PowerGo has completed the installation of 22 charging points in the Danish municipality of Glostrup
The 20 AC charging points and two fast charging points offer a capacity ranging from 22 to 50 kilowatts (kW) and are all publicly accessible
The municipality of Glostrup selected PowerGo as Charge Point Operator (CPO) through a public tender
All charging points have now been installed
making Glostrup part of PowerGo’s growing charging network in Denmark
This provides residents with more opportunities to charge their electric vehicle (EV)
PowerGo’s charging solutions are tailored to local needs and can be found throughout the municipality

Sentia sells facility to focus on delivering services & free up resources
Data center provider Penta Infra has bought a data center from IT services firm Sentia outside Copenhagen
Sentia acquired the data center in Smedeland
Glostrup in 2016 and from there operates its own Sentia Cloud
The company said it was selling the facility to focus on delivering services to customers and free up resources
"Operating a data center is not Sentia's core business
we have decided to divest this line of business and forge a partnership with Penta Infra
who has the right capabilities for and focus on running a data center," Jakob Høholdt
Penta Infra operates data centers in the Netherlands and Germany and this acquisition sees the company move into the Danish market
The company said it plans to make further moves into the Nordics in future
“We are proud of Sentia's confidence in Penta to run this mission-critical facility
this acquisition perfectly fits our strategy in expanding our European service offering to Denmark and adds another site to our existing edge facilities in Germany and the Netherlands,” said Alex Bakker
“Entering a new market in the Nordics is the next step in Penta’s strategy in the creation of a European data center network
We consider Copenhagen as [an] upcoming European hub
from where further expansion in the region will be supported
We will invest in the data center in order to meet the increasing market requirements and to anticipate increasing market demand.”

was convicted of running a nine-billion-krone ($1.27 billion) scam that enabled companies he controlled to fraudulently claim Danish tax refunds between 2012 and 2015
The court also ordered that Shah be deported from Denmark on completion of his sentence
and that assets worth 7.2 billion kroner be confiscated
Shah wished reporters a "Merry Christmas" as he showed up to court wearing a Santa hat
before receiving the harshest sentence ever handed out in Denmark for financial crimes
he assured the court that he had acted in good faith
which began in May after an almost 10-year investigation
the prosecution showed that dummy companies controlled by Shah pretended to own shares in Danish companies and received tax rebates for which they were not eligible
Prosecutors said they had identified more than 3,000 such requests using what they described as a "well-designed and organised fraud scheme"
the prosecutor's office said it had already seized some three billion kroner
a Dubai court ordered Shah to pay Denmark's tax authority more than $1.2 billion
and another related trial is also underway in Britain
after years of negotiations which included the signing of an extradition treaty between the two countries in March 2022
which take advantage of a loophole in European tax laws
have been uncovered in several EU countries
The schemes involve buying and selling shares around the time of dividend payments
so quickly that the tax authorities are unable to identify the true owner
making it possible to illegally claim tax credits on profits
the scams have cost European taxpayers up to 150 billion euros ($157 billion)

The study by the University of Copenhagan and Glostrup Hospital in Denmark revealed that people who are blind have more nightmares than people who can see
they also have more bad dreams than people who go blind later in life
a terrifying 25 percent of the dreams that people who are born blind experience are nightmares
"The study confirms an already existing hypothesis that people's nightmares are associated with emotions they experience while awake. And blind people apparently experience more threatening or dangerous situations during the day than people with normal sight," the lead author of the study, Amani Meaidi, from both the University of Copenhagan and Glostrup Hospital, told Science Nordic.
the researchers asked 50 people to record what they dreamt about every night - of those
they found that the participants who were born blind didn't dream any visual content
"The study also points out that the sensory input and experiences we get while awake are decisive when it comes to what we dream. So people without visual sensory input dream to a much greater extent in terms of sounds, tastes, smells, and touch," said Meaidi.
A quarter of their dreams were also nightmares, the research found, often involving threats experienced in daily life, such as spilling coffee or being run over by a car
"At the core of my nightmares is a feeling of complete helplessness," 41-year-old Heidi Andersen, who was born blind, told Science Nordic.
The researchers also discovered that people who lost their sight later in life often had visual content in their dreams
the fewer dreams they had with visual content
Only seven percent of their dreams were nightmares
People with healthy vision experienced nightmares just six percent of the time
Although scientists still don't know for sure what the role of dreams is
it's generally believed that dreaming helps us sort through information and remember things that are key to our survival and welfare
These results, which are published in the journal Sleep Medicine
suggest that people who are born blind have a greater need for these lessons
a neuroscientist from the University of Copenhagan who was not involved in the research
believes that this explains why people who lose their sight later in life have fewer nightmares than those who were born blind
Although it's pretty horrible to think about one in four dreams being a nightmare, the researchers also looked into whether these bad dreams impacted negatively on the lives of people who are born blind. Thankfully, their results showed no pronounced anxiety or depression as a result of the nightmares
This study is a fascinating insight into what dreams look and feel like when you've never been able to see the world around you
and the lengths our brains will go to to keep us alive

Danish police carried out a search at the hotel of cycling team Bahrain Victorious at the request of French authorities on Thursday, Copenhagen Police said in a statement on the eve of the Tour de France Grand Depart.
Authorities searched all team vehicles and the rooms of staff and riders at 5:30 a.m. local time in Brondby. The homes of riders and staff were also searched by police on Monday before their departure for the Tour.
French prosecutors opened a preliminary investigation into doping allegations against Bahrain Victorious after police searched the team’s hotel late in last year’s race.
“Based on a request from the French police, as part of an ongoing investigation in France, we have carried out a search at a hotel in Brondby,” Chief Superintendent Dannie Rise said.
“We have no further information about the operation, and I shall refer you to the French police for more about the investigation itself.”
The team said in a statement that it fully cooperated with the authorities and the search was completed within two hours.
“No items were seized from the team,” it added.
Bahrain Victorious won three stages in last year’s Tour. Their accommodation was raided after the 17th stage.
At the time, the prosecutor’s office in Marseille said the investigation was into “acquisition, transport, possession, import of a prohibited substance or prohibited method for use by an athlete without medical justification”.
This year’s Tour begins on Friday in Copenhagen.
