2024 at 12:01 AM EDTBookmarkSaveThe Munich suburb of Grünwald is home to some of the richest people in Germany—old money sprinkled with a few corporate chieftains and sports stars
The place oozes respectability and discretion
with residents who appreciate neighbors who don’t ask too many questions
It was a perfect home for P&R Containers
The company—ostensibly in the shipping business—occupies a low-slung building with oversize windows on a winding street of doctors’ offices
It’s one of the smallest structures in the area
and behind the glass doors there’s little ostentation
just plain rooms with gray carpets and white walls

Robert Malsch was intoxicated and speeding when he rear-ended another vehicle in Redmond
instantly killing the driver in February 2015
King County Superior Court Judge Mary Roberts acknowledged Friday that she had lost sleep trying to decide on an appropriate punishment for a Lynnwood man who was drunk when he crashed into the back of a car in Redmond at over 100 mph
instantly killing a 30-year-old software developer in February 2015
Admitting she wouldn’t be able to get through Robert Malsch’s sentencing hearing without choking up
Roberts said she was deeply touched by the more than 20 letters she received from friends and family of victim Michael Ey
The letters gave the judge “a vivid picture” of Ey
Roberts said letters from Malsch’s loved ones also gave her reason to sympathize with the now 22-year-old
who had no prior criminal history before killing Ey and fleeing
only to be arrested 15 minutes later when police found him hiding under a log down an embankment
But, the judge said, “you lost your chance for leniency from this court when you left on the day of trial,” referencing Malsch’s decision to skip out on his vehicular-homicide trial in February
Roberts imposed a sentence of nearly 10 ½ years
She also ordered Malsch to pay restitution to cover Ey’s parents’ expenses for traveling to Seattle twice — first for Malsch’s trial
Malsch’s defense attorney Colleen Hartl sought a low-end sentence of nearly eight years
telling the judge Malsch had been overserved at a Seattle club
But Senior Deputy Prosecutor Stephanie Knightlinger noted that police found an empty whiskey bottle in Malsch’s car
along with a cup with an inch of liquor still in it
Every morning I’m reminded he’s gone,” said Ey’s girlfriend
traveled from New Jersey to attend the sentencing
Photos of their son — with goggles and a lab coat
with his girlfriend at the beach — were shown to the judge
encouraged her grandson to make a change for the better so he “will be a blessing and not a curse to society.” She lamented that Ey had been “snatched away” from his loved ones
saying: “I would just like to say I accept responsibility for what I’ve done
Malsch was driving a 2008 Volkswagen Rabbit at 100 to 120 mph east on Highway 520 and nearly struck a car near Marymoor Park in Redmond
about 1½ miles before the highway ends and the speed limit drops from 60 to 40 mph
Ey was stopped at a red light at Avondale Road and Northeast Union Hill Road when Malsch plowed into the back of his 2010 Honda Fit
The force of the crash sent Ey’s car off the road
said Malsch was frantically trying to restart his car but then ran into a ravine as officers arrived
A K-9 unit found Malsch about 15 minutes later passed out in blackberry bushes
He was taken to Harborview Medical Center to be treated for his injuries and his high alcohol level
Malsch’s blood alcohol content was measured at 0.20
Malsch was to stand trial on the charges Feb
29 when he ran from the courtroom after showing up 45 minutes late
He cut and dyed his hair red to alter his appearance but was arrested March 17 after an Everett officer recognized him in a convenience-store parking lot

REAL Housewives of New Jersey star Rachel Fuda has been called out by her stepson Jaiden's birth mom for using his adoption as a "pathetic storyline."
The teen's birth mom Brittany Malsch, who is currently serving prison time at a halfway house in New Jersey, is now speaking out for the second time after claiming to The U.S. Sun last month that her ex John banned her from seeing Jaiden
When asked if she responded to the adoption papers that were served to her - per the episode she had 45 days to respond - Brittany exclusively told The U.S
Sun: "I never received an adoption request
"I never heard anything about it."
She also said she has "no idea" where the papers were served and what is the current status of the adoption
she would legally terminate her rights as Jaiden's mother
Sun that she plans on hiring an attorney once she gets out of prison
went on to say the adoption storyline is a "poor pathetic excuse of a storyline," and thinks their plot is "boring as hell."
"If I had nothing to do with this situation
I would be watching the show thinking how lame she is- completely disregarding Jaiden's personal life and feelings and taking shots at me to make her look like a knight in shining armor of a stepmom," Brittany told The U.S
Sun exclusively after watching the May 2nd episode in her halfway house
The Fuda Tile manager was officially granted sole custody of Jaiden in June 2011 by a New Jersey judge
Brittany claimed she still saw her son "periodically up until 2017" before her last major arrest
The former bartender stands by her claims that she was "cut off" by John from her son visiting her in the halfway house
"John cut contact with me and my entire family
and even Jaiden's little brother for the purpose of making Rachel his mom," Brittany alleged
John made it impossible for me to see and reach him
It was the only way he knew he could hurt me."
She claimed: "I was just completely shocked to see how the truth has been twisted so far beyond from what actually happened that it made me sad to know Jaiden's been lied to for the last seven years
"And that I have wanted to be in his life and nothing other than that since day one."
Sun has reached out to Bravo and the Fuda family for comment
While Rachel, 31, and John, 35, visited the office of adoption attorney Debra E. Guston, the Real Housewives star shared details of Jaiden's childhood and explained why she took over as the mother figure
He had a mom that was not around for him," Rachel told the attorney
and I've really wanted to adopt him for a very long time."
She added: "Adopting Jaiden has always been something that's felt like it's missing for me personally
"He thought when John and I got married that he was adopted
he didn't understand the legalities and the details of that."
The reality TV star
broke down in tears after hearing about Jaiden's birth mom needing to sign off on the papers to make it official
"It's just so crazy to me that how she has not been in any way
shape or form a parental figure to him since I met him how many years ago and I still have to be like
'Is it okay that I adopt your son that I've raised?'" Rachel said
The TV personality got emotional while sharing in her confessional: "I can not imagine walking this earth without having any relationship or any regard for my own children
"Adopting him is just another step to just
solidify and prove to him that 'I'm here for you
and you're my number one priority.'"
I've done everything for this kid like he's my son and you know how much I've been wanting to do this for so long."
The Guston Law counselor explained to the couple that they will attempt to serve Jaiden's mother and that she has 45 days to respond
Sun in a statement: "As all adoption matters are sealed and confidential
I cannot comment except to say that all New Jersey statutes and court rules concerning service were followed and approved by the court."
Rachel has gushed about how Jaiden has been adjusting as a big brother ever since she and John welcomed daughters Gianella
The reality star became involved in Jaiden's life ever since she met her husband in 2015
Jaiden's birth mom Brittany had been partially involved in the teen's life until then
Her extensive criminal record from the past five years includes being charged with burglary-entering a structure
and possession with intent to distribute crystal methamphetamine in the first degree
Brittany claims she was found guilty by association in the burglary case
which involved stealing valuable items from a storage unit
The mom of two last turned herself into the Millicent Fenwick House
a 50-women institute that has a residential community release program for incarcerated women with substance abuse and mental health issues
Brittany is eligible for release in September 2023
but can remain in prison until her maximum release date of October 2024

2012 at 8:51 pm ET.css-79elbk{position:relative;}The aggressive pursuit by two Wyckoff Police detectives of the person cops believe is responsible for the July 2011 burglary of a Nancy Lane home has led to the arrest of a 51 year old Paterson man
who is last known to have resided on 40th Street in Paterson
was arrested by Wyckoff Police Friday and charged with burglary and theft
Malsch was unofficially dubbed the “motorcycle burglar,” after he was observed by a neighbor fleeing from the home after activating an alarm
The Nancy Lane homeowner was arriving home at the same time and passed the motorcycle on her street before she knew her home had been burglarized; almost $3,000 worth of jewelry was stolen
Officers processing the original crime scene found latex gloves in the roadway that were discarded while the motorcycle was driving away
The evidence was used to obtain a DNA match against Malsch
Michael Musto have actively pursued this case because of the significant evidence at hand," Wyckoff Police Chief Benjamin Fox wrote in a release
there was a crow bar left behind that was used to pry open a window
and the observations of the motorcycle and limited description of the driver
the detectives worked with other agencies as he has an extensive criminal history including burglaries
detectives obtained a warrant for Malsch’s arrest on September 11
Teschon issued the warrant for burglary and theft and set bail at $60,000
Musto have spent time in Paterson attempting to locate Malsch after the warrant was issued and had been unsuccessful in finding him," according to Fox
"They worked with the Passaic County Sheriff’s Department warrant squad who located Malsch early this morning
arrested him and transported him to the Wyckoff Police Department
He was processed and committed to the Bergen County jail in default of bail."
Fox praised the work of his detectives in solving this burglary that happened more than a year ago
"Burglaries can be difficult to solve," Fox said in a release
"All too often there simply is not much evidence to work from
Cops were unable to recover any of the stolen jewelry
as burglaries are a horrible invasion of personal privacy and property
they do everything that they can to apprehend those responsible."
and this community should be grateful that we have a department full of skilled

EXCLUSIVE: Two Wyckoff detectives didn’t have much to go on at first after a victim reported seeing a burglar who broke into her Nancy Lane home and snatched $3,000 worth of jewelry speed past her on a motorcycle
belonged to a man already locked up for other crimes
Malsch (MUGSHOT: Wyckof PD) INSET: Todd Malsch (NJDOC)
But they kept at it and were rewarded with the arrest of the owner’s brother
a 51-year-old career criminal dubbed the “motorcycle burglar.”
Malsch was picked up this morning by members of the Passaic County Sheriff’s Department warrant squad and brought to Wyckoff
where he was charged with burglary and theft
He was being held on $60,000 bail in the Bergen County Jail
with more charges likely facing him from other towns
2011 break-in found latex gloves used in the burglary that were dropped or tossed away
They also found blood droplets — caused when the intruder broke a window — which produced a DNA match
was that the motorcycle doesn’t belong to Malsch
Lee and 49-year-old Todd Malsch have been in and out of jail and prison over the past 20 or so years for crimes in three different counties and more than a dozen different towns
as well as Michael Mindillo and Michael Mendillo
They also apparently shared the motorcycle
Todd Malsch is currently serving a 3-year sentence after being sent to prison in March in connection with drug and stolen property convictions out of Morris County
he was the getaway driver while another man shattered the window of a Route 23 Dollar World store in Wayne and snatched a cash register
Police grabbed the younger Malsch but the other man — believed to be Lee — took off with one of the registers
Joseph Soto and Michael Musto contacted other agencies who had the elder Malsch on their radar and eventually accumulated enough evidence to obtain an arrest warrant 10 days ago
The investigators spent quite a bit of time in Paterson looking for Malsch
But they got some help from Passaic County Sheriff’s officers who tracked him down overnight
“Burglaries can be difficult to solve,” Fox said earlier today
“All too often there simply is not much evidence to work from.”
Soto and Musto “took the evidence that they had” and “through a lot of good
extensive police work” tied Malsch directly to the break-in

The couple joined the New Jersey Housewives franchise during season 13
Malsch, who is currently in prison, says it’s difficult to watch her son be his stepmom’s storyline on the hit Bravo show
As Bravo fans saw on the April 4 episode of RHONJ, Rachel is trying to legally adopt her stepson
Her husband John gained full custody of Jaiden more than a decade ago
Until now we didn’t know any details about John’s ex but now we learn that she is currently serving prison time in a halfway house located in Paterson
The 35-year-old revealed more details about the Fuda family drama while chatting with The U.S
“I’ve tried to get in touch with my son

John has prevented me from speaking and seeing him whatsoever. This was not my choice.”
She explains that she saw Jaiden “periodically up until 2017,” when she was arrested
Since then she’s been in and out of prison
she reached out to John in order to see Jaiden but he “refused.”
Malsch claims she made the “extremely selfless decision” to severe her parental rights “for Jaiden’s own good.”
She added: “When I’m out of here
I’ll have to get a lawyer because he won’t let me see him.”
Malsch is eligible for release in September 2023
Her extensive criminal record includes charges of “burglary-entering a structure
and possession with intent to distribute crystal methamphetamine in the first degree”
John and his ex dated for four years and were engaged for two before splitting in 2009
When it comes to Malsch’s thoughts on RHONJ
she admits that she loves watching the show
adding that her son is “amazing” on the show
noting she found it “extremely comical” adding that “he acts the same as always.”
She’s also “not surprised” by the news that Rachel wants to adopt Jaiden
“It doesn’t surprise me one bit
so I was expecting it,” she revealed
“I actually predicted this would happen when I first heard about them being on the show.”
“John will take any opportunity to make himself look better by making me look worse,” she continued
“But I’m unfazed by what others say and think.”

"I actually predicted this would happen when I first heard about them being on the show," she told The U.S
"John will take any opportunity to make himself look better by making me look worse
But I'm unfazed by what others say and think," she declared
But in another interview with The U.S. Sun in May
Malsch admitted that she was "shocked to see how the truth has been twisted so far beyond from what actually happened" and that it made her "sad to know Jaiden's been lied to for the last seven years." Furthermore
she vehemently denies ever receiving any adoption papers from the Fudas or their legal team
the couple met with an attorney and were told that Malsch had 45 days to respond after being served with adoption papers
she essentially forfeited her rights to contest the adoption process
"If I had nothing to do with this situation

John Fuda’s ex, Brittany Malsch, is revealing ALL of his secrets after he and his wife, Rachel Fuda, spoke poorly about her on season 12 of the Real Housewives of New Jersey
In various DM’s posted on Instagram, Brittany alleges that John Fuda “never graduated [high school] and that [he was a hardcore drug dealer] when they met.”
According to Brittany, John Fuda “first got arrested at the age of 18,” which she notes no one will find a record of due to his family’s connections
“He paid $150k to the lawyer John Bruno for the arrest when he was 21 to fight the case,” Brittany elaborates
“Everyone else who was arrested with him did four years in prison
He also paid his co-defendants to deny his [involvement] in return [for] commissary and money on their books in jail.”
As for how she and John met, Brittany says they “met at a party in Mahwah that John came to, to sell everyone coke.” She insists, “Anyone our age in Mahwah will tell you the same thing. John was a HUGE drug dealer. He had all of Bergen County strung out!”
John’s second arrest at 21 was much more serious. Those charges were “breaking and entering, assault with a deadly weapon, and armed robbery.”
On top of that, Brittany called John “conceited, arrogant, and cocky.” She adds that “no amount of money or luxury was worth the ugliness I witnessed on a daily basis.”
“Since I left him, he has done everything possible to ruin and hurt me the only way he knew he could. I am just shocked that after all these years, he still continues to throw dirt on my name on national TV. I have never claimed to be an angel, but I feel this is a continuation of a personal vendetta he has against me for leaving him. I wasn’t expecting this at all, and I feel bad. Jaiden had no choice in any of this,” Brittany said of John bringing up her past on RHONJ.
Meanwhile, Brittany also gives details about her “horrible” sex life with John and reveals some things he allegedly enjoys in bed.

'The Real Housewives of New Jersey' Season 9 drama continues every Tuesday at 9 PM ET only on Bravo
It's pretty clear that "Real Housewives of New Jersey" newbie, Rachel Fuda has a great relationship with her stepson, Jaiden Fuda — but what do we know about her relationship with his biological mother and her husband, John Fuda's ex
Fuda revealed that adoption had long been at the back of her mind
but that joining the show only added to her desire to go through with it
"I really credit the show for pushing me in that direction," she shared

Rachel also pointed out that attorneys she'd spoken to
That likely had something to do with one of the more significant curveballs involved: Jaiden's mother
there was a possibility Malsch might say no
but what more do we know about this situation
Despite being referred to on "Real Housewives of New Jersey," Brittany Malsch hasn't made an appearance on the show. That's not entirely unexpected — after all, John Fuda has full custody of their son. However, her absence likely also has something to do with her repeated brushes with the law. According to The U.S. Sun
she's been in a halfway house in New Jersey since December 2022 — and she's had a number of stints in jail
even if she hasn't been featured on "RHONJ," Malsch has spoken to the press

she didn't seem entirely opposed to the idea
so I was expecting it," was her simple response
Brittany Malsch's lack of commentary on Rachel Fuda's hopes to adopt Jaiden Fuda isn't the only thing that suggests there isn't a personal vendetta between the women
based on what both have said about each other
In her interview with The U.S. Sun, Malsch declined to speak about the "Real Housewives of New Jersey" newcomer
precisely because they didn't know each other
she hinted that she was a fan of the show — and though that was mostly because it meant she saw snippets of her son
she clearly wasn't opposed to Rachel's involvement meaning her son was on TV
she's also been pretty sensitive toward the situation
she's avoided speaking too much about Malsch's relationship with John
has mused that the adoption issue stems from John wanting to vilify her
"John will take any opportunity to make himself look better by making me look worse," she said
"I don't really like dealing with her." Hey
it wouldn't be the first time someone's husband was at the center of drama in "RHONJ!"
