detailed wage report from the Information and Statistics on Average Earnings System (ISPV) reveals sharp differences in pay across Czechia—not only between private and public sectors
While overall salaries grew last year, certain professions and locations continue to earn significantly more than others, underscoring persistent inequality in the national labor market
Managers remain the top earners across both public and private sectors
company executives earned an average of CZK 89,280 (gross) per month

the gender gap persisted: men in private firms earned a median of CZK 44,064
Salary differences between regions remain stark

Cleaners get paid the most in the South Moravia region (CZK 27,000)
In 2025, wages are set to increase across the board
Economists expect wages to rise by 5.5 to 6 percent on average in 2025
and according to a survey by the ČSOB Company Expectations Index
four in 10 small- and medium-sized businesses intend to increase salaries in Czechia this year

The historic center of Český Krumlov
Czechia’s capital, Prague
is one of Europe’s most-popular destinations
The city was spared significant war damage over the centuries and its trove of stunning historical architecture – Gothic
Pair this with Prague’s picturesque setting astride the Vltava River and you’ve got the makings for one of the world’s most beautiful cities
Many come simply to sample some very highly regarded Czech beer
This latter under-visited royal town recalls shades of Prague in its preserved baroque architecture and gracious public squares
Plan your time and budget in this captivating Eastern European country with our guide for first-time visitors
Time your visit for spring (April to June) or autumn (September to October); both pack plenty of sunny days and warm (though not yet hot) daytime temperatures
Spring is especially beautiful as trees bud and flowers bloom in early April
when temps can climb into the upper 30°Cs (90°Fs) and tourist crowds swell on Prague’s Old Town Square
Over the winter months (November to March)
but the colder weather and reduced daylight hours make travel less enjoyable
Christmas and New Year are an exception – book flights and hotels over these holidays well in advance
For travel within Czechia, trains and buses are reliable and reasonably priced. The transportation network is dense, with most destinations lying within a few hours of Prague. If you’re driving your own car, most long-distance stretches are connected by a four-lane highway, though roads get crowded over weekends and during the summer travel season. Parking in bigger cities, such as Prague and Brno
Arrange parking in advance through your hotel
the seat of power for Bohemian rulers for more than 1000 years
There’s not another 3km (1.9-mile) stretch quite like it in all of Europe
Karlín or Holešovice – to discover local life away from the throngs of visitors
but the good news is you no longer need to be wealthy to indulge
Buy your own spouted ceramic drinking cup to sample the springs then climb into the verdant hills around the town and admire the wedding-cake buildings from above
on its way to some of the country’s most important wine-growing regions
Wine tastings are held within the Valtice chateau itself
the largest single baroque sculpture in Central Europe and a UNESCO World Heritage Site
Part of the medieval town walls are still standing and rise above parkland that’s perfect for peaceful walks
Prices have risen rapidly in recent years but remain lower than more expensive continental destinations like Germany, France or Italy. Take advantage of daily lunch specials at restaurants or multi-person “family” admissions at museums to cut costs. Credit and debit cards are widely accepted – and are becoming more the norm rather than cash. Note that Czechia uses the Czech crown (Kč), not the euro. Some sample local prices:
Double room at a top hotel in Prague: 6000Kč (US$270)
Double room at a budget hotel: 2500Kč (US$114)
Glass of (good) domestic wine at a bar or restaurant: from 160Kč (US$7.25)
Coffee at a trendy Prague cafe: from 80Kč (US$3.65)
Lunch in Prague (two courses without drinks): from 300Kč (US$13.60)
Dinner out (three courses without drinks): from 600Kč (US$27)
Taxi from Prague airport to the center: 600Kč (US$27)
English is widely spoken in Prague and other big cities and by anyone in contact – at hotels, restaurants and tourist offices – with international visitors. Czech, a Slavic language, is considered very difficult to learn. That said, memorizing a couple words goes a long way toward generating a few smiles. Dobrý den (doh’·bri den) – "good day" – is a standard greeting. Děkuji (dye’·ku·yi) means “thank you.”
For travel to Prague, reserve your hotel as far in advance as possible – especially if you’re planning on going over the peak summer season or during popular holidays, such as New Year’s or Easter. Rooms are not as tight outside of Prague, but advance bookings are a good idea over weekends or national holidays. Book popular restaurants a week in advance to secure a table. If you don’t have reservations, try showing up outside traditional mealtimes.
Yes, the country is safe with a very low crime rate. That said, visitors should be wary of a few classic (relatively rare) tourist scams. When obtaining local currency, don’t go to private exchange booths that charge exorbitant conversion fees. Use bank ATMs instead. Never change money on the black market (always a scam). Unscrupulous taxi drivers occasionally overcharge for rides. Use popular ride-share apps, like Uber or Bolt, where the risk of being ripped off is minimal.

American singer-songwriter Mark Ambor made his debut in Prague at Roxy last Thursday night
The line to get in was outside and around the block still 30 minutes after doors opened
with fans excited to welcome Ambor and his opener Isabel Dumaa to Prague for the first time.
American pop singer Isabel Dumaa took the stage in a classy black dress
immediately bringing an air of calm to the venue
pure voice radiated out from the stage as she glided through songs like “Enough For You” and her most recent hit single
“Quarter Life Crisis.” She also took the time to play some unreleased songs
treating the audience to a sneak peek of what’s to come in her musical journey
She also included an absolutely breathtaking cover of Billie Eilish’s hit “BIRDS OF A FEATHER.”
her camaraderie with her bandmates was a joy to watch
Her keyboardist rarely stopped smiling and she and her guitarist shared a silly moment when she accidentally popped the cord out of the instrument as she walked across the stage
Her interactions with the crowd were no less genuine
as she regularly reached out to take people’s hands and even grabbed a fan’s camcorder and brought it up on stage to capture what must’ve been some amazing video footage.
the stage was dressed up to look almost like a campground or an outdoor patio complete with string lights
a vintage speaker containing the Rockwood logo
and a large banner saying “Rockwood” hanging at the back
When Mark Ambor took the stage, he was met with enthusiastic cheers from the crowd. He opened with hit songs “I Hope It All Works Out” and “Academy Street,” both from his debut album Rockwood released last fall
His energy was infectious as he crossed the stage from side to side
encouraging fans to sing and move along with him.
Ambor’s signature wide smile never left his face
easily spreading to the audience and forming a more personal connection with the fans
He also took some time to explain the name Rockwood
noting Rockwood Park in his hometown as a significant place for him when he was growing up in Pleasantville
Ambor also treated the crowd to some unreleased songs
including “Our Song” and “Who Knows,” the highly anticipated single to be released on May 9th
was when he stepped off the stage and into the crowd with his guitar to play a few songs
including his own hit “Hate That I Still Love You” and a cover of Coldplay’s “Yellow.” He performed these tracks without a microphone
but his voice carried throughout the crowded venue as the atmosphere became even more intimate.
he sat down at the piano to play a few songs
Ambor also demonstrated his talent as a multi-instrumentalist throughout his set
switching back and forth between his guitar
The end of his set consisted of “Rockwood,” and “Good To Be,” his cheery energy permeating throughout the room at every opportunity.
When he sauntered offstage giving the crowd a thumbs up
We didn’t have to wait long – he quickly returned and was almost immediately handed yet another Czech flag (he already had two on stage with him) from the audience
with this one saying “U and Prague Belong Together.” He showed the flag to the crowd as he joked that he didn’t know where to put all these flags on stage with him.
He then launched into an encore performance of “My Love!” followed by perhaps his most famous song
“Belong Together,” meeting thunderous applause from the audience
he stood on stage looking out at the crowd with that genuine smile on his face
and Ambor looked around at his bandmates almost in disbelief as he started to tear up.
he paused after what should have been the end of the set before announcing that he wasn’t ready to leave yet
Spontaneously wanting to extend the moment
he pulled his bandmates to the front of the stage and sat down
They quickly decided which song they would play next
and launched into an improvised acoustic rendition of “Good To Be,” much to the crowd’s delight
This felt like a special treat – an intimate
closer performance of the hit song meant just for this specific crowd.
So much joy and love were in the air that night
radiating both from the excited and loyal fans and from Mark Ambor himself
who was clearly having the time of his life up on that stage
His debut performance in Prague was certainly a success
and we hope to welcome him back again very soon
If you haven’t caught the Rockwood Tour yet, it’s not too late – Mark Ambor and Isabel Dumaa still have a few dates left on the European leg of this tour, which wraps up in Madrid on May 15. Tickets are available here

was thwarted from reaching its final destination after pro-abortion activists formed a blockade
According to The Czech News Agency (ČTK), the march was organized by the group Movement for Life
and pro-lifers then gathered at Hradčanské Square with the intent of marching to Wenceslas Square
That attempt was halted when several hundred pro-abortion protesters formed a blockade
Police arrested around 30 of those counter-protesters
Movement for Life posted about the incident on its Facebook page
the right to assemble several thousand participants of the March for Life was grossly violated
Mostly families with children faced hate speech and intimidation in downtown Prague
The gathering was subsequently blocked in the narrow streets by extremist groups
Police of the Czech Republic has limited itself to formal steps without any real effort to clear the way
which actually enabled and encouraged unlawful and violent behavior

A statement from the Archdiocese of Prague noted that the March for Life was “ended prematurely” due to the protesters
15,000 preborn lives were lost due to abortion
ČTK reports that abortion advocates are fighting to expand the country’s laws and abortion access even further
claiming there is still considerable abortion opposition within the country

Jitka Michal sets sights on reinventing work culture
a United States Army veteran studying at Arizona State University online from the Czech Republic
connected with a Holocaust survivor for a class project
she walked away with a new perspective on leadership.
Michal says it was a defining experience while earning her Bachelor of Arts degree in organizational leadership from the School of Applied Professional Studies in the College of Integrative Sciences and Arts via ASU Online
an honor recognizing students who display exemplary academic achievement and use their skills to positively impact others
Michal grew up in Prague and spent years in Lincoln Park, Chicago. She calls both places home. A Yellow Ribbon Program participant, Michal balanced her studies from abroad while working full time as a delivery project manager for IBM
During a course called OGL 350 Diversity and Organizations
something clicked — a learning breakthrough
“I had the invaluable opportunity to interview Mr
a Holocaust survivor who spent his early childhood in hiding in Poland,” Michal said
“It helped me recognize how social connections and a willingness to listen
while being mindful of biases and prejudices
That conversation brought historical context to her belief that leadership must be grounded in empathy and inclusion
It formed a bridge between theory and practice
lessons she now aims to embody throughout her career
the insights I gained from this class were transformative,” she said
Reflecting on Michal's performance, Teaching Professor Jessica Hirshorn
“Jitka went above and beyond the standard curriculum requirements,” Hirshorn said
“She enriched her classmates’ learning with her global perspective and her experience at IBM and in the U.S
Michal’s journey to ASU was inspired by a military mentor and the legacy of Pat Tillman, an ASU and NFL football player who enlisted in the Army after the 9/11 terrorist attacks. Tillman, who was killed by friendly fire in Afghanistan in 2004, was the spark for ASU's Pat Tillman Veterans Center
“I was resolute in my ambition to become a leader capable of instigating positive change,” she said.
Despite being out of school for eight years in order to advance her career
Michal maintained a 4.0 GPA while balancing IBM projects across time zones
particularly in organizational transformation
empowered her to question traditional corporate models that she felt too often ignore the human side of work
I discovered that it is possible to reinvent organizations to align with positive change
Jitka will continue her education at ASU in CISA’s accelerated master’s degree program in organizational leadership and will focus on the future of work.
“I intend to collaborate with organizations that seek to maximize human potential through strategic reinvention,” she said
aligning with inner rightness and pursuing what genuinely matters to you
Question: Why did you choose to study organizational leadership
Answer: My interest in organizational leadership has deepened throughout my career
where I discovered the immense value of effective leadership
I gained a deep appreciation for the fundamental skills of responsibility
which have continued to influence my leadership performance significantly
I bolstered leadership skills in each organization
I have also realized that every company and its organizational paradigms have drawbacks
these drawbacks fail to fully employ human potential and may result in separating leaders from followers and
I decided to become a student to find solutions to the drawbacks of organizational paradigms
A: ASU's program aligned perfectly with my objectives
and I also had the opportunity to learn from exceptional professors
The university resonated with my military background and aligned perfectly with the degree I wished to pursue
I discovered more about Arizona State University's exceptional reputation
and my interactions with several alumni and professors deepened my enthusiasm for attending
Q: What’s something you learned while at ASU that changed your perspective
A: After completing the OGL 365: Reinventing Organizations class
I realized that many organizational paradigms foster distrust among frontline employees and limit self-management practices by focusing exclusively on revenue
This approach often contributes to a sense of disconnection between corporations and their employees
I became acutely aware that this disconnection creates a perception of employees as mere components of a mechanical system
I began to wonder how many individuals experience a lack of vibrancy or aliveness in their work
Such change not only harnesses the full potential of human resources but also establishes a higher purpose that benefits everyone involved

A proposed 100% tariff on films produced outside the United States
floated by President Donald Trump over the weekend
has rattled the global film industry—but in the Czech Republic
key players say the impact would be significant
Considering the types of foreign productions that have filmed in Czechia in recent years
the region may also be better prepared for potential tariffs than other popular destinations
“No final decisions on foreign film tariffs have been made,” a White House spokesperson told The Hollywood Reporter on Monday
slightly walking back Trump’s Sunday night announcement
the administration insists it is exploring options to “safeguard our national and economic security while Making Hollywood Great Again.”
That hasn’t stopped the film world from reacting with confusion and alarm, especially in countries like the Czech Republic, where American productions form a large part of the industry’s income. Speaking to Czech News Agency on Monday
chairman of the Czech Audiovisual Producers’ Association
estimated that American projects make up roughly half of all foreign productions in the country
but it wouldn’t be devastating,” Šlajer said
He pointed to the adaptability of Czech producers
who endured the 2023 Hollywood strikes and continue to attract European and non-Western productions
“We’re not dependent on just one type of client.”
Trump’s announcement has raised difficult questions for an industry deeply integrated across borders
Would the tariff apply to streaming productions like those from Netflix
which often shoot in Prague but are headquartered globally
Would international co-productions be exempt
What qualifies as an “American” film in a post-studio
Šlajer noted that 70–80% of current productions are for internet and television platforms
“They don’t create content solely in the U.S.—it’s done in Europe
It’s not clear how tariffs would even apply.”
pointing out the legal and logistical complexities
“Platforms are not territorially separated
She added that companies like Netflix and Disney have their European headquarters in Amsterdam and Paris
“It’s roughly 40% more expensive to film in the U.S
The Czech Ministry of Culture said it is monitoring the situation and will analyze any potential impact on the country’s audiovisual sector
“It’s premature to speculate about concrete consequences,” ministry spokesperson Jana Malíková told Czech News Agency
noting that support for the film industry remains a government priority
Recent amendments to Czech law have increased local film incentives to 25% for general productions and up to 35% for animation and post-production
Circumstances within the Czech film industry may have inadvertently prepared it for Trump’s proposed tariffs
which specifically refer to movies as opposed to TV or streaming content
which tie revenue to advertising and subscription fees
may be more difficult to tax than theatrical productions whose earnings are more easily countable from box office receipts
The contemporary spy series Ride or Die, starring Octavia Spencer and Hannah Waddingham
while a new Netflix adaptation of The Age of Innocence is expected to film in the Czech capital later this year
Germany and Slovakia in attracting these foreign shoots
Czech officials are proceeding with cautious optimism—and a sense of realism
“We expect American filmmakers themselves to push back hard on this.”
“Consider the rich tradition of U.S. studios filming in Europe since the 1950s, which has always been enriching for both sides of the ocean,” Pavlína Žipková from the Czech Film Commission told Variety on Monday

King Philippe was greeted with a red carpet welcome and a military ceremony in Prague on Monday
The King is visiting the Czech Republic to take part in a ceremony commemorating the liberation of the city of Pilsen
the King was greeted by Czech president Petr Pavel and dozens of Czech soldiers at a formal reception at Prague Castle
a monumental palace complex that overlooks the city from a hilltop
which was closed to tourists for the occasion
is also the official residence and workplace of the Czech president
which included the national anthems of both countries
was followed by talks between the two leaders
The King was also presented with a framed photograph of his meeting with Vaclav Havel
the country's first president after the fall of the communist regime
Philippe travelled to the Czech Republic to take part in a ceremony commemorating the liberation of the city of Pilsen
Tuesday marks 80 years since a Belgian battalion helped drive Nazi troops out of the city
It is the first time that a Belgian and a Czech head of state will attend the commemoration of this event together
The city was liberated on 6 May 1945 by the American army with the assistance of the 17th Belgian Fusilier Battalion
This battalion consisted of volunteers from the province of Liège
all former members of the Secret Army resistance group
Pilsen is one of the few Czech cities not liberated by Soviet troops at the end of the Second World War
following the Velvet Revolution that ended communist rule in the former Czechoslovakia
that the liberation began to be celebrated
but family members of the 17th Battalion veterans are expected to attend the commemoration in Pilsen on Tuesday
King Philippe's visit partly coincides with a two-day visit by Ukrainian president Volodymyr Zelensky to the Czech Republic
the Ukrainian flag at Prague Castle had to be replaced by the Belgian flag shortly before 14.00 on Monday

(02-May) -- Andrew Colley arrived in Prague yesterday from North Carolina a little tired
The 2024 Manchester Road Race champion is ready to wave goodbye to his current marathon personal best of 2:11:22
and knock as many minutes off as possible at Sunday's ORLEN Prague Marathon
His training the last two months in Blowing Rock
and included a 20-mile cut-down run which started at 5:50 per mile pace and finished at 4:45
He knows he's definitely got a lot more potential than 2:11."The marathon is the one event that..
I've under-performed pretty heavily," Colley told Race Results Weekly in a telephone interview from his hotel in Prague last night
It might be a little conservative with how training's going
That's my goal: to still run 2:07 pace through 20 and see how much I can take off in the last 10-K."Colley
who is the senior member of the ZAP Endurance program under coaches Pete Rea and Ryan Warrenburg
has had Prague on his calendar since last December
reached out to the event and Colley got an early acceptance
That allowed the 3:58 miler and his coaches to set up his training and racing program so he could satisfy several other goals and still be in peak marathon shape for Prague
He ran a 1:00:47 half-marathon personal best in Houston on January 19
set a new course record of 13:33 at the Armagh Road Race 5-K in Northern Ireland on February 13
and took fifth at the USATF Half-Marathon Championships in Atlanta on March 3 where he ran 1:01:09 on a hilly course
Each of those races was aligned with his Prague preparations."We knew we wanted to go for the fast half," said Colley
who ended up getting sick in December but recovered enough to run well in Houston
He continued: "We knew we wanted to do a couple of fast halfs and a marathon a little later
it still worked out that I got the pieces of the puzzle put into place for today
Even though they weren't the perfect days for me
they were still part of the ticket to here."And what about that 5-K where he won in a sprint finish?"With Armagh..
it was really about proving that my close is still there from Manchester," said Colley
who won that Thanksgiving Day road race with a powerful long-sprint against Mexico's Eduardo Herrera
"From Pete and Ryan's standpoint they just wanted me to know
you should know after this you can kick with anyone."Colley put in most of his miles with ZAP teammate Ryan Ford
The fact that the two athletes were preparing for marathons which were two weeks apart actually worked out well for Colley because Ford is more a natural distance runner
where the duo focused on getting down as many carbohydrates as possible
was key."We overlapped quite a bit," said Colley of his training with Ford
who finished tenth (third American) at Boston in a personal best 2:08:00
"I was just kind of two weeks behind him at all points
so we kind of had that be the focus of this build
I've been over-fueling and getting my stomach as strong as possible for Sunday."Of course
Colley was inspired by Ford's performance at Boston
but also by the 2:26:39 recorded by his wife
and instead of following the race on television he decided to track Ford and Tristin's progress on the race's mobile phone app from his home."I had the tracking app open and I was meticulously checking every two or three minutes while pacing around our apartment following Tristin and Ryan
"I should have been watching the feed
but I was a little too stressed to watch it." He continued: "I just stuck to the tracking app and was stressed for two and a half hours."The success of his teammates has helped lift Colley's confidence
Tristin ran the #2 time of her career
despite dealing with stomach distress from 14 miles to the finish
Ford was only in 22nd place at halfway (1:03:42)
but trusted his plan and moved up 12 places in the second half."Wow
what a smart race he ran," Colley marveled
"I think he had the sixth-fastest second half." (Fact check: he did.)Conditions are looking good for Prague on Sunday where warm temperatures today will be replaced by much cooler conditions for Sunday after thunderstorms on Saturday night
Sunday's high will only be 58F/14C (even cooler at the start)
Colley is trying to get as much rest as possible
even though his training taper is making him a little crazy."I kind of
feel that with the marathon you get two weeks from your race and you've done all the work," he said
and so I think the name of the game is getting to the starting line feeling great
I always feel like I could be doing more
but I'm trying to embrace it."Regardless of what happens on Sunday
the Colleys have a firm plan for what comes next
even though their race plans for the second half of the year aren't fully formed
The couple got married last September
but never took a honeymoon."We fly back from Prague on Monday
then me and Tristin are flying to Hawaii for our honeymoon," he said
"That's the only thing we have planned so far."- - - - - -The 30th anniversary of the ORLEN Prague Marathon will be celebrated on Sunday

“We believe that without increased pressure
Today marks the 54th day that Russia has ignored even the American proposal to completely cease fire,” Zelensky said to reporters
“We believe that a ceasefire is possible at any moment
and should last at least 30 days to give diplomacy a real chance.”
Putin announced a three-day ceasefire from May 8-10 to commemorate the 80th anniversary of the Soviet Union's victory over Nazi Germany in World War II
Zelensky dismissed this as ineffective and instead called for an unconditional ceasefire lasting at least 30 days
The Czech government has been a firm supporter of Ukraine since Russia’s invasion in 2022 and has taken a leading role in providing Ukraine with large-calibre ammunition.
The Ukrainian president stated that instead of showcasing tanks at the May 9 victory parade
Putin should be focusing “on how to actually end his war.” “Three things are needed
and a significant increase in defence cooperation across Europe,” he expressed
“Russia must know that Europeans will defend themselves.”
Moscow has stated that it expects a clear and direct response from Zelensky regarding its three-day proposal

OK (KOKH) — The following closures will be in place in Prague
Officials said detour signs will be in place
For more local news delivered straight to your inbox, sign up for our daily newsletter by clicking here.
The head of state stated this during a joint press conference with Czech President Petr Pavel following their meeting in Prague
Eva Pavelova (spouse of the Czech President - ed.)
a large-scale conference ‘Healthcare Initiative for Ukraine’ will kick off in Prague
We are grateful for the joint work with the Czech Republic on our Ukrainian restoration," Zelensky said
He separately noted the Czech Republic's initiative on the reconstruction of Ukrainian medical facilities
"The restoration of hospitals is a priority for us
hundreds of hospitals have been destroyed or damaged by this war
it is necessary to restore virtually the entire healthcare network
It is necessary to modernize medical facilities in other regions of Ukraine as well," the president said
Health Minister Viktor Lyashko said that the Czech Republic would invest EUR 100 million in the renovation of hospitals within the Ukraine Facility
President Petr Pavel and his Ukrainian counterpart Volodymyr Zelenskiy held talks in Prague yesterday to discuss the development of the situation in Ukraine
and the possibilities of post-war reconstruction
in which the Czech Republic wants to participate
Pavel told at a joint press conference after their meeting
said he appreciated the Czech Republic for its efforts to stop Russian aggression
and that the Czech munitions initiative is working excellently
Zelenskiy said that Ukraine greatly appreciates the Czech Republic’s support for its European efforts
He expressed regret that some European leaders are blocking the process
and suggested they are only doing so to get a better seat on the Red Square tribune
Pavel stated that if Russia succeeded in the war
it would have direct negative consequences for the Czechs
If Russia were rewarded for its aggression
this would confirm that the Kremlin’s manner of pursuing its foreign policy objectives is correct
He stressed that it was in the Czech Republic’s immediate interest that the outcome of the peace negotiations
which will hopefully begin in the near future
should not be that the aggressor is rewarded and the victim
He said the Czech Republic would support Ukraine in its ambitions to become a member of the European Union and NATO
He also pledged further support for Ukraine through the supply of ammunition
Zelenskiy said Ukraine needs more sanctions against Russia
and also a tangible increase in mutual defence cooperation across Europe
He also noted that reconstruction of hospitals is a high priority for the embattled country
with hundreds of them damaged as a result of Russian attacks
it will be necessary to build an entirely new medical network
The two presidents also spoke yesterday about efforts to create a Ukrainian training centre for F-16 fighter pilots
we cannot set up such a training centre on the territory of Ukraine
because Russian attacks continue every day,” said Zelenskiy
“We are working with our partners to do everything possible to establish such a training center outside Ukraine.”
Ukraine is asking its partners to increase pressure on Russia because without such pressure it will not take any steps to end the war
but it should last at least 30 days to provide a realistic chance for diplomacy
Zelenskiy has a number of meetings scheduled in Prague today
including with opposition politicians and representatives of the Chamber of Deputies
as he would like to convey to representatives of the Czech Parliament that the security of Ukraine and the Czech Republic is also a guarantee of the security of Europe
Pavel aso said the deployment of foreign troops in Ukraine is out of the question until a peace agreement is reached
economic and military guarantees could be enough to guarantee peace for Ukraine once an agreement is reached
“At the moment there are no specific negotiations on what troops
what units could possibly be deployed in Ukraine
We are really still far from that,” said Pavel
He argued that there was no point in announcing a ceasefire for one
as “it is impossible to start peace talks in such a short period of time.” If anyone had expressed a will for a 30-day ceasefire
“We need to remember that if anyone really holds all the cards to end the war
But so far he has shown no such real will,” Pavel said
