An agreement between the city council and traders allows shopping centers to open 10 Sundays in summer
but for some time now the large supermarkets have been fighting to skip it
which cannot compete against such long opening hours
by the agreement reached in 2022 between traders and the City Council that allows shopping centers and shopping streets to open some holidays of the year
These Sundays are in addition to the 10 public holidays a year and the days around Christmas when stores can open
This 2025 the agreement will be applied for the fourth time
from which traders will be able to open almost every public holiday until December 31
The centers or shopping streets in Barcelona that can open are those included in the tourist zone drawn by the agreement

l’Antiga Esquerra de l’Eixample

Vallcarca i els Penitents and part of the Salut neighborhood

The permitted opening hours are from 12:00 noon to 8:00 p.m

The list may vary depending on the stores and shopping centers
but the following shopping centers will be open on Sundays on the dates indicated

Barcelona
this space is like a caress on the back of the neck: daylight streams through the entrance window and bounces off the soaring ceiling and white walls
The wood in all the furniture and the floor fits like a puzzle piece with the Scandinavian touches of the interior design
All the exquisite details have been painstakingly selected to offer the clientele a most pleasant experience that nourishes the soul
In other words: you'll need to be pried off your chair when it's time to go home.
If the decor doesn't convince you because you're 50 years ahead of the rest of humanity
the food and drinks menus should do the trick (that's what you're there for
A glass of Estrella Galicia beer on tap goes down like cold water on a hot day
the selection of wines and cavas by the glass is impeccable
the tasty food mostly speaks Catalan (good sausages!) with an international accent. Be sure to ask for the gin and tonic of the night

This gourmet burger spot could very well become a meeting place for the indie set: their playlist is exquisite, Barcelona-based rock band Mishima occasionally dine here, and they brought along Daniel Johnston when he was in town
You can create your own burger from the bajillions of possible combinations
and there's also Nebraska Angus beef available
as well as a small but choice wine list that will suit your budget
Pardo didn't want his restaurant to live and die by paella
but he did want it to be an important dish
and he set up a tasting menu that deserves a round of applause
And it also happens to be the set lunch menu (which changes weekly)
And even better is the creamy Peking duck croquette – the bird is roasted and glazed
and there's a touch of kimchi and mint – and a salad of roasted leeks with smoked teriyaki eel and honey (the smoky/spicy relationship here is magical
like in their roasted broccoli with chicken tandoori sauce and spicy cheese)
you notice everything: the crunch of the fine rice as well as the strong flavour of the broth
This is pure paella – maybe not in the recipe itself
Don't say no to dessert: a prize must surely need to be invented for wonders such as Curryoset and Dia Trist a la Platja (Sad Day at the Beach)
ice cream cones with melancholy names but also with a delightful base of chocolate
This Caribbean cultural centre hosts exhibitions
publishes its own magazine (Antilla News) and offers Latin dance classes
But when the sun goes down all cultural pretensions go out the window – it's a hedonistic jungle in there
Salsa shows by entire orchestras and DJs playing rumba
merengue and son until six in the morning will spin your head and parch your throat until the only word you can croak is 'mojito'
