offering an array of sustainable mobility solutions—electric and biodiesel buses In 2022 Keolis began operating and maintaining the new light rail network in the southern city of Odense, on behalf of Odense Letbane. The 15-year, €230 million contract was awarded to us in November 2018, and the line is expected to carry 10-11 million passengers annually. Previously, we won the operations contract for Denmark’s top light rail network, serving the city of Aarhus and its suburbs. Since 2021, Keolis Danmark has operated and maintained a bus network in the North Jutland region, with most of its 77 vehicles powered by hydrotreated vegetable oil (HVO). The €190 million contract was awarded by Nordjyllands Trafikselskab (NT), northern Denmark’s transport authority. We’re also operating buses for the town of Hinnerup, 10 km north of Aarhus, under a contract running from 2013 to 2025. This network has a fleet of 14 biodiesel buses carrying 80 passengers each. In 2020 and 2022, Keolis won two contracts from Movia, eastern Denmark’s mobility authority. The first was for operating 47 buses—including 32 electric vehicles—serving the largest towns on the island of Zealand. The second was for operating a 28-bus line with 17 electric in the Copenhagen region. In early 2025, we expanded further by acquiring the urban and suburban activities of Danish specialist Anchersen A/S, a key player in green transport in this part of the country. In doing so, we took on its contract business, with 600 employees and 130 vehicles—over 50% of them electric—and a 30,000 sq m bus depot at Hvidovre on the outskirts of Copenhagen. In the north of Denmark, public transport company AOM Nordjyllands Trafikselskab (NT) awarded Keolis a contract to operate a network with 31 electric buses in Aalborg in 2022. And in 2024 it chose us once again, this time to operate and maintain a link between the towns of Fredrikshaven and Aalborg. We have a total workforce of 1,800 in Denmark, where we operate over 400 buses and 2 light rail networks, reflecting our focus on urban and interurban transport. We also have a footprint in Sweden and Norway, where we operate bus networks powered by electricity and biofuel. Example: since 2024 we’ve been active in Greater Stockholm, operating and maintaining an urban and suburban bus network that will ultimately serve 476,000 people with electric and biofuel-powered vehicles. This contract is worth over €600 million.
