Andrej Gronau Fall Winter 2025 collection presented at Berlin Fashion Week
the designer shifts the focus toward objects that may seem insignificant yet hold deep personal meaning
examining how sentiment transforms the worth of everyday things
The collection takes cues from the intimate world of collected objects
or seemingly purposeless items that fill homes with history and personality
From wrinkled metallics that reshape into ornamented jackets to delicate knits resembling paper ribbons
the collection reinterprets nostalgia into a playful yet refined wardrobe
The collection proposes that value is not defined by purpose but by the emotions objects evoke
Faded textures sit beside polished surfaces
mirroring the unpredictable nature of personal collections
Oversized collars take inspiration from antique figurines
adding a dramatic touch to structured tailoring
furry textures evoke childhood memories of stuffed toys
while star-shaped cutouts reference the tactile
The contrast between voluminous silhouettes
utilitarian tailoring results in a balance of whimsy and structure
By incorporating the aged beauty of vintage decor
the collection presents a vision where clothing becomes a vessel for nostalgia
these pieces highlight emotional resonance
encouraging the wearer to see garments as extensions of memory and self-expression
asking wearers to reconnect with the childlike wonder of seeing objects for what they are
Andrej Gronau bridges the sentimental and the avant-garde
crafting pieces that feel both familiar and unexpected
Accompanying the collection is an original soundtrack composed by music artist and producer Rui Ho
created specifically to reflect the theme of sentimental beauty and nostalgia
This soundscape amplifies the collection’s vision
enhancing the sense of stepping into a world where personal artifacts and memories take center stage
Fragrance also plays a role in the presentation
a German perfume house established in 1856
provides a scent that evokes childhood memories of dressing up in parental clothing
This sensory layer reinforces the collection’s exploration of how fashion
and sound interact to shape identity and memory
Fall Winter 2025 embraces the imperfections and eccentricities of cherished objects
Each piece encourages reflection on why we hold onto certain things

This FW25 collection represents a pivotal moment to our work. What remains at the core is our methodology to create clothing that is engineered to transform how women feel and therefore how they look. With this runway collection we go back to our roots and explore artisanal crafting methods
being manufactured and linked solely with latex as our functional ornament
we transform everyday garments to unique and irrationalshowpieces
escaping into a better world. We present a series of clothing attitudes that are based on the transformation of a utilitarian wardrobe into contemporary lavish adornment
The notion of sophistication and the framework that makes a garment are cut into layers and toyed with
introducing an intelligent twist on what it means to be confident and sexy today. These layers are translated and redrawn with our latex lace to become something seen as well as unseen before
It is a reimagining of clothing from today’s point of view

“In serious times—and we are living in very serious
even terrifying times—fashion can seem frivolous
How can creativity survive under such conditions
How can we find purpose in our work as fashion designers?Often
research for a collection starts with finding inspiration through external sources
We began listening to music from previous shows
all while revisiting some of our favourite past GmbH looks
but to find comfort in past ideas—from a time when the world might have seemed less threatening—and as an attempt to find one’s centre in destabilising times.A clarity
and by working slowly and more carefully.A hermetic exercise to drown out all the noise
influence and opinions of others.Focusing instead on one’s own codes
one’s own heritage.(And realising in the process that many of these clothes were never shown in a physical show or truly seen before.)So
our response to the initial question could only be serious
But what are serious clothes?Clothes of mourning? For the second time showing in our hometown of Berlin
we also returned to the poetry ofNorwegian modernist poet Gunvor Hofmo
Her introspective poetry often reflects themes rooted in personal grief and existential despair.Loss
and melancholy—shaped by the shadows of war—feature heavily in her work. Her poem ‘From Another Reality’
so clearly cementswhy she has been called ‘the singer of darkness.’ The poem suggests we live in parallel worlds: we see the same things
and yet we do not perceive them the same. While mourning might be part of it
and how these qualities can be expressed through tailoring and craft
We thought of our fathers intheir suits—Benjamin’s father still never leaves the house without one
Finding one’s own worth when society looks down on you.Craft
is something deeply human—using one’s hands in cutting a pattern or shap-ing fabrics
That’s why we decided to stage theshow in a set of draped muslin
The humble material will be fully repurposed in our atelier for toiles after the show.” – Benjamin Huseby and Serhat Isik
LUEDER
“The Shell,” presented itself with a dramatic and dystopian feel
inspired by themes of friendly stalking and voyeurism
as well as the experience of getting lost in fantasy and dreams
narratives of coming of age and coming to life were present
which is why the designer felt drawn to tapestry
and carpet prints from the 19th century—an era when upper-class wives dressed in and camouflaged themselves with the prints in their homes
Lueder introduced sustainable fake fur to enhance the camp aesthetic or evoke a sense of a “new metrosexual feeling.” Elsewhere
the collection featured embossed tartan prints made of lycra
and skinny jeans that can be transformed into flared pants
and future is best represented in the special rose print
which references a handkerchief a princess from the past might have used to dry her tears
The brand incorporated the contemporary emoji rose—an emblem of the present—and the spiral
ANDREJ GRONAU The enchantment of beautiful
seemingly purposeless objects challenges conventional notions of worth
or quirky decor—serve as powerful expressions of self. From some might neglected
Andrej Gronau invites you to take a second glance
the FW25 collection delves into the intimate world of collected treasures—those objects we gather and cherish in our domestic spaces
Wrinkled metallics transform into ornamented jackets
and intricate patterns echo the nostalgic charm of vintage decor
What once seemed childlike and curious now emerges asan evening wardrobe fi lled with playful sophistication. In the realm of the FW25 collection
this wardrobe invites introspection while textures and colors—faded and bright
painting a vivid portrait of the wonder we once held inchildhood—seeing objects simply for their being and beauty.Oversized collars
blend Victorian drama with contemporary aesthetics
Furry textures recalling stuffed toys highlight the nostalgic richness of cherished objects
while star-shaped cut-outs draw from the playful
voluminous shapes likepuffy sleeves and fl ared dresses are counterbalanced by clean
utilitarian tailoring.By juxtaposing faded and shiny
this collection celebrates the beauty of imperfection
inviting introspection about the sentimental worth of objects and rummage as vessels of memory and self-expression.The glitter of rhinestones
the delicate shine of tinsel or fake pearls evoke a visual nostalgia unburdened by fi nancial value
as their allure lies not in their utility but in their ability to evoke an immediate
emotional response—reminding us that beauty is not bound by purpose or value

Borsig ZM Compression GmbH (Borsig) has completed the factory run test of the first of three Bx36 series reciprocating compressors for the RWE Gas Storage West GmbH (RGSW) hydrogen cavern storage project in Gronau-Epe
Each compressor is rated 3753 hp (2800 kW) and offers a control range that allows for the initial filling and all future operational scenarios of the storage facility
The hydrogen cavern storage facility in Gronau-Epe will be the first commercially operated underground hydrogen storage in Germany
providing a usable storage capacity of around 1.3 Bcf (38 x 106 m3)
The site in Gronau-Epe is an ideal hydrogen storage location due to its proximity to the planned long-distance hydrogen pipeline between Lingen and the Ruhr area and its optimal geological conditions for natural as well as hydrogen storage
RGSW is expanding the existing above-ground facility at Kottiger Hook to include additional hydrogen injection and withdrawal sections as well as the ancillary facilities required for operation
RGSW plans to repurpose a cavern currently used to store natural gas and fill it with hydrogen
RGSW is constructing a pipeline system to connect the cavern with the above-ground facilities

2024Comments Off on Columbia HS track standout Mae Dowling eclipses 1,600m school mark set by current Maplewood Middle School principal and CHS alum Dara Crocker Gronau
NJ — Call it a meeting of two women’s history makers
Just days after Columbia High School girls track runner Mae Dowling broke the school record for running the 1,600-meter race
she met the woman who set the previous record 26 years ago
Dowling didn’t have to travel very far – just a quick trip back to Maplewood Middle School
Gronau was a Columbia High School senior when she posted a time of 5 minutes
“I was surprised the record was still around,” said Gronau
“I was very proud and emotional that a student I know broke it
I just kept hugging her and telling her how proud I was of her.”
The significance of Dowling’s achievement is bigger than her connection with the previous record holder
The Columbia girls track program has launched many runners into greatness
including four-time Olympian Joetta Clark Diggs and her sister
“When you think of how many people have come through the program
it’s a big deal to get a record,” Gronau said
a senior who started running track last year
said she wasn’t out to break any records on Sunday
when she competed in the New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association’s Meet of Champions on Staten Island
Maybe she could beat her own personal best for the event
I didn’t know if I was going to do well or if I was tired,” Dowling said
a race that is about 9 meters short of a mile
is Dowling’s best event and has been the focus of her training
The race was indoors at the Ocean Breeze Athletic Complex
high-ceilinged facility with a 200-meter oval track – half the size of the track at the Underhill Sports Complex
It would take twice as many laps to cover the distance
Dowling started in the back of the 12-runner heat in 10th place
She wasn’t unconscious – more like she was so hyper-focused on running she lost awareness of some of the race’s details
“And I’m running way faster than I normally do
She had an internal conversation with herself
Dowling – still thinking she may have skipped a lap or two – accelerated and moved up in the field
“I was passing as many girls as I could.” Dowling finished second in a race that she was expected to finish eighth
Still in the surreal state of mind from the race
came up to Dowling and gave her a high-five as he told her she had broken the school record
“When Mae started her first season of track
but the inexperience mixed with new pressure held her back from her optimal time goals,” Simon said
she keeps getting faster and finding what works for her
All of that culminated in her greatest race to date
a sixth-grader mentioned Dowling’s record-breaking run to Gronau
An email from Simon confirmed the news later
“It makes sense to me that she’s a distance runner,” Gronau said

Iowa superintendents, education workers and parents spoke to House lawmakers about their plan to restructure Area Education Agencies
flocking to the Capitol for a public hearing Wednesday evening on one of the legislative session's most contentious issues
The Republican-led House File 2612 would allow schools to contract with private providers for media services and general education services
while retaining the AEAs as the sole provider of special education services
the state's nine AEAs are the sole provider of all of those services through contracts with schools
The House's proposal is a significant rewrite of Gov. Kim Reynolds' initial bill
while Senate Republicans advance their own version
More: What are AEAs and why is Iowa Gov. Kim Reynolds trying to overhaul the special ed agencies?
Iowans filled the committee room where the hearing took place
while a few others spilled into the hallway
several dozen people wearing shirts emblazoned with messages in support of AEAs watched the hearing on a television set up in an overflow room
Every so often the crowd burst into cheers in support of one of the pro-AEA speakers
a few children colored signs reading “We ❤ Iowa AEAs" and “Support AEAs
Because they treat people RIGHT!” while others watched the hearing on their phones
Among those who gave feedback on the plan Wednesday were several parents whose children require special education services and have interacted with Iowa's AEAs
whose five children have received services from the AEAs
told lawmakers that the plan would "exacerbate gaps" in services and between students and districts
And she lamented that early conversations on the issue had lacked proper input from parents and educators
"I feel like that aspect of this conversation was completely bowled over by an out-of-state agency writing up something about a system they don’t even understand
Reynolds just taking that and running with it,” Dillon said
said while she "appreciates the services" her son receives
she was alarmed by her son's "educational outcomes" in math and other subjects
"I'm concerned with how much emphasis is put on my son being put in the least restrictive environment," said Gronau
adding she believed changes were often made to the "system
rather than based on the individual needs of the students."
Iowa's AEAs received near-universal praise among the district superintendents who spoke Wednesday evening
as they acknowledged the work of the agencies' thousands of staffers and key services they provide
But they were divided on the plan to restructure the agencies
While those who support the bill argued the dollars were best spent on districts to find their own services
others who opposed it expressed concerns that smaller districts would suffer
the superintendent for the Woodward-Granger Community School District
said any restructuring plan that involves "rapid change" without proper input is "doomed to failure."
"When we rush change from the top in an effort to get rid of something we perceive we don't want
the likelihood of getting something worse increases," Lane said
More: Which Iowa bills are alive? AEA overhaul, defining 'man' and 'woman' survive 'funnel' week
He said he was worried whether services now provided by the AEA to students in his 1,000-enrollment district would remain intact and stable if the bill were to proceed
The head of College Community School District in Cedar Rapids
called his district's partnership with its AEA "gold standard" and urged lawmakers not to blame student achievement metrics on the agencies
But he said his district was not currently able to "access all of the services available based on our needs."
"I have a responsibility to our students and our families to engage fully in any conversation that might provide additional resources for students in an ever-changing educational landscape," Wheeler said
Several employees of Area Education Agencies spoke against the bill Wednesday, including Stacey Warren, a Heartland AEA social worker who was on site in Perry shortly after a school shooting last month
She pointed to the AEA's capability to roll out emergency response teams and substitute teachers — infrastructure that she was doubtful districts would be able to replicate locally
"Districts are not prepared and do not have the resources to handle these things alone," said Warren
were trained to address seemingly minor issues that impact families after traumatic events
'Did you remember to turn off attendance?' so that the students who died (don't) get their parents emailed to see if they're going to be there today?" Warren said
Other staffers who work at AEAs attended the hearing Wednesday
frustrated by the process advancing the bill and worrying of its impact if it becomes law
"I think the legislation is going to be really
really damaging to Iowa’s public education system for decades to come," said Teran Buettell
a school psychologist who works at Great Prairie AEA
"I think it’s going to create damage that will not easily be repaired even if they see the error of their ways and try to go back and rebuild it."
More: Iowa special ed advocates say new House plan for AEAs is better, but more changes needed
AEAs would remain the sole provider of special education services for K-12 schools
But schools could choose whether to continue contracting with AEAs for media services and general education services under a "fee for service" structure
or get those services from a private provider
The House proposal would continue sending all federal special education dollars directly to the AEAs
rather than to individual school districts
State aid and property tax dollars that currently go to the AEAs would go to school districts under the House bill
but districts would be required to continue using AEAs for special education services
The bill also creates a task force to make recommendations on AEA properties

Cloud woman is now paranoid and missing hundreds of dollars in cash after she was robbed
Holly Gronau left work on June 1 and drove to Chase Bank on 13th Street to withdraw money for rent
“I don’t want anyone to see that I have this money
Gronau then made a quick stop at Vape Depot not far from the bank
She parked her car right in front of the store windows
[TRENDING: Become a News 6 Insider]
Cloud police obtained surveillance footage from Vape Depot and street cameras
The video revealed a silver Chevy following her from Chase Bank to the Vape Shop
Police said that when Gronau arrived at the store
the suspect vehicle parked five spots away
“How bold can you be to do it in broad daylight?” Gronau said
She feels violated knowing that she was followed and is thankful she didn’t go straight home after leaving the bank
“It’s literally the scariest feeling I’ve ever felt in my life,” Gronau said
“In my head thinking if I would have pulled out even more money
That (could have) been his medication that I would not have been able to afford
I don’t know what I would’ve done,” she said
A locksmith made her a new set of car keys Thursday since her first set was stolen
On the door handle of the car is dust police used to find finger prints in hopes of identifying the suspect
“He didn’t just take rent money; he took a lot of confidence from me as a person,” Gronau said
She warns other Chase Bank members who frequent that location to be cautious
pay attention and don’t make the same mistakes she did
She fears this can happen to someone else if the suspect is not caught
Detectives were not able to identify the driver from the surveillance video or the finger prints

and you’re going to stay in Enschede for a while during the summer
then it might be a good idea to plan some small day trips
Not to say Enschede has nothing to offer – our city is quite lovely and quaint
but sometimes you just want to get out for the sake of getting out
With the summer comes the perfect time to leave Enschede for a little while to experience some more of what the region has to offer
a perfect city for a day trip from EnschedeMost trips within the Netherlands can be day trips if you plan them accordingly
so I could have listed every place in the Netherlands reachable by train from Enschede
from the station than just using the usual modes of public transport
especially for a day trip (at just € 4,55)
and you’ll never want any other public transport once you have a trusty bike by your side
Located a half-hour bike ride from Enschede
Gronau is a really close German town to the East of Enschede (perks of living super close to the border
Going to Gronau by bike is the definition of a day trip: you can take some really scenic routes and experience a great deal of nature on your bike
there’s a nice free zoo you can visit for an hour or two (with wallabies/kangaroos!)
and there’s comparatively cheaper food available
I recently went and visited some of the parks
and of course ate some nice food at the end (a little Asian restaurant called Asia Haus
really good food) all in the span of around 5 hours
If you’re planning on going here to check out some of Germany
While you could technically cycle the 20 kilometers from Enschede
I’d really just take the train if I were you
Bad Bentheim is a small town near the border
and you can take a train from either Enschede or Hengelo if you live closer
A must see in Bad Bentheim is its famous castle
as well as the town’s various churches and gothic architecture
then Bad Bentheim’s the ideal day trip to make
You could also make this trip if you’re already in Gronau and want to bike a bit further ;)
though this time I would implore you to take the train (unless you really want to bike
with a bustling population and a university
There’s lots to do here: from gazing at architecture and exploring the city
to experiencing Münster’s night life – if there’s one thing I’m sure of
You could take a stroll along the Prinzipalmarkt and ogle at the gabled buildings
Lambert’s Church a bit further along and view the inside
and finally wander about the Rathaus (town hall)
I would recommend stopping by the rooftop cafe
for a little break between exploring the city – aside from some nice coffee
the cafe offers a gorgeous panoramic view of the historic city
If you get the chance to visit the city during Christmas time
then the Münster Christmas Markets are a must visit
so you can’t go wrong with any of them – one of the advantages of living in a small yet well-connected country
Deventer is around an hour away from Enschede
so enough to sightsee and be back in time for dinner
One of the oldest cities in the Netherlands
and some of the coziest shops I’ve ever been in
Deventer is apparently famous for its cookies
which I’m ashamed to say have not yet tried
Deventer also hosts the Deventer Bookmarket (usually on the first Sunday of August)
which is fitting for a city so historically important for its printing businesses
If you want to change things up a little and get away from Enschede for just a little bit
About half an hour away from Deventer is Zwolle
the transport hub of the Eastern Netherlands – you’re well connected to just about every major city if you find yourself in Station Zwolle
you can rent a boat and sightsee the city from its canals and check out the inner city right after
There’s a great bookstore called Van der Velde
which is located in a church and also serves as a cafe
Zwolle is well-known for its restaurants – why not treat yourself and have a picturesque dinner by the city center
where you can also gaze at the magnificent Grote Kerk
From museums and architecture-marvelling to shopping
Zwolle is always a place I look forward to visiting
Het Rutbeek is a lake in the South of Enschede
but it’s far enough from the city that you can officially call it a day trip if you decide to go there
and not by taxi (you know exactly who you are)
and you’ll be treated by a really nice route filled with greenery and nature
you can do your typical lake activities: go for a swim
and have a nice big barbecue with your friends
so grab your friends and drag them to Het Rutbeek
Grab the opportunity for a trip now while the school year is over
Hopefully you have a great day in any location you choose for a day trip

were in the house the afternoon the tornado hit
and their house fared better than one that was demolished across the street

Since 1985, The Bridge Home has provided shelter for displaced Ames residents
That impact will be felt on an even broader scale by constructing an 18-unit apartment building
Officials from The Bridge Home and the Iowa Finance Authority gathered Wednesday for a ceremonial groundbreaking on the $5.5 million project under construction at 207 S
Construction of the new housing units was largely possible due to a $4.16 million National Housing Trust Fund Grant from the Iowa Finance Authority
“We are incredibly excited about what the future has in store for The Bridge Home,” Jodi Stumbo
“Demand for shelter has tripled over the last few years
so we can’t wait to serve more people and make an even greater impact in our community.”
The Bridge Home provides shelter and programs for people needing a home
The organization strives to help individuals and families regain independence by providing support in various ways
including immediate assistance and long-term
The Bridge Home has served more than 3,740 people
provided 13,900 nights of shelter and had more than 20,000 requests for assistance
More: Habitat for Humanity builds homes at former Ames Middle School location
will bridge the gap between the displaced and a lack of housing
on the block's west side behind Dollar Tree
the building is intended for “family supportive housing,” meaning that at least one person in the family has physical or mental disabilities
that person does not have to receive government disability benefits to qualify
units will provide shelter for individuals
single-parent families and two-parent families
Tenants will pay 30% of their income for rent
The project is not officially designated as low-income housing because tenants must be unhoused to qualify
“It is one more step in helping get more affordable apartments for folks that are struggling,” Gronau said
Tenants will receive support to help their successProject Hope and A Home will help people in need find critical housing in Ames
It will provide essential supportive services such as mental health assistance
employment resources and community services
“Tenants will have a caseworker to help them navigate things and can connect them with agencies that can help,” Gronau said
“So it would depend on what their journey is
and that caseworker is helping put all the pieces together.”
Providing stable housing first has been proven to save lives
provide shelter to chronically homeless individuals and reduce the number of calls and stress on local community services
“The individuals who will be assisted by these projects are individuals who habitually cycle through emergency rooms, criminal justice systems and emergency shelters,” Durham said in 2022 in a news release announcing the grant and others like it
it costs a community nearly $40,000 for each unhoused individual
it only costs $10,000 a year for that individual,” she said
The new 18 units will not be intended for long-term use
These are more efficiency style apartments — they’re not fancy,” Gronau said
“It’s not meant to be a permanent home per se
because we want them to feel comfortable enough to go out and integrate into the community
The units are enough to get you stable for the moment
and then you can go on and find something that you really want to live in.”

RWE Gas Storage West is contributing towards ramping up the European hydrogen economy as part of the GET H2 initiative
a new section for hydrogen is to be constructed at the natural gas cavern storage facilities at Kottiger Hook by 2026
Most of Germany's first commercial hydrogen cavern storage facility is to be built on the existing RWE site
RWE submitted the required planning notice to the district government in Arnsberg
Part of the general operating planning procedure under German mining law will be a voluntary environmental impact assessment with the participation of authorities
RWE has applied for funding under the IPCEI (Important Projects of Common European Interest) in the hydrogen sector scheme
IPCEI hydrogen is intended to drive the energy transition and in particular decarbonisation forward across Europe by developing technologies for utilising green hydrogen at an industrial scale
The German Federal Ministry of Economic Affairs and Climate Action and the state government of North Rhine-Westphalia have already selected projects that will receive national funding if the initiative is given the green light at the European level; RWE’s hydrogen storage facility is on that list
RWE is waiting with its final investment decision until funding commitment is confirmed
RWE has now initiated the approval process in accordance with its project plan. A decision on funding is expected later this year.
