Saxony's State Secretary Thomas Kralinski visited the production facility of Rheinmetall subsidiary Pierburg Pump Technology Ltd at its site in Hartha (Mittelsachsen district)
Rheinmetall is planning to invest around €31m in this site to ensure production in the industrial sector even in times of transformation in the automotive industry towards modern
sustainable drive forms and “beyond automotive”
the State Secretary presented the company representatives with a funding notification totalling €7.66m
The funds are from the federal-state programme Joint Task for the Improvement of Regional Economic Structures (ger
Gemeinschaftsaufgabe Verbesserung der regionalen Wirtschaftsstruktur GRW)
that a new production hall was completed at the site for the production of innovative DC link capacitors
which are superior to standard market technologies thanks to their electrical properties and temperature stability
At the heart of these innovative capacitors are nano-layer units made of plastic and aluminium
which are to be manufactured on site in the future
This involves the development of brand new technologies
as the special high-vacuum chemical process and a product with a layer density of one thousandth of a millimetre constitute uncharted territory
It also requires close dialogue with other sites
experts from the joint venture partner PolyCharge in the USA and machine manufacturers
Once the current process for sample production has been completed this production line will be a ticket to the site's future
This is due to the capacitor’s capability of introducing an entirely new era in the electrification of the automotive and industrial markets
and is therefore one of Rheinmetall's most important strategic projects in the civil sector
Thomas Kralinski appreciates the innovative strength of the technology group and justifies the funding notification: “Pierburg Pump Technology has recognised the signs of the times
The company is acting foresightedly and is mastering the transformation of the supplier industry with clever concepts by broadening its base and tapping into new markets beyond the automotive sector with new technologies
I am delighted that our GRW funding is supporting this investment in rural areas and strengthening this traditional factory in the long run.”
The Hartha site has been part of the Rheinmetall Group for over 30 years
The company has been characterised by its innovative strength for decades
Its first patent developed at the Hartha site in 1996
the electric water recirculation pump (WUP)
The Hydrogen Recirculation Blower (HRB) and the high-voltage cooling media pump CWA 2000 for fuel cell applications also epitomise the modern product portfolio
which also offers potential applications “beyond automotive”
and the achievement of CO2-neutrality in production by 2035 are further strategic goals to ensure sustainable success
around 400 employees currently work in the various areas as well as thousands of people are indirectly employed in the supply area
Various training programmes are also offered
the site has been honoured several times for its quality as a supplier
Pierburg Pump Technology Ltd won the Ludwig Erhard Award in silver
This “Excellence Prize” is awarded for top performance in the German economy

There’s a reason why many people gravitate towards records that trace one’s journey towards overcoming trauma and healing
as entertainment journalist Jayson Greene once pointed out
has a “profound salutary effect” on listeners
enabling them to access parts of their lives that they deem empowering and hopeful
it also doubles as a source of strength even when the task of surmounting the odds feels impossible at hand
Singer-songwriter syd hartha’s debut EP, gabay (guide) fits into this category
It’s one of those albums that tackles the difficult path to self-love and recovery
all while trying to connect more instinctively with one’s emotional vulnerability
While the folk-pop artist’s brand of gloomy confessionals often showcase attempts to confront her personal demons to uncomfortable lengths
there’s something admirable about gabay in its bid to emerge triumphant towards reclaiming one’s sense of self
“it is a compilation of different stories from my adventures and misadventures as a young woman
The EP mainly talks about healing and taking control over your own destiny
especially in moments when she just lets her guard down and does not care about what people think of her
she comes to terms with resilience and healing and unapologetically reassesses her choices in life with newfound wisdom.
I make sure that I make it relatable in a way since I don’t make music just for myself anymore.”
The Kiyo-assisted “3:15,” “pakay” (purpose) and “kung nag-aatubili” (if you’re reluctant) were some of the songs that she penned during the darkest moments of her life
while “gabay” and “lipad” (fly) were conceived during the height of the pandemic
All these soul-baring tunes reflect the pessimism and angst of someone who struggles to find meaning in existence
but what makes it more emotionally compelling is how syd eventually realizes that brokenness doesn’t necessarily mean defeat
Her EP crushes her worries away with answers that comfort her in times of quiet reflection and self-doubt
It’s a compass that helped her get through the waves of pain
a self-actualization that allows her to embrace her emotions and live with it and by its rules
syd has immensely found her footing in the local music industry as one of its promising new muses
the Awit Award-winning act has performed in several music festivals and high-profile shows
and even bagged several collaborations with international artists
including Japanese producer Yutaka Takanami and American singer-songwriter Sarah Barrios
She has also nabbed opportunities to work with top brands
syd maintains a balance between being “real” as it gets and being able to command influence in a positive way
especially to the younger demographic that relates so much about her life. “I always remember to keep it authentic by just talking to my listeners like I’d normally talk to my loved ones
keeping in mind the power my words have,” shares syd
who seems more comfortable than ever sharing her learnings through the years
Aside from working on new music, the “tila tala” (like a star) singer-songwriter also sets her sights on returning to school and exploring the world beyond her like every normal teenager would
“I want to be able to get through the next semester in school smoothly while still being able to balance my love for play
specifically learning new longboard tricks
and traveling — be it discovering different surf spots or visiting countries to know more about their culture,” she said. With everything going well for syd hartha
it’s inspiring to witness how she managed to step out of someone else’s shadows and reap the benefits of patiently taking the long way to enlightenment and healing
As the lyrics to her song “pag-asa” sum it all up
“Darating din ang umagang magbibigay sa ‘tin ng pag-asa / Sinusubok lang tayo ng panahon” (The morning that gives us hope will come / We are just being tested by time)

“I’m sorry for the ruckus that I may have caused my family
the public the sponsors and my bandmates,” he wrote
Eraserheads guitarist Marcus Adoro has made a statement on social media addressing his daughter, Syd Hartha, after domestic abuse allegations she made against him in 2019 resurfaced following news of the band’s reunion for an upcoming concert
The statement – which was posted on the guitarist’s Instagram account on Monday night (September 26) – claims that he has “lost contact with my daughter for years now
I’ve tried to reach out to her through her manager
but I’m not sure if my messages are going through”
In a statement to NME last week, an unnamed family member of Hartha’s said that they had received “no attempts to reconcile or resolve anything” from Adoro.
Adoro’s statement continues, “Syd, san ka man [wherever you are], I hope you’re doing well. As you already know, I’m far from perfect kaya [so] normal if you want nothing to do with me. Sana lang magkaroon ng [I just hope for a] second chance for redemption. I’m sorry for the ruckus that I may have caused my family, the public the sponsors and my bandmates. Pasensya na [I’m sorry].”
Adoro also goes on to thank his fans for their support of his Eraserheads art, and asks fans to “continue” to support the upcoming reunion concert.
A representative for Syd Hartha declined comment when approached by NME. Below, read Adoro’s full statement, which he posted alongside two paintings, one of the Eraserheads.
A post shared by Punk Zappa (@marcusadoros)
Adoro came under scrutiny last week after Eraserheads announced a reunion concert
Some fans voiced their concern about Adoro’s involvement in the band
resurfacing allegations of domestic abuse made against him in 2019 from Hartha and his ex-partner Barbara Ruaro
Adoro did not publicly respond to the allegations when they were first aired in September 2019
Adoro’s bandmates responded to the outcry over his involvement, with Ely Buendia’s manager Diane Ventura saying that “one of Ely’s non negotiable conditions” to participate in the Eraserheads reunion “was precisely that Marcus resolve his issues otherwise Ely would not work with him.” This was “promised” by Adoro’s management
On the September 21 episode of his podcast Offstage Hangs, drummer Raymund Marasigan spoke about his reluctance to discuss the issue publicly, as he believes that “anything I will say… online can be misconstrued”, and maintained his desire to “protect everybody’s privacy”. “I honestly – in my heart – want them to resolve it and have peace,” he said. “Peace of mind and of heart.”
When NME reached out to Hartha and Ruaro last week for comment on Adoro’s attempts at reaching out for reconciliation, both said that they had yet to hear from Adoro. An unnamed family member of Hartha’s said: “There have been no attempts to reconcile or resolve anything prior to the concert teasers and announcement. We are also not inclined to accept any apology knowing its sincerity is questionable.”
Ruaro said: “Since 2019, neither Marcus nor any of his representatives have reached out to me, Syd, and our respective families. No apologies were made. No civil discussion ensued. And on his part, no steps were taken towards a clear and final resolution. So, regretfully, this is false.”

Syd hartha sings about love and hesitation in her latest single
“kung nag-aatubili,” released on Thursday
The song is part of her upcoming 5-track EP to be released in the first quarter of 2022
The track’s stripped-down instrumentation turns the spotlight on the song’s message – written out of her own attitude towards romance and intimacy
which carries the weight of trauma from her younger years
“I wrote this song a long time ago when I realized that I was starting to like someone
and I was already starting to let that person in my world
“Back then it just didn’t feel right
and I feared the idea of getting to know me deeply and everything I’ve become
I figured that these feelings are a by-product of the inner wounds
and my inability to move forward from the things that happened in the past
This also serves as an important lesson to me
that when I decide to commit to love someone
and accept them for what they’ve been through,” she said
An accompanying music video is set to be released soon
with a visual treatment conceptualized by syd
Swimming Pictures helped me execute my own ideas and it was amazing working with them,” she said
The Filipino duo have also released an intimate music video
Filipino singer-songwriter Syd Hartha has shared an R&B-tinged single ‘3:15’ featuring rapper Kiyo
The new track dropped on major streaming platforms via Sony Music Philippines on Friday (November 25). It will be included in an upcoming EP by Hartha, which will be produced by Brian Lotho. Featuring Hartha’s signature soft vocals alongside soulful acoustic guitar lines and laid-back percussion, ‘3:15’ follows last October’s ‘kung nag-aatibili’
which saw Hartha returning to her stripped-down folk-pop roots
produced by Sony Music and production house Lunchbox Presents
sees both artists singing separately in retro-styled and intimate household settings while reflecting the song’s lovelorn mood
the track was inspired by the reflective moods stirred in early hours of the morning
The track’s Filipino lyrics touch on being in the perpetual embrace of a significant other
Syd Hartha’s latest single arrives nearly a month after she teamed up with former Munimuni frontman Toneejay for the latter’s new single ‘Bawat Piyesa (Secret Verse version)’
They reimagined the Munimuni fan-favourite as an ambient track
assisted by Ang Bandang Shirley singer-songwriter and producer Ean Aguila
Meanwhile, Kiyo shared his latest single ‘Harana sa Sarili’ earlier this month
a song taken from his upcoming debut album
The 20-year-old rapper had said the forthcoming album will contain 15 tracks including collaborations with fellow musicians YZKK
a member of the Technology Group Rheinmetall
has now produced its millionth electric vacuum pump at the Hartha location
The in-house development has been manufactured locally since its market launch in 2017 and has been one of Hartha's success products ever since
Electric vacuum pumps are particularly compact and powerful and used in hybrids and modern electric vehicles as well as in vehicles with conventional drivelines
Especially for today's downsized gasoline engines
the small pumps are indispensable since they always guarantee an adequate vacuum level
we were very proud for us to market launch such a promising product
one that is still with us," reports plant manager Mario Schäfer
"We are all the more pleased today to have crossed the million threshold
This production record is helping to consolidate sales and employment in Hartha."
Chinese automobile manufacturers are also showing keen interest in the electric pumps
they are currently coming on stream at a Chinese joint venture plant
which are directly coupled to the combustion engine
but have the disadvantage that they run continuously even when not needed
switches off when the brakes are not applied
thus reducing fuel consumption and hence harmful emissions
Head of Product Development for Vacuum Pumps
comments: "The further development of vehicle systems is progressing rapidly
so that as early as 2014 we started to expand our portfolio of vacuum pumps with an electric version
we will continue to follow and shape the trend towards intelligent electric pumps with our current developments"
Pierburg has been developing vacuum pumps for brake boosters for decades and has also used this expertise for the development and design of the electric version
Particular emphasis has been placed on reliability and longevity
since vehicle performance must be guaranteed at all times and the braking system in particular has the highest priority

The song will feature on the Filipino singer-songwriter's upcoming EP
Filipino singer-songwriter Syd Hartha has released a new folk-pop single entitled ‘kung nag-aatibili’
The single – which was uploaded onto all major streaming platforms today (October 28) – sees the young musician return to her roots of stripped-down folk-pop
The song is driven largely by Syd Hartha’s calming vocals and a soft acoustic guitar arrangement
sees Syd Hartha explore her attitude towards romantic relationships and letting her guard down when she’s getting to know someone new
Hartha also revealed that she had written the song a long time ago
when she “feared the idea of getting to know me deeply and everything I’ve become”
Hartha recognises that “these feelings are a by-product of the inner wounds
and my inability to move forward from the things that happened in the past”
“This also serves as an important lesson to me
and accept them for what they’ve been through,” she added
‘kung nag-aatubili’ will feature on Syd Hartha’s upcoming five-track EP
expected for release during the first quarter of 2022
‘kung nag-aatubili’ is the 19-year-old’s first solo release of 2021, following a collaboration with Tokimeki Records
and a recording of ‘Sana’y ‘Di Na Lang’ for Coke Studio
Toneejay split from his band Munimuni in June last year
Filipino singer-songwriter Syd Hartha has teamed up with former Munimuni vocalist Toneejay for the latter’s new single ‘Bawat Piyesa (Secret Verse version)’
Released on streaming platforms today (October 28)
the single sees Toneejay and Hartha reimagining the Munimuni fan-favourite single as an ambient track alongside Ang Bandang Shirley singer-songwriter and producer Ean Aguila
Toneejay shared: “I wrote this version during the pandemic when I was in a long-distance relationship with my now fiancee
I wanted to say something about loving people who are not with you and yet are always there with you
I feel that this is a necessary conclusion and continuation to the song.”
‘Bawat Piyesa (Secret Verse version)’ is the latest single from Toneejay’s forthcoming sophomore album ‘Kasama Kita’
which is set to be released in November 2022
Previously released singles from the album include August’s ‘Talinghaga’
July’s ‘Okay Hindi Ngayon’ and ‘Kanta ni Sam’
Toneejay revealed that he had been influenced by Norwegian singer-songwriter AURORA and rapper Kendrick Lamar
as well the video games Last of Us and The Witcher 3
Syd Hartha’s most recent material was the folk-pop single ‘kung nag-aatibili’
The single is set to be included in Hartha’s upcoming five-track EP
which was originally expected to be released in the first quarter of 2022
The singer has not revealed a new release date for the EP as of the time of writing
She previously released a cover of The Cardigans’ ‘Carnival’ in collaboration with Tokimeki Records

Munimuni were set to release their sophomore album ‘MATIMTIMAN’ in November last year
It was to be their first release of the year
as well as their first full-length release after the departure of former vocalist TJ de Ocampo in 2021
but the band eventually only released a single titled ‘MATIMTIMAN’ on November 16
Munimuni have yet to announce a new release date for ‘MATIMTIMAN’ the album
Syd Hartha most recently teamed up with rapper Kiyo to release the R&B-tinged single ‘3:15’ in November last year. The single is the first release in an upcoming EP by Hartha, and arrived nearly a month after she teamed up with former Munimuni frontman Toneejay for the latter’s new single ‘Bawat Piyesa (Secret Verse version)’
Just weeks prior to the release of ‘Bawat Piyesa (Secret Verse version)’, Hartha released ‘kung nag-aatibili’
which saw her returning to her stripped-down folk-pop roots
The Ridleys most recently released the collaborative single ‘Intertwine’ with pop-rock band Over October. The two acts announced a four-date tour last year in support of the single that was released on November 25, and was the first track The Ridleys released following the launch of their album ‘Until I Reach The Sun – Vol. 1’ in September.

Syd hartha has released her latest single “hiwaga,” a song about healing and self-awakening that lives up to its name
The track opens with syd’s stunning vocals giving way to a rap verse – a reflection of hip-hop’s influence on syd’s songwriting

Philippines – Singer Syd Hartha has opened up about abuse she experienced at the hands of her father
Syd said she grew up yearning to know the person people said was her real father
“Sa labinlimang taon ng buhay kong wala siya upang gumanap na ama sa akin
sobrang dami kong tanong tungkol sa kanya at wala na akong ibang ginusto kundi makilala ‘yung iba ko pang mga kadugo at siyempre
malaman ang pakiramdam na makasama siyang sinasabi nilang tunay kong ama,” she said
(In the 15 years of my life that he wasn’t there to be a father to me
I had so many questions about him and I wanted nothing else but to get to know my other family
to know what it feels like to be with the man they tell me is my real father)
but later in her post mentioned a certain “Makoy.”
The indie singer appeared to be referring to her father Marcus Adoro
guitarist of iconic rock band Erasherheads
She said that she was able to spend time with him for nearly a year
during which she was able to answer the questions she had about him before
“Hinding-hindi ko makakalimutan iba’t ibang klase ng abuso na dinanas ko sa kanya
Kaya pala ako nilalayo ng nanay ko at iba pang mga kamag-anak ko sa kanya
(I will not forget all the kinds of abuse that I experienced from him
That explains why my mother and other relatives kept me away from him
Syd said she tried to stay away from “Makoy” many times
hitting her head on the wall even in front of her friends
or when her mother’s back was turned
“I never realized then na (that) I might be interrupting his karma
better but I know I tried to help myself as much as I could,” she said
araw-araw kong bitbit ‘yung takot na baka mangyari ulit ito sa akin o sa kahit sino man
Sana magsilbi itong gabay sa lahat,” she wrote
I carry the fear that this may all happen to me again
I hope this serves as a warning for everyone.)
“This monster could be anywhere now doing who else knows what
Let’s watch out for each other,” she wrote
she included screenshots of a disturbing chat with her alleged abuser
Syd also included a screenshot of a chat with Barbara Ruaro
The screenshot shows Syd and Ruaro expressing concern that the person “could be anywhere.” It includes a photo allegedly sent to Ruaro by someone who looks like Adoro
Labyu,” referring to the 60s cult leader who inspired his followers to murder several people
Ruaro had also come forward with allegations of abuse against a party she has yet to name
saying: “This happened to me yesterday
caused by someone I loved and cared for deeply.”
“Domestic violence is not limited in terms of bruises
I experienced all sorts of abuse under the hand of a narcissistic man
The vicious cycle he has created for himself and others should be put to a stop,” she said
someone asked if Ruaro was referring to “Marcus.” The comment was “liked” by both Syd and Ruaro
recalling incidents of gaslighting and emotional manipulation
She also posted more photos of cuts and bruises all over her body
“The internal wounds keep me up night
I was made to feel everything was my fault
That everytime I reacted negatively to his abuse
it was a result of my PTSD and not the abuse itself
brainwashing me into believing no one will ever understand me like he does,” she said
but I won’t be silenced by the fear he has instilled
I will make sure justice is served,” she added
Ruaro and Adoro had previously worked together on the film Dog Days

Trigger Warning: Mentions of domestic abuse and sexual violence
A day after former Eraserheard member Marcus Adoro publicly addressed his issue with his daughter Syd Hartha Chua
writer-actress Barbara Ruaro aired her thoughts about apologies
The actress, who used to be Marcus’ partner, wrote the following on her Twitter last Tuesday:
“An apology shouldn’t cost millions of pesos
The tweet has earned 42 likes as of this writing
Barbara also retweeted some quote tweets of some Filipinos who aired their thoughts about her post
Among those she retweeted was a post by @_wastedwanderer
who referenced some words from Marcus’ Instagram
“When people use the words ‘may have caused’ in their apology
it makes me think they’re not really holding themselves accountable for their transgressions,” the user said last Wednesday
“And if one of those transgressions involve[s] physical [and] verbal abuse
calling it a ‘ruckus’ is an injustice to the victims,” the user added
Marcus acknowledged abuse allegations by Syd and said that he has “lost contact” with her “for years now.”
“Recently, I’ve tried to reach out to her through her manager, but I’m not sure if my messages are getting through. So, I’m making this post,” he said on Instagram
I’m far from perfect kaya normal if you want nothing to do with me
Sana lang magkaroon ng second chance for redemption
I’m sorry for the ruckus that I may have caused my family
“I also want to thank the people who are supporting E-Heads’ art
Please continue to support the E-Heads reunion
Alay po sa ating lahat ito,” he further said
Syd, meanwhile, reshared an article of NME magazine where one of her family members said that “there have been no attempts to reconcile or resolve anything prior to the concert teasers and announcement.”
The concert referred to the Eraserheads‘ reunion concert in December
where former members—including Marcus—will perform
“We are also not inclined to accept any apology
We would like to thank everyone who continues to give us support,” Syd’s family member added
Syd alleged Marcus of hitting her head against the wall
She also claimed the musician told her she would be raped

Barbara also claimed of suffering cuts and bruises
as well as “almost a year of psychological manipulation,” from the former Eraserheads member when they were together
RELATED: Barbara Ruaro, Syd Hartha speak up as Ely Buendia’s manager addresses Marcus Adoro issue
Philippines – Marcus Adoro has broken his silence on the abuse allegations that have resurfaced following the news of an Eraserheads reunion
the guitarist disclosed that he has reached out to his daughter Syd Hartha
whom he has “lost contact” with for years now
Marcus added that he also tried to contact her manager
but he’s not sure if his messages are getting through.
It can be recalled that in September 2019, Syd took to Facebook to say that she was verbally and physically abused by her father
who she had just reconnected with at the time
Marcus’ ex-partner Barbie Ruaro also came forward
saying that she had been physically abused by a loved one – though she didn’t name Marcus at the time.
Marcus wrote that he hopes she’s doing well wherever she is
kaya normal (that’s why it’s normal) if you want nothing to do with me
Sana lang magkaroon ng second chance for redemption (I just hope I get a second chance for redemption),” he continued.
The guitarist also apologized for the trouble he has caused his family
Marcus then thanked those who continue to support Eraserheads’ art and asked the public to also support the band’s upcoming reunion concert
“Alay po sa ating lahat ito (This is for all of us),” he finished.
Marcus’ open letter comes after fans have expressed their concern over his participation in the reunion concert given the allegations of domestic abuse that he’s facing
Many fans have made it clear that they’d only support the reunion if Marcus is replaced by a different guitarist.
Prior to Marcus’ statement, the three other Eraserheads members have also aired their side in separate accounts
Ely Buendia’s manager Diane Ventura made it clear that Ely’s “non-negotiable conditions” for the project is that “Marcus [resolves] his issues,” while Raymund Marasigan said that he’s open to speaking privately with Marcus about the matter and he hopes that the issue gets resolved between the parties involved.
In an exclusive interview with Rappler, Buddy Zabala has expressed his solidarity with Marcus’ alleged victims while also saying that he has to abide by however the concert producers decide to resolve the issue.
Syd has yet to comment on Marcus’ statement.

Content warning: This story discusses allegations of domestic violence and physical abuse
Two members of Filipino rock icons Eraserheads, Ely Buendia and Raymund Marasigan
have addressed resurfaced abuse allegations against guitarist Marcus Adoro and criticism of his involvement in the band’s reunion concert
Though Buendia’s manager has revealed that he agreed to the reunion on the condition that Adoro “resolve his issues” – a condition Adoro’s management is said to have “promised” to fulfil – both Adoro’s daughter Syd Hartha and ex-partner Barbara Ruaro
The Eraserheads Huling El Bimbo Concert was announced earlier this week. Promotional material for the show, which takes place in Manila this December, indicated that Adoro would reunite with the other three members of the band – Buendia, Marasigan and Buddy Zabala

After the show was announced, as Rappler notes
some took to social media noting allegations of abuse that were seemingly made against Adoro in September 2019 by Hartha and Ruaro
Adoro did not publicly address the allegations at the time
As reported by Coconuts at the time
Hartha – in a social media post on September 12
2019 that referred to the alleged perpetrator as “Makoy” – alleged that he physically abused her multiple times
hitting her head against the wall even in the presence of her friends
The post concluded with Hartha calling “Makoy” a “monster”: “Sana magsilbi itong gabay sa lahat
(‘Hope this serves as a guide for everyone.’) This monster could be anywhere now doing who else knows what
Users on Twitter have since expressed dismay and anger at Adoro’s inclusion in the band’s reunion show in light of the allegations
Both Ruaro and Hartha appeared to respond to the furore on social media
with the former expressing gratitude for “every single person who chose not to turn a blind eye” and the latter thanking “those who didn’t forget” in a post which has garnered nearly 20,000 likes
Thank you to every single person who chose not to turn a blind eye

In a statement to NME yesterday (September 21)
Ely Buendia’s manager Diane Ventura said that “one of Ely’s non negotiable conditions prior to signing [an agreement to participate in the Eraserheads reunion] was precisely that Marcus resolve his issues otherwise Ely would not work with him.” This was “promised” by Adoro’s management
Ventura also responded to claims that the band were “enabling” an alleged abuser by having Adoro involved in the reunion
saying: “To call Ely an enabler is categorically false and absurd
We acknowledge the pain and suffering of the parties involved and we seek accountability.”
Ventura’s statement concluded: “We will do what we can to encourage peace
resolution and will never get in the way of possible reconciliation or second chances between families
We are hoping for good to come out of this.”
In separate statements issued to NME on September 21
after the publication of Buendia’s manager’s statement
Hartha and Ruaro said that they have not received from Adoro or a representative of his any attempts at reconciliation or apology
A family member of Hartha’s who declined to be named told NME: “There have been no attempts to reconcile or resolve anything prior to the concert teasers and announcement
We are also not inclined to accept any apology knowing its sincerity is questionable
“We would like to thank everyone who continues to give us support.”
When asked if there were discussions between her and Adoro with an aim to “resolve [their] issues”
neither Marcus nor any of his representatives have reached out to me
no steps were taken towards a clear and final resolution
Ruaro declined to comment on both the allegations she made in 2019 and Adoro’s involvement in the Eraserheads reunion
saying: “I refuse to comment any further regarding the matter
I have been working on my own healing and have been blessed with a strong support system
There is nothing else that I desire more than peace
and for my beautiful family to remain protected throughout the course of this predicament.”
In an interview with Bandwagon published September 20
Raymund Marasigan briefly touched on the resurfacing allegations against Adoro
seek me out and we can talk about it privately,” the drummer stated
“I hope the issue between the parties gets resolved soon,” he added
“I really want to respect the privacy of those involved
and sincerely hope they all find peace of mind.”
Marasigan reiterated his perspective in the latest episode of his podcast Offstage Hang
Marasigan said it was “the most difficult question of all”
before reiterating his reluctance to discuss the issue publicly
as he believes that “anything I will say… online can be misconstrued”
and maintaining his desire to “protect everybody’s privacy”
“I honestly – in my heart – want them to resolve it and have peace,” he said
Marasigan also acknowledged the controversial nature of the Eraserheads reunion
I will not invalidate everybody’s opinions or feelings.”
NME has reached out to representatives of Raymund Marasigan and Buddy Zabala for comment

Filipino singer-songwriter syd hartha continues to captivate music listeners from various generations with the release of her new single “Panalangin,” a cover of Apo Hiking Society’s early ‘80s hit
syd reinterprets the source material with a stripped-down arrangement and a delicate touch
adding her own stamp while retaining the essence of what makes the song a timeless classic
“Panalangin” is one of the most popular songs in Syd’s gig repertoire
“It personally reminds me of very special memories I want to cherish forever.”
“I’ve always considered Panalangin to be one of the sweetest and most timeless OPM songs
The original version is very upbeat and pop
and I decided I wanted to add a feminine touch to it—something that sounds more mellow and softer
syd’s version of “Panalangin” was arranged and produced by Brian Lotho of Sonic State Audio
They have professionally built a great foundation of trust and collaboration through the years
working together as constant collaborators for five years
As for the tila tala act’s approach to remaking a song into her own
syd admits that her goal has always been to strike a balance between her singing and playing style
while staying true to the original’s melodic qualities
specifically When I Met You and Panalangin have always been part of my ‘songs-I-wish-were-written-for-me’ playlist
I always admired how they’re so beautifully written
It’s an honor to be able to officially cover a song like Panalangin.”

Filipino singer-songwriter syd hartha returns to her roots on the stripped-down single “kung nag-aatubili.”
The folk-pop tune will be part of her upcoming 5-track EP to be released in the first quarter of 2022
and serves as her first original material for 2021 after contributing vocals for Tokimeki Records’ city pop-inspired “Carnival” and participating in Coke Studio Season 4
“kung nag-aatubili” reflects her complicated attitude towards romantic relationships and intimacy
which stemmed from the traumatic experiences that she endured during her younger years
and accept them for what they’ve been through.”
Dialing back her sound to its bare essentials without sacrificing her newfound maturity in songwriting
syd hartha has penned another understatedly beautiful track that feels more introspective than her usual confessional entries
Marked by warm, laid-back guitar arrangements and soothing vocals, “kung nag-aatubili” starts restrained but assured of its exquisiteness
and builds into a musical wanderlust towards the end
her goal is to make it as raw and intimate as possible
arriving with the promise of a home—strong
The song will be accompanied by a music video slated to be released in the coming weeks
The visual treatment is conceptualized by syd herself
wants to make the storytelling mirror her personal truths
Swimming Pictures helped me execute my own ideas and it was amazing working with them,” says the folk-pop act
“kung nag-aatubili” is out now on all digital music platforms worldwide via Sony Music Philippines. The lyric video is available here
The renowned and multi-talented singer-songwriter syd hartha is in full display of her eclecticism with the release of her song
The young artist expresses her complicated feelings towards someone who is imperfect by any means but certainly
3:15 is about how someone feels wrong but feels so good at the same time
“I always try to convince myself that someone or something won’t always be good to me
The title of the song was inspired by the sudden reflections that happen in the early yet dark
witching hours of the morning when one is stirred from slumber and wakes up
until I realized that the title shares a connection with the lyrics: that specific time can also symbolize trying to make the most out of the dark
the Filipino rapper and producer kiyo dropped some smooth and exquisite verses which complement the track’s honest depiction of fallibility where moments such as a narrative becomes more loose and moody as it reaches the lateness of the hour
bakit ‘di marinig” which are lines that keeps one awake
harboring the complicated feelings of desire and danger
3:15 also comes with a music video conceptualized by Pau Tiu and supervised by Raliug from Lunchbox Productions
the visual material is a perfect visualization of what the song is about: enveloping oneself in the comforts of one’s safe space
which is a place where emotions such as fear and shame
3:15 is part of a new and upcoming EP by syd hartha which Brian Lotho will be producing
syd wants to assert her creative agency by exploring specific moods in every song by combining folk and stripped-down elements while adding contemporary flair

Up-and-coming indie folk singer Syd Hartha Chua has become the talk of social media after accusing her father
of physical assault in Facebook and Instagram posts that went live last night
Adoro, for those who don’t know, is the former lead guitarist of one of the most famous Filipino rock bands of all time, the Eraserheads
He’s currently the lead singer-guitarist of the band Markushighway

Chua wrote about her complex relationship with her father
whom she simply called “Makoy.”
he wasn’t there to be a father to me,” she wrote in Filipino
and I wanted nothing else but to get to know him
to know what it feels like to be with the man they say is my real father.”
What she says she learned during a year living with her father
“I will never forget the different kinds of abuse that I suffered from him,” she wrote
“Now I know why my mother and other members of the family wanted me to stay away
“He’s hurt me so many times physically
or when my mother’s back was turned… I should’ve done better
but I know I tried to help myself as much as I could.”
she adds: “The monster could be anywhere doing who else knows what
let’s watch out for each other.”
The post also included screenshots of a conversation between a man (presumably Adoro) who scolded another person (possibly Chua) for being loose with her sexuality
“Are you still picky about who touches your p*ssy?”
You’re embarrassing,” the other person replied
“So are you saying that if I were raped
it was my fault?” the woman answered
“You will be raped but you not do anything about it [sic]
I hope you realize how stupid what you said is,” the woman shot back
A week before Chua’s post went online
posted a Facebook photo showing her cut eye and bruised face
6 post reads: “This happened to me yesterday
The vicious cycle he has created for himself and others should be put to a stop,” she added
More than 24 hours after his daughter’s accusations went public

Eraserheads’ Marcus Adoro has written an open letter and apology addressed to his daughter
and the band’s fans — finally addressing the elephant in the room after allegations of emotional
and physical abuse resurfaced on social media ahead of the Eraserheads’ much-awaited reunion concert in December
one of the Philippines’ most iconic rock bands
recently announced that they would be reuniting for a concert for the first time in several years
realizing many long-time fans’ wishes for the band to get back together in spite of their tumultuous musical and personal histories with one another
Yet soon after the announcement of the high-profile reunion, allegations of violent physical and emotional abuse against Eraserheads guitarist Marcos Adoro made by his daughter Syd Hartha
That prompted some — including many of the band’s younger fans — to call for a boycott of Adoro’s participation in the concert
Stop being blinded just because we love them as a band
Marcus Adoro is CLEARLY an abuser who doesn't deserve the limelight anymore
Malala ang pinagdaanan ng anak nya under him just for us to sweep everything under the rug because he's a member of a band we love
Adoro finally broke his silence over the allegations on Instagram yesterday
saying that he had not been in touch with his daughter for years
He said he has tried to get in touch with Syd through her manager but was unsure if his messages were getting through to her
I’m far from perfect so it’s normal that you want nothing to do with me,” the guitarist wrote
The musician also asked for a chance to redeem himself with his daughter
“I just hope I can get a second chance for redemption
I’m sorry for the ruckus that I may have caused my family
Adoro also thanked long-time fans who continue to support the band’s music
and asked them to continue supporting the scheduled reunion concert
“This is dedicated to all of us,” he wrote in Filipino
The band was founded by members Raymund Marasigan
and Adoro when they were students at the University of the Philippines in 1989
Their widespread success is credited with having launched the alternative rock music scene in the country
and they are recognized as one of the most successful and influential bands in the country’s history
The reunion concert marks 20 years after the band officially broke up in 2002
with frontman Ely Buendia saying that the band’s lack of friendship with one another was what led to their demise
The band got back together at a 2008 concert that was cut short when Buendia was rushed to the hospital halfway through the show due to heart problems.
The Eraserheads released two new songs under Esquire Philippines
the first time they released new material in over a decade
alongside a magazine cover that mimicked The Beatles’ Abbey Road album cover
Yet efforts to reunite the band for good have been shut down over the years
“Some people will never understand that people who don’t get along don’t work together.”
reunion rumors sparked once more when the former frontman tweeted that the band would reunite “‘Pag tumakbo si Leni (When Leni runs),” ahead of then-Vice President Leni Robredo’s announcement that she would run in the May 2022 presidential election
After Eraserheads announced a reunion concert
fans were excited to see the band back together again
But not everyone was thrilled about guitarist Marcus Adoro returning to the stage with his bandmates
Fans brought to light the abuse allegations against Adoro by his former partner Barbara Ruaro and his daughter Syd Hartha in 2019
"Address the issue first. Di pwedeng ganun na lang. 2019 pa ang issue but the damage is done. I am an Eheads fan myself pero hindi ako fanatic. Let's call them out. Make the abuser pay," said one user on Facebook
"Stop being blinded just because we love them as a band. Marcus Adoro is CLEARLY an abuser who doesn't deserve the limelight anymore. Malala ang pinagdaanan ng anak nya under him just for us to sweep everything under the rug because he's a member of a band we love, wrote another netizen on Twitter
Another user called for the band to remove Adoro from their upcoming December concert
I beg the 3 members of Eraserheads to remove Marcus Adoro in the reunion concert.https://t.co/Tzr5SqfU97
On Facebook, one user called out the other band members for their silence on the allegations
"May sinabi ba mga kabanda niya tungkol dun
ang sakit sa ulo lalo na kung mahal mo ang musika nila
Maganda siguro ma-address muna ito ng Eheads."
Syd Hartha and Ruaro opened up about the alleged abuse they experienced at the hands of Adoro without directly naming him
Ruaro posted photos of bruises she incurred
adding she was a victim of domestic violence
Meanwhile, Syd Hartha opened up about how her father, who was absent for most of her life, allegedly physically hurt her in front of her friends and when her mother's back was turned
The two thanked Eraserheads fans who remembered the abuse allegations in the midst of the excitement over the reunion concert
"Salamat sa mga di nakalimot," Hartha tweeted
"Thank you to every single person who chose not to turn a blind eye. Thank you for praying with us and for us. Thank you for making sure that we feel your massive support, whether we know each other personally or not," Ruaro said

Barbara shared photos of her bruises she received from a man she neglected to name
she shared: “This happened to me yesterday
“Domestic violence is not limited in terms of bruises,” she continued
The vicious cycle he has created for himself and others should be put to a stop.”
A post shared by Barbara Ruaro (@bieruaro) on Sep 5
She then shared her full story in a succeeding post accompanied by more photos of her wounds which she says are “just half of the damage done” to her body
“Some people have told me not to dwell and just move on
Some people have suggested that exposing his name to the public will bring me instant gratification
Some people think it’s my fault because I stayed
and enabled him… I promised myself if I’m going to fight for this case
I’m going to do it right,” she began
She also shared the emotional abuse she experienced in the hands of her abuser (who she still doesn’t name in the post)
She talked about being persuaded to quit her career and “devote” her life to her him
being locked inside her room and isolated from friends and family
and being told never to leave him or he will commit suicide

Rumors that it was Marcus who Barbara was referring to as her abuser in her posts seemed to have been confirmed by Marcus’ daughter
who came forward with her own allegations against her father
Syd began her post by sharing how she initially wanted to get to know Marcus after he missed out on being a father to her for fifteen years
She couldn’t understand why her relatives kept her from meeting him
But she soon discovered why after just one year of being in constant touch with him

“Sa halos isang taong madalas ko siyang nakakausap at nakakasama
nabigyan na ng kasagutan lahat ng bitbit kong katanungan noon
hinding hindi ko makakalimutan iba’t ibang klase ng abuso na dinanas ko sa kanya
Syd also posted on Facebook screenshots of some of her conversations with Marcus where he sent her rape threats
and invalidated her “mental health issues”
She also revealed that Marcus had beat her even when she was with friends
“Hindi lang isang beses na sinaktan niya ako nang pisikal
tinatama niya ulo ko sa pader; kahit sa harap ng kaibigan ko o kapag nakatalikod nanay ko.
i never realized then na i might be interrupting his karma
i should’ve done better but i know i tried to help myself as much as i could,” she added
