written permission of Rodman Media Named after the Glasgow pub they formed in Gallus seem to be on an unstoppable roll at the moment Following last summer's release of their debut album new music has quickly followed with the infectious chant-worthy Wash Your Wounds (featuring Tina Sandwich) arriving at the start of this month we catch up with guitarist and backing vocalist Eamon Ewins to find out more You released your debut album just last summer – how was the rest of your year following its release? We had a solid year last year after the album dropped We played Primavera and a bunch of other really fun festivals in Europe around that time then went on tour with Heavy Lungs in England The amount of airmiles we racked up was ridiculous so we're excited to do some shows closer to home this week Despite only releasing the album last year you’re already back with a brand new single; Wash Your Wounds is super catchy how come it didn’t feature on the record? It was written after the album Gian [Bernacchi] and Matt [McGoldrick] are still pretty new to the band (two years and one year and we all clicked creatively in a way that was really different and exciting We wrote Wash Your Wounds and felt like we'd hit a new creative streak and felt like we needed to get it out to show people that we're a new animal now record and release in a day we probably would Can you tell us a bit more about the single It’s surely not as black and white as the title might suggest?I'm sure you have read that our generation (millennial/gen Z) is the first generation of people in a long long time that can expect their living standards to be worse than the generation before we're fed this narrative about a mental health epidemic sweeping through society like it's a viral infection People are depressed and sad because the world is sad and depressing You're not unwell for feeling anxious about the state of the world and worrying about you and your kid’s future You can now pay for apps that are designed to help your mental health when really that's papering over the cracks The problems in our lives need real political change Capitalism poisons you and then sells you the antidote We wanted Wash Your Wounds to rally against all that but also try to be uplifting The world doesn't need another band singing about how hard their life is and don't blame yourself for the crises you're being served up You’ve got a run of dates coming up this week in Scotland – what can fans expect at the shows?Lots of new music in the same vein as Wash Your Wounds Edinburgh is sold out; [the others] are heading that way The supports we've got are amazing too – the most exciting bands coming out of Scotland right now We want these shows to be a statement of intent We haven't done a Scottish tour for four years; the last one was the week before lockdown #1 hit We want to make up for that with the best shows we've played in every town What does the rest of 2024 look like for Gallus We've got a lot of new music on the way as well as some pretty exciting festivals to announce It's hard to say too much at the minute before anything is announced but we're all really excited about what's next for us After the Scottish shows we have a European tour we're really excited for We're not going to rest on our laurels; I can say that much Just don't expect more of the same from us Wash Your Wounds is out now; Gallus play The Tunnels gallusareaband.co.uk Subscribe its new matte finishing technology for the Gallus One allowing converters to produce digital labels in-line with a high-end matte finish at the touch of a button Initially unveiled as a research breakthrough at Labelexpo Americas 2024 strong market demand led Gallus to fast-track the development of Gallus MatteJet achieving a premium look by removing the traditional digitally printed gloss finish paves the way for broader use in labels and packaging – particularly in high-end segments like wine and spirits said: ‘Gallus and Heidelberg are delighted to announce the commercial launch of Gallus MatteJet technology and the opportunity it represents matte finishing for digital inkjet has only been achievable through integrating flexo units or post-processing equipment to utilize matte coatings – adding time by eliminating the need for these types of varnishes customers can unlock various efficiencies whilst retaining the surface texture of their desired substrate This also eliminates any required tooling and cleaning of coating machinery adding up to a significant overall benefit we addressed the TCO barrier to profitable digital labels bringing all the advantages of digitally printed matte labels to premium brands – including short runs ‘These strategic developments demonstrate our commitment to closing the gap between the vast promise of digital technologies and the current reality for businesses across our industry Making the embrace of digital solutions an accessible and profitable path of Business Development Thomas Schweizer Learn more about Gallus One by visiting heidelberg.com/us/gallus-one Dive in to learn how Gallus’ acquisition by Heidelberg in 2014 brought benefits to both companies particularly in developing digital technology has retired after a long and storied career leading his family business Winner of the R Stanton Avery Special Recognition Award at Labelexpo Americas last year he will spend this year visiting and bidding farewell to long-standing customers on perhaps the most important decision of his 45-year career: the sale of Gallus the family business founded by his grandfather in 1923 and previously run by his father Rüesch family involvement in the company is no more ‘There is some sadness about that aspect,’ he admits ‘as there was in 1999 when we sold Heidelberg the initial 30 percent stake in Gallus my father and I decided that it was the best path for the future and I know that it was the right decision.’ It is instructive to look at today’s digital printing landscape Can any major press manufacturer in the sector claim to be a medium-sized All are either major multinational manufacturing corporations themselves or have partnered with one for technology development Gallus was seeking investment and resources for the development of digital printing technology when it sold an initial stake to Heidelberg in 1999 before completing the sale in 2014 Ferdi Rüesch took over from his father in 1990 and set about accelerating Gallus’ global growth by opening subsidiaries in the US sheet-fed offset press manufacturer Heidelberg which was keen to diversify into the flexo industry approached Rüesch about the possibility of an acquisition was attracted not only by Gallus’ flexo technology but also by its experience in combination printing where the company would routinely employ different systems such as flexo and I know that it was the right decision” ‘We are at home in the roll-to-roll market; their expertise was in sheet-to-sheet Our technology would complement the Heidelberg portfolio.’ Rüesch was reluctant to endorse a full sale ‘But I knew there was a need for digital printing in the industry and recognized that Gallus needed support in order to develop it,’ he says Gallus had attempted previous forays into digital press development including with Benny Landa in the mid-1990s Heidelberg offered to acquire a 30 percent stake in a deal that included an option to buy the remaining 70 percent in the future We decided it was a good offer to enter this kind of partnership,’ says Rüesch with the joint development of the Labelfire hybrid press and a digital finishing module for the Gallus ECS flexo machine ‘It was an advantage for customers to have one supplier for these different printing technologies And Gallus benefited hugely from Heidelberg’s technology expertise We wouldn’t have been able to do it without Heidelberg’s support,’ says Rüesch Rüesch says it was then the right time for both parties to complete the deal ‘It was complicated to divide the R&D costs they could open doors for us at big companies which we otherwise couldn’t enter.’ The full acquisition was finalized in 2014 Rüesch became Heidelberg’s largest individual shareholder at the time and focused on managing key accounts before becoming a supervisory board member in 2018 A low point came in 2021 when an attempted acquisition of Gallus by Benpac failed We lost some credibility among the converter market and had to spend all our energy regaining trust from our customers The fact that my team and I were still in place helped this ‘My proudest achievements are continuing the work of my father and moving Gallus into the digital printing world with Heidelberg,’ says Rüesch ‘We have a place in the digital arena with products that suit the demands of different profiles of label converters and the digital label market was one of the biggest areas of growth so our digital technology development with them was a hugely important achievement.’ Rüesch sees Gallus’ legacy as a series of pioneering presses in different technology areas ‘Our T180 press set the world standard in combination printing We were also a pioneer in UV flexo technology with the industry’s first fully servo-driven flexo press The RCS330 set a benchmark in roll-to-roll label printing And our Labelfire hybrid press was launched in 2014 so Gallus was early in establishing a global network of customers ‘The label industry allows a very close relationship between supplier and customer I see this with Gallus but also with our competitors There is something special about the industry.’ Gallus CEO Dario Urbinati is clear that Heidelberg’s acquisition of the company in 2014 has been ‘hugely beneficial’ when Heidelberg was a minority shareholder and spent nine years with the company before stints at Omet and Actega He rejoined Gallus as head of sales and service in 2021 before becoming CEO in 2022 ‘We had attempted several times as a smaller company to enter the digital space,’ he recalls ‘Gallus had shown great ambition and determination to enter the sector ‘Developing digital technology is a different game It’s not the same as conventional press development It is less mechatronic and requires a better understanding of chemistry and software Partnering with Heidelberg — and then later becoming fully owned by the company — was absolutely the correct decision Gallus is an important pillar in the Heidelberg Group’s packaging business Urbinati’s return to Gallus as CEO took place a year after the failed acquisition But it was the catalyst for a rethinking of our strategy We spoke to our customers and listened to their challenges We drilled down to how we could really address these concerns and it became the starting point for a new development cycle focusing on smart We started designing products together with the customer it is easier and cheaper for customers to adjust to an ever-changing production environment and it provides greater investment security A customer once asked me: “How can I buy a machine which depreciates over 10 years when I don’t know what I’m going to print in five years?” I decided to address that challenge “We provide the instruments to the customer ‘The primary task was reducing the TCO barrier to profitable digital labels But ensuring long-term success is about more than just machinery Modularity and flexibility by design must incorporate all the other elements service and overall business model and strategy it allows standardization of the production environment while allowing flexibility of application because you can add or remove modules as you please We call it “System to Compose”: we provide the instruments to the customer this new strategy has been put into reality so I believe that out of a challenging situation came a very positive outcome The teams at both Gallus and Heidelberg worked together better than ever to adjust to our customers’ challenges ‘Our success since the new strategy was implemented shows it’s the right path We want System to Compose to set a new industry standard It’s an open system designed for collaboration We have more than 20 industry partners showing their technology in our Experience Center in St Gallen: Esko ‘We have some tremendous products in our pipeline System to Compose will continue to be updated with new technologies and options for our customers We have a drive to automate our industry to bring ease of use and flexibility to our products and systems Two key factors are driving the continued consolidation of the label industry according to Ferdi Rüesch: a generation shift among converting businesses and the influx of private equity investment into the sector many industry pioneers founded successful businesses The second generation then took over 25-odd years later Now another generation change is happening as that second-generation retires,’ he says private equity investors have been moving into the industry the label sector is still fragmented and ripe for consolidation So there are two significant drivers.’ Rüesch points out that in the US the tax system encourages the sale of businesses rather than passing them down to the next generation ‘This attitude towards business is now coming to Europe through private equity investment.’ It remains important to carve a niche ‘Small and niche is good; big and profitable is good It is the medium-sized companies that are under pressure The converting industry is still very strong in local and regional markets but it can be harder to compete in the international market.’ Experience enhanced compatibility and full adaptability between leading product lines with proven Gallus Labelmaster within an impressive timeframe “We are delighted to report the successes of two Gallus One customers in digital label printing: powerful examples of how our ongoing innovation efforts in this strategic growth segment are continuing to deliver transformative solutions to market and creating a meaningful real-world impact,” comments Dario Urbinati “Flexon and Yeloprint are dynamic and thriving businesses and we look forward to partnering and supporting their activities over the coming months and years.” A new benchmark: the lowest TCO for digital label production The latest to share their successes with the Gallus One, Flexon and Yeloprint join a growing roster of satisfied customers and successful installations since the machine’s launch in 2022. Earlier last year, US-based PrintFlex revealed how the Gallus One had reduced production costs explaining that the team were “thrilled” with the investment which offered them “the lowest total cost of ownership [TCO] for digital label production.” With an existing Gallus Labelfire 340 and a positive experience of Gallus customer service Already printing commercial jobs within the operator training period the company claims to have installed the digital label press – which it chose with an additional flexo unit and a semi-rotary die cutting module – to accelerate job changeover times for increasingly shorter label runs Streamlining production and boosting profitabilityMartin Chaluš “Given increasingly shorter orders and frequent changes in artwork the importance of digital printing is growing which is why we looked at installing a digital label press the custom composition of this new solution means that we now have a finished label that ‘falls out’ of the press needing only to be cut streamlining production and increasing profitability and the Gallus One has now replaced up to two of our conventional presses if someone had told me that I would have two powerful digital machines by 2024 Anyone who wants to stay in the market will need an appropriate combination of both digital and conventional technologies also including two flexo units and a semi-rotary die-cutting unit The company was looking to diversify its technology offering to provide faster Thanks to its successful experience with its Gallus TCS 250 the Gallus One was Yeloprint’s obvious choice – with the press offering one of the lowest TCOs on the market as well the speed and print quality it was looking for “We needed additional capabilities to meet changing customer expectations for shorter runs but didn’t want to invest in a large flexo machine A digital press was the logical step,” comments Dávid Péter “We chose the Gallus One because of its speed with our previous Gallus systems providing a critical confidence in their solutions and we calculate a return on investment within only two to three years.” Driving digital adoption with Gallus MatteJet Beyond the Gallus One and the addition of the System to Compose concept Gallus also achieved a research breakthrough in 2024 with the announcement of Gallus MatteJet which brings the possibilities of digital inkjet to the wine and spirits label market MatteJet addresses a key challenge that has historically restricted the growth of digital inkjet technology The technology paves the way for customers to serve the premium label market where sophisticated matte labels are crucial to many brands without the need for external finishing processes or separate conventional machines we had a successful 2024,” continues Urbinati “Through its unique operational agility and flexibility to tackle evolving challenges our System to Compose concept has really connected with customers providing them an all-important confidence in meeting the changing industry dynamics Drupa also saw us showcase important new developments such as the newest evolution of the Gallus One offering a wider print width of 430mm and expanded color gamut for fast-tracked to market on the back of customer demand The Swiss manufacturer and Heidelberg subsidiary revealed the MatteJet concept at Labelexpo Americas last September CEO Dario Urbinati told Printweek: “Inkjet has some really great features but one of the problems with inkjet is it’s always a bit glossy and this was a hindering factor in further inkjet introduction in specific segments “So we said let’s look into the possibility to do a surface modification in a way that the ink becomes matte.” MatteJet was developed at the Gallus Experience Center innovation hub in St Gallen It means label printers do not need to use additional coatings or post-printing processes to achieve the desired effect Urbinati said the surface modification involved a special lamp UK-based curing and drying specialist and long-standing Gallus partner GEW played a key role in the development Gallus said the modular device – which can be retrofitted to the Gallus One digital press – opened up markets for inkjet printing such as high-end wines and spirits The group said the global wine label market was estimated at more than $3.5bn (£2.7bn) and projected to hit $5.8bn by 2033.  Urbinati said the MatteJet demonstrated its commitment to “closing the gap between the vast promise of digital technologies and the current reality for businesses across our industry” Printweek welcomes indie-punk band As they bicker genially over afternoon pints in a Glasgow beer garden “We want to have fun,” says singer Barry Dolan The best thing about live music is seeing a band having the time of their lives We want people to come and forget their problems and let off steam for 45 minutes.” And the old friends go back to happily squabbling about which member originally wanted to name them The Alphabets whether Frank Sinatra played Celtic Park or Ibrox and how many songs they managed to get through at their debut gig before running out of material THE CURE, BRYAN FERRY, THE MC5, RADIOHEAD, KIM DEAL, PAUL WELLER AND MORE STAR IN THE NEW UNCUT – ORDER A COPY HERE The Glasgow five-piece were founded by cousins Eamon Ewins (guitar) and drummer Paul Ewins after they left university and realised they needed to find something to do the bar near Kelvingrove Park that ultimately supplied their name – it’s a Scottish word for bold or confident he had studied acting so the Ewins figured he might provide the stage presence the other two were lacking After making their debut at the city’s legendary King Tut’s Gallus were soon carving out a reputation as an unpredictable and entertaining live act Fast forward a few years and Gallus signed to Marshall to release their 2023 debut album a series of punky songs fuelled by that heady combination of anxiety and adrenaline including being named Best Rock Band at the Scottish Alternative Music Awards in 2022 and shows supporting Biffy Clyro up the road in Edinburgh Now featuring second guitarist Gianluca Bernacchi and Matt McGoldrick on bass – both formerly of Paisley’s Vegan Leather – Gallus are preparing to unveil a new approach for a December tour supporting fellow Glaswegians Dead Pony which will include shows at the Garage in London Leadmill in Sheffield and The Deaf Institute in Manchester “A lot of the album is quite sad because we wrote it in lockdown,” says Eamon “We wanted to write stuff that is a bit more upbeat as Matt and Gian have changed our sound a bit ‘Wash Your Wounds’ is about how things in Britain are shit if you are young but feeling sorry for ourselves won’t fix anything.” That bullish attitude has long been present in Gallus live shows When bassist McGoldrick first saw the band perform in a Glasgow dive bar he was impressed by Dolan’s ability to command an audience Dolan pulled out his phone and FaceTimed McGoldrick while he was on holiday encouraging the audience to chant an impolite greeting to their missing bassist and his bewildered girlfriend “We have more of these off-the-cuff moments,” muses Paul Ewins “We might have to start subbing out songs for bits.” Dolan feels humour is important as a way of building camaraderie with their fans “We want to make the crowd feel like part of the show because if they are involved they are more inclined to have a good time,” says Dolan Gallus cherished the opportunity they were given to record We Don’t Like The People We Become at Marshall’s state-of-the-art studio in Milton Keynes Being on the label gave them access to equipment and experiences that would otherwise be far beyond their reach experienced engineers and access to the factory next door to fine-tune their Marshall amps understand the music scene and run the label as a way of developing bands,” says Paul The group want to take the experience they have gained at the Milton Keynes studio into local Glasgow studios Bernacchi will produce their forthcoming EP and new songs are already bedded in Gallus have one inspired by Coronation Street serial killer Richard Hillman called “Cool To Drive” and another called “Depressed Beyond Tablets” “We are playing to our new musical strengths which are a lot more energetic,” says Dolan “We want to really throw ourselves into the music.” Gallus conduct Uncut around some of their home city’s significant spots Although Gallus are named after a pub in Glasgow’s West End they arrange to meet Uncut on the other side of the city at St Luke’s That’s partly because the 600-capacity St Luke’s is a venue that the group have twice headlined but it’s also because they now avoid Bar Gallus after an acquaintance stole the door from a toilet cubicle This is as hedonistic a city as any in the UK and therefore a great place for young bands to take their first steps “One of the great things about Glasgow music is there is always a history of bands,” says Dolan who cites groups as diverse as Mogwai and Biffy Clyro as influences The small size and friendly nature of Glasgow creates a unique scene in which superstars rub shoulders with fans Bassist McGoldrick talks about the importance of seeing Franz Ferdinand in local bars venues and record shops as he was growing up “Franz Ferdinand were the quintessential Glasgow rock band,” he says “They had a buzz about them and were approachable 17 and having them right in front of you was really exciting.” While bands like Franz Ferdinand and Belle & Sebastian coalesced around the 13th Note – since closed – the key venue for alternative guitar bands of the 2010s was the Priory Located on Sauchiehall Street and run by Gallus’s manager it was a home for young bands and a testing ground – if you could win over the Priory audience Gallus were regulars – on stage and in the audience – though the bar closed in 2023 there are still plenty of other grassroots Glasgow venues such as King Tut’s St Luke’s and Mono are participants in one of the biggest events of the year for Glasgow music “It’s a festival that takes place at venues all around here,” explains Eamon “All the venues have bands playing through the day and it’s like a neighbourhood all-dayer.” Dolan describes it as “one of the best things about Glasgow It’s given us a platform and it’s great for local bands.” The East End is also home to Glasgow Green another event at which Gallus have performed but the area is best known as the location of Barrowland the legendary ballroom that has hosted just about every Scottish band of distinction as well as groups from all over the world When asked which venue in Glasgow they’d most like to play the members of Gallus answer as one: Barrowland “It’s the pinnacle for any Scottish band,” says Dolan “International bands have said it’s the best venue in the world.” A headline spot at Barrowland is well within their scope It was Gallus’s reputation as a feverish live act that first brought them to the attention of Marshall and signed us after we sold out King Tut’s in our first gig after Covid,” says Eamon “It was really quick between hearing they were interested and us going down to Milton Keynes to record.” That journey down to Buckinghamshire was made easier by access to Marshall in-ear Motif earbuds – essential items for a group where five different members with five different musical preferences are all cooped up together in one small van Thanks to Glasgow’s long history as a music city and its location in the centre of Scotland the city boasts the other important features of a thriving music scene There are excellent record shops like Monorail the cheap utopia of Missing Records near the station and Assai on Sauchiehall Street The latter is an independent Scottish chain that celebrates Scottish music with in-stores and signings for local bands There are also excellent recording studios many run by older Glasgow musicians such as Mogwai’s Castle Of Doom while the long-running Carlton Studios is an indie institution that includes rehearsal rooms and community spaces Music is embedded in the culture of Glasgow in a way seen in few other cities It’s in the numerous karaoke pubs and bars the abundant record shops – even the pipe bands buskers and bagpipes that are found on every other street corner And the existence of that music encourages young bands like Gallus – and all the other Glasgow bands that came before – to have big dreams “The Hydro is one of the top five big venues in the UK so there is that appetite for music in Glasgow,” muses Paul Ewins “Barrowlands still has a gig basically every single night “You see guitar bands like Idles and Fontaines playing the Hydro – that’s something you might not have seen a few years ago and that gives us hope,” says Dolan “To see bands you can identify with performing at such a high level – that’s really inspiring.” fatal four-way match -Chuey Martinez conducted a sit-down interview with Kendal Grey She said she followed in her brother’s footsteps into contact sports and touted her college wrestling experience Ice Williams was shown sitting in the VIP section which is a ringside area with a plush white couch cordoned off by movie theater-style red ropes The announcers mentioned that London’s attire is similar to that of his idol London performed a good standing dropkick but was stopped cold with a huge German suplex from Lewis London came back with an innovative flip over the top rope into a dropkick but ate a big fist when he attempted a dive off the top turnbuckle Lewis followed that up with the Boomslang (a jackhammer variation) for the quick victory That flipping dropkick from London was super impressive Lewis has a good look and great intensity.) -Chuey Martinez interviewed Lewis at ringside He said he wanted a face-off with Keanu Carver and Evolve GM Stevie Turner needs to make it happen Gallus (Joe Coffey & Mark Coffey & Wolfgang) hit the ring and taunted Lewis who was ushered to the back by other wrestlers (2) GALLUS (Joe Coffey & Mark Coffey & Wolfgang) vs JACK CARTWHEEL & CAPPUCCINO JONES & JORDAN OASIS Cartwheel showed off why he goes by that name Cartwheel and Jones showcased a couple of excellent double dropkicks followed by stereo dives over the top rope the announcers were talking up the excitement of it being WrestleMania week as the two teams traded exciting offense A double hot tag was made to Oasis and Joe Oasis landed an incredible blackout cannonball that would take too many words to describe here Gallus eventually double-teamed Oasis with a hard right hand but Oasis & Cartwheel & Jones got to show off some flashes of brilliance here Not once was the irony of a couple of wrestlers named Coffey battling a wrestler named Cappuccino mentioned -Chuey Martinez conducted a sit-down interview with Chantel Monroe She said she was scouted at the gymnastics nationals and didn’t think it was for her at first because she’s very prissy and girly but she realized that since she likes to perform and connect with an audience -Kali Armstrong sat down for an interview with Chuey Martinez The announcers talked about Bernal’s seeming lack of confidence lately He superkicked the taste out of Mensah’s mouth and got a two-count Mensah hit a fancy back flip-kick onto Bernal A somersault kick to the back of the neck of Bernal (Miller’s Take: The storyline of Bernal trying to regain his confidence continues -The last of the sit-down interviews with the four women involved in the main event was conducted with Brinley Reece She said she’s going to go in there and prove that she’s going to be the face of Evolve -Evolve GM Stevie Turner announced Timothy Thatcher vs and Carlee Bright in a return to action next week Bright was shown in the VIP section being overly happy Armstrong got teamed up on by the other three and tossed out of the ring Quick pin attempts by them all until an angry Armstrong re-entered the ring Armstrong piled all three of her opponents in the corner and speared them at once A four-way submission was applied mid-ring Armstrong followed up a double pin attempt with a double clothesline Grey dove onto all three women with a flying press as they were fighting on the floor Reece was at the bottom of a pyramid superplex exactly like the one we saw in the men’s fatal four-way last night on NXT Reece and Grey slugged it out on their knees Grey took down all women with consecutive fireman’s carry takedowns Armstrong caught a crossbody attempt by Grey and turned it into a powerslam Reece threw Armstrong out and attempted a leverage pin on Grey with her feet on the ropes but the referee saw it and broke the count Armstrong slipped back in the ring and clotheslined Reece to the floor She then shot Monroe into the ropes for a powerslam and the pinfall given the level of experience of these women Grey’s personality and athleticism also stand out We’ve already seen what Reece can do in NXT Given the ranting and raving that Armstrong has been doing lately -Evolve GM Stevie Turner applauded the victorious Armstrong as the show closed FINAL THOUGHTS: Pretty decent showing tonight I really love the old-school studio wrestling feel that Evolve cultivates with the sectioned-off area of the Performance Center that they use for these tapings the wrestlers have to learn how to connect with fans on an intimate level The use of lower-tier NXT wrestlers in Evolve is a nice touch and it helps to have a more experienced worker in the ring to carry the rookies through their matches Evolve matches are kept relatively short in comparison to NXT and the main roster so the limitations of the Performance Center and ID athletes are not exposed You must be logged in to post a comment Now with three payment method options… Pay Pal… Directly with your Credit or Debit Card… Or with Patreon. 60 For each agro-ecology, the sample size (including the number of birds of each sex) is presented in Supplementary Table 2 Figure 1. Sampling sites. (A) Osteological study. (B) Morphological study. See Supplementary Table 1 for the GPS coordinates For the morphological study we sampled the whole region (Supplementary Tables 1, 2) three villages (one for each agro-ecology) were sampled for the osteological study Tsibet encompasses the highest elevation in the region (3,965 m.a.s.l.) and represents the highland agro-ecology the temperature drops as low as 2°C in the coldest month The main crops grown here are tef (Eragrostis tef) along with wheat (Triticum aestivum) Mesanu stretches over an elevation ranging from 1,825 to 2,625 m.a.s.l The main crops grown in this village are barley (Hordeum vulgare) Maykadra is a lowland agro-ecology village with an altitude of around 626 m.a.s.l The peak temperatures can reach up to 46°C in the hottest month (May) and the main crops are sesamum (Sesamum indicum) and sorghum The sampled chickens had to fulfill the following criteria: (i) the owner had kept them for more than 8 years or inherited them from a family member; (ii) the household had no history of market exchange and crossing with exotic chickens; (iii) they were either healthy 1 year (or older) cocks or 7 month-old (or older) hens that had reproduced at least once (to avoid biases associated with immaturity) we only sampled one chicken per household to avoid the sampling of related birds The sampling protocols and procedures were approved by the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee of the International Livestock Research Institute (IREC2017-26) Example of photographs of morphological traits and their measurements for their analysis using the ImageJ software The chickens were slaughtered, deboned and boiled to remove any meat and tendon following the procedure recommended by Davis and Payne (1992). The bones were then measured using a digital vernier caliper with a 0.01 mm accuracy following Von den Driesch (1976) (Supplementary Figure 3) we distinguished two categories: (i) forelimb greatest length—scapula and carpometacarpus; (ii) hindlimb greatest length—femur to validate Bergmann’s and Allen’s rules we employed “gls” syntax by setting the morphological and osteological traits as response variables and all the environmental variables as the dependent variable we incorporated their correlation structure (corLin and corSpher) and chose a model with minimum AIC we rechecked the presence of spatial autocorrelation for the selected model using Mora’s test (R2) and probability values were considered in accepting or rejecting the rules (Bergmann Similar procedures were applied to assess the relationship between the osteological and morphological traits we put each osteological trait as a independent variable and the morphological traits as a dependent variable To validate Rensch’s rule, we also calculated the SSDI value using the formula ([male / female] − 1) proposed by Lovich and Gibbons (1992). The linear regression model was then applied, and the packages “ggpmisc” (Aphalo, 2021) and “ggplot2” (Wickham et al., 2016) were used to plot the outputs we set the SSDI as an independent variable and the log-transformed morphology and osteology measurements as a dependent variable Principal component analysis (PERMANOVA result) based on morphology data (male and female) (A) Morphology; (B) appendix length; and (C) appendix surface area The first and second principal components (PC) explained 90.6 and 9.4% of the variation in the female chickens PC1 and PC2 explained 96 and 4% of the variations in the male chickens (MANOVA analysis followed by discriminate analysis) the agro-ecology was not associated with the forelimb greatest length measurements [Pillai’s = 0.96 P-value > 0.1 and Pillai’s = 0.51 Osteology picture of male and female chicken across the three agroecologies Relationships (multiple linear regression) between morphological and osteological variables Linear regression model of (A) wingspan versus humerus and (B) shank length versus tarsometatarsus greatest length Overall, our findings agreed with the expectation of Bergmann’s rule. However, more temperature variable gradients (3 out of 7) than precipitation ones (1 out of 4) were correlated with BMI in both sexes (Tables 2, 3 and Figure 6) the mean temperature of the coldest quarter (bio11) was correlated with BMI (R2 = 0.05 as was the precipitation of the warmest quarter (bio18) (R2 = 0.05 The lowland cocks’ BMI was also correlated with the maximum temperature of the warmest month (bio5) (R2 = 0.01 the hens adapted to the lowland agro-ecology also showed an association between the BMI and minimum temperature of the coldest month (bio6) (R2 = 0.007 There was no association between the BMI of the hens and cocks and the remaining environmental variables or the altitude (P-value > 0.1) Relationships (multiple linear regression) between male chicken phenotypes and environmental variables (Bergmann’s rule) Relationships (multiple linear regression) between female chicken phenotypes and environmental variables (Bergmann’s rule) Correlation between environmental variables and chicken morphology (BMI) to validate Bergmann’s rule Relationships (multiple linear regression) between male chicken appendages and environmental variables (Allen’s rule) Relationships (multiple linear regression) between female chicken appendages and environmental variables (Allen’s rule) Bubble graph of BMI and shank length for indigenous chicken We found sexual size dimorphism (SSD) to increase with body size in male chickens, in agreement with Rensch’s rule (Figures 8, 9) body length and shank length had significant slope increments with values of 2.15 the chicken osteology measurements also supported the validity of Rensch’s rule and tarsometatarsus showing significant (P-value < 0.0001) slope increments with values of 2.29 Figure 8. Test of Rensch’s rule for the morphology. The regression was run log (male morphological trait) as dependent variable and SSDI value (Lovich and Gibbons, 1992) was calculated with the following formula ([Male/Female] – 1) as independent variable; (A) shank length Figure 9. Test of Rensch’s male for indigenous chicken osteology (hindlimb and forelimb). The regression was run log (male osteological trait) as dependent variable and SSDI value (Lovich and Gibbons, 1992) was calculated with the following formula ([Male/Female] – 1) as independent variable P-value = 0.0001; (D) tarsometatarsus length with light chickens having smaller bone sizes support the hypothesis that the measurement of osteological characters may inform chicken morphological traits which is of particular interest to zooarchaeologists and other researchers interested in understanding the evolution of the morphology of indigenous chickens in relation to their value as a food commodity The BMI variation in indigenous Tigrayan chickens was correlated with altitude and several climatic clines (Tables 2, 3), e.g., temperature (bio1, bio 4–7, and bio 10–11) and precipitation (bio12, bio15, and bio18–19) (Figure 6) This is in agreement with the expectation of Bergmann’s rule our study provides strong support for this biological rule in indigenous chickens by incorporating relevant abiotic factors beyond altitude and annual temperature human and sexual selection for larger male chickens may also have played a role we have no evidence for the studied population that these selection pressures may have acted differently across populations and altitudinal zones For the indigenous chickens of the Tigray Region of Ethiopia we have shown that the variation of morphological and osteological traits across the agro-ecologies follows the expectation of the three main biological rules (Bergmann Whether or not it is the case for chicken populations in other regions of Ethiopia other countries or continents remains to be studied An important next step will also be to assess to what extent the morphological and osteological trait differences are genetically determined or are a consequence of the phenotypic plasticity of the species This study may also pave the way for similar studies in other livestock species The model developed to predict chicken morphology from osteological measurements will also help to predict chicken morphology from zooarchaeological remains The raw data supporting the conclusions of this article will be made available by the authors This animal study was reviewed and approved by the Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee of the International Livestock Research Institute (IREC2017-26) The authors would like to acknowledged the following institutions and personnel for funding and facilitating the research: the International Livestock Research Institute (ILRI) LiveGene Program, supported by the CGIAR Research Program on Livestock (CRP livestock project) and sponsored by the CGIAR funding contributors to the Trust Fund (http://www.cgiar.org/about-us/our-funders/) the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and UK aid from the UK Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office (Grant Agreement OPP1127286) under the auspices of the Centre for Tropical Livestock Genetics and Health (CTLGH) established jointly by the University of Edinburgh This study was conducted as part of GB’s Ph.D research that was funded by the Tigray Agricultural Research Institute and Addis Ababa University (College of Natural and Computational Science Department of Microbial Cellular and Molecular Biology) An early draft of the manuscript was reviewed by Drs Yayneshet Tesfay and Gebregziabher Gebreyohanes We thank both reviewers for their constructive comments on enhancing the manuscript We also appreciate Jacqueline Smith’s contribution to reviewing the revised version of the manuscript English write-up The authors declare that the research was conducted in the absence of any commercial or financial relationships that could be construed as a potential conflict of interest All claims expressed in this article are solely those of the authors and do not necessarily represent those of their affiliated organizations Any product that may be evaluated in this article or claim that may be made by its manufacturer is not guaranteed or endorsed by the publisher The findings and conclusions contained within were those of the authors and do not necessarily reflect the positions or policies of BMGF nor the UK Government The Supplementary Material for this article can be found online at: https://www.frontiersin.org/articles/10.3389/fevo.2023.1032082/full#supplementary-material The influence of physical conditions in the genesis of species doi: 10.1038/scientificamerican05251907-26247supp CrossRef Full Text | Google Scholar The ability of White Leghorn hens with trimmed comb and wattles to thermoregulate Anderson, B. call-ups to the WWE main roster Gallus are going to be near the top of a lot of people’s lists Given how long they’ve been in WWE system going back to their NXT UK days and the fact they’re held in high enough regard to have helped train The Rock for his return at WrestleMania earlier this year It seems like it’s just a matter of time and planning and one of the potential plans that people have thrown around is putting Gallus with Drew McIntyre of course stemming from their Scottish connection bringing in Gallus as his backup and going on to lead them as a new four-man group could be a good direction for him off the back of losing out to CM Punk at Bad Blood Which 10 NXT stars are ready to graduate and be called up to Raw or SmackDown in 2025 While NXT is quite successful as a brand in and of itself the eventual goal of every member of the developmental roster should be a graduation onto the main roster and a spot either on Monday Night Raw or Friday Night SmackDown either through the annual draft or in more randomized fashion just suddenly appearing as the latest signing from a general manager It's a mutually beneficial system and good means to freshen things up and allow for new feuds all while giving the rookies more people to learn from We now also know for sure that WWE will put NXT stars on Raw and SmackDown quite soon there will be a "transfer window" where talent can be swapped around Whether it happens immediately or is part of a slower roll out over the course of 2025 certain wrestlers in NXT are more than ready to take the leap and either sink or swim in the big leagues Here are over 10 NXT stars who should be traded to the main roster at some point over the course of the next year as she can't hold the NXT Women's Championship forever Once she drops that belt—which could come as soon as NXT New Year's Evil when she faces Iron Survivor Challenge winner Giulia—there will be nowhere for Perez to go but up to the main roster She'll have already accomplished everything worthwhile in NXT and it will only hinder her career for her to stick around Perez earned that Prodigy nickname because she came into the company already a better wrestler than most of the roster part of Booker T's Reality of Wrestling since 18 her only options are to stay champion and keep repeating what she's done all through 2024 which will become more and more monotonous or to fall down the card and just be a supporting act allows her an opportunity to progress her way toward the Women's United States or Women's Intercontinental Championship so she doesn't get pushed too far and can continue to grow while working with veterans she can truly learn from instead of rookies she's helping teach to get to her level In a move that you could easily connect to Drew McIntyre another NXT call-up that we could see is that of Gallus’ Joe Coffey Gallus have been in the WWE system for years now and they’re always talked about as potential main roster call-up candidates One potential opening to bring them up would be as members of a group led by Drew McIntyre based on their shared Scottish backgrounds They’re clearly well trusted as they helped train The Rock for his WrestleMania 40 return so a call-up does seem like just a matter of timing and planning and this extra hour could be the opening for it image: Domestic chickens were analyzed in different scenarios which evoked varied emotions and found to display facial redness (blushing) and facial feather fluffing relaxed birds showed preening behaviors and facial feather fluffing CC-BY 4.0 (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/) Hens fluff their head feathers and blush to express different emotions and levels of excitement in the open-access journal PLOS ONE by Cécile Arnould and colleagues from INRAE and CNRS Facial expressions are an important part of human communication that allow us to convey our emotions Scientists have found similar signals of emotion in other mammals such as dogs Although birds can produce facial expressions by moving their head feathers and flushing their skin it is unclear whether they express emotions in this way researchers filmed 18 female domestic chickens (Gallus gallus domesticus) from two breeds as they performed routine behaviors on a French farm They also filmed the birds while being captured and held by a human and while being rewarded with an appealing food The researchers analyzed the position of their facial feathers and the color of the exposed skin on their faces in seven contexts that differed in their emotional valence and level of excitement birds preen their feathers when they are relaxed and content whereas receiving a rewarding food generally causes excitement and happiness and being captured is an exciting but fearful experience The results suggested that the position of the head feathers and the color of the skin varied between contexts Fluffed head feathers were mainly associated with a state of contentment whereas blushing indicated that the birds were positively excited or fearful Hens tended to have redder skin in contexts associated with excitement and in those that caused negative emotions In situations that caused both excitement and a positive emotion the birds displayed an intermediate skin redness indicating a continuum of blushing that can convey subtle emotional changes The study was the first to investigate facial displays of emotion in chickens and suggests that domestic hens use facial expressions to show their emotions These findings offer a window into the emotional experiences of domestic birds which could be used to improve the welfare of farmed poultry The authors add: “The skin blushing on the face of the domestic fowl is a window into their emotions The intensity of the blushing varies within a few seconds depending on the emotional situations they experience.” In your coverage please use this URL to provide access to the freely The global chicken population reached over 33 billion In the U.S., there are around 85 million backyard chickens making the bird the third most popular pet in the nation While we all know the tale of the chicken who crossed the road did you know that it could have flown instead Here's what to know about chickens and flight: Yes, chickens can fly but not for long distances. Unlike other birds, chickens are not bred to fly. Most domesticated chickens are bred for food, not flight Domesticated chickens descend from red junglefowl of southeast Asia These birds are only capable of short flights and lift-offs from trees Coupled with the fact that chickens are primarily bred for consumption, it makes sense chickens don't fly far. Modern breeding of chickens is selective toward "fat thighs and large breast muscles," BBC Wildlife Magazine reports The world record for the longest chicken flight is 13 seconds with a distance of over 300 feet The lifespan of a chicken varies. The average lifespan of a hen is between six and eight years, according to the University of Wisconsin-Madison. During three to four of those years The oldest living chicken is Peanut from Michigan who was born in 2002 and is around 22 years old There are some foods, however, that are off-limits and should be avoided for chickens Titled Cool To Drive, the upcoming EP from the Glasgow-based indie punk band is the follow-up to 2023’s We Don’t Like The People We’ve Become and is scheduled to be released in April this year and mastered by Blair Crichton of DEAD PONY “We’re leaning much further into the punk end of the spectrum and it feels very natural to us,” comments guitarist Eamon Ewins “The energy in our live performances has always been there The lyrics are also written from the first-person perspective of semi-fictional characters That decision was never conscious but plays to Barry‘s strengths as a former actor The character-driven nature of it makes the EP almost feel like a mini-series.” Alongside the announcement of the new EP, GALLUS have released a new music video for a new song lifted from the upcoming EP; Just Desserts. The new song is the second single to be released from the upcoming EP, following on from Depressed Beyond Tablets which was released back in December last year “the title is taken from a fictitious band Eamon used to tweet about giving updates about the various reasons they’ve had to pull out of all-day festivals and zine launch parties etc; a kind of aspirational pretentious post-punk band whose failings were usually caused by their highly middle-class problems we wanted to highlight the tediousness of the music industry as one becomes ‘neck deep in their twenties.’ We believe today’s concept of ‘new sleaze for the 20s’ will face trial like the indie-sleaze era of the early 2000s; it’s a perpetual cycle and no one asked for more.’ We wanted to distil all the most unlikable elements of the bands we’ve encountered and ourselves into Just Desserts to poke fun at the whole game.” Watch the official music video for Just Desserts here: you can view both the track list and artwork for the upcoming new EP below: the band will embark on a short headlining European and UK tour in April this year Tickets for the tour are available now and can be purchased here Cool To Drive is set for release on April 11th via Marshall Records. The new song, titled Depressed Beyond Tablets, is the brand new single from the Glasgow-based indie punk band and follows on from their previous single, Wash Your Wounds The new single was produced and engineered by DEAD PONY‘s Blair Crichton “Depressed Beyond Tablets came from a line Eamon and I found funny in Brass Eye,” jokes vocalist Barry Dolan “We were inspired to explore the feeling of finding yourself beyond the tolerable limits of the world and not having anything within your control It’s almost like realising there’s no point in trying to right the wrongs in your life with medicine or self-help and wanting to experience actual change – treating the cause “The song was written whilst we were on tour with THERAPY?,” guitarist Eamon Ewins adds “Gian heard me playing around with the intro riff at sound check in Cardiff so we took a quick recording of it and booked a studio in Birmingham We had studio time booked with Blair to record a different song the next day and we thrashed it out right there.” the Jews of Lod and the Galilee arose against Rome The Gallus Revolt didn't go any better than the previous rebellions had 2024Get email notification for articles from frightened Jew 1,650 years ago the time of the little-known Gallus Revolt as opposed to being hidden by someone else Ordinarily, if one is an archaeologist and finds valuables beneath the floor of an ancient building, especially a "public" one serving some sort of administration purpose – one assumes it to be a foundational deposit That was indeed the archaeologists' first thought in this case excavation co-director Mor Viezel of the IAA tells Haaretz by phone The ancient Egyptians and Sudanese would go to town and line holes dug for foundational deposits with mud bricks Such deposits would typically be in one or more corners of the building adding that finding 94 coins as a foundational deposit wouldn't be that extraordinary Deposits have been found containing hundreds or even thousands of coins Open gallery viewFourth century building probably associated with the ancient Jewish community of Late Roman Lod.Credit: Asaf Peretz/Israel Antiquities AuthorityBut in this case the coins were found scattered under the floor in roughly the middle of the room She adds that they had probably been in a bag that has since decayed the building has been identified as a building used by Jews in Diospolis (named for Zeus) – the Roman name for Lod Not all the floor tiles survived the wrath of the Romans of which ample evidence was found in the building – they wrecked it with enthusiasm Some did survive and it was beneath these that the coins Why didn't the Romans find the coins first If one is a monumentally peeved soldier in a crumbling empire that is fighting tooth and nail to preserve or Byzantine days Some builders throughout this region superstitiously toss some coins into the cement and mumble about good luck to this very day Anyway foundational deposits were still a custom in the 4th century Then we realized they were a deposit not from the building's foundation "We surmise that it was an emergency hoard of money that somebody buried because the rebellion began." but the Christians were not participants in this revolt the soldiers likely wouldn't have arrived yet "People felt bad things were going down and hastened to collect their money and bury it in order to get it later," she sums up Open gallery viewLod Mayor Yair Revivo visits the site in 2022.Credit: Yuli Schwartz/Israel Antiquities AuthorityIt can be said that the Roman Empire as the ancient world had known it was changing This process may have exacerbated local tensions According to the ancient non-Jewish historians the Gallus Revolt was a piddling local affair of no great interest and was crushed by General Ursicinus the evidence unearthed in Lod shows the Roman reaction was violent and cruel In Lod we find Christians continued to exist in the city supporting the theory that they didn't participate in the revolt," which was centered in the Galilee She adds that this is the first time marks of the Gallus Revolt have been found in central Israel "It is difficult to determine if this magnificent building served as synagogue But what is clear is that the building's size fit well Lod/Diospolis' description in both Jewish and non-Jewish sources as a center of Torah-true Jewish life in the Mishna and Talmud periods," stated Joshua Schwartz Note that the Roman destruction of Lod didn't end that city's story. It has been inhabited from the dawn of civilization as we know it in the Neolithic times, and is still inhabited to this very day Having hosted a number of live events in London and, more recently, Brighton, last week SON Estrella Galicia returned with their first ever multiple-night affair. Dubbed ‘Soundhood Hackney’, the self-styled micro-festival took place over two days and two venues returning to Paper Dress Vintage on Thursday 13th June before Hackney’s Two Palms hosted Friday’s installment where we were in for a night of raucous rabble rousing and unrestrained energy the first of which features a gloriously sludgy riff Next to take to the stage, Gallus are riled up With three of the band wearing Scotland shirts it’s hard to tell whether this energy is down to the Glaswegians’ stage time clashing with the national team’s Euro 2024 debut match or the unfortunate score itself; the band’s already fiery set steps up a further punk notch when frontman Barry Dolan spots a mobile phone notification alerting him to the then-4-0 scoreline Theirs is a set of two halves: channelling frenetic ‘70s pub rock in the first (think London rabble-rousers Chubby and the Gang or Aussie noiseniks Amyl and the Sniffers); then save for a nod to Adele’s ‘Hello’ performed on the venue’s bar itself a second that leans more towards dance-punk albeit still with pints flying and a brief crowdsurf Headliners DITZ clearly prefer to be the calm within the storm of their own creation There’s a steadiness to vocalist Cal Francis’ presence as if nonchalantly flicking a lit match backward into a crowd doused in petrol They’re barely on the stage itself: instead they meander around the mosh fuelled by the band’s clanging menacing post-punk; Too Gallus were behind this year’s self-assured campaign for menswear brand Slaters and a sophisticated set of animations for cosmetics brand Isle of Paradise “Our work for La Rue Verte has been particularly gratifying It's been an entirely integrated project that we built from the ground up and as our first luxury client we had the opportunity to pull out all of the stops It was our chance to flex on everything from naming illustration and a full Shopify ecommerce build Our client has put so much trust in us and we’ve built up such an amazing relationship it's become a really fulfilling project to work on.” The laser-focused agency are now developing new technologically driven services to offer in-house with a focus on interactive 3D websites “Everyone already knows how powerful 3D rendering can be when launching a product and for us the next logical step is bringing it online with interactive 3D websites allowing people to create AR / VR products and experiences on their e-commerce websites I think it's the future and I want to make sure we’re leading the charge on it.” Barrington Reeves is the founder of the Black Scottish Business Fund which has raised over £25,000 to support and encourage Black owned businesses He spoke to the Scottish Parliament in June about the need for British colonialism and the transatlantic slave trade to be part of the Scottish educational curriculum You can read his recent interview with Anahit Behrooz here where he discusses what it means to be a Black creative in 2020 toogallus.com About | Privacy Policy | Advertising| Editorial | Contact Us Subscribe | Login “Professor Jana Gallus is superhuman and an inspiration to our MBA students She’s brought innovation to teaching the core strategy class to glowing reviews but this past year she created a Capstone class for 15 students over the fall and winter terms where she introduced MBA students to her passion for field experiments in a class entitled “The Nuts and Bolts of A/B Testing.” This class combines many of the skills students have acquired in their MBA education to implement rigorous experimental tests to help improve field partner organizations Professor Gallus works incredibly closely with each team of 5 at every project stage—this is the perfect melding of academic expertise with testing hypotheses in the real world I was fortunate to see each of her groups present and it was a transformational experience the students will carry with them.” – Sanford DeVoe is an Associate Professor at UCLA’s Anderson School of Management She studies incentives and organizational design with a special focus on nonfinancial incentives and their role in the knowledge economy Her collaboration partners include organizations such as NASA Gallus a joined UCLA from Harvard and received her PhD in Economics (summa cum laude) from the University of Zurich She was a Fellow of the German National Merit Foundation and has received several research grants She was named most promising economist by DIE ZEIT I knew I wanted to be a business school professor when… I was a doctoral student in Europe and learned that this would allow me to be an academic and stay in close touch with people doing exciting work in the field What are you currently researching and what is the most significant discovery you’ve made from it I have found strong and lasting motivational effects of purely symbolic social recognition which homo economicus should not respond to But we have also documented important and unforeseen backfiring effects of similar non-monetary incentives This has led me to focus on researching the intersection of incentives and the social organizational context in which they are used How should incentives be designed and adapted to the social context in which they are used How does the social context shape which incentives get used If I weren’t a business school professor… I would have tried to get on track for becoming an ambassador That was my dream job in high school and for much of my time in college What do you think makes you stand out as a professor A common theme in my student evaluations is “infectious enthusiasm” about what I teach One word that describes my first time teaching: Blast (I still remember this as if it was yesterday and have been in touch with some of my amazing students from back then.) Here’s what I wish someone would’ve told me about being a business school professor: Your colleagues are going to be among the ‘funnest’ people you know (besides being brilliant) Professor I most admire and why: Too many to name What do you enjoy most about teaching business students That they bring their own perspective and experience into the room describe your favorite type of student: Curious describe your least favorite type of student: Indifferent I think students would describe me as… Fair Running – marathons; I also founded a little initiative: RunTheWorld (some of my students are a part of it; we welcome everyone) I’ll take my kids to Colombia and work from there Favorite place(s) to vacation: Wherever I have not yet been (These days I mostly listen to them on my runs; that gets me through a lot of books.) What is currently your favorite movie and/or show and what is it about the film or program that you enjoy so much Your readers with kids will know what I’m talking about a show at the Griffith Observatory that made me want to switch to physics What is your favorite type of music or artist(s) and why I have lots of artists and types of music that I like I chose Peter Fox because it is funny-clever music that makes you want to dance And because I suspect he won’t yet be on your readers’ radar companies and organizations today need to do a better job at… Thinking through and auditing their use of incentives especially non-monetary ones that are harder to track I’m grateful for… My students’ enthusiasm and willingness to bear my jokes (go Bruins) This year my daughter made my day when she asked whether I could also become my kids’ teacher DON’T MISS: THE ENTIRE 2024 ROSTER OF THE WORLD’S BEST 40-UNDER-40 MBA PROFESSORS Our Partner Sites: Poets&Quants for Execs | Poets&Quants for Undergrads | Tipping the Scales | We See Genius Website Design By: Yellowfarmstudios.com A WWE NXT faction has teased a departure after another big loss and leaving fans wondering what is next for the group Taking to social media to share a snap of the trio after their most recent loss on NXT it seemed that the faction was teasing a farewell With Joe Coffey shared a dejected looking photo of Gallus Wolfgang re-shared the photo along with his own caption Fans have been speculating since this past week’s episode of WWE NXT if perhaps Gallus (Joe Coffey Mark Coffey and Wolfgang) may now be main roster bound The duo of Mark Coffey and Wolfgang had a shot at the NXT Tag Team Championship on NXT this week (December 17) against Nathan Frazer and Axiom Ahead of the upcoming WWE Raw debut on Netflix WWE has announced the ‘transfer window’ by which talent is able to be switched between brands by their respective general managers You can keep up with all the latest news from around NXT at this link.
