Tettnang’s fame as a hop growing centre now reaches far beyond the regional borders
The fine aroma and the subtle bitterness give the beers an unmistakable character and each sip provides a taste of the unique landscape between the northern banks of Lake Constance and Allgäu
This year the HCG/HPV Tettnang celebrates 170 years of hop cultivation
Compared with other German hop growing areas
hop cultivation in Tettnang is a rather recent phenomenon
It started out in a situation of great need among the local population
Agriculture in the Land of Baden Württemberg was down after several crop failures and the widespread Rinderpest
but also as a result of the Napoleonic Wars
(founder of the Cannstatter Volksfest) urgently recommended to start cultivating hops
the first trials started in Hohenheim upon royal decree
a memorial plaque bears witness to what followed: seven citizens of Tettnang took the initiative and planted Tettnang’s first model hop yard in 1844
the Lake Constance area gained access to the world market by railway
which facilitated the further development of hop cultivation
In the Kingdom of Württemberg the famous Swabian Railway connected the Lake to the City of Stuttgart
Bavaria built railway lines from Munich to Lindau and Austria built the Arlbergbahn up to Bregenz which made Eastern Europe more accessible
this was when hop cultivation in Tettnang really took off
because seasonal workers were now able to travel to Tettnang (hand picking up until ca
and the hop cones could be delivered to clients and markets
When Fidelis von Lentz first recommended cultivating hops
the area under hops in Tettnang only amounted to 3 hectares
But within one decade this rapidly expanded to 91 hectares under hops
hop cultivation had long outgrown vineyards in Tettnang
Vine cultivation continued to shrink and the hop yards further expanded to about 650 hectares in 1884
The area under hops then leveled off at 550 – 700 ha both during the turn of the century and the First and the Second World War
During that time there was another pioneer to help hop cultivation along: Israel Friedrich Wirth on the Kaltenberg Estate (the so-called Hops Castle)
Numerous techniques and devices can be traced back to his ingenuity
all of which can be found in “Wirths Hopfenbuch” (Wirth’s Book on Hops
he succeeded in making Tettnang the location for the first German Hops Exibition
He initiated quality competitions and often won gold medals for finest Tettnang aroma hops at international competitions
with the end of state-controlled hops cultivation
Tettnang also gained an international reputation as a renowned producer of the finest aroma hops
the hop farmers founded their first association
the Association of German Hop Growers Tettnang
1950 – 1970 may be considered a period of mechanisation
the four first automatic picking machines reached Tettnang
Tettnang had reached its record number of hop farmers
but with only an average of 0.57 ha area under hops per holding (a total of 785 ha)
with the introduction of the experimental hop farm Tettnang-Straß
was decisive for breeding and research: a rigorous clonal selection of the Tettnang variety and the worldwide very first “production” of virus-free hop rhizomes in 1984 are but a few examples of this institute’s work
laying the foundation for the competitiveness of the Tettnang hops cultivation area to this day
the Tettnang Hop Producer Organisation was founded
which in 2001 merged with the HVG Elbe-Saale and the HVG Hallertau to form the HVG Hop Processing Cooperative
cultivation in Tettnang reached its peak at 1659 ha in 1997
owing to export successes in the US and Asia
sustainable production and quality took a quantum leap with the introduction of the neutral quality assessment framework NQF and Integrated Production (IP)
Further important steps on the way to guarantee top quality and reliability for national and international breweries were the introduction of the quality assurance system Baden Württemberg QZBW and systematic plant protection monitoring in 2011 as well as the implementation of a sustainability concept from 2014
the brand was finally granted PGI status (Protected Geographical Indication) from the European Union
Tettnang will continue to be characterized by its broad variety of aroma hops
the decision was taken to start cultivating further varieties in addition to the superior aroma varieties Tettnanger and Hallertauer Mittelfrueh
This served to spread risks as well as peak workloads
It also made it possible to offer clients the entire range of varieties from the “Tettnang Delicatessen” range
the superior aroma variety Tettnanger remains the core competence of Tettnang hop growers
making up about two thirds of the area under hops
they cultivate the Hüller varieties and even the new Flavour Hops
Hop growers in Tettnang will remain in close contact with their faithful clients of many years
and will also establish new contacts with interested creative brewers
In line with the general trend of concentration in the brewing industry and in hops trade
the number of holdings in Tettnang is shrinking
due to a changing environment and a tendency to close ranks
but the remaining holdings are larger and more competitive than before
Tettnang has 150 holdings with an annual production of 1,500 – 2,000 tons on 1,200 ha (just under 3% of the global total)
mostly combined with a broad variety of fruit cultivation
making the best possible use of the climatic advantages of the Lake Constance area
And should the saying “no beer without hops and no hops without beer” remain valid for the next 170 years - and there are good reasons to believe that this will be the case - then finest aroma hops from Tettnang will continue to be used in brewing tanks all over the world

The bitter taste of hops is used in beer to flavour the many varieties of lagers and ales
researchers have found its additional quality: beer hops might have unique health benefits for those with Alzheimer’s disease
This is because the chemicals extracted from hop flowers can, in lab dishes, inhibit the clumping of amyloid beta proteins
which is associated with Alzheimer’s disease (AD)
Alzheimer’s is a debilitating neurodegenerative disease, which often causes memory loss and personality changes in older adults
Part of the difficulty in treating the disease is the time lag between the start of underlying biochemical processes and the onset of symptoms
This entails that damage to the nervous system frequently occurs before people can even realise they may have the disease.
In order to expand research into the prevention of the disease, researchers, who have published their work in ACS Chemical Neuroscience
investigated “nutraceuticals” – which are foods that have some type of medicinal or nutritional function
The nutraceuticals used in this research were beer hops
indicate a potential interfere with the accumulation of amyloid beta proteins associated with Alzheimer’s
Looking at which chemical compounds in hops had this effect
the researchers created and characterised extracts of four common varieties of hops using a method similar to that used in the brewing process
they found that the extracts had antioxidant properties and could prevent amyloid beta proteins from clumping in human nerve cells
The most successful extract was from the Tettnang hop
found in many types of lagers and lighter ales
The extract of the Tettnang beer hop was separated into fractions
the one containing a high level of polyphenols showed the most potent antibiotic and aggregation-inhibiting activity
It also promoted processes that allow the body to clear out misfolded
researchers found that it protected the worms from AD-related paralysis
The researchers say that although this work may not justify drinking more bitter brews
it shows that hop compounds could serve as the basis for nutraceuticals that combat the development of AD

First look inside pFriem Family Brewers Milwaukie taproom
Portland’s family-owned premium grocer Zupan’s Markets, has collaborated with Living Häus Beer Co for the 29th installment of their farm-to-market beer series to release an easy-drinking Japanese Style Lager
Light and crisp with floral and berry notes
the Japanese Style Lager offers a refreshing palate-cleansing finish
Japanese lagers feature a high amount of flaked rice (about 20% in this case)
This less fermentable rice creates a light
lower alcohol beer with a crisp body and clean finish
The Living Häus Beer Co Japanese Style Lager is light straw yellow with a fluffy white head
and is made with Tettnang hops and Pilsner Malt
The result is a light bready aroma with notes of slightly fruity hops to the nose. With a 5.2% ABV
this lager pairs well with grilled salmon with ponzu sauce
spicy seared ahi tuna or crisp tempura vegetables served with wasabi and soy sauce.
Living Häus Beer Co is located in Portland
OR and is co-owned by Conrad Andrus and Mat Sandoval
With a combined 20 years of professional brewing experience
the business partners have become creators
and critical thinkers while on their path to brew the best beers they can.
The farm-to-market brew will debut exclusively at Zupan's Markets in 16oz cans priced at $3.99/can
four-packs are available for $14.99.

Details: Widely available; $10.99 for a six-pack; 5.3% alcohol by volume
Thoughts: While perusing the coolers at the local carryout recently
I wanted to break my usual habits of stouts and Imperial IPAs and go for something a bit different
Not necessarily “blueberry vanilla wheat sour aged in rum barrels” different
I’ve had Victory beers before — HopDevil IPA
to name one that’s available in these parts — but never the Prima Pils
and German-style Pilsners aren’t usually my first choice
I was pleasantly surprised by this beer’s flavor profile
The label lists four German hops (Tettnang
for those keeping score at home) along with Pilsner malt
and the hops carry the day — a bonus in my book
Yet this is definitely a Pilsner and not an IPA in disguise
It’s light-bodied with with notes of lemon
and its 5.3% ABV helps it go down nice and easy
Though central Ohio hasn’t hit summertime temperatures quite yet
this is a beer I definitely will consider for those 87-degree days on the back patio in July
And those days can’t get here soon enough for me

There are a number of breweries best known for their ale offerings that have been releasing lager beers on a larger scale than previously
An example is Deschutes and its Pacific Wonderland lager
which is a year-round offering from the brewery
Two kinds of German Hallertau hops — Herkules and Mittelfruh — are used in the beer
along with Tettnang Mandarina to kick up the citrus aspect
It keeps the beer simple by only using pilsner malt
Wonderland provides all the basics of a good lager — a crystal-clear gold body
The half-inch head eventually settled to an eighth-inch for the duration of the sampling
The aromas were of fresh grain and floral hops
with a bit of lemon and orange citrus in the background
RELATED: Tropical pale ale is a nice discovery
RELATED: Blimey That's Bitter gets intense
The flavor of light malt provided an initial soft mouthfeel that was balanced by the crisp carbonation and clean finish
There is a bit of bitterness in the beer that is more noticeable in the finish
but is just enough to balance the malt sugars
Wonderland is classified as an American pale lager style
It certainly drinks like a German-style lager — I would say its bitterness is in the same range as a typical pilsner and the citrus of the hops
Deschute also has available its Swivelhead Red India Style Red Ale (6.5-percent ABV)
which is more typical of the hoppy ales the brewery is known for
Swivelhead does a nice job of highlighting the basics of the beer without any of the ingredients becoming obnoxious
The clear copper color of the beer contained red highlights and the caramel malt provided a full mouthfeel with a dry background and finish
The Deschutes website lists the International Bittering Units of Swivelhead at 70
yet the beer did not have intense bitterness and it did not affect the ability to pick out the hop and malt flavors
Deschutes is distributed in 28 states; its Beer Finder link is at www.deschutesbrewery.com/beer-finder

We simulate the effect of weather conditions on hop yield and alpha content with a newly developed model
The model requires air temperature and precipitation records for input
We then discuss how hop farmers can implement innovative adaptation measures to stabilize international markets under predicted global warming
Average values calculated for two periods (1970-1994 and 1995-2018): yields (dashed blue and red)
alpha (dashed green and brown) and cone development (dashed turquoise and purple)
We found that sunshine duration at the time of heading was positively correlated with alpha content at p < 0.01
The lowest hop yields were negatively affected by a lack of precipitation
while the lowest values of alpha content were caused by extremely high temperatures
High temperatures and sunshine duration caused a sharp drop in alpha content in 2006 in all study areas
The estimated model risk of a decrease in alpha content was the consistently low production that occurred in 2006 in all hop regions in Europe
When temperature and light extremes occurred
most growing areas tended to be negatively affected
and production from other areas could not cover any losses

Obtaining more detailed measurements and observations directly from hop gardens will allow more detailed seasonal climate analysis in the future and thus improve existing models
reduce agricultural greenhouse gas emissions and increase carbon sequestration
All factors will affect the economics and prospects for the future of aroma hop cultivation in Europe
this study demonstrates a climate-induced decline in the quality and quantity of traditional aroma hops across Europe and calls for urgent adaptation measures to stabilize international market chains
The obtained layers were then used to calculate the average daily and monthly temperatures and precipitation totals for the selected hop-farming areas
The combined average of the three global mean emissions models (CSIRO MK36; GISS-E2-R-CC; and HadGEM2-ES) was used to simulate the future evolution of yields and alpha contents in 2021–2050 (future) for comparison with those in 1989-2018 (present)
The analysis is presented in detail for 5 selected sites and then for 59 ELPIS sites representing all EU and UK hop-producing regions

Consumer Feedback Will Determine Three Beers for Fall Sampler Pack
one best argued over a bottle or pint. Its name is "Project 12." Twelve Anheuser-Busch brewmasters at Budweiser's 12 geographically dispersed breweries worked together to create their own "tribute" beers to fit the Budweiser brand's reputation for quality and consistency
The assignment pays homage to Budweiser's "clean and crisp" taste by using the proprietary yeast directly descended from the original Budweiser yeast culture used by Adolphus Busch in 1876 and still used by Budweiser today
the 12 small-batch beers - each a lager using all-natural ingredients - were pared to six to take part in a summer-long
Consumer feedback will help Budweiser narrow the six beers to three for inclusion in a limited-edition sampler pack
"We asked our Budweiser brewmasters to each submit a beer idea in styles that consumers have shown interest in," said Rob McCarthy
Our brewmasters have been working in small teams this spring and early summer to perfect these six and now it's time for consumers to let us know what they think."
N.Y.; Newark,N.J.; Williamsburg,Va.; Cartersville
Each small batch Budweiser is distinguished by the ZIP code where the beer is brewed
Among the six beers being sampled this summer and the brewmasters behind them:
Budweiser Small Batch 91406 (Los Angeles): A deep-amber lager with 6 percent ABV that uses four different types of hops
The beer is brewed by brewmaster Bryan Sullivan in Los Angeles and was developed in collaboration with Scott Ungermann in Fairfield and Dave Cohen in Houston
Louis): A deep-gold 5 percent ABV American lager that uses the same types of hops (Hallertau and Tettnang) commonly used at the St
Louis brewery during the 19th century. The beer is brewed in St
Louis by brewmaster Jim Bicklein and was developed in collaboration with Katie Rippel from Fort Collins
Budweiser Small Batch 43229 (Ohio): A light-amber lager using eight different types of hops with 6 percent ABV. The beer is brewed in Columbus
and was the brainchild of the brewery's general manager
Kevin Lee and developed with assistant brewmasters Travis Burge and Tyler Hunter
Budweiser Small Batch 23185 (Virginia): A light-amber all-malt bourbon cask lager aged on bourbon staves and vanilla beans and with an ABV of 5.5 percent
The beer is brewed by Daniel Westmoreland in Williamsburg and was developed in collaboration with Mike Anderson in Jacksonville and Dan Kahn in Cartersville
Budweiser Small Batch 13027 (New York): A bright-golden lager brewed with six imported and domestic hops and with an ABV of 7 percent. The beer is brewed in Baldwinsville
by brewmaster Nick Mills in consult with general manager Steve McCormick
Budweiser Small Batch 80524 (Colorado): A deep-gold
filtered wheat beer with 5.2 percent ABV using lemon peel
orange peel and coriander. The beer is brewed by Katie Rippel in Fort Collins and was developed by Nick Mills in Baldwinsville
Otto Kuhn in Merrimack and Tiago Darocha in Newark
"The key to this project was the common yeast - which is a very important and often under-appreciated contributor to the flavor and aroma of beer," said Jane Killebrew-Galeski
"We are proud of all these beers - the variety and the quality - but we want consumer feedback
we're looking forward to what we hear when we sample this summer
Our objective is to allow our brewmasters to show some creativity
but the beers must fit the hallmarks the Budweiser brand is respected for
Anheuser-Busch's commitment to quality and spirit of innovation are at the foundation of the company's history and continue to be it defining characteristics. This passion helped the company expand from a local St
Louis brewery to a leader in the industry. Today
Budweiser's recipe for success brings together its proud heritage and talented teams to brew
package and sell some of the most popular beers in the world
The six sampler beers also will be sampled during "Budweiser Made in America" over Labor Day weekend in Philadelphia
The two-day music festival benefits United Way and will culminate following a summer of music parties in cities all across America in which Budweiser will invite its Facebook fans to experience talented local bands and artists and sample some of these news beers along with local food in Los Angeles
was introduced in 1876 when company founder Adolphus Busch set out to create the United States' first truly national beer brand - brewed to be universally popular and transcend regional tastes
Each batch of Budweiser follows the same family recipe used by five generations of Busch family brewmasters. Budweiser is a medium-bodied
crisp and pure beer with blended layers of premium American and European hop aromas
brewed for the perfect balance of flavor and refreshment. Budweiser is made using time-honored methods including "kraeusening" for natural carbonation and Beechwood aging
which results in unparalleled balance and character. The brand celebrates great times and has used the phrase "Grab Some Buds" in advertising since 2010

That small size provides an outlet for some very creative brews
Small batches often allow a brewer to try things that would be too cost-prohibitive or risky to make on a larger system
is a black rye imperial saison that typifies the kind of creative beer that a brewer can make on this kind of small-batch system
What is it? Alferd black rye imperial saison from the Parched Eagle of Westport.
Style: Alferd is a variation on the saison. At its core is a medium-bodied, bubbly beer with earthiness and dryness associated with the French saison yeast that’s at the heart of a farmhouse ale. Goronson employs artistic license with his use of rye and dark malts. Alferd is strong and warm at 8.5 percent ABV, which is why it gets “imperial” added to its description.
Appearance: Black body with a thick, bubbly tan head.
Texture: Medium-bodied, bubbly with roundness.
Taste: An earthy-yeast beginning. There are herbal and fruity notes in background.
Finish/Aftertaste: A mild musty-yeastiness. Also spicy and light dryness.
Glassware: The Parched Eagle serves Alferd in a goblet-style glass which helps to focus the light yeastiness and accents of rye.
Pairs well with: Roasted chicken and fish. It’s also quite nice with a creamy goat cheese with a musty rind.

Samuel Adams has released a beer illegal in 15 states. The Utopias beer is 28 percent alcohol by volume (ABV) which is much higher than the average 5 percent
Its high alcohol content means that it's banned in Alabama
The Utopias beer will not be shipped to or sold in these states
These 15 states have much stricter laws for ABV limits. For example, according to Consumer Reports
the ABV limit for a bottle of beer in Utah is just 4 percent
which has just recently increased from 3.2 percent
But for the 35 states that can enjoy Samuel Adams' latest beer
it tastes like "a deep rich malty smoothness reminiscent of a vintage port
or fine sherry," according to Samuel Adams
It's made with the malt varieties of Samuel Adams two-row pale malt blend
It's a pale amber color and includes Vermont maple syrup
This beer was produced in three Samuel Adams breweries in Boston
aged and finished using a blend of earlier Samuel Adams batches of extreme beers
including some that have been aged up to 24 years
According to Forbes
Samuel Adams' described the brewing process on its website
stating: "The brewers utilized several yeast strains during fermentation
including one typically reserved for champagne
and a 'ninja yeast,' created for its ability to survive and continue fermenting in an environment that has such a high alcohol level."
This is the 11th edition of Samuel Adams' Utopias and only 77 casks were brewed this year
Utopias will have a limited release and will come in a 25.4oz custom bottle that has been modeled after copper brew kettles
It will be sold in specialty beer and liquor stores at $210 per bottle
said in a statement: "Since it was first brewed
Sam Adams Utopias has been nothing short of a labor of love
but there's something special about putting such a unique
extreme beer in the hands of not only the craft beer community but our coworkers
"Involving new members of our team from Dogfish Head in the bottling process this year signified collaboration
progress and inspired future innovations that we can't wait to share."
Samuel Adams recommends pairing the beer with Clam Chowder
Mango-Chili Chicken Pineapple Upside Down Cake
According to Detroit Free Press
Samuel Adams' Cincinnati Taproom is celebrating its first anniversary and Utopias will be on tap on November 15 from 6 p.m
but a $20 ticket will include a 1-ounce pour and a commemorative glass

Italian researchers have warned against using this to justify drinking more beer

Drinking hoppy beers might reduce the risk of getting dementia
The chemicals which give that unique bitter flavour to IPAs have prevented protein plaques linked to Alzheimer’s from clumping together in lab dishes
Excessive alcohol consumption can cause cognitive issues as it can shrink the brain’s white matter, which is what sends signals to different parts of the brain.
Every type of beer is made using hop flower extracts which has natural antioxidants in, which is why it’s believed to protect cells in the body.
But Tettnang, which is a hop grown in Germany and used in amber and light lager, which discovered to be the best at clearing protein clumps.
More than one million people in Briton have Alzheimer’s, which is the most common form of dementia.
Researchers at Milano-Bicocca University looked at ‘nutraceuticals’ (foods serving a medicinal or nutritional function) and focused on hop flowers after a previous study found they could impact the brain’s buildup of amyloid beta proteins.
The team looked at four common varieties of hops using a very similar method that’s used to make beer.
Researchers then exposed the hops to to human nerve cells and amyloid proteins.
Tettnang was the top performing hop, and it’s used in many lagers and lighter ales.
It’s also found in herbal teas and some soft drinks.
While the findings might not suggest people should be drinking more beer, it has found that hops could be added to foods that could reduce the risk of neurodegenerative diseases if consumed.
Alzheimer’s is a degenerative and progressive disease of the brain when build-up of abnormal proteins cause nerve cells to die.
Functions of the brain like memory, orintation and ability to think are lost as cells die.
The progress of the disease is also very gradual and slow. Patients usually live for five to seven years after being diagnosed but can live for ten to 15.

curvy approach to lighting and transformed Lichtkanal 060
moving away from a straight line towards a dynamic and organic shape
Lighting designer Martin Pannier is enthusiastic about the new and exciting possibilities and infinite lighting scenarios
“In addition to the diverse design options of Lichtkanal around corners
criss-cross or with transitions from ceiling to wall
it is now also possible to follow curved lines and arrange Lichtkanal freely in the room with soft changes of direction."
The smooth design of Lichtkanal Curved creates new architectural scope for modern interior design
It either blends harmoniously into organic interiors or offers a strong contrast
This makes Lichtkanal Curved ideal to illuminate spaces used for communication
The premium LED technology and homogeneous illumination throughout the whole system provides for a very warm and high sojourn quality
The possibility of direct/indirect lighting or purely direct lighting pays to a complete lighting solution and gives the lighting concept a special character
which contributes to a perfect lighting solution
product developer of LTS Lichtkanal Curved
“Like the intervertebral discs of the spine
the opto-electronic inner workings flexibly wind their way through the curved duct
This allows our clients to express their creativity and choose almost any individual shape
A successful endeavour – thanks to the curve collimators developed by LTS
They are capable of directing linear light in the shape of a curve absolutely homogeneously which has the enormous benefit that all the advantages of the standard Lichtkanal 060
homogeneity and controllability equally apply to the curved version
The H profile of Lichtkanal 060 is available in three different radii of 513mm
Individual radii are also possible on request
Lichtkanal Curved means no more limits to planning and design
With consistent light quality and the proven efficiency of Lichtkanal 060 more than 120 lm/W
Lichtkanal Curved is an exceptionally flexible system
LTS managed to direct linear light around corners: an architectural novelty made in Tettnang
Thanks to the flexible lengths of Lichtkanal 060 and the architectural design and combination options between the standard Lichtkanal 060 the curved light line
it is possible to create spaces with a variety of lighting elements
The lighting effect is as individual as striking
adding aesthetic value and enhancing the atmosphere in the room
Surprise, surprise, this common beer is actually very clean. According to the Heineken website
the blonde pilsner is brewed using a natural process with no additives
and the unique Heineken® A-yeast for fermentation in the brewing process," says the site
It is also free of genetically modified ingredients and is low in gluten since brewing beer with barley and no wheat leaves only "traces" of gluten in the beer
Sierra Nevada basically put hoppy beers back on the map, at least in America. Before their Pale Ale came out in 1980, everyone was drinking pale lagers with almost no hop presence. They changed that with the Pale Ale, which is still a great beer, but Torpedo Extra IPA is something next level
The "Hop Torpedo" that lends its name is a proprietary hop-filled device the brewery developed through which actively fermenting beer flows
thus creating a perfect dry hop (hops added after the boil) character
8 Popular Beers That Use the Lowest Quality Ingredients
This beer is technically a Belgian-style tripel because it is brewed in Downingtown, Pennsylvania, population of approximately 8,000. But really, Golden Monkey is
as it's made with imported malt and with genuine Belgian yeast
not to mention plenty of hops and a unique blend of spices (yes
Is this a wheat beer? Is it an ale? Yes to both, actually. The truly unique Little Sumpin' Sumpin' Ale uses a grain bill that's 50% wheat and 50% barley
so it's got a great bitterness and a lingering finish
but one that's again softened by that wheat
This beer, beloved among beer lovers, is one of the finest IPAs you can find. Or double IPAs, to be precise. Pliny the Elder
which is almost as famous for being hard-to-find (partly true
is made with four different kinds of hops which are added in differing amounts at precise intervals during the boil
REALTED: 7 Secrets Behind Why Bottled Beer Tastes So Different Than Draft
One sip of this stuff and your love affair with Guinness will be over – and with just about any other stout
An oatmeal stout rich in chocolate and toasty notes and with that smooth
The malt consists of four types of grain and it uses hops grown near where Shakespeare Stout is brewed in Oregon
When developed by brewer Sam Calagione in the late 1990s, 90 Minute IPA was the first continually hopped beer ever brewed
the constant addition of small amounts of hops during an hour-and-a-half-long brew period
the result being a marvelously complex hop character
as the hop cones are all broken down by differing amounts thus present different notes
We hesitate to even mention this beer due to its rarity, it having been produced but once, but having tried it firsthand, we also feel it's our duty to share. (Also, the brewery may make it an occasional release due to positive reception.) Fermentation Engastration is named for the cooking technique where animal ingredients are stuffed into one another
Stuffed into this wild beer are ingredients like Muscat grape juice
