The flooding in south-east Spain that has killed at least 52 people damaged the circuit where the MotoGP season finale is set to take place
Circuito Ricardo Tormo’s access roads were badly damaged
although the racing surface itself appears to be unscathed
according to a statement by the Formula E series
which is set to test at the facility next week
Video on social media showed huge sinkholes in the access road leading to the track
Formula E representatives at the circuit were trapped and had to spend the night inside the track facility
according to a statement issued by the series
“Our thoughts go out to those affected by the extreme weather conditions in Spain
Due to damage to the main access road caused by a burst river bank nearby
the circuit is currently inaccessible by vehicle,” the series said in a statement posted on its website
“Four members of Formula E staff stayed at the circuit last night as a precaution
but are safe and able to transfer to and from the circuit by foot
and we continue to assess garages and freight
Alternative access routes in and out of the circuit are currently being investigated.”
BBC news reports say that the region experienced a year’s worth of rainfall in eight hours
The Associated Press currently is reporting 52 confirmed deaths

is the best mural of 2024 according to 10 expert urban art artists
The mural “Ocelote Ornamental”
has been awarded as the best mural in the world in the “Artist Choice” category of the Best of Awards 2024
organized by the Street Art Cities platform
These “Oscars” of urban art have recognized the work located in Cheste (Valencia)
selected by a renowned jury formed by 10 urban art artists and subsequently voted by the public through the Internet
“Ocelote Ornamental” is not just a mural
it is a tribute to nature in the heart of Cheste
emerges from the wall in a display of talent and creativity
combines the precision of portraiture and the beauty of natural elements with influences ranging from modernist sculpture and gargoyles to tattoo art
Those who want to visit this work closely can do so at Rey Don Jaime Street
the work represents much more than a simple mural
It is a “guardian” that beautifies and protects the urban environment of Cheste: “I wanted to create a piece that was not only aesthetically impressive
but also had a message of protection and respect for the biodiversity of the planet,” explains the artist in a statement
Bublegum’s “Rinascimento” mural was also a finalist in the Best Of category
which demonstrates the impact of his work in the world of urban art

The full impact of every initiative and donation is now confirmed
MotoGP’s total contribution to our Racing for Valencia recovery fund can now be confirmed as €1.6 million
The figure comes from fundraising initiatives both at the Motul Solidarity Grand Prix of Barcelona and online
and a final figure of €1 million added to the total by MotoGP rights holder Dorna Sports
the on-site and online auctions of memorabilia and experiences raised more than €300,000 – all made possible by the generosity of the riders
teams and partners who donated items to each auction
also contributed a sizeable €100,000 standalone donation to our Caixabank fund
and the Barcelona Chamber of Commerce donated €50,000 – getting us even closer to our impressive total
every fan onsite at the sold-out Solidarity GP or watching around the world each made their own contribution
enabling MotoGP rights holder Dorna Sports to do the same
Dorna was the promoter of the Solidarity GP as a commitment to delivering a fitting conclusion to a history-making season – for the riders
our partners and the millions of fans looking forward to the event
The fans who were able to join us on-site more than matched that commitment as we sold out maximum capacity, and the collective effort from the paddock, the circuit and all our partners made it a weekend to remember. The event was also named Best GP of 2024
rewarding the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya for their hard work behind the scenes
In lieu of simply donating the profit generated by ticket sales as part of the investment made in staging the event
Dorna has decided to increase its contribution in recognition of this collective effort and donate a full €1 million to the funds raised for Valencia
The €1.6 million total from all our MotoGP initiatives will now go towards the recovery of the towns closest to the Circuit Ricardo Tormo
They are the communities who would usually receive the positive economic impact of hosting the season finale
Dorna Sports CEO Carmelo Ezpeleta visited the two towns as the final donation is announced
MotoGP makes a positive impact wherever we race
and places a high value on our role in communities in which we’re present
To all those who joined us #RacingforValencia during the Solidarity GP
from the riders and teams putting on the show to the fans watching around the world or in the stands
and everyone in between: thank you for being part of it
Amancio Ortega and Elon Musk, at Odds Over a Plot of Land in Spain | Europa Press, DAPA Images, Lunamarina LIFESTYLE Shocking
Amancio Ortega Trembles: Elon Musk Makes a Shocking Decision in SpainElon Musk
face off over a desired piece of land in Valencia01/04/2025 14:02:00h by Aida Cristòfol
Elon Musk and Amancio Ortega are in the midst of a battle
Both magnates have set their sights on a piece of land in Spain that they both see as key to their future
is the stage for this struggle between two of the most powerful figures in their sectors
Far from being a simple conflict of interests
Both want to build a megafactory that could transform Spain's industrial landscape
are fighting over land that could define Europe's future
Both magnates have an eye on this Valencian land | Europa Press, Addin, AddinaimadaElon Musk and Amancio Ortega, at Odds Over Land in SpainTwo of the richest men on the planet, Elon Musk and Amancio Ortega
have set their sights on a logistical gem in Spain to expand their empires
The La Ceja-Cañada Arena industrial park is strategically located for any industrial project
It is perfectly connected to the Mediterranean corridor and has easy rail access to Valencia and Madrid
it is just half an hour from the Port of Valencia
one of the most active in Europe in terms of container traffic
the land is not only attractive to local companies but also to global giants like Musk and Ortega
who seek to leverage this location to take their businesses to the next level
Elon Musk sees in this industrial park the perfect opportunity to build a battery gigafactory for Tesla's electric cars
An investment of 5 billion euros could not only generate thousands of jobs but also establish Tesla as a leader in battery manufacturing within the European Union
Inditex's Presence in Cheste Would Strengthen Amancio Ortega's Position | Europa Press
this would allow Musk to avoid tariffs that will be applied to batteries produced in China
it would provide him access to a highly competitive European market
increasingly demanding cleaner and more sustainable energy solutions
But the land in Cheste not only attracts automotive giants
has his own plans for this strategic location
sees in this industrial park the opportunity to expand its distribution network in Spain
Amancio Ortega plans to set up two large distribution centers in Cheste for his brands Bershka and Tempe
With logistics as one of the pillars of the textile industry
and access to the Mediterranean corridor make this industrial park the ideal location for Inditex
Interested in Acquiring Land in the Valencian Community | Europa PressHowever
Inditex's presence in Cheste would strengthen Ortega's position in the competitive European fashion market
Especially at a time when sustainability and speed in distribution are key to maintaining leadership in the sector
Inditex's expansion on this land could be crucial for its consolidation in the European market
It would also help improve the efficiency of its operations
The La Ceja-Cañada Arena industrial park presents itself as a unique and attractive place for both magnates
and there are many unknowns about who will manage to acquire this land
there is a factor that could put Musk in a more favorable position: the fact that the land is not yet urbanized
This could delay the start of construction
which would go against Inditex's plans to begin operations in 2025
If the land's urbanization process is prolonged
and it remains to be seen who will secure this land

The news that the 2024 MotoGP world championship finals will no longer take place in Valencia after DANA has had a huge impact on many fans
“MotoGP requested the authorities to race in Barcelona as it was the best possible choice,” said MotoGP organisers
“The track is the easiest option for fans who were already planning to attend the MotoGP season finale
The location and circuit are also the most efficient choice
providing a close to seamless alternative for personnel and logistics.” Ricardo Tormo experienced extensive damage after DANA struck
and the town of Cheste was also one of the worst areas hit
The tickets for the MotoGP World Final have been a sell-out
but now many fans are faced with a big dilemma
Those who have already purchased tickets can either change all their travel plans and pay additional costs to reach Barcelona or they can take the option being offered and defer their tickets to the MotoGP final in 2025
The dates of the final (November 15th-17th) will remain the same, but now that the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya will host the finals
the same circuit that also hosted the sixth round of the championships in May
it means fans who have planned for the event months in advance are facing choices that might not benefit them in any way
Changing accommodations and flights will be costly and if they have no other option other than to fly into Valencia airport
the situation regarding road travel in the region is still precarious
The impact of venue change will also impact Cheste
the town where the Ricardo Tormo circuit is located
The MotoGP is a yearly event that involves the whole community and visitors flock to Cheste simply to view the live footage from the circuit which is displayed on a big outdoor screen in the main plaza
restaurant and business takes part in the MotoGP Cheste fiesta and the financial losses they are likely to incur could mean trouble for their companies moving forward after the floods

The 2024 Valencia GP is canceled due the the devastating floods in the region
The Circuit of Barcelona-Catalunya will host the final MotoGP race of 2024
after devastating floods destroyed many towns in the Valencia region of Spain
including those around the Ricardo Tormo Circuit
Series owner Dorna initially indicated it planned to plow ahead with the final round at its original venue
But that possibility made many in the MotoGP paddock uncomfortable
with a recent death toll in the hundreds and poised to rise further
while thousands of homes have been affected
Marc Marquez stated it would be “unethical” to race there
Yet the decision to move the final race was welcomed by almost every rider
and it’s the one that all riders were pushing for,” said Alex Marquez
“Every day that passes [in Valencia] there is more of a nightmare.” And the riders are determined to find a way of helping those affected
“I will try and see how we can help Valencia and raise some money,” said Aleix Espargaro
some riders are concerned at the thought of racing at Montmelo in mid-November
The clockwise layout features two left-handers which can be tricky to tackle during the normal race date in June due to the left side of the front tire losing temperature
Dorna’s Chief Sporting Officer Carlos Ezpeleta said that “Barcelona is the best possible place” to replace the canceled Valencia round and that a request has been made to the Government Catalunya
“We thought it was important to tell the riders before they went out on track yesterday
especially those in contention for positions
that there would be another event on the calendar
It’s been a very challenging couple of days
much more so for the Community of Valencia of course
but we think that—given the situation the Championship is in
but also for fans across the world—we thought it was important to hold a final event of the season
“We have been looking at all the possibilities we had
it’s very challenging to organize an event in two weeks
but during the last 48 hours we’ve looked at all possible alternatives
We think that Barcelona is the best possible place given the proximity to Valencia
given that a lot of people were already travelling through to get to the finale
and especially for fans – we think it’s the best possible place for them
We also know we will be able to help the Community of Valencia from that location as well
“That’s why we’ve requested the Government of Catalunya to be able to hold the event there
They want to communicate and align themselves with both the Government of Spain and that of Valencia before confirming the event
and we hope that confirmation comes in the next 48 hours
“But the urgency right now is Valencia—not confirming our GP
It’s something we can wait for and once it’s confirmed we’ll start working as hard as possible
as it’s definitely a challenge but we think there’s a lot of good we can do and we feel owe it to our fans
We want to thank the entire MotoGP community
The race organizers issued the following statement on November 1
MotoGP stands with the Community of Valencia following the devastating floods that have affected the area
Our hearts are with all those who have been lost and those who have lost so much
We have been in constant contact with the local authorities and the circuit to best assess how we can help and how we should proceed
We have a responsibility to every region where we race that goes far beyond the sport and the events
After carefully weighing up the potential positive impact of MotoGP racing in Valencia on delayed dates versus ensuring no single resource is diverted from the recovery efforts by the presence of MotoGP
the championship and local authorities have been obliged to cancel the 2024 Valencia GP
The championship will put our collective efforts behind backing the relief funds already in place to ensure our positive impact can connect with the area in the way it best serves the people and communities we have been part of for so long
Our efforts will begin during the Malaysian GP and continue at the final round of 2024
with a new venue and dates to be announced as soon as confirmed
and paddock deserve a sporting finale to the 2024 season
and one that can make a key contribution to supporting the communities we race in
Any further information regarding the season finale will be confirmed as soon as possible
Stay tuned to Cycle News for further updates as we get them
The following is an update from October 30
Spain’s Valencia region suffered severe storms and flash flooding that has caused extensive damage to the region and
a still unknown number of deaths and injuries
MotoGP issued the following statement earlier today
Storms and flash flooding hit the south east of Spain on Tuesday
with over a year’s worth of rain falling in only hours according to the Spanish Weather Service
including both Chiva and Cheste near the circuit
at least 51 people have so far been confirmed as dead in the extreme weather conditions
general manager of the Ricardo Tormo Circuit
“The most important thing is that all the people who were at the Circuit are fine
everyone has been able to spend the night safely at the Circuit facilities,” said Nicolás Collado
“Now a damage assessment process begins that will tell us to what extent this DANA will affect the holding of our next events with full guarantees.”
Ricardo Tormo Circuit posted the following on their website:
The Ricardo Tormo Circuit has begun work to assess the multiple damages suffered as a result of the DANA [Depresión Aislada en Niveles Altos] that devastated the interior of the province of Valencia on Tuesday
Although after an initial inspection the track is in optimal condition
a large part of the access and parking infrastructure has been seriously damaged and needs urgent repair in view of the Motul Grand Prix of the Valencian Community
the last round of the world motorcycle championship on 15
More than 200 litres per square metre in less than twelve hours and above all the flow of water
mud and other elements from the Sechera ravine and the Poyo Ravine
have been the cause of the damage to the car parks and the main access to the Cheste facilities
Nearly a 100 people have had to spend the night in different locations at the Cheste facilities
offices and other places far from the current have served as temporary shelter for operators assembling the claws and stands
part of the Formula E logistics team and maintenance
security and office staff at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit
Formula E’s preseason test was due to take place at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo next week
A statement from Formula E stated the following:
Our thoughts go out to those affected by the extreme weather conditions in Spain
In light of the situation that has developed overnight in Valencia
we are working closely with the local authorities and representatives of the Ricardo Tormo Circuit in Valencia ahead of the scheduled FIA Formula E official test next week
the circuit is currently inaccessible by vehicle
Four members of Formula E staff stayed at the circuit last night as a precaution
Alternative access routes in and out of the circuit are currently being investigated
We are closely monitoring the situation and will provide further updates in due course

The final round of the 2024 MotoGP season may well be in doubt after Spain’s Valencia region was hit this week with severe flash flooding that has tragically left over 50 people dead and caused extensive damage to the Circuit Ricardo Tormo
The Spanish circuit is set to host what looks set to be the deciding round of the championship battle between title leader Jorge Martin and reigning champion Pecco Bagnaia in only two weeks’ time
but with the track and the surrounding area bearing the brunt of the recent extreme weather conditions

“Yesterday was the worst day of my life,” Ricardo Gabaldon
Cars and trash containers were flowing down the streets
My god. Extreme damage to the main road into the circuit in Valencia, and the minimoto circuit is gone 😱 pic.twitter.com/iIDWADSZLK
added: "The most important thing is that all the people who were at the Circuit are fine
everyone has been able to spend the night safely at the Circuit facilities
"Now a damage assessment process begins that will tell us to what extent this [Storm] Dana will affect the holding of our next events with full guarantees."
Video footage on social media shows extensive damage to the Circuit Ricardo Tormo
with the main entrance road to the track swept away and impassable
The minimoto track located near the main gate is also completely destroyed
and there are reports that the circuit’s external car parks have been flooded
with MotoGP organisers Dorna unlikely to want to place local authorities under the added pressure of hosting a major sporting event expected to bring 100,000 people into the area while search and reconstruction efforts continue
it could well be that the final round of the championship is in danger
That would mark the second time this season that extreme weather has caused the cancellation of a MotoGP race, after extensive flooding in the northern provinces of Kazakhstan saw what should have been the Sokol circuit’s inaugural race first get delayed before then being cancelled
it means that a race against time is underway to try and find an alternate venue to conclude the season - something that may well prove impossible with only two weeks' notice
leaving the title rivals in an unprecedented situation as they go into this weekend’s penultimate round at the Malaysian Grand Prix
It’s possible that other southern European circuits like Jerez or Portimao could potentially gear up in time to host a race with only two weeks’ notice
especially if it were to take place with a reduced number of guests and spectators
but still represents a not insignificant logistical hurdle that organisers are likely now preparing for
The Race approached Dorna for comment but did not receive a reply at the time of publication
Formula E's 2024-25 pre-season test was due to take place at the Circuit Ricardo Tormo next week
"Our thoughts go out to those affected by the extreme weather conditions in Spain
We are working closely with the local authorities and representatives of the Ricardo Tormo Circuit in Valencia ahead of the scheduled FIA Formula E official test next week," a statement from Formula E read
"Due to damage to the main access road caused by a burst river bank nearby
"We are closely monitoring the situation and will provide further updates in due course."

The work requires prior reconnaissance to delimit the affected areas and secure the land where the footbridges will be installed
The work being carried out by the Spanish Armed Forces in the localities affected by the DANA is evolving to adapt to the new requirements of the situation
bilge pumping and mud removal tasks are continuing
but new capacities are being added to reconstruct the area
support for infrastructures that facilitate mobility and accessibility is of great importance
the EMU and the Spanish Army are already working on installing three bridges
they are working together to carry out the work
while the Spanish Army will be in charge of another bridge installation in Ribarroja and the EMU will handle installing another one in the town of Cheste
The work involves a preliminary survey and study of the area and the structuring of the work protocol for installing the footbridges
The engineers are already immersed in this new mission
which is reminiscent of others that have been carried out in other places
the force of the water also swept away three bridges that connected the town with surrounding municipalities
the Spanish Army will once again assist in reconstructing this type of infrastructure by installing Mabey logistical support bridges
capable of reaching spans of up to 81 metres
with great resistance and the capacity to support large volumes of traffic
They are used primarily for main supply routes
replacing damaged civilian bridges and replacing temporary footbridges and general support bridges
They are also used as overbridges for damaged or weakened bridges and are often deployed as part of emergency responses to natural disasters

The fate of the MotoGP 2024 season finale in Valencia is a "secondary" matter amid deadly flooding in the area
And several of the competitors on the premier-class grid have made it clear that they don't see hosting a round at Circuit Ricardo Tormo just two weeks after the worst of the devastation as tenable
The official death toll from the floods in the area brought on by massive amounts of rainfall is approaching triple figures
and devastation to local infrastructure has been made obvious by reports and photos
The Ricardo Tormo track itself, located near the town of Cheste to the west of Valencia, has suffered "multiple damages" to its facilities, most notably the entry to the circuit - though the track surface is said to remain in "optimal" shape
But this is widely regarded as irrelevant by those riding in MotoGP while the championship itself awaits further information and determines its next steps
"It's not the time to think if there'll be a GP or not," said Gresini Ducati rider Alex Marquez
It's not easy for all the Spanish but especially for the Valencia people
But now we cannot just focus on the facilities of the track and everything
"More important is the people that don't have a home
than whether we'll have a GP there or not."
Marquez then paused before adding: "Honestly speaking
to think that there will be a GP there in one week and a half is difficult
We need to be realistic and we need to be human
for me it's not correct if we go there in one week and a half
[repair] the entry of the circuit and all that
His elder brother Marc - when speaking to international media - stopped just short of saying he thought MotoGP shouldn't race in Valencia
but also acknolwedged that that "all the [local] facilities" need to be working towards the people in strife
and that there would be "no meaning" in trying to repair the track "while having many people without houses"
"Let's see what they will do," he concluded. He then told Spanish media that he didn't want to make a statement before changing his mind and admitting he felt "it would be a mistake
ethically speaking" for the race to take place
There are "much bigger priorities" than the race
"I would like to send all my support to the families
to those working to try to come back to a good situation there," he said
"For sure they will need to have a strong winter there
At the moment for sure MotoGP is on a secondary level
"Dorna and [independent teams' association] IRTA will take a decision about the race
but I think going there is not the correct moment
It's something that we lived also in first person in Emilia Romagna
what happened there last year and this year
It's something that I really know very well
and it's super dramatic for everybody that lives there."
"The images and videos that are arriving on social media are nothing [compared to reality]," said Aprilia's Aleix Espargaro
"I talked with some friends that are not living in Valencia but in some small village around Valencia
and they told me everything is super collapsed
His team-mate Maverick Vinales said racing this weekend at Sepang felt like a "sidenote"
This is something catastrophic," he added - but said he didn't know what MotoGP should do
Vinales' former team-mate Fabio Quartararo (Yamaha) was in the same boat
and could only offer "big support" to those affected
he felt it was minor enough to where he expected the race to take place
And KTM rider Jack Miller said he would have no issue racing in Valencia if that was the decision
but emphasised that "clean-up" resources should never go to a track at the expense of main roads and other crucial infrastructure
"If we can give Valencia something back - I don't know how
we can give our prize money for example - I would do it 100 percent," said Espargaro of racing
Obviously right now I think it's the less important thing
I'm thinking if we're able to go there and race somehow
MotoGP cannot delay the Valencia round - the mid-November temperatures there are already at the very limit of viability for MotoGP racing - but nor can it easily switch the venue for its season finale
It has had three separate cancellations as part of its 2024 calendar
The Argentine Grand Prix was never replaced
the Kazakhstan Grand Prix was postponed and provisionally took the slot of the cancelled Indian Grand Prix - and then too was cancelled
albeit did get replaced by a second round at Misano
Ducati riders Jorge Martin and Pecco Bagnaia are split by 17 points in the standings
which means the likelihood of the riders' championship not being decided at Sepang - something that would require Martin to leave with a 38-point margin or more - is very
"I believe that the championship the way it is
"Two weeks in Malaysia would be perfectly fine by me."
Espargaro - though a good friend of Martin
who would theoretically stand to benefit from a cancellation - also said it would be "fair" if the title fight played out over two more rounds
But Marini acknowledged there are "quite a lot of problems" in making an impromptu season finale happen
"It's not a matter of finding a place - finding a place is for me the easiest thing to do
then you also need to check with Michelin if we have [the correct] tyres or not..
"I think that they [MotoGP] are trying to find the best solution for everybody
Multiple back-up plans have so far been floated - and some options are certainly more realistic than others
A second Sepang round to complete a double-header weekend there is on the 'almost impossible' end of the spectrum - given that Michelin will not have a suitable supply of tyres ready to run an additional weekend on
Valencia's tyres cannot simply be reused for another track
thanks to the asymmetric design for the predominantly left-hand circuit
meaning that the French firm will likely need at least a few weeks to construct the few hundred custom-made tyres needed for an extra
with the considerable logistical challenges presented by hosting a race at very short notice
it means that it would probably be unlikely anyway that another venue could take over from Valencia in that calendar spot - even if tyres weren't a factor
with Europe's cold weather closing in as December approaches
the paddock favourite option is currently Qatar's Lusail circuit and its mild winter climate
Set to host Formula 1 on the first weekend in December
it would be a relatively painless task to keep at least some of the infrastructure in place to allow MotoGP to head there a week later
giving the Lusail track the unique chance to both open and close the 2024 season
Today heavy rain in Valencia restricted the number of laps completed by the class of 2015
and some chose not to test at all as steady rain fell throughout the day
Repsol Honda’s Marc Marquez ventured out on track at 12pm for three exits and completed a total of 17 laps aboard the 2014 spec RC213V machine
Marc worked with a new brake disc and callipers to check performance in colder conditions
He and his team will look to confirm their findings in hot conditions during the Sepang test next February
Marc’s fastest time of 1’45.715 (lap 16/17) placed him 8th for the day
who yesterday tested the new 2015 prototype bike
Both riders will be hoping for better weather for the final day tomorrow in order to give feedback to the HRC engineers before the Winter break
“Today was a day in which we couldn’t do too much
we managed to test a couple of things in the wet which worked well for us
but at least we could make a little progress with our workload
The weather forecast for tomorrow is for better than today

Like most riders from the US, Hayden started out in dirt track, wrestling bikes around loosely surfaced oval circuits and learning the art of throttle control. It is no coincidence that many European racers, including Rossi and the reigning MotoGP champion Marc Márquez
now include this discipline in their training regimes
The family enjoyed its proudest moment when Nicky
Tommy and Roger Lee finished one-two-three at the Springfield Grand National in Illinois
Meanwhile Rose and his sisters competed in so called “powder-puff” dirt-track races
Hayden rode throughout his career with the number 69
who liked it because it read the same whether the bike was right way up or not
Hayden’s dirt-track skills stood him in good stead when he graduated to racing on asphalt in the late 1990s
American Honda soon recognised his talent and signed the youngster
who won the 1999 600cc US Supersport championship and the 2002 1000cc US Superbike title

Hayden had so much to learn during his early years on the global scene: new motorcycles
His dedication to his cause was outstanding. He worked very hard; always the last man out on track when his team went testing to fine-tune his motorcycles and develop new parts. He won his first MotoGP race in 2005 at his home event, the US Grand Prix at Laguna Seca, California

Earl owned a car dealership in Owensboro called Second Chance Autos
“I don’t want y’all thinking it’s the kind of place where doctors and attorneys go buy their cars.”
Hayden endured several years in the doldrums after his 2006 title success
New technical regulations transformed MotoGP bikes from fire-breathing 990cc motorcycles into smaller
These bikes required a different riding technique that did not allow Hayden to exploit his skills so successfully
In 2008 he left Honda to join the Italian manufacturer Ducati
which also had its difficulties staying competitive with the dominant Japanese manufacturers
Hayden scored a handful of top-three results aboard Ducati’s Desmosedici
but it was always obvious that he was riding to the limits of the bike
Lingering injuries caused him other problems
Finally in 2016 he left the MotoGP paddock to join the World Superbike series
Last year in Malaysia he won his first World Superbike race
This season he stayed with the same team and was lying 13th in the points standings
He suffered serious head injuries and never regained consciousness
the MotoGP season has concluded with the Valencia GP
which is more likely in mid-to-late November
The Circuit Ricardo Tormo debuted on the calendar in 1999 and has consistently been among the last rounds of the year
it only became the official season finale in 2022
which has since become a tradition—broken only in 2020 due to the pandemic and again this year due to the effects of storm Dana in the Valencia region
the original schedule had planned for the circuit to host the season’s end
Journalist Diego Lacave mentioned on Nico Abad’s podcast that there is ongoing discussion about changing Valencia’s position on the calendar
allowing the season to end in Asia instead:
discussions have taken place within the Grand Prix Commission institutions – namely
this last event in Valencia is coming too late in November
and probably in the coming years – once the current contract ends and isn’t renewed – the championship may move Cheste to a different spot on the calendar because Cheste is essential
But the World Championship finale could be in Asia
the Valencia GP has gradually been pushed later in the year (for many years
it typically took place from late October to early November)
The first time the season ended outside Europe was in 1961 with the Argentina GP
while Japan hosted the first Asian season finale in 1963

The Ricardo Tormo circuit in Cheste (Valence) has trusted in Hikvisión to install the stroke control system
A solution that takes care of the management both from the sports point of view
as in the field of physical security of all persons involved
The Hikvision installation is composed of three subsystems
The first of these is the capture of images
who are responsible for following the vehicles without losing sight of them at any time
and to control the limits of the track to ensure that the drivers do not take illegal advantage in the corners
The versatility and precision of the cameras (2MP IP PTZ
next to the embarked ones that are in the cranes and the body ones that can be carried by the track commissioners) allow you to obtain clear and real-time images of any point of the circuit
with a powerful NVR from Hikvision with 128 video inputs and a storage capacity of 16 disk drives up to 10 TB each
that offers redundancy and all the agility necessary to carry out in a few seconds the checks that the competition requires
and individual checkpoints from which an operator can choose the most appropriate image at any given time
The software that allows to manage the entire system and that speeds up the interaction between all the elements that make up the solution is HikCentral
"The particularity of the motor world is the speed of the vehicles and the speed of decision-making.
That is why we need technological equipment of very high quality and that allows you to react quickly in any circumstance.
And Hikvision has provided them to us."

THE RICARDO TORMO MOTOR RACING CIRCUIT OF THE VALÈNCIA COMMUNITY
together with the favourable weather conditions enjoyed in the Valencian Community (including of course the Hoya de Buñol area where the track can be found) have lead the "Circuit de la Comunitat Valenciana Ricardo Tormo" to become an obligatory reference point for many race teams attracted by the possibility of making use of its excellent facilities all year round
Without doubt the outstanding feature of the "Circuit de la Comunitat Valenciana Ricardo Tormo" is the placing of all the civil buildings
pilots and services etc outside of the track layout
The fact that these space-consuming areas have been placed outside of the track layout is the main difference
Valencia's circuit has over other European racetracks
It means it is the most flexible of all European racetracks in terms of the combinations and use of the greatest number of track layouts
The Circuit is to be found in a one and a half million square acre plot in the Cambrillas area within the city limits of Cheste
