Takeda Pharmaceuticals opened a vaccine manufacturing plant in Singen
for the production of its dengue vaccine candidate
The plant will perform end-to-end production and packaging of TAK-003
which is being investigated in a pivotal phase three trial
Tetravalent Immunization against Dengue Efficacy Study (TIDES)
The ground-breaking ceremony of the plant was held in 2016
Takeda will invest more than €130m ($145m) in the state-of-the-art facility
The facility is expected to expand Takeda’s global footprint in vaccine manufacturing outside Japan
while allowing the company to combat the universal threat of dengue
Dengue is considered an endemic in more than 120 countries and is one of the fastest spreading mosquito-borne viral diseases
The World Health Organization (WHO) estimates that approximately 390 million dengue infections and 20,000 deaths occur a year worldwide
Singen was selected as the strategic location for Takeda’s dengue vaccine manufacturing plant due to the availability of an expert workforce in lyophilisation technology
crucial in the production of TAK-003 vaccine
The production plant will perform formulation
fill-and-finish and packaging of the TAK-003 vaccine
It employs a high degree of automation and state-of-the-art digital and data-driven technologies
The data-driven manufacturing environment allows for real-time monitoring of the plant’s performance
providing superior quality assurance delivered to the patients at the final stage
TAK-003 is a tetravalent dengue vaccine developed by Takeda
It is a live-attenuated dengue serotype two virus (DENV-2)
the genetic backbone for all four vaccine virus stereotypes including DEN-1
The drug has demonstrated its effectiveness in generating an immune response in phase one and two trials and was safe and well-tolerated
double-blind and randomised placebo-controlled TIDES trial is being conducted to evaluate the safety
efficacy and immunogenicity of TAK-003 in healthy children living in the dengue-endemic countries of Latin America and Asia
More than 20,000 healthy children aged between four and 16 have been enrolled for the clinical study
showed that the experiment met the primary endpoint
The drug was effective in preventing dengue caused by any of the four virus stereotypes
Additional data from the clinical trial will be published towards the end of 2019
along with data from separate phase three clinical trials
The vaccine is currently not approved anywhere in the world
TAK-003 vaccine is being developed to protect children and adults living in or travelling to endemic areas against all four stereotypes of dengue viruses
Takeda Pharmaceuticals is a global biopharmaceutical company

a significant star in the system that marked the transition from classicism to romanticism in late eighteenth century Middle Europe
and a man with one foot firmly planted in each camp
His poetry has been preserved largely because of Franz Schubert’s affection for it
and this Lied is surely one of Schubert’s most accomplished
He starts with a long sustained A flat minor
which warms up to an A flat major–it seems to be the movement between two different worlds
One is the red light of the day’s last glimmerings
and the other the dark afterworld that follows it
Schubert’s composition carefully marks the theme of the poem
the “rocking” of the boat–note how skillfully Schubert does this
as he springs up an octave and then back down
with a quick punctuation suggesting the movement of a rudder
But in doing this he is not just tracking the natural rhythm of the waves
but also the technique that Stolberg chose for the same purpose: note that his poem can be examined as a series of couplets
each with a line and a counter-line which contain language and images which are similar–but never quite the same
The poem suggests a state of approaching somnolence
The world is seen in an eerily reddish light
Darkness will soon close about and the image
The total effect of the song mirrors that of the poem
It is a curious series of juxtapositions and pairings–introspective and carefree
straining to seize a moment of beauty and warmth
yet aware of the approach of darkness and death
Romanticist ideas have been suffused in a classical medium
Listen to Dietrich Fischer-Dieskau sing Franz Schubert’s setting of this song

The mall is owned by the ECE European Prime Shopping Centre Fund II
The project was developed by German real estate specialist ECE at an estimated cost of €165m ($200m)
Construction of the shopping centre began in July 2018 following the issuance of the building permit by the city of Singen in May 2018
The shopping centre attracts visitors from the Lake Constance area to Singen
helping to revive the retail trade in the city
Cano mall is located in the city centre of Singen
opposite the Singen main train station on the main shopping street at August-Ruf-Strasse
Located close to the Lake Constance region and Switzerland border
The Cano shopping gallery has 16,000m² of sales area with 85 stores spread across three levels
The centre includes approximately 500 parking spaces and 250 bicycle spaces across two levels above the shopping levels
Dark stone was used to cover the facade that is inspired by the lava stone of the surrounding Hegau region
The sparkling gold design elements of the surface provide a high-quality appearance and contrast the dark facade
Large shop windows in the basement provide outdoor views
The architecture and interior design with layered ceiling represent the industrial tradition of the city and the volcanic legacy of the region
The lighting concept of the mall was inspired by organic architecture and visually connects indoor and outdoor spaces
It also supports a connection between the flowing natural themes and the open industrial charm
Plastic 3D lens special lights have been used for the basic lighting to create a glare-free brilliance effect
Arranged in irregular organic swarm patterns
the lights highlight the industrial ceiling structures with anodised materials
The lights change their colour temperature during the day in a spectrum from 1,800K to 4,000K
The basic lighting of the corridors includes glare-free invisible lighting for the illumination of the traffic zones from a black channel
Narrow cones of light and 4,000K cool light accents from the blacklight channel have been installed at various traffic junctions of the mall
The smoked glass pendant and wall lights have been used in the interior of the shopping centre
The Cano shopping mall features stores of renowned brands such as Tommy Hilfiger
Anchor tenants include the grocery stores Edeka and Norma
and a small department drugstore of Müller
The mall also includes sports stores including Decathlon
Suppliers from the region include the Auer dealership group with the first BMW concept in Germany and other retailers such as Alexander Heitz from Constance
The shopping centre features different services such as lounge areas, mobile phone charging stations, and a digital signage system
which is connected to the Digital Mall of ECE to allow for online trade
The ground floor of the mall houses food retailers such as Dean & David
It offers a balanced mix of national and international food retailers from the region

ECE opens its last new shopping project for the time being
reveals in an interview which new store concepts the city of 50,000 inhabitants in the Lake Constance region can look forward to
Why the Swiss love to come across the border to shop and how Corona has made leasing difficult on the last few meters
We have succeeded in bringing many new names to Singen - especially in the fashion sector
but also a modern sneaker supplier like Snipes
With Dean & David and "Hans im Glück" we have also acquired brands with format in the gastronomy sector
A strong focus is naturally again on local retailers
So this time we deliberately chose not to go for Douglas
Alexander Heitz is a great supplier of bags and leather goods with an extremely high-quality and modern look
a very popular and successful café from the region presents itself in the center
In short: We were able to attract many attractive local and regional partners to the Cano and have created a perfect mix together with the internationally known brands
Was it difficult to lure large chain stores to Singen
H&M is already represented in the pedestrian zone - as are TK Maxx
He now presents himself in a very valuable way at our Cano with a strong focus on the Swiss audience with its strong purchasing power
The Drogerie Müller will also expand massively with a small department store on two floors
Another highlight as a major tenant is Decathlon - the only store far and wide in my view
It will be a huge draw and will work great
We have also brought another big cult to the center
The nearest border crossing at Tayngen is only a few kilometers away
this crossing is the second strongest after Basel
So proximity to Switzerland is highly decisive
Singen has a sensational centrality rating of just under 190
From Zurich it is only about 40 minutes by car
Is it particularly attractive for the Swiss to shop here
the Swiss find it much cheaper to shop in Germany
especially clothing and especially perfume and drugstore items
Income in Switzerland is almost twice as high as in Germany
But not only the price is favorable for the Swiss
They also benefit significantly from tax refunds
What else distinguishes Singen as a location
from a developer's point of view: If we develop a project like this
we want to keep and manage it sustainably for the next 30 to 40 years
That means we look: Where is the best location in the city
We are located directly opposite the train station
which is currently being completely redesigned
The new bus station is right outside the door
Singen is the only city in the Lake Constance area with excellent freeway connections
Another important location advantage: the city is home to many large employers
a large Japanese pharmaceutical group that is currently expanding
The aluminum and steel industry is based in Singen
There are also many suppliers and service providers
So in short - Singen is the large industrial city in the region
we have created an attractive marketplace in the city center
You can already see the initial impetus the shopping center has given the city
Not just the upgrading of the station forecourt or the pedestrian zone
The Cano will once again massively enhance the entire city and put it in a different light
The entire pedestrian zone will be redesigned and upgraded
Of course there is always a bit of regional rivalry with constancy
old building structure and the location on the lake
can score points with its much better accessibility and has always been the big shopping city.
That's more important than ever in these difficult times
We offer many synergies for trading partners
Our leasing management looks at which product ranges really fit together well
This is still not the case in retail or street locations
On the contrary: I hear again and again from brokers or owners that there are often immense disputes there
That's different with us: we make sure that we achieve a good mix of sectors within a shopping center
We have a well-run management team that helps and supports the tenants
even in the current situation when official regulations are imposed
It is also important that we act as a unit externally
This means that if the customer decides to come to the city or to our center
he will receive the full range of services
What role does Corona currently play in the rental business
There is of course a lot of uncertainty about how the Corona theme will develop
These are topics that cause a lot of uncertainty
our retail partners know that they have a solid basis with us
They know that we are a reliable and good partner
Which is what hit us earlier: Many companies have put a complete stop to expansion for this year and have not released any more budgets for new locations
We had to think of ways to achieve our goals together
That was much more challenging than in normal times
we are very happy to have won a family shoe store for the Cano with Görtz
The situation is different in the sneaker segment
You can see the trend reversal: Even wearing sneakers with a suit is now completely in line with the trend
What is your personal highlight at Cano rental
I was actually most pleased when I succeeded in getting regional dealers
who were initially opponents of the center
enthusiastic about the Cano and also came to a conclusion with them
That was always a personal challenge for me
Chain stores tend to be driven by numbers and rationality
you can only win over a regional retailer who knows the region like the back of his hand and has all the local connections and networks
those were always the best deals and successes
The Cano is the last new shopping center built by ECE for the time being
I've always loved to watch the projects grow like my own babies and develop them further
It is simply the current market development
I believe there are many exciting fields for takeovers and revitalization in the future
we will also be faced with high-level challenges in the portfolio
One thing is certain: trade is change - this motto applies more than ever
You are constantly dynamic in the market and have to deal with the corresponding changes
Nils Hoffmann studied real estate economics and business administration
Since 2002 he has been working in the letting department at ECE
he was responsible for three different regional areas for a wide variety of portfolio properties, refurbishment and new construction projects
He is currently responsible for the LÖ office building in Lörrach as a new building and the Cano in Singen
“Of course,” Mangold said when asked if Chalamet was singing for real
Timothée Chalamet will show off his pipes in James Mangold’s Bob Dylan biopic
“First being embraced into the family of folk music in New York and then
kind of outrunning them at a certain point as his star rises so beyond belief.”
Mangold referenced other characters in the film like Woody Guthrie
saying “they all have a role to play in this movie.”
And when asked if Chalamet would be singing
Mangold immediately responded “Of course.”
The French actor sang “Everything Happens” by Chet Baker in the 2019 Woody Allen film “A Rainy Day in New York,” and he told British Vogue that he would perform seven musical numbers in the upcoming “Wonka,” in which he will star as the iconic candyman character based on Roald Dahl’s book
Chalamet’s role in “Call Me by Your Name” confirmed that he can also play piano and guitar
The untitled film will watch the Nobel Prize-winning singer-songwriter’s first ascend to the top of the folk music scene before he pivots to rock and roll.
Chalamet will also be seen in the upcoming “Dune Part 2” alongside Austin Butler (“Elvis”), Florence Pugh, Zendaya and Dave Bautista. He will reprise his role of Paul Atreides, a young ruler at the center of a galactic conflict.
Bob Dylan’s manager, Jeff Rosen, will produce the biopic with Veritas Entertainment Group’s Bob Bookman, Alan Gasmer and Peter Jaysen. Automatik’s Fred Berger, The Picture Company’s Alex Heineman and director Mangold will also produce. Dylan will executive produce with Brian Kavanaugh-Jones and Andrew Rona.

Print You may say Gal Gadot is a dreamer for thinking a celebrity sing-along would help regular people feel better about a pandemic
On Wednesday, the “Wonder Woman” star enlisted a slew of her famous friends — including Will Ferrell
Zoë Kravitz and more — to film a tag-team cover of John Lennon’s “Imagine” and shared it on Instagram to millions of followers
The video, inspired by viral footage of self-quarantined Italians making music together from their balconies
features each of its all-star participants relaying the classic tune’s inspiring lyrics via selfie cam to one another

and I gotta say that these past few days got me feeling a bit philosophical
This virus has affected the entire world — everyone
Doesn’t matter who you are or where you’re from
Other celebs featured in the “Justice League” actress’ three-minute clip include Kristen Wiig
Cara Delevingne and Gadot’s “Wonder Woman” predecessor
Not everyone was feeling the camaraderie, though, as many took to Twitter to drag Gadot and her prominent buddies for being
“What would I do without celebrities posting videos on social media telling us little people it’s going to be okay?” one user sarcastically wrote
“Celebrities at home thinking ‘How can we stay relevant?’” another tweeted
“Ah yes — sing a song from our plush mansions talking about a world with no possessions
This video is worse than the actual virus!”

the mini passion project had the intended uplifting effect
“Always haters,” one person replied
Critics of the star-studded montage echo the frustrations of many who feel the rich and famous have received special treatment during the pandemic
pointing to the likes of NBA standout Kevin Durant and the rest of his Brooklyn Nets teammates
The Nets players and other public figures have been able to get checked for the coronavirus — without showing symptoms, in some cases — despite a well-documented shortage of tests, raising concerns of inequality.
“We will get through it together,” Gadot wrote in her Instagram caption. “Let’s imagine together. Sing with us. All love to you, from me and my dear friends.”

A musical tradition has more weight than ever as Estonia looks hard at its neighbour Russia following its invasion of Ukraine

there is nothing out of the ordinary in Down Cafe located in one of the more well off neighborhoods of Istanbul
"Down Cafe was established to create employment and increase the self-confidence of young people with Down syndrome," said Saruhan Singen
who opened the cafe in Sisli district of Istanbul
who is also currently employed in the cafe
"I have Sezil and I think she is a gift to me to understand others like her," said Singen as employees navigate between white tables
orange chairs surrounded by colorful walls full of pictures of themselves and of paintings of their own making
when we think about the number of people with Down syndrome
there is not a wide range of career paths in," said Singen
Down syndrome is a genetic disorder that influences development throughout life
causing intellectual and physical disability and associated medical issues
according to UK-based charity Down Syndrome International (DSI)
affecting approximately 1 in 800 live births
depending on the mother's age and on prenatal screening rates
around 220,000 babies are born every year with the condition
According to Turkey's National Down Syndrome Association
nearly 1,500 babies are born each year with Down syndrome in Turkey
There are more than 100,000 people in the country with the disorder
"Improved medical care is absolutely essential for these special kids but it is more important that we must do everything possible to help them live more independent and fulfilling lives," Singen said
A joint project of the Istanbul Foundation for Mentally Disordered People and of Sisli municipality
the cafe is sponsored by Alternative Life Association
which was established to increase awareness on issues affecting socially and physically disadvantaged people
business was slow as potential customers hesitated to enter
Those who did enter the café appeared aloof but
"I think the cafe also helps people get rid of their prejudices against disabled people and provides a chance to people with Down syndrome to prove themselves and show off their talents," Singen said
The employees work alternately and receive a monthly salary
"We have volunteer mothers helping us in the kitchen by cooking and washing dishes while Sisli Municipality pays our bills," explains Singen
"They want to be together with more people
they want to be accepted by the society and they want their talents to be discovered," says Singen

you can be the bestYou can be the King Kong bangin' on your chestYou can beat the world
go bangin' on his doorYou can throw your hands up
you can beat the clockYou can move a mountain
don't wait for luckDedicate yourself and you can find yourselfStanding in the hall of fame (Yeah)And the world's gonna know your name (Yeah)'Cause you burn with the brightest flame (Yeah)And the world's gonna know your name (Yeah)And you'll be on the walls of the Hall of FameWhen I was six years old
I broke my legI was running from my brother and his friendsAnd tasted the sweet perfume of the mountain grass I rolled downI was younger then
Found my heart and broke it hereMade friends and lost them through the yearsAnd I've not seen the roaring fields in so longI know I've grown
but I can't wait to go homeStanding in the hall of fame (Yeah)And the world's gonna know your name (Yeah)'Cause you burn with the brightest flame (Yeah)And the world's gonna know your name (Yeah)And you'll be on the walls of the Hall of FameYou might also likeBe a championBe a championBe a championBe a championThese shallow waters
