Košík.cz
But after only months of operation, that e-shop is no longer working. As of writing, just 15 Iceland products are in stock on Košík.cz
slim pickings although the delivery service never offered the store's full range of products
These latest developments may be the culmination of a series of unfortunate events that have affected numerous local businesses in recent years
as shipping delays from the UK forced the store to look for alternatives to fresh food products
Irish cheddar replaced English cheeses in the store's fridges
Prague's other alternative for British foods
removed their refrigerated goods section altogether
the coronavirus pandemic and related restrictions have impacted numerous businesses
especially those importing goods from abroad
And surging energy prices following the war in Ukraine may have been the proverbial nail in the coffin
While it may not have had an impact on its Czech stores, Iceland faced one other external threat in recent years: Iceland, the country, which filed a trademark dispute against the British retailer over use of "Iceland" within the EU. In 2019, the country won back the right to use its own name, at least within the European Union
If you want to get your fill of Iceland's trademark British frozen food in Prague
you might want to hurry: your local branch may not be there for much longer
Passengers on Prague's metro system can now use mobile and data services in LTE quality in over half of the city's stations and adjacent tunnels
coverage was extended to Chodov and Háje metro stations making the total count of underground stations covered by LTE signal 33 out of 61 total stations
Prague's transit authority (DPP) said in a press release
DPP and a consortium of operators (O2 Czech Republic
Vodafone Czech Republic) and CETIN are working to expand the LTE network in other parts of the Prague metro as well
The LTE signal will be extended to Opatov by the end of November; the city is currently finishing construction work on this metro station which includes modernization and barrier-free access
With the addition of LTE signal coverage to Opatov
the high-speed network will be available to passengers throughout line C from Nádraží Holešovice to the final station in Háje.
The Národní třída and Náměstí Republiky stations should receive coverage in November
making the LTE signal available across the entire section of route B from Smíchovské nádraží to Českomoravská
passengers LTE network will also service the Náměstí Míru
and Hůrka stations. By the end of this year
the LTE signal should cover the metro in the wider center of Prague. Early next year
the high-speed LTE network will be expanded to Flora
Current coverage of stations and adjacent tunnels of the Prague metro by LTE network:
Good Friday this year falls on on April 19th and Easter Monday on April 22nd – with the Czech Republic recognizing Good Friday as a public holiday since 2016
that means four days off for the Easter holiday instead of three
For schoolchildren the holiday is even longer: elementary and secondary schools are closed on Thursday
A law also took effect in 2016 stating that all large shops – over 200 square meters in size – must close on seven significant state holidays including Easter Monday
Though some businesses have found loopholes around the law, for those who need to stock up for the Monday Easter celebration
it’s probably wise to head to the stores over the weekend
Large retailers can remain open on Good Friday and this year many of them are extending opening hours Thursday-Sunday (including some Globus locations) to accommodate the “Green Thursday” shopping rush
Smaller shops and e-shops may remain open on Monday
for instance will be available from 7 am to 11 pm on Monday
Many large shopping centers such as Chodov and Palladium will stay open throughout the Easter holiday
though any hypermarkets or other stores located within those centers which are larger than 200 square meters must stay shuttered
Victoria’s Secret will open a Czech store in Prague’s Westfield Chodov shopping center in May this year
So far the lingerie chain's only local presence has been at Prague's Václav Havel Airport
The international lingerie brand will join fast-food company Popeyes, which is also entering the Czech market this year
partner and head of the CEE retail agency team at real estate consultancy Cushman & Wakefield
said Victoria’s Secret has been successful globally due to its trendy and highly fashionable products at affordable prices in an attractive environment
“Its stores are always one of the centerpieces and primary attractions of shopping centers and the high street,” he added
The brand is also driven by strong product storytelling
reinforced by fashion shows that are highly shared on social media
“Its stores attract very high foot traffic
are highly ‘Instagram-able,’ and generate a lot of attention,” he added
But social media can also have a downside. The chain has been facing bad publicity after a song by former American Idol singer Jax released in the summer of 2022 went viral
The song “Victoria’s Secret” questions the lingerie chain’s impact on women’s self-confidence
The brand’s CEO Amy Hauk responded to the criticism on Instagram
“I can wholeheartedly say that we are all committed to building a community where everyone feels seen and respected,” she said
The Czech Republic offers an attractive retail environment for multinational corporations in the fashion industry and other sectors
“The abundance of global companies here is the natural outcome of long-term growth in the purchasing power of the Czech population
along with the development of a business climate in which companies can prosper,” he said
Prague in particular is a major European and global travel destination
where tourists account for a significant share of foreign stores’ clientele
Foreigners living in Czechia will be well aware that encounters with Czech public administration – online or in-person – can often be a daunting and tricky task
However, the Ministry of the Interior’s new foreigners’ reservation system (FRS) in Czechia aims to make the process of finding online information and making appointments with the Interior Ministry easier.
The new, updated interface – now launched – appears far cleaner and has more features than the current, soon-to-be-defunct website
and more information will be added to the web pages in the coming days and weeks
after filling out their personal details – including place of residence and passport or other identification number – users can select the date on which they want to make an appointment
shows the dates and times of available slots
Reservations at Interior Ministry offices made for days after July 1 will need to be made on the new site
users must create a new account with an e-mail
regardless if they already have an account on the older portal
Users will still only be able to make appointments at the specific Interior Ministry of Office that covers their district (for example
people living in Prague 2 need to visit the Žukovského office
and those with residence in Prague 5 must visit the Chodov branch)
Expats.cz presents the best lawyers and legal services providers in Prague, Czech Republic
The updated format will include more detailed and better-explained guidance about different types of visas and residence permits
The new FRS system also provides information about how one can extend their residence permit and has a section devoted to third-country nationals who need to report changes
The new portal also has a web page specifically for the Adaptation and Integration Course (AIC)
which is “compulsory for third-country citizens to whom no exception applies.” It provides detailed information in a reader-friendly format on the deadline for taking the course
Another big benefit of the new website is its special “Forms and Documents” section
which has all printable forms in one section (listed under different subsections
leaving foreigners needing to navigate the often confusing (and sometimes poorly worded) web pages of the Interior Ministry website
The new site also has a “Frequently Asked Questions” section
which helps clarify queries about topics ranging from insurance to requirements for students
A frequently cited gripe non-Czechs have is the difficulty of navigating Czechia’s sometimes-rigid administration system
The new portal for foreigners aims to make the process
aka hot yoga: if I wanted to get that sweaty
when I heard about flying yoga – also known as anti-gravity yoga
and yoga-in-the-air – I have to admit I was curious
Was this new exercise craze just a gimmick or did it have unique benefits
the child who was forbidden to have ballet lessons because according to her parents she had the agility of a fairy elephant
the acrobat and gymnast who invented anti-gravity yoga
even a complete clutz like me is capable of surviving a class
everyone can do it,” he told the Daily Mail
I realised that this really ought to be called ‘yoga in a hammock with handles attached to it.’ Not exactly catchy
Our instructor is positioned in the centre of the room sitting in her funky purple hammock while we students have to be content with plain white ones
A few students have managed to lie down in this wobbly contraption but I even found this simple goal tricky to accomplish
I do eventually manage to stretch out flat and swing gently from side to side
The aim of flying yoga – besides making you look silly – is to help you perform the more challenging inversion postures (such as the headstand) without struggling for months or years to develop the necessary core body strength to lift your legs and torso above your head
Reputed to have numerous health benefits such as improved circulation and immune system functioning
inversions are a fundamental part of any yoga practice
would I finally manage these seemingly impossible asanas
Many of the postures in aero yoga were variations of classic poses
There was a fantastic version of downward facing dog in which I lay in the hammock
that made me feel I really was flying like a yogi superhero
Other positions did require me to flip upside down acrobatically
having wrapped the hammock around my waist for support
then weave my legs around the two wires hanging from the ceiling
My first attempt didn’t go so well and I found myself sliding out of the contraption onto the mat below
I remain swinging upside down with the skill of a trapeze artist – or at least
the like of which I’ve never succeed in doing without the help of apparatus
These assisted inversions are great fun and despite the odd mishap
the fabric support can dig in painfully as you’re placing all your weight on it: our instructor claimed that this discomfort fades over time
I sit in the lotus position in the hammock
I’m supposed to be visualising my chakras but I’m distracted by the fact I feel somewhat seasick
Gwyneth Paltrow never mentioned anything about that particular side effect while blogging about the benefits of this fitness craze
Flying yoga was a surprisingly liberating experience
It made me reflect on how easy to approach the conventional asanas in a po-faced fashion
as a woman who likes to keep her feet on the ground
I think I’ll stick to non-gravity defying forms of exercise for the foreseeable future
Coffee shops chain Narcoffee Roasters founded by Marcelus Suciu and Dan Isai from Cluj
It is situated in the main entrance of the Commercial center Chodov Mall

Narcoffee Roasters Prague is the fifth unit from the network of Cluj- based project and the first one outside Romania in less than three months since its opening in Bucharest
the two entrepreneurs aims to open another franchise
Also in short time will start the works for the second Narcoffee Roasters unit in Prague
„Narcoffee Roasters is an attractive concept for Europe due to the special product, the brand and the design specific to the concept. We are in discussions to have more franchises in more European cities and we hope than 2018 we’ll say Narcoffee Roasters is an European coffee shops chain launched in Cluj,” says Isai.
„Prague is an European city with expectations on highest quality coffee
It motivates and encourages us,” says Nica

The entire line was created with input from gynecologists and sexologists
While Marešová believes that people have always been open to her project
she says her erotic toys have gained wider acceptance since debuting in 2013
“It’s much better now than five to seven years ago
People are still shy about this topic but more than anything they are just really curious about how it works.”

Anyone who’s feeling a bit bashful about purchasing a sex toy at the mall
across from the C&A and near the Fruittissimo
will have nowhere to hide in this tiny glass shopfront
It’s very important to talk about this because it’s not just about the toys it’s about healing and health.”
The history of the vibrator in Czechoslovakia differs from that of the Western tradition where it was originally marketed as a medical tool for both men and women

“I think you had to buy them on the black market,” says Marešová
“The Czech Republic was influenced by German taste
especially after the Velvet Revolution when there were so many products coming here
Marešová’s choice of materials are what make her product unique — encased in silicone
flexible and smooth to the touch the Whoop.de.doo might remind you of a vibrating Brâncuși sculpture
and featuring three motors for calibrating hand-held thrills
Marešová responds: “I wanted to have different prices but I developed everything in the Czech Republic and produced everything here and couldn’t make it cheaper
If I make it cheaper I can’t achieve the same results or control the production
The price still hasn’t stopped her from racking up thousands of customers to date
a wide demographic ranging from mothers recovering from childbirth and an older generation of Czech women

“I am very surprised that we have not only young customers but also women over sixty who use the Venus Balls to address incontinence and strengthen pelvic muscles,” says Marešová
if not exactly make the Whoop.de.doo a household name
possibly create the exposure needed to attract an investor
“I want people to ask not ‘Do you have an erotic toy?’ but do you have a Whoop.de.doo?” she says

though a July 15 post on the company’s Facebook page put out a call for employees at its OC Harfa location
A representative of Galerie Harfa said, “Cinnabon is not open yet, we hope that will be open as soon as possible.” They encouraged local fans to follow their Instagram account @galerieharfa for Cinnabon-related news and updates
While they have not yet released a specific date
the same spokesperson told us they would be opening at the end of August

This summer American ice-cream makers Breyers launched a Cinnabon-flavored frozen dairy dessert
No word on if it’ll be available at either of the Prague kiosks but one of the serving suggestions offered by the company in its promotional materials is a cinnamon roll ice cream cone
reminiscent of the Czech — or more accurately Slovak — trdelník
In fact, an ice-cream-filled version of the ubiquitous funnel cake, known as the trdelník ice cream chimney, became a viral sensation in early 2016 when Old Town bakery Good Food put it on the menu
In 2014, a venture selling similar trdelník creations launched in Brno. Trdlokafe has seen significant growth over the past couple of years, according to Czech Forbes.
While it already boasts over thirty cafes selling coffee drinks and a wide variety of ice cream and funnel cakes throughout the Czech Republic, Austria, and Slovakia, the young entrepreneurs behind the business recently launched a unique delivery service allowing customers to order up a coffee break for home delivery — prepared by a barista from the back of a specially equipped car.

Prague Integrated Transport (PID) has recently unveiled a modified version of its planned new metro network map
only shows the subway line on which the passenger is currently traveling
The idea comes after PID in November presented the public with a completely revamped map – nicknamed the “dachshund” for its long appearance – showing the capital’s three metro lines (A
PID will consider metro users’ honest opinions on the new map and then
we have prepared an alternative version for you before the upcoming public survey
The scheme of the overall routing of the metro lines with the center detail has also been modified to improve readability,” PID explained on its Facebook account
Passengers can see the draft new designs at the Palmovka
The maps will also appear on select metro carriages across the PID network
The transport company also says it will introduce a trial run of “completely new vertical maps of the metro lines” at JzP
an in-person user survey will also take place at the recently reopened JzP station
some people have criticized the new draft maps for being “too dark.” Others point out that a single-line map makes it harder for plan out a route (that involves other lines) on the network
Various social media users have also pointed out that Prague remains behind the curve: European capitals (such as Paris) have luminous metro maps in carriages that indicate with a light the next station that the train will stop at
PID's initiative stems from the ongoing Legible Prague project
which aims to make overall public navigation in Prague easier
The trial maps will run until the end of March. You may also provide feedback on the new designs here
Earlier this year, we reported that American clothing retailer Gap would be opening its first stores in the Czech Republic in 2020
Though Irish discount store Primark has pushed back its plans for opening in Prague this year
Gap quietly opened its first two locations in the Czech Republic this weekend with stores at Prague's Westfield Chodov and Ostrava's Forum Nová Karolina shopping centers
shops and services in the Czech Republic have generally been closed for most of the past two months due to the country's anti-COVID-19 measures
Gap opened its first two Czech locations with the easing of those measures
"Interest has exceeded our expectations," CS Retail 1969 CEO Jan Fahoun stated in a press release
CS Retail 1969 is Gap's exclusive distributor on the Czech and Slovak markets
"It was confirmed that although the Gap brand has never officially operated on the Czech market
The Gap location in Westfield Chodov is split into two stores focused on adult and children's fashion
Citing a lack of options on the local market
Fahoun states that interest in the boy's collection is especially high
an additional Gap store is slated to open next week at the Nový Smíchov shopping center in central Prague
Additional Gap stores are expected to open across the Czech Republic and Slovakia over the coming years
also owns brands including Banana Republic
which could be headed to a Czech shopping center near you in the future
If you aren't near a Czech Gap location, or don't want to brave the holiday mall experience due to COVID-19 concerns, Gap also offers a Czech e-shop with an expanded selection of goods and free shipping for registered customers
dark winter blankets the city and a freezing
the idea of moving around outdoors for longer than absolutely necessary seems like a less than promising proposition
being penned up for several months in their apartment is certain to be difficult
The cold weather means no more kicking around the football
as for just about every outdoor activity that one must abstain from due to the season
there is an equal indoor counterpart available in the winter
one can play Fotbálek or stolní fotbal (aka Foosball)
one picks up the heavy ball and participates in some bowling
(mercifully spelled the same and sounding pretty much the same in Czech as in English)
some of the most popular and common indoor games in Prague include Billiard (aka Billiards or Pool) and šipky (darts)
Loads of indoor games exist that can get the competitive juices flowing again
and the places where they can be played are surprisingly abundant throughout the city
Of course some venues offer a higher quality atmosphere and others offer a more seedy charm
The variety is definitely there for you to choose from
Perhaps the most impressive of all of the venues in Central Prague is the grandiose
yet dilapidated Billiard Centrum v Cípu hidden in a dingy little alley at V Cípu 1
The entry view to the club is almost breathtaking
as one looks upon impossibly high ceilings decorated with crystal chandeliers and down below a sea of green felt surfaced pool tables
multi-leveled building are several rooms with more pool tables (75-125CZK/hr) a bowling alley (200-300CZK/hr)
and then a ping pong room (80CZK/hr) that boasts seven tables
As you look for the ping pong tables upstairs you may want to leave a trail of breadcrumbs to find your way back
Other games on offer include foosball and electronic and steel dart boards
There are dozens of billiard halls throughout Prague
meaning there is probably one just around the corner from where you live
Some of the nicer ones include Megasportsbar in the Chodov shopping center (95-125CZK/hr)
and Akademie Billiard near Letenské Náměstí
As is the rule in any country you play pool
beware of gambling with the guy that brings his own stick and is nicknamed after a city
Should you be searching for a bowling alley with an old school vibe then Bowbar Bowling in Žižkov will provide you with what you want
They offer 10 pin bowling at reasonable prices (180-290CZK/hr) and their shorter than standard lanes are certain to help raise your score to new peaks
modern bowling alley there are several throughout Prague
Bowling VIP Centrum near Náměstí Republiky has all the modern amenities and is at a great location for those living near the center
Prices are a bit higher than other bowling alleys (360-450CZK/hr)
but if you want a top notch bowling alley then this is one of the best places in Prague
Dispersed throughout the city are several other great bowling alleys
such as Bowling Chodov (150-290CZK/hr) located near the Chodov shopping center; Planet Bowling (175-375CZK/hr) and Best Bowling Centrum at the Zličín shopping center (190-390CZK/hr)
All places will supply you the necessities at no extra cost
meaning those horribly goofy bowling shoes and your choice of several different “house balls.”
Should you go all the way out to the Zličín shopping center for some bowling then you should make a trip across the food court and check out Svět Zábavy
a video arcade and game parlor known for its wide selection of games such as foosball
darts and the difficult to find but always entertaining air hockey (20CZK per game) and table hockey (20CZK per game)
your best bet is to go to your nearest gym and inquire about whether they have a table
There are tables which can be found at Hit Fit Flora (100CZK/hr) near the Flora Metro; Sport Centrum Evropská (90CZK/hr) close to Divoká Šárka and a cool
friendly spot with one table at a place called Vyletna in Letná Park near the beer garden (80CZK)
as some places try to sneak in a charge for paddles and a ball
And it´s always better to phone ahead and reserve the table
So the next time you are looking for something fun and active to do on a dreary
snowy Saturday; head out to one of these warm
welcoming locales for some table sports and work yourself up a nice mini-sweat
It´s good for the athletes that need a little competition to get them going as well as for the people that prefer activities which can be done with a beer in hand
