the action star is back to films and has okayed as many as five films

Now, Peepingmoon.com has learned that Sunny Deol has signed the Hindi remake of 2018 Malayalam crime-thriller Joseph
The Ghayal actor will be seen playing the role of Joju George and will essay a retired police officer with adept investigative skills in this film that develops through the life of four retired policemen
Chitrangda Singh who's been missing from the Bollywood limelight for the last three years has also been signed in to play a pivotal role
This film marks Singh's third new project after the upcoming thriller Bob Biswas with Abhishek Bachchan
and the recently-announced Pawan Kripalani's Gaslight co-starring Vikrant Massey and Sara Ali Khan

Filmmaker M Padmakumar who directed the original Malayalam film would helm the Hindi remake as well
He is currently in Mumbai to finalize the cast and crew and will kickoff the pre-production next month

Sunny Deol has been trying to do a South film remake for the past three years now
The actor was first supposed to star in Suriya's Tamil hit S3's Hindi remake in 2018 but the film was put on the backburner due to his creative differences with choreographer and director Ravi K Chandran
He was then signed by his producer friend Anuj Sharma for the remake of Mohanlal's Oppum where he was supposed to play an ex-army officer
LIE director Hanu Raghavapudi was brought on board to helm it
that film was also shelved after he entered into politics
Deol was doing a period film with Rajkumar Santoshi which was shelved after some time due to financial issues

“It’s not a remake of any South film
The character is different from what I have done till date,” Sunny had said recently while announcing the film.
PeepingMoon.com has got exclusive details on the film that will be bankrolled by Sunny’s regular collaborator
Sunny will be playing a blind army officer and the film’s tentatively titled The Blind Case
“The film is about an ex-army officer who is now blind and helps four youngsters in fighting off some evil
It’s believed to be along the lines of Priyadarshan’s 2016 Mohanlal crime-thriller Oppum which revolved around a blind man trying to protect a girl from a psycho killer,” a source close to the development said.

The film will be directed by South filmmaker Hanu Raghavapudi who helmed Telugu films like Andala Rakshasi
LIE and the short film, I Am Famous. The project was supposed to go on floors on April 5th in Mumbai but it’s now been delayed to May due to the nationwide lockdown
“Sunny has started preparing for his look as it requires a different kind of sculpted body
Although he has played a cop many times in his career
it’ll be the first time he will essay a man with visual impairment and he wants to do full justice to the character,” the source added.
Sunny is reportedly also considering a Netflix film and will take a call on it once the lockdown ends and life returns to normalcy
The actor was also working on Rajkumar Santoshi’s Fateh Singh project but that was recently put on hold after financial differences occurred between its producers.
