Jubel und anhaltender Applaus brandet im Rathausfoyer auf

Kristian Ewald kam auf 33,9 Prozent und Manfred Schäfer auf 5,4 Prozent
Allen voran seiner Familie mit Ehefrau Brigit: „Ohne dich hätte ich das nicht geschafft.“ Amtsinhaber Günter Jung dankte er für die gemeinsame Zeit im Rathaus
Aber daraus sei auch viel Gutes entstanden
Der Wahlkampf sei für den 51-Jährigen eine „wichtige Erfahrung gewesen“
„Darauf freue ich mich.“ Steinmetz sei offen für die Zusammenarbeit mit allen Fraktionen und Ortsbeiräten
Ein Dank ging an die beiden Mitbewerber Kristian Ewald und Manfred Schäfer
Der Wahlkampf sei stets fair geführt worden
Zum Wahlerfolg gratulierten auch Landrat Winfried Becker und SPD-Kreisvorsitzender Edgar Franke
mit Steinmetz einen „kompetenten Partner im Schwalm-Eder-Kreis zu wissen.“ Steinmetz sollte aus seinem Job als Büroleiter wissen
was auf ihn zukommt: „Der schönste Beruf der Welt.“
