Ultra-precise alignment lasers for mechanical engineering
and revolutionary optical processors developed by Western companies continue to find their way into Russia despite international sanctions
The Insider has discovered that European companies and citizens are complicit in this process
facilitated the import into Russia of ultra-precise T-430 alignment lasers made by the German company Status Pro Maschinenmesstechnik GmbH
These devices are essential for calibrating high-precision metalworking machines
Rodriguez not only arranged the shipments but also personally delivered the devices to Russia
The customs documents contained minimal personal information about him
The T-430 self-leveling scanning laser is used to check straightness
It boasts accuracy of up to 1 micron per meter and positioning precision down to 1 nanometer
making it indispensable for complex metalworking operations
The buyer in Russia was Firma Tvema JSC (АО «Фирма Твема»)
which specializes in diagnostic equipment for railway infrastructure
Z-Laser devices produce structured light beams in the form of lines
working in conjunction with industrial cameras
These systems help detect defects and measure dimensions and shapes of parts
Their applications extend beyond metalworking to quality control and defect detection
Initially focused on supplying instruments for the Russian Academy of Sciences, the Scientific Equipment group has shifted in recent years to working with government agencies. In 2023, the company secured a 589-million-ruble contract to supply an automated measurement complex for NPP Gamma
which services Russia’s Federal Security Service (FSB) and Interior Ministry
The WaveShaper optical processor processes signals at frequencies up to several terahertz — dozens of times faster than current electronic solutions
These devices are critical for artificial intelligence
According to the Serbian commercial registry
the co-owners of the firm are are Snezhana Elinek and Rostislav Atkov
The Scientific Equipment group of companies — which includes Scientific Instruments and Systems LLC — has been under U.S. sanctions since May 2024

ted.adventist.org/news is a website of the Seventh-day Adventist church in the TED Region
Seventh-day Adventists are devoted to helping people understand the Bible to find freedom
The Danish Camp meeting is in many ways a camp meeting for all ages
all the action and fun takes place in the youth and Pathfinder area
there are times when all campers meet together in the big tent
but the programme led by the SABUS department (for children
Pathfinders and family ministry) is where old friendships are renewed and new ones made
It is the one time of the year where members and friends of the Danish Union of Churches Conference get to spend a long weekend praising God
Pathfinders and Rover Camp was set up in a new location
ideal for folk to mingle over a cup of hot chocolate
Blessed with wonderful musicians and lots of worship
Dejan Stojkovic (TED Youth and Pathfinder director) led the worship talks
But as much talking and singing took place
the camp schedule ensured there was space and time for participants to pray
just talking with God about whatever matter they wanted to talk with Him about
Many really interesting things are happening in Denmark at the moment
Some groups of young people are working with ideas of what it means to be a church today – and what it could look like tomorrow
They are youth who want to experience God’s power in their lives
there are so many things to share and so many life changing methods to explore
Another project underway is The Spiritual Caravan
A group of young adults have purchased an old caravan
which they are currently re-building for the purpose of creating a mobile meeting place
dedicated to sharing the joy of God’s love and influence in their lives
“But surely it’s the purpose of church building to do that?” Indeed
but the intent of The Spiritual Caravan is to take the church to people – instead of people to the church
the plan is to be mobile and meet as amny young people around Denmark as possible
and connect with youth in their own community
The caravan creates an opportunity to take the church to the beach
With the first stop for The Spiritual Caravan – camp meeting
its next stop will be Teen Camp during the summer holidays
there was a tremendous worship concert with a variety of wonderful songs
It was possible thanks to the blessed and creative talents of some great home grown musicians and singers
But who can hold back when praising the Lord
The Bible indicates that we really should not
Because as David and Israel worshipped according to 1 Chronicles 13:8 (NIV)
“David and all the Israelites were celebrating with all their might before God
The Danish camp meeting took place from 18-21 May 2023
consider coming during Camp Meeting season!” said attendees
sharing their delight and anticipation for future gatherings

I love stories about old school truck drivers: the kinds of folks who get the job done
without any of the drama that seems all-too-prevalent in our social-media-driven world these days
[I digress for a moment to emphasize that “drama” most certainly applies to big-time show trucks, like the ones seen here, here and here!]
Nearing 70 and contemplating retirement, Eriksen pilots a 1980-era Scania 142 tractor: a truck with some 2.57 million miles (4.147 million kilometers) on the odometer
[And he hauls BEER for a living – specifically for the great Danish brewer Carlsberg
no-drama approach to guiding his big rig safely along Denmark’s roadways is perhaps what’s most appealing about his career
Eriksen said he knows exactly where its “sweet spot” can be found while driving
“I drive nice and easy at 80 to 85 kilometres an hour (roughly 50 to 52 mph)
Yet after having in his words “enjoyed a satisfying career,” Eriksen believes he’s now ready for a rest
so it’s about time to retire,” he explained
It’ll be a loss, no doubt, when Eriksen’s skill leaves the road for the last time – something we here in the U.S. are experiencing as older drivers retire with few young ones taking their place
