Carnival in Castellón | EDATV NEWS El Grao Bows to the Grand Carnival Parade
a Success of Participation and ColorA total of 13 floats
paraded through the main arteries of the maritime district of Castellón.03/03/2025 13:22:00h by Jesus Wollstein
Castellón experienced a vibrant day with the Grand Carnival Parade
which attracted thousands of people to the streets of Grao
joined by Deputy Mayor Ester Giner and other councilors
didn't hesitate to highlight the effort of the festival committee and the Grao Deputy Mayor's Office
which this year managed to surpass the previous edition with record participation
one of the most anticipated events of the Carnival program
traveled the main arteries of the maritime district
followed by groups that joined the celebration on foot
from the most traditional to the most innovative
the public enjoyed a spectacle full of color
Carrasco highlighted the importance of Carnival as an economic engine for the city
emphasizing that "it's a tourist boost that benefits our businesses and hospitality." This event
in addition to being an essential cultural appointment
has established itself as a key element for the revitalization of the local economy
The parade was joined by brass bands and the Batucada dels Dimonis de la Plana
which set the rhythm for a street parade that traveled through Churruca
The event also included the traditional costume contest
with special prizes for the most creative floats
After a night full of festivities with the 'sopar de pa i porta,' the Grand Parade once again became the soul of the Carnival
consolidating itself as one of the city's main celebrations
Polls reflect a worrying scenario for Pedro Sánchez. Although PSOE maintains a loyal voter base, Sumar's weakness threatens to collapse the investiture bloc. | EDATV NEWS Sumar's Weakness Puts Sánchez's Government in CheckThe collapse of the far left could facilitate an absolute majority for PP and Vox
leaving PSOE without options.02/03/2025 16:08:00h by Juan Manuel Pulido
Polls reflect a worrying scenario for Pedro Sánchez
Although PSOE maintains a loyal voter base
Sumar's weakness threatens to collapse the investiture bloc
which in July 2023 contributed 30 key seats for governance
Only 40% of its voters would repeat their support
while the rest are migrating toward Podemos
Sumar's fall not only implies a loss of seats but also creates a domino effect
PSOE has managed to capture some of those voters
but not in sufficient numbers to compensate for the losses
The result is a loss of parliamentary strength that makes a political cycle change increasingly likely
The wear and tear of Sánchez's Government is reflected in the discontent of left-wing voters
lack of cohesion in Sumar and controversies over taxes and the minimum wage have created a fracture difficult to mend
A significant percentage of former Sumar voters have moved to abstention or indecision
weakening the bloc's ability to compete in future elections
PSOE tries to stop this hemorrhage by intensifying its discourse
Sánchez has resorted to the strategy of presenting himself as the only brake against the "international far-right"
this narrative isn't resonating enough with his electorate
A significant percentage of former Sumar voters has moved to abstention or indecision
| EuropapressPP and Vox Advance While PSOE StagnatesOn the other end of the political spectrum
PP and Vox haven't experienced significant growth in votes
but the left's decline brings them closer to an absolute majority
the sum of both parties could reach between 185 and 190 seats
a result that would make Sánchez's continuity impossible
PP remains trapped in an ambiguous discourse without a clear alternative to the country model built by PSOE in recent decades
the Government's inaction and the left's fracture have turned Feijóo's party into a viable option for a center-right electorate seeking stability
has managed to capitalize on the frustration of voters discontented with PP
Its growth is especially notable among new voters
where it is already the party with the highest voting intention
it has managed to attract 650,000 former PP voters
consolidating its position as an essential partner in a future right-wing government
One of the most determining factors in the possible political cycle change is abstention
Data show that 20% of voters from each party are in a position of indecision
This phenomenon especially affects the left
PSOE has tried to compensate for these losses by capturing voters from nationalist parties
a strategy that has worked in other general elections
Bildu's rise in the Basque Country and the internal crisis in ERC complicate this vote transfer
the increase in abstention among traditional PSOE voters could be lethal
by February 2025 abstention will exceed 35%
| EuropapressA Complicated Horizon for SánchezWith more than two years to go before the general elections
Sumar's inability to remain a relevant force and the demobilization of progressive voters pave the way for a right-wing victory
the current investiture bloc will be insufficient to keep Sánchez in power
PSOE could be forced to face a historic defeat with the right ready to take over
The greatest lesson Félix Martínez Roda learnt from his father
there’s simply the need to love wine.’ This remains the main principle guiding him at the helm of the family’s estate
as the guardian of a unique legacy: an unfailing commitment to the region of Utiel-Requena and to Bobal
Vera de Estena’s library cellar has some of the oldest examples of the region’s flagship variety
proving its potential to produce age-worthy wines
Francisco Martínez Bermell settled in Utiel to take the helm of his family’s production winery
With him he brought a strong connection with his family’s wine lineage and a deep hope in better days to come
Soon after establishing himself in Requena
Francisco met his wife-to-be; together they started their own project
Having developed a close friendship with Don Pascual Carrión
then the director of the progressive Oenologic Station of Requena
the couple delved deeper into the history and terroir of the region
gaining invaluable technical knowledge and an understanding of how this land could
yield the best grapes to produce world-class wines
The culmination of this process would be the release of Vera de Estenas’ first bottled wines in the 1980s
when the family was already settled at Casa Don Ángel – still the company’s operational and spiritual headquarters today
Francisco was already being helped by his older sons in the stewardship of the family’s winery
to fully take over from his father and lead Vera de Estenas into the 21st century
Félix Martínez Roda – alongside his nephew Eduardo – is the guardian of this incredible entrepreneurial
wood…’ – the elements that shape the philosophy of Vera de Estenas
simple components that draw a direct connection between the vineyard and the glass
imbued with an unpretentious classicism – these are wines that transcend fashions and the test of time
the varieties and of the people whose lives have been intertwined with them from birth
is a thread of memories and emotions – a narrative of a personal connection to the land of Utiel-Requena
Each bottle still evokes the afternoon when its founder was taken by his grandmother Filomena to the family winery in El Grao
the small seaside village where his great grandfather Don Pedro Pons had strategically built it close to the port
Francisco was overwhelmed with wonder at the sight of the big vats
spiralling staircases and imposing oak vessels
He would never forget the complex aroma that filled the winery – cleanliness
– a memory that accompanied and inspired him until his last days
The same memory that guides Félix and Eduardo today
there’s simply the need to love wine.’

A SUSPECTED shark attack on a tourist beach in Spain left a young girl with deep wounds to her foot
The 11-year-old was bitten while swimming in shallow waters off Grao de Moncofa
just south of the tourist resort of Benicassim and two hours from Benidorm
Lifeguards had to give her first aid treatment to stem heavy bleeding when her dad lifted her from the water
She was then rushed in an ambulance to a nearby health centre after the alleged attack at midday on Saturday
The company that provides lifeguards in the area said that while they could not confirm it was a shark bite, they had "never seen anything like it", local paper El Periodico Mediterraneo reported.
A small species of blue shark around 60-70cm long is thought to have attacked her, Mayor Alós added.
Beachgoers were told to avoid the area where the girl was bitten, but a full evacuation was not ordered because witnesses had not spotted the creature.
It is the first reported shark attack in the area in at least ten years, officials said.
The sighting coincided with the busy Bank Holiday weekend and the first major influx of tourists to the holiday island after Easter
Around 90 species of shark can be found in the Spanish Med

LA CHICA INVISIBLE is a new Hulu crime series from Spain
The original Spanish series is inspired by the successful book trilogy of the same name by Blue Jeans
The series has lots of thriller and mystery elements as the story of one murder turns into a serial killer story
All eight episodes of the series are being released in one go
As the series already aired on Disney+ in Spain back in February
It’s a very classic crime story that offers plenty of twists and turns along the way
but overall it’s certainly worth checking out
Continue reading our La chica invisible series review below
La chica invisible begins with the murder of 17-year-old Aurora (Marta Vallés)
The very same flashbacks help reveal how everyone has secrets
Aurora is murdered at the only high school during Cárdena’s local festivities
Two investigations are essentially happening at the same time
One is the official investigation by Civil Guard Lieutenant Miguel Ángel (Daniel Grau)
The other is a very informal one by his daughter Julia (Zoe Stein)
father and daughter put the puzzle together and embark on a journey full of twists and turns
The fact that everyone always seems to have something to hide makes the investigation difficult
their secrets may have nothing to do with Aurora’s murder
I called one huge plot twist during the opening sequence
La Chica Invisible – and yes, the original Spanish title is used internationally – stars Daniel Grao and Zoe Stein as father and daughter caught up in solving the murder that happens right when the series starts. Daniel Grao (Perdida, Julia’s Eyes) portrays the police investigator
so it makes sense that he would be involved
Zoe Stein (Mantícora) plays his daughter Julia who went to school with the girl found murdered
She gets much more involved than she should
but she also clearly has an eye for details
In other key roles, we see Rebeca Matellan (Intimacy), Pablo Gómez-Pando (Feria: The Darkest Light)
La Chica Invisible was written by Carmen López-Areal
It’s described as “inspired by the successful book trilogy of the same name” which was written by Blue Jeans
La Chica Invisible has previously been released on Disney+ in many countries
All eight episodes are out now and it is definitely a binge-worthy series if you enjoy a nice crime mystery
La Chica Invisible is out on Hulu from May 16
A father and daughter involved in the investigation of a murdered teenage girl in the picturesque fictional town of Cárdena
The two are forced to put their differences aside and to succumb their tense relationship in order to solve the murder case rocking a supposedly peaceful town
I write reviews and recaps on Heaven of Horror
it does happen that I find myself screaming
I have a huge soft spot for a good horror-comedy
and I absolutely HATE when animals are harmed in movies
so I will immediately think less of any movie
where animals are harmed for entertainment (even if the animals are just really good actors)
horror doesn't use this nearly as much as comedy
And people assume horror lovers are the messed up ones
