no.: 63.614.625) meets the requirements for reliable pre-analytics in Alzheimer’s disease diagnostics
The tube combines optimum low binding properties with standardized 75 × 13 mm dimensions for ideal handling and processing of this very special sample material
Thanks to the special low binding property
the high-quality material prevents the binding of Alzheimer’s disease biomarkers and allows for maximum recovery in the sample material for reliable dementia diagnostics
The CSF false-bottom tube is recommended as standard in the preanalytical consensus protocol and has already been validated for the new immunoassay generation from Roche
BIOFLOAT™ cell culture plates The novel SARSTEDT cell culture plates with highly anti-adhesive BIOFLOAT™ coating are ideally suited for easy
reproducible cultivation of particularly uniform
In addition to a generally improved quality
Sarstedt now offers optimized white color variants for better detection sensitivity in qPCR
we have expanded our PCR plate range with high-purity EtO-treated variants (Biosphere plus quality) as well as DNA & protein low binding variants
we offer the maximum and unsurpassed purity standard for an absolutely reliable absence of DNA or other biomolecules
The low binding variants are our contribution to the increasing use of PCR consumables for other applications
for sample storage of smallest volumes or for preparing dilution series so that all biomolecules can be recovered from the wells
One of the analyses most commonly used is the Enzyme-Linked Immunosorbent Assay (ELISA).With this method
even the smallest concentrations of a range of substances (proteins
hormones etc.) can be detected and quantified from complex solutions
The S-Monovette ThromboExact has been developed especially for anticoagulant-induced pseudothrombocytopenia
pseudothrombocytopenia is caused by thrombocyte aggregation.Early detection avoids the consequences of a thrombocytopenia misdiagnosis
This blood collection tube is validated internally by Sarstedt and externally at the Universiy Hospital Rostock
As the trend towards decreasing sample volumes continues
it is increasingly important to minimize potential interaction between the analyte and tube
Our low protein and new low DNA binding micro tubes are specifically designed to meet the requirements in protein and DNA analytics while maximizing recovery rates

Ohio – All that glitters was gold on Saturday afternoon as family and friends came from all over the nation dressed in sparkling gold outfits to celebrate Ruth Halpin on her 100th birthday
Lifetime Clevelander Ruth Halpin celebrates her 100th birthday surrounded by family and friends wearing gold and glitter
thrifted and recycled just about anything to wear and for her home
Halpin is known for her fashions and the jewelry she’s upcycled out of thrifted bits and pieces
She’s covered old shoes in recycled materials
made statement necklaces out of lighting fixture parts and embellished old hats with just about anything
even painted the family car using a broom and shiny blue house paint
because she thought it looked dingy,” said Halpin’s daughter Sue Sarstedt
“She even painted the shutters on the house a neon orange.”
Halpin was born in 1919 and raised on West 50th Street in Cleveland
They were married for 68 years when he died in 2010
he even drove that painted blue car around
he took her everywhere she wanted to go,” said Sarstedt
Together they raised eight children in North Olmsted
Her children all say the same things about her
“She was a little bohemian and wild,” said daughter Kathy Francesani
Halpin wears a dress she worked on and repurposed
13 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren to tell the stories of her flamboyant creativity
Francesani and Sarstedt wore necklaces made by their mother Ruth Halpin of light fixture parts
“She’s loved creating things out of things she found at thrift stores
She took things apart and redid them and that went for furniture
She likes bling and jewelry and is even known at the Welsh Home in Rocky River for dressing up every day,” said Francesani
“They would help her pick out a necklace only to come back to her room to find that she’d put on several more.”
Halpin's daughters Sue Sarstedt and Kathy Francesani had wonderful stories to share
Francesani thinks her favorite decade must have been the 1970s
“She went down to the bank to apply for a job processing credit cards and lied about her age
dyed her hair and took short dresses from my sister’s closet
always pushing us girls to learn to do everything while she spoiled our four brothers.”
is one of Halpin's great-granddaughters
She's modeling an embellished hat of Halpin's
It's a green straw hat covered in a fuzzy knit that was probably once a sweater or a scarf
“Our style was not her style,” said Sarstedt
“We didn’t have a lot of money and we wore uniforms to school
We could do our own thing on the weekends.”
lived with Halpin until she was about four
They say the art bug didn’t run wild in any of them except perhaps for her oldest granddaughter
who lived with Halpin until she was about four
“I like glimmer and metallic and I love to thrift
Son Bob Halpin says that he picked up sewing from his mother
“I think little bits of her creativity went to all of us.”
Halpin up cycled this piece of wall art with metallic paint
Halpin concentrated on embellishing things
She collected fabric and worked extensively on jewelry when husband Joe became ill
“She’s only really stopped making things in the last 10 years,” said Sarstedt
Her room at the Welsh Home is full of her work from a gold painted side table with leopard fur inset
a pile of colorful necklaces takes over the nightstand
Halpin's closet is full of sparkling clothes as she still likes to dress up every day
Her daughters say that she was always dressed to the nines
never owned a pair of blue jeans and was not shy about handing out a few critiques here and there
they all said the same thing: “Her faith.”
11 models one of her great-grandmother's embellished hats
She also made 100 cupcakes to feed the 50 plus guests at the 100th birthday party
“She’s always happy and she lives in the moment
She never worries about yesterday or tomorrow,” said Francesani
“She never did anything to excess,” Sarstedt continued
they worked hard and didn’t have money for those things and she was never an exerciser
‘I’ll wear out my body doing all of that stuff.’”
“She used to go to the thrift stores a day or two ahead of their dollar day sales
and she would hide things and come back on the sale day,” said grandson Ben Roeder
They agree that her favorite retail store was probably the May Co
these necklaces are piled high on her nightstand
Did she have a trick to living a long and healthy life
Francesani and Sarstedt say she was always on a diet
subscribed to Prevention Magazine and ate tons of garlic
She invented her own face creams made from sour buttermilk
“It smelled terrible,” they said in unison
One time she served us lemon soup,” said Sarstedt making a sour lemon face as she remembered it

ROCKY RIVER, Ohio – All that glitters was gold on Saturday afternoon as family and friends came from all over the nation dressed in sparkling gold outfits to celebrate Ruth Halpin on her 100th birthday.
For many weeks in the spring and summer of 1969, the names of Zizi Jeanmaire, the Aga Khan and Juan-les-Pins reverberated mellifluously around the British and international pop scene. They appeared in the lyrics of the chart-topping Where Do You Go to (My Lovely), written and sung by Peter Sarstedt, who has died aged 75.
Composed in waltz time, bookended by generic French-flavoured accordion phrases and with echoes of francophone chansonniers such as Georges Brassens and Jacques Brel, the song told the story of one Marie Claire, who had risen from the “back streets of Naples” to join the Mediterranean jet-set. When the similarity of this back-story to that of Sophia Loren was pointed out, Sarstedt was quick to state: “I really wasn’t thinking of anyone specific.”
He was born in Delhi, one of six children of English expatriates, Albert and Coral Sarstedt. Albert was an accountant who managed a tea plantation in the Darjeeling region of West Bengal. Following his death in 1954, the family moved to south London.
Peter played bass guitar in Eden Kane's backing group until, in 1965, his brother decided to move to Australia. Peter emigrated briefly to Copenhagen, where he began to write songs in a contemporary folk vein. Returning to London, he began a recording career as Peter Lincoln before reverting to his real name. In 1968 he signed to the United Artists label, but his first single, I Am a Cathedral, was unsuccessful.
He next came up with Where Do You Go to (My Lovely). Sarstedt later explained that he was following a trend for meaningful songs of more than three minutes' duration: "I wanted to write a long extended piece because I was working in folk clubs and universities."
The song stayed at No 1 for four weeks before making way for Marvin Gaye's I Heard It Through the Grapevine. Where Do You Go to (My Lovely) went on to top the charts throughout most of Europe as well as Australia and Japan, but its cosmopolitanism failed to excite record buyers in the US, where it sold poorly.
The follow-up single, Frozen Orange Juice, was a Top 10 hit later in 1969, but further records were not commercially successful, although Sarstedt's compositions continued to find admirers: one reviewer described the song Beirut as "an entire novel of Eric Ambler complexities in three minutes".
Sarstedt was twice married and had two children, Anna and Daniel.
