giants is a tall order, but Thomas Dambo has managed to hide six in the area around Copenhagen Dambo is an artist who specializes in reclaimed and recycled materials and the Forgotten Giants are no exception to this method created from scrap wood collected from old The sculptures were deliberately placed off the beaten track and each is accompanied by a poem engraved on a nearby stone that gives hints about where it is hidden There is also a “treasure map” of the area on which an “X” marks the spot where each giant can be found Part of the point of the public artwork is to get people out and exploring especially to beautiful places they don’t normally go Dambo also hopes his scrap wood giants will encourage people to recycle Each giant is named after one of the volunteers who helped build it named after one of Dambo's former assistants references homeless people found sleeping in the area where Louis now lies Louis provides shelter for the homeless; the giant structure can be entered through his gaping mouth The coordinates are for Oscar Under the Bridge The rest of the giants are in the surrounding area A map showing the locations of the other five giants can be found on Thomas Lund signed the project for this building combining the components of deconstructivist architecture with the clean forms of functionalism of ancient memory The works owned by the museum are not very numerous: there are about four hundred works there is no shortage of testimonies of international caliber such as the room dedicated to Damien Hirst and Ai Weiwei’s “Circle of Animals / Zodiac Heads” (2010) where you can admire monumental and very significant works should certainly be noted as noteworthy and of great interest the naked man in bronze with the lost gaze on the horizon by Antony Gormley the ironic equestrian statue by Elmgreen & Dragset the two marble blocks by Eva Steen Christensen the red house (but without walls and floating) by Karolin Schwab the phrase engraved in red block letters on an external wall of the museum by Lawrence Weiner the dome built on a hexagonal cell by Olafur Eliasson although the museum is closed due to the ongoing epidemic the “Gold and Magic” Kapoor’s works encourages a rediscovery of the world through the entire body fostering a ‘psyche-soma’ experience — a counterpoint to the digital consumption that dominates modern life Unseen allows are not merely places of function but destinations in themselves — sanctuaries of style Eva was offered the possibility to become Supervisor at the hotel chain's Service Office in Høje Taastrup Already after half a year she decided to go back to the hotel in Ishøj The former receptionist took over the role as Hotel Manager at Zleep Hotel Ishøj at the end of 2018 to the pleasure of Eva herself and to many of her colleagues The promotion happened at the time of Eva's 10-year anniversary at the Danish hotel chain There is no doubt that Eva Larsen's success at the hotel chain is due to a huge passion for hotel operations and service but most of all her will of steel Determination is crucial when new actions are to be implemented and when challenges are to be coped with Slumbering clowns with cheerful hats at rakish angles and glittering The clowns have been created by the Swiss artist Ugo Rondinone and they are the focal point for the star artist’s great solo exhibition Arken’s 150-metre-long Art Axis forms the setting for the exhibition 45 hyperrealistic clowns cast from male and female models make up the installation vocabulary of solitude from 2014 but here they are the opposite: contemplative and passive as they do not meet our intuitive expectations of the funny clown They are merely human beings who have just stepped out of their roles and their clown shoes; or are on their way into their roles and are just about to tie their shoelaces – captured in a peaceful moment before the show begins a person who is passionately in love with the visual vocabulary of solitude is a portrait of a single person’s day represented in 45 acts They are individually titled in the present tense: be Each passive clown is a stand-in for one of these actions Together they form an endless 24-hour loop Ugo Rondinone’s work oscillates between the romantic outlook of the natural world and the existential introspection of the inner world He plays on our intuitive and impulsive recognition of motifs like a clown The rainbow in particular primarily signals beauty In addition the rainbow tells a fundamental political story of personal freedom as the symbol par excellence of the LGBT+ milieu and the rights of homosexuals solid message is that you are free to love the one you love universal human right that may be taken for granted in Denmark which is generally known as the world’s first country to introduce civil marriages for homosexuals so there are still freedom struggles to be fought The rainbow speaks a global visual language that inspires empathy I believe in the spiritual and magical power of art The exhibition has been created in close collaboration with Ugo Rondinone The artist has meticulously placed every single work in a flow that invites the visitor on a walk through an animated dreamscape In addition to vocabulary of solitude the exhibition includes several large-scale signature works such as wind moon from 2011: a six-metre tall aluminium tree coated in white enamel cast from a 2000 year old olive tree Another extensive work in the show is the site-specific window installation love invents us from 1999 which illuminates the Art Axis in all the colours of the rainbow The intensity of the work is dependent on the rhythm of the day and the effect will be strongest around mid-day The vibrant painting achtundzwanzigsterjunizweitausendundsechzehn from 2016 is also painted in all the colours of the rainbow Created with an airbrush technique the piece causes an optical effect making the painting dance before your eyes the open from 2014 is a blind window at once reflecting the viewer and offering a gaze into a blue void the exhibition includes the subtle work calm from 2006 a pair of ragged clown shoes emphasizing the tension between show time and closing time The exhibition is made in collaboration with Ugo Rondinone and Frahm & Frahm A successful art work is not about something; it is that something itself With few resources Rondinone stages well known figures and symbols in displaced ways He works with very different materials and media and is internationally recognized for his immersive installations dynamic artist who also works as a curator alongside his artistic practice Common to all his works is the way they speak to both heart and mind His practice focuses on man’s relation with nature and the human condition He has been living and working in New York since 1999 The Ring 3 is a proposed light rail project in the Greater Copenhagen area The dual-track light rail proposed light rail addresses the situation by running across all the five fingers outside Copenhagen and linking a number of lines in the existing radial S-train urban rail network The new rail route will include 27km of double track alignment with 27 stations It will start from Lundtofte station in the north and follow the route of the Ring 3 Motorway Road touching municipalities including Lyngby-Taarbæk The trains will stop at six S-train stations two hospitals and the Technical University of Denmark The stations will be approximately 1km apart The light rail will be integrated into the road system and run parallel to the existing roads It will receive power from overhead wires suspended from masts The rolling stock will comprise 27 light rail vehicles and have a capacity of up to 230 passengers each The construction of light rail at Ring 3 is scheduled to be executed in four phases over a period of eight years which was followed by a principle agreement between the state Capital Region of Denmark and the 11 municipalities in 2013 to establish a light rail Ot is expected to take approximately three years following which a final decision will be taken regarding the construction of the project Phase III includes the construction of the light rail It is scheduled for completion in four years Phase IV involves the completion of preparations for passenger operations Ring 3 Light Rail I/S has selected four teams of consultants for the execution of the project SYSTRA and Tetra Plan will be responsible for roads utility relocations and other preparatory works.Ramboll Denmark will be responsible for the preparation of the EIA report and the associated technical assessments Aarhus Light Rail Project has been under construction since 2013 The joint venture of Ramboll Denmark and Arup was contracted to prepare the conceptual design and subsequent tender for the rail infrastructure, rolling stock maintenance centre and operation and maintenance of the plant TTK and Mott MacDonald are the subcontractors for the project A team consisting of Gottlieb Paludan Architects and subconsultants GBH Landscape Architects Kontrapunkt and COWI will be responsible for station design and landscape integration The Copenhagen Ring 3 light rail project is being jointly commissioned by 13 owners The project cost is divided between the 13 parties The new modes of expression and artistic approaches to explore.  takes on more staff and undergoes yet another redeployment caused by organizational growth To handle the Director of Operations position and thus 11 hotels the hotel chain has chosen to split the position in two The two-part position supports the organization's sustainable development ensuring the successful journey to continue To manage the position is Birgitte Nørgaard There are several reasons why Zleep Hotels has chosen to create a two-part position. First of all, the hotel chain is experiencing massive growth, increasing the need for resources and staff in both management and operation Birgitte Nørgaard has assumed responsibility for the hotels in Zealand She entered Zleep Hotels February the 1st with a solid service and hotel experience most recently as Key Account Manager at ISS Facility Services Copenhagen Island as both Front Office Manager Luminous mountains and lonely moons enter ARKEN in the summer of 2022 as we present a major exhibition of Else Alfelt’s work focusing on her ability to evoke a sense of intimacy The exhibition showcases a fascinating life’s work full of inner and outer landscapes that capture the human quest for immersion and harmony in an often chaotic world Created in close collaboration with the Carl-Henning Pedersen & Else Alfelts Museum the show is the artist’s first retrospective for the last 20 years Else Alfelt was active during times of great upheaval She was a child during the First World War and made a name for herself as an artist in the 1930s and 40s achieving her international breakthrough at a point in time where many pressing existential questions for humanity were on the agenda The world wars prompted keen self-scrutiny and a need for reconstruction and art had to be operative for the individual human being Alfelt created a light-filled and colourful world that invites us into nature’s undulating and jagged forms and out into the cosmos and today we could certainly use some of the healing radiating from her works Else Alfelt’s imagery is full of recurring figures such as sharp points spirals and circles that direct one’s thoughts towards mountains crystals and cosmic celestial bodies – not least the moon These elements reflect her own sensuous encounters with nature imbued with a strong sense of immediacy and presence.  The first major Else Alfelt exhibition in more than 20 years is now on show at ARKEN Museum of Modern Art In Circus Europa the audience is taken on a sensational journey through a broad palette of new artworks Here we experience Kvium’s well known imagery in a theatrical universe that both hearkens back to his early work in performance and film in the 1980s and consists of completely new media sculptures and installations set the scene for a tale about Europe Through Circus Europa Kvium sheds light on our current situation and the ongoing changes in Europe The exhibition focuses on issues of tourism At the heart of Circus Europa are questions of European identity and community in a time when fear xenophobia and hostility grow stronger and divide us our daily lives continue – the show must go on Kvium depicts a world of entertainment where even the most serious news is marked by sensation and drama Kvium portrays the political scene and our daily lives as one big circus act The artist is like a court jester who can tell the truth without necessarily being held responsible for it We step into Circus Europa as a comfortable and easy-going audience but the dramatic installations envelop us and draw us in before we notice it We become part of a story of Europe that begins with seductive tricks and entertainment and develops into disturbing dystopia Tragicomic circus artistes entertain us with silly and morbid tricks Through sharp irony and coarse humour Kvium exposes the absurdities in our society The circus artistes perform for us and insistently confront us in the middle of the buffoonery and madness where he asks us: What role do we play in the Circus Europa An exhibition is not supposed to provide answers It should confront us with questions that we ourselves must reflect upon 1955) made his breakthrough on the art scene in the 1980s as part of the performance group Værst Since then his signature media has been painting Throughout his career he has addressed the existential themes of being human through his characteristic figurative imagery Kvium has also done stage design for the theatre and exhibited all over the World it is not clear from the press release whether it is a purchase of the club or not Iniesta and NSN have teamed up with the investment company prodigy From 93 of their best-known paintings from Skagen and from the many letters they sent to each other discussions and unbreakable friendship of these two artists Each honed his attitudes in the encounter with the other Ancher and Krøyer were among the key artists in the modern breakthrough of Danish art and today their works are well-known national treasures The exhibition adds new insight into the painters’ friendship In February 2023, artist Refik Anadol’s breathtaking installations will fill ARKEN’s largest exhibition space With the exhibition Refik Anadol – Nature Dreams the museum ventures deep into the digital realm of art Come explore an art form that has just begun to gain traction with the general public and is developing at lightning speed 1985 in Turkey) is one of the leading artists globally within the realm of digital art Engaging the audience’s senses to great and appealing effect his huge installations are the result of his work with artificial intelligence in the form of data-driven algorithms Refik Anadol’s works arise out of a genuine collaboration between man and machine The works raise philosophical questions which point to a future where human existence is inextricably linked to data and advanced computer technology – to an even greater extent than today Refik Anadol will present three works at ARKEN one of them created especially for this exhibition all three take their point of departure in mass media’s visual presentation of nature which affect our shared ideas about what nature is and what it looks like this data is transformed into completely new partially abstract depictions of nature that the human brain cannot even imagine on its own Visitors can look forward to a unique sensory experience in this encounter between art and digital technology which already permeates every aspect of our everyday lives Google engineer Alexander Mordvintsec created DeepDream a computer vision programme that uses a deep convolutional neural network (DCNN).. Digital art is developing at immense speed these years and one of the main pioneers within the field is Turkish artist Refik Anadol Simon Fujiwara’s work Joanne depicts the many faces of his former teacher who became the victim of a tabloid newspaper scandal after students discovered and circulated topless photographs of her “I feel like I’m cheating if I say: I am a model I am a fighter… I am a person… I am a female.”– Joanne Over the past decade Simon Fujiwara has become known for his staging of large complex exhibitions that explore the deeply rooted mechanisms of identity construction for both individuals and societies his thought-provoking work Joanne is on show for the first time in Denmark at ARKEN Simon Fujiwara’s film Joanne depicts the many faces of Joanne Simon Fujiwara’s former secondary school teacher Joanne combines a series of free-standing structures: one that includes in-built LED screens on which the video Joanne is shown on one side and a photograph on the other and two large free-standing lightboxes with images on both sides The subject of both the larger-than-life photographs and the film is Joanne Salley a former art teacher of Simon Fujiwara from 2000 to 2002 Winner of the 1998 Miss Northern Ireland beauty pageant Joanne had a formative influence on Fujiwara as a scholarship student at the prestigious Harrow School for boys in Britain Joanne became the victim of a tabloid newspaper scandal after students discovered and circulated topless photographs of her that had been taken privately The ongoing media campaign that followed destroyed her career and public image According to the forecaster sea levels will be between 1.7m and 2m higher than normal between Friday afternoon and Saturday morning in the worst affected area which stretches from the South Funen Archipelago up into the Little Belt strait between Funen and Jutland taking sea levels to between 1.4m and 1.8m higher than normal "The weather situation is very serious, especially because it's going to blow for so long from an easterly direction and it is unusual for it to blow from that direction for so long," Jesper Eriksen, meteorologist on duty at DMI, told public broadcaster DR "Because we are coming up against a stormy gale A level-three warning is the most serious in DMI's three-point scale and signifies "very hazardous" weather with people in affected areas advised to "be prepared that there is a high risk that weather developments may affect you and your surroundings and disrupt the functions of society."  The forecaster has also issued level 1 warnings for high winds across eastern and southern Denmark Lolland-Falster and the South Funen Archipelago Ghanaian defender Joseph Kinful has officially signed with Danish 2nd Division club Ishøj IF marking a significant milestone for the newly-promoted third-tier side The announcement was made via the club’s social media platforms celebrating Kinful as their first official signing in history who previously attracted interest from Spanish club Real Zaragoza joins Ishøj IF after a successful stint with Ghanaian top-flight team Bechem United The club expressed their excitement about Kinful’s arrival “We are incredibly proud to present our latest signing—Joseph Kinful He is a strong and experienced player coming directly from Ghana’s top tier Kinful is known for his impressive physicality and speed bringing strong duel play and aerial dominance to the defense The club highlighted his contributions to Ghana’s national league underscoring his quality and potential as a key addition to their squad Ishøj IF believes Kinful’s experience from the Ghanaian top league will significantly benefit the team “He is hungry for success and ready to take the next step in his career here in Ishøj IF,” the club added Fans will have the chance to see Kinful in action as he has been included in the squad for today’s match against Sønderjyske “We look forward to an exciting future with Joseph Kinful in our defense and we are convinced that he will play a crucial role in the club’s future success © 2013 - [current_year]  | SportsWorldGhana | All rights reserved
