Blondshell’s second record If You Asked For A Picture is a triumph
has released her sophomore album and it’s every bit as thrilling and wonderful as her self-titled debut
which came out in 2023 and impressed me so much that I knew I would continue to follow her career
and what a smart decision that was from me
because her follow-up album is sensational
The album’s title comes from a poem titled Dogfish
This album is also very much about giving us snippets into her life and mind.
While the two records are similar in sound and style
If You Asked For A Picture is more introspective and interior
which is a wonderful acoustic led song with vivid imagery and memorable lines
“You’re a thumbtack in my side/A dog bite/You distract/From what’s worse so I will let you/Keep a ball chain on my leg” She sings during the chorus
which is definitely one that stays with you.
My personal highlight from the album is a track titled T&A
it was released as a single earlier in the year
and a definite contender for one of the best singles released this year
The guitar work throughout the track is spectacular
Her voice is clear and concise; the production is clean and crispy
Watching him fall/Watching him go right in front of me”Teitelbaum sings in the chorus
It’s one that I imagine will be incredible live
It’s very tongue-in-cheek and almost funny at times
One of my favourite things about Blondshell as an artist is the fact that when you’re listening to her songs
you occasionally do a double take with your ears
Artists that have courage to say what they truly want are so deeply important to the industry
“I don’t wanna be your mom/But you’re not strong enough” she opens the song boldly
It seems to be a song for girls everywhere
and a warning not to try to save and fix people
save him.” She sings together with stunning backing vocals.
one of the most candid songs on the album is What’s Fair, also a single
about a mother-daughter relationship that appears to be a little estranged
but lyrically it’s actually quite sad at times
and talks about a mother that is over-critical
What’s a fair assessment of the job you did
Do you ever even regret it?” It feels like new territory
It’s almost like a stream of consciousness
“I’ll come back if you put me down two times/You try hard to make me yours/But once you get me
I get bored/I’ll come back if you put me down two times” Teitelbaum sings somewhat leisurely
and it really shows how vocally talented she is.
A running theme on the album is growing up
or looking back at your younger days and ruminating
especially on tracks such as Event of a Fire and 23’s a Baby
Teitelbaum said: ‘The song is partially about being in your twenties and feeling like you’re supposed to know everything (your parents even had kids around that age!) yet you’re truly in the weeds trying to figure out who you are
I wanted it to have a bit of a nursery rhyme feel
It’s a heavy subject so it was important to have fun when we made it.’
If You Asked For A Picture is a deeply candid and confident record
but it doesn’t shy away from asking important questions.

Horn Barbecue Elk Grove is officially open
bringing Matt Horn’s nationally acclaimed barbecue to the Central Valley with more smoke
The James Beard-nominated pitmaster—known for redefining West Coast barbecue—opened the new location on Saturday
taking over the former Slow & Low space on Railroad Street with an expanded menu
and a 100-seat patio made for live music and long afternoons
The Elk Grove restaurant marks the first expansion of Horn’s flagship and signals a new phase of growth for his AH2 Hospitality Group
“Elk Grove presents an ideal opportunity to grow our brand and contribute to the community,” Horn says
“This is part of our long-term vision—to expand into key markets where we can deliver an authentic and elevated barbecue experience
and open up new opportunities for collaboration and innovation.”
On the menu: all the hits
and cornbread that channel generations of Southern cooking
whole chicken and scratch-made milkshakes—boozy or not—add playful
“Elk Grove gives us the space to innovate without sacrificing the tradition that defines our barbecue,” Horn explains
and introducing menu elements that expand what barbecue can be—while keeping the soul of it intact.”
a serious bar program and live music on the patio
this is more than a line-up-and-wait kind of spot
Horn plans to make use of that expanded format with collaborative events and guest pitmaster appearances
“We’ve created a place that reflects the local community,” says Horn
and it brings people together the way barbecue always has.”
This new location in Elk Grove carries that legacy forward—while offering Horn a chance to keep evolving his style of California-born

The geopolitical landscape of the Middle East and North Africa is increasingly shaped by the relationships between various state and non-state actors
fueled by their Muslim Brotherhood doctrine
have positioned themselves as supporters of certain Islamist movements
These alliances threaten regional security and stability
particularly concerning the ongoing conflict in the Horn of Africa
with deepening crises particularly in Sudan and Somalia
Qatar has cultivated relationships with a range of Islamist groups
often promoting political Islam as a counter-narrative to authoritarian regimes in the region
which has engaged in a prolonged conflict against the Saudi-led coalition
Qatar’s backing often includes financial support
and media outlets like Al-Jazeera that amplify their narratives
Qatar’s involvement with Al-Shabaab has been more complex
While the group is classified as a terrorist organization
Qatar has also been known to support various factions within the Somali government
aiming to stabilize the region while simultaneously countering the influence of rival groups
This dual approach complicates the local political landscape and often exacerbates existing tensions
Turkey has emerged as a key ally of Qatar in supporting various Islamist movements
Its military and logistical support often includes advanced weaponry and training
further empowering groups like the Houthis and Al-Shabaab
Turkey’s strategic interests in these regions align with its broader ambitions to project power and influence in the Islamic world
Turkey has provided humanitarian assistance and military supplies to the Houthis
viewing their struggle as part of a broader resistance against Saudi hegemony in the region
Turkey has invested heavily in the Somali National Army and infrastructure projects
while also reportedly providing support to factions aligned with Al-Shabaab
Both Qatar and Turkey have historically supported the Muslim Brotherhood and its offshoots across the Arab world
viewing them as legitimate political actors
This alignment has fostered a network of Islamist groups that share ideologies and goals
leading to increased collaboration among them
the influence of the Muslim Brotherhood has been particularly significant
with factions vying for power amid the ongoing conflict
The Brotherhood’s legacy in Sudan dates back decades
and its members have played crucial roles in various governments
the current conflict between the Islamist SAF and the secular Rapid Support Forces (RSF) has further divided the political landscape
Qatar and Turkey’s support for Islamist factions complicates the situation
as these groups often have competing interests and allegiances
Egypt’s fragile domestic situation is often overlooked
While former President Mohammed Morsi only enjoyed limited rule
nearly 60 percent of Egypt’s 110 million people are known to support the Muslim Brotherhood
This influences the Al-Sisi government’s relationship with Hamas
primarily between the Islamist SAF and secular RSF
both of which have historical ties to Islamist movements
The ongoing violence has created a humanitarian crisis
with millions displaced and in need of assistance
Qatar’s financial support for various factions has sometimes been perceived as an attempt to maintain influence over Sudan’s transitional government
Turkey’s military assistance and political backing have bolstered certain groups
This foreign involvement raises questions about the long-term stability of Sudan and the potential for a resolution to the conflict
Somalia’s Al-Shabaab is sponsored by Qatari funds
and trained on the ground by the Iranians – and they are about to take over Somalia; Mogadishu is in danger of falling within a matter of weeks
will control a major Muslim majority African country
is a mixture of the highest strategic importance and many interests – commercial
and military – by the great powers from the West to the East
If Somalia and Eritrea fall to the extremists
Ethiopia will be dangerously exposed and left to fend for itself
Ethiopia represents the last country standing to fight for security and stability in the Horn of Africa
Western sanctions must be lifted from Ethiopia and it must be equipped financially and militarily to lead the fight against the Islamists
needs to support them with intelligence as part of a strategic alliance between Addis Ababa
there is no difference between the SAF and Sudanese Army General Abdel Fattah al-Burhan
a direct descendant of Sudan’s pro-terror leader Omar al-Bashir
These leaders are Muslim Brotherhood to the core and are being financed today by Qatar
The Islamist SAF is in a bitter battle with the RSF which is doing its best to prevent Sudan from falling to the Muslim Brotherhood
They recognize what will happen to Sudan if the country falls to the Islamists
Once the Muslim Brotherhood controls Sudan and they push into Egypt from the south
the Brotherhood in Egypt will join with the Brotherhood in Khartoum
It is not far-fetched to assess that this dangerous development could result in Al-Shabaab and the Brotherhood controlling Egypt with the full arsenal of the Egyptian military
Turkey will find its way through Syria and threaten Israel from the north
sandwiching the Jewish state between Egypt and Turkey
This constitutes a strategic and even existential threat to Israel’s future
and Sudan underscores the complexity of these growing asymmetric subversion in the Red Sea and wider Middle East region
they not only shape local dynamics but also contribute to ongoing instability
characterized by its multifaceted conflicts and competing interests
reflects the broader challenges confronting the Horn of Africa and the Middle East
a concerted international effort will be essential to address the root causes of these conflicts and foster genuine pathways to stability
— Razorbacks fans have been so deep in their natural state of doom and gloom after Arkansas lost three straight SEC series that they probably haven't absorbed the true impact of this past weekend's sweep of the Texas Longhorns
Not only are the Hogs within two games of Texas for the SEC crown
but they are two games ahead of the closest competition in LSU and Georgia
That means Arkansas is about as close to a lock for a double bye in the SEC Tournament as they can be at this point
the sweep put the Razorbacks atop the SEC in overall wins and secured yet another 40+ win season under head coach Dave Van Horn
This is Van Horn's 16th 40-win season at Arkansas and the eighth consecutive season that will be completed to reach that many wins
Arkansas started 11-5 in 2020 before that season was shut down because of COVID
"We needed to win the series," Van Horn said
About the time you think you've got it figured out
somebody will get you three times on the weekend
We just kept hanging in there to find a way to win another game
something Arkansas has only done once under Van Horn
it should have more significance than the last time it happened
but lost to NC State in the Super Regional after blowing out the Wolfpack 21-2 in the opening game
Arkansas' two most successful recent seasons came in 2018 when the Hogs were a dropped fly ball from winning the College World Series
and 2022 when Arkansas got beat twice by an Ole Miss team that barely made the tournament to miss out playing in the CWS championship series eventually won by the Rebels
That loss dropped the Hogs to 46-21 and sent the program into a postseason tailspin that has led to less playoff success each season
culminating with Arkansas not even making the finals of its own regional last year
the Razorbacks should win at least one game in each of its two remaining series and one in the SEC Tournament
working with the idea the Hogs will have at least three wins heading into the playoffs
it will take three to get out of the regional and two more to advance from the super regional
That puts Arkansas at 48 wins heading into the College World Series
the Razorbacks will need to collect five wins to claim a championship
putting the Hogs at a minimum of 53 wins for the year
That would break the 51-win records of the 1985 team that was honored this weekend and the 1987 team that ties that record shortly after
It would also mean accomplishing something either of those two loaded rosters were unable to accomplish — winning a championship
that's all a lot of wishful thinking at this point
Arkansas just won its first SEC series in a month
even if it was a sweep over the nation's No
The real test as to whether the Razorbacks are back on track will come as LSU and Tennessee close the season for the Hogs
then will come the time for fans and players to dream of program records and championships

The rise of the Colorado Buffaloes football program has been incredible
and Deion Sanders played a major role in that
Sanders took a team rooted to the bottom of college football and turned them into a program that every NFL team is watching. Jimmy Horn Jr. and LaJohntay Wester were drafted on Day 3 of the 2025 NFL Draft
with an opportunity to make a name for themselves in the NFL
Colorado hadn’t had a player drafted since 2021
when tackle Will Sherman was taken in the sixth round
He was the only player drafted by the program in the past four seasons
Coach Prime has turned that program into a genuine opportunity for its players
with a national spotlight cast on them year-round
The Hall of Famer has enlisted the help of several other NFL legends
further adding to the ever-growing draw of playing for Colorado
Warren Sapp is coaching on defense while Marshall Faulk coaches the running backs
Thanks to the hard work and dedication of Sanders and the coaches running the program
Colorado had four players drafted in the 2025 NFL draft
After Sanders was finally drafted in the fifth round
Colorado had two receivers go off the board within five picks of one another in round six
Horn has a tremendous relationship with Coach Sanders
who has acted as a father figure for the wide receiver while with the program
The two have visited Horn’s father in prison together
Coach Prime walked out with his arm around the talented playmaker to show his support
In the Buffaloes’ latest YouTube video, centered around the draft prospects
Horn spoke about his relationship with his coach: “Coach Prime did a lot of things for me behind closed doors that he didn’t have to do
and he too spoke of the opportunities that transferring to Colorado presented:
It really molded me into the player that I am today
Horn was drafted by the Panthers, who are looking to continue adding playmakers as they build around Bryce Young
Horn played over 94% of his college snaps out of the slot
amassing 1,973 receiving yards and 11 touchdowns in his four-year career
Wester spent the first four seasons of his college career at FAU
having been a zero-star recruit coming out of high school
He had a breakout year in 2023 with a career-high 1,164 receiving yards and scored eight touchdowns
He then transferred to Colorado for the 2024 season
He transferred to prove he could be a role player in a high-volume offense
Wester caught 70 passes for 880 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns in his lone season with the Buffaloes
He was drafted by the Baltimore Ravens, where he’ll have an opportunity to contribute on special teams early on. He may also see offensive reps as a backup to Zay Flowers
5 University of Arkansas baseball team handled top-ranked Texas with ease Thursday night at Baum-Walker Stadium
The shutout ended Texas' 10-game winning streak
with seven of those wins coming in SEC play
15-7 SEC) is now a half-game ahead of third-place LSU in the SEC standings and is four behind the Longhorns (38-6
The Hogs improved 28-3 at home this season and is 3-0 against Texas at Fayetteville under Coach Dave Van Horn
Arkansas handed Texas its first shutout of the season
while scoring the most runs Texas has given up in an SEC matchup
The Hogs extended their lead to 9-0 by the fifth inning
Cam Kozeal and Ryder Helfrick both hit what could've been run-rule walk-off home runs to the warning track in the seventh and eighth innings
that didn't hurt us at all because we got to practice as a full team," Arkansas Coach Van Horn said of what a midweek cancellation of a game at Missouri State allowed
"We did it in the indoor because it was raining
The team got to be a team because a lot of times you're separated and then you're just playing all these games."
Texas hitters were subdued throughout the game by Arkansas left-handed starter Zach Root
Root showcased his longest outing at the perfect time -- the first Razorback to pitch six innings in a little over a month
Root struck out his new career-best 11 batters through 8 innings of 2-hit ball on 99 pitches
The lefty's breaking balls ravaged Texas' lineup on two-strike counts
"Uh no," Root said in response to if another career moment matched Thursday
Although both are ranked in the top five teams and at the top of the SEC
Texas and Arkansas headed into Thursday battling injuries
The Longhorns have lost ace pitcher Jared Spencer and last year's Big 12 Player of the Year
remained at designated hitter while easing back from an injury
Arkansas right fielder Logan Maxwell and second baseman Gabe Fraser ultimately did not play
Van Horn said on the pregame radio show that Fraser's back region has been bothering him the most
and backup Reese Robinett played first base flawlessly
"We're the walking wounded right now," Van Horn said
who transferred to Arkansas from the Division II Lincoln (Tenn.) Memorial
is an interchangeable backup piece in the outfield and made up the improvised right side of the defense that has scarcely been used this season
"I think a lot of guys in the dugout think he should be playing more,"Hogs Coach Dave Van Horn said
"It's been tough not putting his name in the lineup every now and then to be honest with you
And I can tell they really pull for him because he doesn't say anything about not playing
Boles hasn't gotten a constant rhythm of at-bats all season
but he has been a key substitution with an ailing Logan Maxwell
The latter has almost tripled the number of at-bats
But Boles drilled his second homer of 2025 into the Hog Pen in left field during the second inning to kick off the scoring
Texas starter Ruger Riojas began the game with an efficient four outs on 13 pitches
smacked a first-pitch double to finally put some pressure on
the Razorbacks tacked on three more extra-base hits on Ruger Riojas and charged the right-hander with nine runs
The most he had given up was three heading into Thursday
Riojas rotated in an eephus pitch to Charles Davalan
Davalan struck out swinging and was the only Hog without a hit
"I can't remember the last time I saw one," Van Horn said of the pitch
First one looked like the ball just slipped out of his hand
Riojas was a Saturday and Sunday pitcher before Jared Spencer's injury and has taken over the Friday night role the past two weekends
Last weekend during a sweep of Texas A&M
Cam Kozeal golfed a home run 411 feet on a full-count pitch to blow the game open at 5-0
it was like a Wiffle Ball pitch," Kozeal said
The shortstop and team-leader in home runs later doubled in the at-bat to make it 8-0 in the fourth
followed suit to score the game's last run

CHARLOTTE — Jimmy Horn Jr. is fearless
you know," Horn preached Saturday night after being drafted No
Playing ball in the neighborhood with my friends
and you can't play football scared; that's how I can explain it in the easiest way."
gets his draft call - drafted from the Panthers #208 overall in the 6th round
Playing fearless and free helped Horn pull in 67 receptions for 959 yards and four touchdowns in two years at South Florida
then transfer to Colorado under Deion Sanders and a total of 95 receptions for 1,008 yards and seven touchdowns in two years with the Buffaloes
Those numbers were picked up while playing behind Heisman Trophy winner and No
With one of the best players of a generation in front of him on the depth chart and a 5-10 170-pound stature
Horn knew he'd have to find other ways to stand out in the receiving corps
So he leaned on what got him on the football field in the first place
"You just can't be scared out there on the field
and you have to be able to think under pressure," Horn explained
and you just got to be fearless while you play it
You know the consequences that come with something behind it
so you just got to be ready to deal with it
speak to the media after being drafted 208th overall to the Panthers
Even with four years of tape from which to pull
there is one game—and play—that Horn posits as the best example of his "fearless" style
It came in Week 9 when the Buffs faced the Cincinnati Bearcats
and Horn finished with five questions for 78 yards
and raced down the sideline for what would've been a 58-yard touchdown if not called back for a penalty
that's their favorite thing to look for," said Horn
"I got my size crossing across the field and running like it was
and I just ran to the other side of the field and I had got a big gain off of that
Horn has also been a full-time kick returner
he added punt returns to his resume as well
he returned the ball 11 times for 210 years with a long of 61 yards
coaches and teams talked with Horn about the NFL's new kickoff rule and how he might be implemented
"Coaches would tell me to just watch film and study the game more so I could get a better feel for it
I ain't got it all figured out yet," Horn admitted
but I'm like from the standpoint I view it if I get a good gap that I know I can hit it through
Horn and McMillan crossed paths at the combine
and "We're just on the elevator vibing," joked Horn
"I never knew we were going to cross paths again
and it's a blessing to be playing with him

Following an injury to Jared Spencer, somebody new has taken the mound for series openers. Ruger Riojas went out there against Arkansas, hoping to get Texas a win against an old rival
there was a moment that caused a buzz around Baum-Walker Stadium

Van Horn was in good spirits because Arkansas wound up performing well against Riojas. He was gone from the game before the fourth inning was over, only getting 11 outs. All nine of Arkansas’ runs were charged to his name, allowing seven hits and walking another while striking out just four. The Razorbacks got two home runs off Riojas as well.

The odds of Arkansas seeing Riojas again this season remain slim. He is out for the final two games of this series, needed next Friday for Texas’ penultimate SEC series of the series against Florida. Maybe if there is a postseason matchup between the two squads whether it be in Hoover for the SEC Tournament or in Omaha in the College World Series.
The eephus will be at the top of mind for Arkansas if they do get to face Riojas a second time, though. Van Horn admitted it can get into a batter’s head considering how awkward the pitch is. Well over 40 miles per hour below what guys usually see inside the box.
Starting this series off with a win was massive for Arkansas. Chasing down Texas for the SEC regular season championship is not going to be easy. No better way to make ground than beating them head-to-head. Two more massive games remain in Fayetteville.

That’s Sextile in a nutshell – having recently toured with label mates Molchat Doma
their records arrive designed to get you to groove and dance; upbeat and cheerful
It’s an album that demonstrates what it means to be alive – showing how far you can push yourself and push yourself to the limits
Including a intro that’s just over one minute
the thirteen track record is firing on all cylinders
Freak Eyes is an early highlight – three tracks in – recalling house parties in New York where tracks were played with the ability to grind conversations to a halt
It’s a telltale sign of a good band that can get you dancing no matter what you’re talking about and Sextile look set to join those bands – the emotion and the energy that’s felt here and the pressure of getting something out there in the world can feel overwhelming at times
It’s a song that feels designed to get the party started in the best way with a rich; raw bassline and intoxicating techno rhythm – all about living life to the extreme.
The band enlist Jehnny Beth for vocals on Push-Ups
bass that hoovers up the energy around it amped up with synth that feels off the wall addictive and muscular
If the band set up a mission statement of getting the party started they did just that – it’s impossible not to dance to this record no matter where you are
Politics are tackled in a way that feels timely and relevant as well – abortion rights are highlighted in Resist
the band’s protest song – angry and furious – and everything comes to a head in Kids
Never has synth felt more stylish – and the ability to explore teen angst and growing pains with introspective wordplay really show the bands’ growth since Push – and this time you get Automatic’s Izzy Glaudini on board as well – freeing up Yes Please for a liberating
I like how Penny Rose tackles US education; AI and the influence of future generations
It feels like a statement record – politically in-tune with the worries of the current youth and the dangers that AI poses to the music scene
heavy and carried by Melissa Scaduto’s vocals – the attention may be on the collaborations here but it’s important to note how distinctive her voice is.
The ability to look inward for personal reflections at the same time as get the crowd moving makes Sextile work so well
It’s part of their charm – the dance upbeat energy of their live performances make them a name to be reckoned with on the live scene – an act impossible not to see live
having seen them eat up the audience at End of the Road last year
There are shades of The Prodigy on this record and that is no small comparison – it’s rare these days that you’ll see a band just wanting to have fun and that’s what Sextile are capable of doing beneath it all.
Scaduto and Brady Keehn are looking out for the next hit at every turn – drawing influence from bands like Ash Code
The Cold Night and the Agnes Circle – reaching deep into the underground of the genre
It’s full darkwave in the best kind of way
I’m a big fan of later tracks in the record like Hospital and Soggy Newports
and the album achieves its consistency throughout in style
It’s appropriately archaic – “every day is such a fight”
Hospital’s lyrics call – and that’s the energy that resonates across the entire album
vulnerable album closer that brings fans back down to Earth but ends the album on the highest notes possible
The 80s influences are kept consistently brilliant and engaging throughout the record – the techno-influenced vibes make it easy to imagine Sextile blaring their signature sound in the backing track of say

Arkansas coach Dave Van Horn didn’t mince words regarding the Razorbacks’ injury concerns
Van Horn and crew won two in a row against Texas
That makes it all the more impressive that Van Horn and crew are winning
Especially with injuries to Carson Wiggins and Logan Maxwell
“We’re the walking wounded right now,” Van Horn said
Arkansas jumped out to a 4-0 lead in the second inning
giving the visiting Longhorns all they could handle in a 9-1 game Friday
Texas mustered just one run in the fourth inning
Positive news was provided via an initial MRI on Wiggins
Van Horn says a second one will take place to provide a “more thorough look” at the injury
Elbow injuries are to be taken seriously with pitchers and Wiggins is no different
“He’s going to get another MRI today just to double check everything,” Van Horn said Wednesday. “The first one came back positive. So now, we’re going to have another one today that includes a little more thorough look.”
By clicking "Subscribe to Newsletter", I agree to On3's Privacy Notice, Terms
and use of my personal information described therein
Van Horn was asked for further information on what was behind the positive report
Van Horn implied Wiggins might be out for the rest of the year
no matter what the second MRI goes on to show
“It might be today when we do the dye test
It doesn’t mean he’s going to pitch again this year
If there’s a nerve issue or something jumped out
In an injury update ahead of the series against Texas
Van Horn also revealed the grim outlook for Maxwell
“He’ll be available, but he’s not doing much right now,” Van Horn said. “So, that’s where we are with him. He might be able to play during the series sometime. Might be able to just hit, pinch-hit. I don’t know about playing in the outfield yet. But, yeah, he’s down.”

The Panthers selected a wide receiver with their final pick in the 2025 NFL Draft
The Panthers selected WR Jimmy Horn Jr out of Colorado at 208th overall in the 6th round of the 2025 NFL Draft
The Panthers rounded out a strong 2025 NFL Draft with another wide receiver
who could add a downfield threat for the Carolina Panthers offense
With most of the Panthers receivers being more intermediate threats
someone who can make plays with the ball in his hands and can threaten down the field is a great compliment to the stew the Panthers are brewing in their wide receiver room
I’d imagine Jimmy Horn Jr factors into the returner question more than anything right away
if he can stick on the roster he should be featured as a gunner on special teams
I think adding a guy with some gadget potential and to add a “take the top off the defense” element is smart this late in the Draft
Sound off on the last pick of the Draft in the comments

as the Carolina Panthers have selected him with the No
208 pick in the sixth round in the 2025 NFL Draft
The wideout was long overlooked due to his slight frame
but he proved doubters wrong throughout a spectacular career blazing between the sidelines
His blistering speed was the most notable trait from his time and Colorado and his first two college campaigns with the South Florida Bulls
Carolina quarterback Bryce Young has a new explosive receiver to throw to with this pick from the Panthers

/ Mike Watters-Imagn ImagesHorn is the fourth Colorado player selected in this year's draft
Horn tallied 37 receptions for 441 yards and one touchdown
though nearly half of that production was in the season opener
He racked up seven grabs for a career-high 198 yards and a score against the North Dakota State Bison
taking the top off the defense and finding space en route to a 69-yard touchdown
he and Wester became the first pair of Colorado players to each have a game with at least 175 receiving yards in the same season
Horn missed most of the year's final three games due to a knee injury suffered against the Texas Tech Red Raiders
Horn was one of two Buffs to start and play in every game during the 2023 season
again starting strong with 11 catches for 117 yards in the dramatic opener of the coach Deion Sanders era against the TCU Horned Frogs
he was at the forefront of one of the most dramatic moments of Colorado's recent years
reeling in a 45-yard score against the Colorado State Rams to tie the game in its closing seconds

Horn had his moments down the stretch of 2023
finishing with 58 grabs for 567 yards and a team-high six touchdowns
Coach Sanders had an unshakeable bond with Horn during his time in Boulder
mostly due to the adversity Horn faced off the field
watched most of his son's college career from a prison cell
Horn logged 67 receptions for 959 yards and four receiving touchdowns
along with 14 rushes for 107 yards and a rushing score
Horn's most pertinent attributes stymied him at times
He struggled with drops in the latter half of the 2023 season and with consistency getting open during both years in Boulder
Horn remedied the drop concern in 2024 and maintained his status as a valuable asset for Colorado's passing attack

he holds a 40-yard dash time of 4.40 and made several spectacular downfield catches
Horn could duck and dash down the gridiron most on special teams
His blistering speed led to 34 career kick returns for 716 yards and one touchdown
Horn now gets the chance to zip across NFL fields for years to come after a storied career in black and gold
may have a ways to go before his services may be needed on scrimmage downs
but the mentality that got Horn to the pros will be what takes him further: Just keep running

A top-ranked Texas football team strode into Fayetteville on Oct. 17, 1981 and left the city with their first loss of the season. The unranked Razorbacks humbled the Longhorns with a 42-11 victory that exploded into an all-night party on the famed Dickson Street
police shut down the street and a memorable celebration ensued
"I think the game started at 11 a.m., and the party stopped at about 11 a.m. the next day," Van Horn said. "It was fun. I had only been here about a month. I just remember one of their players said, the week before they interviewed him after Texas beat somebody, and he said, ‘Hey, Arkansas
you haven’t seen nothing yet.’ And then they came up here and we got after them pretty good."

More: Three takeaways as Arkansas baseball falls to Florida, loses third straight SEC series
Van Horn has plenty of other memories from his personal battles with the Longhorns
citing a big hit that helped win a Friday night game in Austin
He also singled out a 5-4 win over the Longhorns on March 22
1985 when he was a grad assistant and the Razorbacks played their first home baseball game at night under the lights of George Cole Field
Those historical accounts might feel like distant memories from another world, but Van Horn is one of the few tethers that can bind these programs' history when the the No. 5 Razorbacks (37-9
19-2) go to battle this weekend inside Baum-Walker Stadium
Arkansas baseball and Texas will open a three-game series Thursday (6 p.m
meeting as SEC foes for the first time in the rivalry's history
It will be the first weekend series between the teams since 2005
and only three players who featured in the 2023 Opening Day matchup are still around for this top-five showdown
Van Horn knows his team might not understand the extent of this neighborly rivalry
"I don’t think any of (the players) talk about it because none of them were here back when we were in the Southwest Conference
1 ranked team in the country and it’s the University of Texas."
losers of three straight series for the first time since 2016
and the lineup's depth is being put to the test with the sustained absence of Nolan Souza
Senior outfielder Logan Maxwell will be limited against Texas
while pitchers Parker Coil and Carson Wiggins are likely out for the renewed rivalry
The challenge of righting the ship becomes more difficult with each passing week
Texas is on a 10-game winning streak and has arguably the best pitching staff in America
The Longhorns' 3.07 ERA ranks second nationally behind a dominant weekend rotation featuring Ruger Riojas (8-1
Spencer was ruled out for the season last week with a shoulder injury
Arkansas must ignore the opponent and look inward to get its season back on track
The challenging close to the regular season continues with No
That’s kind of our thing right now," Van Horn said
"Sometimes we get carried away worrying about the other team
use the players we have available to help us win the series."

Jimmy Horn Jr. is a shifty wide receiver with good top speed after the catch.

Highlights00:59Horn is creative with the football
His burst and shiftiness put pressure on defenders to make a clean tackle
and it shows when he's sifting through congestion after the catch
An NFL team can utilize him as its pre-snap motion threat with manufactured touches in space—bubble
Horn must prove he's able to defeat man coverage without being schemed open
He struggles to separate from physical cornerbacks who crowd the line of scrimmage
handsy defenders who want to redirect him and disrupt route timing
Playing through contact is not a strength of his game
Horn's small wingspan is one of the reasons why he is ineffective in contested-catch situations
Passes need to be accurate with plus placement to optimize his skill set
Horn projects as a shifty zone beater and yards-after-catch target in the NFL
He will probably begin his career as a depth receiver further down the depth chart
but he can be an impact return specialist and special teams ace
NFL teams will love his competitive attitude
— Pre-snap motion and manufactured touch threat in space
— Adds special teams value as a speedy kick returner
—Top-end speed to be used as a vertical slot threat
—Slender/small frame will limit his ability to play on the outside in the NFL
— Does not win many of contested-catch targets due to his small wingspan
—Release quickness and route timing disrupted by physical and longer corners
— 2022 first-team American Athletic Conference kick returner

Billy Cobham – a genuine living legend of both jazz and jazz rock – has been talking about his long career
including his experiences playing with Miles Davis
Ahead of his appearance at the Cheltenham Jazz Festival this weekend, the drummer - who turns 80 in a couple of weeks - has given an extensive interview to the Guardian
He cited as a turning point in his career when Davis recruited him for the recording of the Jack Johnson soundtrack in 1970
“We’re in the studio and Miles is in the control room and John McLaughlin starts messing around on his guitar and I come in then – whomp
– bassist Michael Henderson hits us with this heavy groove
Miles rushes out of the control room and admonishes us in that gravelly voice of his: ‘I told you not to play between takes!’”
He continued: “But John just can’t stop
and then Miles runs into the studio with his horn and shouts ‘hit the record button,’ and we were recording
Sometimes making music is like that.”
Davis didn’t say much as a band leader
“But what I did learn from him was to listen to what everyone is playing and adapt
Once we were playing My Funny Valentine and Herbie Hancock played a wrong chord
but Miles liked it and took the music that way
Cobham and McLaughlin later formed the Mahavishnu Orchestra
which blazed a trail for jazz rock in the 1970s
As a drummer he’s been sampled thousands of times over the decades
“I love it that people want to sample my music
“If I can pass you the groove then I’m happy to do so
Cobham is very much a working musician - after Cheltenham
he’ll be playing as part of the Guy Barker Big Band at Ronnie Scott’s in June – and still seems up for collaborating this late in his career: “I like to keep things fresh and work with new people.”
“I recently approached Bruno Mars’ drummer as I think he’s doing some really interesting things
I can see he might think I’m a bit far out.”

Chef Matt Horn can boast of a unique training ground for his Michelin-recognized Horn Barbecue: He taught himself how to barbecue in his grandmother’s back yard in Fresno
he distilled his approach to the irresistible comfort food as a marriage of distinctive styles: Central Texas
The chef and cookbook author (Horn Barbecue and Kowbird) also shares his talents at events such as the Healdsburg Wine & Food Experience in May 2025
Horn shares his favorite places to play in California
and where he goes to find more culinary inspiration:
Where do you live? I live in Oakland
Why there? I’m drawn to the vibrant energy of the Bay Area
and close proximity to both the city and nature
and it has been the foundation for my journey in both business and life
Who or what is your greatest California love? The food scene
The culinary diversity here—from farm-to-table to the innovative food culture—is unmatched and constantly inspires me
What is the biggest misperception about Californians? A common misperception is that all Californians are laid-back and superficial. While there's certainly a relaxed vibe, people here are hard-working, driven, and deeply passionate about their craft, whether in business or their personal lives. We also have great barbecue in California
What is the stereotype that most holds true
That Californians are health-conscious and into fitness
From the emphasis on healthy eating to the outdoors culture
people here are invested in well-being and living an active lifestyle
What is your favorite Golden State splurge? My favorite splurge is fine dining experiences. California is home to so many exceptional restaurants that fuse creativity with quality ingredients
and I’m always excited to experience new culinary innovations
Time for a road trip—where are you going? I’d head to Napa Valley for a relaxing weekend of great wine
It's the perfect place to unwind and recharge
If you could decree an official state culinary experience
what would it be? It would be California barbecue—not just traditional styles
showcasing the state's diverse culinary influences
What is your favorite way to play in California? Outdoor adventures. Whether it's hiking in the hills, fishing, or exploring the many national parks
I love the variety of natural beauty the state offers
Where would you go for the ultimate shopping spree in California? For the ultimate shopping spree, I'd head to Beverly Hills’ Rodeo Drive—it’s the place to find high-end luxury and exclusive designer brands
Best California song? The best California song is “California Love” by Tupac
It perfectly captures the allure and iconic essence of the state
How would your California dream day unfold
My dream day in California would start with a sunrise hike in the hills
followed by brunch at a local farm-to-table spot
and ending with an evening at a top-tier restaurant and a glass of wine
Savor the flavors during a four-day celebration of Sonoma’s people
Find ace chefs and follow an urban wine trail
The capital of farm-to-fork dining in the capital
Venture beyond familiar favorites to discover the best under-the-radar experiences
Where to find top vineyards in Napa wine country
Get hooked on Free Fishing Day this Saturday
This iconic destination delivers on the promise of glamour
FAYETTEVILLE — University of Arkansas baseball Coach Dave Van Horn’s most memorable bond to the Texas rivalry doesn’t involve his own sport
He said it had to be when the unranked Arkansas football team trouncing top-ranked Texas 42-11 on Oct
After handing the Longhorns what would be their only loss
students tore down the goalposts and marched them to Dickson Street for what Van Horn remembered as an all-night bash
Van Horn had only recently transferred in to play his junior season of baseball
“I don’t even know what year that was,” Van Horn said Wednesday
Leon Horn was born to the late Willie Lee and MayBell Horn on March 22

Its dense canopy trapped in moisture and fostered one of the most biodiverse regions in the world
But the destruction of the Atlantic Forest has exacerbated the local effects of climate change — and with it
where the four Maxakali territories are located
has suffered a dramatic rise in temperatures in recent years
Twenty Brazilian cities registered temperatures five degrees Celsius (nine degrees Fahrenheit) higher than the average daily maximum, according to 2023 government data analysed by the newspaper O Globo
The city of Araçuaí even shattered the record for the hottest temperature in Brazil’s history in November of that year
with thermometers rising to 44.8 degrees Celsius — or 112.6 degrees Fahrenheit
It lies a mere 130km (81 miles) from Maxakali territory
“We are in the epicentre of the climate crisis in Brazil,” said Rosângela Pereira de Tugny
More than 85 percent of the Atlantic Forest has been destroyed
development and practices like logging encroach upon its land
less than eight percent of the forest remains
there was lots of forest,” said Lúcio Flávio Maxakali
a schoolteacher and a master’s degree student at the Federal University of Minas Gerais
“There were lots of animals and we planted food — corn
colonial settlers used fire to clear vast tracts of the Atlantic Forest
Farmers often seeded the burned areas with guinea grass
“The farmers changed the landscape,” said Manuel Damásio Maxakali
the 52-year-old leader of Pradinho village
His wrinkled hands drawing makeshift maps in the dusty earth
Damásio was eager to communicate the destruction that the farmers wrought
set the stage for even greater destruction of the region's tropical forests
Governed by the motto "integrate to not surrender"
the military leadership cut roadways through dense forest and pushed for development projects in remote regions to stimulate economic growth
Deforestation ultimately hit a peak in the period between 1995 and 2004
when as much as 27,772 square kilometres (10,723 square miles) of forest in Brazil were destroyed per year
That, in turn, increased temperatures across the country. In the region of the Atlantic Forest in particular, one study found that the surface temperature of a hectare increased by one degree Celsius (1.8 degrees Fahrenheit) whenever a quarter of its tree cover was razed
If the entire hectare of forest was demolished
temperatures could spike by four degrees Celsius (7.2 degrees Fahrenheit)
experts say the Maxakali territory has grown hotter and drier
That increases the likelihood of wildfires sparking
Last year even broke a record for the number of wildfires in Minas Gerais. In less than nine months, 24,475 wildfires were tallied — far exceeding the previous record high in the whole of 2021
Scarce rainfall also heightens the risk of fires
as does the seemingly endless guinea grass
which creates a thick carpet of flammable material across the landscape
Grass fires can spread four times as quickly as forest fires
leading the Maxakali to nickname the invasive plant “kerosene”
Some blazes are started accidentally within the Maxakali communities themselves
is a frequent part of Maxakali death rites
which often involve the burning of the deceased’s clothing
and it is also used for cooking and to clear areas of snakes
But wildfires are not the only consequence of the changing climate
The river in the village of Pradinho has shrunk so much that villagers are unable to bathe
The water has dried up,” Damásio explained
Maxakali territory once spanned at least three large valleys in the Atlantic Forest
Elders in the village remember how the forest supplied food
medicine and construction materials — in addition to serving as habitat for the yãmĩyxop
spiritual beings central to Maxakali beliefs
“There were medicines in the forest for us,” explained Damásio
we would use the bark from the trees to feel better
But the four remaining Maxakali reservations — reduced to 6,434 hectares (15,900 acres) of pasture — contain less than 17 percent of their original vegetation
Some experts consider the Atlantic Forest to be regionally extinct
That absence has many Maxakali leaders turning to reforestation — and finding in their musical traditions an ecological blueprint of the past
Singing organises life in Maxakali villages: Music
teach history or transmit practical instructions
like how to make bags or weave fishing nets
“Songs tie together the whole Tikmũ’ũn social structure,” said de Tugny
who is also a musicologist at the Federal University of Minas Gerais
means being capable of taking care of the spirit considered to be the song’s creator
Ancestral songs also provide an extremely detailed register of local ecology
Contained in the lyrics are hundreds of species of flora and fauna now extinct in the territory
“Even dogs have a song within our religion.”
some of which don’t have names in Brazil's national language
and only two of which are currently present in the territory
The lyrics supply information about bee behaviour that many Maxakali have never witnessed first-hand
“They are like photographs of every detail that exists in the Atlantic Forest: the names of insects
moments of relationship between an animal and a leaf
ritual songs also play a crucial role in helping the forest regenerate
Singing is a daily part of their work in Hāmhi's tree nurseries
Nursery caretakers not only sing to seeds as they are buried
but they also make music as part of the regular rhythms of harvesting and cultivation
The song lyrics help participants remember the ecological knowledge of their ancestors
And while some of the work at Hāmhi is dedicated to planting fruit trees and other crops
the project's leaders see reforestation as key to reducing the region's fire risks
the Hāmhi project has planted over 60 hectares (148 acres) of fruit trees and 155 hectares (383 acres) of Atlantic Forest vegetation
The goal is a reforested area nearly twice that size
Programme participants have also organised themselves into a provisional fire brigade and even created natural fire barriers
using traditional methods like planting species of fire-resistant vegetation
“Songs help the forest grow,” said Damásio
We are calling on the forest to grow back.”
