The plot for the Dornier Museum is located in the immediate vicinity of the runways at Friedrichshafen‘s regional airport
The aim of the museum is to present the technology of aircraft construction and the history of the Dornier plant
links to contemporary history are to be established
Among the exhibits are veteran aircrafts some of which can still fly today
The shape of the museum is derived from the di- rect access of the exhibited airplanes to the runways
curved facades delimitate the interior space and guide the way to the tarmac
The end faces oriented towards the airport are closed by transparent gates
A box within the large hall offers space for scenographic presentations of different eras
a dot raster pattern is applied to the perimeter surface
The raster pattern obscures the linear structure of the polycarbonate panels
The absence of a clearly recognizable structure conveys the image of a wall to the observer; the progressing impression of transparency however signals permeability
The limited number of apertures for doors and windows
latter framed as showcases and intersecting the homogeneous surface at medium height
provide points of reference of scale of the hangar
polycarbonate panels are applied without further treatment

Great timing. On Sunday Germany’s Anne Haug, the 2019 IRONMAN World Champion won the half distance Challenge St. Poelten in Austria by just 14 seconds
Difficult to argue that small gains don’t count
in a race where she only made the pass well into the final few hundred metres
We’ll never know if that was in part enabled by her new partnership and kit from HUUB – but it’s a pretty good background from which to announce your new link-up
The HUUB family of speed continues to grow, with the latest inductee to racing faster being none other than World IRONMAN Champion Anne Haug
HUUB welcomes Anne to their stable of athletes of all abilities over all disciplines.
“Anne approached us quite simply to ‘make her faster’
there were gains to be had both in the water and on the land
and she wanted the fastest and the best… And that was HUUB!”
HUUB has thrown their best team at working with Anne
Hydrodynamics from Professor Huub Toussaint
and aerodynamicist Dan Bigham have combined over Zoom
Skype and other Covid safe media improvising to deliver considerable savings both in water and on land
Anne Haug commented on the partnership
“I’m super excited to be part of the HUUB family of athletes from now on
and I have never met a company as focused on its desire to make me more successful and faster in clothing and swimwear
The company’s unique network of specialists from the ‘Fellowship of Speed’ enables me to take my performance to the next step
Recent aerodynamic tests of the new Anemoi Tri Suit in the wind tunnel have already shown great results
and I am delighted to be the lowest bike and rider CdA combination at the wind tunnel in Immenstaad am Bodensee
I just found some significant gains!”
Dean Jackson added, “Anne is a truly incredible and most admired triathlete, and her win in Kona showed the level of athlete she is
This is combined with an open and honest partnership of benefit to all
It is about working together to make her faster.”
Anne is an athlete that made her way to Germany’s No.1 and the world’s best at both IRONMAN distances
having turned professional at the relatively late age of 27.
Prior to storming into the long-distance community, winning her first IRONMAN 70.3 race in 2017, she won World Cup medals and celebrated victories worldwide, racing in the top tier of ITU short-course racing. In 2019, Haug claimed her first IRONMAN World Championship title
making her the third-fastest female in World Championship history

Cube has taken the wraps off an amazing new 'stealth bullet' TT bike
built to rule the punishing Queen K Highway at this year's Ironman World Championship in Kona
is the world record holder over iron-distance triathlons
his sponsors Swiss Side and Cube have collaborated to give him what they call the 'ultimate aerodynamic package'
He'll be aiming to cover 180km of hot Hawaii tarmac in as close to four hours as possible – his best bike split there is 4:36:34
while the current record is held by fellow German Normann Stadler
“The new bike is light and stiff with the advanced twin-mould carbon frame," says Cube's head of engineering
with an extreme geometry transferring each and every pedal stroke into pure speed
the bike modularity ensures the possibility for every rider to make their individual setup
Our goal is to build the most aerodynamic bike on the market
With this new bike we did a huge step forward to achieve our goal.”
Swiss Side says that big aero gains could be made on Raelert's previous ride
The base drag level was reduced by over six percent
and further drag reduction of over 20 percent at higher yaw angles was apparently achieved
Cube tells BikeRadar that the bike in its current form will not be available to buy
it is the first prototype as part of a new aero bike development project in the works from Cube
with aerodynamic development support from Swiss Side
