Bayern had different expectations for the loan
As a regular for Bayern II in the 2023/24 season and even making into the senior team’s matchday squad once, Max Scholze seemed ready to take the next step from the Regionalliga. Bayern Munich agreed
Liga side SC Verl for the 2024/25 season seemed like a good move for the 19-year-old right back
appearing in both of the club’s opening fixtures before an ankle injury disrupted his momentum and saw him struggle for game time for the rest of the Hinrunde
playing just 131 total minutes in 19 matches
“His time with us was extremely unfortunate due to the early injury
he always gave it his all and showed his best side.”
Though the move was likely made to give Scholze the game time he needs
Bayern were likely also looking to bolster the U-23’s full back depth
After left back Adam Aznou became a full-time member of the senior team and right back Vincent Manuba suffered an ACL injury
Bringing back Scholze will help the team and the game time will hopefully aid the player
could and should Bayern have promoted one of the four right backs in the U-19s instead and spread out game time between the players currently at the club
Bayern Munich is in the midst of a number of important contract situation
so let’s talk about them on the Bavarian Podcast Works Show
Is Jamal Musiala a big enough draw to lure other top flight players (like Cristiano Ronaldo or Leo Messi)
Will Bayern end up paying too much for Alphonso Davies

& Great-Great Grandpa returned home to be home to be with “sweetheart” and his Father in Heaven along with his son
and two grandsons who have been waiting for his return on December 12
to Glen Madison Chidester and Doris Fedelia Miller
Navy in 1955 and served actively for two years aboard the USS Cunningham
he was released from Active duty in 1957 and then served two years active reserves and was honorably discharged in 1959
He married his beautiful “sweetheart” Donna Joy Snow on January 13
They loved each other so much that they renewed their wedding vows several times before they were eternally sealed in the Salt Lake LDS Temple on July 19
They began raising their children in Sandy
Utah in their humble eight hundred square foot house
until the house just was not big enough anymore for six children
Utah where they added three additional children for a total of nine
Dad was devoted to providing for his family
many times working more than one job to be able to put food on the table and a roof over our heads
then as a Sheet Metal Worker for Greip Sheet Metal
After many years he decided to start his own business Sheet Metal Systems
He was so successful at it that in 1995 he was able to retire
and he and his “sweetheart” moved to Mesquite
Nevada while turning the business over to three of his sons
Dad and Mom were able to travel extensively
including an incredibly special trip to Chichester
Dad was attending a family reunion and the subject of “The Chidester Mansion” came up
finding it to be for sale at that time they ended up buying it
They moved to Panguitch and while living there he was able to purchase more property across the street and build a four plex
mostly by himself but with help from family when needed
He also built a real old-style cabin in the front yard of the Chidester mansion which can still be seen today
this was not a log kit it was built by him just like you would do it in the old days
our father always seemed to take 2 steps forward and then 3 steps backwards in time
they were called to serve a mission and accepted
they decided to move back to their home in Mesquite until they moved back to Utah in 2016
so they could be closer to several of their children
Preceded in death by his “sweetheart” Donna Joy Snow
his parents Glen Madison Chidester and Doris Fedelia Miller
Our family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to those at Renew Hospice and Home Option Personal Care
for the care they provided to dad in his final days here on earth

The world became a little less colorful on Sunday
but loving human being never had to wonder how he felt about anything
he had no problem saying it with spice and a string of colorful words
Verl was born to loving and adoring parents
coined as the “Golden Child” by his older (late) brother
began working with his father at ‘Deming Construction’ – a family-owned business – in high school and working full-time side by side with his dad after returning home from college
little “ditties” and colorful language with one another until Verl eventually took over the construction business when his dad retired
Despite conflicting stories of who chased who
we believe that Verl laid the charm on thick and eventually asked Anne to marry him in May 1982
Anne asked Verl to pick a date and he replied
thinking there were only 30 days in July – or so the story was told many times by Verl
Each year on their anniversary when asked how long they had been married
they celebrated 41 glorious years together
After retiring from his private business
Verl remained in construction and helped build the Ellsworth Correctional Facility (ECF) where both he and Anne later became employed
they worked a combined total of almost 60 years for ECF
During the first four years of their marriage
Verl and Anne spent their time together with lifelong friends and their children
Verl and Anne accepted the fact that children might not be in their cards
They were living vicariously through their best friends but enjoying the fact that they didn’t have any responsibilities and had plenty of freedom to come and go as they pleased – when they found out in 1986 that they would be having a baby in November
into the world on November 17. Three and a half years later
completed the family of four and was born on April 19
Both Randi and Ross had a blessed childhood with many amazing memories
they spent time at the lake with Anne and Verl’s close friends and their children and enjoyed cruising dirt roads with the windows down and music blaring
and good family friends made many memories and met more friends while attending Kansas State University football games for a couple of decades and were active members of the local Catbacker group
You could catch Verl and Randi at many KSU basketball games as well
Verl shared a love of sports with Randi and a love of vintage Chevy vehicles with Ross
Blazer rides with his family and the annual Father’s Day Blazer Cruise with Ross with the top down and wind in his hair was one of his favorite past times and memories made together
Verl gave Randi and Ross an appreciation for The Oldies and Rock and Roll
and many others played in their living room while Verl and Anne danced like no one was watching
Verl could twist and shout and swing with the best of them
He always said that Fred and Ginger didn’t hold a candle to him and Anne
They went on several vacations over the years
If Anne and the kids wanted to stop at every “dog and pony show”
a sarcastic name given to him on one of their trips
Obviously calling Verl Happy Pappy never made the situation any better
and neither did the mule at Mount Rushmore that spit banana all over the window of his freshly washed car
Verl joined the Catholic Church in April of 1995 so he could receive communion with his daughter when she made her First Communion later that month
Bernard for years with his family and a member of Knights of Columbus
Verl retired from ECF as the Key Control Specialist Sergeant
oversaw the armory and was a firearms instructor
During his almost 28 years at the facility
he met more life-long friends that he and Anne considered family
he was kept busy and entertained by his wife who retired a couple of years later
and the exorbitant number of activities that his grandchildren were involved in
Verl exposed a much softer side of himself when he became a grandfather
He was an active and thoughtful “Papa”/”PopPop”
Despite moments of gruffness he tried to display
the grandkids had a way of melting his heart
He was still attending any event he could make it to of the grandkids – right up to the very end
he made sure he called several times and always requested pictures and videos
He will be greatly missed by grandchildren (Randi and Eric Nienke) Roselyn
When there was ever a discussion of his children moving from Ellsworth
Verl would either ignore the discussion altogether or get fairly vocal that Ellsworth had everything you needed – why go anywhere else
Verl was so appreciative of everything his wife
had done for him in the last couple of years
he called Randi and told her that Anne needed a certificate made
but he would tell Randi what needed to be on there
The list was so long that Randi told Verl she needed him to write it all down because she would never remember all of it
or bystander that his wife needed an “RN” tacked on the end of her name
“She’s the best damn caregiver anyone could ask for.” He mentioned many times that he had no idea what he did to be so lucky to have married such an amazing woman
We imagine Verl was greeted at the Pearly Gates with a welcoming party hosted by his parents
and a few family members and friends he missed dearly
and grandkids and smiling proudly with his chest puffed out the way it got any time he talked about his family
We know he will be cheering on his Duke Blue Devils and
and a vigil and rosary service will start at 7:00 p.m
Memorial contributions can be made to Caring Families Foundation (for school lunches

Dave grew up in Salt Lake City in the Poplar Grove area
He was an only child and had many fond memories of visiting grandparents and cousins in Mt
he started working with his father at the New House Hotel
This started Dave’s love for work and staying busy
Soon after graduating from West High School
Dave married Leslie Hintze Eggett on July 25
Their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple on July 25
Dave retired from the Davis School District after 30 years of service in the Custodial Department
Then he ventured off to be a tour bus driver for Coach USA
a school bus driver for two different school districts
and then ended with maintaining and driving the school buses for Madeleine Choir School for 15 years
Many grandchildren and neighbor kids loved riding in the bus with Dave
He was one who never talked badly of others
He made everyone around him feel loved and always had a smile on his face
He was a hard worker and always needed to be busy
Dave had a strong testimony of his Savior Jesus Christ
and was the Building Maintenance Coordinator and Shed Scheduler
