Iconic singer-songwriter Bruce Springsteen is set to electrify Prague once again on Tuesday
marking his first performance in the Czech capital in twelve years
E Street Band guitarist Steven Van Zandt will get local fans in the mood with a special appearance at Prague's Hard Rock Café
Springsteen was forced to cancel a concert in Marseilles on Saturday at the last minute
citing "vocal issues and under doctor’s direction." The show will be rescheduled to a later date
The Prague concert is still on for Tuesday
with local fans hoping the singer has enough time to recover

It's also the only stop in Central Europe on Springsteen's current European tour
The Prague concert has been eagerly awaited since it was announced last year
Springsteen has solidified his place as one of the most influential musicians of all time
Organizer Live Nation expects an estimated 60,000 people to attend the Springsteen concert

TV fans will also know Van Zandt from his role as Silvio Dante on HBO's The Sopranos
Van Zandt's concert at Hard Rock Café on Monday is free to attend
The evening will also feature a tasting event of teas and coffees from Van Zandt's own brand
adding a unique twist to the hard rock experience

Electronic music band Depeche Mode will come to Prague as part of their just-announced world tour
They will be at Letiště Letňany on July 30 to support their upcoming album
Tickets go on sale to the general public on Oct
Previous shows in Prague have filled the capacity of its stadiums
but the outdoor show will allow for larger crowds
some concerts drew over 50,000 people to Letiště Letňany
not counting those who listened from outside the gates
The band now consists of vocalist Dave Gahan and keyboard player Martin Gore
Founding member Andy Fletcher passed away earlier this year
There are also touring members who are not officially part of the group
the band’s 15th studio album and the first since “Spirit” in 2017
“We started work on this project early in the pandemic
and its themes were directly inspired by that time
we decided to continue as we’re sure this is what he would have wanted
and that has really given the project an extra level of meaning.” Gahan said
We’re really looking forward to sharing it with you soon
and we can’t wait to present it to you live at the shows next year,” he said
The Memento Mori tour will be Depeche Mode’s 19th tour and their first in over five years
the 2017-18 Global Spirit Tour was its longest to date with the band playing to over 3 million fans over the course of 130 shows across Europe and North America
They came to Prague twice in during that tour
playing Eden Arena in May 2017 and O2 Arena in January 2018
Both shows featured a mix of then-new material such as "Where's the Revolution" plus hits like "Personal Jesus," "Never Let Me Down Again," and "Walking In My Shoes." The band so far has played a total of 11 concerts in Prague
Depeche Mode has strong connections to Prague and a fan base that goes back to the 1980s
The band played at Sportovní hala ČSTV (now called Sportovní hala Fortuna) in Výstaviště in Prague 7 on March 11
Chris Norman of the band Smokie was supposed to come
Norman’s management offered Depeche Mode to state-run concert company Pragokoncert as a replacement
They likely did not know much about Depeche Mode
as the music wasn’t widely available through official means – though two albums had been available as imports at the Polish Information Cultural Center
new then from the active bootleg music scene and from underground clubs
There was even a slang word for Depeche Mode fans who wore black clothes and emulated the band’s hairstyles: "Depešák."
When word got out that Depeche Mode was coming
interest was enormous with hundreds of thousands of fans seeking tickets via official and unofficial channels
But only 15,000 lucky people were able to see the show
Police even warned ticket vendors to be on the lookout for drug addicts and other anti-social types and said that security measures around the concert would be extreme
there were no significant incidents aside from some pushing and shoving from people trying to get up front at the start of the show
The band returned a short while later for a now-famous photoshoot
The band then had four members – Gahan and Gore plus the late Andy Fletcher and drummer Alan Wilder
They came with their photographer Anton Corbijn to shoot black-and-white pictures for the 1990 photo book “Depeche Mode: Strangers.”
Pictures show the band at the cafe and waiting room in Prague’s main train station Hlavní nádraží

80,000 people gathered in Prague yesterday, but it wasn’t another in a long line of protests against Prime Minister Andrej Babiš – – it was to see Ed Sheeran
The English singer-songwriter was greeted by the biggest concert crowd that Prague has seen in the last 15 years yesterday during the first of two concerts held at the Letňany Airport grounds
The estimated 80,000 concertgoers tops the previous record for Letňany Airport
which was 60,000 attendees for a performance by AC/DC in 2016
It also vaults Sheeran into ranks of Prague’s most-attended concerts ever
The Rolling Stones drew nearly 127,000 people to Strahov Stadium in 1995
while Michael Jackson pulled 125,000 to Letná Park in 1996
A similar amount of attendees reportedly saw Pink Floyd at Strahov Stadium in 1994
Those are the only ticketed Prague concerts to top 100,000 people
however; Sheeran’s 80,000 puts him in the neighborhood of concerts by U2 (1997)
and four other performances by the Stones (1990
The Prague performances by the Rolling Stones and Michael Jackson in the mid-90s
rank among the world’s top 15 highest-attended ticketed concerts for a single artist in history
If you missed Sheeran’s concert last night
he’ll be performing at Letňany Airport again tonight (July 8) for his second and final Prague performance; after the July 7 concert sold out within hours of pre-sale
Prague Police will close the roads surrounding Letňany Airport from 18:00
and dispatch additional forces to the area to ensure security measures
Concertgoers are advised to take the metro (Line C)
Sheeran is the world’s third-highest paid musician
with an estimated $110 million in 2018 earnings that ranks him just behind U2 ($118 million) and Coldplay ($112.5 million)
the artist released the official video for the new single
which also features Chris Stapleton & Bruno Mars
Sheeran will release a hotly-anticipated new album entitled No.6 Collaborations Project
which also features collaborations with Justin Bieber and Chance the Rapper
Sheeran performed 16 songs and a pair of encores

Prague’s Letňany district will get a new neighborhood on the site of the former Avia plane part factory
The Odien investment group wants to build a new city district with houses
Visualization of Avia City / via Aviacity.cz
The project counts on a total of eight hectares of greenery
equal to the size of Prague 2’s Riegrovy sady
The public space will be equipped with practical smart gadgets that will make life easier for everyone
“We have been working on the project to change this area since 2007
and I believe we are nearing the conclusion that we will achieve a change in the zoning plan by the end of this year and be able to start,” Odien investment group founder Michael Saran told news server Seznamzpravy.cz
adding that construction should begin within three years
Odien has been in Letňany since 2004 and wants to continue there
“It’s not like we built houses and left,” Saran said
adding that Odien already supplies heat to the inhabitants of almost half of Letňany
sports facilities and an amount of green area equalling Prague’s biggest parks
which I think need the residents of Prague 9 certainly more than industrial buildings,” Saran said in a press release
said one of the main priorities for transport is the revitalization of the Čakovice railway station into a major transfer point in the future
The company is also considering a tram line and has commissioned a transport study of what it would look like if a tram from Ďáblice stretched to there
They also hope to revitalize the adjacent roads and intersections
New bike paths will connect also Letňany to Čakovice
The construction will be divided into four stages
And the whole project is to be completed in 15 to 25 years
A steering committee for the planned construction has been set up
It includes former ČNB governor Zdeněk Tůma
“AVIA City has great potential to participate in the future in the socio-economic development of Letňany
Čakovice and Prague on a larger scale,” Tůma said
The site was used by the industrial firm Avia
It diversified into trucks in 1945 and ceased plane production in 1963
The company split into two separate units in 1992
The facility in Letňany ceased operation in 1993 when plane part production was moved to Stará Boleslav
