CapGen Seeds held an Open Day in La Mojonera (Almería) on March 4
its new pear tomato variety for export with intermediate resistance to the Tomato Brown Rugose Virus (ToBRFV)
Despite the rain on the three days of field visits
the influx of growers and technicians did not stop
"Panoramix has maintained its production and quality in the final phase of cultivation
establishing itself as a reliable choice for the export market," the company stated
These Open Days served as a continuation of the event held on December 4 and 5
when the variety was still known by its pre-commercial name
"In December we saw the upper part of the plant's behavior
and fruit conservation," stated Rocío Redondo
a tomato development technician at CapGen Seeds
visitors discovered the main characteristics that make Panoramix a differential variety
which facilitates handling and reduces rot problems
It yields stable and uniform calibers throughout the cycle
guaranteeing that 100% of the production is usable
a key factor in the face of the growing pressure of the rugose virus
which were transplanted on September 4 and developed on a two-stem system
will continue to produce until the end of May
with a load of more than 20 bunches in total
Panoramix's intermediate resistance to the tomato brown rugose virus (ToBRFV) acts as a natural shield
CapGen Seeds ended its Open Days event with the satisfaction of having presented a variety that offers great yields

A weekend well spent brings a week of content
The UD Almería Academy youth ranks have completed another weekend of exciting matches and the results were really positive in general
although we have to regret the defeat of UD Almería U19 'A' against Granada and the 2-2 draw the under-12s 'A' with UDC Pavia
UD Almería U19 'A' did not score outside of the Francisco Pomedio stadium against Granada and was narrowly defeated
Zeus Carmona's lads battled hard until full-time
but the Nazarí team kept the young Rojiblancos from the top positions in the table
they achieved a 2-1 victory over the same rivals
Both UD Almería U16s 'A' and 'B' scored goals in their respective fixtures
the first ones tore UD Maracena apart (0-4)
while the U16s 'B' blew CD Español Albolote away (5-1)
the under-14s 'A' won 2-0 over Séneca at home
while the U14s 'B' ran out 1-11 winners against La Mojonera away from their own turf
Sharing the points with UDC Pavía following a 2-2 draw
the two youngest outfits of the UDA Academy under-10s 'A' and 'B' thrashed their respective opponents against CD Vera (10-0) and CD Viator 'B' (0-10)
part of its NO-ND - New Delhi resistance range (ToLCNDV)
has become "a reliable bet for farmers specialized in this horticultural crop."
"It was the first zucchini variety with resistance to the New Delhi virus that the company incorporated
and it has conquered Almeria's countryside
It's already become a reference for the early segment in the industry
and marketers and cooperatives of the province of Almeria highly appreciate it
Technicians recommend it campaign after campaign thanks to its adaptation to the autumn-winter and spring cycle," said HM.Clause
"A big advantage it offers is its high productivity
thanks to the strength and vigor of its plant
as confirmed by farmers who have already bet and continue to bet on Dharma F1
it allows extending the production cycle beyond four months
"Dharma F1 has amply demonstrated to farmers that resistance against a virus like New Delhi is not at odds with achieving high yields
a producer with a farm in Matagorda (El Ejido)
said he knew a producer who had carried out a transplant in mid-August and achieved yields of 9 kilograms per square meter
which allowed him to continue the harvest until mid-January."
who also opted for the Dharma F1 variety in the 2023-2024 season
stressed that he will grow this variety again this year
He began the campaign by channeling his sales through the auction
he continued it via a cooperative in El Ejido
which has already advised him to keep growing the Dharma F1 variety in the next campaign
a farmer from La Mojonera with a farm in Las Lomas
also fully trusts Dharma F1 and extended his campaign until mid-June
with a transplant from the first days of March
"I'm betting again on this variety for the next campaign
in the transplant I'll carry out in September and the subsequent spring cycle."
In addition to its high resistance to New Delhi
hardly any of the Dharma F1 zucchini has to be discarded
"You get the production you expect with a color that marketers love."

where eggplant is a significant crop (around 2,500 ha)
The first symptoms developed 30 to 45 days after transplanting
and occasionally death and brown vascular discoloration
- Centro La Mojonera in Almería have isolated a fungus with verticillate conidiophores from the vascular area of plants on potato dextrose agar (PDA)
and Be531) were preliminarily identified on PDA as Verticillium dahliae for having the back of the colony without yellow or orange pigmentation
by the production of conidia one-celled and microsclerotia
Molecular identification was performed by DNA sequencing and the pathogenicity of these four isolates was tested on eggplant cv
dahliae was consistently recovered from symptomatic plants in all experiments, the scientists say
dahliae has been previously isolated from eggplant in Valencia
but Koch's postulates were not performed for this finding
Although the disease was speculated to affect eggplant crops in greenhouses in this regions for over 70 years
