The Diocese of Hildesheim’s new contact people for queer-sensitive pastoral care
we want to be able to give all people a home
which is why it is so important that there are these safe spaces for queer people in our churches,” says one German Catholic
He and two fellow pastoral workers were recently designated as contact persons for queer-sensitive pastoral care in the Diocese of Hildesheim
Announcing these new appointments, the German diocese published a description of the pastoral care the designated ministers will provide (via Google Translate):
if a lesbian couple registers their child for baptism
a trans person wants to celebrate their transition with a blessing ceremony
or parents of a non-binary child are looking for pastoral care
Your pastoral care also includes a commitment to building a mindful culture for the life situations in which those being accompanied find themselves
the three representatives are available to answer requests from parishes and institutions for queer pastoral services.”
In order to build a culture of welcome within the diocese
these pastoral workers will also be responsible for equipping other church staff by training them in queer-sensitive pastoral care and responding to questions as they come up
“This begins with the way people are addressed and continues with the development of a culture that prevents discrimination,” says the diocesan announcement
Members of this new commission come from various ministries and regions within the diocese
Michael Hasenauer is a university chaplain in the city of Lüneburg
And Linda Menniger is a hospital chaplain in the city of Hannover
who commented that the commission’s work “touches on many questions that I am familiar with from my everyday life as a hospital chaplain
especially when dealing with transgender and intersex people.”
The diocese describes the new commission as a continuation of existing outreach efforts that had been undertaken by a local Dominican priest
“The three commissioners are building on the work of the Brunswick Dominican Father Hans-Albert Gunk
who was available for many years in the Diocese of Hildesheim as a contact person for pastoral discussions with homosexual people
the development of queer-sensitive pastoral care will broaden the view of how to deal with gender diversity
The commission is also a continuation of a central demand from the Hildesheim Declaration ‘Blessing for this World’ from March 2021: ‘People are equal parts of the church
God’s blessing is for them and their partnerships – because it applies to all loving relationships without exception.'”
At the core of the commission’s work is a common impulse
which new member Hasenauer described simply: “As a church
we want to be a place where all people are welcome.”
All loving Relationships are good but the same sex acts and even fornication and adultery by straight people are not blessed by God as they are taught as sinful
Love doesn’t always have to include sex
I pray that all diocese make the effort to see things in a new way and INCLUSIVE
and website in this browser for the next time I comment

Hildesheim Cathedral has one of the most complete surviving ensembles of church furnishings and treasures in Europe
with many masterpieces made between 1000 and 1250
it was designated a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site in 1985
A major renovation of the cathedral provides an opportunity for this extraordinary exhibition of medieval church treasures
the exhibition focuses primarily on Bishop Bernward of Hildesheim (960–1022)
one of the greatest patrons of the arts in the Middle Ages
In addition to the famous monumental bronze doors and the column in Hildesheim Cathedral that cannot travel
Bernward commissioned many smaller precious works of art
A silver crucifix and candlesticks and numerous illuminated manuscripts (that he is known to have commissioned)
and the Golden Madonna (that he is believed to have commissioned)
The exhibition also examines the artistic production of Hildesheim in the high Middle Ages
including the monumental bronze baptismal font that is a masterpiece of thirteenth-century metalwork
"Dazzling"—New York Sun
"Today, [Hildesheim's] churches and museums still preserve one of the richest and densest concentrations of 11th-century European religious art anywhere. And the Met show is pure cream skimmed off the top."—New York Times
The exhibition is made possible by the Michel David-Weill Fund
The exhibition is supported by an indemnity from the Federal Council on the Arts and the Humanities
The catalogue is made possible by The Andrew W

Peter Wright celebrated a stunning return to winning ways on an extraordinary night in Hildesheim
defeating a record-breaking Luke Littler 8-5 in Sunday’s NEO.bet German Darts Championship final
An emotional Wright defied the odds to topple Littler in one of the most remarkable European Tour finals of all-time
having trailed 5-2 in Sunday’s showpiece at Halle 39
Teenage sensation Littler averaged 106.87 and hit ten 180s in a compelling contest

Littler had made an ominous start to proceedings
14 and 13 darts to lead 3-0 with a 118 average

Littler then missed double 15 for a spectacular 150 checkout in leg 12 as Wright pinned double one to move to the cusp of victory
before the Scot capped off a famous triumph with an 11-darter on tops
“I just kept believing in myself,” reflected Wright
who defied a ten-point gap in the averages to lift his ninth European Tour title – a record only bettered by Michael van Gerwen
“Luke is a fantastic dart player and he was blowing me off the board with 180s
Luke is distraught because he wants to win
and he’ll be back and beating us all again soon!”
Wright followed up an opening round win over Niko Springer with a thrilling second round win against Stephen Bunting on Saturday
as the Masters champion crashed out with a 103 average
The Scot then backed up a gruelling 6-4 success against Gian van Veen with victory over Van Gerwen by the same scoreline in an epic quarter-final
averaging 108.90 to overturn a 4-2 deficit
This set up a semi-final showdown against top seed Dave Chisnall
where Wright maintained his revival by pinning seven of his 12 attempts at double to move through to his first final of 2024
was unable to add to his wins in Wieze and Graz
despite crashing in 31 maximums across the weekend – a new European Tour record
The Warrington wonderkid kicked off his title bid with a six-leg blitz of Dylan Slevin on Saturday
before winning through a scrappy affair against Ryan Searle to reach the last eight
The Premier League champion then fought back from 4-1 down to deny Damon Heta in a dramatic quarter-final
while he proved too strong for Daryl Gurney in the last four
averaging 107 and hitting eight 180s to advance to a meeting with Wright
“Peter just wouldn’t go away,” conceded Littler
who was eyeing an eighth PDC title of 2024
but maybe the game would have changed if I hit that 150 [checkout]
Chisnall defeated Wright to win the German Darts Championship in 2013
although he was unable to repeat the feat as he missed out on back-to-back European Tour titles
The 43-year-old opened Sunday’s action with a six-leg whitewash of Joe Cullen
before defying a heroic fightback from Martin Schindler in a breathless quarter-final
2019 champion Gurney also impressed in progressing to his first big stage semi-final of 2024
registering back-to-back ton-plus averages in wins over Krzysztof Ratajski and Nick Kenny on Finals Day
Kenny ended the hopes of reigning champion Ricardo Pietreczko in reaching his maiden
having also dumped out Ross Smith in Saturday’s second round
Three-time winner Van Gerwen averaged 102 in his last 16 demolition of World Cup partner Danny Noppert
although a 104 average wasn’t enough to topple an inspired Wright in the last eight
Heta defeated a spirited Andrew Gilding in his run to the quarter-finals while Schindler secured another big stage victory against Chris Dobey to reach his sixth European Tour quarter-final of the season

September drei pastorale Mitarbeitende beauftragt
The National Off-Highway Vehicle Conservation Council (NOHVCC) board has selected long-time project manager/program director Marc Hildesheim as the next executive director of the organization
“I’m very excited to lead NOHVCC on the next leg of its journey and can’t wait to see what the staff
and our partners can achieve,” says Hildesheim
Hildesheim and his family have a long history in OHV recreation starting with the Brush Bunch Motorcycle Club
of which Hildesheim’s grandfather was a founding member in 1970
He is now a third-generation club member with his brother and father
Hildesheim began working on trails as a seasonal trail ranger for the Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation and later as a full-time staff member as a trails specialist
He later moved to New Mexico to work for the state OHV program
first as the OHV education coordinator and then as the OHV program manager
“Marc has been a champion with his great work in the OHV community for over 20 years. And the Hildesheim family is a perfect example of what our great sport is all about. NOHVCC’s mission is looking very strong,” says Dan Kleen
Hildesheim currently resides in Post Falls
and two Australian Shepherds where he rides dirt bikes whenever life will let him
He will officially start as the director on June 5

Medieval Church Treasures from Hildesheim Featured in Fall Exhibition at Metropolitan MuseumSeptember 17
Exhibition location: Wrightsman Exhibition Gallery
10:00 a.m.-noonGermany’s Hildesheim Cathedral in Lower Saxony has one of the most complete surviving ensembles of ecclesiastical furnishings and treasures in Europe
including many medieval masterpieces made between about 1000 and 1250
The cathedral was designated a UNESCO world cultural heritage site in 1985
Major renovations that are currently underway provide the opportunity for Medieval Treasures from Hildesheim—an extraordinary selection of about 50 medieval church treasures
most of which have never been shown outside Europe—to travel to The Metropolitan Museum of Art
where they will be on view beginning September 17
The exhibition is made possible by the Michel David-Weill Fund. The exhibition is supported by an indemnity from the Federal Council on the Arts and the Humanities
Exhibition OverviewThe first section of the exhibition will focus primarily on the legacy of Bishop Bernward of Hildesheim (960–1022)
Hildesheim was a center for bronze-making and other artistic activities
mostly for his Benedictine monastic foundation
a pair of richly decorated silver candlesticks
all of which will be included in the exhibition
The monumental lifesize wood carving known as the Ringelheim crucifix is one of the earliest surviving three-dimensional sculptures of the Middle Ages
It will provide a focal point for the gallery
which will contain one of the most impressive groups of 11th-century works of art ever seen in North America. The exhibition will also examine the continuing artistic production of Hildesheim in the high Middle Ages
as well as reliquaries and portable altars decorated with enamel and ivory will be featured
The late-12th-century Saint Oswald reliquary surmounted by a silver-gilt bust of the saint and decorated with finely drawn niello plaques is a highlight as are the three gilt-bronze liturgical fans with openwork decoration and cabochon stones
each over 16 inches in diameter.Hildesheim re-emerged as a major center for bronze casting in the early 13th century
The cathedral’s monumental bronze baptismal font dating to about 1226—which will be displayed nearby
in the Medieval Sculpture Hall— is one of the most important works to survive from the Middle Ages
The basin and its lid rest on free-standing kneeling figures of the four Rivers of Paradise and the complete ensemble measures six feet in height
the basin depicts the Baptism of Christ and the Virgin Enthroned flanked by scenes from the Hebrew Bible that were understood in the Middle Ages to prefigure the Baptism of Christ
The lid has four additional scenes in relief
and ancillary figures and lengthy inscriptions further enrich the font
Also on view in the exhibition will be other important examples of bronzework from that time: a cast bronze eagle lectern
and a crozier (a religious staff of office
Publication and Related ProgramsThe exhibition will be accompanied by a fully illustrated catalogue written by scholars on the Museum’s staff in collaboration with scholars in France and Germany
The first comprehensive overview of the Hildesheim collection in English
Department of Medieval Art and The Cloisters; and Michael Brandt
It is published by the Metropolitan Museum and distributed by Yale University Press
and will be available in the Museum’s book shops ($24.95
hardcover). The catalogue is made possible by The Andrew W
Mellon Foundation.Among the education programs organized in conjunction with the exhibition will be a series of gallery talks and a How Did They Do That
a Sunday at the Met program includes the showing of a film on the creation of a bronze aquamanile
followed by a discussion by Peter Dandridge

Alan Soutar said people “do not understand” how tough PDC darts is after he defeated Daryl Gurney in the deciding leg to secure a maiden ranking title in the Players Championship 11 in Hildesheim
who is the 11th different winner from as many events held in 2024
won out thanks to a series of fine displays as he continued his recovery from a poor 2023 that placed his Tour Card status in jeopardy
A landmark victory saw him put in a composed 11-darter to deny Gurney in a last-leg shoot-out amidst high drama to shore up his credentials
“To win a ProTour in this room against 127 other players that I respect so much
“This is possibly the best thing I’ve done in darts, apart from winning the World Cup with Scotland in the WDF system
“Last year was a disaster for me and I’ve been in danger of losing my Tour Card
“I don’t think some people understand how hard it is (in the PDC)
The 46-year-old made a strong start against Gurney, weighing in with an 11-dart hold, but his opponent from Northern Ireland turned the match on its head with a three-leg spell to go into a 5-3 lead.
Soutar quickly made it 5-5 and after the next four legs were shared, he scored back-to-back 180s in the decider before closing out the win with his second 11-darter.
“I had a good couple of seasons in my first two years on tour,” said Soutar. “Last year was terrible, but this year has just got a whole load better.”
Earlier in the day he had seen off Steve Beaton in his opener, winning out 5-3 despite having falling behind, before accounting for Martin Lukeman and Danny Noppert each by a 6-2 scoreline.
Next he shot to a 107.73 average in defeating Ritchie Edhouse before Niels Zonneveld was also dispatched, and there was a similarly impressive 102.15 to eliminate Dirk van Duijvenbode in the semi-finals.
Günther Stern) was born in 1922 in Hildesheim
he remembers seeing a parade of men in Nazi uniforms marching on the streets below the family’s apartment

he worked tirelessly to try to secure visas for his parents and brother and sister back in Germany
But he was ultimately unable to find them a suitable sponsor and their visas were never granted

who may still be named prefect of the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith
recently published a letter stating that “it has become clear that we need significant changes in sexual morality in the Catholic Church.”
Shortly before Christmas 2022, it seemed likely that Dr
bishop of Hildesheim and a prominent proponent of the German “Synodal Way,” would be named prefect of the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith in succession to Cardinal Luis Ladaria Ferrer
Bishop Wilmer’s statements on a number of doctrinal and moral matters drew the concerned attention of senior churchmen in Rome and elsewhere; these men
made their concerns known to Pope Francis; and the announcement of Bishop Wilmer’s appointment
which was reportedly planned for December 19
The Wilmer appointment, however, remains a live option, according to Vatican sources. It thus seems appropriate to draw to the attention of all concerned a letter Bishop Wilmer sent to his diocese on March 13
shortly after the Synodal Way adjourned its final assembly after endorsing a new governing structure for the Church in Germany
liturgical blessings for same-sex “unions”
a reformulation of the Catholic ethic of human love
and the reconsideration of the admission of women to Holy Orders
Bishop Wilmer acknowledged that the divisions within German Catholicism “seemed to deepen more and more” along the Synodal Way
“the factions becoming more intolerant.” Yet the bishop did not comment on the obvious fact that the “gap between the synod members” was a chasm between those who believe that divine revelation is real and its authority binding over time
and those who believe the Church has the authority to correct divine revelation according to the more nuanced knowledge of the human condition that contemporary Catholics putatively possess
the bishop stated that his “task is to serve unity…in such a mixed situation” – a concept of episcopacy and its relationship to the truth of Catholic faith that would have puzzled St
Athanasius during his battle with Arianism
Augustine during his contest with the Donatists
Charles Borromeo during his heroic efforts to reform the archdiocese of Milan after the Council of Trent
John Fisher while confronting the pusillanimity of his episcopal brethren in England at the time of King Henry VIII
Can a local bishop who does not understand that his first responsibility is to teach and defend the settled convictions of the Church – what Pope St
John XXIII called the “Sacred Deposit of Faith” in opening the Second Vatican Council – adequately serve the universal Church as prefect of the curial office charged with precisely that same responsibility
The bishop’s letter also includes a sympathetic narration of the distress felt by some during a September 2022 Synodal Way Assembly
when a resolution calling for the radical reconsideration of the Church’s ethic of human love failed to gain the necessary votes:
Some just sat mute and petrified at their tables
A small group met in the middle of the hall and quickly grew
put their arms over their neighbor’s shoulders
a young woman collapsed in a corner of the hall
She herself is a victim of sexualized violence in the Church; for years she had been abused by a priest
Did the Synodal Way fail in these dramatic hours
like other local churches throughout the world
failed for years to get to grips with the grave sin and crime of clerical sexual abuse is not a subject for rational debate
Those failures happened; they inflicted deep and open wounds on the Mystical Body of Christ; transparency is essential about those failures and their causes (which include the collapse of discipline in post-conciliar seminaries and houses of religious formation and the deconstruction of Catholic moral theology in those years)
But to weaponize the suffering of the victims of clerical sexual abuse in order to advance an agenda that progressive German Catholicism advocated for decades before the abuse crisis broke into public view is deplorable
Yet is that not precisely what Bishop Wilmer does when
he states that “it has become clear that we need significant changes in sexual morality in the Catholic Church.” Indeed
But the entire context of the bishop’s letter suggests that what he means by “significant changes in sexual morality in the Catholic Church” is not a rebirth of chastity that includes a reaffirmation of the good of sexual love within the bond of marriage
but a change in teaching that affirms sexual relations which revelation and reason teach us are not life-giving
Thus the bishop wrote that he “welcome[d] the fact that the Synodal Way is in favor of establishing a working group to develop a manual for blessing celebrations for same-sex couples as well as remarried divorcees.”
How can a bishop who welcomes this development lead a curial dicastery that recently declared that such blessings were impossible
The bishop’s letter contains more curiosities
“we have begun to fill pastoral positions with people who have not studied theology or religious education but instead have [matriculated in] cultural studies
or architecture.” Given the current state of German theology
this may perhaps be considered a blessing for the diocese
But it beggars the imagination that a bishop who seemingly demeans the importance of sound theology for effective pastoral work could be appointed the head of the Roman office that is charged with nourishing dynamically orthodox theology throughout the universal Church
in his diocese “the core area of private life is no longer subject to legal evaluation;” that this zone of inviolable privacy “includes
relationship life…;” and that “we have already made the corresponding changes…in the regulations for the conferral of the Missio Canonica with regard to teachers of religion.” Which is to say that people objectively living in grave sin
and thus not in full communion with the Church
can receive from Bishop Wilmer a canonical mission to teach as a Catholic religious educator
How could such a bishop possibly be considered as prefect of the Dicastery for the Doctrine of the Faith
Bishop Wilmer urges the Diocese of Hildesheim to be open to “…the Holy Spirit
contradict what the Spirit has already taught the Church through divine revelation
That would not be a “surprise;” it would be the complete and utter dissolution of the Jewish and Christian concept of God
If the appointment of Bishop Wilmer to the position once held by Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger is made
it would not only be a mortal insult to the memory and legacy of Pope Benedict XVI
all the cards would be face up on the table
and there could be no denying that what is at stake in the next papal transition is the fidelity of the Catholic Church to divine revelation and the apostolic tradition

The people this priest describes as breaking into tears and one passing out sound as though they have significant mental issues and need therapy
But that is not a good reason to change church teaching
It should be obvious that if such folk find catholic teaching unpalatable
there are literally thousands of super liberal churches where “anything goes”
But such sexual excess should not be expected to be accepted by the faithful who know that such actions are in fact wrong and sinful. This is an exceedingly slippery slope
and I hope I am dead by the time there is a push for acceptance of polygamy and bestiality
Some prohibitions are pronounced by the church as wrong
and are NOT a matter of conscience to be decided by individuals
Bishop Wilmer is lip syncing the false wisdom dropping from the lips of Cardinal Hollerich
and from Bishop Bats-sing (who surely has a role in parceling out the state church tax)
after having done his business on your front lawn
then does a 180 to kick grass over the droppings
with the sexual abuse crisis in Germany–turn human sexual morality completely around so as to kick aromatic verbiage over recent history
also invert the Vatican reminder that schismatic Germany is betraying the universal Catholic Church
the “task is to serve unity…in such a mixed situation.” The barking Wilmer asspires to be the “bark” of Peter
Is the Roman Catholic Church serious about following Jesus
“Unity” means ABSOLUTELY NOTHING when it means unity with men and women who reject the commandments of Jesus
and unity with Bishops who would silently accept unity with apostates for the sake of counting heads
It is no surprise that the Church is now under the control of apostates
Robert Imbelli in his essay “No Decapitated Body.”
the open threat to officially promote and/or allow apostasy
is what happens when our Church started ordaining and promoting openly apostate Bishops in the 1970s
among these many openly apostate German Bishops
who denies the bodily resurrection of Jesus
On what possible grounds can our Catholic Church ask to be taken seriously
when its pontiffs have promoted and ordained apostate Bishops
granting apostolic teaching authority to outlaws who deny the Gospel and the Creed
On what grounds can the Church ask to be taken seriously
Why would you ever believe that the Catholic Church could deny what She has always taught as if the 1960’s was the beginning of true Catholicism because this is exactly what Catholics have been deceived into believing
and contradictions about so many of the dogmas of the faith is its modis operandi and none of this can ever be said about true Catholicism
These people are not members of the Catholic Church but members of a counterfeit church with an anti-Catholic religion as its foundation
As I recall: The commandments of Jesus are two: Love God above all else and Love your neighbor as yourself
Yes and warning your neighbor of sin is loving your neighbor
It’s a spiritual work of mercy…recall ‘Go and sin no more.’
what you alluded to is a gloss of “The Greatest Commandment,” which is recounted in the Gospels of Matthew
Jesus affirmed (in answering the lawyer) “the greatest and first commandment” is “You shall love God with all your heart and all your soul and all your mind and all your strength.” And Jesus said that “the second is like it
‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ On these two hang all the law and the prophets.” (Matt 22) And in Mark’s account
Jesus ends by saying “There is no commandment greater than these.” (Mark 12)
Jesus is saying that these are greater than all of the other commandments
and thereby reminding us that there are other commandments
Jesus declared “Do not think that I have come to abolish the Law and the Prophets
I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them.” And then Jesus set about to start adding even more commandments
as the law-giver who declared himself “greater than Moses.” And the commandments he gives are recognized to be very demanding
Jesus declares: “You have heard that it was said
‘You shall not commit adultery.’ But I say to you that every one who looks at a woman lustfully has already committed adultery with her in his heart.” (Matt 5: 27-28) That is a very strict commandment
and is what Jesus commands about our sexual behavior
And then Jesus adds another very demanding commandment: “You have heard it said: ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ But I say
love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you
that you may be children of your Father in heaven
Do not even tax collectors…and pagans do that
as your heavenly Father is perfect.”
Jesus doles out a lot of very stern commandments
that the Bishop called “His Excellency Wilmer,” and other Bishops like him
such as “His Eminence McElroy” and “His Eminence Hollerich,” etc etc etc
The evil one’s greatest victory is within reach
A fitting end for a church that stood by while more than a billion children were being butchered over the past fifty years
forgive us for our fecklessness and our hypocrisy
Are you personally involved in any of this “fecklessness and hypocrisy”
Then what would you need Jesus to forgive you for
Isn’t it the responsibility of those who are involved in this fecklessness and hypocrisy to admit it
and vow to sin no more so that then they may ask for Jesus’ forgiveness
We’re all involved in one way or another
If we lie to ourselves to pretend we’re not
then that is one way in which we are involved
Bishop Wilmer pens a letter full of apostasy and error
Instead of being warned about his beliefs and told to take time off to reconsider his thoughts he will probably be promoted
Catholics who hold to the truths of the faith which are pronounced unequivocally in the ancient mass are demonised and persecuted because the church hierarchy no longer holds to its theology
This is the chastisement Our Lady warned us about at Fatima
but it will come from the hands of Our Lady
Simply following the “spirit of Vatican II” and of all of the leaders since then
There is no “spirit of Vatican II”
they do not include any of what is being promoted by this pontificate
The interpretations have been the issue and do not in anyway support Wilhmer
Weigel columns these days stems from his failure to take on Francis directly
He knows full well of his many outrages and never says anything
I read all his books prior to his fantasies about “the next pope,” which seemed to have been written as though a return to stable orthodoxy is a near certainty
Criticisms around the edges do not suffice during the most ominous time in Church history
“still in the process of learning how to be God,” spread confusion and misery among His creation for thousands of years by instilling in them a natural sense of a coherent family unit upon which a greater society would be built but this Supreme Being was ultimately mistaken
interested in torturing His creation with endless moral confusion just for His own amusement
who led His creation to where it is impossible to understand right from wrong with the proper ordering of their biological nature
willing to sort through God’s shortcomings
Germany is a pagan country not least due to most Catholic bishops there having apostacized
‘Conservatives’ – You’re Rad Trads
It was within weeks that Bishop McElroy was elevated before he spoke the quiet part out loud regarding the synod on synodality
confessing it “gives the liberals in the church the opportunity to complete the revolution they began at Vatican 2”
I can’t help but ponder the message given by Our Lord to Sister Marie de St
Pierre that due to offenses against the Holy Name of God and the command to keep the Sabbath holy
the world would suffer the “chastisement of revolutionary men”
Karl Marx published his Communist Manifesto
The world has suffered revolutionary men ever since
only You have the words of eternal life”
Someone recently commented on CWR whether Papa should be asked if he is a homosexual
Papa’s silence is thundering on this heretical matter
This seems to me to be the same old … same old…pharisees vs Christ: Any new approach based on further knowledge frightens the bejesus out of the old school
As the RC church moves forward some will stay behind
Don’t old fashioned Jews still go to the Wailing Wall
The Tree of Life needs the unchanging trunk but that trunk would die too in the absence of new leaves bringing fresh sunshine
chemicals etc from leaf to root so that growth can continue
So human beings never delude themselves and call it “new knowledge”
How are value judgments a question a “knowledge” in the first place
And how can God change His mind about truth
And when did Jesus ever contradict received moral truth
Don’t confuse morality with ritual now
No need for coded speech and vague allusions
Genesis,,,And God created man to his own image: to the image of God he created him: male and female he created them
I didn’t have time the other day for a longer answer
but your understanding of the conflict of visions between Our Lord and the Pharisees is a reversal of Christian reality
Yours is a secular belief in inevitable progress based on a faith and trust in elitist superiority
who were essentially more like secular progressives in their day than people of authentic faith
condemned Our Lord for undermining their dominant capricious rituals by His preaching the eternal
Progressives have always sought to reimage Jesus as one of them
a non-elitist because He reminded us what is placed in every heart to know
is immutable because it comes exclusively from God
Our Lord’s preaching is a rebuke to the human vanity that needs to treat truth as fungible for those seeking the prestige of innovation or for those seeking to avoid impeachment from moral truths that never change
A devastating laying out of what is at sake here
If this man is indeed made head of what we used to call the CDF then all the cards
There can be no hiding behind any of the usual fig leaves this time
“If this man” is elevated then the cards are face up
Only fools have either refused to see them or have pretended they are still face down
I agree with the comment above – Weigel and others go to great lengths not to address the real issue explixitly
The cards have been face up for longer than 10 years
Maybe the Protestants aren’t so crazy after all
In the face of all this craziness the only thing we can really trust is the Bible
Popes can dismiss previous magisterial teaching and reform the Catechism
but God’s Word is forever and unchangeable
Besides all the hundreds of opportunistic translations that were made during and after the protestant “reformation”
a number of books of the Bible were dropped by the protestants
They didn’t think they were “inspired”
For “unchanging scriptures” you go to the Vulgate
the oldest extant copies in Hebrew and Greek
Even if that simplistic apologetical trope was true
Surely not the liquid magisterium of the present pontificate
Have you ever listened to some apologists endlessly arguing Church documents (watch an old Gerry Matatics debate)
It’s mind numbing and soul crushing because at the end of the day one can simply say…the present Pope doesn’t believe or teach that
and there you are left standing there with a Church document that has been robbed of its authority by the supreme authority in the Church
It’s much harder to do that with the Bible
I’d rather stick with the Bible which we know is inspired by the third Person of the Holy Trinity
Notice when anyone wants to refute the German Bishops or Francis or question Biden’s reception of Communion they usually go straight to Scripture
Because we implicitly know there is something very special about it and that its authority is unparalleled
So…when in doubt go to the Bible and in that perhaps the Protestants are on to something
Yet protestants changed/change God’s Word
Martin Luther wanted to remove God’s Word
Protestantism goes back to John 6 when disciples no longer walked with Jesus
The German bishops are doing the same thing
How you answer the question will determine what is the greater authority in your spiritual life…also notice that in this we know the Bible will never command anything that goes against God
Nope the choice is….do I listen to God’s Word
Tradition and the teaching Authority of the Catholic Church
Or….do I listen to a protestant’s unbiblical word of sola scriptura
I think I’m gonna go with God on this
But then we have the Pope himself saying that divorced and remarried Catholics can receive Communion in some cases
in clear contradiction of Jesus’ own words in the Gospel of Matthew and St
Paul’s admonition against receiving Communion unworthily
Even the plain language of Scripture is no impediment to those bent on fomenting revolution
But notice that you went to Scripture to disprove Francis’ ideas
The Protestant bible was deliberately amended to fit Luthers heresy
and is continually misinterpreted by Protestants to fit their own ideas
which is why there are thousands of Protestant sects
I’m certainly not defending this Pope but looking to protestants is not the answer
we won’t even be able to trust the Bible
It will be interpreted in accordance with the spirit of the age and in a manner that fits with one’s preferences and prejudices
it will mean whatever one wants it to mean
This seems to me to be the same old … same old…pharisees vs Christ
The Pharisees went wrong by placing man-made doctrines ahead of God’s revelation — just like the ‘Synodal Way’ crowd
“If the appointment of Bishop Wilmer to the position once held by Cardinal Joseph Ratzinger is made
it would not only be a mortal insult to the memory and legacy of Pope Benedict XVI.”
These are *heretics* in conversation with the devil
the bishops of the world will grow a spine

And yet in an illustrated manuscript dating from the early 11th century that was commissioned by the Bishop Bernward of Hildesheim in the Holy Roman Empire
Mar y touches Christ's foot in the noli me tangere scene
It's an utter violation of the gospel's command
"This image is one of the few that has been studied [and it is] extremely unusual because this scene by definition is about not touching," says Jennifer P
the assistant director of Johns Hopkins' interdisciplinary Program in Museums and Society
Kingsley explores that question in her debut book
and the Episcopate in Medieval Germany (Pennsylvania State University Press
The book is a considerable expansion of the research she conducted for her dissertation
which focused on Bernward as an arts patron
which today is a city of nearly 100,000 people in central Germany
was educated at cathedral schools (the prototypes of medieval universities)
Hildesheim was a powerful hub in the Holy Roman Empire
He founded the Benedictine Monks of Saint Michael's Abbey and started construction on the Church of Saint Michael's
today a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage site
which wasn't completed until after his death in 1022
has a column sculpture depicting 28 scenes from Christ's life and bronze doors that are considered medieval masterpieces and frequently included in art history surveys
"I remember that being one of the things people told me when I started my dissertation work: Make sure you choose a topic that can sustain your interest over time because you will be living with it for a while." She found that in the Bernward Gospels
not only visually because of the densely layered ornament but also in terms of its subject matter
That was the most gratifying aspect of the project because that is to me what distinguishes art history as a discipline: the process of looking in a sustained way and over a long time

a no-caddie "self-round" golf course has been established
is optimized for no-caddie rounds for both courses and services
and has the appearance of a smart golf course with an autonomous cart system
The self-round of golfing without caddies can be said to be a "challenge" in the domestic golf course industry
many golfers are already used to golf with help from caddies
as the caddy increased to the point where he felt the cost burden seriously
demands and desires for a self-round of "no caddy" increased in proportion to that
the first golf course in the central region to advocate a no-caddie self-round was created
It is a Eumseong Hildesheim Country Club with 27 holes (par 108
9622m long) on 1.02 million square meters of land in Husam-ro
Korea's leading women's golf course designer
joined forces to create a course that will be called a "revolution" for a domestic golf course
which was created with self-rounding in mind since its design
has been optimized for no-caddie rounds in all areas
it is the birth of a smart golf course equipped with a golf course and an autonomous cart system that will become a new standard for the domestic golf industry
Hildesheim first made it possible to operate electric carts comfortably without caddies
Safety was secured by minimizing long travel sections as well as steep slopes and sharp turns
It also shortens the travel time to the next hole to allow more time to play
since it is an autonomous cart that moves only at a constant speed
it has solved safety problems caused by inexperienced driving and is convenient because there is no steering wheel
All you need to do is press the start and stop buttons
It can also be moved by manipulating the remote control
spread like a fan around the clubhouse to create a panorama
which can be seen from any point in the hall
The course design does not cause much inconvenience even if you play the round without a caddy
not only was the point where the tee shot ball fell wide and comfortable
but he also tried not to make a blind hole as much as possible
It is a measure that makes it easy to recognize one's cheeks from a distance
The course's up-down was also minimized to reduce the time to find the ball
Bunkers were minimally created only with visual beauty or roles to adjust the difficulty level when attacking and functions for the direction of the shot
allowing golfers to choose widely according to their skills
Green ruled out the slope or bend as much as possible so that the golfer could easily read the putt line by his own judgment
the speed of the well-managed greens made it possible to control the putting difficulty
The course was created for a comfortable self-round
This is because it did not overlook the strategic part so that all 14 clubs could perform well
and Irish green par 3 holes (Lake Course 2
and Valley Course 3) are created for each course
making it very interesting visually and strategically
six of the nine holes are adjacent to Lake
four holes are strategically arranged in one large lake
The valley course has a hole crossing the valley
which is at the highest of the golf course
Six artificial ponds have been built in the golf course
is a signature hall representing the golf course
As soon as the golfer enters the lobby of the clubhouse
he is moved by the spectacular scenery in front of him
The cool waterfalls that fall vertically from the rock wall across the pond make golfers' hearts flutter
