Angel Ayora set a new course record at Club de Golf Alcanada to claim the outright lead on the opening day of the Rolex Challenge Tour Grand Final supported by The R&A
nine birdies and just one bogey to sign for a ten under par round of 62 in Port d'Alcúdia
one clear of Dane Rasmus Neergaard-Petersen in second place
Ayora’s round of ten under par sets a new course record on the Alcanada course which was previously set by South African JC Ritchie who posted a nine under par round of 63 in the season finale two years ago
The 20-year-old made the perfect start to his opening round with an eagle at the par five fifth
before his only blemish of the day came on the second hole
Ayora bounced back with a birdie at the third before further gains at eight and nine
The Spaniard parred the tenth hole before six birdies in a seven hole stretch saw him climb to the top of the leaderboard
and he has now set his sights on a second victory of the 2024 Road to Mallorca
The 20-year-old currently sits sixth in the Road to Mallorca Rankings following victory in the Rosa Challenge Tour and five other top tens
and he has all but guaranteed promotion to the DP World Tour
“Today was like playing a video game,” he said
“I have less work for the rest of the tournament now
There was a little wind earlier on which meant I had to be a bit more precise with my irons
I’ve never played 28 or 30 tournaments in a season
playing on different types of courses with different grasses.”
who earned automatic promotion to the DP World Tour after winning three times on the Challenge Tour this season
is hoping to finish the season as Challenge Tour Number One and he made the perfect start with an opening bogey-free 63
Kristoffer Reitan from Norway had earlier set the pace on a low-scoring opening day
signing for a seven under par total to sit in solo third
one stroke clear of Frenchman Martin Couvra
Swede Joakim Lagergren and Dane Nicolai Kristensen who share fourth
Dane Jonathan Goth-Rasmussen and Swede Niklas Lemke are in eighth on five under par
Round two gets under way at 8:05am local time tomorrow with Ayora teeing off in the final group alongside Neergaard-Petersen at 9:50am

Rising DP World Tour prospect Angel Ayora has rejected the opportunity to join the 2025 LIV Golf League according to a report
Spanish publication Ten Golf have said Ayora snubbed a lucrative two-year contract to replace Kalle Samooja who was relegated from LIV Golf in 2024
Martin Kaymer’s Cleeks GC are on the lookout for a fourth member to join Richard Bland and Adrian Meronk
20-year-old Ayora has been tipped to be one of the brightest young sparks on the DP World Tour this season and has already impressed in his first two starts with a T6 finish at the Australian PGA and T23 at the Australian Open
The Spaniard won the Rosa Challenge Tour in September on his way to ealing promotion from the Challenge Tour to the DP World Tour in November
A runner-up finish at the Rolex Challenge Tour Grand Final was a standout result from his four top-10 finishes in the last two months
Ayora had reportedly been circled as one of LIV Golf CEO Greg Norman’s most important signings for the 2025 League but the world number 238 has snubbed the advances of the Saudi backed tour
The search for a fourth Cleeks GC player will continue before the deadline in February with Graeme McDowell linked with a return
McDowell endured two underwhelming seasons with Kaymer’s side during the first couple of years of LIV Golf
But despite an improved performance with Brooks Koepka and Smash GC this term after they offered him a lifeline last winter
a new deal hasn’t been offered to the 2010 US Open champion
The Ayora to LIV Golf links won’t end just yet with Sergio Garcia’s Fireballs GC on the hunt for a new recruit after fellow Spaniard Eugenio Chacarra left the team recently

who entered the second round with a one-shot advantage after his course record 62 yesterday
carded seven birdies to move to 17 under par in Alcúdia
two ahead of Norwegian Kristoffer Reitan who signed for an eight under par round of 64
The 20-year-old showed no signs of nerves with a birdie at the par five first hole
before two more gains at the fourth and seventh saw him make the turn at three under par
He would make four more gains at holes ten
13 and 15 to race into a commanding lead before play was suspended due to the threat of lightning in the area
Ayora parred his way in to remain at the top of the leaderboard
Angel Ayora follows up yesterdays 62 with a bogey-free 65 to take a two-shot lead heading into the weekend 🇪🇸#RolexGrandFinal
who entered the week in sixth position on the Road to Mallorca Rankings
is projected to climb into the Number One spot and would become the third Spaniard to win the Challenge Tour Rankings after Carl Suneson in 1999 and Alvaro Velasco in 2010
“I played very well just like I did yesterday and I hope to keep doing the same over the weekend
“The ball striking was important so as not to make any mistakes
I had one situation on the 12th but I made a very good chip to save it
playing the last tournament of the Challenge Tour season
I tried to be relaxed and play comfortably
“You never know what can happen but I’m going to stay calm
I definitely thought about winning the Rankings at the start of the week
and he could have a low one on Saturday or Sunday
He’s a very good player and it is motivation for me to play well.”

Revenue management platform ayora
announced today that it has secured $1.6 million in a Pre-Seed round
the company developed the world’s first AI-powered platform that helps busy professionals improve revenue decision-making and streamline associated tasks
ayora estimates that legal professionals worldwide lose up to 20 per cent of revenue annually due to inadequate revenue management practices
Many revenue management tasks handled by lawyers
and cross-selling remain labour-intensive and poorly supported by existing technologies
Therefore lawyers either de-prioritise those tasks at the expense of client work, or spend too much time on non-chargeable revenue management work, in each case leading to major value leakage for their firms. Lawyers report they spend around a third of their time on non-billable work
ayora translates disparate data into actionable insights
ranging from pre-drafting client correspondence to budget monitoring and suggesting optimal billing schedules
alongside the observation of the day-to-day revenue management activities inside the platform generate insights for firms to optimise revenues
J12 leads the funding with participation from Twin Path Ventures and a group of angel investors including Farah Ballands (former CEO of Estera and Appleby partner)
Roger Siddle (former Chairman of Lawyers on Demand
UK Managing Partner at Bain) and Abhijat Saraswat (CRO of Lupl
“Blue chip lawyers’ time is extremely valuable
and yet too much of it is taken up by manual tasks such as WIP list analysis
machines are perfectly equipped to handle those tasks whilst keeping the lawyer firmly in the loop; they also benefit from the insights gleaned from law firms’ vast historic time and billing datasets that are ordinarily not discernible to humans
They are an exceptional team solving mission-critical revenue conversion problems for their customers in a radically different way
ayora's unique technology transforms continuous revenue-level improvement processes within law firms by translating disparate data signals into highly personalised
highly actionable insights that can be deployed at scale
their product generates rich metadata which is in turn used to improve future insights
creating a virtuous cycle that results in law firms producing higher revenues over time
We are excited about the applications of ayora's tech both within the BigLaw industry and beyond.”
ayora will accelerate engineering recruitment and begin its commercial expansion starting with the BigLaw market
building on its recent partnership with major City law firm Mischon de Reya

Spain’s Angel Ayora came out on top at the Rosa Challenge as his overnight lead would prove unassailable and a level-par final round would suffice to see the talented 19-year-old earn his maiden tour victory on his rookie year
Dermot McElroy topped off a fine week with a one-under final round to secure solo second
McElroy was a model of consistency all week with only six dropped shots over the 72 holes
Two of those came on the final day at the seventh and again on his final hole of the tournament
Two of his three birdies came on the back nine with one after the turn on the 10th followed up by another on the par-four 16th
His one-under confirmed second position on -10
one stroke clear of the Swedish duo of Jens Fahrbring and Christofer Rahm
He comes away with 220 Road to Morocco points for his troubles and climbs to 26th in the rankings and will now have designs on pushing his way into the top-20 and earning promotion to the DP World Tour for 2025
He started off well with three birdies and just one dropped shot on his outward nine before coming unstuck on his homeward leg
Three dropped shots on his way back saw him drop back towards the pack
Fortunately for the Spaniard there was no bolter on the final day and his lead proved too much for the bunch to overcome
The win takes him to ninth in the Road to Morocco standings and one step closer to promotion to the DP World Tour at the first time of asking
so to have a win is very special,” he said
“To give myself a chance to get onto the DP World Tour makes me very happy
It’s my dream to play on the DP World Tour
I’m very proud of all the work we’ve put in to do this.”
“I’m going straight to Switzerland to play on the DP World Tour which will be a special week,” he added
“I’ll take a week off before coming back to play the Italian Challenge Open on the Challenge Tour to try and end the season well and get promoted.”
Gregorio De Leo couldn’t repeat his exploits of Saturday’s 61 as he carded a three-over to drop back into a group of six players sharing fifth spot on minus eight
Conor Purcell had an even-par final day with three shots traded back and forth on a battling Sunday on Rosa GC
He rounded off his week at four-under and in a share of 27th spot with Welshman Luke Harries
Gary Hurley had a day to forget with a bruising six-over par final day
He had back-to-back dropped shots from the par-five third and was battling back after the turn
gaining two back before a treble on the par-three 14th was compounded by a double on the 16th
He dropped back to the lower order after a mixed week for the 31-year-old
Next up on the Challenge Tour is the short trip over the border to Germany and Wittelsbacher GC for the Big Green Egg German Challenge
McElroy will be one of an eight strong Irish contingent heading to Neuberg an der Donau aiming to dethrone the reigning Francesco Laporta
The fifth to the eighth of September will host the Challenge Tour around the German countryside with just seven events remaining on the schedule before the Rolex Challenge Tour Grand Final

A PGA TOUR debut would come as he made the cut at the Puerto Rico Open but it was on the Challenge Tour where he continued to shine

12 months after finishing third at the Hainan Open in his first Challenge Tour appearance as an amateur
The penultimate DP World Tour event of the calendar year was won by South African Shaun Norris after the 42-year-old shot 67 to triumph by one
South Africa's Shaun Norris carded a final-round 67 to come from six strokes back and win the 2024 Alfred Dunhill Championship by one
Marcus Kinhult of Sweden began Sunday on 14-under
two strokes in front of his closest challenger and half-a-dozen in front of Norris
but was one of several players who really struggled to generate any positive momentum as the hunt for the title began at Leopard Creek
Norris was one of only three players inside the top-10 who managed to break 70 in the final round
with England's John Parry scoring 69 while South Africa's Keenan Davidse posted 68
Five birdies and an eagle more than wiped out a lone bogey for Norris
who recorded his second win in three weeks after triumphing at the JT Cup on the Japan Golf Tour
an emotional Norris said: "I'm very happy that it worked out this way
Words can't describe (winning a second DP World Tour title)
It's been up and down and all over the place
Winning two weeks ago in Japan and then winning this week - what a blessing."
The 42-year-old reached the clubhouse on 13-under while there were still at least a dozen players still out on the course
but the difficult closing third at Leopard Creek ensured no one would ever surpass Norris
Ryan Van Velzen had a chance to reach 14-under on the 18th
but he followed Spain's Angel Ayora by finding the water with his approach before failing to get up and down for par
I thought 14 or 15-under was a good number to get to
and if I could post a number early then they needed to chase it down
The last four or fives holes on this golf course are very strong
Van Velzen ultimately ended in a tie for second alongside Parry and Kinhult on -12
Ayora and Darius Van Driel finished in a tie for fifth on -11
Jonny LeighfieldNews WriterHello and welcome to Golf Monthly's coverage of the Alfred Dunhill Championship closing stages
The leaders have entered the back nine at Leopard Creek GC and any one of almost a dozen players could still go on to win this
Join me for key updates from the final few holes to keep across all the action as it happens
South Africa's Shaun Norris has catapulted himself into a four-way share for the lead after making birdie at 15
Van Velzen navigated a potentially tricky two putt from just off the back of the 11th green
showing superb touch to roll his golf ball down the hill and leave it at kick-in range
Marcus Kinhult is still just a stroke back after arresting his earlier slide
The leading Spaniard has dropped a shot after a really disappointing three-putt at the 12th
but his effort down the hill had way too much on it and led to Ayora slipping back to one behind
there are likely to be just as many mistakes as gains
so Ayora is unlikely to be alone in that regard..
I'm not sure what's going on on the greens this afternoon
but an increasing number of players are struggling with pace control
France's Martin Couvra was in contention for the prize
but he has just taken four taps with his putter and is now likely out of it
leaving him with a double-bogey 7 and knocking him back to -10 for the week
The second four putt we've seen today.Being in contention is hard. #DunhillChamps pic.twitter.com/7M3ym5Lp2ADecember 15, 2024
Kinhult and Van Velzen still have five more holes to play
but they're struggling to find any momentum
Norris and Parry seem to be enjoying life a little more but are coming towards the end of their respective final rounds
Van Velzen has three-putted on the par-5 13th to slip back to -12
and they're going to need it if the final pair want to reignite their title hopes
John Parry is the latest player in the field to three-putt
causing him to drop a shot at the par-3 16th
Shaun Norris missed the fairway on 18 off the tee and tried to lay up with his second shot but made a poor mistake of finding the bunker
just short of the lake in front of the green
The South African pumps his long-range bunker shot onto the green - leaving himself two putts from 25 feet to reach the clubhouse at 13-under
Six shots back before a shot was struck in round four
Shaun Norris cards a 67 and reaches the clubhouse on 13-under
that is likely to be enough with the way it's going
Norris is in line for his second DP World Tour win at 42 years old
He would also be the 13th South African ever to win this event
42 year old Shaun Norris shoots a final round 67 and takes the clubhouse lead at -13 🙌#DunhillChamps pic.twitter.com/VJD358xcWTDecember 15, 2024
Van Velzen makes a birdie at the 14th after a stunning approach to say 'hang on a second
this isn't over.' He has two more par-5s to come as well
Ayora has to accept a par at 15 after blasting his drive down the right side of the fairway and consequently finding the back-left bunker
He had navigated some over-hanging trees and a horribly scary bunker shot on his way
"My flight to Mauritius on Monday... I won't be airborne that long!" Angel Ayora with a monster drive at the 15 🚀#DunhillChamps pic.twitter.com/6YQT5lgV7iDecember 15, 2024
even after giving himself a decent chance at birdie
Marcus Kinhult is +2 for the day but moves back to within one of the lead 🤝#DunhillChamps pic.twitter.com/qx9GRSC8UZDecember 15, 2024
Van Velzen safely two-putts on the par-3 16th to stay at -13
but Kinhult went for broke with his birdie putt and almost putted into the left-hand bunker
He had to flirt with danger to make it happen
Another bogey means he is teetering on the brink
The Englishman had a chance to tie the lead on the final green
but his birdie effort was well right of target and he has to settle for 12-under and a top-five
but a superb week overall for the Challenge Tour grad
One of the key South African hopes before play began
Dean Burmester endured a straight-up nightmare at Leopard Creek on Sunday
He ended with a six-over-par 78 to slide all the way down to T27th
Van Velzen looked as if he had made a key birdie at the 17th to take the outright lead
but it just nose-dived left at the last second and he remains level with Norris at -13
The clubhouse leader has just wandered over to the driving range in case of a playoff
Van Driel has thumped one down there on 18
He's in a great position to set up a birdie
Ayora - who absolutely needs a birdie if he is to have a chance of making the playoff - says 'hold my cerveza (sin alcohol)' and launches his own drive over the South African's on the fly
but the second shot bounces at the back of the green and dribbles into the drink
Angel Ayora finds the water at 18 🌊#DunhillChamps pic.twitter.com/aZF8ltgpd5December 15, 2024
Ayora is clipped over the back of the head one more time on the 18th

TRAZIA’s museo casa ayora intervention is defined by a new volume which occupies the site of the ruinous kitchen of the preexisting house

One of the largest pirate radio fines in the history of the Federal Communications Commission is now final
The FCC heard nothing in response from César and Luis Angel Ayora about their alleged operations of the station known as “Radio Impacto 2” in Queens
That radio silence has cleared the Commission to finalize the $2,316,034 fine that was first announced in March
“Such illegal operations can interfere with licensed communications, including authorized broadcasts and communications by public safety entities,” the Commission says in the three-page order
The fine levied against César and Luis Angel Ayora could have been significantly higher with a list of 77 apparent violations
including multiple violations documented through the years
the FCC issued a base fine of $20,000 per day for each of the 184 days that the Ayoras allegedly violated the rules – or a $3.68 million fine
The FCC also concluded a “significant upward adjustment” was warranted based on the facts of the case
The Commission concluded that a penalty of $21,307,568 was appropriate
explaining that the Ayoras’ conduct was “intentional” and “illegal” but they chose to continue to operate Radio Impacto 2
The Ayoras will not be required to pay that $21.3 million fine
That is because federal law only allows the FCC to issue a fine of $115,802 for each day during which the offense occurs
and not more than $2,316,034.57 – the maximum that they are being hit with
The FCC investigation says the Ayoras jointly operated Radio Impacto 2 “for years” as they targeted Ecuadorian residents of the Corona neighborhood of New York. The pirate station’s own website says it launched in September 2008, promising 24 hours of programming. The couple even did interviews about the station which started at 91.9 FM and then moved up to 105.5 FM in 2016
Enforcement Bureau field agents have been trying to shut down the station since 2013
it issued a trio of notices to the Ayoras warning them to power down
Luis Ayora did apparently admit to operating the station when field agents paid a visit to their building and met with the landlord
the FCC says the Ayoras kept Radio Impacto 2 on the air even as more complaints arrived
“Some of the most egregious pirate radio operations are run by individuals who have ignored prior enforcement actions by the Commission,” the order released Friday says
it merits the strongest possible enforcement measures to the fullest extent of the law.”
The latest fine is also not the first against the Ayoras
The Commission says it issued a $20,000 fine against the pair in 2015
And when a raid seized their equipment in 2016
The FCC says between March 2017 and January 2020
field agents traced the pirate station to the couple 11 times
but COVID restrictions prevented further onsite inspections by field agents until 2022
The forfeiture order details how the Ayoras can pay the $2.3 million fine
warning failure to do so within 30 days will result in the case being handed over to the Department of Justice for collections
but getting DOJ attorneys to pursue delinquent fine payers has proven difficult for the FCC
During testimony last year before the House subcommittee charged with overseeing the agency
FCC Chair Jessica Rosenworcel urged lawmakers to give the Commission more authority to go after fine collections on its own
“You keep on telling us to rachet up the fines
“And then we take those fines over to our colleagues at the Department of Justice and we hope and pray that we take them to court
this Committee should instead give us the authority to take those bad actors to court
I think it would have meaningful impact were we able to do more of that.”
The idea was met with some support from members of the House Subcommittee on Communications and Technology
no steps have been taken to change the law
That means that collecting the record-setting pirate fine against the Aroyas may come down to just how busy DOJ lawyers are with other things

I never miss an opportunity to learn from someone!”
Fun Fact About Yourself: Let’s play Smash Brothers
Undergraduate School and Major Tecnológico de Monterrey
Regional Operations Manager in Latin America
Describe your biggest accomplishment in your career so far: I felt very accomplished and happy when I was promoted to Regional Manager at Uber
having been in my previous role for only six months
I was hired on a level below the one I applied because I was coming from a very traditional industry (finance) and my future Uber manager believed that I needed to get accustomed to the “Uber way” of doing things before being a manager myself
I was disappointed with the decision at the time as I had been highly-ranked on my previous team
I took it as an opportunity to develop my professional skills further
and a focus on improving the specific skills that my manager identified
I was able to distinguish myself as an over performer and got promoted to an even higher role than I had sought
What quality best describes the MBA classmates you’ve met so far and why
They are extremely accomplished and interesting professionals from diverse backgrounds
all sharing the commitment to give their absolute best over the next two years so they can develop as much as they can personally and professionally and contribute to the Tuck community
there are no strangers; just being matriculated makes us a family and there is an honest interest from every Tuckie to contribute to the development of others and ourselves
What was the key factor that led you to choose this program for your full-time MBA and why was it so important to you
I wanted a college town school with a full focus on its two-year MBA program
I was looking for an experience that was going to be 100% immersive
Tuck allows me to have the opportunity to be 24 hours surrounded by the most accomplished
while granting me all the resources through its faculty
curriculum and campus to develop my personal and professional goals
Tuck to me is like an academic sabbatical –two years that I will be able to focus solely on doing the activities that will make me the future leader I want to become
All the buckets that encompass the MBA experience (academics
recruiting and social) are on steroids at Tuck
You are really involved in all your classes
You are really working hard on targeting companies
you are truly invested in your fellow Tuckies and in the Tuck community
What aspect of the school’s culture or values resonates most with you and why
The aptitudes of wisdom that are talked about at Tuck are unmatched
Tuckies practice confident humility about what they do and do not know and they use that for the advantage of all the people and projects in their lives
I see this value in my new classmates and myself
I know my strengths and I exploit and further develop them
I know my weakness and I am honest about them; I am not afraid to be vulnerable and I love asking for feedback from my study group just as much as I love when my study group asks me for feedback
We all have objectives we want to accomplish as individuals when we graduate
we all share the drive to identify the changes that need to happen today in order to make the business world a better place tomorrow
What club or activity are you looking most forward to in business school
What was the most challenging question you were asked during the admissions process
I find it very challenging to answer the “Where do you see yourself in the future” question simply because our world now is so dynamic
There is so much new information being generated daily with so many interesting people and professions
I feel that if I set myself on too specific of a track
I will be missing out on so many learning opportunities
What led you to pursue an MBA at this point in your career
My time at Uber made me realize that in order to further my career
I needed to excel in two main areas: strategic thinking and analytical skills
Uber was a great place to work for learning about analytics on the job
strategic thinking is a skill harder to develop
the head of Latin America at Uber (and a Tuck alum!)
which skill he needed the most for his role
He said strategic thinking—it’s a quality that may sound so simple
it encompasses so many other skills that it is really hard to find it in even the most qualified of candidates
Pursuing an MBA was a no brainer after that exchange
Only with a holistic management program and an immersive community like the one at Tuck can one truly get the resources one needs to be a strategic thinker – to think outside the box
and learn to bring out the best in people in order to execute projects successfully and accomplish impactful changes
I applied to three schools because I was focused on an education that would give a holistic view of management
I wanted a program that would grant me with the analytical skills needed to be able to judge when and how to take risks for the better
How did you determine your fit at various schools
In order to determine my fit for schools I did three things:
What was your defining moment and how did it shape who you are
I truly appreciate honest feedback and honest praise
I assign extra value to the things my peers do and subtract value from the things I do
Defining moments in life to me are all those praises that I do have from people who feel that I have contributed positively to them
I see myself as a hard-working professional who is recognized within my firm and my team as a true leader
and promotes and accomplishes positive disruption
I will recruit for strategy roles post-MBA and want to reach the partner/CEO level at a firm

Ayora said she should have never tried to fix what wasn't broken
as a "botched job" left her needing two additional injections to try and fix it
and later gave her a rare lip ulcer.
"I regret everything," Ayora said in an interview with Insider
Ayora said she now encourages people interested in fillers to weigh the risks
I'm always thinking about my lips," Ayora said
at one point I couldn't care less about what anybody was looking at on my face
Having stashed away enough money just as she turned 30
Ayora decided she would get fillers in 2021.
She found a nearby injection clinic operated by two former emergency room doctors after about 20 minutes of online research
and didn't review any before-and-after photos to see if the results match what she expected
she should know what she's doing,'" Ayora said
While at the clinic, Ayora asked the doctor who would be performing the procedure about lip filler and was told about a $600 sale on the procedure. That's lower than the $648 national average cost, according to RealSelf
though prices for filler are higher in larger cities and depending on the injector's level of expertise.
Without having a conversation about side effects, Ayora's doctor injected "half a syringe," which would be around 0.5 milliliter of filler between her top and bottom lips
Ayora left the clinic 30 minutes later with little idea of what to expect during her healing process
The recovery period ended up being a doozy
red bumps" on the injection sites on her lips
"They looked like bug bites," she added.
The bumps remained on her lips for around a month, and Ayora felt self-conscious when people got close to talk to her. According to NewBeauty Magazine
red bumps can occur after getting fillers and should resolve after a few days to weeks
who has more than 170,000 followers on TikTok
also realized her lips were lopsided; the right side of her mouth was noticeably more plump than the left.
Ayora went back to the clinic two weeks after the initial procedure for her follow-up appointment
The doctor attempted to even out her lips by injecting more filler on her left side.
nodular lesions rarely form in areas that receive filler
but no published studies exist on this side effect.
Ayora sent photos of her lesion to the clinic
She said doctors responded over the phone by ensuring her that ulcers are a "normal" side effect
despite the lack of research on this side effect.
Ayora went back to the clinic a third time and asked if the doctor could dissolve her filler entirely
"I wanted all of my lip filler to be dissolved."
the ulcer inside Ayora's lip remained a nuisance
She visited a dermatologist who treated the ulcer with hyaluronidase to shrink the lesion
Though she wanted to dissolve all her lip filler
the dermatologist said the process could make her lips uneven again
and suggested she wait for the filler to dissolve on its own.
Ayora said she will not get lip filler again
and urges her followers to carefully consider the risks of the procedure.
"It's so important to find a doctor who really puts pride into their work and cares," Ayora said
"so [you] feel safe and understand what could happen before making that decision."
First TeamThe Legacy Continues: Daniel Ayora
Fulfilling Their Dream at Levante UDThere are no reactions yet
Be the first!Daniel Ayora is living his dream and that of his grandfather
in his new role as the goalkeeping coach at Levante UD
The Ciutat de València witnessed a heartfelt conversation between the two
where Daniel received valuable advice from his grandfather in an emotional cross-generational encounter that reflects the passion and devotion to Levante
The story of Salvador Mut and Daniel Ayora mirrors that of many Levante fans
The common thread is the Granota sentiment
a sentiment that Mut began to experience firsthand in the late '60s when Levante UD paid nearly half a million pesetas to secure his services
decided to change the course of his career to return to his native Valencia
He did so to defend the Granota colors and played a significant role in the history of Levante UD: Mut guarded the goal at Mestalla during the transition from Vallejo to the current Ciutat de València
participated in the inauguration of the stadium
and was part of the squad that achieved promotion to the Second Division in the 1972/1973 season
he showed unwavering loyalty to the blue and garnet colors and hung up his boots after concluding his period as Levante's goalkeeper
aware of what Salvador Mut represented both on and off the field
didn't let him go and appointed him as the second coach of Levante UD and later as a delegate
This intense period at Orriols left a lasting impression on Salvador Mut
who proudly boasts of his Levante past wherever he goes
that Granota pride was what he tried to instill in his subsequent generations
Daniel joined Levante UD in 2016 to be part of the youth academy staff and progressed through different categories until reaching the reserve team
After being part of some of the successes of various youth teams and contributing to the development of goalkeepers trained in the academy
the goalkeeping coach made the leap to the first team at the end of February last year
An achievement that grandfather and grandson experience with excitement and enthusiasm
"When I called my grandfather to tell him that I had the opportunity to be in the first team
I didn't call my grandfather; I called my father – his father passed away when Daniel was little
It's very emotional to be able to tell him that I'm finally in the first team
I was really looking forward to this moment so that he could see me in a warm-up
and where we've come so many times," Daniel explains with emotion
"This is like a dream; it has been the joy of the family," confesses Mut
the Ciutat de València was the setting for the encounter between the two in a unique moment of connection between Levante's past and present
where Salvador Mut recounted his experiences and gave advice to his grandson for this new stage: "May you succeed
and never forget family." Daniel listened attentively to his grandfather's words in a conversation that captured the essence of football and family
You can watch this insightful conversation between grandfather and grandson below
The architect of the evacuation protocol, Ernesto Vaca, was in the heart of the action, along Puerto Ayora’s waterfront. In the darkness, he helped villagers and tourists move bags and board buses, cars, scooters – anything with wheels – to move up the mountain that dominates the island of Santa Cruz. Surf shops and tourist agencies were shuttered, promotional photos of tortoise-watching and snorkeling excursions incongruous in the tense evening air.
There was good reason to be concerned. In 2011, a wall of water swept across the Pacific Ocean following the earthquake that crippled the Fukushima nuclear power plant. By the time it reached Puerto Ayora, the wave was over 12 feet tall; it crashed through glass windows and flooded most of the lower part of the town. Although the damage was relatively minimal, the event provided a stark wake-up call for local government officials.
The emergency preparedness remit for the Galapagos reads like an apocalyptic screenplay in a region prone to all manner of natural disaster – fires, volcanic eruptions, earthquakes, tsunamis, and floods. 600 miles from the Ecuadorian mainland, the islands also need to be mindful of sluggish external assistance.
By 8:45 PM local time (the Galapagos are three hours behind Chile), the streets of Bellavista, a village well above the splash zone, were bustling, the evacuation plan an apparent success. As open-air cafes spilled out onto the sidewalks and crowds huddled around televisions, an atmosphere of kinetic, purposeful calm prevailed.
In the future, Vaca hopes, townspeople will be similarly cooperative and the Risk Management team will avoid boy-who-cried-wolf syndrome. “The people tell me, ‘it never happened, so why should I get concerned?’” recounts Vaca. He’s hoping that a broad public education campaign, from schoolchildren to governmental officials, will prove convincing.
“Last night the evacuation was good,” Vaca says in soft dawn light on April 2nd. “There is still room for improvement, but we are ready.”

They went with me to the islands during the middle of January, and hopefully their travels will help the students at their schools learn about the fragile, highly protected national park about 600 miles west of Ecuador.
We boarded Lindblad Expeditions' National Geographic Endeavour, and on our very first day we saw sea lions, Sally lightfoot crabs, sea turtles and a flamingo — pink, not plastic. Throughout the week, we added land and marine iguanas, yellow warblers, green sea turtles and giant Galapagos tortoises to that list.
A highlight for us was a visit to the Unidad Educativa Modelo Tomas de Berlanga, a prekindergarten through 12th-grade school near Puerto Ayora on Santa Cruz Island. There, we were guided through the grounds by the school's director.
The students studied in open-air classrooms.
The islands are on the equator, and the weather is warm year-round, with cool breezes from the ocean. There are wet and dry seasons. We were there at the very beginning of the wet season and had beautiful weather.
We met 10th-graders Patty Tapia, 15, Nicolas Padilla, 14, and Mateo Saenz, 15, in the art room working on colorful dragons. The students were going to be dismissed soon for their "summer" break at the end of January. They are out of school February, March and April instead of June, July and August.
Patty, who spoke very good English, said she has attended her school "all my life. I think 10 years."
The school is private, and some students attend through scholarships provided by Lindblad Expeditions.
Patty said her school is not the same as other Ecuadorian schools.
"For me, this school is different because we learn in the Galapagos with the nature," she said.
She added that Unidad Educativa Modelo Tomas de Berlanga has an expanded bilingual program, compared with other schools.
They receive about 10 hours of English each week, as opposed to one or two hours a week in other schools.
While we were at the school, a prekindergarten class gave us a paper Flat Stanley (from the Flat Stanley book series by Jeff Brown, about a flat boy who can be mailed and packed into luggage). He is shared by schools and travelers around the world.
Bessie and the Pine Grove bear are like Flat Stanley, in that they travel, too.
The Flat Stanley from Unidad Educativa Modelo Tomas de Berlanga will visit Brooksville and Pine Grove elementary schools before being returned to the Galapagos.
While Patty and her friends worked, Bessie and the Pine Grove bear watched.
Patty knew we would be returning to Brooksville and sent a message:
"Hello to Florida children. Lots of love from Galapagos!"

Juba – The attack in the Malakal protection of civilians site (PoC) on 17 and 18 February is another horrifying instance of brutality in a two year conflict marked by utter and unacceptable lack of respect for the lives and dignity of South Sudanese civilians
factually-consistent reports received by MSF in the aftermath of the fighting in the Malakal PoC
one of the MSF staff who died was killed while trying to provide medical assistance to people wounded in the fighting
MSF has received further reports that other people who tried to put out fires or help the wounded were deliberately targeted and shot
These callous acts of reprehensible violence occurred against a backdrop of two years in which civilians have been subject to indiscriminate levels of violence leading to death
irreparable wounds and the devastation of already extremely vulnerable communities in South Sudan
“This brazen violence and terrorization of civilian populations cannot continue
We are heartbroken and devastated by the senseless killing of our two colleagues,” says Raquel Ayora
“The violence in the Malakal PoC clearly demonstrates that protection of civilians and provision of humanitarian assistance can only be attained with a change of course in the conduct of hostilities by all parties to the conflict
The struggle confronted by civilians just to survive this crisis amidst the absolute chaos we witnessed two weeks ago and throughout this crisis should not be tolerated
All of those with power to prevent this from continuing and to protect human life should take action.”

were forced to seek shelter nearby amid inhumane
substandard conditions in an overcrowded UNMISS site prone to outbreaks of disease
MSF has confirmed at least nineteen fatalities
including two South Sudanese members of MSF’s staff
108 injured people were received in the MSF hospital for treatment
But the trauma and massive increase in humanitarian needs resulting from the attack will continue to affect this extremely vulnerable population for months to come.
gathering as close as they can to the areas in the camp perceived to be most safe,” says Ayora
“The dire situation and medical needs of the population will continue to worsen unless their security and protection is assured
in conjunction with rapid improvement of conditions in the camp.”
the thousands of people remaining in the camp are sheltering in areas of the camp not equipped for human habitation
The population only has access to an average of ten litres of water per person per day
little or no shelter and insufficient access to sanitation services
medical teams are treating patients for diseases associated with these dire living conditions
A further 4,500 people formerly sheltering in the Malakal PoC are now relocated to Malakal town
where there is very little access to any humanitarian assistance
MSF strongly condemns the unacceptable violence in the area and calls for sustained and meaningful protection of civilians by the belligerent parties
A team of 12 international staff and over 100 South Sudanese staff are working in the MSF hospital
MSF operates 17 medical projects across South Sudan
providing assistance to whoever needs it most regardless of race
MSF provided medical care to more than 800,000 people in South Sudan

Angel Ayora from Spain has turned down a lucrative offer to join LIV Golf League
The media outlet reported that Ayora was offered to join Martin Kaymer's Cleeks GC
who played for Cleeks GC in the 2024 LIV Golf season
was relegated after finishing 49th in the season's standings
and Angel Ayora was offered a two-year deal to join Cleeks GC
Ten Golf reported that Ayora weighed the offer initially but rejected it eventually
Angel Ayora, 20, was born on October 3, 2004. He recently graduated from the Challenge Tour to the DP World Tour
He competed in 24 events and made cuts in 21 of them
He had one win and seven top-10 finishes in the 2024 Challenge Tour
The Spaniard's lone win came at the 2024 Rosa Challenge Tour which he won by three shots over Dermot McElroy
He had runner-up finishes in the final two tournaments of the Challenge Tour
Hangzhou Open and Rolex Challenge Tour Grand Final
Ayora turned professional in 2023 after competing for the Eisenhower Trophy. He has also competed in a few DP World Tour and PGA Tour events
Ayora recently competed in the BMW Australian PGA Championship and ISPS Handa Australian Open
He tied for sixth and 21st in the 2024-25 DP World Tour tournaments respectively
He is currently ranked 238th in the OWGR rankings
After turning professional last year, Angel Ayora initially competed in the Q-School to gain the DP World Tour card
He even succeeded in the first and second stages of the European Tour Qualifying School but failed to earn the DP World Tour card after a dismal performance in the third stage
Let's take a look at his best performances in his professional career so far:
Your perspective matters!Start the conversation
The Spaniard has just started his professional career
and his 2024 earnings don't exceed $330,000
The news about turning down LIV's offer was published by the Spanish media TenGolf
the offer received by Angel Ayora came from the Cleeks GC team
Cleeks GC has a vacancy after Kalle Samooja was relegated at the end of the season
The report says that Angel Ayora took several days to consider the offer but eventually turned it down. In doing so, Ayora chose not to pursue the high prize money characteristic of the Greg Norman-led league
Ayora began his professional career at the end of 2023 and earned his Challenge Tour card for 2024
Ayora played 24 events on the Challenge Tour
won one tournament and finished in the top 10 in six others
Those results allowed him to finish fourth in the circuit's internal standings (called the Race to Mallorca)
Ayora has played the first two tournaments of the season on the main European circuit (Australian PGA Championship and Australian Open)
Ayora made his PGA Tour debut in 2024 at the Puerto Rico Open
Most of this amount ($266,654.42) came from his exploits on the Challenge Tour
while $55,222.66 was from the DP World Tour and $8120 for his PGA Tour performances
In deciding to remain on the DP World Tour, Ayora didn't follow in the footsteps of compatriots David Puig and Eugenio Chacarra. Both rising stars debuted on LIV Golf in 2022
LIV Golf has pursued a strategy of signing young players as well as big stars
Surratt went straight from the classroom at the University of Tennessee to Legion XIII
It's also the case of others like Matt Wolff and Joaquin Niemann
who were already established players on the PGA Tour
Ayora hasn't commented on the reasons that motivated him to turn down the offer
It seems that not everyone wants LIV Golf’s millions
And at least this young star from Spain would not accept the lucrative deal no matter how many dollars are thrown on his table
Although Angel Ayora has not confirmed the news
reports suggest the Spaniard rejected LIV Golf
approached Ayora with a two-year contract as their member Kalle Samooja was relegated
just as Ludvig Aberg rejected a deal with the breakaway circuit and said
“I will never chase money; what I do is compete,” the Spaniard followed suit
but it really is not the first time they have been denied
Ayora has represented Spain and Europe multiple times while playing for the Costa Ballena Ocean Club de Golf in Madrid
But he grew up learning golf at the La Cañada Golf Club (San Roque)
Before turning professional in November 2024
Ayora won many trophies with his Spanish team and was also given the Gold Medal of Merit from the Royal Spanish Golf Federation as his team won the European Amateur Championship in 2023
🚨🇪🇸❌ #REPORT — World #238, Angel Ayora has rejected a 2 year deal to join LIV Golf’s @Cleeks_GC, per @Tengolf pic.twitter.com/67A562IHTl
— NUCLR GOLF (@NUCLRGOLF) December 1, 2024
From the get-go, the 20-year-old pro demonstrated exceptional talent, and that’s how he made it on the DP World Tour. Just two weeks into his professional career, Angel Ayora has shown that he is capable of big things and that’s probably why LIV Golf wanted him on its roster.
Before the DP World Tour, Angel Ayora started playing on the Q-School to make it on the Challenge Tour. He took a long path to becoming a professional which panned out how he expected. As the 2023 season was concluding, Ayora came out victorious at the first stage of the European Tour Qualifying School at Donnington, whereas in the second stage, he finished tied for third. After the third stage, the 20-year-old could not get the DP World Tour card but didn’t lose hope.
Ayora instead turned his attention to the Challenge Tour and decided to play his best. He carded eleven top 15s in the 2024 season including a victory at the Rosa Challenge Tour and runner-up finishes at the Hangzhou Open and the Rolex Challenge Tour Grand Final. After his successful year, and finishing 4th on Road to Mallorca, Ayora got the European Tour card for the 2025 season.
What’s your perspective on:Angel Ayora snubs LIV Golf's millions—Is passion for the game worth more than a fat paycheck?
Moreover, he has already played two events as a DP World Tour member. He was T6 at the BMW Australian PGA Championship and finished T23 at the ISPS HANDA Australian Open. Undoubtedly, Ayora’s start on the DP World Tour is better than expected and if he continues on this path, he may soon clinch the maiden trophy. Not only that, Ayora also made his PGA Tour debut in 2024 at the Puerto Rico Open and made the cut, finishing 72nd.
After all, his role models are Tiger Woods and Seve Ballesteros and he surely wants to be like them, winning all around the globe, representing Spain, and becoming a legend to be remembered forever!

The battle between the PGA Tour and LIV Golf continues to escalate
Angel Ayora has turned down an offer to move to the LIV Golf league
The DP World Tour star was reportedly offered a two-year contract to join Martin Kaymer's Cleeks GC

Here are a few other fan reactions to Ayora staying away from the LIV Golf league:
According to a report from Sports Illustrated, Thomas Pieters has signed a deal to join the LIV Golf league. The Ryder Cup star will join Dustin Johnson's 4Aces GC team for the 2025 season
Pieters joined the Saudi-based league early in 2023 as a part of Bubba Watson's RangeGoats GC
The trade between the two teams marks the league's first official trade for the off-season
With 28 career starts on the RangeGoats GC
Pieters matches LIV Golf's record for the longest tenure on a team
the RangeGoats did not receive a player in the exchange and are left with an open spot for next year
Here's what the General Manager of the RangeGoats GC had to say about the loss of Pieters (via LIV Golf):
like her work in Cinemax’s “Banshee.” If you don’t know much about her personally
you can learn anything you need to know about her right here
which means she celebrated her 37th birthday in 2020
Her birthday probably didn’t look like it did in years past considering 2020 is the year of the pandemic
but things just don’t always work out how you planned them
Born and raised in Miami, she’s from the sunshine state
but they moved to the sunshine state and welcomed their daughter here
She learned a lot of her original heritage from her parents because they brought it with them to the states from South America
Being a ballerina takes a lot of hard work and dedication
She’s someone who has worked very hard to ensure she was very good at the art of dancing
but it’s something she wasn’t able to professional pursue
Her own ballet career ended when she was 20 thanks to an injury to a ligament that prevented her from being able to dance
she learned to speak both English and Spanish thanks to her heritage
and that’s something that is remarkable
we are not sure which of her languages is her first
so it’s easy to assume they spoke Spanish at home and English outside the home
What’s lovely about the way that she is able to live her life is that she’s very connected to her heritage from Colombia
She spent summers living there while growing up
Her parents wanted her to be able to experience the culture of their own childhoods
What a cool thing to be able to live in Florida and spend summers in Colombia
but she never saw herself as being part of them
This probably stemmed a lot from her time doing other things and really just living in the moment
but she wasn’t so into them that she sat down and studied them and longed to be a part of them
She spent a lot of her time outdoors and playing with her friends
She didn’t spend a lot of her time in the house watching television
I was also born in 1983 and didn’t spend much time indoors either – and I’m also a Floridian
She doesn’t have a starring role in her movie on Hallmark’s “The Christmas House,” but she’s okay with it
She’s playing the long-time love of a man whose brother is coming to town with his own husband for the holidays
It’s the first time two people of the same sex are playing the lead in a Hallmark movie
We cannot seem to find out much about her love life
but it looks to us as though she is not a married woman
We cannot say with certainty that she’s not with someone at the moment
but we can say pretty certainly that she does not appear to be married or have kids of her own
but she’s not letting it go to her head
She’s keeping her personal life to herself
and she’s making it clear that she has too much going on to bother with things like being too public
Tiffany embarked upon a career she never dreamed of
She became a stay-at-home mom and writer with her own blog
Her writing gained recognition and since 2009
she's written for sites such as What to Expect
and Heads Up Football Program in 2012 and 2013

The actress is probably best known for her work in Banshee, the Cinemax program about an ex-convict who assumes the identity of a local sheriff in an attempt to hide from a local crime lord by the name of Rabbit. Yes, we all know how bad guys' names go: The less intimidating they sound, all the more scary they truly are.
If you're a fan of The Boys, then you're probably very familiar with Banshee's lead, Anthony Starr, who plays Homelander in the hit Amazon Prime series. Anthony portrays Lucas Hood in the series, which aired for four seasons to both critical and audience acclaim.
Ana played a recurring role in the program's fourth and final season: Nina Cruz, a "smart, tough, streetwise deputy in Banshee's Sheriff's Department" as Fandom puts it.
Ana's compiled an impressive resume before and after her appearance on the Cinemax drama, however. One of her first listed credits is in Marley & Me where she played Viviana. She appeared in Lincoln Heights for two episodes, had a guest role in Castle, and a sizable role in The Big Wedding before nabbing a recurring role on Chop Shop as Sofia.
She played another Sofia on Major Crimes before nabbing a guest role on the MacGyver reboot as Kamila, and was even featured in the love-it-or-hate-it Captain Marvel as Agent Whitcher. Ana went on to get another high profile role in In The Dark following the release of the blockbuster flick and her latest project is 2020's The Christmas House, a Hallmark flick that's sure to make everyone feel warm and fuzzy around the holidays.

Ana's a Colombian-American actress who first dreamed of becoming a professional dancer. After sustaining a ligament injury, however, she took up modeling and then fell into acting after booking several commercials. She "made it" after landing a huge role in The Big Wedding as Nuria Soto, after years of working night shifts at American Apparel and a club called Touch.
The network's known to produce saccharine, feel-good movies — and it becomes especially inundated with content around the holidays. But The Christmas House spells a first for the network: It's the first time a movie will feature a same-sex couple as lead characters. Jonathan Bennett plays Brandon, a man who travels home with his husband, Jake, who's portrayed by Brad Harder.

The couple's "Christmas Wish" is their hope to start a family and they're eagerly awaiting news that their adoption application will be accepted and go through.
Jonathan said it was "an honor" to play a starring role in the film and make history for Hallmark: "This is the first gay storyline in a Hallmark Channel movie."
He continued, "It's the first time you see two men in love starting their own family, and that's such a groundbreaking thing because representation is important. Of all the movies I've done in 20 years in Hollywood, this movie is the most important to me because this character matters. And this character is making a difference," Jonathan said.

There’s nowhere on Earth quite like the Galápagos
This ultra-remote Ecuadorian archipelago is a rare double World Heritage Site—both land and marine territories are recognized for hosting pristine ecosystems and unique animal species
the Galápagos was already synonymous with Charles Darwin’s groundbreaking Theory of Evolution—a fascination that hasn’t faded one iota
Chances are you won’t get to visit all 19 of its mostly uninhabited islands on a single journey
though sailing through on a multi-day cruise can get you pretty close
we certainly wouldn’t discourage land-based trips
which can be a much more affordable option
Consider basing yourself in vibrant Puerto Ayora on Santa Cruz Island
where most inter-island ferries and excursions depart
Celebrity Flora Cruise
A seven-day loop on the Celebrity Flora presents a life-changing sampling of the Galápagos
Purpose-built for the environmentally fragile island group
the vessel—a 50-cabin megayacht—was engineered with a slew of eco-innovations
including anchorless dynamic positioning to protect seabeds and deck lighting that minimizes attraction from insects past dusk
Flights from Quito to Baltra (the Galápagos’ main airport) are included in the passenger fee
Finch Bay
Finch Bay is the only beachfront hotel on Santa Cruz—and by far the poshest in the Galápagos
The nature-focused retreat blends into its secluded surroundings with lush landscaping and low-slung buildings; rooms feature local artwork and contemporary island-inspired furnishings
Of all the excursions offered by Finch Bay’s concierge team
the ability to book tours on the resort’s private yacht is a privilege that’s hard to beat
La Calle de Los Kioskos
There’s no better place for authentic island grub than Kioskos Street in Puerto Ayora—especially if it’s fresh-caught lobster you’re craving
The series of street vendors specialize in local cuisine
especially the famous Galápagos spiny lobster
El Kiosko de William and El Kiosko de Renato are two of the most popular kioskos
Ukku Açaí Bar
healthy vegetarian breakfasts and lunches are the specialty at Ukku
There’s also super-fast Wi-Fi in case you need to catch up on some remote work

This waterfront restaurant and bar is a solid spot on Puerto Ayora’s main drag for lunch and dinner overlooking Academy Bay
The kitchen innovates on Ecuadorian flavors with shareable plates and seafood dishes like grilled tuna filet in a peanut crust and fried fish with avocado salad
There’s a lot of variety on the drinks menu
Almar Seafood and Grill
As the signature restaurant at the luxury lodge Galápagos Habitat
Almar also has a stellar bayfront location surrounded by mangroves
Grab a seat on the patio in time for sunset happy hour
Bongo Bar
This rooftop bar is the most happening nightlife destination in Puerto Ayora
Don’t expect anything fancy—Bongo Bar is a sweaty good time with thumping Caribbean beats

It’s well worth the water taxi from Puerto Ayora to dive into this trio of picturesque swimming holes
it’s just a short hike from the hotel.) While access runs at around $10 per person
or strolling the surrounding lava fields and old salt mines
This stretch of talc-fine sand is a 30-minute walk (or quick water taxi ride) from Puerto Ayora—and it’s one of the best beaches in all the Galapagos
Whether you’re lounging about or renting a kayak
keep an eye out for the park’s most famous residents including seals

being set in the year 1995; 15 years before Tony Stark first stepped into that iconic armor
Because of its early place in the timeline and the current trajectory of the franchise
we probably won’t get to see very much of the Captain Marvel era going forward
meaning that more than a few of the film’s characters may be lost to time in the present day
One of these characters was brought to life by one Ana Ayora
In Captain Marvel, Ayora portrays Agent Whitcher, a S.H.I.E.L.D. agent who was active in the year 1995, and who is not to be confused with a certain fantasy protagonist in the midst of his third escapade
That’s all the information that seems to be available on Whitcher
and we’d wager that that’s all the information we’re ever going to get; the character’s involvement was nothing short of trivial in the film
and we have our doubts that the fan demand for a Whitcher story has the traction it needs to be willed into existence
Captain Marvel is available to stream on Disney Plus
