How to beat the game's final Legacy Dungeon Crumbling Farum Azula is a location in Elden Ring in the far east of the game's world and also a Legacy Dungeon Farum Azula can even be considered a separate area of The Lands Between it is a late-game location that is not suitable for low-level characters read on below to find our Crumbling Farum Azula walkthrough which tells you how to get to Crumbling Farum Azula and where to find all the important items inside it There are several ways to reach and enter the Crumbling Farum Azula: After you have answered Melina's question in the Forge with "Yes" you will awaken in the Crumbling Farum Azula We find 1x Smithing Stone (8) on the first corpse while we have to drop down on the right side Follow the path and it won't be long before you encounter the first beastmen One of the first mini-bosses in the game, here they're just a normal opponent: the Beastmen of Farum Azula most of them are busy eating and have their backs turned letting you backstab them all for an advantage Follow the passage to the south-west and you can sneak past more enemies The corpse on the right has 1x Lightningproof Dried Liver to claim from it The corridor on the left leads you to the first Site of Grace 'Crumbling Beast Grave' you can finally use fast travel if you came here prematurely after the Forge of the Giants Follow the path leading out to the west and the first Farum Azula dragon in this area will land on the long area in front of you You will come to the first corpse with 1x Smithing Stone (6) before he appears The dragon's appearance is strikingly reminiscent of Lansseax but you can skip it if you don't fancy a fight Just run on behind him and grab 1x Smithing Stone (8) and 1x Dragonwound Grease on the way you will discover an entrance with the next Site of Grace 'Crumbling Beast Grave Depths' Just opposite is a corpse with 1x Smithing Stone (8) Cross the north-west room where two beastmen are active They are guarding some stretchers with skeletons on them First jump onto the roof and loot the room on the right Then go outside to the left and jump onto the roof This will take you to a room with five beastmen guarding several items: 3x Gravel Stone 1x Smithing Stone (6) and at the very back 1x Great Grave Glovewort You can drop down in the centre and reach the same room that you would have reached without the passage across the roof including a mage with lightning attacks that makes it difficult to explore without fighting them directly the Ancient Dragon Prayerbook and a corpse with 1x Golden Rune (12) on the ledge behind the north-west exit We first continue along the lower path and thus get to the lift It takes us to the lower levels of Farum Azula Follow the path on the left to some Lesser Wormfaces and take them out Then follow the path as far left as possible to a corpse with 4x Fulgurbloom If you follow the path up here straight ahead They guard 1x Smithing Stone (8) and 1x Rejuvenating Bolus as well as a pavilion with the Glovewort Picker's Bell Bearing (3) you can follow the path eastwards to a Wormface standing in the corner guarding a few units of Gravel Stone You will see a ladder which you follow upwards (take out the Wormface first otherwise it will annoy you with its cloud of death pestilence) stab the enemy in the back and take 1x Smithing Stone (8) from the corpse Now head back down the ladder and past the Wormfaces (there is 1x Somber Smithing Stone (9) on the tree) you can drop down at this point and jump over the rock platforms: You will find 1x Smithing Stone (8) on the large area but the next dragon in this section will appear before you collect it Then go back to the Site of Grace 'Tempest-Facing Balcony' where the exploration of Farum Azula goes into the next round you will see a dragon if you look to the north-west You will encounter the first skeletal Azula Beastmen in the area which have a similar behaviour to the normal skeletons This also means you have to destroy their remains We find 1x Somber Smithing Stone (7) and 1x Golden Rune (9) in the area collect 14x Golden Arrow and you will land on another ruined area which will take more hits to topple (and they can spit fire) There is a Somber Smithing Stone (9) and 3x Gravel Stone We'll get to the Site of Grace in the east in a moment Drop into the hole and collect 1x Golden Rune (10) from the corpse in front of the chasm in the south-west turn left at the first opportunity (there is 1x Golden Rune (12) behind the second staircase) kill the skeletons and you can jump onto a pillar above the chasm on the left It will take you to a ladder and ultimately to the annoying archer You can push the archer off the ledge with some well-timed attacks and you'll find 1x Great Grave Glovewort at the end of the corridor on the left (be careful as beastmen will spawn behind you and use the moment of surprise for a nasty attack) Then drop down into the familiar area of the ruins we reach the next Site of Grace 'Dragon Temple' We have fought hard for this little respite jump over the rubble on the left and collect 1x Golden Rune (11) at the end of the path The path on the right leads to a corpse by the chasm with 1x Smithing Stone (6) Kill the exiled knight on the stairs and follow them deeper into the temple run to the right and turn left into the corridor before the stairs After another sword-and-shield knight, you will come to an enemy who is defending a Stonesword Key Follow the steps to the left and stab the knight in the corridor in the back collect 2x Dragonwound Grease and drop safely onto the steps Bernahl can be summoned - and the help is sorely needed for this section You can enter the main hall of the Dragon Temple next door You would also have reached this point if you had marched down the spiral staircase on the right after the last Site of Grace On this path you will also find a summon sign for Knight Bernahl The Godskin Duo is - you guessed it - a pair of mandatory main bosses you need to beat to progress the story but luckily you can summon Spirit Ashes for help here We've got a dedicated walkthrough on how to beat the Godskin Duo if you're in need of some boss tips and strategies for taking him out the Godskin Duo will reward you with 170,000 runes activate the Site of Grace 'Dragon Temple Altar' and take the north-east exit This next section involves a fair bit of exploration and we'll also cover the entirely optional area you can explore here that sits behind a Stonesword Key door you can either drop down or take the steps on the right to get to your next destination Kill the two beastmen and follow the steps down to the west collect 1x Golden Rune (11) and jump to the area south-west below you There are two more dogs and another beastman here the latter of whom will attack you from behind with his throwing blades you will find another corpse with 1x Hero's Rune (5) accessible via the narrow ledge on the outside Defeat yet another beastman behind the dragon altar and ignore the passage on the right for now Go straight ahead and take 1x Smithing Stone (7) behind the fallen pillar you will encounter two more beastmen (one sleeping) next to which you can pick up 5x Lightning Grease Now go back and head south-east up the stairs to get to this spot: The path forks here. If you follow the pillar hanging diagonally over the abyss, you will find 1x Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone - a very rare and necessary for upgrading weapons to the maximum level +25 down the pillar and straight ahead at the fork in the road in a northerly direction Eliminate the beastman and return to the fork in the road You can push a beastman off the ledge on the right. Soon enough, you'll come to a sealed door on the left that requires 2 Stonesword Keys to open giving you access to a new Site of Grace 'Dragon Temple Lift' and an entirely new optional area to explore with lots of valuable items to loot If you don't have the right number of Stonesword Keys, though, fret not. Jump to the Dragon Temple Rooftop section of this walkthrough you can take aim at some skeletons on the left by the well These four enemies stand close together and are extremely dangerous in a group a few weathered steps lead to a tree with 2x Nascent Butterfly The skeletons hanging from the tree will drop down if you are close enough which makes the spot a little trickier than it might seem at first Use ranged attacks to shoot the hanging skeletons collect 1x Smithing Stone (7) from the corpse to the north and 1x Golden Rune (12) next to the tree Continue south-west and up the stairs on the left a skeleton guards a corpse with 1x Smithing Stone (8) Head west and you will find 1x Rune Arc and 1x Golden Seed Head southwest down the small slope by the pillars and you'll find a scarab - defeating it will earn you the Incantation 'Golden Lightning Fortification' Turn around and you will see a sleeping dragon which you can sneak up on to bag 1x Smithing Stone (8) Then go back to the place where you found the Golden Seed and continue westwards where you can jump over some stone structures Continue south-west to reach the sleeping dragon that you could already see from the Site of Grace 'Tempest-Facing Balcony' Under his wing (you can sneak there if you're careful!) lies a corpse with 1x Golden Rune (12) Follow the neighbouring ruins further southwest and you will find 1x Smithing Stone (7) Follow the fallen pillars next to it until you reach a pavilion in which you will find the Ancient Dragon Apostle's Cookbook (4) Two beastmen are lurking here waiting for their chance to stab you in the back you'll also find a corpse hanging over the abyss with 1x Somber Smithing Stone (8) on it Drop down and collect another 1x Smithing Stone (8) Underneath is the familiar area at the Site of Grace 'Dragon Temple' Starting at the Site of Grace 'Dragon Temple Lift' take the lift back down and head east down the spiral staircase Turn left and go through the archway on the left Drop over the floating debris and you'll find a corpse with 1x Golden Rune (12) and the Dragoncrest Shield Talisman +2 on a free-floating section of stairs at the southern end The path divides in the north-east building: take the stairs on the right and take out the beastman there The floating debris behind it will take you back to the familiar area Drop down at the ledge and now continue straight, following the path to the Crucible Knight. You've fought this enemy before in both Limgrave and the Siofra Aqueduct so use the same tactics as you did before and you should be on you way to victory in no time the Crucible Knight will not return once you've defeated him and rested at a Site of Grace Once the Crucible Knight has been dealt with you can either jump eastwards over the railing to the next Site of Grace 'Dragon Temple Rooftop' or head north-eastwards onto the floating rock where you can pick up 1x Smithing Stone (8) you will encounter a harmless-looking eagle another bird of prey will swoop out of the tower on the left to peck you in the back Take 1x Smithing Stone (6) with you and continue southwards You can already see a dragon raging from afar with lightning strikes that cannot harm you up here This changes as soon as you climb down the ladder Turn left at the foot of the ladder and you can drop down to the lower level of the tower with the falcon take the Drake Knight Armor set from the chest (consisting of helm gauntlets and greaves) and take the lift back up Kill the beastman at the vantage point on the bridge take 5x Lightning Greatbolts and drop back down to the Site of Grace as it's now time to face that raging dragon you saw earlier watch the floor to see where they'll appear The path to the dragon is made more difficult by other birds The dragon itself is badly weakened and has only a fraction of its life bar left Stay between its legs and hack at its feet to finish it off as you'll be rewarded with 32,400 runes and an Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone for your trouble Among the corpses we find 1x Golden Rune (12) and 8x Fulgurbloom and in the small pavilion above 1x Somber Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone which is even rarer than the regular Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone you can make a few more detours before continuing south-westwards: then onto the area on the left and you will find a Golden Seed and 1x Smithing Stone (7) you can drop down the cliffs several times and reach a building where an exiled knight will meet you on the stairs Behind it we reach an eagle next to a corpse with 1x Golden Rune (12) The ladder next to it takes us to more knights we find a treasure chest with the Dragon Towershield We can use a lift in the building next to it follow the path north-westwards into a room where a Crucible Knight is fighting a beastman It will remain in the chamber and you can simply sneak to the ladder if you don't want to fight it Collect it and drop into the familiar area Now take the path behind the deceased lightning dragon which continues through the level towards the south-west you will find a corpse with 1x Somber Smithing Stone (7) on the cliffs to the right Continue across the pavilion spanning the abyss to the north-west where an enemy with its throwing blades makes it difficult to cross There are three beastmen in the flooded building on the right Two of them use lightning attacks and can really get on your nerves A good way to approach them is to lure one of them to the door make sure to get the Somberstone Miner's Bell Bearing (5) before you leave follow the stairs to the right of the altar to a lift that will drop you off next to the Site of Grace 'Beside the Great Bridge' In this final section of the Crumbling Farum Azula we'll discover an essential item for the upcoming boss fight Starting at the Site of Grace 'At the Great Bridge' You will reach the Great Bridge of Farum Azula You are right in the centre of the bridge here which means you've got the choice of marching left to the north or right to the south The final boss is located in the colosseum at the end of the right-hand path leading upwards so to complete our exploration of the area Go through the building and keep to the right until you come out into the open again On the left you will find a corpse among the dead beastmen (be careful The corpse has 1x Somber Smithing Stone (8) to loot from it in front of which Recusant Bernahl appears as an intruder and we'd recommend luring him back towards where you came from There are still three beastmen lurking in the tower and you don't want to take on four enemies of this calibre at the same time He wields a massive warhammer - a Devourer's Sceptre - and strikes like he's possessed Bernahl has a large HP bar and will heal himself during the fight With his special attack (the red aura when he raises his hammer) he can steal your HP and pull you in with a jerk The three dormant beastmen will all wake up when you approach so take them out on the bridge and loot the treasure chest It will give you the Old Lord's Talisman which extends the effects of sorceries and incantations This completes our exploration of the area and now all we have to do is make our way to the boss Back at the Site of Grace 'Beside the Great Bridge' Then enter the bridge and head to the south The corpses on the way have 1x Golden Rune (12) and 1x Somber Smithing Stone (7) to loot. If you like, you can defeat the Draconic Tree Sentinel here You already know this type of enemy as a boss from the outskirts of the capital His behaviour hasn't changed (and neither has his annoying lightning attack The final battle begins behind the wall of fog leading us to the boss of this area: Maliketh IMPORTANT: defeating Maliketh will result in the destruction of Leyndell, Royal Capital spells and armor sets there - including the legendary weapon Bolt of Gransax make sure you've done everything you want to in Leyndell as they won't be available after this point the Black Blade is an extremely tough mandatory boss and a fitting conclusion to the Crumbling Farum Azula dungeon Maliketh's identity is hidden - for the first phase of the fight and it's only once his health bar hits 50% that his true name (and second phase) is revealed We've got a dedicated walkthrough on how to beat Maliketh, The Black Blade (including his Beast Clergyman phase) so make sure to give it a read if you're in need of more detailed boss tips and strategies to help take him down Maliketh will reward you with 220,000 runes and the Remembrance of the Black Blade Back to walkthrough: Elden Ring walkthrough © 2025 Eurogamer.net a brand of IGN Entertainment No part of this website or its content may be reproduced without the copyright owner's permission Eurogamer is a registered trademark of Gamer Network Limited the reigning Danish champions apparently had not learned their lesson as they went behind after just two minutes Peter Ankersen broke through on the right and squared the the ball into the box where Benjamin Nygren, who is likely to leave FC Nordsjaelland this summer controlled the ball and cooly slotted the ball past the reach of Jonas Lossl from a tight angle The home side were in total control during the opening 20 minutes and could easily have added to their lead but FC Midtjylland gradually worked themselves back into the tie and restored parity when Polish international Adam Buksa steered a powerful header into the net FC Nordsjaelland - FC MIdtjylland - Player ratingsFlashareFC Midtjylland began the second half in a more composed manner and were unfortunate to see Oliver Sorensen's stinging drive saved by the wood work shortly after the interval. Once you awake after the cutscene with Milena you will find yourself in Crumbling Farum Azula At the end of the path, you’ll find a body with a Smithing Stone [8] There isn’t a straight path to move forward so jump over the edge on the right side and jump your way to the entrance a little below find a Golden Rune [9] on the last platform Keep following the only available path through a short corridor and descending some stairs You eventually arrive in a room with five beastmen While most of them won’t pay attention to you so you don’t have to face all of them at the same time Beastmen are the most common enemy type in the region While there are some variations that cast magic or throw boomerang-like weapons at you most are capable of fast slashing sequences of attacks that can kill you pretty quickly so the best strategy is to approach them from behind and quickly kill them don’t forget to grab the Old Fang from a corpse Proceed to the next room where you find two beastmen and a Lightningproof Dried Liver on the right side of the room turn left to find the Crumbling Beast Grave Site of Grace in Farum Azula where you should rest a bit Go back to the corridor and down the stairs to arrive at an opening area facing the tornado Smithing Stone [8] and a Dragonwound Grease at the edge as soon as you get to the middle of the way This is a tough enemy that not only attacks you with massive limbs but with powerful magic Since defeating this enemy is not obligatory you can just run past it toward an entrance on the left side that leads you to a corpse with a Smithing Stone [8] and the Crumbling Beast Grave Depths Site of Grace in case you feel like you’re ready to face the dragon — and you’ll end up finding more than one in Farum Azula — here are some tips First, they are strong against elemental damage and considerably resistant against physical damage. Staying below the dragon is the most safe strategy since it helps you avoid most of its attacks. While focusing on the hind legs makes it easier to avoid frontal moves, the ancient dragon has other attacks that can still hit you. Luckily, you can summon your Spirit Ashes to help you Leave the room with the site of grace and move forward to the next room to find a Smithing Stone [7] Proceed after dealing with the enemies by entering the corridor that will take you to the lower floor or use the window on the left side to access the upper floor by climbing the roof Get on the ledge of the large window and follow it to climb the roof right beside it This room has two big openings on the floor that give access to the lower floor Although you want to go there after grabbing all the loot in this room beware of them so you don’t fall before you’re prepared get the Gravel Stone on the left side of the room a Smithing Stone [6] near to the edge of one of the openings and a Great Grave Glovewort at the farthest side of the room You can get to the lower floor using the short corridor in the room after the site of grace or via the second opening on the upper floor from where you can jump to a bridge with two beastmen We suggest starting from the initial room and following the corridor you’ll find some stairs that will take you to the lower part Going right and following the corridors will take you to that bridge you saw from the upper floor Going straight and descending the stairs will lead to 14x Lightning Greatbolts and get to the lower area The lower area is a large chamber with four beastmen While the former takes you to an arena where there’s a Smithing Stone [8] — and a fight with an Ancient Dragon — the latter leads you to an area filled with Lesser Wormfaces which kills you instantaneously if the bar is filled keep close to the wall to avoid the enemies you get to a small lake with three Lesser Wormfaces a Rejuvenating Boluses in the middle of it and a gazebo on the farthest side of the area Stick to the left side of the area so you can reach the gazebo without being noticed. There, you find a Glovewort Picker’s Bell Bearing [3] Keep going south to find a Lesser Wormfaces in front of a body with 5x Gravel Stones back at the Tempest-Facing Balcony Site of Grace grab the Somberstone Miner’s Bell Bearing [4] You will be walking over a sequence of floating structures to reach an entrance on the north side Jump to the lower area and keep going north This area is filled with skeletons which you can simply ignore – but if you’re fighting them don’t forget to hit them after they dismantle There is a Somber Smithing Stone [7] on a platform ahead of you and a Golden Rune [9] on the left side of this area Take the improvised bridge — where you find 14x Golden Arrows — made of debris to the next area go right and get into an opening on the floor Look back and you will find a Golden Rune [10] There are two corridors on the left for you to explore In case you just want to progress through this area as quickly as possible It’s a corridor that takes you to a balcony where you can sneak attack another skeleton and find a path on the left Following it will take you to another platform with a ladder and look northeast to find another corridor where there is a Great Grave Glovewort But grabbing the item triggers an ambush and three skeletons come from the ceiling You will get to a corridor where there’s a patrolling skeleton and 3x Gravel Stones at the end of it You can now leave the corridor and you will be back to the segment before jumping in the hole Take a Somber Smithing Stone [9] that is near the end of the corridor and make your way to the Dragon Temple Site of Grace right in front of you If you want to completely explore this lower part of the area Go back and jump from the stairs to the next area you can go left to find a Banished Knight and a Rune Arc first you go through a corridor where there is a patrolling Banished Knight Kill it and get to the next room where you will find two Banished Knights and the Azula Beastman Ashes If you leave the room using the door on the west side there is a Somber Smithing Stone [9] to grab you get to the Dragon Temple Transept Site of Grace there’s a Smithing Stone [6] and stairs that take you to a new section from where you start facing Banished Knights who can use skills similar to weapons arts and enter a corridor with another Banished Knight a second Banished Knight is standing still close to a body with a Stone Key prepare to face a third Banished Knight in a short dead-end corridor where you can grab 2x Dragonwound Grease With all the loot collected, you should go back and take the stairs in the corridor instead of turning left. At the bottom of the stairs, there is a patrolling Banished Knight and another one in a room to your left. You won’t find items there, so you can simply ignore them and enter the room of the first boss encounter in Crumbling Farum Azula, the Godskin Duo Defeating them will unlock the Dragon Temple Altar Site of Grace With the first boss encounter finished you can follow three different paths you’ll find the Dragon Temple Transept Site of Grace The northwest entrance takes you to a room with a Banished Knight and a body with a Golden Rune [12] you get to what seems to have been a room that now has no ceiling and only a part of the floor where you are at You can jump to the lower level or descend the stairs to your right Defeat them and go to the next room with a dog and a Golden Rune [11] you’re still walking around the remains of buildings and rooms There are two dogs and one beastman in this area instead turn left and follow the tight ledge to find a Hero’s Rune [5] If you take the stairs at the end of the corridor you will access the upper part of this building a pillar on the left side that helps you reach another platform with a beastmen and an Ancient Dragon Scale Smithing Stone; and by going straight ahead In case you have one of these items with you we advise using it to get to an elevator that takes you to the Dragon Temple Lift Site of Grace which gives you access to a whole new area that you may want to explore before moving on Leave the room where the grace is located and head east there are some skeletons and a Lord’s Rune on a fountain so hit them after they are defeated or they will resurrect go left around the building to find more skeletons You eventually arrive at the other side of the building Take the stairs to get to the upper part and go east to find a skeleton near to Smithing Stone [8] where you find a Golden Seed and a Rune Arc you go down to an arena with a sleeping Ancient Dragon Keep in mind that you don’t have to fight the dragon but they will leave if you get too far from the arena By going straight up ahead from where you got the Golden Seed you can walk over two structures to reach the other side Move on until you get to another sleeping Ancient Dragon This one is way too tired to fight you if not attacked Walk around it to find a Golden Rune [12] at their back and a walkway to the next platform Go toward the southeast to find a Smithing Stone [7] you need to use the walkway behind the large structure at the southwest of the platform you need to jump onto a bridge a little bit lower to move on there is an old building where you find the Ancient Dragon Apostle’s Cookbook [4] There’s a skeleton just waiting to ambush you on the right side of the building you can jump to grab a Somber Smithing Stone [8] from a body on the edge there is another platform with a Smithing Stone [8] we finish exploring the area from the lift Teleport back to the Dragon’s Temple Lift grace use the elevator and descend the stairs we took in the last section there is a sequence of debris that you must use to platform your way to the next building you can get pretty close to the edge to fall to a platform where you find the Dragoncrest Shield Talisman +2 right below it This is the most safe strategy since it’s difficult to land in the correct place by jumping Get back to the lower floor and head to the north path that takes you to an arena where you must face a Crucible Knight they only use their sword and shield to attack you they will start using a flying attack and breathe fire at you you will have a hard time trying to escape Whether you defeat it or are capable of running you want to jump on the platform on the north side of the arena — where you also find a Smithing Stone [8] — and make your way to the next site of grace You’re about to enter one of the last areas in Crumbling Farum Azula Leave the site of grace then go down the roofs on the left until you’re in front of a tower with two Warhawkes and a body with a Smithing Stone [6] it’s possible to see an Ancient Dragon on the south side of the area the dragon will start casting magic attacks at you Since exploring the area — which is filled with Warhawkes — is difficult while trying to avoid the dragon’s attacks the best strategy is to run straight to where they are and right up until the point marked on the map below they will fly away leaving the area a little bit less dangerous to you it’s time to properly explore and collect the loot there is a Somber Ancient Dragon Smithing Stone in a gazebo behind where the dragon was you find a Golden Rune [12] and a Fulgurbloom instead of going back using the bridge you came from and jump on the rooftop of a building to reach a higher area this area has a Golden Seed and a Smithing Stone [7] The next step is to go southwest to where we ran from the dragon and keep going right You need to fight a couple of beastmen as you go a little bit further When you arrive at a collapsed tower that serves as a walkway that you need to traverse to progress There is a beastmen on the other side throwing boomerangs at you which can easily make you fall start on the right side then move to the left Defeat the three beastmen inside and grab the Somberstone Miner’s Bell Bearing [5] you get to the stairs that will take you to an elevator and to the Beside the Great Bridge Site of Grace go back to the previous building in case you want to explore a new area and perform a quick time travel move on to the Besides the Great Bridge section of this guide you will get back to the entrance of the building and walk toward the south side until you get to the edge of the area you can fall to a platform below you and keep following the path go to the sand-like place without the skeleton present in the others and the option to “Lie Down” will pop up a cutscene will play and you will get to the arena of a secret boss You don’t have to defeat it to finish the game so it’s up to you whether you want to face this challenge or not head north and enter the building following the single available path The door takes you to an outside area with lots of bodies of beastmen on the ground there are some alive that are just sleeping A good way of spotting them is by pressing the targeting command go right and climb down the ladder to reach a new path that leads to a tower While inside you will find a chest with the Old Lord’s Talisman three beastmen will jump at you once you enter the tower and get the Somber Smithing Stone [8] on the ground you need to get closer to the edge on the east side and jump to the platform right below you where there is a beastmen and 5x Lightning Greatbolt you can activate the lever to call the lift Go to the bottom of the tower and go left to find a chest with the Drake Knight armor set teleport back to the Beside the Great Bridge grace Back to the bridge, on the south side of it, you find the boss arena where you need to face Maliketh, the Black Blade. On the way to the gate, you will find a Golden Rune [12] and a Somber Smithing Stone [7]. In front of the gate to the arena, there is a Draconic Tree Sentinel. While their move set is similar to the one you fought to enter Leyndell To complete Crumbling Farum Azula, you need only beat the final boss of the area, Maliketh, the Black Blade. After that, it’s time to pay a visit to Leyndell, Ashen Capital and see the game to its conclusion The best of Polygon in your inbox, every Friday. Here's how to reach Crumbling Farum Azula in Elden Ring Wondering how to reach Crumbling Farum Azula in Elden Ring? One of the remotest regions of The Lands Between in Elden Ring, Crumbling Farum Azula is an endgame region filled to the brim with high-level enemies and some of the hardest bosses in the game But as a floating island far to the east of the main continent you can't reach Farum Azula via any conventional means we'll reveal both methods of getting to Crumbling Farum Azula in Elden Ring which only allows you to visit a tiny limited section of the floating island To get to Crumbling Farum Azula, you need to defeat the Fire Giant in the Mountaintops Of The Giants The Fire Giant can be found in the southeast corner of the Mountaintops region which is accessible via a bridge over a ravine near the Chuch Of Repose Here's the exact location of the Fire Giant in Elden Ring: cross the bridge towards the Forge Of The Giants and rest at the Site Of Grace on the other side of the rim and tell her you are ready to burn the Erdtree Selecting this option will prompt a cutscene where Melina puts you to sleep then takes the Giants' Flame from the Forge Of The Giants You will then be automatically transported (possibly by Melina herself) straight to Crumbling Farum Azula There is another way to reach Crumbling Farum Azula earlier in the game, but you only get to see a very small part of the island. To reach this detached area, you must reach the Four Belfries in Liurnia and activate the lowest of the three portals using an Imbued Sword Key Here's the location of the Four Belfries and the specific portal which takes you to Crumbling Farum Azula: Activating this teleporter requires an Imbued Sword Key There's one of these keys for each of the three portals at the Four Belfries: one is at the top tower of the Four Belfries itself; another is on a tower roof in the Academy Of Raya Lucaria; and the third is behind a barrier in Sellia in the Caelid Wilds Once you activate the teleporter, you will be transported to a closed-off section of Crumbling Farum Azula, a short distance from the main island. At the end of this small section of land you'll find the Pearldrake Talisman, a handy Talisman which reduces the Elemental damage you take from enemies there's nothing to do except return to the main continent of The Lands Between There's no way to get from the tiny floating island to Crumbling Farum Azula itself so you'll need to wait until much later on in the game before you can explore it fully © 2025 Rock Paper Shotgun, an IGN Entertainment, Inc. brand. 18 Mansell Street Level 3, London, E1 8AA, United Kingdom. We've bested all the demigods in Elden Ring explored the entire world of the Lands Between delved into the depths beneath the land and their history and learned all we can about the Outer Gods It's time to finally stand before the Elden Ring and become Elden Lord there are still several people standing in our way We've been dealing out death all over the Lands Between It's time to restore it as a natural part of the world we have to head to the strange mausoleum city of Crumbling Farum Azula After kindling the Flame of Ruin with Melina you find yourself awakening in Crumbling Farum Azula This is a city literally floating in the air but also in an endless state of disintegration and it's hard to say exactly what's going on here What lore we can glean about Farum Azula is that it's an ancient city It's also a mausoleum meant to honor an ancient dragon since you can find and fight the two-headed monster dragon as an optional boss as you make your way through here you have to lay down and get pulled into a strange tornado--this moment seems to suggest that to find and take on Placidusax you have to take some kind of magical pathway to reach the Dragonlord.) It sounds like Farum Azula could be the ancient home or birthplace of the dragons before they made their way to the Lands Between who you might have encountered here or there the wolf-man raised as Ranni's brother who acts as her "shadow," is another they forge weapons the likes of which are beyond human understanding and they seemingly protect and serve the dragons Farum Azula gives us a look into the past of the Erdtree and the Golden Order that we've only seen hinted at in other places we learn here from the Remembrance of the Dragonlord that the title of Elden Lord seems to only be applied in relation to the Elden Ring and the Greater Will--which suggests that Marika is perhaps not the first god chosen by the Greater Will to serve it in the Lands Between Placidusax is also implied to have been immortal It's tough to say exactly what happened to Farum Azula and where it fits into the world of the Lands Between but we can freely speculate with some of the associations so here's what I think is the deal with Farum Azula Before the age of the Erdtree--which Marika established by defeating the giants and their Fell God--there was the age of the dragons like Marika after she removed Destined Death from the Elden Ring That immortality guaranteed that the Greater Will's agents would be in place to run (most of or at least part of) the Lands Between forever while still leaving Destined Death in place to allow death to happen naturally in the world something a lot of characters suggest was very important Removing Destined Death from the Elden Ring seems to have been the start of all the problems that led the Lands Between to the state we find them in today perhaps by a cosmic creature similar to Astel or through the machinations of another Outer God The Ruins Greatsword says it came from a ruin that "crumbled when struck by a meteorite," and the use of the word "crumbled" to talk about ruins feels pretty specific--that word only seems to appear in any lore entries that are related to Farum Azula The sword also seems to resemble the aesthetic of the buildings in Farum Azula but even though Farum Azula has been crumbling "from time immemorial," it sounds like it got walloped by a meteorite at some point says the spell is made up of "the dying wails of the Dragonlord who once dwelled eternal beyond time." Finally the Remembrance of the Dragonlord says that Placidusax's god "fled," and the dragon awaited its return It's also possible that Elden Lord exists as a concept or title free of the Greater Will and the god that fled is a different outer god much in the same way that the giants worshiped an outer god of their own then perhaps Farum Azula was attacked by the Greater Will itself the lore says the Greater Will sent a star to the Lands Between; maybe that was the meteorite that struck the dragons' home and ended their reign is that Elden Lord is a title specific to the Greater Will and that the dragons were the first race it chose to rule the Lands Between we can guess that Farum Azula got nailed by a meteorite just like Godfrey was Elden Lord to Marika--and that god fled from the attack though we have no idea who or what it was or where it ended up (although there's a compelling theory on this With the dragons' home devastated and their Elden Lord ravaged the Greater Will looked for a new god to run the Lands Between marking the start of the Golden Order and the era of the Lands Between that we know This line of thinking fills in a lot of potential gaps when we discussed the ancient dragon cult of Leyndell People worshiping dragons makes more sense if you consider the dragons had a god and an Elden Lord before the rise of Marika And the dragons getting abandoned by the Greater Will and losing their claim to power provides a pretty good motivation for the great dragon Gransax to attack Leyndell home of those the Greater Will now favored triggering the war in which Godwyn fought and defeated them make a pretty good case for Farum Azula to be the first seat of power for the Greater Will all of the Empyreans chosen by the Two Fingers get a "shadow," a beastman protector if any Empyrean goes against the Greater Will those beastmen become "baleful shadows," assassins meant to hunt and eliminate their Empyreans to stop them If you follow Ranni's storyline to its conclusion you see this happen to Blaidd; he loses his mind and becomes hostile even as his dialogue suggests he doesn't believe that to be possible Blaidd's transformation into a baleful shadow happens against his will suggesting he's under the control of the Greater Will It sure sounds like the Greater Will instituted a failsafe with these shadows to ensure that no Empyrean would ever try to go against it--suggesting that perhaps such an insurrection happened in the past and meeting him is your goal in Farum Azula When you make your way to the top of Farum Azula If you've been helping Gurranq find Death Root all this time he'll recognize you and haltingly ask why you've come here in search of Destined Death What we learn here is that Gurranq is none other than Maliketh Marika's shadow and keeper of the Rune of Death Maliketh's story is one of the most tragic in the game: He's been trying to correct a mistake that wasn't his fault since before the Shattering Marika's shadow served her when she was an Empyrean the two were so close that Maliketh is considered Marika's adoptive brother we learn from lore related to Maliketh that Marika didn't have much use for the shadow except for one particular way: to be keeper of the Rune of Death When Marika removed Destined Death from the Elden Ring That made Maliketh a force to be feared even by the demigods as the only person in the Lands Between who could wield Destined Death Marika's move to remove the Rune of Death from the Elden Ring seems like it spawned some disagreement We're once again moving into the realm of speculation but it seems that one group that potentially disagreed with Marika on this point were the Godskin Apostles a group you've run into a few times through the course of Elden Ring it's tough to say exactly what the deal is with the Godskin Apostles Lore related to Maliketh says that he defeated the Godskins with Destined Death; they previously wielded the power of Destined Death through their magical Black Flame a power capable of killing gods--but when the rune was removed from the Elden Ring someone we know only as the Gloam-Eyed Queen or Dusk-Eyed Queen This queen was said to be an Empyrean herself but we don't know what happened to her after she was beaten by Maliketh YouTuber Smoughtown has a great video speculating on the whole deal with the Godskins and the Gloam-Eyed Queen I agree with Smoughtown that the Godskins were pro-Destined Death hence the very word "Godskin," and that when Marika changed the rules of death in the Lands Between What Godskins we still find in the game are the remnants of that order searching locations like the Caelid Divine Tower and making their way through Farum Azula in hopes of reclaiming Destined Death and beating the demigods themselves With Destined Death under the control of Maliketh and the Godskins defeated Marika was free to usher in the era of the Golden Order part of the Rune of Death was stolen from Maliketh and used to create the blades of the demigod-slaying Black Knives The assassins then used that power against Godwyn a horrible occurrence that Maliketh never forgave himself for Rather than just holding onto the Rune of Death Maliketh buried it within his own body and it became part of him as he vowed that the Rune would never be taken from him again Donning the more anonymous identity of Gurranq Maliketh started working with Golden Order fundamentalists to clean up the mess he believed he'd made through his negligence dispatching warriors to kill Those Who Live in Death The undead were an affront to the Golden Order they were directly created because of Maliketh's failure and Godwyn's death Maliketh dedicated himself to eliminating the Deathroot from the Lands Between--he literally eats it--and the abominations it created even sometimes losing control of himself because of its influence Though Maliketh seems to blame himself for what happened on the Night of Black Knives it's possible to learn who was actually behind it you can help him determine that it was Ranni who orchestrated the Night of Black Knives and if you complete quest lines related to Rykard and Bernahl Bernahl appears in Farum Azula and attacks you seemingly on his way to try to claim Destined Death for himself he drops an item called the Blasphemous Claw which you can use to parry Maliketh's Destined Death attacks during his boss fight--an incredible ability with the power to defeat the keeper of Destined Death The lore on the Blasphemous Claw says that it was given to Rykard by Ranni "on the night of the dire plot," and suggests that the idea was that Rykard could use the item as a last resort to challenge Maliketh All that suggests that the Night of Black Knives was an expansive plot of Ranni's to gain power which makes sense given how many of those disembodied hands we've found at key places like the Mountaintops of the Giants he reveals his true identity as Marika's shadow the sword made of Destined Death he presumably used to defeat the Godskins allowing you to claim the Rune of Death from him The Rune of Death is the last piece you needed. This area is accessed directly after the conclusion to the Mountaintops of the Giants region The main objective here is to make it to the grand coliseum in the centre of the area and defeat what lurks there we will be sharing the most straightforward route to completing your tasks at hand Feel free to explore elsewhere and then rejoin this guide when you're ready to press on Detailed below is how to complete Crumbling Farum Azula We've broken the guide down into easy to follow steps that will get you on your way to completing everything you need to do here Directly after the cutscene involving your character and Melina in the Mountaintops of the Giants you'll be transported automatically to Crumbling Farum Azula This is a place high up in the sky with whirlwinds circling all around it follow it to its end and then look to your right Drop down onto the ledges below you and then onto the balcony Ahead of you will be your first proper glimpse of the area Now follow the path down to your left until you come to a sort of temple corridor packed full of Beastmen of Farum Azula You fought just one of them as a boss fight back in Limgrave Try to draw their attention one by one to make this a manageable fight there'll be a Site of Grace on your left in the corridor Jump down onto the top of some ruins and a dragon should appear just ahead of you You can either fight it or skip it and move on: your choice At the end of the path will be two open doorways you can take to find another Site of Grace Ahead of you is a room full of graves and two more Beastmen — one patrolling and the other taking a nap and then head through the large room to find yet another Site of Grace Look out over the edge of the Site of Grace and you'll spot where you have to head next Some light platforming is involved as well as a dragon Drop down onto the greenish platform at the bottom with skeletons equipped with spears on top Kill them all to make this bit slightly easier Don't forget you have to attack them once more after killing them to make sure they stay down using the rubble to plan on the level below where it's perched At the other end of this level will be another Site of Grace Head indoors and you'll encounter some very tough soldiers with their own Ashes of War Be very careful around these because you want to preserve as much of your health as possible for the battle ahead After killing the first and going down the stairs it was patrolling Through the door ahead is a very hard boss encounter against the Godskin Duo For information on how to kill Godskin Duo, click the following link: Elden Ring: How to Beat Godskin Duo rest at the new Site of Grace and take the doorway to your left It's the one the big dragon's head in the ceiling is pointing to You'll now have a view of the complete path ahead of you Drop down to the ledge on your left and watch out for the two Beastmen: one throws bladed boomerangs at you and the other attacks head-on then pass through the open windows on your left before you get to the dog munching on some bones drop down carefully and run around the outskirts of the room At the other end is some rubble you can use to cross over to the next path Continue along this corridor until you spot a door on your right Take it and cross over the pieces of building suspended in mid-air to reach the other side instead of taking the staircase up that you saw on your way down here across the rubble you must take the passage on your left through to the other side of this structure You're in the right place if you spot a dragon and a knight standing next to it head for the other side of the rocky platform the dragon was stood on Here there'll be a couple more Beastmen to kill and then a piece of white rubble you'll have to carefully cross using the pillars still left standing beware of the Beastman on the other side throwing bladed boomerangs at you In the small room ahead with an altar on the back wall is yet another group of Beastmen Try to get these to follow out outside and fight them one by one because you're likely to die trying to kill them all at once take the path in the back right corner of the room to a lift that takes you up to a Site of Grace head up the broken staircase outside and you'll be on the path up to the main arena Just avoid the Tree Sentinel waiting for you at the top and pass through the fog door You must now take on Beast Clergyman, which transforms into Maliketh, the Black Blade after taking off 50 per cent of its health. For information on how to kill them both, click the following link: Elden Ring: How to Beat Beast Clergyman and Maliketh, the Black Blade the game will transport you back to Leyndell Do you think Crumbling Farum Azula is the best location in the game? Not only is the boss and the dungeon it's located in entirely optional but it attacks in relatively slow patterns that are easy to predict and highly telegraphed there isn't much you actually need to do to prepare yourself for the Beastman of Farum Azula this is chiefly because the boss is reasonably straightforward as far as boss fights go but it's also because there aren't any elemental effects or other debilitating status effects you need to prepare for with the Beastman because of the boss' sweeping attacks with a massive cleaver you'll likely want to take a shield into this fight with you if you're intending on getting up close and delivering melee-based attacks against the it - this will allow you to weather a hit or two Otherwise, you'll obviously want to take in the the maximum amount of Flasks of Crimson Tears that you can possibly carry on you Considering this boss is very early on in Elden Ring it's highly unlikely that you'll have an extensive Health meter when you're facing the Beastman so even though his attacks are relatively slow your Health can get eaten up quickly if you're not careful The Beastman of Farum Azula's attacks are slow and telegraphed through his movements but that doesn't mean he can't put up a solid fight the attack you'll really need to be wary of is his chain combo: after letting out a roar the Beastman will chain together six attacks in a row which culminate in him jumping into the air and crashing down to the ground below with a heavy attack We'd recommend backing away from the boss in this phase and plan to run back in and land a solid hit or two after his final attacks immediately hits the ground Another attack to be on the lookout for is when the Beastman of Farum Azula grabs his cleaver with two hands This is the boss preparing to dart forward and slam the weapon down on the ground so make sure to either back off to a safe distance or roll around to the side of the Beastman at the last possible second to dodge this attack One potentially deadly combo of attacks can really easily bait the player The Beastman will swing the cleaver from side to side in two motions before bringing it back over his head to thud onto the ground in front of him because the Beastman actually lets loose a fourth which can catch you out if you're stood to close to him on any side A solid method for beating the Beastman if you're using melee attacks is to actually combo a jump with a single attack Performing a forward jump can actually get you over the Beastman when he's landed a final attack in a combo and attacking the boss on your descent will likely hit him square on the head delivering far more damage than if you were to chip away at him in any other place Don't get greedy with this method though - back off once you've landed an attack because the Beastman will come lurching towards you with an attack of his own as soon as possible and a Flamedrake Talisman for your efforts While you can spend the Runes on whatever you please, whether it be to level up or something else the Flamedrake Talisman specifically negates fire effects on your player character Considering it's not a spoiler to say Elden Ring features firebreathing dragons in certain areas of the game this is likely going to be pretty invaluable in your journey ahead you can warp back to the start of the dungeon Need more help? Jump back to our list of Elden Ring bosses or our Elden Ring walkthrough Here's everything you need to know about taking on Groveside Cave The time has come where you're going to venture into Groveside Cave in Elden Ring but the Beastman of Farum Azula can pose some trouble if you aren't prepared there are a bunch of useful resources for you to grab as you make your way towards the dungeon boss we'll explain how to make your way through the cave and how to beat the Beastman of Faruma Azula Let's not forget about what rewards you'll get for felling this foe just north of The First Steps Site of Grace If you follow the main path from this grace you can miss the cave - keep that in mind if you find yourself getting lost Groveside Cave contains a few four-legged foes They're quick and can perform multiple bites in quick succession you can run along narrow tunnels to avoid being attacked by an entire pack at once or run straight to the right to face the dungeon boss and there are also 3x Glowstones and a Golden Rune to grab You'll also find plenty of Cave Moss and Silver Fireflies around the cave with the wolves cleared and resources collected go along the tunnel to your right and traverse the mist to face the Beastman of Farum Azula The Beastman of Farum Azula doesn't seem all that beastly but they're pretty ferocious with their swipes This particular boss only requires you to be around Level 9-10 for a fair fight Groveside Cave should prove to be no issue whatsoever The trick to this particular dungeon boss is letting them perform their swipe attacks - being cautious that they'll perform multiple in quick succession close the space between you and the Beastman so that you can go in for your attack without being staggered you should be able to pull off multiple heavy attacks It's all about finding the opportune moment to strike This particular boss only requires you to be around Level 9-10 for a fair fight When you finally fell the Beastman of Farum Azula That's it! It’s possible to take down the Godskin Duo in Crumbling Farum Azula by traditional means or even enlist the help of Recusant Bernahl whose NPC summon sign waits outside the boss room when you approach from the Dragon Temple Transept site of grace With other bodies besides yours in the mix you can more easily focus on one boss at a time then gang up on the other when one goes down Bloodhound’s Step can help you avoid their annoying attacks (you’ll get this Ash of War from the Night’s Cavalry near Lenne’s Rise in eastern Caelid) so bust out that Hoarfrost Stomp and Rivers of Blood (from a scarab southeast of Caria Manor and the NPC invader at Church of Repose Heck, why not spam Night Maiden’s Mist (purchased from Gowry as part of Millicent’s Quest) at them Don’t be shy about using even the cheapest of strategies against these obnoxious knuckleheads But there’s one strategy that’s so effective it feels like it might have been what the designers wanted you to do all along: Sleep Both bosses are so weak to sleep that a single well-aimed throwing pot can send them both to la-la-land where they’ll remain for a shockingly long time You can inflict sleep on one of them and have enough time to kill the other twice before the first awakens There are a number of different lullabies you can sing them: Each of the above three recipes requires St You likely have some in your inventory already You can buy a few from the previously mentioned Raya Lucaria merchant as well as the one near Fort Haight in eastern Limgrave if you have access to the Consecrated Snowfield the jellyfish outside the Apostate Derelict church have a small chance to drop them there are a couple of options for inflicting sleep that require no consumables: By the way, if you haven’t yet accessed the Consecrated Snowfield, check out our guide to reaching the Haligtree this is the part of the guide where we’d tell you to study the boss’s attacks learning how to avoid or counter each one while memorizing where the openings for your own attacks might be These two aren’t meant to be fought like other bosses we’re just going to give you some general tips and notes on a few attacks to look out for Remember: The Godskin Duo are not fighting fair This isn’t an honorable duel between players; use the wide variety of tools that the designers have included in the game and this boss becomes borderline manageable they drop the Smithing-Stone Miner’s Bell Bearing [4] which allows you to buy Smithing Stone [7] and [8] plus the Black Flame Tornado Ash of War and 127,500 runes Elden Ring released more than a year ago and there is still a lot for fans to discover in the game. The ultimate answer is that time is convoluted It took me about 100 hours to finally become the Elden Lord in FromSoftware’s new hit game yet one determined speedrunner who goes by Distortion2 has already managed to roll credits in less than 1/200th of my playtime Bad jokes aside, it is legitimately impressive that runners like Distortion2 have managed to crack the game to this level so quickly it helps that many of the techniques that runners use to slice their way through the game have also been present in previous FromSoftware games some of the tricks that Distortion uses in the video are absolutely mind-boggling The main glitch that Distortion uses to skip to the end of the game is called a "wrong warp," and it's a speedrunning classic when you quit Elden Ring and load the game again you don't always end up in exactly the same location Clever speedrunners figure out ways to fool the game into shunting them into a certain route the first ten minutes of the run is basically just Distortion grabbing the spectral steed Torrent and making a beeline to an area of the game know as the Four Belfries One of these belfries teleports the player to a secret zone in an endgame area called Crumbling Farum Azula the player wouldn't be able to access the rest of Farum Azula from this zone Distortion fools the game into depositing them right at the entrance Distortion enters the Academy of Raya Lucaria and purposefully dies to a certain enemy in order to be whisked away to the Volcano Manor Distortion collects a bundle of necessary resources as well as killing a tough boss called Godskin Noble The Noble's fearsome moveset isn't a problem for Distortion because they use another save and quit glitch to turn off the boss's AI Turns out the boss is a lot easier when it just sits there and takes your hits Distortion upgrades an axe called the Icerind Hatchet quite a few times then proceeds to defeat the rest of the endgame bosses (We won't reveal their identities here for the sake of spoilers.) The hatchet's weapon art is a giant area-of-effect floor wave that carves up the bad guys relatively easily but it still takes a lot of dodging on Distortion’s part Distortion uses another wrong warp trick to simply walk past the penultimate boss entirely Over the past few days, Distortion has beaten their own world record no less than five times. Ironically, the leaderboards on Speedrun.com aren't even open for the game yet so we don't have a good idea of what categories speedrunners will want to compete in yet the fact that any-percent runs are this fast not even a month after launch is staggering and we'll have to see if Distortion continues to improve on this time Summon sign location for Bernahl's targets This NPC drops one of the legendary weapons it's easy to miss if you get ahead of yourself and progress the game too far without speaking to him first It does take you into one of the last areas of the game though so don't expect to finish it quickly if your Tarnished is just setting out Here's how to complete the Elden Ring Bernahl quest.  You can meet Bernahl pretty early on, at the Warmaster's Shack in Limgrave where he'll offer to sell you Ashes of War He also has a dialogue option which only seems to change his next response so you're free to choose whichever option you want This step isn't required to start his quest at Volcano Manor Note: You won't be able to complete this step if you've killed Rykard or Maliketh: Rykard because the NPCs in Volcano Manor disappear afterwards and Maliketh because you will no longer be able to access the Fortified Manor The Crumbling Farum Azula steps are unaffected You won't meet Bernahl again until you reach Volcano Manor in Mt Gelmir. You can reach this area soon after arriving in Liurnia, either by getting an invitation from Rya or by getting killed by an Abductor Virgin enemy at the bottom of Raya Lucaria Academy However you choose to get there, you'll find Bernahl in the room with Rya and Diallos which requires the Drawing Room key to access but his quest won't start until you've completed the second assassination in Altus Plateau as part of the main Volcano Manor quest When you return to the manor with this step completed talk to Bernahl and he'll hand over the "Letter to Bernahl" item Keep up to date with the most important stories and the best deals Bernahl has been instructed to assassinate two targets in Leyndell Royal Capital and suggests you go along to help him The targets are Vagram the Raging Wolf and Errant Sorcerer Wilhelm and their summon sign is found on the ground floor of the Fortified Manor Once you've defeated both NPCs, you'll receive the Raging Wolf armor set as a reward. You can then return to Volcano Manor and speak to Bernahl to get the Gelmir's Fury sorcery You're now free to complete the rest of the Volcano Manor questline and defeat the boss of the area but you can still access his shop by interacting with his sword in his previous location Unlock the Beside the Greatbridge Site of Grace.(Image credit: From Software)Head in the opposite direction to Maliketh's boss room.(Image credit: From Software)Go through the door at the bottom of the stairs.(Image credit: From Software)The ladder leads down to the walkway where Bernahl will invade.(Image credit: From Software)Bernahl's invasion in Crumbling Farum Azula Elden Ring's NPC quests Bernahl's next stop is Crumbling Farum Azula You can find his summon sign outside the Godskin Duo boss room and he is a huge help when dealing with this potentially tricky fight It's also worth noting that you don't need to complete the Volcano Manor step to make him available as a summon here Continue to work your way through the area until you unlock the Beside the Greatbridge Site of Grace but instead of going straight on up the road to Maliketh's boss room turn around and head in the opposite direction but veer to the right at the end to avoid the broken section Head through the door on your right at the bottom and you'll find yourself on a balcony You should find a ladder that leads down to a relatively narrow walkway below.  Climb down the ladder and head east towards the building at the end There are a couple of beastman enemies in the area so be careful you don't aggro them and make the fight more difficult for yourself you're rewarded with the Devourer's Scepter killing Maliketh before Bernahl could invade you would lock you out of this final step but it appears to have been patched to allow the invasion regardless of area progress—I was able to trigger Bernahl's invasion after completing everything else in Farum Azula at time of writing Sarah JamesSocial Links NavigationSenior Guides WriterSarah started as a freelance writer in 2018 she was offered a full-time position on the PC Gamer team where she takes every possible opportunity to talk about World of Warcraft and Elden Ring most of her spare time is spent in Azeroth—though she's quite partial to JRPGs too One of her fondest hopes is to one day play through the ending of Final Fantasy X without breaking down into a sobbing heap She probably has more wolves in Valheim than you Hidden away in Crumbling Farum Azula is a must-have Talisman for spellcasters: the Old Lord’s Talisman Throughout Elden Ring but only nine of them are part of the game’s Legendary Talisman achievement One particular Talisman that isn’t too tricky to get ahold of but can be very easy to miss if you don’t know where to look A strong Talisman for those using Sorceries and Incantations throughout their game this particular medallion hides away in Crumbling Farum Azula waiting for the Tarnished to find it here’s where to find the Old Lord’s Talisman in Elden Ring Considering this Talisman is acquired during the end-game The Old Lord’s Talisman is found in Crumbling Farum Azula in Elden Ring, making it only accessible after having beaten the Fire Giant and beginning to set the Erdtree alight To get the Talisman, you’ll want to have collected the Beside the Great Bridge Site of Grace, which is the Grace closest to Maliketh, the Black Blade’s boss arena Keep pressing forward down the stairs until you end up going through a door and find yourself outside again you can jump down without taking any damage) and the Old Lord’s Talisman is in a chest in the room at the end The chest is guarded by three Beastmen though, so take caution. Additionally, if you have already defeated Rykard, Lord of Blasphemy whilst at Volcano Manor you’ll simultaneously be invaded by Recusant Bernahl here The Old Lord’s Talisman, while equipped, will extend the duration of Spells by 30%. This includes both Sorceries and Incantations, and is arguably a must-have for any Intelligence build For more on Elden Ring, take a look at our boss order guide to determine who else you’ve left to beat. On top of that, don’t neglect the best Ashes of War and the best Spirit Ashes throughout The Lands Between too There’s plenty of Legendary ones to find Today, suburbia is a typology that has been greatly criticized. We believe that suburbs have great potential in becoming qualified and generous spaces for the inhabitants. The atmosphere of each island in their proposal is intensified by preserving the existing typologies and upgrading the green areas. The area is densified on the premises of the neighborhood, creating the familiar squares and qualified plazas that we know from suburbs, rather than defined streets. Courtesy of WE ArchitectureSurrounded by the built islands, the focus site, Bybækgunden , plays the role as a representative model for how to create robust solutions for the suburbs of the future. The building typology is planned after a flexible grid of 40 x 40 meters with mixed functions in up to 6 storeys. This flexible grid allows space for large squares and pockets in the porous building mass. The resulting typology is a harmonic variety of suburban and urban elements. because it is a key location in The One Ring’s main story The most important thing you need to do to get to Crumbling Farum Azula is kill the fire giant on the Mountain Top of Giants you will need to have killed at least two demigods and defeated Margot in the capital Read on to find out how to reach Crumbling Farum Azula in Elden Ring and what you need to have accomplished in the game to get there there are a couple of things that you will need to do before you unlock how to get to Crumbling Farum Azula in Elden Ring The first thing you’ll need to do to get to Crumbling Farum Azula in Elden Ring is acquire two excellent runes These are gained by killing major bosses in the game The quickest two would be Godrick The Grafted Although these will take longer to get to and involve jumping into several unrelated questlines not to mention the fact that they are more difficult to fight under level 70 you will be able to enter Leyndell (after killing the Draconic Tree Sentinel all you need to do is head through the city and up the Erd Tree roots you’ll need to fight a Golden Shade of Godfrey Using a spirit summon to distract him is the easiest way to win the fight Lightning strikes are most effective against this boss This fight is a bit tougher than Godfrey but you can summon Melina to help out it unlocks the way to the Grand Lift of Rold which you can take up to the Mountain Top of Giants While the Mountain Top of Giants isn’t the largest region in Elden Ring it can feel that way due to the circuitous route you need to take to get to the Fire Giant and then to Crumbling Farum Azula You must head straight ahead from the lift following the cliff tops and crossing a large chain bridge you’ll enter a canyon with several golems where you’ll need to travel west towards the frozen lake and follow the path up the hill to the south You will pass several giant corpses until you get to a fissure in the mountain with two large chains From the nearest site of grace to the fire giant boss you enter the boss arena by crossing over the chain bridge and through the fog door The Fire Giant is one of the toughest compulsory bosses in the Elden Ring due to his huge size and his AOE during his second stage It is recommended that you fight with Torrent to increase your maneuverability You need to climb onto the rim of it (don’t jump in) and follow it around the left hand side until the site of grace called Forge of Giants you need to rest at the site of grace and talk to Melina She will ask if you are ready to commit a great sin and there will be a cut scene where the Erd Tree burns down and your character passes out to wake up in Crumbling Farum Azula if you’ve sided with the Three Fingers while resting at the Forge of the Giants Site of Grace select the option ‘Listen to the sound of the flames’ resulting in a different cut scene but ultimately lets you reach Crumbling Farum Azula There is one way to get to Crumbling Farum Azula before you reach the capital This is via the portal in the Four Belfries in Liurnia of the Lakes where the first waygate marked Crumbling Lands will take you to Crumbling Farum Azula once you use an Imbued Sword Key You cannot access anywhere else in the region this way but it will still show on your map as having visited the area Crumbling Farum Azula is an important area in Elden Ring It’s where you fight Maliketh the Black Blade (as the Beast Clergyman) and unlock access to the game’s final two boss fights Dane started off gaming at the tender age of 3 with the first Atari console His favorite video game dissolution of the Lands Between entirely. Reachable only after eliminating the Fire Giant and thus setting the Erdtree alight the Farum Azula is a realm which even the most hardened of Tarnished will be tested again and again Though we’re really just here for the Golden Seeds Farum Azula is in the sky While the land itself has been torn asunder this doesn’t stop a litany of enemies standing against the Tarnished at every turn Players will generally work clockwise around the cylindrical map although you would be wise to always keep an eye out on hidden passages that will allow players to move counter-clockwise Looks can be misleading — this Golden Seed is above the Godskin Duo Once you finally eliminate the quarrelsome pair you’ll want to eventually buttonhook left and find a Stonesword gargoyle and this Golden Seed should be in sight shortly after that With this Golden Seed comes a slew of enemies; however — Tarnished would be wise to move slowly and eliminate the enemies piecemeal to ensure they aren’t surrounded as these enemies will resurrect once downed and their companions will swarm the player to try to block them from stopping the resurrection and get as much intelligence as possible before committing to a fight Continue around Farum Azula in a clockwise manner and you’ll eventually start getting swarmed by birds as the camera lock-on struggles to keep them in sight and melee specialists will similarly struggle to get a hit on them casting spells on the path near the Tarnished The dragon doesn’t have full HP: get in close and put an end to its shenanigans before doubling northeast and grab the final Golden Seed of Farum Azula with blessed ease.
