and the standard Taycan Turbo GT is no slouch
MotorTrend’s new undisputed 0–60-mph champ
was a disappointment to Tesla; the quickest production Model S Plaid we’ve tested needed 2.24 seconds.)
our quarter-mile record holder with its blistering 9.21 seconds at 157.1 mph
As you’d expect from a car developed on the Nürburgring
the Taycan Turbo GT Weissach is capable of far more than blistering speeds in a straight line
Its lap time on our figure-eight course is just 21.86 seconds at 1.03 g average—the fourth best in the history of our signature handling test
That puts this four-door electric car firmly in the company of high-performance mid-engine supercars; for example
the Weissach trailed a C8 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 Z07 by a hundredth of a second while averaging more g
and it comes in behind the Ferrari 296 GTB and McLaren 765 LT only by a rounding error
The Porsche’s 60–0-mph braking performance is similarly impressive
stopping in just 93 feet—the best figure we’ve yet seen from an electric car
The Tesla is rated for 348 miles but covers 270
while the Lucid is rated at 427 miles but covers 331 miles
Rather than go the tri-motor route like its Tesla and Lucid rivals
Porsche steadily refined the Taycan’s relatively unconventional powertrain configuration
which consists of a permanent-magnet motor at either axle
with the front motor connected to a single-speed transmission and the rear to a two-speed automatic
105-kWh battery pack (97 usable) and a massive new 900-amp silicon-carbide pulse inverter mounted atop the rear axle
the Taycan Turbo GT’s new motors combine for a nominal 777 hp and 855 lb-ft of torque
another 160 hp is available on demand while on the move by grabbing the “upshift” Attack paddle
Even more juice is available from a standstill
with launch control unlocking a massive 1,019 hp and 914 lb-ft
lending to our first-ever sub-2-second 0–60-mph time
All Taycan Turbo GTs now also get a newActive Ride electrohydraulic suspension system
The no-cost Weissach option pulls weight out of the Turbo GT (199 pounds on our scales) by replacing the rear seats with a carbon-fiber tub
and fitting the car with a fixed carbon-fiber spoiler and additional underbody aero
The collective effort Porsche put into the Taycan Turbo GT makes it the most thrilling electric performance car we’ve experienced to date
there’s little time to process the front and rear tires fighting for grip or the dual motors’ menacing whine as your body slams into the seatback
your cheeks making way toward the rear glass
The Taycan Turbo GT Weissach is equally at home when attacking corners on twisty roads
There’s an immediacy in the Porsche’s responses; its quick steering
and forgiving suspension all react in tandem to changes in the road
subtly communicating those to the driver through the steering wheel and seat
With serious performance credibility and ridiculous charging capability, the 2025 Porsche Taycan Turbo GT Weissach is proof positive that enthusiasts don’t need to fear the electric era. Embrace it, even, because it’s beyond quick.

Grosse Pointe, Michigan, April 14, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Broad Arrow Auctions, a Hagerty (NYSE: HGTY) company, has released the complete digital catalog for its second annual Porsche Auction
in partnership with the Air|Water happening at the Orange County Fairgrounds
The catalog counts 55 Porsche collector cars alongside 20 lots of hard-to-find Porsche memorabilia and one half-scale Dakar Junior child’s car
The Air|Water Auction presents Porsche enthusiasts with the opportunity to bring home supremely collectible Porsche examples worthy of any serious collection
with final featured entries led by rare and desirable modern open-top Porsche performance cars
including a 2015 Porsche 918 Spyder Weissach Martini Racing (Estimate: $2,700,000 - $3,000,000)
The Porsche 918 is a technical tour de force
following in the footsteps of the 959 and Carrera GT before it
yet equally as capable of 30 mph all-electric urban travel as it is of 200 mph track performance
Just 918 Spyders were produced between September 2013 and June 2015
and the car’s performance stats remain astonishing today
paired with two electric motors—one for each axle—delivers a combined output of 887 horsepower at 8,500 rpm and 944 lb-ft of torque in seventh gear
Power is sent through a lightning-fast seven-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission
The optional $84,000 Weissach Package trimmed 90 pounds off the weight by incorporating magnesium wheels
the sprint to 60 mph dropped to just 2.5 seconds
The car on offer at Broad Arrow’s Porsche Air|Water Auction
is finished in the classic Porsche racing color of White and is one of only 15 918 Spyders delivered to the U.S
with the highly-desirable Martini Racing graphics package—an homage to Martini’s world-famous title sponsorship of factory Porsche race cars throughout the 1970s and 80s
Also equipped with the desirable Weissach Package
441 has covered fewer than 1,900 miles since new and has been meticulously serviced at Porsche and supercar specialists throughout its life
Offered with its original factory car cover
918 Spyder number 441 represents a pure opportunity to acquire a supremely collectible example of the record-breaking hypercar
Offered alongside the 918 Spyder is an unmodified and beautifully preserved example of its predecessor
number 0541 (Estimate: $1,800,000 - $2,100,000)
Finished in the ever-popular shade of GT Silver Metallic
the car shows less than 800 original miles and includes several often-missing delivery items
including its complete factory luggage set trimmed in the same Dark Grey leather as the car’s interior
Surely the finest analog supercar of the 2000s
this superb example of the Carrera GT offers its next caretaker the chance to experience the peak of an unrepeatable era
“We’re thrilled to offer the 918 Spyder Weissach as an important milestone in the Porsche marque’s lineage at our Air|Water Auction,” says Alexander Weaver
Senior Car Specialist and VP of Private Sales for Broad Arrow
“When you look at the big three hypercars released in 2013—the McLaren P1
and the Porsche 918—the 918 is the most user-friendly of all
and good looks whether the roof is on or off
The example on offer wears the extremely rare Martini Racing livery
setting it even further apart from the pack
The Carrera GT we’re presenting is also exceptional
it boasts an extensive and meticulous service file
rare accessories included and is both a collector-grade and ready-to-use car—whatever you want it to be.”
Additional modern open-top Porsches on offer include a 2019 Porsche 911 Speedster (Estimate: $400,000 - $450,000)
Lava Orange example of the final 991-generation model produced and one of just 588 for the U.S
Rounding out the group is a near-new 2024 Porsche 718 Spyder RS Weissach
and the incredible combination of 911 GT3 power in a mid-engine
open-top package (Estimate: $220,000 - $250,000)
Porsche values have remained stronger and more constant than nearly any other collectible brand
as we’ve witnessed with the successful sale of multiple examples over the last year
We’re looking forward to presenting more than 50 of the highest quality and most sought-after Porsches on the market to what is perhaps the hobby’s most passionate group of enthusiasts later this month.”
Additional highlights set for The Porsche Air|Water Auction include some of the Porsche brand’s most iconic and collectible models across decades of production:
three-time IMSA champion Felipe Nasr said: “On the uphill climb before Curva do Café
I used Attack Mode and the car reached 169mph by the end of the corner
I was already reaching more than 124mph coming onto the back straight
It's amazing how brutally the car accelerates and delivers its power.”
Such pace is made possible by the dual-motor setup, which peaks at 1,020bhp and 915lb ft when the ‘Overboost’ mode is active. With the Weissach aero package equipped, this thing gets from 0-62mph in just 2.1s and will keep going right up to 190mph. Brutal indeed.
Which track record do you reckon Porsche is going for next?

Both versions of the GT3 get sharper front fascia designs
aligned with the updates to the standard 2025 911
Enhanced aerodynamics include redesigned front splitters and air inlets
The standard track-oriented GT3 has a redesigned rear wing
while the more road-oriented Touring package has an active rear spoiler with a gurney flap and a different engine cover
Being the track-attack machine that the GT3 has always been
weight savings remains the name of the game
There are new lightweight aluminum wheels that Porsche says save 3.3 pounds
and a lightweight lithium-ion battery saves another 10 pounds
you can spring for magnesium wheels that reduce the weight by another 20 pounds
The powertrain for the 992.2 GT3 carries over from the pre-facelift model
The naturally aspirated 4.0-liter flat-6 boxer engine produces 503 horsepower and 331 pound-feet of torque
The GT3 can certainly get going with a 0 to 60 time of just 3.2 seconds and top speed of 193 mile per hour for the automatic or 3.7 seconds and a top speed of 195 mph for the manual
Due to more strict emission control standards
Porsche had to equip the new GT3's engine with four catalytic converters and two particulate filters
the engine can still hit a screaming 9,000 RPM redline
Buyers can pair that engine with either a seven-speed PDK dual-clutch automatic or a six-speed GT Sport manual transmission with a new final drive ratio that's eight percent shorter
Inside, buyers can option and customize the GT3 Touring with their choice of high-grade leather, and in a first for the GT3, the Touring is available with optional rear seats something, Porsche says customers had been requesting. Unlike the 992.2 Carrera models
instead sticking with the twist knob to the left of the steering wheel
It does get the same fully digital gauge cluster as other new 911s
with a special Track Screen that displays performance info
and you can set the tach to show the 9,000-rpm redline at the 12 o'clock mark
Buyers interested in the 2025 911 GT3 can begin placing their orders at the end of the year, but it'll be a bit of wait before they can get their hands on the cars as deliveries won't commence until summer 2025. You'll have to dig deep in your bank account to buy one, of course. Pricing will start at $224,495 including destination, a jump of more than $40,000 over the 992.1 GT3.
Porsche has revealed the updated version of its track-focused 911 GT3. The new model is available with the optional Weissach package for the first time. It is also available in the slightly toned-down Touring spec.
The 992.2 Porsche 911 GT3 facelift gets several tiny updates that are said to make a huge difference when it comes to the driving experience. It is powered by a 4.0-liter, flat-6 engine that revs to 9000 rpm and delivers 502 hp to the rear wheels. The engine is paired with a 6-speed manual as standard, but you also get an optional 7-speed PDK.
The engine gets new throttle bodies, oil coolers, revised heads, and reworked camshafts. The gearbox also features shorter ratios. Porsche has also tweaked the double wishbone suspension on the new GT3. Changes have been made to the front to reduce drive under braking.
The 911 GT3 facelift gets subtle changes on the outside. It has revised front and rear bumpers with exposed carbon elements, a redesigned rear diffuser with a centre exhaust, a new engine cover, and a top-mounted rear wing. The optional Weissach package adds a carbon fibre roof, new anti-roll bars, drop links, shear panel, end plates and carbon mirror caps. Customers can also opt for lightweight magnesium wheels.
Inside, the updated model gets a digital instrument console instead of a semi-analogue cluster. The car is now available with new carbon bucket seats with unique removable headrests. The Touring version gets optional rear seats as well.
The 2025 Porsche 911 GT3 facelift will go on sale in the summer with a price tag of $224,495.

Broad Arrow Auctions, a Hagerty (NYSE: HGTY) company, is thrilled to offer an exciting group of over 155 collectible cars at its Monterey Auction this 14-15 August at the Monterey Jet Center. Highlights include this 2015 Porsche 918 Spyder Weissach Package estimated at $2,400,000 – $2,700,000
Following in the footsteps of the illustrious Carrera GT
the well-received Porsche 918 design study was first shown at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show with the highly exclusive model entering production for 2013
Competing directly with Ferrari and McLaren
these three titans of the supercar market developed their latest generation of hybrid-electric hypercars
Unveiled all within the same calendar year for 2013
all three not only pushed the limits of performance but also did so as efficiently and sustainably as possible
Each offering a unique perspective on the optimal solution for harvesting and deploying hybrid energy
and P1 all helped lay the framework for hybrid-electric performance vehicles
variations of which are offered in their latest creations
Even if the performance facts and figures produced by the 918 Spyder are well known by now they still continue to astonish
dry sump V8 combined with two electric motors
one each driving front and rear wheels produces a total output of 887 hp at 8,500 rpm and 944 lb-ft of torque in seventh gear
That power is transmitted through a lightning-fast dual-clutch
Capable of traveling 12 miles using purely electric power
E-Power mode would still provide a top speed of 93 mph and nimble acceleration with zero to 60 mph in seven seconds
while a full-blown Hot Lap setting would utilize maximum power from both electric motors and the V8 with 60 mph achieved in less than three seconds
the 918 would also record sector-leading overall fuel consumption and emissions with an impressive range of 420 miles achieved in Hybrid mode
Porsche took the 918 Spyder to the Nürburgring Nordschleife
quickly setting a new lap record of 6 minutes 57 seconds
Figures less known are the thousands of hours spent testing the 24 918 Spyder test mules and prototypes across the world with 120 hours needed to assemble the 918
with a typical 911 of the period taking approximately two days
this 2015 Porsche 918 Spyder was delivered new through Porsche of Newport Beach
Equipped with sport bucket seats trimmed in Onyx Black leather with Silver piping providing a perfect complement to the contrast to the Meteor Grey exterior
Porsche have always ensured that high performance and luxury go hand-in-hand and the 918 Spyder is no different
The well-equipped interior features Burmester High-End Surround Sound Audio System
it features the optional weight-saving Weissach Package that
helped shed 90 pounds through the use of titanium bolts
and carbon fiber aerodynamic enhancements reducing the total weight to 3,616 pounds
through Porsche’s Exclusive Manufaktur program (CXX) it received Meteor Grey paint applied to its window frame and roof panels along with Silver painted brake calipers and remains the only Weissach Package 918 Spyder finished in Meteor Grey delivered to the United States with a Black and Silver leather interior
Offered with under 2,200 miles at the time of cataloging
this 918 Spyder is offered in excellent cosmetic and mechanical condition
Perfectly bridging the gap between usability and the ultimate modern Porsche collectible
it features a full PPF treatment and retains its car cover
and charging equipment in addition to a clean CARFAX Vehicle History Report
this 918 Spyder was the recipient of a Major Service in May of 2024 an authorized Porsche dealer at a cost of over $15,000
a brake and clutch fluid flush were all part of the service
At the same time the 918 Spyder received fresh Michelins and the air conditioning system received an inspection and service for optimum performance
As one of the original “holy trinity” hypercars
the highly-collectible 918 Spyder arguably delivered the most accomplished and versatile of the ultra-exclusive trio
It is a technical tour de force-especially in Weissach Package trim-equally as capable of 30 mph all-electric urban travel as it was of 200 mile per hour Hot Lap track performance
it also represented a car of superior ergonomics
and Porsche’s expected build quality
no serious Porsche or contemporary hypercar collection should be without one

Turn on Javascript to see all the available pictures.1 / 21Advertisement“The GT3’s evolution continues with lessons taken from the RS and S/T
And it’s available with rear seats”Good stuffStill revs to 9000rpm
highly configurable with new Weissach and Lightweight packages
Bad stuffAnother significant leap in price
You know what it is. We all do. The first GT3 was launched over a quarter of a century ago and the formula remains pretty much the same. In short, it’s a 911 with a motorsport-derived engine, track focus and a wonderfully single-minded approach to pure driving excitement. This second generation of the 992 GT3 hones the formula still further but remains true to the concept
The basics are that it’s a 911 with a 4.0-litre flat-six engine producing 503bhp and a slightly reduced 332lb ft (from 347lb ft)
The GT3 accelerates from 0-62mph in 3.4 seconds (the Touring
3.9s) and can reach 193mph (Touring 194mph)
Porsche is fighting hard to keep the GT3’s spirit and its naturally aspirated engine alive
but as legislation becomes ever more restrictive they’re having to pull out all the tricks to maintain or marginally improve performance
Including an eight per cent shorter final drive ratio…
As ever, it’s all in the detail. The GT3’s engine gets camshafts from the RS with longer duration
the individual throttle valves have been further flow-optimised to increase cylinder filling (this alone would see around a 5bhp gain if it wasn’t for the much tighter emissions regulations) and there’s improved cooling
On the suspension side the GT3 gets an aerodynamically sculpted and downforce-inducing front trailing arm (again from the RS) plus a lower pivot point
on a full emergency stop from 200kph the previous GT3 would dive 12mm at the front
Shorter bumpstops have also been introduced
increasing suspension travel but requiring a new RS-derived damper strategy that is said to enhance kerb striking abilities – or
Porsche has also worked hard to keep weight as low as possible despite the fitment of new emissions controls (the exhaust has four cats and two particulate filters) and the general creep of updating to the new generation 992
That should have gone up to 1,439kg but careful scrutiny has seen an increase of just 2kg to 1,420kg
Assuming you opt for the car in Touring spec (essentially
because it’s also the first time a GT3 has been offered with a Weissach Pack (for the standard bewinged car) or Lightweight Pack (Touring)
Let’s get really geeky and delve into exactly what this means…
the Weissach Pack is intended to shift the GT3’s focus even more in the direction of the racetrack
It consists of carbon fibre air blades at the front
a carbon fibre roof and end plates for the rear spoiler
Beneath the skin there’s more carbon fibre goodness – rear anti roll bars
The interior also gets lightweight door panels
race-tex trim and carbon fibre door handles
The GT3 can be specified in Clubsport spec at no cost
the Weissach Pack can be upgraded from the £15,597 standard version to one including a carbon fibre roll cage
This ultimate Weissach configuration is £19,531
let’s not forget the optional Magnesium wheels
which save a further 9.1kg for another £13,759
The Lightweight Pack is similar in terms of the carbon fibre exterior and interior stuff, plus if you have stuck with a manual transmission you’ll also get the shorter gear-lever from the 911 S/T. One point of difference is that the Lightweight Pack includes the magnesium wheels. As well it should for £29,223. As you can see, a fully lightened GT3 with a couple more choice options could easily be knocking on the door of £200,000.
The manual ‘box is a stunner. The throw is short but not fragile or fussy, so there’s no fear of mistakes. In fact you can just throw changes at it as fast as possible. The optional carbon ceramic brakes (£9,087) are also fantastically powerful and progressive. Better still is that the balance is so neutral and adjustable. Yes, some of the old 911 driving techniques still work, but for the most part you can just drive the GT3 like any mid-engined car and enjoy much greater traction.
On the road more of the detail comes through. The new ‘automatic friction compensation’ for the steering creates a more linear, natural feel and takes away the slightly jumpy feeling of the last 992 GT3. The ride remains pretty tough compared to, say, the new GTS T hybrid, but the wheels seem to trace the road surface with more consistency and control. It really is a deeply impressive car.
Sounds superb, too. Despite all those cats and filters, the flat-six sounds rich and free-breathing and the way it rips around to the limiter is something close to life-affirming. We tried the PDK on the road and it’s note perfect every single time. However, with a car so much about interaction we’d still take the manual…
The GT3 is still an incredible driving experience. It’s not quite as wild as the GT3 RS, nor does it simply ape the recent highly-prized S/T variant. Instead it goes its own way and, as a result, is arguably the more complete car.
It’s still razor sharp on the track but perhaps has a better balance of performance to grip than the downforce-obsessed RS, and it’s a bit more intense and controlled on the road than the deliberately more classical S/T. In truth neither really enters your mind when you’re dropped into the seat of the GT3. It’s completely absorbing, properly exciting and endlessly entertaining.
The UK’s bumpier, colder road surface might challenge the GT3 a little more than perfectly manicured Spanish tarmac, but we’d be amazed if its dynamic capabilities were fazed at all. The GT3 is one of those cars that always seems to be in its sweet spot.
The Porsche 911 Turbo has just celebrated its 50th birthday
but another brand hero is also celebrating a big anniversary this year
The racing and trackday icon 911 GT3 turns 25
the Zuffenhausen-based company is now launching the eighth generation
Fans generally regard the facelifts as a new generation because there is usually an incredible amount of new things happening with them. At first glance, the current facelift doesn't look like that at all. Among other things, for the first time in the history of the 911 GT3
there is no increase in performance in a product upgrade
and his team have once again been incredibly busy
We tell you what has changed in the 992.2 GT3
the naturally aspirated 4.0-litre boxer engine remains
at 510 PS it delivers exactly the same power as before
You can probably guess the reason for this
the dear emission regulations are becoming ever more rigid
The fact that the output has been kept almost constant is quite a feat
The engine is now equipped with two particulate filters and four catalytic converters. According to Porsche
it was still possible to achieve "an emotional soundscape"
The innovations on the 9,000 rpm king include revised cylinder heads and sharper camshafts from the 911 GT3 RS
which are intended to provide an even more dynamic power delivery in the upper rev range
flow-optimised individual throttle valves and optimised oil coolers are used
The power-to-weight ratio is 2.8 kg/PS at best
both the 7-speed PDK and the 6-speed manual gearbox have an eight per cent shorter final drive ratio compared to the predecessor
The facelifted 911 GT3 accelerates to 62 mph in 3.4 seconds with PDK and reaches a top speed of 193 mph
The manual transmission takes 3.9 seconds and 194 mph
A lap time on the Nordschleife is sure to follow
The current GT3 completed the 20.8 kilometres (12.9 miles) in 6:59 minutes
The big headline with the 992 GT3 at the beginning of 2021 was the first use of a double-wishbone front axle
aerodynamically shaped trailing arms with a drop profile have also been included
which optimise downforce in the wheel arch and brake cooling at high speeds
To ensure that the downforce balance between the front and rear axles is maintained even when braking from high speeds, pitching (anti-dive) is now reduced. To this end, the front ball joint of the lower trailing arm has been moved downwards, as in the current GT3 RS
the wet grip of the standard sports tyres (255/35 ZR20 at the front
315/30 ZR21 at the rear) has been improved
Track tyres with road approval are again available as an option
The engineers have also tweaked the damper set-up and the steering has also been improved
which motorsport legend and brand ambassador Walter Röhrl clearly appreciates:
you can clearly feel that the steering is even better tuned than in the predecessor"
"It conveys even more confidence in the car because it responds more smoothly from the centre position without losing any of its directness
The shorter transmission ratio also significantly increases driving pleasure on country roads"
Porsche plays on the theme of lightweight construction in the 911 GT3 facelift with a new
silver-coloured aluminium wheel that saves a good 1.5 kilos in total
Those who order the Weissach Package or the Leichtbau (Lightweight) package can - if they spend even more money - get magnesium wheels that shave off 9 kilograms
A new 40 Ah lithium-ion lightweight battery makes the car an additional four kilos lighter
the new 911 GT3 weighs 1,420 kilograms according to the manufacturer
you can recognise the refreshed 911 GT3 by the modified front and rear sections
a modified shape of the front lip and modified fins on the underbody ensure increased downforce and improved airflow
The redesigned Matrix LED main headlights are optionally available with a white accent ring
The new lights bundle all the lighting functions of the 911 and therefore make the additional lights in the front apron unnecessary
air intakes and boot lid have been redesigned at the rear
The rear wing of the 911 GT3 has been given new
You can see the old model on the left and the new GT3 on the right:

Porsche 911 GT3 with Touring package (2025)
The biggest news item in the interior is a new lightweight sports bucket seat with folding backrest and seat shell made of carbon fibre
electric height and manual length adjustment
Three-stage seat heating is available as an option
Part of the headrest upholstery can be removed - good if you are wearing a helmet
The rest of the cockpit is based on the recently upgraded 911 Carrera
except that the new start button has fortunately not made it into the GT3
The so-called "track screen" reduces the digital displays to the left and right of the rev counter to data on tyres
the rev counter display can be rotated so that the 9,000 mark is at the 12 o'clock mark
Nice for all rear wing haters as the popular Touring package is now available directly from the market launch
and even easier to recognise in the future
there is now "911 GT3 Touring" lettering on the boot lid grille
An extendable rear spoiler with Gurney flap and an adapted fin design on the underbody ensure aerodynamic balance
differentiates the Touring even more in terms of everyday usability
which further boosts racetrack performance and ambience
coupling rods and shear pane on the rear axle are made of CFRP
mirror triangle and the airblades at the front
There is also more leather and low-reflection Race-Tex in the interior
A CFK roll cage and the aforementioned magnesium forged wheels are available as options
A "Leichtbau" badge is located right in front of the gear lever
The Clubsport Package is available at no extra charge for the 911 GT3 with rear wing
It includes a bolted steel roll cage at the rear
a 6-point seat belt harness for the driver and a hand-held fire extinguisher for which the optional lightweight sports bucket seats are a prerequisite for this
The new Porsche 911 GT3 and the new Porsche 911 GT3 with Touring package can be ordered in the UK from the end of the year at prices starting at £157,300
The Weissach package costs £19,530 (without roll cage £15,597)
while the Leichtbau Package is available for £29,225
This option package includes magnesium wheels on the Touring
which are otherwise £13,760 for the winged GT3
