The company says that production will be consolidated at the group’s factories in Skanderborg, Sønderborg, and Rayong, Thailand. The decision was made to optimise overall production capacity, according to a press release, while also strengthening the company’s long-term competitiveness and financial strength.
“We have great understanding that this decision has a significant impact on our employees,” says Troels Hornsved, CEO of ETK, in the press release. Negotiations with the employees have begun, and we are working closely with relevant parties to ensure the best possible process.
There are currently seventeen employees working at ETK Næstved.
ETK says that they are working to ensure a smooth transition during the period of moving production to other ETK production units.

the new death metal band featuring VOLBEAT's Michael Poulsen
ex-MORGOTH) and Morten Toft Hansen (RAUNCHY),played the final concert of its 2024 run of shows on August 31 at the Næstved Metalfest in Næstved
Fan-filmed video of the performance can be seen below
Grewe has since taken to his social media to write: "Our show in Næstved marked the last show of the ASINHELL'Impii Hora' touring activities…
Morten and Michael for an incredible ride throughout the last months
as well as our incredibly professional and hard-working crew
who made these last 3 months such a smooth and memorable experience…
"Only one year ago nobody would have thought that this would actually happen
as ASINHELL wasn't initially meant to be a touring band… but YOU… the fans and OSDM supporters made it actually possible…very humbled and thankful for that…I am pretty sure we'll meet again"
ASINHELL made its live debut on May 30 at Pumphuset in Copenhagen
Næstved Metalfest was the final show of ASINHELL's European tour in support of the band's debut album
which arrived in September 2023 via Metal Blade
The trek included festivals as well as intimate club shows
Joining ASINHELL on the road were legendary Danish producer Jacob Hansen (ex-INVOCATOR) on bass as well as Flemming C
making the band's first live incarnation the same lineup that performed on "Impii Hora"
Poulsen said in a statement: "It's time to bring the ASINHELL show to live (life)
Can't wait to go out and share the metal and horns with you all
Added Grewe: "ASINHELL was never planned as a live band
but after the overwhelming reactions to our debut album
we all had the same impulse: 'we have to bring the songs to the stage!' So here we are
and it's going to be fantastic to be sharing the stage with my good friends Michael
and it will be an honor for me to unfold the power of our songs full throttle in smaller clubs as well as the biggest festival stages I never dared to dream of playing… I really hope to meet a lot of you guys out there in June and enjoy a good dose of OSDM together… see ya in the pit!"
Morten Toft Hansen said: "I am excited to get out there and play the songs live
I'm sure the shows are gonna be full of fun and energy and it's gonna be great to meet some of our new fans out there."
vocalist/guitarist Poulsen has been spearheading Danish rock and roll machine VOLBEAT
When Poulsen was putting together songs for VOLBEAT's 2021 album "Servant Of The Mind"
he wrote a bunch of death metal riffs and saved them on his phone
he reopened the rusty gates to Armageddon and started putting together songs for "Impii Hora"
which is a tribute to Poulsen's favorite old-school groups
The songs are rooted in crushing riffs yet injected with strong guitar hooks and shout-along refrains
While Poulsen sings in VOLBEAT and sang for DOMINUS
ex-MORGOTH singer Marc Grewe (also of INSIDIOUS DISEASE) and invited him to join the party
In a recent interview with Shawn of "The Rockstar Radio Show" on 96.3 The Blaze
Poulsen stated about how the idea for ASINHELL came about: "As you probably know
I had a band called DOMINUS and we managed to release four albums on a Danish little label back in the day
it goes way back to where I was tape trading in 1990s
So it's been a lot of inspiration since then
it kind of goes like 33 years back to where I started
I was very early out playing death metal — yeah
I think I started playing death metal when I was 16
and I started listening to extreme metal when I was about 13
So that kind of music has been there from the very beginning as a young kid
it was because the journey I was going into was a style of a lot of different styles that I couldn't combine in the death metal music
So I formed VOLBEAT where there was not so much rules about what you could do or what you could not do
it definitely takes you back to all the stuff that I was
as a young boy discovering extreme metal."
people have been asking me when I'm gonna return to death metal
'I have no idea,' because the time that I'm using on VOLBEAT
We are constantly on the road and we are writing and being in the studio
So it was very difficult for me to answer a question like that
But when the pandemic came and I wrote [the] 'Servant Of The Mind' [album] for VOLBEAT
there were other riffs that came up where I said
'Those riffs I'll put aside and keep them for another project when there was time for doing that
and that was kind of a tribute to ENTOMBED and my good friend L.G
I was somewhere in a supermarket at the register paying for my groceries
so I never pick up my phone during the night
And we kind of just then dedicated the VOLBEAT song 'Becoming' to L.G
and we put on this amazing BOSS pedal that makes this ugly
And I told my guitar tech if he could find that pedal and then order it on the net and then I would probably start maybe working on some riffs
I was about to take my morning run and my iPod
but I quickly find out there was another band by that name
what do I do now?' So I changed it to as ASINHELL."
As for how he recruited his ASINHELL bandmates
ex-MORGOTH singer Marc Grewe (also of INSIDIOUS DISEASE) and RAUNCHY drummer Morten Toft Hansen
and I live 10 minutes away from my drummer Morten
and they are hanging out together and having a good time
he's active in his own band called RAUNCHY
And I kindly asked him if he wants to put some drums on a death metal project I had in mind
'Right here where we are standing.' And he said
17 years old again.' We didn't have money for expensive rehearsal rooms or anything that we have now
'Let me just bring an amp and I'll turn it all to 11
I've got songs at home.' And it turned out that every Friday me and Morten would be jamming for two hours
and suddenly we were just looking at each other
we actually have songs for a whole album here.' And I ended up calling my good friend up
which was the former singer of legendary German [band] MORGOTH
I always thought that Marc had the best death metal voice in the scene
And for many years we talked about doing something together when the time was right
Let's get to it.' I did some demo vocals on some of the recordings
'How do you want me to record?' [And he said]
just put your phone in the garage and press 'record' and then send it to me on your phone.' I said
it's gonna sound like a fucking mess.' [And he said]
That's how it should be like.' [Laughs] He said
'That's how we did it back in the day with MORGOTH
a tape recorder in the rehearsal room and just pushed 'record' when we did rehearsal recordings.' [And I said]
Then that's how we're gonna do it.' So me and Morten made a lot of noise in that garage and I was putting down some demo vocals [for] Marc to get some inspiration
So I was just screaming and yelling down in my phone
We could even release it like that.' [And I was
two other guest musicians appear on the "Impii Hora"
both of whom will be familiar to fans of VOLBEAT
Let's do it different.' And so we just asked Jacob if he was into it
I would love to.' So very quickly Jacob put down the bass
And I've been knowing Jacob since the INVOCATOR days
having a great lineup with Marc from MORGOTH and Jacob from INVOCATOR
'Since we have this huge inspiration from DEATH
I knew Flemming from back in the days when I had that DOMINUS band
So I checked Flemming out and his solos in THE ARCANE ORDER
And I gave Flemming a call and I asked him kindly if he was into it
And he totally understood where we were going with this
Michael was equally excited to get ASINHELL's debut LP released via Metal Blade
a label which has consistently been at the forefront of the metal scene
from releasing the earliest material from METALLICA and SLAYER on the classic "Metal Massacre" compilations through to seminal releases from CANNIBAL CORPSE
'I would love to actually release this.' And for me
"The legendary Brian Slagel from Metal Blade — we all know the story
tape trading and trying to get a record deal
actually then ending up on Metal Blade with a new project called ASINHELL
So I'm very excited about it and very proud of the record."
🔥Our show in Næstved marked the last show of the Asinhell „Impii Hora“ touring activities…I would like to thank my..

It’s no secret that Næstved Metalfest is growing
This is clearly backed up by the interest and ticket sales for Næstved Metalfest 2024
With today’s announcement of this year’s headliner – Norwegian legends SATYRICON – the festival can now be labeled as Denmark’s largest independent metal festival
and throughout time has managed to stay relevant and contemporary
From pure black metal to several alternative takes on extreme metal and most recently an ambitious album with music based on the paintings and art of the countryman Munch
When SATYRICON visits the big Open Air stage in Næstved in August
it will be the only concert in Denmark in 2024 and we look forward to singing along to hits like ¨”K.I.N.G”
“Mother North” and “Dark Medieval Times”
we offer a good handful of additional bands on the poster
It is important for Næstved Metalfest to show a wide musical spectrum and book bands that the other festivals do not have on their program
it is a minor victory to be able to welcome the classic
and which has not played in Denmark in almost a lifetime
The same applies in the more extreme part of the metal genre
where the Swedish death-metal pioneers CENTINEX
who played over 100 concerts in 2023 alone
And from the national latitudes comes the melo-death veterans VANIR to visit Næstved Metalfest for the first time since the festival was first held in 2019
we welcome progressive metal from ADVOCACY and death-thrash from AVARICE
This year’s party feature comes from RED WARSZAWA
who have promised to make a performance out of the ordinary
Ticket sales here billetto.dk/e/naestved-metalfest-2024-billetter-868552
and various package solutions with t-shirts and drinks
The final names for Næstved Metalfest 2024 are expected to be published in March

If you're moving to Denmark and have the luxury of being able to choose where to live
You could have your big city needs scratched in Copenhagen
live off organic produce on the island of Samsø
take things slowly in a rural town like Ebeltoft or feel the force of history in Ribe
We wanted to hear from our readers on the best places to live as a foreigner in Denmark
Copenhagen is the city where you're most likely to encounter a foreigner in terms of pure numbers -- but is it also the most highly-rated
The short answer to this is yes -- but only just
in which 4 people chose Copenhagen as their answer (and one said Frederiksberg and another Østerbro
so you could group them together if you want to and make 6)
Aarhus and Aalborg were close behind though
with four and three people voting for them
Næstved and Randers got a vote each and one answer was illegible
We'll start with the case for the smaller cities
Næstved has a "thriving international community
the great belt bridge and eventually the tunnel to Germany - all with sensible property prices," said Rich Hanrahan
"Even Barack Obama and now Venus Williams had to visit!," he added in referral to appearances by the two to give talks in the city
Foreign nationals in Næstved are encouraged by Rich to "get involved in local life and join Internationals in Næstved."
Raymond Kassah is a Ghanaian who has lived in Randers for seven years and works as head chef in a restaurant in Skanderborg
Randers is "a very diverse city which is also close to Aarhus
the rain forest and a vibrant night life as well," he said
"Foreigners wishing to move to Randers should be aware of the fact that a lot of people will say negative things regarding this city but it is the opposite," Raymond said
yes but now Randers is one of the most safe
Rent is also very cheap compared to other cities," he noted
a pharmaceutical professional who works in the city
The hometown of author Hans Christian Andersen is a "laid back
very friendly city" with an "easy going vibe," he said
Wes advised newcomers to Odense to "start learning Danish
Northern city Aalborg is a good option as a "smaller city that has everything" and for its "very friendly residents" one contributor wrote
while another mentioned its international university as a plus
Put your kids in the international school," she advised
a Brazilian working at the Computer Science Dept at Aarhus University
While he backed Aarhus as a great place to live as a foreigner
Diego said you should "brace for impact in terms of housing prices."
READ ALSO: Working in Denmark: What’s considered a good salary in Aarhus
said the town has a "medium city vibe but very approachable"
an Italian resident said it has "kind people and excellent services"
A fourth reader who voted for Aarhus cited its proximity to nature
with forests and beach both in cycling distance of the centre
among many of the plus points pointed out by readers who filled in our survey
There are "more job opportunities in Copenhagen"
The district of Østerbro is "family friendly
close to just about everywhere," wrote Nana
You "won't regret" choosing this district of the many Copenhagen has to offer

Vejke Boldklub’s 3-1 win over Naestved was a result that allowed the side to clinch the Danish First Division title
the second division behind the Super League.ST
Miiko Albornoz opened the scoring in the 14th minute
followed by goals from teammates Saeid Ezatolahi (52′) and Arbnor Mucolli
The only consolation for Naestved was from Frederik Christensen in the 59th minute
Vejke had confirmed promotion to the Danish Superliga earlier and has now taken the NordicBet Liga title by adding 63 points versus the 55 of his pursuer Hvidovre
DENMARK – Not every road to a destination is straight forward
For former Pellston basketball player Chris Gillett
the road that took him to his current situation was anything but a straight line
yet the multiple and curvy paths he’s gone down have prepared him for what’s next to come
Gillett was hired as the new head coach of Team FOG Næstved
a professional men’s basketball team of the Danish basketball league
takes over after two years as an assistant for the team
and will be tasked with leading them back to the Danish Cup title
which the team won during the 2016-17 season
“I definitely did not expect to be a head coach this early,” Gillett said
“It was just something where I was in the right place at the right time and got the hire
Gillett played under former Pellston coach Cliff Hass in the mid-2000s
but didn’t continue his playing career after high school
Gillett attended Grand Valley State University where he attempted – and failed – to volunteer for the Lakers’ men’s basketball team
After striking out three years in a row with the men’s squad
Finally having the opportunity to get his foot into the door
Gillett switched his major to coaching and then took a graduate assistant position with Armstrong State University in Savannah
Gillett earned his master’s in adult education during the two years he was with ASU
Following his short stint with Georgia Southern
Gillett then moved overseas and took a job as an assistant with professional team
“The pro game was something I had always been interested in,” Gillett said
the team was playing well and had won a championship
but a visa problem forced Gillett to return to the states without knowing what the future held for him
Gillett didn’t wait long to figure out his next move
as he hired an agent and coached camps in Las Vegas
which then led to his assistant position with FOG
and Gillett is now the head coach and the youngest ever within the Danish basketball league
“When you think about coming from Pellston to where I am now
it seems kind of improbable,” Gillett said
“It was more about trying every step of the way to make the best decision for my career and for the dream that I had in mind.”
While Gillett’s path to the pro game and becoming one of the youngest coaches overseas has been anything but traditional
it offers a chance for reflection on overcoming the obstacles in his way
“I didn’t have any back up plan,” Gillett said about the visa situation
“Everyone told me when I was young that if I was going to be a successful coach
and you can’t allow yourself to have an easy back up plan
“There have been plenty of times where I thought ‘This is the end; I’m not going to get another job,’ and I eventually did by continuing to try to find something because there was no other option
It’s always been about keeping the dream at the front of my decision making.”
Gillett will have to show why he is the right coach for the job as he’s in charge of making all the decisions
something he didn’t have to worry about as an assistant
‘You’re going to be held to the same standard as a 50-year-old coach
The only standard we have is winning,’” Gillett said of FOG
It doesn’t matter if you’re a player or a coach.”
There won’t be any room or time for error for Gillett
and even though there is pressure to succeed right away
the challenge is something he said he welcomes
you can pretend you know all the correct decisions to make in certain situations because it doesn’t affect you at the end of the day
I’m having to make the same decisions the team makes every year
You really have to think everything through as much as you possibly can to make sure it’s the best move for the club
and as long as I follow the style I want to coach
but now Gillett will have the opportunity to cruise at his own pace and direct his own path moving forward
“Every single coach I’ve been under has taught me something different,” Gillett said
“I don’t think if I hadn’t been to so many different places that I would be as prepared as I am now
I’ve learned a little bit from each place and I’m able to now take that in to feel pretty good about my own coaching job.”
Following their striking livestream for Lightening In A Bottle’s 24-hour digital festival just a couple of weeks ago, experimental Danish electronic pop trio WhoMadeWho now unveil the full 60-minute performance
free for fans to enjoy over on their official YouTube channel
Teaming up with local Danish architects and designers
Bjarke Ingels Group (BIG) – who were brought on board to bring their iconic SKUM Pavillion structure to the coastal cliffs of Denmark’s Næstved region – the Scandinavian trio pulled out all the stops to deliver another dazzling hour-long stream
sound-tracked by a selection of the band’s dynamic musical catalogue; past
the ‘SKUM’ Pavillion is a huge 20m long bubble-like structure powered by two wind-turbines
and was first erected at the globally renowned Roskilde festival
“This live concert film was a special experience for us – in particular for Barfod who grew up in the Danish countryside
500 meters from the field it was filmed at
The initial location actually got cancelled
Tomas called his family who still live in the area
We also underestimated SKUM and it’s sheer size
Apparently it needed more effort to place a half ton and 20 meter long structure than we had anticipated
60 min before recording it began to rain…”

which dropped on Embassy One at the beginning of May
The first original single to be taken from their upcoming seventh studio album

Dambreville is taking his talents to Denmark
The former Bridgewater-Raynham and Florida Southern College standout signed with Team FOG Næstved of the Basketligaen
Denmark's top professional basketball league
"We think (our future) looks exciting with EJ Dambreville, who can score but has also grabbed a lot of rebounds in his college days," Team FOG Næstved Director Andreas Larsen said in a press release
fulfilling a lifelong dream of becoming a professional athlete is an incredible feeling
so I'm just grateful and blessed to be in this position and have great people around me who have supported me along this way
Right now I'm just enjoying the opportunity that I have."
Dambreville heads to Denmark following a five-year college basketball career at Florida Southern
he averaged 12.1 points and 9.9 rebounds per game
leading the Moccasins with 9.9 rebounds per game while also averaging a career-high 18.1 points per game and recording 82 assists
31 steals and 11 blocks in helping the team finish 19-9
he was named a First-Team All-Sunshine State Conference
a National Association of Basketball Coaches Second Team All-South Region and a Division 2 Conference Commissioners' Association Second Team All-South Region All-Star
is that he impacted winning here at Florida Southern both on and off the court since day one," Florida Southern coach Mike Donnelly said
so he made a great impression right away ..
He has been our undisputed team leader the last couple of years
More: Johnny Baseball and more: Taunton Daily Gazette Baseball All-Scholastics
Dambreville signed with an Italian-based agent who got him into a July showcase in Las Vegas that gave him the opportunity to play in front of professional scouts from across the world
That's where he caught the attention of Team FOG Næstved
whose leadership was looking for a strong rebounder
I got a call from (Team FOG Næstved) and I ended up talking with the head coach (Daniel Pearson) and the owner and it was a great conversation and it just seemed like it'd be a good fit for me to come in
especially for my first year," said Dambreville
to fit a certain role and they thought I'd be a good fit for that."
Dambreville said he felt the Danish club was the best fit
"I loved what they were offering for a first-year experience and I just felt real comfortable with that," Dambreville said
seeing Dambreville turn professional is a testament to the hard work he knows he has put in day in and day out since he first began coaching him as a middle schooler on the Taunton Youth Basketball travel team
"He's always been a standout player," Alves said
"He's one of those kids who's a gym rat and has worked extremely hard over the years."
who has been friends with Alves' son and former B-R standout Dougie Alves since childhood
the impact of Alves' on his life couldn't be understated
that's my right hand man," Dambreville said
not just for what he's done for me but for what he does with the community..
He coached me and taught me a lot of valuable lessons on and off the court about how to be a man and how to carry myself and I give a lot of credit to him and I'm extremely thankful to him."
His basketball journey with Alves began in middle school when he was a part of the Taunton Youth Basketball travel team
Dambreville began his high school basketball career at Taunton
playing his freshman and sophomore seasons for the Tigers before moving to Raynham and playing his junior and senior years for the Trojans under Alves
where he was named the Taunton Daily Gazette Boys Basketball Player of the Year in 2017
"It was another step for me to go over there and be coached by a great coach and be around great competition with Dougie and all of the other great players that challenged me every day at practice to be the best version of myself I could be and to be a leader on that team."
He recalled his favorite memory with the Trojans being their 2017 Division 1 South quarterfinal win over then-defending Division 1 South champions and 2015 Division 1 champion Catholic Memorial
"To win that game at home in front of all of the fans
it was a packed house and standing room only
so that was definitely one of the best moments I had at B-R," Dambreville said
but he stood out to me because his high-level energy was just different," Donnelly said
but he played so hard and just impacted winning in a big-time way
He was athletic and I knew he just was scratching the surface of his basketball potential
and he was hungry and determined to improve

The Moccasins gave Dambreville his first offer and he accepted, even as other schools that had previously overlooked him changed their minds.
"Following that offer from Florida Southern, a bunch of the schools that I had reached out to while he was at B-R started showing a lot of interest and offers," Alves said, "but being the type of young man that he is, he went with the coach and the school that wasn't afraid to take a chance on a kid that was under the radar."
At first, the move to Florida Southern proved to be quite the challenge for Dambreville, but he was determined to make it work and carve his place on the team.
"Coming in, I had great players around me and I struggled my first year just trying to gain my confidence back and finding how I could gain my way into the system," Dambreville said. "But it was a very humbling experience and I took that first year and went back home and made sure that I worked my tail off so that I would never feel how I felt that year, and Coach Doug was a factor in that."
After training with Alves, Dambreville returned to Lakeland and made an immediate impact on the Mocs, becoming the only underclassman starter on a team that featured NABC Division II Player of the Year Brett Hanson and went 29-2 on their way to the 2019-20 SCC conference title, something Dambreville considers his favorite memory from his time in Lakeland.
"(Accomplishing) the individual goals are great, but the team goals are something that we'll always remember," Dambreville said. "I'm big on team, so having those relationships with these guys that I'll have for the rest of my life, I feel that's bigger than any individual goal that I can get."
While the team had high hopes for the NCAA Division II tournament, they were dashed by the COVID-19 pandemic. While one door closed, however, another opened for Dambreville as he gained an additional year of eligibility, something he used to continue both his basketball and academic careers, earning his Bachelor's degree in Business and his MBA, for which he'll be hooded the day before he takes off for Denmark.
"I was blessed to be able to have the opportunity to have that paid for and work hard throughout the years," Dambreville said. "A lot of people wish to be in my position so I'm taking it all in and taking all of the opportunities that I can."
As well, he is also grateful for his time and experiences at Florida Southern.
"Florida Southern is another home. When I got back down to Florida, I came right to the gym and it brought back all of the memories that I had of the moments that brought me to where I am along with all of the people who've shown me love down here."
His impact on the program is certainly felt by those around him, who are proud to see his hard work come to fruition.
"E.J. told me from day one that he wanted to be a pro, and due to his commitment, sacrifice, and hard work hard work he has been able to make his dream come true," Donnelly said. "I have been coaching for almost 25 years, and E.J. is right up there with the all-time great people that I have had the privilege to coach. He is a great success story, and I know E.J. will continue to grind and keep getting better and better."
Giving back and looking forwardWhile back in Massachusetts this summer, Dambreville stayed with the Alves family and volunteered at Alves' funDAmental Basketball Clinic, a camp for Greater Taunton and Bridgewater area third- through ninth-graders at Forekicks Taunton last month. While there, he was able to share his story with the kids, something which he said meant the world to him.
"I loved giving back, that's the least that I can for Coach Doug and the kids," Dambreville added. "The kids are a reflection of me, so if I give back positivity, the positivity comes back."
For Alves, seeing the success Dambreville has accomplished is a proud moment.
As he prepares to head to Næstved, Denmark later this month, Dambreville said he's excited for new experiences both on and off the court.

TT’s Aaron Wilson shows extreme focus during his silver medal performance at a table tennis tournament in Copenhagen
Three-time national men’s table tennis champion Aaron Wilson has embarked on a European quest to fulfil his dream of becoming a pro athlete
The 25 year old is in Denmark representing Næstved Bordtennis in the Danish second division
but has already made his presence felt on the competitive circuit
In Wilson’s first tournament in Copenhagen
losing 3-2 to club-mate Jeppe Spottog in the final
The club team is also two wins from two in the league’s team events
Wilson represents Carenage Blasters Table Tennis Club
but having previously got a whiff of the European circuit
the right-handed player always dreamed of returning one day
Despite only being allowed three months in Denmark
he’s working on acquiring a visa to stay there and play out the season
“The goal for me is to establish myself within the Danish league this season and play as much table tennis as possible
“There’s way more opportunities for me in Europe
My dream was always to become a professional table tennis player in Europe
and really do my best in the competitions such as the Commonwealth Games and Central American and Caribbean Games
after Caribbean Championships this year in Guyana
that I’d return to Europe to fulfil my dream one way or the other.”
Wilson is also a two-time (2015 and 2016) Junior Caribbean Championships title-holder
and also bagged bronze in the men’s Caribbean Championships
he snagged silver in the men’s A1 division of the Classified Table Tennis Tournament
Wilson battled from two sets down to win the men’s final of the ICWI Silver Bowl Table Tennis tournament
Wilson’s trip is currently funded by himself and family members
He welcomes any financial assistance on his journey to become a pro
which would help him offset the costs of training
he plans to return to university in Europe
with the sole aim of breaking into the Danish first division
“I want to proceed on this professional journey and make the best of it
as I know TT is not really that top-tier for sport
and there’s not much financial assistance…
I’m looking for sponsors at this time to help fund my journey to becoming a pro table tennis player for TT
“I also want to participate in other tournaments in Europe
It won’t cost too much to go to these places
I just want to play as much table tennis as possible
and I want to be the best version of myself or the best athlete Aaron could be.”
Wilson said he used to travel to Europe in his earlier years to compete in Spain
he thought he deserved more as an upcoming player
Growing up and understanding that I’m coming from the western side of the world
I understood that I’d have to prove myself in Europe
Now I have a different mindset and I’m just going to work hard and progress throughout the season.”
Despite exiting this year’s Caribbean Table Tennis Championships at the round of 16
Wilson is optimistic his time abroad will improve his chances of podium performances in 2024
he wants to qualify for the Pan Am Games next year
With Caribbean Champs set for the Dominican Republic
Wilson is aiming for a medal this time around
as it would be a good start for his qualification cycle for the 2028 Olympic Games in Los Angeles

This location has had a major impact on the architects’ design of the winning proposal: The compact building volume is placed in continuation of the existing stadium in order pull the structure away from the adjoining housings. This initial decision makes it possible to transform the open space towards the residential area into a green urban park with a street basketball court, playground and recreational areas.
Courtesy of CEBRAThe arena’s basic and stringent volume is softened by a façade of undulating protrusions of varying heights, which are adjusted to the corresponding internal functions, as well as plant containers, which are incorporated into the façade’s perforated aluminium panels. Thus, the building’s quite massive appearance is reduced and the building forms a gradual transition to the park.
from where they enter the central arena space
which is lowered so the floor is below ground level
The arena’s bowl-like shape and the surrounding stands’ sloping planes bring the building’s scale into play – they contribute to creating the intense and heaving atmosphere during sports events and concerts
where you feel small as an individual and large as a community at one and the same time
The Adaptable EngineThe arena contains a collection of functions
which form the base for a complex and diverse range of usage patterns
When the usage changes between different types and scales of events
the relations between the building’s internal functions switch and adapt accordingly
the arena is characterized by relative rather than absolute relations that express a logic yet versatile and flexible organisation
where “the machine” quickly and effectively can be configured according to the demands of the different scenarios
the project contains a proposal for how the arena’s ceiling can be integrated as an active contributor to the overall experience by designing it as a giant LED screen
This media façade would add a unique dimension to the venue with a wide range of applications
During games or concerts the screen can be used as score or information board as well as for light shows
In the everyday use of the arena the ceiling can serve as a low-energy lighting alternative and create areas with varying light intensity or even display the coach’s strategy
tactics and training exercises in a 1:1 scale via tablet or smartphone

On 25 April 2013 the new travelling exhibition „Sophie´s Choice In the Czech Way“ prepared by journalist and researcher Judita Matyášová was opened in Næstved Museum
Sophie´s Choice In the Czech Way refers to the name of the book Sophie´s Choice by William Styron which tells the story about a Jewish mother who had to chose to save one of her two children
Just before the breakout of WW2 some Czech Jewish parents found themselves in a similar situation when they had to chose which one of their children would go to the Zionist courses preparing them for life in Palestine
these 150 children never reached Palestine as it was planned but were accepted in foster families in Denmark and later fled to Sweden
The Czech journalist and researcher Judita Matyášová has been searching for these survivors (today almost 90 years old) all around the world
She has documented this unknown chapter of Czech-Danish-Sweedish history
where a lot of these survivors are still alive
Exhbition „Sophie´s Choice In the Czech Way“
The exhibition was launched by ambassador Zdeněk Lyčka and Mayor of Næstved Carsten Rasmussen together with the museum´s director Palle Birk Hansen and the exhibition´s author Judita Matyášová

the people interested in the topic had the opportunity to learn more about the project at a lecture by Judita Matyášová
The launching of the exhibiton in Næstved in the south of the island of Sealand wastn´t arranged at random – a big part of the group of Czechoslovakian children was accepted exactly here
The exhibition will be presented in Næstved until 31 May 2013
During the month the Danish organizers will arrange several supporting events
On Sunday 12 May 2013 pianist Markéta Janáčková and mezzosopranist Pavla Švestková will present songs created in Theresienstadt by Jewish composers
The exhibition Sophie´s Choice In the Czech Way will also be a part of the commemorative events on the occasion of the 70th anniversary of the flight of Danish Jews to Sweden
which will take place in October 2013 in Gilleleje and Copenhagen
The exhibition will travel further around Denmark where it will be presented in the former concentration camp in Jutlandic Frøslev
We would like to thank ŠKODA TRANSPORTATION a.s
who has had a great part in supporting the exhibition
