Ein 51-jähriger Mann aus Eschenlohe fuhr mit seiner Ehefrau
in einem schwarzen Hyundai Tucson von Iffeldorf nach Antdorf
aber aufgrund seiner starken Alkoholisierung
kam der Fahrer nach rechts von der Straße ab
überschlug sich und kam auf der Fahrerseite liegend zum Stehen
Aufgrund der Lage des Fahrzeugs waren Fahrer und Beifahrerin eingeklemmt und konnten sich nicht selbst befreien
Zum Glück kamen weitere Personen zur Unfallörtlichkeit und leisteten Erste Hilfe
Fahrer und Beifahrer konnten durch die Freiwillige Feuerwehr Antdorf geborgen werden
Da bei dem Fahrer starker Alkoholgeruch wahrgenommen wurde
wurde bei ihm ein Atemalkoholtest durchgeführt

Sie prallte mit ihrem Pkw in das Heck des stehenden Fahrzeuges

Peißenberg – Einbruchsversuch in Optikergeschäft: Am Donnerstag
gegen 2.40 Uhr konnte ein Zeuge einen Einbruchsversuch in das Optikergeschäft im Marie-Juchacz-Weg beobachten
Durch den Täter wurde mit einem Stein eine Scheibe des Geschäftes eingeworfen und versucht das Fenster aufzuhebeln

Dem 96-Jährigen erschien dies zunächst alles glaubhaft
woraufhin er eine sechsstellige Summe für die Betrüger parat hielt
Diese sollte von der angeblichen Staatsanwältin bei ihm Zuhause abgeholt werden
erschien schließlich später an der Wohnanschrift

erschien ein 47-jähriger Spanier mit Wohnsitz im Landkreis Weilheim bei der Polizeiinspektion Weilheim
dass an seinem Fahrzeug beanstandete Mängel behoben wurden

using efficient production processes.”
Cellcentric employs more than 100 people in Esslingen-Pliensauvorstadt
with 10,300 square metres of production and logistics space as well as office and administration rooms at its disposal
The company’s declared aim is to sell fuel cell systems in large series worldwide “that achieve the best possible total cost of ownership (TCO) in the highly competitive transport industry,” according to Cellcentric
The joint venture is naturally focussing on the planned FCEV trucks of the two shareholders Daimler Truck and Volvo
but it is also conceivable that they could be used in other vehicles such as coaches or sold to third parties
Cellcentric plans to cover the entire ecosystem around fuel cell systems from production to maintenance and recycling
It will certainly be interesting to see how Cellcentric synchronises with the market launch of Daimler Truck’s GenH2 truck
Its series production was previously planned for 2027
100 fuel cell trucks from the next development stage of the GenH2 Truck will initially be delivered to customers
Series production is then scheduled for the “end of the decade.”

may offer an almost-readymade solution to the problem of providing sufficient ground station capacity to support ESA’s current and future deep-space exploration missions
ESA is sending some of the most advanced spacecraft ever flown to exotic locations like Mars
and these missions all have one thing in common: they need plenty of ground station capacity to download their masses of science data and to enable mission controllers to send up commands
“The stations were built between 2002 and 2012
and their capacity in transmitting and receiving data will soon be reached
given the ambitious missions like BepiColombo
ExoMars and Juice now being implemented – and the fact that these newer spacecraft can all download tremendous amounts of science data,” says Pier Bargellini

With an eye to solving the challenge, engineers at ESA and The German Aerospace Center (DLR) have begun assessing the possibility of using an existing 30 m-diameter dish antenna at Weilheim
to provide some add-on tracking capacity at the European longitude
This could solve part of the capacity problem on this continent while at the same time reusing existing European infrastructure and reducing the need for costly new construction
DLR Weilheim features a number of dish antennas with varying sizes and the site is operated 24 hours/day to support near-Earth missions such as TerraSAR-X, TanDEM-X and GRACE Follow On controlled from DLR’s German Space Operations Centre at Oberpfaffenhofen. The smaller antennas are also used to support ESA missions orbiting Earth, like Integral
The 30 m dish antenna supported ESA missions in the past
and is presently used when DLR supports partner agencies
such as downloading data from the Hayabusa 2 mission flown by Japan
It has also recently been used to receive signals from global navigation satellites like GPS and Galileo
A series of initial tests conducted by DLR and ESA engineers in the past few months proved that the dish and its sophisticated radio equipment could receive signals from current ESA missions
“Since the 30 m antenna was designed for solar and deep space missions
we are happy to see ESA’s interest in bringing it back to its original purpose,” says Rolf Kozlowski
head of the DLR Communications and Ground Stations department
“To integrate the antenna into the ESA network would be a challenging but rewarding task for DLR.”
“In addition to the reception functionality, the antenna could be upgraded to add transmission capabilities. Its overall characteristics makes it ideal to support missions at lunar distances or even missions to the Lagrange points.”
Joint activities between ESA and national space agencies in the area of communications are excellent examples of how Europe can become even more capable and stronger by developing a ‘network of operational centres’. By linking the efforts of control centres operated by ESA and agencies like DLR

In January, the German town of Weilheim an der Teck had reached an agreement with the last remaining landowner of the central areas, more than a year and a half after the referendum that gave the green light for the new industrial estate. As a result, the negotiations with Cellcentric were to be “finalised” so that the first work could begin in autumn 2024
The excavators were originally due to start rolling in 2023
The FC joint venture founded by Daimler Truck and the Volvo Group has now also confirmed that it is lagging behind the original plan
“Due to the delayed purchase of the land
we are one and a half years behind the original schedule with the construction of our air conditioning plant,” Cellcentric CEO Matthias Jurytko told Automobilwoche
Despite the delay – the final construction phase is now not due to be completed until 2031 – Jurytko remains committed to the location
“We chose Weilheim because the expertise for fuel cells is concentrated in south-west Germany,” said Jurytko
The original plan was for fuel cell systems for heavy commercial vehicles to be built in Weilheim from the beginning of 2026 – initially for the two shareholders and later also for third-party customers
Jurytko now told “Automobilwoche” that the plan for the first delivery should be met in 2027/2028

The studio exhibition solves an enthralling mystery regarding the work of renowned Augsburg Baroque sculptor Georg Petel
It presents a spectacular reconstruction of his gilded Crucifixion group comprising a rendering of Christ on the cross from the Bayerisches Nationalmuseum in Munich
and his masterfully crafted thieves from the Bode-Museum in Berlin
the Berlin Skulpturensammlung acquired two masterfully crafted
bronze-cast figures of the two thieves Dismas and Gestas
rendered by the brilliant South German Baroque sculptor Georg Petel (1601/02–1634)
the most important part of the ensemble – the Corpus Christi nailed to the cross – was missing
a surprise discovery was made in the depot of the Bayerisches Nationalmuseum in Munich: a bronze crucifix displaying a number of similarities to the two thieves housed in Berlin – the material used
and not least the incredible rendering of Christ’s anatomy are such a striking match that the statuette in Munich could ultimately be positively identified as the missing centre piece of Petel’s Crucifixion group
Experts were able to substantiate this attribution on the basis of art-historical stylistic criticism using sophisticated methods of technical analysis (CT scans and alloy analyses)
thereby proving that all three of the figures had indeed been produced in the same workshop environment
It was soon decided that this new discovery should be presented to the general public in the context of an exhibition – a collaboration between the Skulpturensammlung and the Museum für Byzantinische Kunst in Berlin and the Bayerisches Nationalmuseum in Munich
refined exhibition presents the newly reassembled ensemble of sculptures created by the internationally renowned and well-connected Baroque sculptor in its original artistic context alongside more than a dozen works loaned to the museum from private collections in Berlin
Georg Petel was lauded as the “German Michelangelo” well into the 18th century and is still regarded today as Germany’s first Baroque sculptor
There is no doubt that he was an outstanding figure in the German art world of the early 17th century
who was born in Weilheim and studied both there and in Munich
before travelling on to Rome and Genoa via Paris
It was there that he enjoyed close creative contact with some of the most prominent artists of the day
François Duquesnoy and likely also Gian Lorenzo Bernini
This creative dialogue directly influenced his practice
and his Baroque use of forms now acquired a new level of expressive intensity
he became the most successful sculptor of his time
wood and bronze set new artistic benchmarks
This concentrated view of the reunited Crucifixion group – combined with thrilling new insights into its production – offers visitors the opportunity to consider the complex artistic conditions surrounding the artwork’s conception: which exemplary works – from antiquity and Michelangelo to Petel’s contemporaries Rubens and Bernini – occupied and influenced the artist throughout his years of training and travel in an age of armed denominational conflicts and artistic innovations
All of these aspects are demonstrated and explained by Georg Petel’s Crucifixion group
which continues to dazzle viewers to this day

The final preparations for the launch of the EDRS-C satellite are currently underway at the German Space Operations Center (GSOC) in Oberpfaffenhofen. The communications satellite is scheduled to lift off from the European Spaceport in French Guiana on 6 August 2019 and will be a core component of the European Data Relay System (EDRS) – the 'space data highway'
Using satellite-based Laser Communications Terminals (LCTs)
EDRS can transmit large amounts of data from space to Earth in a very short time
The German Aerospace Center (Deutsches Zentrum für Luft- und Raumfahrt; DLR) and GSOC are responsible for operating the EDRS-C satellite
Approximately 100 GSOC staff members have been deployed for the EDRS-C ground segment – from staffing the control room in Oberpfaffenhofen to the provision of IT infrastructure and support for the ground station in Weilheim
The mission operations for the overall system are conducted at the premises of Airbus Defence and Space in Ottobrunn
more than 23,000 intersatellite links with an availability of more than 99.8 percent have already been realised
In recent weeks and months, the operations specialists have set up and tested the ground systems and trained for mission operations in various simulations. Over the next few days, GSOC will commission the new ERDS-C satellite together with a team of engineers from satellite manufacturer OHB System in Bremen, Prime Contractor Airbus Defence and Space and the European Space Agency (ESA) – one of the main clients for the project.
GSOC will provide satellite operations and data relay services for 15 years. GSOC will also support the further development of the EDRS infrastructure and will use the data highway for its own Earth observation satellites.
EDRS is a public-private partnership between the ESA and Airbus Defence and Space. DLR invested 8.7 million euro from its research funds in the development of the complete EDRS ground segment and the preparations for its operation. The Bavarian Ministry of Economic Affairs, Regional Development and Energy provided 7.5 million euro.

DLR/GSOC has assumed responsibility for providing a GPS-based onboard navigation system offering absolute and relative orbit information in real-time
each satellite will carry two independent GPS receivers for redundancy and coverage reasons
An intersatellite link will be applied to transmit GPS and telemetry data from the sub-satellite to the micro-satellite and to relay telecommands through the micro-satellite to the sub-satellite
High-grade single-frequency Phoenix GPS receivers have been adopted for the mission
The receivers are based on a commercial-off-the-shelf hardware platform running DLR’s proprietary software
With a code tracking accuracy of better than 0.5 m and a carrier-phase accuracy of better than 1 mm at 45 dB-Hz
the Phoenix receivers outperform most other industrial GPS receivers for space applications
its low mass (50 g) and power consumption (0.8 W) renders Phoenix ideally suited for use on satellites with tight onboard resources
In addition to the GPS-based navigation system of the PRISMA mission
DLR contributes the Spaceborne Autonomous Formation Flying Experiment (SAFE)
robust and precise formation flying of spacecraft
SAFE complements other PRISMA experiments and focuses on autonomous and fuel-optimized formation flying at representative distances of 100 to 2000 m
guidance and control algorithms based on an eccentricity and inclination vector separation strategy will be employed
This ensures a maximum operational safety in contingency cases and is ideally suited for future radar missions which realize a close formation flight

Tunnel demolition project in Stuttgart presented unique engineering challenge for Fischer Weilheim GmbH
A CIVIL engineering team at Fischer Weilheim GmbH has developed a new
economical step-by-step methodology for the removal of thick concrete tunnel lining in a tram tunnel in Stuttgart
As a part of the city’s Stuttgart 21 railway redevelopment project
numerous tunnels have been earmarked for excavation
while several other existing tunnels will be modified
where a passageway connecting the new Staatsgalerie tram stop and Klettpassage (Hauptbahnhof station) is being rebuilt
One of the most challenging aspects of the new redevelopment was modifying a 120m stretch of the existing tunnel
The initial phase was to gradually remove the crown of the tunnel and take out the lining at floor level while
supporting the opening with the installation of ironwork
Demolition work proceeded by removing material from the top and bottom of the tunnel; achieved via a hydraulic excavator equipped with breaker and shear cutter attachments
progress was made difficult than usual when the engineering team had to remove the wall lining of the tunnel
which had a bituminous sealing layer and brickwork between the concrete lining and outer soil
Using the conventional method of an excavator and breaker attachment
Fischer Weilheim found that it was impossible to prevent the three layers becoming mixed together
the contractor approached Kemroc to help develop an innovative method to remove the tunnel walls into segments
The engineering team at Fischer Weilheim decided to use a rental Liebherr R950 tunnel excavator equipped with a breaker
a shear and two Kemroc cutting attachments as the strategic choice of equipment for reliability and productivity in this tunnelling application
the walls were divided into single 4m to 6m wide sections which were later torn down and processed
a fourth-generation partner at Fischer Weilheim
removing the tunnel lining in segments step-by-step was crucial in delivering the required increased productivity on the tunnel demolition project
‘It was clear that this was the most effective and economical method for the demolition and separation of material in the tunnel lining,’ he commented
‘We doubled the expected production rate when compared with the single use of hydraulic hammers
since it is logistically challenging to gain full productivity from an excavator with breaker in a confined space of a tunnel
Once each segment was torn down to the tunnel base
it was much easier to break them down using the hydraulic breaker.’

"We work with a family business that has been growing for over 100 years
producing around 1,200 tons a year in the region

The company has been buying plums from Bosnia since 2014

there were only a few German plums and so I was able to deliver around 600 tons." After the Bosnian season there are the goods from Macedonia; in September they will come from Turkey
Gütinger has big plans for the future: The current acreage of 12.5 hectares is to be extended by an additional 10 hectares
"My local partner also advises neighboring companies on the management of plantations
crop protection and pruning - in return he can buy the goods there for export."
but now he also wants to convince the consumer in the fresh market
He would like to further expand the wholesale business
since there would simply be greater flexibility there than with the large food retail chains
