Like quarried out of a block of red sandstone
the monolithic structure of the new fire station is positioned parallel to the B9 expressway
The building asserts itself independently and at the same time interacts with the surrounding streets
According to the motto - show what you do - the fire brigade occupies the functional and flexible plateau with its daily operations
The cube is harmoniously embedded in its new location with optimal traffic connections and fulfills its significance as the prelude and southern entrance to the city of Germersheim
The architectural design of the cube gives the new building an identity and meets the requirements of a future-oriented building. The design concept responds to the growing tasks of the Germersheim volunteer fire brigade as well as the increased functional requirements for a modern fire station that is prepared for the further development of the range of tasks, the technology, and the vehicle equipment.

The terrace assigned to the training rooms offers an attractive retreat for the emergency services and training participants at the same time
reddish-colored concrete elements structure the building and carry its inner structure to the outside
concrete as a timeless and durable material with its robustness stands for the functional use of the fire brigade
The monolithic insulating concrete embodies this functionality
which is reflected in the compactness and clarity of the building

In cooperation with our global logistics network
we ensure the prompt availability of spare parts anywhere in the world
With commissioning of the new warehouse complex we are creating additional
dynamic storage area and preparing our Germersheim site for the future.”

The Mercedes-Benz Global Logistics Center in Germersheim
is celebrating its 30th Anniversary with a new state-of the-art warehouse complex
The after-sales location began operations in 1990 as a Daimler-Benz AG's central warehouse for spare parts supply
The commissioning of the new warehouse complex with its latest storage and materials handling technology ensures that the site remains technologically state-of-the-art
As the competence center for global parts logistics within the Daimler AG After-Sales supply chain network, the site supplies partners with parts and accessories for commercial vehicles and passenger cars under the Mercedes Benz, smart and FUSO brands in more than 150 countries.
At its opening in July 1990, the Global Logistics Center was one of the largest and most modern distribution centers for vehicle parts in the automotive industry. Since then, the central warehouse has been extended and modernized several times. The commissioning of the new warehouse complex, with its state-of-the-art storage and materials handling technology, marks another milestone in the continuing development of the site.
"By opening the new high-bay storage facility, we are continuing the tradition here at the Global Logistics Center Germersheim of setting the standard in the automotive After-Sales industry with the latest automation technology for vehicle parts logistics. In doing so we have set the next milestone in the technical and digital transformation of our location," says Ingo M. Flachs Nóbrega, Head of Steering & Design, Global Parts Supply Chain Network.
The site supplies the group's wholesale level in Europe and overseas. On average, more than 40,000 consignment note items leave the Global Logistics Center every day. Deliveries are shipped by road, ship, rail or air and even by express delivery service in case of an emergency. Besides supplying parts for the current vehicle range, the Global Logistics Center also serves the company's classic vehicles: replacement parts remain available long after a model series has been discontinued.
The Global Logistics Center employs around 3,100 people. The rapid supply of service outlets all over the world is ensured by the 40 affiliated wholesale locations – including five German logistics centres in Hanover, Cologne, Nuremberg, Mainz and Reutlingen – with a range specifically put together to reflect each respective market.

Freyer GmbH is a family business in the 4th generation and has been carrying out port handling operations and the storage and transport of bulk and general cargo since the port of Rheinhafen Germersheim was founded
The company has now invested in a 355 E for various all-round work and transport around the port site..
SENNEBOGEN 355 E completes the fleet at Freyer
Freyer GmbH already had a broad machine portfolio for its cargo handling of up to 500,000 t per year: Material handlers
wheel loaders and forklift trucks work on the port site every day
the company still needed an all-rounder that could be used for various tasks at different locations
With the 355 E telehandler from SENNEBOGEN
Peter Freyer has found the missing piece of the puzzle for his fleet
The machine is primarily available to the boss
“The 355 E is my vehicle that I drive through the site every day
This allows me to protect my car and carry out smaller jobs at the same time.” Since Freyer GmbH frequently works with scrap and pig iron
the telehandler was equipped with puncture-resistant
airless tires to prevent damage when driving through the port area
The SENNEBOGEN 355 E also has a quick-changer with which Peter Freyer can quickly and easily replace his existing equipment from the driver’s cab at the push of a button
Powerful telehandler with unique features: Freyer appreciates the elevating cab
To make loading ships for the rope cranes as easy as possible
Peter Freyer stacks the scrap material to high piles on the quay
The 355 E from SENNEBOGEN combines the advantages of a telehandler and wheel loader and is therefore ideal for this task: Thanks to the robust steel construction of the telescopic arm with a lifting height of 8.5 m
the ideal transfer of power to the shovel using the Z kinematics and the powerful drive train with infinitely variable travel drive
this type of work can be carried out easily
the telehandler’s load capacity is significantly higher than that of other machines in this weight class
and with a turning circle of less than 4.5 meters
the 355 E from SENNEBOGEN’s is also ideally suited to work in confined spaces
the telehandler does not compromise on safety either: Thanks to the elevating cab to 4.25 m and the 360° all-round view thanks to large glass surfaces
Peter Freyer has a very good view of all four sides of the machine and his working environment at all times
“The elevating cab gives me a very good overview
Particularly if I have to work on the right side
I can align the cab so that I always have a clear view
It’s simply a pleasant and safe way of working.”
