When Denmark last hosted the International Ice Hockey Federation’s Men’s World Championships in 2018
Kraken prospect and Danish native Oscar Fisker Molgaard was 13 years old
Molgaard and his teammates will face Team USA to open group play at the 11,000-capacity Jyske Bank Boxen in Herning
You could say it’s a hockey dream come true for Molgaard
“That's been a goal of mine since I was younger,” said Molgaard happily during a recent conversation at the Coachella Valley Firebirds training center in the southern California desert
I told my parents I wanted to be a part of it when it came back to [Denmark] again in ’25
It's always been a goal I've been working towards
To finally be here and hopefully [he is a modest 20-year-old] be able to play those games
It’ll be huge with friends and family in the stands
decided the Kraken's 2023 second-round draft choice needed to move to Sweden for more intense competition
“There is a high difference in the level of competition at home in Denmark compared to Sweden,” said Lars Molgaard back on his son’s draft day
“In order to develop and maybe have a chance to be here today
we [all three] decided Oscar might have to go to Sweden.”
He played 15 years of hockey professionally
who is former Kraken forward Oliver Bjorkstrand’s father
a Kraken expansion pick from San Jose and former WHL Seattle Thunderbirds star and AHL Coachella Valley regular
Molgaard moved to Sweden to live with a billet family at age 14 and by 18 was living alone in an apartment in Jonkoping
as he embarked on his rookie season with HV71 in Sweden’s top pro league
The Fisker-Molgaard family decision clearly worked to plan
fueled by his mom knowing her son’s outgoing nature: “Even away from the ice as a boy
he was somebody who always made friends pretty easily
and that makes it easy for him to get to know people.”
Molgaard traveled to Coachella Valley to join the Firebirds in the customary player-development move to introduce prospects to the team
and community where they will play and live
In Molgaard’s case was inserted into the lineup right away
appearing in seven games with two goals and an assist while impressing with his two-way game and attending to small details as a centerman
Firebirds coach Derek Laxdal showed full confidence in Molgaard
slotting him on the first and second forward lines
It’s telling that he appeared in that many games
“If a player is ready to step in and contribute to the team
we'll look to get them in the lineup,” said Laxdal before Molgaard returned home April 20 to join Team Denmark
“It springboards them into the summer and the next season going forward
He's come in and contributed and been a solid part of our lineup.”
Molgaard said he was warmly welcomed by the players
a sign of the strong Firebirds culture in that any prospect who draws into the lineup means a teammate faces a potential healthy scratch.“It’s been fun,” said Molgaard about his CVF stint
“The boys have been making me feel a part of the team in a good way
The guys are battling for home-ice advantage in the playoffs and we’ve played important games
I've just been trying to go in and play my way
And I think that the boys have accepted that
They have definitely been helping me get to my best level of play
Some of the [prospects] have been here too in the spring
They know what's all about and have been taking care of me
We've been around the town getting to see the community.”
175-pound forward has impressed Firebirds coaches and the Kraken hockey operations group with his work habits and maturity
along with upgraded offensive skills to match a formidable defensive game
I think I have an advantage in that way,” said Molgaard
I've been trying to learn as much as possible
Whenever the coaches have told me to do anything
I've been looking to do it to get better.”
Molgaard has a confident view of how and where his game improved this season
in time for his American Hockey League debut and to play his best in front of the world championship crowd during the group round with hopes of advancing to the quarterfinals
with Sweden also a host nation and Molgaard’s second home the past six years
“I would say my offensive skills are stronger,” said Molgaard
“I've always been known as a two-way center man
When I first started playing in the SHL [Swedish Hockey League]
I was just trying to survive to get a spot on the team
I think what's been buried the past two years is how I have grown my offensive skills too
It's always fun to be playing with the puck
That's what I've been working on a lot this season.”

the PMGP 2022 batch visited the FoodTech trade fair in Herning
Happy to be reunited for the first time after the introduction week at the headquarter in Viby
here is what the graduates experienced and how they perceived their first business trip with Arla
everyone tells you that during your graduate journey you have more opportunities to develop and learn than you can imagine
And the trade fair in Herning is the best example for this
Even though it was on a quite short notice
all our managers wholeheartedly supported the trip
both as a chance to increase business understanding and as a network opportunity
The FoodTech in Herning is the largest trade fair for food technology in Northern Europe with over 250 exhibitors
most talks and speak ups were held in Danish
During the two days at the fair we visited many different suppliers and got a glimpse of promising new technologies that are available for our industry
some of us graduates were lucky to meet our mentors or buddies at the fair and used this opportunity for a personal meet-up
And not to forget: We tasted tons of dairy products that were displayed in the course of the International Food Contest - a great chance for us to also taste Arla products that are not available in our home countries as well as products of our competitors
The fair visit was not a mandatory part of the PMG Programme
but we were all very grateful for this opportunity
And building on our previous thoughts about growth and learning opportunities in Arla: In the programme
it’s also a lot about trust in us and encouraging own initiative
So being only 40 minutes by train away from Holstebro dairy
we decided to prolong our stay for another night and visited Holstebro the next day
One of our fellow graduates is currently on his first rotation there
so he guided us around and we could enjoy an introduction to the site’s cream cheese production at site
it was not only about the fair and the dairy visit
but also personal discussions didn't come too short
sharing both personal stories and the situation at our sites
All of us value this honest and open exchange of thoughts and the more often we see each other the more familiar we feel

Andreas Helgstrand and KWPN stallion Jovian won the 5* Grand Prix at the 2025 CDI Herning on Friday 7 March 2025
Helgstrand made his come back to the international show ring on home turf after his highly discussed one-year suspension for horse abuse in his company
Only eight pairs entered the 5* Grand Prix division
even though it has a purse of 84,600 euro (52,600 in money
The CDI classes in Herning take place in the Boxen arena while the 2025 Danish Warmblood Stallion Licensing goes on in the other exhibition halls
The world's 5* judges recently had a major meeting in Basel (SUI) at the start of February 2025
where the future of dressage judging and the sport was discussed
It has produced a mini-seismic shift in the system as the "welfare bell" was the hot potato being passed round and is now being considerably but inconsistently applied at the first CDI's of the year in Europe and Florida
judges seem more "alert" to poor bridle contact although harmony in down-scoring failing submission and self-carriage is not yet found
Helgstrand's power house stallion Jovian (by Apache x Tango) certainly has his fan club with his spectacular extended gaits - in Herning many gave the rider a standing ovation after his test - but the international judging panel was not so easily bamboozled by all that flash in comparison to their national colleagues
At Helgstrand's national come back in a rather similar test he scored 76.967% (with Kirsten Søgaard even at 79.00%)
His international return earned him 72.478% (with 73.261% being the high score)
The 72.478% turned out to be the winning score of the class
but in all fairness a low score for a 5* division which normally yields higher marks and a stronger competitive field
Maybe the early timing on the calendar is the reason
should stop complaining about a lack of money in the sport if they willingly pass by on such a great purse
Helgstrand and JovianAndreas Helgstrand's Jovian is a highly discussed horse
not only as a dressage horse but also as a breeding stallion
He's officially listed as standing 175 cm tall
His highly talked down walk when he was a youngster has developed into a fairly good walk for a Grand Prix horse
collection literally remains the stumbling block for the stallion as his classical training path was seeimingly short-circuited for rapid success in the arena
Helgstrand and Jovian began their Grand Prix test with a halt not supported on all four legs (right hind not down)
There is no need to ride for a 15 / 10 score
The trot work has massive ground cover and is lofty
the half passes are mega impressive and were very smooth
although one can question whether there is proper collection in them
The halt for rein back not square but there were good reverse steps
The stallion skated through the corners (no collection)
In passage the stallion gets wide at the base and in his front legs (lack of balance and collection)
the piaffe remains a hurdle as the stallion crosses the legs behind while doing a handstand (leaning on the shoulders
The extended walk was good: two hooves overtrack and a clear rhythm and also the collected walk was well executed
The best passage bit came after the second piaffe
In canter the two tempi changes swung to the right but were ground covering
In the zig zag there were double beats behind in the first two half passes
The one tempi changes were good but the horse was pulling in the bridle
He scored 72.478% for the win with 71.630% as low score and 73.261% as high score
The class was judged by the very experienced panel including Isobel Wessels
The second place went to classicist Dorothee Schneider (GER) on the Chinese owned 13-year old Westfalian Dayman (by Daily Deal x Flovino) with 72.196%
Schneider had a bit of a difficult start to her test with a halt that was wide behind and trot steps that were uneven and too passagey
In the second trot extension the horse got more in front of the leg and the regularity in the rhythm improved
The passage had good energy and with a hindleg under the body
and the transitions in and out of piaffe were smooth
Dayman shows a more classically correct piaffe but traveled forward at times
The bay horse is a bit phlegmatic in the body and is not equally elastic on both reins
with the right rein more 'on.' The canter tour was very secure though with a good zig zag
They finished with a final centerline with nice energy and rhythm
Dorothee Schneider on DaymanPortuguese Joao Pedro Moreira made his come back on the 10-year old Oldenburg stallion Furst Kennedy (by Fursten-Look x Don Kennedy), which he co-owns with Brazilian stud farm Haras de Drosa. The pair tragically missed out on the 2024 Paris Olympic Games where the horse developed a colic and had to be withdrawn
The pair excelled with super passage work and tempi changes
but the black stallion got narrow at the base and unbalanced in the first piaffe and his walk was lateral
In the trot extensions there was barely overtrack even though the horse is lovely in the forearm and has much shoulder freedom
Nanna Skodborg Merrald and the 14-year old Hanoverian Blue Hors St
Moritz Junior x Don Schufro) landed fourth place with 70.761%
The gorgeous black scored high notes in the canter work with good tempi changes
but in the trot extensions the regularity was not crisp clear and today the passage underwhelmed with the hindlegs not coming sufficiently under the body
He also gets very wide behind in the piaffe
Merrald is coached by her long-time trainer Michael Sogaard
The top five was completed by Denmark's Olympic team reserve Nadja Aaboe Sloth aboard the 12-year old Danish bred Favour Gersdorf (by Ferdinand x Leandro)
The sympathetic pair showed good half passes
and the horse did not achieve sufficient overtrack
He remains fixed in the frame and does not lengthening stride nor frame enough
Also in the passage the hindlegs were too much out
There was a good extended walk with a clear rhythm and just enough overtrack and a clear collected walk
but there was a bobble in the final change in zig zag

The 2025 Danish warmblood licensing in Herning was a major celebration of horse breeding and sport
Hosted by Dansk Varmblod the seven-day show featured the stallion licensing
and a celebrated gala show that sells out year after year
On Monday Dansk Varmblood proudly communicated that almost 61,000 spectators attended the event
except for the World Equestrian Festival CHIO Aachen
The hired announcer catered to the need of presenting a positive picture of the sport
he praised each dressage combination coming out of the arena
stressing their brilliant partnership with the horse
even when a ride was below par or tension-fraught
In depth knowledge of dressage seemed absent in his cheerful voice
With crowds clapping and cheering and offering standing ovations to their favourites Herning gave the impression that all is fine and dandy in the horse world after "set-backs" in 2024 whith Operation X
bad publicity of 'blue tongue' photos in Scandinavian mainstream media
and the major reputational damage Charlotte Dujardin's whipping video caused
Eurodressage archive photo of discoloured tongueHerning created a haze of optimism with its droves of horse lovers attending the event
The popularity of the show proved how deeply woven these animals are in the fabric of Danish (and European) society
in the background bigger cogs are churning
Journalist Pippa Cuckson reported on Horse Sport that a group of veterinary researchers has lodged complaints with the FEI about seven top-placed riders at the World Cup qualifiers in Amsterdam and Neumunster
putting extra pressure on the FEI to review the effect of double bridle use in dressage
They have also sent an explanatory letter to the FEI
openly copied to the riders’ national federations
and members of the European Parliament who have called for more protections for sport horses
"It is nothing new for the FEI to be sent photographs by members of public and welfare campaigners showing alleged blue tongues or other issues," Cuckson wrote
"But this is the first time a group of distinguished equine scientists have jointly put their names to complaints about specific riders."
This letter prompted Danish tabloid Ekstra Bladet to write
"horses owned by Lego billionaires are being subjected to torture
One day after Herning Blue Hors stud announced that its two riders - Nanna Skodborg Merrald and Sophia Ludvigsen - would no longer be participating in competitions for a minimum three-month period "while the Danish equestrian Federation redrafts the guidelines."
Blue Hors' sport embargo also succeeds the publication of photos of a horse with whip welts on a Danish Instagram account
allegings the whipping was done by a Blue Hors member several years ago
Blue Hors stud is owned by the Kirk Kristiansen family
They continue to support their riders but have taken a step back from the public spotlight amidst the storm
With this action Basel exposes a lack of confidence in the FEI Stewarding system to handle the matter
Blue Hors' decision seems prompted by a bigger change in store in Denmark
The federation is drafting new guidelines on the use of horses in sport and this is being done under much pressure of politicians and legislators
Agriculture and Fisheries as well as that of Niels Fuglsang
who wants to raise the issues at EU level and question whether dressage should be an Olympic discipline
FEI president Ingmar De Vos held a meeting in Brussels with MP Niels Fuglsang and blamed the state of affairs on the judges saying "we want to see again horses doing natural movements in a happy setting
Our judges will have learn because how did we get there is out because our judges wanted to see more spectacular things." De Vos concluded at this meeting
"a dressage rider is showing what the judge wants to see and the judge translates that in high marks or low marks."
It led to the Ethics Council re-writing a new version of even stricter recommendations that have been officially sent to Ministry of Food and Agriculture in December 2024
These recommendations included a ban on the use of bits "that pose a significant risk of cutting off the blood supply to the horse's tongue," referring to the curb (double bridle)
It also wants a strict measurement of looser nosebands and a ban on using spurs and whips with a force "that has the character of blows and kicks."
Ekstra Bladet interviewed a rider who said it would create an unlevel field of play for Danish athletes
Denmark is the reigning team World Champion and got silver at the Paris Olympics
If the curb bit were to be banned in Denmark from higher up
Danish riders would be the first not allowed to train and compete in the bridle
while at CDI competitions the double bridle is still mandatory at Grand Prix level
Minister Jensen has summoned the Danish Equestrian Federation to get its act together
otherwise critical decisions for the sport could be made from above
Dufour at the 2025 CDI-W GothenburgOn Thursday 13 March 2025 Cathrine Dufour was the next target in Ekstra Bladet
which posted pictures of Freestyle's open mouth in her World Cup win in Gothenburg
senior consultant in Horses & Animal Welfare for Animal Protection
speculates that she might see a pinched and slightly discoloured tongue
as well as notices excessive foam which "may or may not be" artificial
Cathrine Laudrup-Dufour asked Danish elite sport manager Wolfram Wittig and team leader Anne-Mette Binder to review her and Freestyle's ride in Gothenburg
who stated it is not possible to see if the tongue is discolored
we must remember that there is not yet sufficient evidence to show whether discolorations are an expression of discomfort
from elite athletes who are in very good physical shape that they can exhibit bluish fingertips and lips because they transport more oxygen and carbon dioxide around in the blood
they write and conclude by saying that the Danish Equestrian Federation does not want to compromise the well-being of the horses."
Ekstra Bladet's offence against Denmark's darling of dressage and the World Nr 1 ranked rider became a bridge too far
A picture captures a split second of a ride and does not give a true picture of the whole and a horse's well-being."
DRF's response to Ekstra Bladet's article on DufourDRF debunks the allegation that the horse " is seen wearing so-called ear caps that block (the movement of) the ears
which is why the ears are in the same position in all the pictures." DRF writes
"this is completely wrong and a grossly undocumented claim
The horse's ears can move freely throughout the entire ride
which is also seen in the video footage from Gothenburg
where there is slight ear play during several exercises and the prize presentation
Ear caps are used solely to dampen noise from the audience
and if they restricted the movement of the ears
it would result in immediate disqualification
The FEI stewards have carried out the mandatory equipment check after the ride and did not find any complaints
The claim that artificial foam was used is also completely false and a grossly unsubstantiated claim and was also checked by the FEI stewards
Any form of manipulation would lead to immediate disqualification
On the same day, the Danish Riding Instructor Association took to Facebook and stated
(...) The video footage from the ride with Cathrine in Gothenburg shows a horse working in balance and harmony with its rider
This is first and foremost an important indicator of horse welfare that we believe should form the basis of assessments
interim director Jens-Erik Majlund stated in the DRF press release
"it is important that the process and debate are not based on undocumented claims and accusations
as this will ultimately not benefit the welfare and well-being of horses
The debate must be conducted on a professional and evidence-based basis and it is directly misleading to conclude on still images without video documentation."
Even though the FEI has been wading through these murky waters for more than a year, no clear answer has been found except for setting up another working group with the same old faces
The noseband measurement tool is a right step forward but the shipping and delivery of the tool has been delayed and FEI stewards are supposed to apply it as of 1 May 2025
A rider asked to remove the ear bonnet for inspection
This was in 2023The social licence to operate due to animal welfare issues is nearing a critical stage and judges suddenly seem to realise they play a vital part
At an FEI 5* Judges Meeting in Basel (SUI) at the start of February 2025 the future of dressage judging was discussed
The welfare bell was a hot topic which judges applied frequently the past month to eliminate combinations; not because of lameness but because the horse or rider are not up for the day's challenge (tension
Unfortunately the big names and lesser gods are not treated equally and it's the small ants that got rung out while the big name professionals carry on
Not just the ringing of the bell has to be stricter
but as the guardians of classical dressage
judges need to adopt their scoring more strictly to the FEI Judges Manuel
frozen mouths due to extremely tight nosebands and unevenness in the gaits need to be consistently down-scored
For the judges it seems to be a hard ask and many hang on to their old habits
sticking out their neck for a new way of scoring and then get derided by colleagues
Change is difficult for all: for the riders to accept it
A clear example of this bi-polar situation in contemporary judging was to be seen in the 3* Grand Prix in Herning
where British Annabella Pidgley got scores between 62.283% to 71.43% for her ride on Vamos Amigos
The pair clearly struggled in the trot part with the horse tense and running away
and the horse behind the vertical in canter
There were also beautiful parts with the sharp passage
The big score difference exposed how difficult it is for judging system to change
The cry to "judge what you see" seems simple
Navigating the sport in another direction and into future is like an oil tanker changing course. Let's hope it is not the Ever Given
Dressage has hit the mainstream as an abusive sport and for dressage lovers it is frustrating that this beautiful discipline is being targeted
The steward needs to be able to pull through the device underneath the noseband on the nasal boneDressage needs to be the pilgrim
dressage needs to lead the way in showing that there can be a form of dressage that is acceptable and sustainable in the public eye as a sport
The major challenge we now face is defining what ethical treatment of horses is
What is ethical to one person is abuse to another and at its core level in modern day society there will always be an argument against any use of animals in sport
The ethics of horsemanship come from within
Elevating training and horsemanship beyond mere sport is an essential task at hand
The FEI needs to skippity hop and assist national federations in a much more urgent manner by setting up clear definitions of what ethical use is and a framework for ethical horse training
The judges and stewards need to pull their weight too
retrain themselves to live up to a new standard of what is acceptable and desirable in the show ring
yesterday 13 March 2024 at the CDI-W 's Hertogenbosch it was communicated in a riders' meeting behind closed doors that the measurement tool will only be used for "random checks" and not consistently applied on every horse/pony at CDI's
2025–Dorothee Schneider of Germany and Dayman won the Danish Warmblood Stallion show CDI5* Grand Prix Freestyle Saturday on a personal best score just shy of 80%
Dorothee and the 13-year-old Westfalen gelding scored 79.245% for the win in the pair’s first competition of the year
Andreas Helgstrand on the 11-year-old KWPN stallion Jovian was runner-up on 78.230% in the rider’s first international event since a year’s suspension
who competed Jovian on Denmark’s bronze medal team at the 2023 European Championships
Fellow Dane Nadja Aaboe Sloth on the 12-year-old Danish Warmblood gelding Favour Gersdorf were awarded 77.005% to place third
2024–Denmark’s Olympic silver medal partnership of Cathrine Laudrup-Dufour and Mount St
John Freestyle won the Grand Prix on a personal best score to open Western Europe’s World Cup circuit Friday
Cathrine and the 15-year-old mare were awarded 81.826% in just the fourth Grand Prix since beginning international competition on the horse that was previously competed by Charlotte Dujardin of Great Britain for team and individual bronze medals at the World Equestrian Games in Tryon in 2018
popular and highly respected around the world
was the unanimous choice for first place by the five judges
two of better than 82.000% and a single result of 78.587%
The combination was top placed in the Grand Prix Special at the Paris Olympics to lead Denmark to silver behind Germany
Olympic team mates Daniel Bachmann Andersen on the 13-year-old stallion Vayron and Nanna Skodborg Merrald on the 16-year-old gelding Blue Hors Zepter filled the runner-up and third places in the field of 15 starting combinations
Daniel and Vayron were awarded 75.978% while Nanna and Zepter were at 75.174%

I know that the boys will give it their all from the first minute in the first game,” says head coach Pajovič for oehb.at
Austria's opening clash against Kuwait comes at a good moment following mixed results in their pre-tournament preparations
Austria suffered defeats to Japan and Poland but managed to win against Tunisia
who themselves secured victories over Kuwait (35:34 and 37:31) in their preparations
With the two teams never having faced each other
Austria will need to adapt to Kuwait's aggressive and shiftable defence
this is a return to the World Championship
with their last appearance being in the same country — Croatia in 2009
While Kuwait has never placed higher than 15th
they have also never fallen below 23rd place and if they want to keep it that way
they need to be among the top three teams in the group and avoid the Presidents' Cup
they will have to beat a very familiar foe — Qatar
if they do not surprise against Austria also
Men’s National Team will play in the 2025 IIHF Men’s World Championship in Herning
Team USA will compete against host Denmark
and Switzerland in Group B in the preliminary round at Jyske Bank Boxen in Herning
which will play its preliminary round games at Globe Arena in Stockholm
At the 2024 IIHF Men's World Championship in Ostrava and Prague
finished in fifth place and had a 5-0-1-2 record in its eight games
the U.S. has earned 13 podium finishes
1931) and eight bronze medals (2021
"Now we have to really focus on the Italians
who took a surprisingly clear win against Czechia with a very aggressive defence," Gislason said
The European side’s campaign has been marked by close calls
with two hard-fought draws leaving them on two points carried to the main round and a slim chance of progressing to the quarter-finals
Kiril Lazarov's team wants to get a hold of at least one win in the main round
which would be a great reward for the team and the fans who travelled to Varaždin
Filip Kuzmanovski has emerged as the heart of this young team
showcasing his leadership with 35 goals in four matches
Their solid defence and fast-paced gameplay might just be the combination they need to beat Qatar
who also holds a special spot in the heart of the fans of the European side
reached their first goal by being in the main round
they knew they would have a hard time keeping up with all European opponents
they fought hard and gave their best performance at the competition
their back court players remained their strongholds
with Frankis Marzo and Žarko Marković leading the way
they will fight for the best placement possible
This will mark only the second match between the two sides — their first duel was at the World Championship in 2013 when North Macedonia won 34:30 in the group phase
The Netherlands enter this match with four points and their hopes alive after a dramatic last-second win against Qatar have been boosted
they face the ultimate test against undefeated France
who have been dominant throughout the competition
Guillaume Gille's team has shown incredible depth
with every player contributing throughout the first four matches
making them the second-best attack of the competition
conceding eight goals less per game than the Netherlands
and it's also the starting point for their fast breaks
they are capable of defending a little differently,” said Nedim Rémili
The Dutch players will have to adapt their defensive display against France
they will try to compensate with the attack
The Netherlands are not far away in terms of efficiency in the attack
scoring 36.75 goals per game on average as they rely on their fast-paced play and the brilliance of Luc Steins
who is the competition's top scorer with 37 goals
A win would also see France sail into the quarter-finals
as they would open an unassailable lead in the front of the group
with at least three points ahead of any rival
meaning that they will finish first irrespective of the result of their last match
The Netherlands and France clashed only once at the World Championship — in 1961 when France won 21:11
Their most recent duel at the major competition was at the Men's EHF EURO 2022
while the Netherlands won nine times total across 48 matches between the two
Austria still have everything in their hands following their thrilling draw with Kiril Lazarov’s side in the previous match
Aleš Pajovič's team are sitting in fourth place with three points and will fight to leapfrog Hungary who remained on three points after the loss against France
whose play is still affected by the injuries of Nikola Bylik
fought hard at the World Championship using their main weapon — the seven-against-six attack - to win
especially in one-on-one duels that came in the way of a more steady flow
and they will try to improve on that segment against Hungary and win in their 900th international game
“We came here for exactly these kinds of games - to play in the main round and fight for the quarter-finals,” says Austria's Sebastian Frimmel
who plays for OTP Bank-Pick Szeged and know his opponents very well
“We have a kind of "final" against Austria,” says Hungary's head coach Chema Rodriguez
the match against Austria is of the utmost importance
Losing would mean their quarter-finals chances would be crushed
They suffered a heavy defeat against France
and even their seven-on-six play was not up to the standard
Two two African sides will meet for the first time in the World Championship history
after previously only meeting two times at the CAHB Men’s African Championship
came close to winning in their group phase match against Tunisia
they will look to build on their spirited performance in the last game against Poland
where they stayed competitive for a fair amount of time
the key figure in Algeria's attack will be Ayyoub Abdi
with goalkeeper Khalifa Ghedbane being here as a big support
even though he did not play against Poland
giving more time between the posts to Yahia Zemouchi
Algeria will also need to rely on their defensive set-up against Guinea
especially when it comes to their back shooter aim
their maiden World Championship victory is still a dream they are currently living
and they have good motivation to try and earn it against a familiar opponent
Players like Theo Lebon and Yven Corcher have stepped up against Kuwait
but their biggest stronghold is Tremblay Handball goalkeeper Rubens Pierre
who has been incredible at the competition
collecting 62 saves in four games pr 15,5 saves per game on average
If both sides want to keep their hopes alive of avoiding a duel for the last place
they need to step up and win as both are facing stronger opponents in the last round
In their last two games at the African Championship in 2022
but Algeria hot their revenge and won 27:26 in the fifth placement match
After a somewhat disappointing preliminary round
both teams started their President's Cup campaign with a win
While Poland were off to a convincing win against Algeria
Kuwait had a tougher challenge against Guinea but ultimately won 26:24
The only European side of the President's Cup
will see their lowest World Championship finish ever
but they have made clear they intend to win the consolation round
Their experienced and well-structured team has the upper hand against all three teams in the President's Cup despite not having Arkadiusz Moryto and Kamil Syprzak in their first game against Algeria
“We will definitely have problems with their defence
which is based on an aggressive 3-2-1 formation
It is not a defence we like to play against
so we have to prepare well for it,” says Poland's head coach Marcin Lijewski
Kuwait might not be the favourites to win this match
but they will enter the match with confidence after a dramatic win over Guinea
They have showcased team spirit and fight with Said Aidawani Abdulaziz Alshammari leading the team
playing for the first time on the big stage in 16 years
they have shown they can learn from each experience
This will be the only third clash in history between these two teams – they first met in a friendly game in 1991 when Kuwait won 24:23
but in 2003 at the IHF Men’s World Championship

When asked about this spending, Grieco told Johnson that she didn’t oversee “finances, financial expenses, or spending,” before Thirteen Lune’s recent acquisition by SNR Capital
Plaintiffs also claim that Thirteen Lune completed this acquisition “for the purpose of wiping out [shareholder] equity.” They allege that Thirteen Lune’s net revenue “collapsed,” dropping from roughly $24 million in 2023 to $7 million in 2024
Grieco and other defendants sold Thirteen Lune through an assignment for the benefit of creditors (ABC)
plaintiffs allege that Grieco misrepresented a post-ABC investment opportunity in order “to create a false $10 million valuation,” and concealed financial information from shareholders about the ABC in an effort to erase equity while defendants “acquired Thirteen Lune’s assets without any investment.”

The former marketing executive founded the plus-size luxury e-commerce platform addressing the underserved luxury fashion audience sized 14 and above
RetailersIn 2016, Patrick Herning founded the plus-size luxury e-commerce platform 11 Honoré, which addresses the underserved luxury fashion audience sized 14 and above. The site sells ready-to-wear and contemporary brands in sizes 10 to 20 by designers such as Prabal Gurung , Brandon Maxwell , Christian Siriano, Michael Kors and Zac Posen.
In 2017, Herning and Kathryn Retzer, a long-time friend and former editor at Allure, Vogue and Town & Country, started 11 Honoré. The company raised a seed round led by one of Silicon Valley’s most respected retail investors: Kirsten Green, founder of Forerunner Ventures, which was an early backer of Warby Parker and Glossier. Additional investors include Upfront, Greycroft and Canvas. The company has since raised a total of $8 million.
To make it easier for brands to work with the platform, 11 Honoré offsets the costs of pattern-making and grading for some of the emerging labels on its roster. The company launched with 15 brands and increased to almost 90 brands in 2 years. Herning and Retzer also launched its editorial content, Page 11, and a pop-up in NYC in 2018. Retzer has since left the company.

A win against Italy helped the Germans to secure a quarter-final spot with one main round match to go
And regardless of their result against Tunisia
as the Paris 2024 Olympics runners-up struggled in the first half and led by just two goals (15:13) at the break
but ultimately a good defence and 18 saves from Andreas Woff helped Gislason's team to reach their goal
the German team could not rely on centre back Juri Knorr and left wing Rune Dahmke
and I don't think that they will play in the next match
Rune has a better chance than Juri," Gislason said
The Icelandic coach added that he might rest some of his key players against Tunisia
Germany will be the favourites against the African side
having lost four of their five matches at the tournament
Anouar Ben Abdallah's nine goals did not prevent Tunisia from a 26:32 defeat against Czechia
and while they would like to end the tournament on a high
beating Germany looks like a challenging task
the Germans won all six games against Tunisia at the World Championships
and Gislason's team will be the strong favourites now
The Netherlands may have struggled against France
but Staffan Olsson's team showed determination and strong character
Now sitting in fourth place with four points
the Netherlands must defeat Austria and hope for favourable results in the other two matches - Hungary failing to win against Qatar and France to win their match
The Dutch team's fast-paced and well-structured attack could give them an edge
but their defensive struggles have been a recurring issue at times
are out of the quarter-finals race after a hard-fought 26:29 loss to Hungary
Aleš Pajovič's team are not likely to give up and will be determined to end the competition on a high note
overcoming all the challenges they have faced during the competition
It was a close game and we gave it our all
Now we have one more game and we want to give it our all,” says Austria's head coach Aleš Pajovič
the two sides have not yet met at the World Championship
Austria came out on top in their 2010 qualifications for the world handball flagship competition
Chema Rodiguez's team rallied in their next game against Austria
overcoming some first-half struggles to secure a crucial 29:26 win
Boosted by Kristóf Palasics' performance between the posts
keeping themselves in contention for the quarter-finals
Hungary are determined to leave nothing to chance
knowing a win guarantees their progression
Even a draw would put them among the top eight teams
provided they score at least five goals more than Kiril Lazarov’s side
and coach Rodriguez hopes they will keep it that way
Veselin Vujovic's team failed to find a solution for European teams at this World Championship
conceding four losses and only managing to win against Kuwait
With a team lacking certain aspects in attack
only right back Frankis Marzo kept his side of the bargain
proving once again he is a key player for Qatar
The last time these two teams met was in the 2019 IHF Men’s World Championship when Hungary won by 32:26 in the group phase
With their quarter-final ticket already booked and first place in the group secured
France can afford to approach this match with ease
Guillaume Gille's team remain unbeaten in the competition
showcasing their incredible depth in rotations and maintaining a perfect record
This match offers France the chance to rotate their lineup further
keeping their key players fresh for the knockout stages
Their slim chances for progressing further require a win over France and hope Hungary lose to Qatar and Austria defeats the Netherlands
but they need to hold their advantage in the goals scored department
currently sitting at 127 as opposed to 122
Head coach Kiril Lazarov is aware of the task and its complexity
but his team believe that with good support from the stands and their trademark fighting spirit
even if they do not qualify for the quarter-finals
they still want to have the best possible ranking from this competition
Algeria and Kuwait clash in a decisive match that will determine the econd place in the President's Cup Group I and who will go to the Placement match 27/28
while the loser of the game will fight in the Placement Match 29/30
Both teams currently have one win and one loss
with Algeria holding a slight advantage due to their superior goal difference
even a draw is enough for Algeria to finish second
Algeria enter the game on the back of their confident 32:23 victory against Guinea
Goalkeeper Khalifa Ghedbane has been their standout performer and he could be key to stopping Kuwait's attack
Algeria’s top performer is Ayyoub Abdi and his ability to overcome Kuwait's defence might decide the outcome
especially in their opening stages against stronger opponents
but Kuwait will need to tighten their defence and limit Algeria’s opportunities to score easy goals from their turnovers
This young Kuwait team has already shown resilience in their comeback against Guinea
and they will need another inspired performance to claim a win
Algeria and Kuwait met three times so far at the IHF Men’s World Championship - in 2005
last two games went Algeria's way (26:13 and 34:29)
Guinea are still dreaming about their first win at the World Championship and now face a massive challenge in their final group game against here undefeated Poland
Poland already secured their place at the top and President's Cup Final and for them
this clash will only mean rotation and saving their pride
With two defeats and a -11 goal difference
Guinea is locked into the last place in the group regardless of the result and will play in Placement Match 33/34
they aim to put in a spirited performance and gain new experience against a stronger European opponent
while they will try to surprise with the help of their goalkeeper Rubens Pierre who stopped 70 attempts in five games
Poland have been dominant in the President's Cup
with a perfect record after beating Kuwait and Algeria
Their attacking depth had been on full display even without star players Kamil Syprzak and Arkadiusz Moryto and have the favourites status in this game
just like in two previous ones in the President's Cup
