Like two Wild West gunslingers, the pair of American paddlers are locked in a do-or-die dance heading into a final series of four races at RIVERSPORT OKC.
Lokken claimed victory in the first round of trials races held in Montgomery, Alabama. However, Eichfeld has an ace up his sleeve. He finished with the better result of the pair at last year’s world championships, which acts as the tiebreaker should he best Lokken in Oklahoma City.
With only four races standing between both paddlers and a trip to Paris, an unpredictable sport held on tumultuous rapids becomes all the more nerve-wracking.

His reign over men’s canoe in the United States was prosperous
He finished fourth at the world championships in 2015
won a pair of gold medals at the Pan American Games
made two finals at Rio 2016 and won a World Cup medal in 2016
He also reigned as national champion from 2015 to 2019
The hobby turned career represented a new chapter for the experienced paddler
but it definitely wasn’t the only change happening in his life
he went from experienced paddler to novice dad
He spent the last two years splitting his life between woodworking

Lokken is a few years younger than his rival, but that’s nothing to sweat for a paddler who made his world championships debut at fifteen years old. In fact, Lokken embraces his relative youth, employing the nickname, “bug,” which he’s held since childhood.
After paddling in the wake of his teammate for a few years, Lokken flipped the script. He won the 2019 U.S Team Trials, and followed that up with a gold medal of his own at the 2019 Pan American Games.
During the pandemic, he turned to ashtanga vinyasa yoga due to its emphasis on breathing, tranquility and strength. It certainly didn’t hurt his paddling.
He won his second team trials in 2021, which guaranteed him a spot at Tokyo 2020. He made the final and finished seventh in his Olympic debut.
He continued to build momentum following the Games in Japan, winning his first-ever World Cup medal last season, and successfully defending his Pan American Games title.
While he may have entered canoe slalom as the “bug,” he’s become more of a shark on the river.

If the Ancient Greek belief in fate had a real-life equivalent
it might very well be the showdown between Eichfeld and Lokken
They both trained under coach Rafal Smolen
The pair’s best World Cup result happened on the same course in Tacen
where they both won a bronze medal seven years apart
they share an Olympic best result of seventh place
From their initiation into the sport at such a young age to long and decorated international careers
perhaps their paths were always meant to cross at such a pivotal moment

(CSE: TMIN) (the "Company" or "Teako") is pleased to announce that it has commenced a maiden diamond drill program on part of its district-scale Løkken copper-cobalt-zinc ("Cu-Co-Zn") project in central Norway
Initial drilling will focus on the Åmot massive sulfide ("VMS") target which lie immediately to the east of the former mining operations at the world-class Løkken copper-rich VMS deposit
The Åmot target is the first of five priority target areas defined within the Løkken concessions in which the Company acquired a 90% ownership interest from Capella Minerals Ltd
2024 (see Company News Release dated August 19
The drill program will consist of a minimum of 580 meters and test the Åmot target
a copper-cobalt-zinc target located 5km East of the former Løkken mining operations and the first of many targets to be tested on the district scale project
Åmot is hosted within stratigraphy considered favourable for the discovery of further Løkken-type VMS deposits
The primary target is a large (up to 2km in length) coincident electromagnetic (EM)
which together represent a highly favourable combination for a buried VMS deposit (see Figure 1)
The Åmot target is interpreted by the Company from a Maxwell plate modelling exercise of geophysical data to lie approximately 44.1m to 140.3m below the surface and has never been drill-tested
the Company has been granted an eleven (11) day extension (until April 11
2025) to its drill permit at the Høydal target
Drilling at this target will be subject to available time and weather

The part of the district scale Løkken project in which the Åmot target is situated covers an area of 114 sq
compliments Teako's 100% Løkken claims
and surrounds the former Løkken underground copper mine
which closed in 1986 in response to low copper prices
The former Løkken mine is considered to be one of the largest ophiolite-hosted Cyprus-type VMS deposits (by tonnage) to have been developed in the world
producing an estimated 24Mt @ 2.3% Cu and 1.9% Zn (plus silver and gold credits)1,2
The former Løkken mine is a stratiform massive sulfide deposit characterized by its impressive dimensions - approximately 4 km in length
Its rich mineral composition predominantly consisted of chalcopyrite
The Løkken deposit was discovered from a subtle massive sulfide outcrop
The 90% owned Løkken claim block covers a significant portion of the old Løkken mine infrastructure (shafts
in addition to multiple satellite occurrences of copper-rich VMS mineralization with varying degrees of development
Given the geological propensity of these deposits to occur in clusters
Teako believes there is a high likelihood of additional undiscovered deposits within the district

VANCOUVER, BC, March 20, 2025 /CNW/ - Capella Minerals Ltd (TSXV: CMIL) (OTCQB: CMILF) (FRA: N7D2) ("Capella" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that Teako Minerals Corp
the Company's strategic partner at the expanded Løkken copper-cobalt-zinc ("Cu-Co-Zn") massive sulfide ("VMS") project in Trøndelag Province
has initiated a scout diamond drill program at the Åmot Cu-Co-Zn target
The Åmot target is a 2km-long "buried" VMS target hosted within favourable stratigraphy for VMS-type deposits and located just 5km E of the former Løkken copper mining operations
The Åmot target was discovered through recent systematic exploration and has never been drill tested
Capella announced a strategic partnership with Teako at the Løkken project in Q3
2024 through the combination of Capella's exploration concessions around the former Løkken mine with Teako's regional-scale exploration concessions along the Løkken trend (see Company News Release dated August 19
Capella retains direct project-level participation (a non-dilutable 10% carried interest to production) on any discoveries made within the former Capella concessions
plus indirect exposure to discovery upside through its shareholding in Teako
The Åmot program currently contemplates the drilling of a minimum of 580 meters to test a "buried" Cu-Co-Zn target located 5km E of the former Løkken mining operations (and the first of a number of targets to be tested within the district-scale Løkken project)
Åmot is hosted within stratigraphy considered favourable for the discovery of new Løkken-type VMS deposits
and the main target is a large (up to 2km in length) coincident geophysical (electromagnetic and ground magnetic) and geochemical anomaly which together represent a highly favourable combination for "buried" VMS deposits
The Åmot target is interpreted by both Teako and Capella from Maxwell plate modelling of geophysical data to lie approximately 44m to 140m below the surface
The Company's previously announced (December 3
2024) non-brokered private placement of up to 15,000,000 units ("Units") at $0.05 per share is still ongoing. Each Unit consisting of one common share and one-half of a share purchase warrant
each whole warrant entitling the holder to acquire an additional common share at a price of $0.10 per share for a period of two years from the date of issuance. The Company remains in discussions with potential investors and is working diligently towards closing this financing as soon as practically possible.
The Løkken VMS district in central Norway lies within the so-called Caledonian orogeny
which is interpreted to have extended from the productive VMS districts in NE Canada (Bathurst Mining Camp
Newfoundland) and the Appalachian US to northern Norway
Mineralization at Løkken is hosted by a sequence of Ordovician-age meta-basalts (mixed pillow and massive basalts) within an overturned ophiolite sequence.
The former Løkken Mine closed in the mid-1980's in response to low copper prices and produced a reported 24MT @ 2.3% Cu plus 1.9% Zn (with minor Co
The Løkken mine was a stratiform massive sulfide deposit which measured approximately 4km in length
Mineralization consisted of massive chalcopyrite
The combined land holding of the Capella-Teako partnership covers a total area of 1,039 sq
km of concessions originally held by Capella around the former Lokken mine (and now owned 90% by Teako) together with the 925 sq
km of concessions held 100% by Teako along strike within favourable stratigraphy
Given that VMS deposits typically occur in clusters – and combined with the lack of systematic regional exploration throughout much of the land package – considerable potential exists for the discovery of new Løkken-type deposits within the broader district
plus indirect exposure to discovery on the combined land holding upside through its significant shareholding in Teako

VANCOUVER, BC, Aug. 19, 2024 /CNW/ - Capella Minerals Ltd (TSXV: CMIL) (OTCQB: CMILF) (FRA: N7D2) ("Capella" or the "Company") is pleased to announce that it has executed a Definitive Acquisition Agreement (the "Agreement") with Teako Minerals Corp
(CSE: TMIN) ("Teako") pursuant to which Teako will acquire a 90% interest in Capella's high-grade Løkken copper-cobalt-zinc ("Cu-Co-Zn") project in Trøndelag
Capella will receive a combination of cash and common shares in Teako within two weeks of signing
a firm commitment by Teako to carrying out drilling on the Åmot target and bringing additional Cu-Co-Zn targets to drill-ready status
with Capella retaining a non-dilutable 10% carried interest on the Løkken project through to commercial production.
km and contains the past-producing Løkken copper-zinc mining operation
the largest Cyprus-type massive sulfide ("VMS") deposit known globally with reported past production of 24MT @ 2.3% Cu + 1.9% Zn1)
the Løkken project contains the drill-ready Åmot VMS target and multiple satellite target areas with the potential for further Løkken-type VMS discoveries (see Company News Release dated July 22
Key terms of the Agreement under which Teako will acquire a 90% interest in the Løkken project include:
i) Capella to receive $C 350,000 in cash and 2,500,000 common Teako shares on or before August 30
ii) Teako to commit to drilling the Åmot target with new funds raised within twelve months of signing the Agreement
in addition to advancing at least two further targets to drill-ready status within 24 months from signing
iii) Teako to pay Capella a further $C 1,250,000 upon a Final Investment Decision ("FID") being made to proceed to the construction of a mine within the Løkken project
iv) Capella to retain a 10% carried interest to production
on any discovery made within the Løkken project
v) Teako to keep the property in good standing and to make all annual advanced royalty payments to EMX Royalty Corporation ("EMX") starting 30 September
vi) Customary tag along / drag along rights
with Capella maintaining at all times a Right of First Refusal ("ROFR") on any bona fide third-party offer received for Teako's interest in the Løkken project
In the event that Teako makes a Final Investment Decision to proceed with commercial production
Capella and Teako will then enter into a Joint Venture Agreement ("JV Agreement")
Capella will not be required to make any contributions to the mine capital costs until commercial production commences (at which time Capella will be required to payback its share of capital costs by netting out 25% of the amount of any distribution to Capella until such amounts are recovered)
Should the mine close prior to final repayment
the balance outstanding payable by Capella will be forgiven clear of any further obligations
we are very pleased to be announcing this Agreement with Teako
which will allow the Løkken project to advance through further exploration and drilling – including at the drill-ready Åmot target – in addition to creating a significant district-scale exploration and development project through the combination of Løkken with Teako's adjacent Lomunda and Venna projects
Capella shareholders also retain a direct interest in any discovery at Løkken all the way through to production
and also benefit from exploration success by Teako – both within the Løkken district and elsewhere throughout Norway – through our Teako shareholding which will now total 3,500,000 common Teako shares
Capella looks forward to working together with Teako's technical / management team
with whom a solid relationship has already been built through joint efforts at the Vaddas-Birtavarre project in northern Norway
in order to ensure success for all parties at Løkken
I do look forward to keeping the market updated as our exploration programs advance"
About the Combined Løkken and Lomunda-Venna Projects
Capella's Løkken project covers an area of 114 sq
km and includes the former mining operations at Løkken
Copper production from the former Løkken mine ceased in 1986 in response to low metals prices
thereby leaving potential for new high-grade VMS discoveries in both extensions to the original Løkken mine and in satellite bodies
The main host rocks to mineralization at Løkken are pillow basalts and gabbro; similar lithologies follow a broadly SW-NE regional trend and have been covered by Teako's Lomunda and Venna claims (Figure 1).
Capella's exploration activities have identified 5 priority target areas located in the immediately vicinity of the former Løkken mine (Figure 2)
These targets include the previously-undrilled Åmot target
which is located approximately 5km E of the former Løkken mining operations and defined by coincident ground magnetic
and soil geochemical anomalies (all favourable indicators for VMS deposits)
The Company interprets the Åmot target from geophysical data to lie approximately 150m vertically below surface
The technical information in this news release relating to the Løkken project has been prepared in accordance with Canadian regulatory requirements set out in NI 43-101
Roth has 35 years of experience in international minerals exploration and mining project evaluation

just sort of consciously dealing with being a diabetic,” said Lokken
“I had my head in the sand for probably 20 years
I didn’t want to be known as Rhonda the diabetic and I didn’t want that always associated with me
That’s where Diaz comes in. A nutrition specialist at Sanford Bemidji
