The Seahawks will make NFL history when they take part in the first regular season game of the league to be played in Germany on Sunday
And it means that much more to a member of the Seahawks practice squad
Aaron Donkor is a linebacker that may have played his college ball at Arkansas State but he's from Achern
So it's history and a homecoming all in one for Donkor
"It’s about everybody that is enjoying it
and a part of this journey to bring football overseas
and I hope that we inspire a person to follow this beautiful game of football.”
He made his way to the Hawks via the NFL International Pathways program in 2021
He simply cannot wait for the opportunity to potentially hit the field in front of his home crowd but at the same time
he's excited to be a host of sorts for his teammates
“It’s a challenge to grow as a leader and a man
To have your teammates and have their back when they are lost or in traffic
have friends to come home to that you haven’t seen in a long time and be a light and be an inspiration
I’m excited for this weekend for many reasons
being a host means answering your teammates questions about Munich and Germany as a whole
Most of which surround the best foods to eat
I don’t what it’s called in English because I don’t think we have it here
but around Easter we always eat Klösse (dumplings) with duck and some rotkohl (red cabbage)
It always reminds me of coming together at home and I think it is pretty good.”
this is an opportunity to grow the game further with passionate fans whose love of the NFL dates back to the NFL Europe days
Germany has been at the forefront of American football
and I think now that the Germany game is there
so I’m excited for that" Donkor added
Kickoff for the Seahawks and Buccaneers is set for 3:30 p.m
historic game that means even more for trailblazing player on the Hawks
Florent Muslija has shown no signs of frustration during the days of Freiburg's winter camp
The attacking midfielder seems to be fully committed on the field
while off it he offers a kind of relaxation
although the personal ambitions with which the Kosovo representative player was transferred from Paderborg to Freiburg a year ago have not yet been realized
Florent Muslija's first six months were considered a period of adaptation to the Bundesliga team
Had ten substitute appearances and one assist
The first step was expected in the current edition
But the development is in opposite directions
none of which were starts and no involvement in the goals
The only occasion to start was at the beginning of December in the Cup match against Arminia Bielefeld
He laid the foundation for an embarrassing 3:1 defeat by the third-tier team with a missed penalty in the 18th minute
The fact that the goalkeeper of Arminia had to simply stop the shot made in the middle of the goal was the "icing on the cake"
It's actually less dangerous than shooting in the wings
But of course it had another impact on the fans
I feel valued at the club and I feel very much at home in this team."
The players in the positions where I can appear have played well
There is a lot of difference in quality between Bundesliga 1 and Bundesliga 2, especially in these positions
I have to wait for my moment and then be ready"
The fact that he has a similar profile to Vincenzo Grifo
"It doesn't make sense for me to worry about what might happen in the next six months
I want maximum success with Freiburg now and in the future"
Taking advantage of the future opportunity that comes to him better than the past opportunity

The Baden-Württemberg State Railway Authority (SFBW) has ordered 20 Mireo Plus B battery-electric trains from Siemens Mobility
are scheduled for delivery by December 2023
The Mireo Plus B is a two-part electric multiple unit with 120 seats each
They have both a pantograph and a traction battery
This allows them to run on lines with and without overhead lines – the range of the battery electric drive is 80 kilometers according to the manufacturer’s information
which is installed in two containers under the train
is charged by recuperation during braking or via the overhead line
The 20 vehicles are to be used in regional rail transport on the 8 Ortenau network
This network covers the lines Offenburg – Freudenstadt/Hornberg
Achern – Ottenhöfen and Biberach (Baden) – Oberharmersbach-Riersbach
Delivery is scheduled to take place by December 2023
Siemens will also take over maintenance for 29.5 years
Baden-Württemberg’s Minister of Transportation
Siemens will also assume the entire energy costs for the aforementioned period
we have consciously opted for the ‘life cycle model’,” Hermann is quoted in the press release
“As we are breaking new ground in the conversion to climate-friendly drive technologies in local transport with the introduction of this new technology and consciously want to make companies responsible for this technology by drawing up contracts”
The acquisition is also contractually specific
and the communication refers to the “Netz-Ortenau model”
will purchase the trains and thus become the owner of the vehicles
Siemens as the manufacturer also guarantees permanent operational readiness via the maintenance contract
The SFBW then places the vehicles at the disposal of the railroad company that operates the trains on a day-to-day basis for the duration of the transport contract
The financing of the trains built at the Siemens plant in Krefeld in the amount of EUR 77 million is being provided by KfW IPEX-Bank and has a term of 28 years
“The financing not only contributes to a direct reduction in CO2 emissions
but also to the promotion of innovative and climate-friendly technologies in rail transport,” says Andreas Ufer

the first raspberries of the season can be picked in the Ortenau district
the fruits have come through the blooming phase well and have not suffered any frost damage
We just need a bit more stable weather now
with daytime temperatures around 20-22 degrees and no further rainfall," says berry producer Jörg Huber from Achern
which in turn accelerated the growth of the plants
we are starting the harvest about ten days earlier compared to other years
which is quite advantageous for us - also due to the longer marketing window."
Huber dedicates approximately one hectare to the covered cultivation of the two raspberry varieties Mapema and Kweli
slightly darker early variety that is particularly popular in direct marketing
starts producing about ten days later and is especially suitable for wholesale and retail
"Our summer harvest usually lasts until mid-July
this fits quite well: We notice that especially during our harvest gap
the market is almost continuously saturated
the imported goods increasingly disappear from the market
while our autumn harvest then picks up speed
It should not be forgotten that the number of raspberry producers has significantly decreased in recent years
while the harvest volume has remained almost constant
the appreciation for regional raspberries is still present."
A portion of the yields is marketed by Huber through OGM Oberkirch
and strawberries are also part of the product range of the Ortenau fruit farm
Huber has been successfully cooperating with the Dutch breeding company Fresh Forward for several years
"We cultivate several varieties from Fresh Forward and continue to conduct variety trials
A variety that has developed very strongly in recent years is the Twist variety
stable picking performance and uniform fruits
the mid-early variety Aprica has established itself particularly well in wholesale," Huber concludes

a leading global manufacturer of stainless steel tubes and components
expands its product portfolio with innovative aluminum hotform-ing technology (HFQ) for the production of complex and high-strength alumi-num components
The fischer group is always exploring new processes in metal processing
the combined forming and quenching process of aluminum sheets appeared to be of particular interest
fischer has now successfully industrialized this innovative process for the production of complex and lightweight aluminum components
High-strength 6000- and 7000-series aluminum alloys offer the opportunity for further weight reduction in the automotive industry or other users of aluminum sheets
chassis components from these materials using conventional processes has only been possible to a limited extent
With the industrial roll out of aluminum hot forming (HFQ)
the fischer group now opens up new possibilities in the design and construction of complex and yet high-strength lightweight aluminum components
The process is divided into three main process steps: The so-called solution annealing of the shaped blank at approx
rapid forming and simultaneous quenching of the component in the forming tool
followed by the artificial aging at approx
180°C to 200°C to achieve the final mechanical properties
fischer has invested in a state-of-the-art production facility at its home base in Achern
which makes it a one-stop provider for all relevant process steps from aluminum coil to the finished component
Aluminum hotforming (HFQ) meets the demand for complex
highly integrated geometries with large drawing depths
intricate features and tight radii in a single forming operation
and for 7000 alloys even Rm>560MPa are feasible
The new line was successfully launched with its first mass production project in January 2022
fischer manufactures a total of 10 structural components for a new premium EV sedan
A central component in this respect is the outer door ring
and the sill and still achieves a total weight of less than 9kg
This also includes additional reinforcement of the B-pillar and continuous reinforcement of the side sill as an additional measure for outstanding results in side impacts
The technology provides the vehicle manufacturer with a unique combination of compact package
To achieve high and reproducible process quality
fischer has also introduced a unique system for the monitoring of parts
Each components is allocated an individual serial number and can be tracked along the complete process chain with a so-called “Track&Trace” system
All information relevant to each individual component
such as holding times or even process temperatures
This ensures that the required mechanical properties are guaranteed for each component
resulting in the highest level of manufacturing quality
family owned business with a global presence
developed machines in his garage for the economical production of longitudinally welded stainless steel tubes and thereby laid the foundation for what is now a 50-year success story
The production of stainless steel tubes as well as their further processing is still the core of the company group
heating and household appliance industries
are offered a complete range of services from bending
the decision was made to enter the new business area of aluminum hotforming and a new state-of-the-art production facility was built for this purpose at the home base in the Baden town of Achern
The fischer group is represented in eight countries around the world with a total of ten manufacturing sites and generated global sales of approximately 750 million euros in 2021 with over 2800 employees

Innovative technology along with even more climate protection and greater comfort and convenience for passengers – regional rail transport on Network 8 (“Ortenau”) is rising to a new level on April 8
Today’s the day the first four battery-powered trains from Siemens Mobility begin regular service
The official start was celebrated by an exclusive inaugural trip from Offenburg to Oberkirch and back
Minister of Transport for the state of Baden-Württemberg
“We are writing a new chapter in railway history with this opening trip,” commented Minister Hermann
“Thanks to the battery hybrid drive of the Mireo Plus B
trains operating in the Ortenau region as of today are more climate-friendly than those using diesel
Baden-Württemberg is a pioneer with innovative train technology
climate-friendly solutions wherever there are still no overhead power lines.”
SWEG CEO Tobias Harms said: “SWEG not only stands for quality
We are especially pleased to now be able to make these innovative trains available to our passengers and will be demonstrating our role as a reliable partner to both the state of Baden-Württemberg and Siemens Mobility.”
said: “We are proud that our first fleet of Mireo Plus B battery trains is now going into passenger service
We would like to thank the state of Baden-Württemberg and SWEG for their trust and confidence in our innovative and environmentally friendly technology
we can make an active contribution to climate protection
The introduction of these highly advanced trains
which can operate up to 120 kilometers on battery power
marks an important step towards a sustainable future.”
The hybrid trains will initially be used on the routes from Offenburg to Bad Griesbach and from Offenburg to Hornberg
They replace the diesel-powered Regio Shuttle RS1
Plans call for gradually extending hybrid service on other routes in the network
In preparation for introducing the Siemens Mobility trains
the network timetable was adjusted in mid-December 2023
have been running straight through from Offenburg via Hausach to Hornberg without requiring changes
And passengers traveling to Freudenstadt usually have to change trains in Hausach
since the battery trains can serve the Freudenstadt station on the regular schedule only when an additional switch connection has been installed there
As a result of the timetable change in December 2023
passenger service has been improved by closing previous gaps in the schedule
Trains now operate at least on an hourly basis on all routes from early morning to evening
we are increasing the service frequency and providing higher capacity
Passengers now have more comfortable and attractive options for changing trains and boarding – whether in the cities or country,” noted Minister of Transport Hermann
Innovative train: the Siemens Mireo Plus B
the Mireo Plus B battery-electric multiple-unit trains produce no emissions and are extremely quiet
they can be used on routes with and without overhead power lines
when they operate throughout the entire network and replace the diesel-powered Regio Shuttle
they will slash consumption of diesel by around 1.8 million liters per year
In battery operation and under real conditions
the Mireo Plus B has a range of up to 120 kilometers
Its batteries can be recharged from the overhead line and with braking energy
includes two battery containers holding lithium-ion batteries with a long service life
The trainsets have 120 seats and are equipped with a toilet
air conditioning and spacious special use areas
Manufacturer Siemens Mobility won Baden-Württemberg’s open-technology call for tenders for Network 8 with its Mireo Plus B design
This led to Baden-Württemberg’s State Agency for Rail Vehicles (SFBW) ordering 27 Mireo Plus B two-car
The trains will be serviced and maintained by Siemens Mobility for SWEG for about 30 years in the newly built rail maintenance depot in Offenburg that opened in June 2023
predictive maintenance of the trains is made possible by the use of the cloud-based Siemens Mobility Railigent X Suite application
Thanks to advanced algorithms and data analytics
train operations are optimised and potential disruptions are detected and handled before they lead to breakdowns
This ensures 100 percent availability of the fleet
The charging infrastructure for the new trains was installed by SWEG Schienenwege GmbH at the Achern and Biberach (Baden) train stations
Following the timetable change made in mid-December 2023
Network 8 (“Ortenau”) includes the following routes: Offenburg – Hornberg/Freudenstadt; Offenburg – Bad Griesbach; Offenburg – Achern – Ottenhöfen; and Biberach (Baden) – Oberharmersbach-Riersbach
the reactivated Hermann Hesse line between Calw and Renningen is planned to become part of the network as of 2025
Network 8 handles around two-and-a-half million train kilometers per year
The state of Baden-Württemberg awarded operation of the network to SWEG until December 2038
