Sport-Union Neckarsulm won the first round of the German women's handball Bundesliga playdown at home with strong teamwork and sharp attack. Nekarzulm beat Leverkusen 30-22 in the first round of the women's handball Bundesliga playdown of the 2024/25 season at Vallei-Sporthalle in Nekarzulm, Germany, on the 17th (local time). Vasiliki Gkatziou remained the center of the attack throughout the game, scoring eight goals, the most in the team, while Sinah Hagen scored five goals and Annefleur Brugman and Lily Matilda Holste scored four goals each, showing an even scoring distribution. At the goal, Aleksandra Orowicz and Johanna Fossum secured the back door with five saves side by side. Nekarzulm gained momentum when Vasiliki Gkaciu scored the first goal 53 seconds into the game. Since then, Anefleur Bruhemann and Sinaghen have scored consecutive goals, leading the flow by taking a 4-2 lead from the beginning. Leverkusen also did not easily back down. Chasing Annika Ingenpass and Johanna Andresen's goals, they fought a one- or two-point battle. However, midway through the first half, Nekarzulm scored four goals in a row to widen the gap to 12-7. Leverkusen fought back with consecutive points by Pia Terfloth, but Nekarzulm did not lose his concentration just before the end of the first half and finished the first half by 16-10, six points. Early in the second half, the two teams maintained a tight flow by exchanging goals, but Nekarzulm once again showed his background in deciding the match. Starting with Brugesman's goal, he scored three goals in a row to go 24-15, and the atmosphere of the game began to lean unilaterally. Leverkusen chased 24-17 with a score around Andreessen and Ingenpas, but there was no further turnaround. Nekarzulm broke the gap again with back-to-back goals at the end of the match, eventually finishing 30-22 to secure a delightful win in front of home fans. For Leverkusen, Anneka Ingenpas and Johanna Andreessen scored five goals each, Pia Terflot scored four, and goalkeeper Rieke Anna van der Linden made 13 saves, but it was regrettable that he lacked scoring skills linked to defense. Nekarzulm, who won the first round of the playdown with a big victory, was in an advantageous position, taking an important match to stay. Various offensive options and solid goalkeeper Jin's performance centered on Gkachiu are expected to be a powerful weapon in the rest of the game. The two teams will soon face each other again in the second round of the playdown. Attention is focusing on whether Nekarzulm will be able to continue this momentum and whether Leverkusen will be able to successfully fight back. ※ This service is provided by machine translation tool, NAVER papago. Previously, the plan was to have such a model produced at the Audi plant in Neckarsulm the recent increase in demand for combustion engines in Germany could mean that Neckarsulm could be sufficiently utilised with the updated A5 and A7 combustion models which would probably have to be called Q10 e-tron according to the current Audi naming convention (straight numbers are intended for combustion models which is why Q9 e-tron is out of the question) is not the only variant currently being discussed The Brussels plant is also being considered for the production of batteries and components for the German plants In response to an enquiry by Handelsblatt, Audi itself stated that the subsequent allocation at the Brussels plant should be clarified by November This is when the VW Group’s traditional planning round takes place in which the production of the individual models is allocated to the plants for the next five years June is likely to be a decisive phase: This week a task force of the Belgian government is to send a package of measures to Audi on how – and with what financial support – the plant could be maintained Further talks between the government in Brussels and the car manufacturer are then apparently planned for mid-June One thing is clear: production in Brussels is currently not profitable for Audi the Belgian plant is the smallest production site in Europe; otherwise Audi still produces its vehicles in Ingolstadt and Neckarsulm in Germany But even this capacity was not nearly utilised in Brussels recently: Audi only produced 37,400 vehicles in Belgium in 2030 Last year also saw the model change from the e-tron quattro to the Q8 e-tron which was only a facelift of the original model the SUV model never exceeded sales of 47,900 vehicles in 2022 Audi clearly wants to avoid closing a plant in Europe it is unclear whether an even more exclusively positioned SUV with a length of more than five metres would generate the necessary numbers to better utilise the capacity of 120,000 units Such a model would probably be based on the SSP and therefore come as a purely electric model – the Q8 e-tron is still based on an electrified combustion engine platform and therefore has some disadvantages it is unclear whether the SSP will be sufficient to utilise the capacity of the Brussels plant Capacity utilisation is also below plan at other plants: in Hungary only 114,000 Audis were built in 2023; 200,000 units would be possible handelsblatt.com (in German) I agree with the Privacy policy electrive has been following the development of electric mobility with journalistic passion and expertise since 2013 we offer comprehensive coverage of the highest quality — as a central platform for the rapid development of this technology Sport-Union Neckarsulm headed for a playdown after losing to leading HB Ludwigsburg in their final regular league game Nekarzulm lost 31-36 to Ludwigsburg in the 22nd round of the women's handball Bundesliga in the 2024/25 season at MHP Arena Ludwigsburg in Ludwigsburg The loss saw Nekarzulm advance to the playoffs with 8-14 losses (16 points) and 9th place in the regular league It was all the more regrettable because 8th place FRISCH AUF Göpingen remained at 17 points Ludwigshburg finished the regular league with a record of 21 wins and 1 loss (42 points) Ludwigshburg led the attack with six goals by Antje Doll and five goals each by Anne With Johansen and Guro Nestaker and goalkeeper Johanna Bundsen led the team to victory with eight saves Nekarzulm led the attack with seven goals by Angun Gudmestad and five goals each by Annefleur Brugman and Sinah Hagen and goalkeeper Lena Ivankok made 19 saves but did not prevent her team's defeat Nekarzulm got off to a good start as he scored two goals in a row but he conceded three goals in a row to allow a turnaround but Ludwigshburg scored three goals in a row to make a comeback 12-10 they continued their close game by exchanging goals one by one before Ludwigshburg scored three goals in a row to run 18-14 and finish the first half with a 20-15 lead Nekarzulm did not give up and continued to fight to close the gap Lena Ivankok kept the team in place with several important saves Nekarzulm started the chase and scored four goals in a row to catch up to 25-23 and again added three goals following the two Ludwig finished 36-31 in a battle to exchange goals Necarzulm coach Thomas Zeitz said on his website "We had to win at least one point in the last game to advance to the playoffs in eighth place Ludwigshburg showed strength in individual quality and it was difficult for us to keep up with in tempo play Lena Ivankok kept us in the game with several important saves but we played consistently well for a long time We're going to the playdown in ninth place but we've made great growth so far and we're on a good path," he said I think I'll be able to play more freely in the playdown I feel that we have grown a lot during the second half of the year," he said will face the lowest-ranked Leverkusen (TSV Bayer 04 Leverkusen) in the playdown The team that wins two games first will win in the upcoming games on the 17th ※ This service is provided by machine translation tool Sport-Union Neckarsulm won two valuable points driving TSV Bayer 04 Leverkusen to its 14th consecutive victory Nekarzulm won a dramatic 21-20 victory in the eighth round of the women's handball Bundesliga in the 2024/25 season at Ostermann-Arena in Leverkusen The victory left Nekarzulm in ninth place in the league with three wins and five losses (6 points) while Leverkusen still failed to earn points Nekarzulm's Munia Smits led the team's offense with five goals and Angun Gudmestad and Stefanie Kaiser each scored three goals Goalkeeper Lena Ivankok became the winning player with 12 saves Johanna Andresen scored six goals and Fem Boeters scored three Goalkeeper Rieke Anna van der Linden saved with 11 saves but it was not enough to prevent her team's defeat Leverkusen scored three goals in a row early in the game to take a 5-2 lead Nekarzulm scored four goals in a row to turn the tables 6-5 but Nekarzulm scored two consecutive goals at the end of the first half to end the first half with a 10-9 lead Nekarzulm widened the gap to 14-10 with consecutive points and seemed to take the lead with a 17-12 run Nekarzulm added a goal before conceding a goal to Leverkusen but scored again to maintain a two-goal lead Leverkusen had a chance to tie the game just before the end but goalkeeper Lena Ivanchok blocked Johanna Andreessen's mid-range shot to seal Nekarzulm's victory Necarzulm coach Thomas Zeitz told the Bundesliga Today's game showed that we still need to improve in many areas it is difficult to keep the lead stable until the end But it was a tougher game for Leverkusen because it was a team that never gave up until the end of the season Winning such a close game is also an important experience for the team," he said The expected tariff cost is significantly lower than the $4 billion to $5 billion crosstown rival General Motors estimates which Ford attributes to its higher mix of U.S.-built vehicles Welcome to www.automotivelogistics.media. Volkswagen also plans to use green energy for its rail transports by 2021 The Mission:Zero programme brings together Audi’s efforts to reduce emissions save water and increase the efficient use of resources in production and logistics As part of those efforts Audi is aiming to become carbon-neutral at all its production locations by 2025 This has been achieved already for the Brussels Last year highways motorcycles and scooters dominate European roads during the warm months Two-wheeled trips give me great enjoyment as well but braving the outdoors on a vehicle exposed to the elements seems just a bit too daunting for me during this time of year in Germany there is an alternative for those dealing with the pangs of winter withdrawal: the German Motorcycle Museum in Neckarsulm While Neckarsulm isn’t a household name for Americans this industrial suburb of Heilbronn was once as synonymous with German motorcycle craftsmanship as Milwaukee is with Harley-Davidson the museum has an exterior belying the modern marvels within Entering it is like stepping into a bike fan’s dream with shiny rides from floor to ceiling and stories to match each one From the pioneering designs of the early 20th century to the sleek the museum houses an impressive array of 140 motorcycle and bicycle brands making it one of the largest collections in Germany a local manufacturing legend closely tied to the city’s name derived from the nearby Neckar and Sulm rivers The company originally manufactured knitting machines the company boasted the largest production volume worldwide While swapping knitting needles for gears and pistons was a good business move The last NSU motorcycle rolled off the line in 1963 and fewer than 14,535 of them remain registered on German roads according to the Federal Motor Transport Authority The museum allows visitors to immerse themselves by sitting on several vintage NSU motorcycles while gripping the handlebars and watching a rider’s point of view on a large screen This setup primes visitors for a deep dive into cycling history From the very inception of two-wheeled travel marked by the 1817 Draisine to Tour de France bikes and modern e-bikes the museum covers a broad spectrum of pedal- and motor-driven cycles Visitors can even climb aboard a penny-farthing the famous 19th-century bicycle with a comically oversized front wheel a wood-framed precursor to modern motorcycles Gottlieb Daimler and Wilhelm Maybach experimented with attaching a single-cylinder forms a direct link to the origins of motorized transport Also showcased is the first mass-produced model which necessitated its own chassis design to accommodate the weight of its two-cylinder engine making it the first to be officially called a “motorcycle.” It also pioneered the use of pneumatic tires The museum pays homage to American motorcycles featuring a 1917 Harley-Davidson J Model in olive green — a nod to the U.S.’ entry into World War I — and a pristine 1929 Indian Scout 101 showcasing the craftsmanship and style of early American bikes given that it was exported to Berlin as one of the last Indian motorcycles to reach the country before Nazi import duties made it practically impossible to get an American-made bike into Germany What struck me was the museum’s capacity to showcase the breadth of motorcycle history without feeling cluttered making it Germany’s largest museum of its kind QR codes for non-German speakers bridge the language gap effectively allowing visitors to unlock the stories behind the exhibits the exhibits’ narratives extend to the stories of exploration that capture the essence of motorcycle travel Sagas of adventurers like photographer Eitel Lange who circumnavigated the globe on a Zundapp KS 601 and sidecar complete with travel-worn stickers or journalist Guenter Markert’s around-the-world journey on a humble R50 scooter encapsulate the true spirit of the open road on two wheels I was reminded of the universal appeal of motorcycles in just such tales a visit is not only educational but also sure to be a source of inspiration for the next spring adventure once the winter chill is in the rear-view mirror Cost: Entry It built the R8 combustion sports car there, and Audi expanded the site a few years ago to include the production of the e-tron GT the “battery relocation is seen as a positive sign to the employees” Battery assembly at Böllinger Höfe makes sense for several reasons. Firstly, Audi has been pursuing the strategy of assembling the battery modules near its vehicle plants for years – the company operates module assembly centres in Brussels (Q8 e-tron) and Ingolstadt (Q6 e-tron) As Audi has decided to also build electric cars in all German plants in the future module production near Neckarsulm is an obvious choice And the Neckarsulm/Heilbronn region will become an “Audi competence centre for high-voltage batteries” – here it makes sense to have its own module production facility where Audi currently manufactures its upper mid-range and full-size models will likely be an important customer for the battery modules from the Böllinger Höfe the modules are intended for the “Progressive brand group,” in which the Audi Bentley and Lamborghini brands are bundled within the VW Group the manufacturer could supply some of the modules to England and Italy automobilwoche.de (in German) One of the latest bespoke creations by Audi Exclusive that hit our radar is this sweeping version of the Audi TT RS. production with workers at the automaker's specialist Böllinger Höfe plant in Neckarsulm The first customer cars are scheduled to roll off the line at the end of the year The plant is where Audi builds the R8 supercar and various racing models It needed to be expanded and upgraded to support the E-Tron GT The current E-Tron and E-Tron Sportback SUVs are built across the border in Belgium 2022 Audi E-Tron GT spy shots - Photo credit: S One of the key upgrades was a new body shop where Audi staff work closely with robots to assemble the E-Tron GT's high-strength steel and aluminum body the planning for the expansion and fit out of the Böllinger Höfe plant was all done virtually and helped greatly by the use of VR headsets The plant is also unique at the Volkswagen Group in that it will for the first time build two technically different cars on the same line one a battery-electric sedan and the other a V-10-powered Both models are moved through the plant using either self-driving sleds or a common monorail system Audi E-Tron GT pre-production at Böllinger Höfe plant in Neckarsulm it's then taken on a 25-mile test drive covering both suburban roads and highways specialist staff test the performance and also make sure all moving parts fit together exactly The car then goes through a water test to check for any leaks before it goes through a final test in a pair of consecutive light tunnels where staff look for any improper joins or gaps The E-Tron GT shares its J1 platform with the Porsche Taycan The E-Tron GT is expected to adopt the biggest battery designed for the platform The platform's fast-charging capability will mean E-Tron GT owners will be able to charge the battery to 80% in about 20 minutes The EPA-rated range will likely be somewhere around the 200-mile mark And so that it doesn't step on the toes of its Porsche sibling, expect the E-Tron GT to have a peak output of about 590 horsepower, positioning it somewhere between the Taycan 4S and Taycan Turbo A more potent RS version of the E-Tron GT is also coming Look for a debut of the E-Tron GT later this year It's expected on sale next year as a 2022 model By 2014-10-29T12:37:14 Audi has the four rings logo on its hood However, compared to other car brands in Germany, it was still a relatively small company, so in 1969 it was taken over by Volkswagen which merged NSU with Auto Union and brought the Audi brand back to life which would only go on to be sold until 1973 Among those last models was the NSU Prinz 4 a compact two-door sedan that was powered by a rear-mounted 598 cc air-cooled two-cylinder engine that made roughly 30 horsepower when it was new And it’s this model – a Prinz 4L built in 1971 specifically – that Audi chose to resurrect and modernize for the factory’s 150th anniversary the German brand gave the task of electrifying the aging classic to a team of 12 trainees In the end, just part of the original car survived the transformation: the old two-cylinder was replaced with a 240 hp electric motor that came out of a 2020 Audi e-tron, the tank that used to live under the front hood was yanked out and in its place a high-voltage battery pack from the plug-in hybrid Audi Q7 TFSI e quattro was installed took the place of the original underbelly of the car while the body was extensively modified and widened to be a good fit There’s also a pretty big rear spoiler that’s bolted directly to the roll cage which means that it goes through the rear window which stands for “Electric Prinz 4,” and was painted in Suzuka Grey and Brilliant Black while the huge rear wing got a splash of Signal Yellow the radical electric restomod is as bare-bones as it gets: a single-board computer and corresponding screen serve instruments and displays “The Says VW CEO Of course, this goes for just about any Audi Exclusive color since lots of people might not like their luxury saloon painted as such we could argue that Magnolia sort of walks the line between pearl white and beige which kind of makes it look like one of those typical Mercedes E-Class taxis from Germany But let’s not get too hung up on that since there are plenty of other cool things about this car completely unrelated to the exterior color let’s note (again) that we’re looking at an A8 L model which means that you automatically sacrifice a tiny bit of performance in order to have more room at the back the 0-100 km/h (62 mph) sprint time goes up by 0.2 seconds as do the fuel consumption numbers – however its borderline insignificant this car is good for 385 PS and 850 Nm (628 lb-ft) of torque giving it just enough pull to get you from looking luxurious to doing 100 km/h in 4.9 seconds The interior is obviously terrific in terms of quality though the color combination might not be to everyone’s liking It does look a bit too crowded in there what with all the Magnolia leather mixing it up with Saddle Brown leather Then you’ve got the aluminum inserts, the wooden trim and the Burgundy alcantara on the roof and on the pillars. center and production of the Audi R8 are already up and running in the Böllinger Höfe industrial park – situated around six kilometers from the main plant in Neckarsulm and the investment in the Audi Böllinger Höfe is a significant milestone for the Neckarsulm site,” explains Dr Through 2018 the company will be investing more than €22 billion worldwide About half of the Audi investment will go to the German sites with on average more than €650 million per year invested in the Neckarsulm site “This extension will substantially relieve the pressure on the plant as the growing range of models and production complexity increasingly require more space,” Waltl adds Neckarsulm is one of the plants with the greatest product diversity and complexity in the entire Volkswagen Group The Audi Böllinger Höfe site covers 23 hectares around a quarter of the total area of the plant in Neckarsulm Chairman of the Works Council in Neckarsulm comments: “With the commissioning of the Böllinger Höfe we are creating the necessary scope for further optimizing the structures at the Neckarsulm site And we managed to bring together central areas of quattro GmbH We are also creating more jobs in our region.” The Audi Böllinger Höfe site will also be home to the new R8 production facility which were previously accommodated separately at the Neckarsulm plant have now been brought together under a single roof pre-series and series production as well as quality assurance benefit from the rapid Hence the Neckarsulm site is also reinforcing its small-scale production competence The newly created production area can be used even more efficiently and flexibly thanks to technological and ergonomic innovations R8 production got underway in the Böllinger Höfe on August 25 – just under three weeks after the last Audi R8 came off the production line at the Neckarsulm plant the new logistics center started operating with around 22,500 storage places The logistics center is a central point for supplying materials for production Logistics experts handle around 4,500 containers a day which were processed in five external stores before the new facility was built are now being coordinated via a centralized location The result is further a reduction in shipments and transfer of truck traffic from the Heilbronn urban area to the industrial park Another improvement comes in the shape of the GPS tracking of individual shipments between the logistics center and the Neckarsulm plant The innovative live tracking enables schedules to be adjusted flexibly to the traffic situation and also optimizes routing “For the city of Heilbronn the Audi location is the largest industrial development for decades,” is how Lord Mayor Harry Mergel underlines the importance of the Audi Böllinger Höfe for the region Cars are set to be produced in Heilbronn once again after many years Further photos of the inauguration will be available from Friday October 17, 3:00 p.m.  online Neckarsulm: Dr Thomas Faustmann to succeed to Fred Schulze Current plant director Peter Kössler to move to Audi Hungaria Audi Board of Management Member for Production Prof. Dr. Hubert Waltl: “Peter Kössler has played a major part in the rapid growth of Audi in Ingolstadt” Fred Schulze will bring great experience as a current plant director Fred Schulze (48) is to be the new … Continued Fred Schulze (48) is to be the new director of the Audi plant in Ingolstadt as of October 1 where he currently holds the same position to the main site of the automobile manufacturer Schulze will succeed to Peter Kössler (56) after eight years as plant director in Ingolstadt Thomas Faustmann (52) as managing director Faustmann will be the new director of the Audi plant in Neckarsulm and continually growing those resources – those are the reasons for the personnel changes Audi Board of Management Member for Production “We will only remain mobile and capable of moving things forward when we expand our horizons and think beyond our own boundaries,” explained Waltl Waltl thanked Peter Kössler for his many years of service at the Audi plant in Ingolstadt and for his great contribution to the successful development of the site Peter Kössler has worked for our main plant with enormous commitment he has established Ingolstadt as the technologically leading plant within the Audi Group and as the second‑largest automobile plant in Europe A large number of models and new departments have continually been added such as the production facility in Münchsmünster Audi Neuburg and the planned IN‑Campus.” Kössler is also responsible for initiating the site infrastructure group the city of Ingolstadt and Audi have cooperated even more closely on the planning of infrastructure and traffic development Waltl welcomed the future plant director in Ingolstadt: “Like Peter Kössler Fred Schulze has been at the Volkswagen Group for more than 20 years In his previous positions in Neckarsulm – especially as plant director – he has gained a great store of experience and knowledge about Audi’s production processes In Schulze’s term of nearly four years as plant director Neckarsulm has strengthened its position as the Audi plant with the highest degree of model complexity.” Schulze has also been successful with the development of new logistics areas and the construction of the new Audi R8 factory at Böllinger Höfe The R8 V10 plus boasts 610 PS and 560 Nm (413 lb-ft) of torque allowing it to accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.2 seconds On the other hand, the R8 LMS comes with a modified version of the V10 plus’ 5.2-liter V10 putting down 585 PS (577 HP) with the help of a new six-speed sequential transmission The LMS also features a 39% increase in frame rigidity a lighter chassis and an intelligent material mix that dropped its weight to no more than 1,225 kg (2,700 lbs) In comparison, the R8 V10 plus weighs 1,630 kg (3,593 lbs), so you can probably imagine just how quick the race car is around a track compared to the road car – which is extraordinarily fast in its own right The build is currently on display at the Audi Forum in Neckarsulm Photos: Daniel Thullner The exterior is dressed in Navarra Blue Metallic and features LED headlights & taillights with dynamic turn signals as well as a sports leather steering wheel with a 3-spoke design Other features include Audi Virtual Cockpit a premium Bang & Olufsen sound system and Audi’s Rear Seat Entertainment system consisting of two tablets Photos: Daniel Thullner Photography on display at the Audi Forum in Neckarsulm is pulling out all the stops to impress onlookers It five-spoke alloys with a fancy arm-blade design and Matrix LED headlights look nice but what’s really impressive is how many “Audi Exclusive” bits you’ll find inside the cabin The seats are wrapped in Fine Nappa leather with a crimson/alabaster white dual tone look. Move around the cabin and you’ll find more leather, as well as Alcantara and carbon fiber in abundance though most of it can be found on the steering wheel and on the door panels The 3.0-liter TFSI unit is capable of producing 354 PS and 500 Nm (368 lb-ft) of torque which helps it hit 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 4.7 seconds or bover half a second quicker than the old model driving economically should help you average around 7.3 liters/100km (32.2 US mpg) To mark the 150th anniversary at the Audi site in Neckarsulm a dozen apprentices at Audi completely overhauled an iconic classic car into a modern EV On 8 July, the trainees from the automotive mechatronics, bodywork, and vehicle construction and painting courses proudly unveiled the ‘EP4.’ The ‘E’ stands for electric drive, and the ‘P4’ for the NSU Prinz 4 a model produced in Neckarsulm by NSU Motorenwerke from 1961 to 1973 The car was unveiled at an Audi corporate gathering called Family Day “We wanted to build a car that was not only fast and looked cool but also honored the 150th anniversary of the site,” says Dean Scheuffler an apprentice automotive mechanic at Audi in Neckarsulm The starting point: an NSU Prinz 4 built in 1971 which had been off the road for decades until its resurrection in January 2023 “The apprentices awoke this ‘prince’ from its slumber and fitted it with a new high-voltage heart,” Audi said But it was a long road from the project launch in January to the big reveal at Family Day and project managers exchanged views on the project‘s challenges The first task was to create a solid foundation for the conversion an apprentice bodywork and vehicle construction mechanic These areas were the first thing we fixed.” The electrified machine breathes through a wide air intake at the bottom of the bumper while heat can escape through a large opening in the front lid The tailgate also improves cooling and can be fixed in a half-open position it reveals the electric power plant and is reminiscent of historic racing cars based on the sporty NSU Prinz 1000 Where a row of open carburetor funnels gave onlookers clues about the sporting intentions of these cars back then it was clear that their EP4 should show that it began life as an NSU Prinz include not only the front and rear lights The body from the 1970s also retained its characteristic shoulder and roof lines The apprentices eliminated the rust and painted it in Audi colours – Suzuka Grey and Brilliant Black Accents such as the anniversary lettering “150” were applied to the side of the vehicle “We wanted the EP4’s performance to be visible from every angle,” explained Cynthia Huster, apprentice automotive painter. The rear wing, painted Signal Yellow, gives the EP4 a particularly sporty appearance. The twist: The wing is not attached to the bodywork, as in other vehicles, but to the roll cage. Its supports, therefore, go through the rear window. The Signal Yellow roll cage makes for an eye-catching contrast in the interior. Apart from that, the interior – typical of racing cars – is reduced to the essentials; all other painted surfaces are black. The occupants sit on Recaro Podium bucket seats. A computer and corresponding screen serve the instruments and displays. In all the steps, the trainees put the knowledge they had acquired during their training to practical use. Timo Engler, Head of Training Vehicle Technology/Logistics, said, “The project gave our apprentices a chance to work freely with different techniques and materials. For example, in addition to the electric drive, they used 3D printing, a second technology of the future. Carbon fibre – familiar from motorsports – was also used for the front hood.” Audi board member for human resources Xavier Ros was impressed with the unique project. “With admirable commitment and considerable creativity, our apprentices have built a tremendous car. They can be really proud of the result,” said Ros. Your email address will not be published. Required fields are marked * Save my name and email in this browser for the next time I comment.
