company BASF which has invested a share in the 350-bar module to expand the hydrogen infrastructure in the Rhine-Neckar region Volker Wissing: “The hydrogen filling station in Frankenthal that was opened today is another important step towards climate-neutral mobility The hydrogen filling station for which we have provided funding support supplements the existing network of filling stations for heavy-duty commercial vehicles and buses in the Rhine-Neckar region This is one of the ways how we create the conditions for local companies to convert their fleets to hydrogen.” Lord Mayor of Frankenthal: “The opening of this hydrogen refuelling station marks a significant step towards sustainable mobility in our region It is a clear signal for climate protection and the future of environmentally friendly transport technologies Together with H2 MOBILITY Deutschland and BASF we are shaping clean and innovative mobility for Frankenthal and beyond.” The filling station is strategically and conveniently located for logistics operations being in close proximity to the Ludwigshafen Nord motorway junction and therefore the A6 motorway Three more H2 MOBILITY filling stations of a similar size and capacity will be built in the Rhine-Neckar metropolitan region by 2026 “The dimensions of the filling station show the direction in which we are developing in hydrogen mobility Just one single station is capable of supplying various vehicle types This is how we will succeed in making the entire spectrum of mobility choices sustainable including the area of commercial freight and passenger transport The filling station in Frankenthal enables companies public transport operators and the municipalities in the region to switch to climate-friendly hydrogen-based mobility We would like to thank our project partners for their active commitment cooperation and the shared vision that has made this transport transition project so successful Together with further new H2 MOBILITY stations is becoming clear that a redundant network of H2 filling stations is emerging in the Rhine-Neckar region,” says Martin Jüngel Managing Director and CFO of H2 MOBILITY Deutschland With its investment in the H2 filling station BASF is seeking to further expand the hydrogen economy in the region In addition to the switch to more sustainable drives in the field of mobility CO2-free hydrogen is also an important leverage point for the energy transition at BASF “Close collaboration between the hydrogen producers distributors and customers is a prerequisite for a cross-sector hydrogen economy,” says Dr Senior Vice President Infrastructure at the BASF site in Ludwigshafen “This is where we come in with our collaboration with H2 MOBILITY Not only through our participation in the new filling station we are aspiring to pave the path towards fuel cell vehicles for our suppliers and transport companies alike as well as for supporting regional mobility.” H2Rivers: Rhine-Neckar Hydrogen Demonstration Project H2Rivers is part of the HyLand programme of the Federal Ministry for Digital and Transport (BMDV – Bundesministerium für Digitales und turbines up to 12 MW (models SST-040 and SST-111); and the related service business “The market environment for power generation and oil and gas is extremely difficult as a result of the presently low oil prices and the consequent low level of investment by oil and gas companies,” Siemens said “The cost situation is important to make our business much more competitive it was necessary to sell businesses representing excess capacity or focused in non-O&G segments.” The acquisition will be integrated into Colfax’s Howden business platform broadening Howden’s range of compression solutions and expanding its product offering into small steam turbines The move also diversifies Howden’s served end-markets and increases its presence in some applications “I am delighted to welcome the unidentified contract worker with causing the deadly fire and explosion at BASF’s Ludwigshafen site in October 2017 Five people were killed and around 45 others injured in the blast that interrupted production at Germany’s biggest chemical complex for weeks Three of the dead were members of the BASF fire brigade The death toll also included a crew member of a tank ship docked in the site’s North Harbor The 62-year-old employee of a contracting firm tasked with laying a pipeline at the sprawling complex on the Rhine River will have to answer to charges of negligent homicide negligent assault and negligently causing an explosion According to the prosecutor’s office the worker’s job was to cut an empty propylene pipe with an angle grinder he apparently cut a different pipe containing a butylene mixture Sparks from the device are thought likely to have ignited the chemicals Due to the intense heat and pressure from the fire in the pipe trench that housed 38 supply lines – among other things for steam and water – a nearby ethylene overland transport pipeline also caught fire and exploded This caused much of the damage to the site Altogether, the accident forced the temporary closure or partial output reduction of 24 plants at Ludwigshafen, including the site’s two steam crackers with joint nameplate capacity for 2 million t/y of naphtha.  BASF was forced to declare force majeure to customers for naphtha ethylene and propylene from the two facilities and the North Harbor was unusable for an extended period It will now be up to a state court in Frankenthal to decide whether the case should go to trial told authorities he has no recollection of the accident He potentially faces a fine or a jail sentence of up to five years and strategic direction in an exclusive 8.5-7.0 for dressage) Image copyrighted: Photec Back to the 2004 Bundeschampionate Index Few components in plant and equipment engineering are as steeped in tradition as the pump But how does this fit in with the age of digitalisation This article explores the possibility of designing a hydraulic element which is fit for Industry 4.0 Conditions can change during the life of a pump and it often happens that a pump no longer runs at the optimum operating point This also applies to newly installed pumps KSB experts have been looking to optimize pumps more easily without using complex analytics or having to replace the pump The monitoring unit includes pressure sensors as well as an analysing and display unit fitted to the pump Two sensors in the pump measure the suction and discharge pressures around the clock The PumpMeter uses this data to calculate the differential pressure and determines the current operating point which is updated continuously in real time A typical four-quadrant pump characteristic curve shows the range in which the pump is operating at a point in time A flashing outer segment on the left or right of the display indicates that action is required either because the flow rate is extremely low or too high A flashing third quadrant in the pump curve indicates the optimum operating range If the segment on the left (the second segment) is flashing this indicates a long-term need for optimization This display allows the operator to evaluate the operating point immediately upon start-up and adjust the pump accordingly Operators can see at a glance whether the availability of their pumps is at risk and whether they are operating economically A flashing EFF (energy efficiency) symbol also indicates potential for significant energy savings Step 2: Vibration characteristics algorithms This analysis now needs to be simplified further it will be possible to record vibrations and transfer this operating data to the cloud using mobile communication conventional measurements using wetted sensors are not always straightforward particularly when the medium being pumped is a chemical product cloud access means that technicians can obtain information about the status of a pump from anywhere in the world without having to be on site This application is currently being piloted with 100 selected project partners Measurements taken in parallel using the PumpMeter are being used to verify the values obtained using the vibration sensor the company is continuing to optimize the underlying algorithms According to Dr Paulus: “Based on these results it is already easy to see whether it makes sense to switch to closed-loop control whether the settings or modes of operation need to be changed or whether it would be better to buy a new pump.” The operating data is transferred to the cloud via a portal The company processes the data and the user receives an automatically generated PDF with clear recommendations and improvement suggestions for the pump (see Figure 2) But how can these improvement suggestions be put into action The traditional approach would be to call a company technician to adjust the pump using software instead of having to adjust the impeller manually Figure 3 shows a combination of the company SuPremE IE5 motor and the MyFlow Drive which is based on the proven PumpDrive speed-control system The conventional approach for fixed speed pumps is to match the flow rate and head to the calculated operating point by trimming the impeller the pump can be adjusted by changing the speed MyFlow Technology could offer advantages in day-to-day work Because the operating voltage of the IE5 synchronous reluctance motor is modulated by the minimum frequency inverter mounted on the motor This could be an advantage for global engineering contractors because they may no longer need to consider the local mains voltage when selecting pumps The direction of rotation is now defined at the factory saving the time and costs usually incurred by conventional direction-of-rotation checks Step 4: Software-controlled pump adjustment “Although these advantages make the pump operator’s job much easier they are not enough to make a pump fit for Industry 4.0,” acknowledges Daniel Gontermann Head of Product Management - Drives and Mechatronic Solutions at KSB they form the basis for the next crucial step: pump optimization using virtual impeller trimming.” In the further course of the product life cycle the pump speed can be adjusted to individual requirements by smartphone; pump optimization with virtual impeller trimming “A software application can be used to bring the pump closer to its optimum operating point,” says the pump specialist the operating process does not need to be interrupted This is how you can increase energy efficiency if the actual Q/H point deviates from the design values or respond to a system-induced change in the operating point “Because a change in speed is always associated with a change in power substantial savings can also be made,” says Daniel Gontermann Pump optimization through virtual impeller trimming is fast and convenient by smartphone or tablet via a Bluetooth gateway This is another aspect that is likely to play a major role in pump selection in the future fewer pump sizes now cover the entire selection chart with efficiency and NPSH values remaining practically constant The variant complexity for hydraulics is reduced by more than 50% saving time and money on design and administration “Simply reducing the complexity by having fewer variants will promote the topic of virtual impeller trimming,” says Daniel Gontermann is a former Palestinian revolutionary who joined the first intifada as a teenager and was later sentenced to 10 years in an Israeli prison – he served four David Damelin was killed by a Palestinian sniper seven years ago; two years before that These were two deaths that might have been expected to contribute to the cycle of violence and hatred that characterises the Israeli-Palestinian conflict for the past five years Damelin and Awwad have travelled the world parliaments and public meetings to spread the message that there will only be peace in the Middle East when there is reconciliation Last week they brought that message to Britain attending an Amnesty International event and speaking to an audience of Muslims at the London Central Mosque the two reflected on a relationship that both hope may prefigure a different future for Israel and Palestine "If someone had said to me when I was 15 that I would have someone like Robi as a friend," said Awwad "in my wildest dream I would not have imagined it But when I met her she began to tell me about her relationship to her sons and how the killing of David affected her relationship with her other son "I felt this very deeply because my mother didn't pay much attention to me after the death of my brother That connection was made through the Parents Circle a remarkable organisation that brings together Israelis and Palestinians who have lost immediate members of their family in the conflict an Orthodox Jew whose 19-year-old son had been killed by Hamas activists Today it has more than 500 members who have all rejected violence hatred or revenge as a means to solve the conflict "At first I didn't want to mix with bereaved parents," admitted Damelin "but I gradually realised that the only hope for progress was to recognise the face of the conflict – that was why when they told me that David had been killed my first instinct was to say I did not want anyone killed in the name of my child It was through the Parents Circle that she met Awwad "When I learned about my brother's death I was just so full of anger," he recalled "But I realised that for me to survive I needed to meet someone from the other side who could understand me – so when I met Robi I met someone who gave me hope." It is a hope which both Damelin and Awwad are keen to stress is not based on pretending there are no disagreements but is instead rooted in the idea that the first step towards reconciliation is to recognise thesuffering of the other side "If you are pro-Palestinian or pro-Israel you are not helping us," said Damelin "You are just feeling good about yourself." the situation in Palestine is theoretical," said Awwad "Maybe that is why there is more militancy among British Muslims than there is in Palestine and it's the same with American Jews who seem less likely to compromise than Israelis Because they are not the ones who have to stand at roadblocks every day so it is easy for them to say they do not want to compromise." is possible; they are both hopeful for the future Damelin – who was born in South Africa – suggested that the Bereaved Families Forum could inspire a future Truth and Reconciliation Commission in Israel and Palestine "I remain an optimist," she said if you had told me in 1967 when I left South Africa that one day whites and blacks would sit together in the same room I would have thought you were mad." As mad perhaps as if she had been told that a Palestinian ex-revolutionary would become one of her closest friends "It is very difficult to give away things that belong to your child," she said in a quiet voice "It is like admitting that they will not come back "But I had this lovely jacket that a relation had brought David – a beautiful jacket – and Ali and David are the same height and build It was the right thing to have done." you cannot replace the child a mother has lost," said Awwad "Youssef and David will never come back again but at least you find something to live for Wherever I go I carry a picture of David with me The tea has been drunk and it is almost time to leave continually and publicly reopening the wounds of personal loss in the hope that it may eventually inspire peace I don't have a choice any more," said Damelin when asked how long she imagined she would continue travelling "I have a motherly relationship with Ali I care about what happens; maybe I am a little overprotective about him." There is a palpable sense that she and Awwad complete the other in some way offering some consoling echo of what has been lost Theirs is a friendship that only appears unusual when individuals are reduced to labels and tribes; and yet when Ali Abu Awwad and Robi Damelin are viewed not as Israelis and Palestinians the relationship begins not to feel unlikely at all "I have found in Robi what I didn't get from my own mother," said Awwad "She knows what kind of clothes I like This is the archive of The Observer up until 21/04/2025 The Observer is now owned and operated by Tortoise Media KSB’s RUV reactor coolant pump has been certified for use in China's latest generation III+ nuclear power stations The German pump and valve manufacturer has already received its first order to supply five of the pumps for the Shidaowan nuclear power station where the world’s largest AP/CAP series reactor will be built Part of the order will be manufactured at KSB headquarters in Frankenthal where the Shanghai Electric-KSB Nuclear Pumps & Valves Co Ltd (SEC-KSB) joint venture is based The RUV pump prototype has successfully passed tests in Lingang all measured values met or exceeded the official test specifications In total the pump set was in operation for more than 700 hours including more than 500 hours at a temperature of over 284°C was started and stopped more than 550 times KSB says that when dismantled after testing “The successful certification is an important milestone for KSB following a development period of close to ten years,” said Dr Stephan Bross “It underlines our position as a technology leader in the nuclear market This is a good starting point for us in the growing Chinese energy market We are expecting to receive orders that will safeguard jobs also in Germany.” Pump and valve manufacturer KSB AG is now trading as KSB SE & Co KGaA which is designed to maintain KSB’s stable ownership structure while opening up new strategic options for development follows a resolution adopted at the company’s 2017 Annual General Meeting The new legal form does not involve any changes for the company’s business partners The holders of ordinary and preference shares of what was KSB AG have become limited partners of the new company on the same terms The operations of the partnership limited by shares – Kommanditgesellschaft auf Aktien (KGaA) – will be headed by Dr Stephan Timmermann Ralf Kannefass and Dr Matthias Schmitz as managing directors The company will be managed by KSB Management SE as the general partner KSB Management SE includes five administrative board members: Oswald Bubel (chair) Bubel and Kühborth will resign from the KSB supervisory board with effect from 31 January 2018 the administrative board will set strategic guidelines and monitor their implementation “While the administrative board formally is the highest authority for the partnership limited by shares (KGaA) its members rather see themselves as sparring partners for management,” explained Bubel “What we can achieve together should be more than what we can do on our own Dr Timmermann sees the close organisational ties between the administrative board and management in KSB Management SE as an opportunity to jointly set the company’s future course: “The new form of cooperation affords an excellent opportunity to discuss and review ideas for shaping the future with experienced experts early on.” More than 80% of the ordinary shares of the new KSB SE & Co KGaA will continue to be held by Johannes and Jacob Klein GmbH a subsidiary of the not-for-profit KSB Stiftung [KSB Foundation] and the Kühborth-Stiftung GmbH KSB says that the change of legal form will in principle enable KSB SE & Co KGaA to raise capital on the stock market without the stabilising factor of the shareholders of Johannes and Jacob Klein GmbH being diminished This weeks Incident Photo is of German Navy mine hunter M106 Grömitz from back in February, 2007.  Cargo Law tells us; German Navy  Type 332 Frankenthal class mine hunter M106 Grömitz  (built 1994) based in Kiel — will remain for some time on the rocks where it grounded in the night of Feb 21 off the harbor Floræ on way to Bergen While hull remained so far undamaged in the grounding the bunker fuel will have to be taken off before salvage This probably will have to be undertaken by a sheerleg as a tug could cause hull damage when towing the ship off the rocks where Grömitz  is stuck fast with its bow pointing to the sky Cause of the grounding was said to be a navigational error but the small island could possible not be detected by radar in snowy conditions Ship was underway with other NATO-units within a mine hunting exercise She was expected in Bremerhaven the forthcoming weekend but this is very unsure now This, along with other incidents involving maritime and aviation transport can be found at Cargolaw.com Sign up for gCaptain’s newsletter and never miss an update and updates delivered daily straight to your inbox A Swedish probe found no conclusive evidence to suggest that a Chinese ship had deliberately dragged its anchor to damage two Baltic Sea cables Sweden's Accident Investigation Authority said on Tuesday though a separate investigation remains under way The Estonian navy detained and boarded a Russia-bound oil tanker on an EU sanctions list on Friday accusing it of sailing illegally without a valid country flag has sunk off the Egyptian resort town of Hurghada with 45 people on board The incident occurred around 1,000 meters offshore during an hour-long.. 90-year-old with a wild mane and alert eyes is one of the last living Holocaust survivors He is sitting in his living room in Bendestorf and talking about the anti-Semitic incidents that have occurred in Germany recent days "We Jews are once again easy targets for all the idiots walking our streets," he says The article you are reading originally appeared in German in issue 44/2023 (October 28th The house where he lives with his wife Dagmar is nothing short of a fortress The window panes are made of bulletproof glass and more than 20 surveillance cameras have been installed on the property with their images appearing on a monitor placed next to the fireplace Buterfas-Frankenthal says he has received two dozen death threats over the years One caller smeared him as a "Jewish swine" and told him he had built a box for him even testing it out by gassing a pig that weighed 85 kilograms Buterfas-Frankenthal has made it his life's work to tell the story of his survival under National Socialism he has been a guest speaker at schools and universities and appeared in theaters and town halls to warn against xenophobia and anti-Semitism he has been bestowed with the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany the World Peace Prize and the European Human Rights Medal Václav Havel and Mikhail Gorbachev are all hanging in his basement He has told his story in public precisely 1,563 times Two officers in black accompanied him as he spoke to high school students in a movie theater in the college town of Marburg two patrol cars were parked on campus as he told of Nazi atrocities in the lecture hall Buterfas-Frankenthal finds it "absolutely appalling" that police officers must now provide him with protection when he speaks about the Holocaust and the importance of not forgetting what happened Does this make him worry about his children and grandchildren A police officer provides security at a match of the Jewish team TSV Maccabi Munich Since Hamas terrorists attacked Israel on October 7 and murdered more than 1,400 Jews Germany has also been gripped by a new wave of anti-Semitism Palestinian terror sympathizers happily handed out baklava on the day of the attack and a snack bar in the town of Bad Hersfeld in the state of Hesse cut prices in half for two days after the horrific attack Molotov cocktails landed in front of the Kahal Adass Yisroel Synagogue police arrested an Islamist they suspect may have been planning to drive a truck into a pro-Israeli demonstration Previous escalations of the Middle East conflict have seen hatred and violence spill over into Germany But the anti-Israel and anti-Semitic outbursts have likely never been as massive or as numerous as they are now Police have counted some 1,800 politically motivated crimes since Hamas attacked Israel "What we are experiencing now is a watershed," says Thomas Haldenwang the president of the Office for the Protection of the Constitution and their reaction has been in line with what the country's difficult history demands "We must now show what 'Never Again' really means," Chancellor Olaf Scholz said during a visit to the New Synagogue in Dessau "It is intolerable that Jewish people are today once again living in fear – in our country of all places," German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier said at a rally held at the Brandenburg Gate on Sunday German Chancellor Olaf Scholz and Israeli Ambassador to Germany Ron Prosor (right) attend the opening of a synagogue in Dessau The pressure against supporters of Hamas and other anti-Israeli activists in Germany is set to be increased Interior Minister Nancy Faeser is preparing to ban certain events and to deport Islamists "Anyone who glorifies the terror of Hamas and anyone who threatens Jews will be prosecuted with the full force of the law," says the politician a member of the center-left Social Democrats (SPD) Efforts to protect Jewish and Israeli institutions have also been strengthened The tone of politicians has so far been resolute the policy response feels a little helpless If Israel is unable to prevent an attack like the one perpetrated by Hamas then how will Germany be able to provide a security guarantee that excludes the possibility of terror against Jews "Protecting Jewish life is a responsibility of the state – but it is also a civic duty!" the German president admonished on Sunday But what happens if fewer and fewer citizens are fulfilling their duty It's not just the open hatred on the streets that frightens Jews It's also the bitter realization of how many minds in which anti-Semitism has taken root - among those born in Germany among staunch neo-Nazis and even among cultured people who consider themselves to be intellectuals one young man with immigrant roots shouted at television cameras: "I'm for Adolf Hitler gas the Jews!" And in the Dorstfeld district of Dortmund neo-Nazis hung a banner from a balcony reading: "Israel is our misfortune." In Berlin apparently leftist youth could be heard chanting: "Free Palestine from German guilt." the country that perpetrated the Holocaust Solidarity with Israel and the Jews appears to have become threadbare Hostility toward Jews has gripped broad strata of society Even before the new war in the Middle East anti-Semitism had risen noticeably in Germany which probes the German population for anti-democratic and xenophobic attitudes found a dramatic increase in openly anti-Semitic positions Some 11.8 percent of respondents agreed with the statement that "the influence of Jews is still too great today." "What was long considered unspeakable has become permissible again," says Bielefeld conflict researcher Andreas Zick He says this is partially linked to the rise of the right-wing extremist Alternative for Germany (AfD) party and others subscribing to the exclusionary "völkisch" identity of nationality based on blood anti-Semitic conspiracy narratives seemed to spread as rapidly as the virus There were myths of powerful people in the background who supposedly wanted to use the vaccine to exert broad control Some protesters even wore yellow stars with the words "unvaccinated." Felix Klein the government's federal commissioner for Jewish life in Germany described the pandemic as an "accelerant for anti-Semitism" in Germany hatred of Israel and Jews among young people from immigrant communities and radical Muslims in particular is becoming increasingly obvious From October 7 until the middle of this week police had counted 1,254 politically motivated crimes which they ascribed to the category of "foreign ideologies" – secular ideologies imported to Germany from outside the country – in addition to 172 categorized as "religious ideology." "Free Palestine" graffiti in Berlin's Neukölln district A new variant of anti-Semitism is rearing its head on the left cloaked in the guise of solidarity with the Palestinians It has a new quality and goes beyond the hostility to Israel that anti-imperialists on the left have harbored for decades Meron Mendel has coined the term "woke anti-Semitism" to describe it the director of the Anne Frank Education Center which raises awareness about the consequences of discrimination and prejudice is called "Talking about Israel." As of October 7 is now no longer just the academic observer and chronicler he describes lying in bed at night being haunted by the images of massacre victims he did a reading at a "left-leaning immigrant club" in Bavaria He says he was surprised: "Their thoughts were exclusively with the victims of the Israeli counterattacks in Gaza." He still finds himself preoccupied by the "civilizational abyss" that opened up during the Hamas attacks "How can men who are fathers torture and murder children?" he asks "Never again is now": Memorial candles for the victims of Hamas terror at Bebelplatz square in Berlin Mendel criticized the government of Israel campaigning against the occupation and in favor of an independent Palestinian state But now he is shocked by the "complete lack of empathy" among those who "They completely ignore the lives of Jews," he says Mendel says elements of the cultural scene are also finding it surprisingly difficult to clearly condemn Hamas "as if they were left-wing freedom fighters and not a fundamentalist terrorist organization." the leading international art show in Kassel already demonstrated that things were changing for the worse The show was widely criticized that year for including anti-Semitic works: One included a soldier with a pig's face and a scarf bearing the Star of David all you have to do is look at the long list of international artists and intellectuals who signed an open letter in Artforum magazine They include famous artists like Nan Goldin gender studies pioneer Judith Butler and fashion designer Martin Margiela they call for "Palestinian liberation" and describe themselves as witnessing a "genocide." But there is no condemnation of Hamas' crimes "not even in the fine print," Mendel complains Only after several days was the letter amended to include a few meager words of regret for the Israeli dead Mendel bitterly notes that he currently finds more common ground with conservatives than with leftists despite the fact that he has always seen himself as being a part of the left an exaggerated form of anti-racism has become a central pillar of their thinking Fed by postcolonial discourses and the Black Lives Matter movement in the United States they divide the world into black and white the Israelis are privileged and the Palestinians disadvantaged even the most brutal massacres can be disregarded with the help of that thinking Anti-Israeli activists chant in front of the Foreign Ministry in Berlin can set the stage for scenes like the one that unfolded in front of Germany's Foreign Ministry this week where a group of activists dressed in hipster clothing gathered on the streets chanting: "Free Palestine from German Guilt." Terms like the "cult of guilt" had previously only been heard in Germany from the extreme right wing Extremists have been claiming for decades that German elites bow to Israel and the world because of the Nazi crimes it appears that some on the left are also longing for Germany to be freed from the its problematic history Marina Chernivsky is a psychologist who runs OFEK a counseling center for victims of anti-Semitism that has offices in five German states She says the number of requests at her center has increased thirteen-fold since October 7 "We've been experiencing exceptionally high volume for three weeks," says Chernivsky grew up in Israel and came to Berlin in 2001 The Jews contacting the counseling center have reported verbal assaults They have also voiced concerns about whether their children are still safe And discussed the traumas that the terror in Israel has caused them Chernivsky says there is a lack of general sympathy from the broader population Sitting back in his living room in Bendestorf wonders what "the Lord God actually still has in mind for his chosen people." The Jews have been blamed for all the evils of the world for 2,000 years He says he doesn't know what it would mean for Jews in Germany if the Israeli army were to launch a ground offensive against Hamas "Perhaps it's also something I would prefer not to think all the way through." He says he is at least as concerned about rising support for the AfD in Germany Honorary party chair Alexander Gauland once played down National Socialism by describing it as a "speck of bird poop" in German history the extremist right wing leader of the Thuringia state chapter of the AfD called the Holocaust memorial in Berlin a "monument of shame." As Buterfas-Frankenthal sees it AfD voters have "very little going on upstairs." He hopes that Germans will eventually wake up and realize this Buterfas-Frankenthal is planning to make appearances in the coming weeks in Bremen He is also planning to speak to prospective police officers to raise awareness about anti-Semitism his childhood memories have been available as digital learning material for students in grades five and up The title is: "What does anti-Jewish discrimination feel like?" It's likely that the lessons to be learned from Buterfas-Frankenthal have seldom been as important as they are now But frequent travel is becoming increasingly difficult for him at the age of 90 the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz Buterfas-Frankenthal is planning to speak to a group of students at Hamburg's St The precise time of the event is not going to be publicized Editor's note: An earlier version of this article erroneously stated that Iva Buterfas-Frankenthal's appearance at St Michael's Church in Hamburg was going to be open to the public Two new power plant units are being currently built in Tanda The KSB pumps are designed for a pressure of 500 bar An electric motor and a turbine with power ratings of 11 MW and 17 MW respectively will drive the pumps In addition to the high-pressure boiler feed pumps the KSB scope of supply includes six booster pumps gearboxes as well as noise enclosures and related instrumentation The pumps will be manufactured at KSB’s plant in Chinchwad Delivery will begin in November 2016 and is expected to be completed by May 2017 It looks like nothing was found at this location The international information and sales platform for centrifugal pumps Five of the ten minehunters of the Frankenthal class (MJ332) will be equipped with the most modern version of the IMCMS (Integrated Mine Countermeasures System) command and weapon deployment system between 2022 and 2025 The other five boats are already equipped with the IMCMS Following parliamentary approval of the budget on July 9 Information Technology and Use of the Bundeswehr (BAAINBw) commissioned Atlas Elektronik to deliver and install the systems The main task of minehunters is to search for and destroy sea mines They also serve as a basis for the deployment of mine divers they are equipped with sensors such as underwater sonar and unmanned underwater vehicles (sea fox The latter enable the reliable detection of objects at close range and the destruction of mines “By converting a further five boats to the latest generation IMCMS we are taking the next step towards standardizing the technology for sea mine action on mine hunting boats as well as the cross-sectional use of the IMCMS training and testing system,” said the responsible project manager at the Federal Office of Equipment Information technology and use of the Bundeswehr If you have any with due to the vendors’ delay in meeting certain pre-agreed conditions L’Space Gallery in New York City is set to showcase the innovative work of artist Danielle Frankenthal in a solo exhibition titled “Playing with Light.” Curated by art critic Lilly Wei the exhibition promises to challenge traditional notions of light and spatial perception in contemporary abstract art known for her pioneering technique of layering acrylic panels with various paint methods has spent over three decades developing a unique visual language that blurs the lines between physical and illusionistic space which include the Gardens and Clouds series evoke ephemeral landscapes and atmospheric nuances through dynamic brushwork The artist’s approach to light as an active participant in her creations sets her apart in the field of contemporary abstraction kaleidoscopic experience that challenges traditional ideas of depth and perspective Wei notes that in Frankenthal’s work “Light has top billing… while color and its incessant fluctuations are given critical supporting roles.” Frankenthal’s artistic lineage can be traced to influential female abstract painters such as Helen Frankenthaler her direct engagement with light as a medium distinguishes her work Building on Paul Cézanne’s concept of representing light through color Frankenthal extends this idea by incorporating light’s physical presence in a way that evolves with the viewer’s perception The exhibition underscores Frankenthal’s ability to capture the transient beauty of light and color positioning her as a distinctive voice in contemporary abstraction Wei describes the artist’s works as “an invitation to step into a world of impermanence and possibility where perception itself is as fluid and layered as her compositions.” “Playing with Light” will be on view at L’Space Gallery The opening night reception is scheduled for February 20th from 6 to 8 PM with an artist’s talk to be announced at a later date
