AAA continues to change and adapt as our marketplace and competitive environment evolves," Ragina C
manager of public and government affairs for AAA Mid-Atlantic and the AAA Club Alliance
"After careful consideration," AAA has decided to close its Hagerstown store on March 22 based on the expiration of the company's lease
in the Valley Park Commons shopping center
Susan Glass, assistant manager at the Hagerstown store, said senior travel agent Roxanne Ecker will continue that work. Customers will be able to connect with Ecker by going online at www.AAA.com and going under the Travel menu to "Find your travel agent."
Ecker was listed there on Tuesday by searching for Hagerstown

Members and nonmembers can go to any AAA store for service
but members who want to pay their membership bill in person need to go to a store within the same club
Glass said the Hagerstown store is part of AAA's Club Alliance
store is part of AAA East Central and the Chambersburg

The grant will support the development of innovative solutions to facilitate a successful transition from community colleges to an engineering program at four-year universities
enhancing both academic and professional opportunities for students
while engaging industry as critical partners to help sustain internship opportunities and the program broadly
Greg Pottie, a professor emeritus of electrical and computer engineering, and Associate Dean of Academic and Student Affairs Richard Wesel
a professor of electrical and computer engineering
are co-principal investigators on the project beginning in August
Their work will focus on removing barriers that hinder community college students from fully participating in the engineering workforce
“Transfer students from community colleges have a much shorter time span assimilating into a four-year university and are often overlooked for internship and other employment opportunities,” Pottie said
“One of the project’s objectives is to bridge this gap by providing these students with much-needed resources to improve employment outcomes after graduation.”
The program will fund staff support for the California Engineering Liaison Council (ELC)
an organization dedicated to improving coordination among four-year and two-year engineering programs and course articulation agreements that enable students to transfer course credits from community college to their four-year university
as well as all University of California and California State University engineering programs are welcome to participate at ELC meetings and in the program
Several key initiatives will also be funded by this grant
including the development of statewide bridge programs and a comprehensive internship program
These efforts are designed to improve credit transferability
provide practical work experience and enhance coordination among educational institutions and industry partners
“Industry involvement is pivotal to the success of the project,” Wesel said
“We plan to build a consortium of industry partners to offer internships and other opportunities for students
creating a sustainable model that benefits both students and employers.”

Patricia Jane Wallington Wesel Veber Snyderwine: “Pepper.” A lot of names for a lot of woman
Pepper returned to the home world Tuesday February 21
She arrived through the portal at Lenox Hill Hospital New York City on November 20
of which there was only one: There are no rules
A truly unique woman who never hesitated to speak her mind
Pepper was forged in such fires as the Red Scare
She ardently championed the causes she believed in
She shared her passionate beliefs through written word as a published author
playing the piano and guitar with verve and intensity
She had blackbelts in shopping and haggling
She enjoyed culinary exploration and invented new and innovative recipes all the time
Having been raised in a large family and babysitting her siblings
she was ready to raise a large family of her own when she met her first husband Warren Willis “Bill” Veber
They brought up their four daughters to revere knowledge and education
Bill took turns patrolling the seas to keep the peace and helping cultivate the kids’ minds
Pepper had great affection for Bill all of her days; she was preceded in death by him in 2021
Pepper was also preceded in death by her loving mother Isabel Patricia Paterson Wesel in 2019 and father Peter Edward Wesel Sr
She is survived by her cherished second husband of 36 years Paul Snyderwine
who is planet Earth’s most perfect match to her wit and wicked sense of humor
She will also be missed and remembered by her four beloved daughters Olive Beckette Veber
and the Artist Formerly Known As “H”; as well as her treasured siblings Peter E
The powers of brilliance and goofiness collided in her beautiful
and its magnificent energy could never be contained
She was a free spirit trapped in corporeal form
able to fly and soar and roam the universe
As hard as it is that she is gone from here now
we look forward to hearing her marvelous tales of cosmic adventures when she swings back through our galaxy for the reunion at our ranch on the moon
Funeral services will be held Saturday March 18 at 2 pm in the J
The family will receive friends from 6 - 8 pm Friday March 17 at J

and feel like we have been there together,” says Beijing-based multi-disciplinary artist and producer Howie Lee
“There” is the Buddhist Monastery in northeastern Tibet where Lee spent two weeks recording his new album, and he doesn’t mean his words in a “close your eyes and let yourself be transported to Tibet” kind of way. He means that the music will take you there—literally. According to Tibetan Vajrayana Buddhism
are illusory; the mind is not separate from the external world
having the idea creates the reality,” says Lee
Before he began working on his latest album, At The Drolma Wesel-Ling Monastery
Lee considered himself a “Buddhism outsider.” He understood it in principle
“The extraordinary thing is that I thought I understood how it worked,” he says
“But it has a very different meaning as you follow the path
I feel like after these one or two years of practicing
I have a much better understanding of the world
recontextualizing a slice of nostalgia that was so specific to its time
Lee started driving West with little to no plan
He and Zafka set off for a weeklong drive to the Drolma Wesel-Ling Monastery
which sits amidst a vast green expanse at 4400m of altitude
The monastery was established in 1988 by Tuga Rinpoche, a respected local doctor hailing from a prominent family lineage of “Rinpoche.” (The name translates as “precious master,” indicating a living or reincarnated Buddha.) The monastery teaches meditation and monastic studies to 300 nuns and around 100 monks in the Nyingma tradition of Tibetan Buddhism
which is the oldest of the four main schools
built a recording studio in the nun’s section of the monastery to facilitate training in chanting
Lee had access to an extensive sample library
but he also spent time recording and jamming
“I was with the monks and nuns during their group chanting classes
and I played my music with them,” Lee says
and you could tell they were kind of running with the music
Jamming was the most interesting thing to me.”
“Mantra of Guru Rinpoche 莲师心咒,” a tribute to the tantric master from medieval India who first brought Buddhism to Tibet in the 8th or 9th century
opens the album with an ominous siren call and the resonant thud of a Chinese bass drum
the expectant atmosphere is soon flooded with knife-edged synths and Lee’s jagged
which are perfectly matched by the monk’s deep
they create a vibration—that’s why in Tibet they call it a Lion’s Roar,” says Lee
referring to the abdominal resonance of the voices in unison during the daily collective chanting
“Some Mongolian musicians use a similar technique
On “Mantra Of Buddha Akshobhya 不动佛心咒,” based on a mantra that’s meant to clear negative karma
a nun’s steadily flowing vocal powers through a rich canopy of organic percussion and a base of intricate
Lee works more rapid drum patterns into “The Seven Line Prayer To Guru Rinpoche 莲师七句祈请文,” this time under an unforgiving barrage of harsh
He uses a host of traditional instruments throughout
on “Mantra of Vajra Armour 防瘟疫咒,” one of the most transportive tracks on the album; or the digitized northern Indian harmonium on “Hundred – Syllable Mantra Of Vajrasattva 百字明,” weaving them into global dance genres such as Brazilian funk or the dubstep and UK garage on the dreamy “Mantra Of Buddha Amitayus长寿佛心咒.”
But the heart and soul of the album are the ancient mantras
repeated day in day out by the monks and nuns of Drolma Wesel-Ling Monastery
because they were originally from India and it’s a language we don’t know
But each one of the mantras has a specific functionality.” The “Mantra of Vajra Armour 防瘟疫咒” is said to treat diseases and ward off negative energies
and was often sung by the inhabitants of the monastery during the pandemic; “Om Mani Padme Hum六字真言” is one of the most widely recognized mantras in Tibetan and Chinese Buddhism and is primarily used for cultivating compassion
that they are a connection between us and all other creatures
or even between us and other things that we don’t consider to be alive
mantras are composed of specific syllables which are believed to have profound spiritual significance
By resonating through the body and the environment
these chants are believed to reflect and simultaneously reinforce the interconnectedness of all beings
“It’s sheet music written by people who knew that in the future people would still be singing them
so you don’t need to understand the language to understand it
I found it so interesting—way more interesting than the music I produce.”
The record is set in an imagined future where
in the aftermath of an economic collapse and prolonged environmental deterioration
the Earth’s ecosystems have been profoundly damaged
“Birdy Island”—partially inspired by an imaginary version of Sicily that Lee dreamed up after listening to its folk songs—is a floating theme park built by a Chinese investment company in an effort to rebuild the relationship between humans and nature and
according to the concept that drives the album
Lee has been asked to compose the park’s soundtrack
With its ambient soundscapes and mostly acoustic instrumentation
both subtly filtered through Lee’s electronic production
Birdy Island seemed to signal a new era for the artist
“I was just interested in doing this quieter music
electronic music that sounded acoustic,” he remembers
it was the pandemic that led him back to the club: “There was a lot of demand [when lockdown lifted] and it was also very fun,” Lee recalls
“You could throw a party and without promoting it and 1000 people would come
because no one knew what would happen in the future
And for the first time the different scenes—electronic
Because of this experience working in the DJ booth during the pandemic
I somehow decided to make a more dancefloor accessible album [with At The Drolma Wesel-Ling Monastery].”
Lee’s approach to both listening and music making has been guided by a profound curiosity about the world around him
Each album feels almost like a by-product of his inquiries and exploration into one topic or the other
which he then passes along for the world to enjoy and reflect upon
“[Once an album is released] my part has finished so I go away
and usually when it comes out I’m already working on something new.”
he is working on an album that explores the use of AI
using prompts and changing his voice in different ways
While the rest of the world is worrying about the impact AI is going to have in the future
Lee is leaning into it and exploring all of its possibilities: “I just think I have to adapt to the environment I have now,” he says
“I just play with it because I predict a very interesting future with AI.” It is just one more world for Howie Lee to discover

Amazon will occupy a 1 million-square-foot warehouse building going up off Wesel Boulevard
state-of-the-art fulfillment center in the Hagerstown Logistics Center
Construction of the building is underway and Amazon expects to launch the new operation in 2021
according to a Tuesday email from Courtney Johnson Norman of Amazon
according to a news release from public-relations company TBC
Employees at the fulfillment center will work alongside "innovative technologies to pick
pack and ship larger customer items such as mattresses
grills and exercise equipment," according to the release
Amazon will also hire positions in human resources
who found out about Amazon's commitment last week
said Tuesday that there is no doubt in his mind that delivery operations such as Amazon are the future of retail
He said he was excited about the NorthPoint Development in general and the potential 1,500 decent- and well-paying jobs the project is expected to bring
but having Amazon be the first one in this development is also equally as huge
We're looking forward to it," Bruchey said
"We've had this property that's been sitting around here for half a century doing nothing
and now it's bringing this huge benefit to our community."
Missouri-based NorthPoint plans to build a total of 2.2 million square feet of warehouse and distribution space that will be divided among four buildings
Officials estimate the development will create 1,500 jobs and cost around $139 million
including up to $6 million in road improvements on Wesel Boulevard to accommodate an influx of traffic
Bruchey thanked Amazon on behalf of the citizens of Hagerstown for the investment it is making into the city
“To be able to welcome a globally respected company that is going to impact our community by providing tremendous economic benefits and employment opportunities is incredibly exciting," he said in the release
Amazon already operates out of two facilities in Washington County
The company has occupied part of the Trammell Crow distribution center property on Crayton Boulevard north of Hagerstown since spring
The company also leases a small facility on Industrial Lane off Governor Lane Boulevard near Williamsport
Johnson Norman said in a Tuesday email that the new building is in addition to the other Amazon facilities across the region and the state
adding to the current 17,500 full- and part-time employees already working in Maryland
CVS will close one of its Hagerstown pharmacies next month and transfer prescriptions to another one of its stores
The move is part of a plan by the company "to ensure it has the right kinds of stores in the right locations for consumers and for the business."
Time for another shot?: Updated COVID vaccine boosters available and recommended by CDC, health department says
"We’ve made the difficult decision to close our pharmacy at 1580 Wesel Boulevard in Hagerstown on October 12," Amy Thibault
lead director of external communications for CVS
"All prescriptions will be transferred to the nearby CVS Pharmacy at 10 East Wilson Boulevard
to ensure that patients continue to have uninterrupted access to pharmacy care
All store employees are being offered comparable roles within the company," she wrote
the company announced several steps "to support its strategy of making health care more affordable
accessible and convenient for consumers." The actions included naming a new chief pharmacy officer
announcing new store formats and cutting hundreds of locations
"The company has been evaluating changes in population
consumer buying patterns and future health needs to ensure it has the right kinds of stores in the right locations for consumers and for the business," the company said in a November news release
CVS Health will reduce store density in certain locations and close approximately 300 stores a year for the next three years
The company is committed to offering impacted colleagues roles in other locations or different opportunities as part of its overall workforce strategy."
Maintaining a community's access to pharmacy services is one of the factors the company considers in store closures
"Other factors include local market dynamics
and ensuring there are other geographic access points to meet the needs of the community
including COVID-19 testing and vaccinations," she wrote
the company will have six locations in the Hagerstown area
including one MinuteClinic and CVS HealthHUB location
which offers expanded health and wellness products and services
The company also offers prescription home delivery services to eligible patients through CVS.com and its CVS Pharmacy app
What's up with home sales lately?:Buyers and sellers are 'trying to figure out how to move' as the market cools
A move for runway safety: County to buy 2.9 acres at airport for projected $1.6M; 95% to come from feds, state
CVS also has stores in the Chambersburg
Thibault wrote that there "are no immediate closings planned" in or around Chambersburg
CVS Health also announced that it will create new store formats "to drive higher engagement with consumers." The move includes three models:

A Panda Express is planned at a busy shopping center intersection off Wesel Boulevard
one where Chick-fil-A has again made improvements to address backed up lines at its drive-thru
The Panda Express is planned for part of a parking lot across a Valley Park Commons entryway from the Chick-fil-A on Wesel Boulevard
The Panda Express is expected to open by summer 2025
according to a publicity representative for Panda Restaurant Group
The Chick-fil-A off Wesel has been closed since April 1 to make improvements
according to a sign outside the restaurant
Those improvements include having two drive-thru lanes wrap around the building to include receiving orders and not just placing orders
The hope is that will cut down on the "stacking that pushes traffic back" into the shopping center's "ring road," Bender said
No one hurt from debris: Former Hagerstown hardware store to be condemned after part of facade falls in street
from customers on the restaurant property and trying to get to the restaurant
is known to cause a backup on the entrance road to Valley Park Commons that will be between Chick-fil-A and the future Panda Express
Bender said the traffic issue is a phenomenon nationwide and is known among traffic engineers as "the Chick-fil-A effect."
we have become much more aware of potential issues
especially with drive-thru fast food restaurants," Bender said
When plans come in for such a business now
the drive-thru traffic path and the potential issues it could cause is one of the first things city officials review
A representative for the company that owns and operates the Chick-fil-A franchise on Wesel Boulevard could not be reached for comment
Work outside the Wesel Boulevard location has been progressing steadily and appears near completion
Improvements inside the restaurant include a larger dining room and new floors
according to the Facebook page for the Chick-fil-A on Wesel Boulevard
An April 12 post on the page states the restaurant is expected to reopen in mid-May
The restaurant underwent an earlier renovation in 2016
Bender said officials will have to wait and see if Panda Express traffic compounds the traffic problem
Murder suspect apprehended in Pa.: Hagerstown man, suspect in murder, apprehended in Harrisburg, Pa.
There's not as much traffic coming from the Panda Express side of the intersection with the shopping center entrance and the center's internal ring road
There might be times when traffic is backed up waiting to exit the Panda Express
The Panda Express will have two drive-thru lanes for ordering that will merge into one lane for food pickup
The approved site plan for the Panda Express shows two entrance and exit driveways on the Sam's Club side of the Panda Express lot and one on the southwest side — the opposite side from the shopping center entrance
‘We wanted to be the first in the Lower Rhine region to go to market with a robotic system as we believe that this type of digital surgical assistance represents the future,’ explains Rainer Rabsahl
‘We have been a very innovative healthcare institution ever since our foundation,’ says Rabsahl
The EVK Wesel was one of the first hospitals in the Lower Rhine region to set up an Oncology Department
a Stroke Centre and a Nephrology Department
The EVK Wesel is also amongst the pioneers in hip and knee endoprosthetics
‘For a hospital of our size and especially in a rural region
we have always had a good feel for which innovations are likely to become established,’ explains the CEO
The Senhance Surgical Robotic System for minimally invasive procedures in general and visceral surgery was introduced in Wesel at the beginning of August
who sits next to the patient in a comfortable position at an open console during the operation
high resolution images enlarged up to six times
The camera is controlled with the surgeon’s eye movements
the instruments inside the patient’s abdomen are controlled via the hands
An integrated tremor filter eliminates the slight jitters experienced by everyone
This facilitates working with a level of precision not otherwise possible with human hands
It is this precision which has already attracted a lot of attention and is very sought after
‘We have patients who come to us and explicitly state that they want this device to be used for their surgery,’ reports Rabsahl
or scepticism towards robotically assisted surgery.’ 40 operations were carried out between August and October
I must emphasise that we will not operate on patients who do not require surgery
We do not carry out more operations just because we have a new system
The patient obviously always comes first.’
The advantages for the patient are obvious though: Surgery is less invasive due to smaller incisions and therefore smaller scars
The system in Wesel is used for hernia operations
Cancer patients benefit particularly from the new technology
It is planned to extend the use of the system to gynaecological interventions as well
as stipulated in the training plan for surgeons,’ explains Rabsahl
‘Training with the new robot takes a certain amount of time
and at the moment each intervention is supervised by an external doctor experienced in using the robotic system
We can also draw on constant support from a Transenterix technician
Rabsahl reports that his staff are proud to work in a hospital which can afford such modern equipment
‘This investment was certainly a financial challenge for our hospital
but we look at this as a means of safeguarding the future.’ The hospital specifically aims to attract the attention of young doctors in this way and hopes that the robotics system will provide a competitive advantage which will also have an impact on economic viability in the long run.
The EVK Wesel is not only a reference centre but also an observation and practice centre: interested surgeons and students can gain an insight into surgical procedures of the new generation – and may become motivated to return as employees at a later stage
Rainer Rabsahl is CEO of EVK Wesel GmbH since 2004
The qualified business economist is also responsible for several health centres and care facilities that are predominantly located on the large campus area
Miniature robots often lack the strength to transport instruments for endoscopic microsurgery
Scientists have pursued this idea to perform a surgical procedure
wireless minimally invasive surgery systems
Decreased rates of death and stroke: new research shows the validity of transcatheter aortic valve replacement in low-risk patients
This advocates a less invasive alternative to surgical options

The project also includes a$6 million roadway reconstruction project
which is being accomplished through a public-private partnership with funding from NorthPoint Development at $1.8 million
Washington County at up to $2.7 million and the City of Hagerstown at up to $1.5 million
The first section from Burhans Boulevard to the area around the Wesel Storage Center and Noland Co
Work on the second section betweenNoland Co.,1350 Wesel Blvd.; and the Hagerstown city limits just west of Chick-Fil-A at 1680 Wesel Blvd.
began Monday and is expected to be completed this summer
An Amazon warehouse along Wesel Boulevard was evacuated Saturday after an emergency responder's carbon monoxide alarm activated
Hagerstown Fire Chief Steve Lohr said Monday that no one was taken to the hospital from the incident
but over 100 employees were evacuated and sheltered at businesses across the street for several hours
The incident left Hagerstown Fire officials with homework to do regarding nickel cadmium batteries like the one discovered Saturday on a lift vehicle in the warehouse
Hydrogen sulfide is a byproduct of venting
Amazon officials helped emergency responders move the lift out of the warehouse to the parking lot
“The health and safety of our team is our top priority
and we’re thankful for the support of the local fire department," Amazon spokesperson Sam Stephenson wrote in an email Monday afternoon
we evacuated our building after sensors indicated possible carbon monoxide in the area
The fire department declared the site safe to resume operations and we'll continue to work with them as they investigate."
What we know about the incident at the Amazon warehouse in HagerstownVolunteer Fire Co
of Halfway EMS personnel arrived at the warehouse Saturday morning for a report of an injured person
the carbon monoxide alarms on their bags alerted them to elevated levels of carbon monoxide
Hagerstown Fire officials used more sophisticated sensors
which also activated as they walked throughout the building
The readings were highest around the lift vehicle that was removed from the warehouse
An EMS task force evaluated several employees as a result of the incident
No one was found to have carbon monoxide poisoning and no one was transported to the hospital from the out gassing incident
Evacuated employees were sheltered across the street
at Labers Furniture and Red Barron Flooring
Amazon and fire officials eventually decided to let the day shift go home and let the next shift report to duty near the end of Saturday afternoon
Emergency responders cleared the scene around 6 p.m
including a large trailer-mounted fan from the National Institute of Standards and Technology in Gaithersburg
were used to ventilate the 1-million-square-foot warehouse at 1115 Wesel Blvd.
Firefighters checked other areas to "make sure we didn't miss something" and monitored the air again
The next shift was allowed in when it was determined there wasn't a hazardous condition
Lohr said Amazon officials did a "stellar job" on Saturday
and there was good cooperation with the corporate office
Lohr said there's no question the lift battery was off-gassing
But fire officials don't know if there truly were elevated carbon monoxide levels in the building or any other hazardous condition
Fire officials believe the off-gassing led to false carbon monoxide readings on the initial sensor as well as the more sophisticated sensors
There's also a normal release of hydrogen gas with the charging circuits
"Our homework this week is to search the industry and determine if there are better sensors" to eliminate cross contamination of different gasses like hydrogen
carbon monoxide and hydrogen sulfide so emergency responders can better detect what issue they are facing
There are many warehouses in the area and others are probably using similar equipment
scooters and bicycles as well as cellphones and other devices with nickel cadmium batteries
one the fire department hasn't previously experienced
officials also will search industry best practices to see what other fire departments around the world are doing to address issues with nickel cadmium battery out-gassing
The fire company was aware Amazon had vehicles with nickel cadmium batteries
The company also has a hydrogen tank outside and a fueling station for the batteries inside
Related:As Moore administration races ahead with clean cars, state far behind goal
All of those things passed code inspections
Amazon didn't do anything illegal or inappropriate
Lohr said he's not sure Hagerstown Fire officials were fully aware of the relationship between hydrogen and the batteries
I just assumed — and shame on me and everybody else
I guess — that the lift trucks were powered by hydrogen exclusively," Lohr said
Lohr said he was not aware of the set of electric batteries powering the vehicles and the hydrogen source of energy for that charge
reiterating that everything at the warehouse was found to be in compliance
there are times throughout the history of codes — that are traditionally revised every three years — where technology outpaces code compliance," Lohr said
Hagerstown fire officials will educate themselves
looking into industry standards and working with Amazon to determine what steps are needed in case of a future incident
It might be that there is a cover to remove and something disconnected within a lift truck
The New York City Fire Department has been dealing with battery-operated scooters and bicycles that people charge near their apartment doors
Lohr cautioned people with such batteries in objects at home to keep those objects well-ventilated and in plain sight
Don't keep objects like a cellphone stuffed in a chair cushion beside you or have them covered by a blanket or pillow
This is particularly important when they are being charged
Anything that would accelerate a battery when it is overheating could result in fire
It's also important to make sure the appropriate-sized charger
Lohr said Hagerstown Fire had a hard time knocking down an electric-vehicle fire over a year ago at U.S

German deep-freeze logistics company Nordfrost is set to almost double the size of its site to nine hectares at the Rhine-Lippe Port in Wesel,North Rhine-Westphalia
The company from Schortens near Wilhelmshaven is becoming an important partner of the “Cool Corridor” for the climate-friendly transport of temperature-controlled goods between Rotterdam and Wesel on the Rhine
Nordfrost is investing a total of €46 million in the expansion
with work already underway to upgrade the quay
A new crane runway is being laid to operate a container bridge for ship handling
loading halls and new warehouses are being built for goods in the plus-grade temperature range and general cargo
there is the option to expand the Nordfrost site at Wesel to a total of around 16 hectares
The logistics specialist will start handling container ships and operating a full-service container depot from spring 2021
The logistics centre is scheduled to begin operations at the beginning of 2023
'We are delighted that Nordfrost has taken the next step with us towards a modern
intercontinental import and export hub,' said Andreas Stolte
managing director of DeltaPort Niederrheinhäfen
Nordfrost chief executives Dr Falk Bartels and Britta Bartels added: 'Our goal in Wesel is to offer logistics for all goods – including project loading – and at the same time to build this port location as a further food hub
comparable to our development in the Wilhelmshaven container port.”
The investment is aimed at offering the German food industry solutions for handling the growing trade volume with third countries
the handling of frozen and fresh products in Rotterdam – which is connected to the Rhine-Lippe Port in Wesel – has increased by around 18 percent in the past three years
temperature-controlled containers that land in Rotterdam by seagoing ship are usually unloaded in Dutch refrigeration centres
The goods are then brought to their inland destinations by road in refrigerated lorries
which is being established between DeltaPort Niederrheinhäfen – which comprises the ports of Rheinberg-Orsoy
Wesel and Emmerich – and the Port of Rotterdam
'Our goal is to optimise this usual supply chain from an environmental point of view and to redesign the flow of goods from a sustainability perspective,' said Stolte
refrigerated containers will be transported inland via waterways or rail in order to relieve congestion on the motorways

We've already seen spy shots of what is likely to be the 2018 Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 in coupe form
Now come shots of a future ZR1 Convertible
Photographer David Wesel captured both the coupe and the convertible testing in Marrrieta, Ohio, and the those photos are posted on CorvetteBlogger
the convertible features a prominent rear wing
but this one is shorter than the one we've seen in previous coupe spy shots
The convertible also has the Ferrari [NYSE:RACE]-style pentagram wheels we've seen before
the car was spotted with six other Corvettes
as well as a Jaguar F-Type and a Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat
Corvette product manager Harlan Charles was reportedly with the group and driving a Corvette Grand Sport at the time

CHECK OUT: Hennessey promises 600-plus-hp F-150 Raptor 6x6 for $317
It's not really a surprise that Chevrolet would release a convertible ZR1. High performance cars like this used to be limited to coupes. For instance, the C6 ZR1 was only offered as a coupe
Chevrolet is offering the current Grand Sport and Z06 as convertibles and those are rather accomplished track cars
The last ZR1 arrived for the 2009 model year
With a supercharged 6.2-liter V-8 making 638 horsepower and 604 pound-feet of torque under the hood
Those figures are already exceeded by the C7 Z06
so expect the next ZR1 to maybe top 700 horses
General Motors Company [NYSE:GM] is known to be working on a new LT5 V-8
though this will likely be reserved for the C8
look for an uprated version of the C7 Z06’s LT4 V-8
We expect the C7 ZR1 to be unveiled at next January’s 2017 Detroit auto show and pricing to exceed $100,000. These may be the last of the high-performance front-engine Corvettes
