An agreement between the city council and traders allows shopping centers to open 10 Sundays in summer
but for some time now the large supermarkets have been fighting to skip it
which cannot compete against such long opening hours
by the agreement reached in 2022 between traders and the City Council that allows shopping centers and shopping streets to open some holidays of the year
These Sundays are in addition to the 10 public holidays a year and the days around Christmas when stores can open
This 2025 the agreement will be applied for the fourth time
from which traders will be able to open almost every public holiday until December 31
The centers or shopping streets in Barcelona that can open are those included in the tourist zone drawn by the agreement
Santa Caterina i la Ribera and la Barceloneta
Eixample: La Nova Esquerra de l’Eixample
l’Antiga Esquerra de l’Eixample
Les Corts and Sarrià-Sant Gervasi: Les Corts
Sant Gervasi-Galvany and specific areas of Putxet and Farró
Vallcarca i els Penitents and part of the Salut neighborhood
Sant Martí and Horta-Guinardó: Vila Olímpica del Poblenou
Fòrum Marítim del Poblenou and part of Baix Guinardó
The permitted opening hours are from 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m
31 and 15 August (Assumption of the Virgin Mary)
The list may vary depending on the stores and shopping centers
but the following shopping centers will be open on Sundays on the dates indicated
Maremagnum (Port Vell): the only one that opens every Sunday of the year

A giant white-light-bulb marquee spells out the name of what's on at the Coliseum
a building that was inaugurated in 1923 as a cinema and that since 2006 has been host to all types of theatre productions
now under the ownership of Grup Balañà
who was inspired by the Paris Ópera
Recently it has also been used as a concert venue

This premium cocktail bar gets its name not from Beyoncé's sister but from one of James Bond's coolest ladies
And it's not a gratuitous concession to the king of the cocktail
because when you enter the premises you'll feel like you're stepping into one of the sumptuous and elegant bars where Bond himself might order a martini before seducing a dozen girls and killing a dozen terrorists
Solange is run by the Pernías, a family of mixologists who are already well-known for their Tandem Cocktail Bar
Their newer venture is a a delightful golden space where you wouldn't find it strange to see Scaramanga drinking an Old Fashioned or Vesper Lynd winking at the bartender
liquid gold and exquisite decorating taste are the ingredients that go into making this such a superb cocktail bar
The Pernías have stuck with the classics when it comes to their concoctions: no modern ornaments
no exotic flowers sticking out of your glass to poke your eye out
why change a back-to-the-basics approach that has kept Bond types coming to their establishments for years
DelaCrem is an artisan ice cream parlour with its own philosophy: they create each of their ice creams following strict artisan standards
The fundamental pillars are daily production and the meticulous selection of ingredients to guarantee the highest quality of the final product
owner Massimo Pignata and his team show pure passion for making their ice cream by hand
so that all flavours are suitable for coeliacs
and their fresh-fruit sorbets do not contain any derivative of animal origin so are ideal for vegans
so there's no excuse for not having ice cream
Curtis Audiophile Cafe is three spaces in one: a music venue for live performances and DJ sessions
co-owner along with Kuldeep Singh of Masala73
says that ‘between the trends of Peruvian and Mexican food here
it seems the Catalan palate is changing’
Indian restaurants have been around in Barcelona for about 25 years
Masala73 isn’t a classic Indian restaurant
the type with 70 dishes on the leather-bound menu – in fact
‘Everything revolves around the curries because usually at an Indian restaurant curry is treated as a side dish
and everything else is a side.’ Aros describes Kuldeep Singh
‘I was executive chef and he was the dishwasher in a restaurant where we worked together
and in six years he’s become the head chef
The essence of Masala73 – a stripped-down yet refined space – is ‘to use the Kuldeep family’s recipes and modify them
using local and updated techniques and products’
They don’t want to even hear the term ‘fusion’
And the truth is that what they do they do well: the short menu at Masala73 features four excellent curries (green vegetables
The spirit of the contemporary food truck – new recipes crossed with street food – will take them far: the ‘Bomba Mumbai’
looks like a meat-and-potato ‘bomba’ you’d pick up in a Barceloneta bar
but it’s made with veg and chickpeas and features a potent curry mayonnaise
I like to think that the Garage Beer Co started like Apple: in a garage
With two friends who wanted to make craft beer and ended up flying the Millennium Falcon of hops
With a humble idea that turned into a colossal triumph
Once you step inside you notice that you're not in any old craft beer bar
but that sensation is broken up here and there by the tall tables and stools as you enter
The granite bar acts as the perfect bunker for those who don't want to venture too far into the belly of this tavern 2.0
which you'll also see in this massive altar
is the aesthetic leitmotif of a floor that also features a lounge full of hipster-inspired retro sofas
the jewel in the crown: a small factory where the Garage Beer Co team brew up their own beer
And that's just what I order: a home-brewed smooth amber called Riba that comes in a personalised house class
I decide to follow the barman's advice and accompany the beer with one of the culinary offerings
They say the porchetta sandwich is heavenly
but I'm curious about whether they've got the nachos right
These are better than 80 percent of the supposedly Mexican restaurants in Barcelona
it's not just a factory – it's the garage of your dreams
the antidote to industrial beer that doesn't give you much more than a big fat hangover
You might even waltz right in without noticing the curious drawing of the two men on a tandem bike
Maybe it's the curtains at the entrance that give this cocktail bar an air of intimacy that gourmet drinkers love so much
Young bartenders dressed like old-timey drinks mixers grab from an endless selection of boozy treats with magic hands prepared to whip up any recipe with a sniper's marksmanship
you'll even be singing the praises of your long-suffered mother-in-law
Can Xurrades has moved from C/Gran de Gràcia uptown to C/Casanova
and it's no longer a Catalan tavern (the type with a décor that favours images of farmers and work animals doing their thing under the blazing sun) – it's a proper modern restaurant
And though you'll still find standards that have always been on the menu
Chef Rafa Martínez specialises in high-quality beef
Big fans of good food already consider Igueldo to be a model for traditional cuisine with a modern flair
and they're pleased to find that it's not too over-the-top or pretentious
This place will always put you in a good mood
including a bright hardwood floor and white walls and columns
The back is available for reservations of up to ten people
live up to the high expectations they created for this one
their presence has raised the quality of other places in the area
whether their excellence spread out to their neighbours or they simply forced competition
superlative cuisine and reasonable prices draw in not only gourmets from this area of the Eixample
but also faithful patrons who come specifically to enjoy the delicious
the existence of both a meat grill and a fish grill attracted us to one of the lovely Basque tables
Most of the regulars go right to the Oiartzun rib
This option is a combination of ingenuity and good taste
which also results in delicious starters like the anchovy and strawberry salad
and the fantastic barbecued artichokes with fresh foie gras
We also recommend trying the traditional dishes
like the peppers stuffed with 'txangurro' (crab)
But it’s the barbecue that shines: hake served with clams and fried with garlic
onion and pepper; diced tuna with sweet tomato; sweetbread
brains and kidneys; or fish from the market
cod filet with cod tripe and barley or the twice-cooked squab with salsify
a particularly tasty edible root that very few chefs dare to use
a platter of fine cheeses and freshly prepared desserts
which varies according to Ana’s tastes
excellent lighting and a welcoming ambience will give you a fabulous evening out in one of the best restaurants in the city
Are you someone who likes to run and loves craft beer
your new place of worship is Mikkeller Bar Barcelona
the bar brings you 24 different taps of the craft beer you crave
It's one of the most 'hygge' places in the city
'Hygge' is a Danish concept that has become synonymous with a nice afternoon at home on the sofa watching films under a blanket
with candles and an herbal tea in your hands
