Taste of Poland is bringing traditional Eastern European comfort food to Oklahoma with a local twist
The only fully Polish restaurant in the state
it’s the labor of love of owner Alicja Sokolowski
who blends her heritage with her new home through handcrafted recipes and warm hospitality
Sokolowski moved to New York before relocating to Tulsa with her family
Her culinary journey began at local farmers' markets
where she sold handmade pierogies that quickly grew in popularity
she was making over 1,700 pierogies a week out of her home kitchen
she crafts nearly every item on the menu from scratch
The restaurant’s signature dish is the pierogi
stuffed with a variety of fillings like cheese and onion or a more local creation
the “Okie pierogi,” made with brisket and beans
Other menu highlights include cabbage rolls stuffed with meat and rice
pickle soup made from house-brined cucumbers
and toasted baguettes known as zappies topped with caramelized mushrooms and homemade mayo
Even the salads incorporate house-made elements like honey-ginger pears and farmer’s cheese
guests can enjoy a range of lightly sweetened Polish treats like honey cake and cheesecake
Sokolowski says her greatest challenge now is staffing
she hopes to find new team members who share her passion for authentic cooking and community

Victim's Mum faces agonising decision in lengthy fight for justice which has yet to pay off
NEWSPAPER SECTION: News
Nearly 11 years after a horrific car crash changed her family's life forever
is now faced with a devastating decision -- whether to continue the legal and medical fight for her daughter
or allow her to live out her remaining days in peace
was involved in illegal street racing when she lost control of her modified pickup truck and ploughed into the "Lung Yai Steakhouse" at the entrance of Soi Ekkachai 119 in Bangkok's Bang Bon district
42 -- Ms Saranya's husband -- who died using his body to shield their five-year-old daughter
The impact nonetheless left Nong Cartoon with severe brain trauma
along with her vision and ability to communicate
Her condition required ongoing medical care
and she has remained bedridden for over a decade
The cost of her care has continued to accumulate
has failed to take responsibility or pay any compensation
to bear the burden alone for the past 11 years
the Thonburi Criminal Court sentenced Namphueng to two years and six months in prison but reduced the sentence to one year due to her confession and lack of prior criminal record
She was also fined 3,000 baht and ordered to pay 6.3 million baht in compensation to the family of Nong Cartoon
Nong Cartoon's family has yet to receive any contact from Namphueng
The only money Ms Saranya received was on one occasion at a police station when Namphueng paid 40,000 baht for damages to her shop
Namphueng posted on her Facebook saying: "I wasted time with this mother and daughter at the steak shop..
I'll stretch it out until the statute of limitations runs out
The 10-year statute of limitations expired on Sept 19 last year
some allege she transferred her assets to others prior to her sentencing
None of the financial compensation paid by the defendant has alleviated Ms Saranya's burdens
as Nong Cartoon's treatment costs reached 100,000 baht a month at one point
In an effort to support her daughter's ongoing treatment
Ms Saranya decided to reopen the steakhouse on Suksawat Road in Ratburana district
She also created a Facebook page where she regularly updates her 219,000 followers on her daughter's condition and the legal proceedings
The page was also used to seek donations when necessary
Ms Saranya recently offered an update on her daughter's condition in which she says Nong Cartoon has a severe lung infection
A doctor said her daughter would need a ventilator for the rest of her life
Ms Saranya considered giving up and allowing her daughter to pass away in peace
When she shared this painful thought on social media
it sparked widespread criticism -- not of her
but of a justice system that had failed to deliver for a mother and her severely injured daughter
highlighted the glaring injustice in the system and the stark contrast between the lives of Ms Saranya and Namphueng
who has posted pictures of herself and her husband enjoying a lavish lifestyle
interviewed later by the media said: "I thought about letting her go
thinking that Nong Cartoon has suffered enough
opened her eyes and searched for the sound
so I decided that if her condition improved enough for her to leave the hospital
I'll take her home and care for her myself
I am looking for a new legal way to fight the responsible party," she said
Justice Minister Pol Col Tawee Sodsong once said he was concerned about enforcement of the judgment
there is a 10-year statute of limitations for judgments
needing to pursue an asset investigation against the driver
Although the 10-year enforcement period has expired
her family could still ask the court to extend the asset investigation period for the driver who crashed into Nong Cartoon
This case is also a matter of human rights
so he needed to study legal provisions related to the "Justice Fund" to see what help could be provided
Another suggestion came from Kosolwat Inthuchanyong
director-general of the Office for Rights Protection
and Enforcement of Judgments under the Office of the Attorney General
He said that although the civil case has passed the statute of limitations
Ms Saranya can still convert the civil case into a criminal case by filing charges of fraudulent concealment of assets from creditors
"This can be pursued by investigating the transfer of assets by Namphueng
as such transfers must be supported by evidence," he said

Spoilers ahead for the ludicrous plot and ending of Another Simple Favor
Enjoyment of the burgeoning Simple Favor franchise is predicated on two things: your ability to suspend disbelief for every new plot twist and your appreciation for Blake Lively in a suit. Paul Feig’s A Simple Favor
released in 2018 and adapted from the novel of the same name
relied heavily on Lively’s bold sartorial choices and the chemistry (at times overtly sapphic) between her and co-star Anna Kendrick
The beach-read thriller plot — in which Lively’s Emily fakes her own death by murdering her secret twin sister
forcing Kendrick’s mommy vlogger Stephanie to investigate — plays like a lighter (but also gayer!) Gone Girl
If the turns it takes can be hard to swallow
the game cast and Jessica Sharzer’s darkly funny script help the whole thing go down easy
The long-awaited sequel Another Simple Favor retains much of the cast and crew — Laeta Kalogridis joins Sharzer on the screenplay
and Elizabeth Perkins replaces Jean Smart as Emily’s mother
Margaret — and transplants the story to the beautiful Italian island of Capri
Emily ended up in prison at the end of the first movie
but she’s been sprung from jail while her fancy new lawyers appeal her case
and she’s getting married to the rich and handsome Dante Versano (Michele Morrone)
she wants her best frenemy Stephanie as her maid of honor at the destination wedding
The basic setup is predictably nonsensical — the last time those two saw each other
Emily was trying to kill Stephanie — but the film manages to brush past any objections with surprising ease
Mother-in-law Portia (Elena Sofia Ricci) spitefully surprises Emily by inviting her estranged religious-nut mother
who brings along the more coherent Aunt Linda (Allison Janney)
And though Emily’s (and Stephanie’s) ex Sean (Henry Golding) is just there by court order to accompany their son
he’s perpetually drunk and spewing vitriol
That’s to say nothing of all the people dropping dead — first Sean
That Dante’s killing is immediately pinned on Stephanie isn’t really a twist (the in medias res scene that opens the film establishes as much)
but it is where Another Simple Favor starts to go off the rails
A Simple Favor is a deft balancing act between believability and enjoyability
where the silliest twist is acceptable as long as the audience is having a good time
Another Simple Favor stumbles while trying to walk that line
The plot beats that follow Dante’s death strain credulity past its breaking point
Let’s review exactly how it all goes wrong and where each plot twist falls on the believability-enjoyability scale
The first film establishes that Emily (formerly Hope) and sister Faith had a third identical sibling
Feig couldn’t resist the opportunity to have Lively play another character
so Another Simple Favor has Charity turn up alive to take Emily’s place
though Aunt Linda is really pulling the strings
Stephanie catches on to the ruse fairly quickly
assuming that Charity has also killed Emily
but it’s a little hard to get anyone to take you seriously when you’ve been accused of murder and are rambling about a secret triplet
Charity’s ability to pull this off seems highly unlikely — does she also speak fluent Italian
the existence of the third sister was established in the first film
done that” aspect of yet another Blake Lively
Charity’s arrival is an entertaining development
Stephanie once again tries to pry information out of Margaret
whose semi-lucid ramblings give way to a flashback that shows what really happened
and who told Margaret that Charity was stillborn
Linda then spirited Charity away and raised her as her own
With some added intel from Detective Summerville (Bashir Salahuddin)
we learn that Linda has been a very active con artist with a penchant for black-widow behavior — that is
marrying and then offing wealthy men — and that she’s forced Charity into a life as her accomplice
because no one ever suspects kids of being criminal masterminds
so the idea that there was a third sibling who spent decades under the radar feels unlikely
Charity’s fractured mind (more on that below) makes it hard to imagine her being all that good at scamming
While Allison Janney improves every movie she’s in
Linda is nowhere near as compelling a character as the rest of her family
and her backstory is relegated to an exposition dump
No big surprise here: Emily wasn’t dispatched off-screen
as we learn when she rescues Stephanie in the nick of time
Portia kidnaps her and shoots her full of truth serum that mostly makes her very high
Stephanie doesn’t confess to a crime she had nothing to do with
so Portia orders her killing before she departs
The mobsters are seconds away from killing Stephanie when Emily arrives and knocks them out
She and a still very high Emily are able to escape mostly unscathed
When Stephanie asks how Emily was able to get the jump on made men
bitch,” which is basically good enough for me
As delightful as it is to watch Emily kick mafiosi ass
Stephanie’s role in this story becomes more and more confounding the longer Another Simple Favor goes on
These movies work best when she and Emily are on a level playing field
Linda’s original plan wasn’t for Dante to die — she’d been blackmailing him and Emily over the truth of their relationship
Dante and Emily were never romantically involved
brought in to help cover up his love affair with Matteo Bartolo (Lorenzo de Moor)
the son of a family engaged in a longstanding feud with the Versanos
Everyone in the Simple Favor universe is at least a little gay
so this twist makes as much sense as anything (even if the logistics are a bit squishy)
because it’s both a genuine surprise and something viewers highly attuned to queer subtext might have picked up on
she reveals what happened when Charity took her place
Charity couldn’t bring herself to kill her sister
Years of being locked away by Linda has given Charity a distinctly haunted-doll vibe — she’s creepy and childlike
the clearer it is that she’s completely unhinged
Charity takes it upon herself to give her sister pleasure in a horrifying act of incestuous rape
who has been labeled a “brother fucker” by Emily for
calls Emily a “sister fucker,” which feels pretty glib under the circumstances
Nothing about Charity’s mental state and ghostly vibe feels remotely grounded in reality
Not to mention the fact that her ability to fool everyone but Stephanie into thinking she’s Emily would be contingent on her not being as out of her mind as the script suddenly requires her to be
Although A Simple Favor pushed the envelope with Stephanie’s past indiscretion
the movie was able to turn it into a dark joke
Trying to do the same with a deeply disturbing act of sexual assault just doesn’t work
Charity and Linda hold a drugged Nicky at gunpoint on a cliffside
forcing a confrontation with Emily and Stephanie
But while Charity is totally down with killing Stephanie
she still doesn’t want to lose the sister she’s finally reconnected with
Linda is prepared to take matters into her own hands when Nicky orchestrates a drone attack to incapacitate her
after which Charity pushes Linda off the cliff to her death
so it’s less drone ex machina and more Chekhov’s drone
The fact that Nicky is suddenly conscious enough to fly it right to its target is certainly questionable
There’s a goofiness that permeates the entire scene
which feels like an easy out to an overly convoluted story
Charity’s love for her sister is enough for her to pose as Emily and confess to all of the Capri murders: Sean
(It was actually Linda who smothered Margaret with a pillow
but that’s neither here nor there.) Charity takes Emily’s place back in prison
asking Stephanie to raise him on her behalf
It’s established that Nicky is the one person Emily really loves (well
so the idea that after all that she’d willingly abandon him rings false
Getting Charity to take her place helps her skirt accountability for her actions in the last movie
but now there are several more murders pinned on Emily
which doesn’t sound like a sensible plan in the long run
Another Simple Favor’s denouement is as rushed as its climax
including that it wasn’t Emily who killed Dante
however: Portia now knows her daughter-in-law has a very particular set of skills
since Emily is supposed to be safely locked up in prison
Emily has married into the Versano crime family
and that comes with certain responsibilities
starting with — you guessed it — “a simple favor.”
What exactly does Portia know and how does she know it
Even being a well-connected Mafia matriarch doesn’t grant you complete omniscience
Though Emily working for the mob is an intriguing notion
it’s really only dropped as a tease for a sequel that might never happen
We’ll have to see if Yet Another Simple Favor ever materializes — likely dependent on Feig and Sharzer figuring out how to introduce Emily’s secret quadruplet — to see if this twist pays off

FutureFit33 was introduced in this year’s line of Cobra DS-APAPT products
and allows you to adjust the adjust loft and lie of your DS-ADAPT metals by plus or minus 2 degrees in every direction — enabling 33 total setting options
But what does using the technology look like in real life
there’s a setting on here that can neutralize it and get it as close to straight as possible
left to right or right to left,” Stoltz said
Stoltz stared his optimization process with the A1 setting
“A1 is like the baseline degrees of loft,” he said
“It’s on a standard setting — that’s exactly where it is right now — and then we’ll be able to move it up a degree in loft
and hopefully find the ball flight that works for us.”
Stoltz’s first swing with the A1 setting resulted in a ball flight that was high and left — not his preferred shot shape
you’ll want to hit a handful of shots to determine which ball flight is the most consistent
“I’m more of a guy that likes to see the ball go left to right,” Stoltz said
“I also like it down maybe a window or two.”
Once you know your ball flight from the A1 setting
and you have an idea of the ball flight you want to achieve
all you need to do is use the FutureFit33 QR code
which reveals a chart that shows you which letter configuration you need to use in the setting to achieve the ball flight you want
“It gives you a big diagram,” Stoltz said
I want the ball to go low and to the right
so I’ll grab the letters that are down on the lower and the right side of the chart
Stoltz’s next shot performed just as he desired
that ball flight came down,” Stoltz said
“I got a little more of that left to right that I’m looking for as opposed to that high and left before
Stoltz loved the fact that he could make these changes to his ball flight without tweaking his swing
“It’s just a couple of clicks of the wrench,” he said

It can be tempting to assume that your intuitions about three-dimensional space carry over to higher-dimensional realms
adding another dimension simply creates a new direction to move around in
It doesn’t change the defining features of space: its endlessness and its uniformity
But different dimensions have decidedly different personalities. In dimensions 8 and 24, it’s possible to pack balls together especially tightly
there are “exotic” spheres that look irremediably crumpled
And dimension 3 is the only one that can contain knots — in any higher dimension
you can untangle a knot even while holding its ends fast
mathematicians have put the finishing touches on a story of dimensional weirdness that has been 65 years in the making
researchers have wanted to know which dimensions can host particularly strange shapes — ones so twisted that they cannot be converted into a sphere through a simple procedure called surgery
is intimately intertwined with fundamental questions in topology about the relationships between spheres of different dimensions
mathematicians found that the twisted shapes exist in dimensions 2
They also showed that such shapes could not possibly exist in any other dimension — save one
No one could determine the status of dimension 126
Three mathematicians have now settled this final problem. In a paper posted online last December, Weinan Lin and Guozhen Wang of Fudan University in Shanghai, along with Zhouli Xu of the University of California
proved that 126 is indeed one of the rare dimensions that can host these strangely twisted shapes
It’s “a very long program, finally finished,” said Ulrike Tillmann of the University of Oxford
The proof, which uses a combination of computer calculations and theoretical insights, is “like a monumental engineering project,” said Michael Hopkins of Harvard University
In the 1950s, the mathematician John Milnor astonished the mathematical world by showing that dimension 7 is home to “exotic” spheres
An exotic sphere looks exactly like an ordinary sphere from the perspective of topology
which only considers the features of a shape that don’t change when it is stretched or deformed
But the two spheres have incompatible definitions of smoothness — a curve that’s smooth on an ordinary sphere might not be considered smooth on an exotic sphere
Milnor was eager to explore and classify these exotic spheres
which in some dimensions turned out to be rare and in others numbered in the thousands
To do this, he introduced a technique called surgery
a controlled way to simplify a mathematical shape
and potentially convert it into an exotic sphere
The method would become essential to the study of manifolds more generally
surgery involves slicing out a piece of a manifold and then sewing in one or more new pieces along the boundary of the cut
(When it comes to questions about twisted shapes
mathematicians also require the surgery to respect the manifold’s “framing,” a technical attribute of how the manifold sits in space.)
let’s surgically transform a torus (the two-dimensional surface of a doughnut) into a sphere (the two-dimensional surface of a ball):
The result is an ordinary sphere — in fact
surgery converts some manifolds into ordinary spheres and others into exotic spheres
there’s yet another possibility: manifolds that can’t be converted into a sphere at all
only this time we’ll give it some special twists to obstruct surgeries:
Mathematicians have proved that there is no surgery that can transform this twisted torus into a sphere
It’s an entirely different class of manifold
In 1960, the French mathematician Michel Kervaire came up with an invariant — a number you can calculate for a given smooth manifold — that equals zero when the manifold can be surgically converted into a sphere
So the ordinary torus has a Kervaire invariant of zero
while the twisted torus has a Kervaire invariant of 1
Kervaire used his invariant to explore the menagerie of possible manifolds in different dimensions
He even used it to come up with a 10-dimensional manifold that has no Kervaire invariant
either zero or 1 — meaning that this manifold must be so crooked that it can have no sensible notion of smoothness at all
No one had imagined that such a manifold could exist
mathematicians rushed to determine the Kervaire invariants of manifolds in different dimensions
Within a few years, they’d proved that twisted manifolds of Kervaire invariant 1 exist in dimensions 2, 6, 14 and 30. These dimensions fit a pattern: Each number is 2 less than a power of 2 (for example, 30 is 25 − 2). In 1969, the mathematician William Browder proved that dimensions of this form are the only ones that might host shapes with a Kervaire invariant of 1
It was natural to assume that twisted manifolds would exist in all dimensions of this form: 62
one mathematician even built an entire edifice of conjectures about exotic spheres and other shapes
But the possibility that the original assumption might be false still loomed
It came to be known as the doomsday hypothesis
since it would falsify all these other conjectures
Zhouli Xu was warned against trying to resolve the Kervaire conjecture while in graduate school
But the problem remained “a constant source of fascination,” he said
Archives of the Mathematisches Forschungsinstitut Oberwolfach
And indeed, while mathematicians showed in 1984 that twisted manifolds exist in dimension 62
no one could prove that such manifolds exist in any of the remaining dimensions
mathematicians eventually ran out of steam
In 2009, “to stem the tide of oblivion,” the mathematician Victor Snaith wrote a book exploring the implications of having manifolds with Kervaire invariant 1 in all the dimensions on Browder’s list
“this might turn out to be a book about things which do not exist.”
If Snaith had published his book a year later, it might have read very differently. For within weeks of the book’s publication, Hopkins and two other researchers confounded mathematicians by announcing that Snaith’s warning to readers had been all too apt: The doomsday hypothesis was true. Manifolds of Kervaire invariant 1, they had proved
The result left mathematicians in a curious position. Out of the entire infinitude of possible shapes in possible dimensions, the shapes in precisely one dimension still resisted classification. In the words of Douglas Ravenel
a mathematician at the University of Rochester and one of the co-authors of the doomsday-hypothesis proof
there was “a big loose end.” It took the form of dimension 126
In 2011, Zhouli Xu arrived at the University of Chicago as a new graduate student planning to study computational aspects of manifolds. His adviser, Peter May
which mathematicians thought was likely to involve massive computations
May sent Xu to Mark Mahowald of Northwestern University
an expert on the Kervaire invariant problem who had even named his sailboat after one of its key symbols — θj
But Mahowald, who died in 2013, immediately vetoed the proposal. The dimension 126 problem was too hard, he told Xu — “a lifelong problem.” Instead, he guided the young mathematician toward related problems in lower dimensions
the dimension 126 problem remained “a constant source of fascination,” he said
Guozhen Wang studies complicated objects to gain insights into high-dimensional shapes that defy imagination
The potential strategy to settle the problem was no mystery. Mathematicians had long known that crucial secrets about exotic spheres and other manifolds are encoded in objects known as stable homotopy groups of spheres
or “mappings,” that send points from a high-dimensional sphere to a lower-dimensional one
a mapping that sends every point in a 44-dimensional sphere to a point in a 33-dimensional sphere
This mapping essentially crushes down 11 dimensions’ worth of the bigger sphere
If you choose some point on the smaller sphere and find all the points on the bigger sphere that got mapped to it
these points will typically form an 11-dimensional manifold
Now consider all the different points on your smaller sphere
each point gives you another 11-dimensional manifold
So your mapping doesn’t just create a single 11-dimensional manifold
It creates a bucket of 11-dimensional manifolds
A stable homotopy group is a set in which each element is a collection of mappings like this one
Mathematicians knew that to settle the Kervaire invariant question in a given dimension, they only needed to understand the stable homotopy group for that dimension
There’s just one difficulty: Understanding stable homotopy groups is one of the most challenging and foundational problems in topology
“I do not expect it to be solved within the lifetime of my granddaughters,” Ravenel said
So instead, mathematicians approach this problem by degrees. Since 1958, they’ve been organizing information about the structure of stable homotopy groups into an enormous but unfinished atlas of dots called the Adams spectral sequence
Weinan Lin wrote a computer program that helped him and his colleagues resolve a decades-old conjecture about the strange properties of shapes in high dimensions
Imagine a book with an infinite number of pages
each of which consists of infinitely many columns of dots
Let’s open the book and examine a single page
Each column on this page represents a dimension
Each dot in a given column represents a different potential “flavor” for sphere mappings in that dimension
the book is exceedingly repetitive — each page has the same list of columns
you’ll notice a key difference: Each page captures successively finer details of sphere mappings and manifolds
The atlas’s early pages are only approximations of the truth
The approximations get better as you turn the pages
until on the final page of the atlas — known as the “infinity” page — the representation is perfect
Navigating the atlas is like exploring the universe of manifolds with increasingly powerful telescopes
and many manifolds that don’t really belong have been erroneously included
you may be able to detect that a manifold has some “flaw” that would exclude it from the atlas
you would delete the relevant dot on all subsequent pages of the atlas
where you might hope to turn an even stronger telescope on it
In 1969, Browder showed that one specific dot in the 126th column of the atlas holds the key to the Kervaire invariant problem in that dimension
then buckets of 126-dimensional manifolds must come in both flavors: Half of the buckets will consist of manifolds with Kervaire invariant zero
and half will consist of manifolds with Kervaire invariant 1
then 126-dimensional manifolds come in just one flavor
there were 105 different hypothetical ways that it might vanish before the infinity page
his longtime collaborator and former college roommate
As they developed new computational techniques
a mathematician Xu had known since graduate school
Lin wrote a program that was able to rule out 101 of the possibilities
the researchers painstakingly developed new methods to rule out the last four
does survive to the infinity page — meaning that dimension 126 has manifolds with Kervaire invariant 1
mathematicians thought such a computation was way out of reach
The new work is “heroically computational,” he added
Its methods may eventually help mathematicians chart even more of the giant atlas
While the new paper proves that strangely twisted shapes exist in dimension 126
Researchers have identified specific twisted shapes in the first four special Kervaire dimensions: 2
But no one has found one yet in dimension 62 or 126
even though in each dimension where these shapes exist
they make up fully half of all possible shapes
“we can’t actually point to one,” Tillmann said
If mathematicians do figure out how to construct twisted shapes in dimensions 62 and 126
it might give them some clue about what makes these six dimensions special — why it’s possible to build such twisty shapes in those and only those dimensions
“Usually when [something like] that happens
there’s some very beautiful construction,” Hopkins said
because it’s got to only work five or six times
and not infinitely many times.” The new work “makes it more inspiring to really try to find the special construction of these six things.”
No one knows yet what kind of strange manifolds correspond to the special dots in these dimensions — but mathematicians hope to find out
Discoveries about subsequent rows will likely also be forthcoming

Detroit-based blues singer RJ Silver is gaining attention with a sound that’s rich in soul and storytelling. He blends classic blues influences with a fresh, personal perspective.
Silver stopped by “Live in the D,” to share a special performance, and talk about his musical journey. “I grew up listening to the music of the time, kind of like Alternative Rock, then I would go back a decade or two and figure out who they listened to,” Silver said.
He said he would then research even more - and that brought him to The Delta Blues, and the Grand Fathers of the Blues. He said when it comes to his music, he gets inspiration everywhere. He performed his song “Blues From a Lifetime Ago,” on “Live In The D.”

Ronnie Fieg and adidas Continue Their Momentum With a Futuristic “Off White” Climacool Drop
Ronnie Fieg and Kith are keeping their collaborative engine running
this time linking back up with adidas to breathe new life into one of the Three Stripes’ most forward-thinking silhouettes
Following their recent football-inspired apparel release
the creative partners are preparing to drop a reimagined version of the Climacool
and neutral-toned luxury in a way that feels equal parts tech and street
Dubbed the Kith x adidas Climacool “Off White”, the shoe was recently teased by Kith Toronto director Jonathan Crandell
offering sneaker fans a first look at what’s poised to become one of the most progressive drops of the season
the design signals a move toward the future while staying rooted in the signature polish of both brands
The adidas Climacool has long been recognized for its emphasis on breathability and performance. Introduced in the early 2000s, the original model gained a following for its ventilation-focused construction, aimed at keeping feet cool during high-intensity movement. Now, in this latest collaboration, Kith and adidas take that DNA and remix it through a thoroughly modern lens—introducing 3D printing into the equation
The result is a shoe that appears more sculpted than stitched
Its wavy lattice framework wraps around the foot like a natural extension of the body
delivering ventilation and structure without the need for excessive layering or panels
The 3D-printed exterior gives the Climacool an almost architectural edge
resembling an art installation just as much as a sneaker
This version leans hard into minimalism with its monochromatic Off White colorway
allowing the shape and form of the shoe to take center stage
there’s subtle branding built into the silhouette—most notably
the Three Stripes appear in muted shades of gray
offering a tonal contrast that plays beautifully within the neutral palette
The appeal of the Kith x adidas Climacool goes beyond its futuristic silhouette
It’s also a reflection of how design and technology are merging in contemporary sneaker culture
The shoe’s 3D-printed structure doesn’t just offer aesthetic appeal—it’s a functional innovation
The open lattice encourages airflow in ways traditional mesh can’t
making it one of the most breathable and lightweight sneakers adidas has ever released under the Climacool banner
Kith’s involvement ensures the sneaker doesn’t stray too far into conceptual territory
and elevated essentials—gives the model a grounded identity
the styling remains versatile enough for everyday wear
Whether paired with Kith’s tailored sweats
the Climacool slots seamlessly into a curated rotation
This upcoming release adds to the growing legacy of the Kith x adidas partnership
which has delivered everything from lifestyle trainers and retro revivals to sport-specific collections
What makes this collaboration particularly interesting is its blend of technical design and minimalist refinement
It doesn’t rely on loud colors or flashy detailing to get attention—it earns it through silhouette
While official release details are still under wraps
the teaser alone has created considerable buzz online
especially among those who have been following the resurgence of 3D-printed sneakers
With performance innovation and lifestyle versatility built into its DNA
this Climacool drop feels positioned to move units fast once it hits the digital shelves
While no confirmed launch date has been announced at the time of writing, the Kith x adidas Climacool “Off White” is expected to release later this year. Based on past collaborative drops, fans can anticipate it arriving through Kith’s official site, the adidas Confirmed app
Given its design pedigree and technical uniqueness
the sneaker will likely land with a price tag slightly above the model’s base MSRP of $140 USD—a fair ask for a shoe that fuses next-gen technology with high-end design language
Those eager to stay ahead of the drop should follow Kith and adidas on social media and subscribe to release alerts
With demand building and quantities expected to be limited
early access could make all the difference
In an industry where collaborations are often saturated with logo-heavy designs and nostalgia plays
the Kith x adidas Climacool “Off White” stands out for its focus on forward-thinking form and function
It’s not just a remix—it’s a redefinition of what collaborative footwear can look like in a digitally driven world
By fusing 3D-printing innovation with the cultural capital of Kith and the performance pedigree of adidas
this drop offers more than just hype—it delivers vision

A photo revealing how an Airbnb host had taped and superglued the hand soap dispenser in his property shut ended up going viral on Reddit
Putting a property on Airbnb can be a great way to make money
figures published by the company revealed that
the typical host earned around $14,000 annually by inviting visitors into their homes
while putting that might seem like a no-brainer in theory
the practical demands of being an Airbnb host can be fraught with pitfalls
as an example recently shared to Reddit shows
In a post shared to the popular social-media platform
a user writing under the handle u/Ask_Bout_PaterNoster
presented a picture of the heavily taped-up dispenser
It was shared to Reddit alongside a caption that read: "My Airbnb host taped the hand soap shut and superglued the tape leader for security."
the post has been upvoted over 44,000 times
with many in shock at the apparent discovery
"Is it a particularly valuable soap brand?" one user commenting on the post asked
Always with a clean getaway," while a third posted: "this is why I choose hotels." Elsewhere
one user commented: "You know who doesn't play stupid games like this
The response came as a surprise to Lawrence Langdale
the person who originally shared the picture to Reddit
It wasn't for the reasons you may have expected
It turned out Langdale wasn't staying at an Airbnb; he was the host and the person who taped and glued up his soap dispensers for reasons he was happy to explain
Langdale told Newsweek he decided to become an Airbnb host
renting out part of his house because they "straight-up can't afford the mortgage otherwise."
Langdale said: "We spent about $2,000 getting the space ready: tons of new linens
and I literally maxed out my credit card buying the final supplies for the first guest
I had to scramble to the store with change from our change jar to get basic toiletries."
Langdale said it was about 30 minutes before their first guest was due to arrive when he realized the only soap dispenser they had was the one they were using themselves
fueled by any number of unsettling urban legends
"I'd heard stories about people tampering with products," he said
either doing gross stuff or even putting harmful things in bottles
Still worried that someone might be able to take the tape off
Langdale went one step further by supergluing it
it has generated little in the way of a reaction from anyone staying there
"None of the guests have actually said anything about it so far
but it has mostly been fueled by people sharing unsubstantiated myths and legends from the world of hotels and beyond
Many fall into the category of NSFW [not safe for work]
Langdale has been left stunned and quite amused by the reaction to his post
"I didn't expect that Reddit response when I posted it," he said
The soap dispenser is staying in place for now
then an upgrade is definitely on the cards
Then there was the host worried something didn't "feel right" about their place after the guests left

For many Hip Hop fans, the name Young Money immediately calls to mind its so-called golden era — the meteoric rise of Drake
Nicki Minaj and Tyga under the watchful eye of Lil Wayne
Chanel West Coast and a slew of affiliates
have also found success by aligning themselves with the house that Weezy F
The legendary label based in New Orleans continues to champion a diverse group of voices
and an episode of Young Money Radio brought the spotlight back to the label’s roster
Wayne welcomed virtual day-ones like Cory Gunz and Lil Twist and distinct voices like Lucifena and Domiio for an intimate
full-circle conversation on artistry and growth
The episode reaffirmed one thing: Young Money isn’t just a legacy brand
It’s a launching pad for talent determined to uphold and evolve its standard
Here’s a look at the voices defining Young Money’s always evolving sound — and how they’re keeping the fire burning
Lil Twist was first signed at just 12 years old after opening for Lil Wayne in Texas
Though his early buzz came during the label’s peak
Twist has maintained close ties with Wayne and continues to release music independently and through YM
His style blends youthful charisma with reflective storytelling
and while one commercial moment may have passed
his influence within the camp remains steady
It’s clear that Twist is still in it for the long run
Cory Gunz will forever be known as the lyrical firecracker on Wayne’s “6 Foot 7 Foot,” but his skills run far deeper than a single verse
dropping independent projects like Gunz x Bars (with David Bars) and maintaining a rep as one of Young Money’s most technical spitters
he spoke about growth and staying inspired
signaling a continued focus on artistry — a mindset that mirrors Wayne’s own ethos
Hailing from Hollygrove (the same neighborhood as Wayne), Jay Jones brings a gritty authenticity to the label. He’s the son of J-Dawg from Black Menace and carries that New Orleans heritage with pride
Jones made waves through collaborations with Wayne
along with solo projects like 2000 Hollygrove and Almost Forgot Who I Was
He and Allan Cubas teased a collaborative project
with Wayne himself expected to appear on the tape
Allan Cubas blends New Orleans street rap with a bilingual twist
As one of the standout voices signed to Young Money after its superstar phase
Cubas has performed with Wayne on tour and built a growing fanbase with introspective rhymes and sharp delivery
His chemistry with Jay Jones — particularly around Flight 504 — positions him as both a strong soloist and dynamic collaborator within the camp
Originally known as part of the duo Vice Versa
Domiio has rebranded and stepped confidently into the spotlight
With a sound that balances sharp flows and laid-back energy
the man formerly known as Drizzy P is carving out a new identity while continuing to rep the Young Money banner
His recent freestyles and teasers point toward a versatile catalog in development
and his presence during the Young Money Radio reunion solidified his place in the label’s future-forward mission
euro (born Eufradis Rodriguez) was raised in Rhode Island and first connected with Lil Wayne through an explosive guest verse that immediately set him apart
he’s dropped solo efforts like Don’t Expect Nothing
and “Patience,” showcasing a lyrical dexterity and confidence that stand tall among his peers
He’s one of the more seasoned MCs in the lineup and remains a dependable pen for posse cuts and deep solo cuts alike
Lucifena adds something wildly different to the Young Money roster: A mash-up of rock, rap and gothic flair that challenges genre conventions. Hailing from Los Angeles, she’s collaborated with Lil Wayne on music videos and appeared on Young Money Radio as a voice helping expand the label’s sonic palette. As the woman in the collective, she brings a bold, dynamic energy that stands out — not just within Young Money, but across Hip Hop’s broader landscape.
The original Daemon X Machina is essentially a spiritual successor to Armored Core (released before FromSoftware revived the series with 2023’s Fires of Rubicon)
featuring giant mechs blasting away at each other with missiles and lasers
which has put some fans of the original game on edge
the switch to nimbler suits also comes with a vicious addition to melee combat that will have players ripping enemies about with their bare robotic hands
Daemon X Machina: Titanic Scion adds a Monster Hunter-inspired twist to mech combat
developer Marvelous runs down the details of how Titanic Scion’s combat will work
there’s a focus on melee and short-range combat
like the original game’s mechs) using a sword along with a rifle in close range
Other interesting weapons like bows and railguns are also shown off
and it seems like Titanic Scion will put more emphasis on rapidly switching between weapons depending on which has an advantage against the foe you’re currently facing
Where the trailer really starts to diverge from the original Daemon X Machina is in Titanic Scion’s new knockdown and grab attacks
letting the player grab it for a high-damage attack
pick it up and throw it at other targets to take them both out
Like the original, and other mech games like Armored Core 6, Titanic Scion also has you sometimes facing off against opponents much larger than your own Arsenal. Here, the new grab abilities of your exosuit take on a different, altogether more interesting form seemingly inspired by Monster Hunter and Dragon’s Dogma
grab attacks will let you rip off parts of their mechs
which exposes weak points you can target for more damage
building on a system from the original game that let you damage parts with weapon fire in boss fights
you can then pick up some of the parts that get torn off and use them as weapons
The trailer shows a player tearing a horn from one massive creature
then picking it up and wielding it like a club
Fights against gigantic monsters might require getting your hands dirty
Daemon X Machina is already a great mech game that calls back to some of the classics of the genre, but Titanic Scions carving out its own identity definitely seems like the right move. With Armored Core itself now back and a wave of games like Mecha Break bringing giant battle bots back
Titanic Scions’ more brutal combat definitely helps it stand out from the crowd
Titanic Scion will be available on the original Switch
it also looks like it’s taking full advantage of the updated hardware in the Switch 2
While the original’s fast-paced combat was impressive
it was clearly held back a bit by the console’s relatively humble specs
as evidenced by the significantly better looking PC version
The sequel looks like a huge step up in that department
both in its more detailed environments and the silky smooth combat shown in its trailer
The first Daemon X Machina is a fun but niche entry in the Switch’s library
but Titanic Scion could make a bigger splash when it launches later this year
Twist Bioscience (NASDAQ: TWST) has made significant strides by launching Atlas Data Storage
a new standalone venture focusing on DNA storage technology
This move is bolstered by a substantial $155 million investment
with Twist Bioscience retaining a 24% ownership stake
The company reported impressive financial results for the second quarter
with revenue climbing to $92.8 million—a robust 23% increase year-over-year
attributed to heightened production volumes and operational efficiencies
The consensus recommendation from 13 brokerage firms rates Twist Bioscience Corp (TWST, Financial) at an average of 2.0
which aligns with an "Outperform" status
This rating suggests analysts are optimistic about the stock's potential
representing a "Strong Buy," to 5
I’ve got a weekend ahead—we can cut this short
he whiffs so spectacularly that it’ll make your head spin
For me, A Simple Favor was like a grand slam home run
That film cut out its own little slice of neo-noir that was equal parts sincere Diabolique sexual thriller versus characters shouting
“Are you trying to Diabolique me?” It was a clever puzzle box
acted in a way that pushed both stars beyond their limits
of all things) one of those Feig films that I only enjoy more on each re-watch
I would believe you if you told me that neither Feig nor anyone else showed up on set to direct this
this comes from someone who loved the first film so much that he spent the last few years actively hunting news and updates on the sequel
But this isn’t a ‘disappointment’ that stems from setting too high expectations—I assure you that I knew what a Blake Lively/Anna Kendrick thriller sequel would play like in 2025
as most of the characters in this tale of wacky woe spend their precious few moments on screen recapping the last film
narrating the actions that they are currently performing as if reading the script’s action lines aloud
or hoping that yelling “Suck my dick!” at increasing volumes will be enough to entertain you
because you will not watch this in a theater
You are going to watch it on streaming (where it is available today) and not watch it
so much as let it play in the background while you look at your phone
And in that way, Another Simple Favor is perfect
There is no visual element worth looking up from a pick-three game to gaze upon
There is no performance that will make the lifeless
artificial intelligence-adjacent dialogue more engaging
there is nothing to really shake a fist toward

but a potential alternative is even bigger
All signs had pointed to the Green Bay Packers traveling across the pond to take on the Pittsburgh Steelers in Ireland
According to Andrew Fillipponi of 93.7 The Fan in Pittsburgh
will head to Dublin for a matchup with the Steelers
The Packers will play the Steelers in Pittsburgh
and avoiding the NFL International Series provides the additional flexibility of scheduling this game for the optimal time
and you won't find a bigger matchup to open the season
The league will announce the regular-season schedule on May 14
We won't know the Packers' Week 1 opponent until then
but kicking off the year against the potentially Rodgers-led Steelers is too good an opportunity to pass up
It's important not to get over our skis here because Aaron Rodgers is still unsigned
but connecting with Mike Tomlin in Pittsburgh remains a real possibility
"He does want to come here, so I do think we may get word soon," Steelers owner Art Rooney II said during the NFL Draft, according to ESPN's Brooke Pryor
the NFL needs to book in his Packers revenge game as early as possible
who won his lone Super Bowl MVP by beating the Steelers
and the team with which he achieved legend status
Rodgers has battled injuries in recent years
He missed all but four snaps of the 2023 season after tearing his Achilles
and while he didn't miss any time last year
Rodgers played through knee and ankle issues
and he had to leave two others early due to groin and elbow issues
The best way to ensure we get both quarterbacks fully healthy and ready to go
Rodgers beginning a new chapter by attempting to take down the one team he has never beaten (or played)
Love gets the chance to defeat his mentor and prove why he is ready to lead the Packers on a Super Bowl run
It has all the blockbuster storylines without having to give away a crucial divisional game
The NFL might not send this legendary rivalry across the pond
but they should ensure we get Love's Packers against (presumably) Rodgers' Steelers under the lights in Week 1

This article contains spoilers for Thunderbolts*
Thunderbolts* is a Marvel movie in which almost nothing happens
a thorn in the side of copy editors everywhere
sets the stage for a momentous closing-credits reveal
as if the sense of significance can’t be allowed to continue for more than a minute or two
The group of second-string heroes we’ve been following through the movie—former Black Widow agent Yelena Belova (Florence Pugh)
Bucky Barnes aka the Winter Soldier (Sebastian Stan)
Alexei Shostakov aka the Red Guardian (David Harbour)
and Ava Starr aka Ghost (Hannah John-Kamen)
along with a new arrival to the Marvel Cinematic Universe known mostly as Bob (Lewis Pullman)—has gelled into a moderately disciplined fighting force
their powers aren’t especially super—Yelena complains
“Do we all just punch and shoot?”—but there’s a void to be filled
especially when Julia Louis-Dreyfus’ slippery billionaire Valentina Allegra de Fontaine
in a last-ditch effort to salvage her career
she announces that she’s reformed the Avengers
and the former mercenaries and contract killers who’ve spent most of the movie trying to put her behind bars are
There are no Asgardian demigods in this bunch
no scientific geniuses or nationally beloved icons
It’s not even clear they’re allowed to call themselves that—in a postcredits scene
is trying to legally prevent them from using the Avengers name
like a member of a classic-rock band fighting over who gets to tour as the Guess Who
There’s only one movie scheduled before next summer’s Avengers: Doomsday
looks to be set principally in a parallel universe
so it’s likely that the debate over who the real Avengers are will still be raging the next time whoever they are gets called to assemble
a name borrowed from the youth soccer team on which Yelena and her late sister
Natasha Romanoff (the original Black Widow)
And yet, that’s what makes Thunderbolts*, if not exactly great, at least the most entertaining Marvel movie in years (although, to be frank, that’s not the highest bar to clear). Director Jake Schreier and co-writer Joanna Calo previously worked together on the Netflix series Beef
which makes them especially qualified for a movie that’s at least 50 percent bickering
who has previously employed all of them in various extralegal capacities
sends each of them on a mission to kill one of the others
as a way of covering up her past before a congressional investigation unearths the truth
And although they quickly realize they’ve been set up and are better off joining forces against their common enemy
they never stop squabbling among themselves
the Thunderbolts’ constant bickering has a strained
as if the director simply yelled “and … Banter!” and let the cameras roll
I’m not one of the people who thinks Joss Whedon’s self-conscious quirk ruined genre screenwriting for a generation
but after the third or fourth time Yelena made a snarky comment about U.S
I started to think that those people might have a point
the movie features not only some of the best actors in the MCU
Pugh’s dry deadpan is deepened by her character’s borscht-thick Russian accent
and Louis-Dreyfus makes a splendid schemer
a spineless weasel with just enough power to be truly dangerous
It’s a movie that doesn’t mind devoting several minutes to a sequence in which the characters find themselves trapped at the bottom of a long underground shaft and have to press their bodies together
All this team building pays off at the movie’s climax
when the fledgling supergroup finds itself saving Manhattan
(Surely other cities need saving sometimes?) Thanks to Valentina’s off-the-books experiments
Bob has been transformed into a Superman-level hero named Sentry
but she doesn’t know or doesn’t care that he’s mentally unstable
subject to bouts of severe depression that are amplified by his newly acquired powers
When he realizes that he’s become something close to a god
turning him into a charcoal-black effigy with golden pinpoints for eyes and a casual disregard for lower life forms—which
He barely even notices as he trashes the former Avengers Tower
and sends debris plummeting toward the sidewalk outside Grand Central Station
but it also permanently and irrevocably divorced it from anything resembling the world the movies’ audiences inhabit
It’s telling that the only original Avenger with a robust civilian life is Hawkeye
aren’t too far removed from being your typical schmoes
Rescuing random strangers isn’t something they do on the way to their big boss battle—it’s the essence of who they are
not just a bunch of misfits thrown together by fate
a massive slab of concrete goes hurtling toward earth
and although Alexei is able to stop it from crushing a paralyzed little girl
it’s so big that it threatens to crush him instead
and eventually there’s just enough muscle between them to thrust the slab up and away
That sequence is followed by a proper climax where the Thunderbolts manage to subdue the movie’s villain
But it’s not as moving as their wrestling with a massive chunk of rock
notwithstanding the movie’s attempts at comic-book psychodrama
the most potent illustration of its underlying theme: that no one
no matter how alienated or off-center they may feel
Marvel’s heroes have saved the world and/or universe more times than you can count
but mostly they seem to be saving only themselves
Thunderbolts* treats ordinary people as if they’re the ones who matter
and superheroes are just there to keep them safe

Marvel Unlimited
where world-shaking battles tested his limitless power
and molecule-manipulating powers that made him one of the strongest beings in the universe
The Sentry began operating as a hero shortly before the emergence of the Fantastic Four. In between his adventures with Mister Fantastic, the Hulk, and the X-Men
recruited Billy Turner as his sidekick Scout
As Carnage attacked the heroes on the Raft, Nelson convinced Reynolds to save his friends. The Sentry pummeled the symbiote villain and flew him into Earth's upper atmosphere, where he tore him in half, in NEW AVENGERS (2004) #2 by Bendis and Finch
With intense telepathic guidance from Emma Frost, the Sentry recovered his lost memories, made the Void disappear, and joined the New Avengers in NEW AVENGERS (2004) #10 by Bendis and McNiven
and his Watchtower reemerged atop Stark Tower
After coming to understand his nature and the Void's connections to him
Iron Man ultimately drafted him onto his Pro-Registration side
and continued to discover the limits of his powers
including the apparent ability to resurrect the recently deceased
In the ensuing battle, the Sentry and the World-Breaker Hulk unleashed their full power against each other, destroying part of Manhattan. After exhausting almost all of their power, the Sentry and the Hulk returned to their human forms and collapsed in WORLD WAR HULK (2007) #5 by Pak and Romita Jr
After Osborn gave the Sentry another dose of the Golden Sentry Serum, the Void returned and agreed to work for Osborn. As the Sentry carried out Osborn's orders, the Void began to assert more control over the hero, especially when he faced off against the Molecule Man and tried to incinerate himself in the Sun
After the Void led the Sentry through a brutal battle against the Avengers and Thor, Reynolds reasserted himself and asked the heroes to kill him in SIEGE (2009) #4 by Bendis and Coipel
Thor killed the Sentry when the Void regained control of his body
and the God of Thunder subsequently flew the Sentry's body into the Sun to keep the Void from regenerating
