which manages the largest network of secure parking facilities for trucks in Spain with more than 3,500 spaces for renting (long or short term)
have inaugurated the Manises secure parking for trucks
close to the AP7 and the Valencia Airport cargo terminal
The new facilities have state-of-the-art security systems both at the entrances and inside the car park
This will allow transport professionals to take their breaks with the peace of mind that their vehicles and goods will be protected
this truck park has advanced access control and security surveillance systems with cameras; reinforced lighting
perimeter fencing to prevent intrusion attempts; access control for heavy vehicles and drivers; and digital means of payment through the mowiz TRUCK digital platform
as well as through Via-T and other means of payment
including the most widespread professional channels in the European market
This new SSTPA (Safe and Secure Truck Parking Area) will also have refrigerated hook-up points for trucks transporting (ultra) frozen cargo or those that need to maintain the cold chain so that they can do so without CO2 emissions
the area has additional services for both professionals and their companions
such as areas for physical activities and rest; hygiene services
showers and toilets; laundry; recreational areas
free Internet connection; restaurant/cooking areas and parking reservation management
All of this in safe and secure spaces that are audited and certified
and which will be officially certified to the EU Safe Parking Standard for Trucks at GOLD level
The project stands out for the treatment of water
measures have been implemented to reduce its consumption as much as possible in all the facilities
in view of the evolution of energy sources
the facilities are prepared to be able to offer electric charging points for all types of electric trucks by 2026
mowiz TRUCK reinforces the service it offers on the TEN-T Mediterranean corridor
where it already has nine secure spaces for trucks and more than 1,500 spaces under commercialisation
one of the most important routes for road freight transport
This location offers a key position for large logistics chains in the east of the peninsula
This new secure truck parking will become part of the mowiz TRUCK network
which is made up of 19 areas already in operation in other areas of Spain such as Andalusia
the company aims to respond to the demand of many haulage associations and the road transport sector in general (which in Spain represents >95% of freight transport)
given the lack of supply of this type of infrastructure in Spain
Sustainability has been a strategic pillar in the Manises' truck parking project
the modifications have been made to strengthen the commitment of both the City Council and the company to reduce the carbon footprint by promoting the reduction of energy consumption of the facilities
the use of recycled materials in the reform process
the increase in the energy efficiency of the buildings
and the reduction of noise pollution and the increase in CO2 capture through the renovation of the green perimeter enclosure and the extension of the planted units to around 500 trees

Air Transat will connect Manises airport with Montreal airport in Canada on a weekly basis from the summer of 2025
Valencia will recover transoceanic flights from next summer. For the first time in 13 years, Manises airport will have a direct connection to the other side of the Atlantic
Previously, in 2005, Air Madrid had operated a direct flight to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic.
Valencia Secreta has checked available prices to fly from Valencia to Montreal with Air Transat. The usual price is 404 for a round trip from June 21 to July 11 with the cheapest available fare (Eco Budget).
In addition, this 2025 Valencia will also connect with one of the tourist destinations par excellence in Europe: Reykjavik, in Iceland. The Icelandic capital will be added with two weekly flights operated by Play, to other northern European cities such as Copenhagen (Denmark), operated by SAS, and Oslo (Norway), operated by Norwegian.
EasyJet will strengthen connectivity with Amsterdam (Netherlands) with two weekly flights, while Ryanair adds Pescara (Italy) and Poznan (Poland) to its network with two weekly flights each.
Dan Air will add three weekly frequencies to Bucharest (Romania) and the Binter connection that will be launched in April with Gran Canaria and Tenerife.
Text description provided by the architects. The project for this newly built Private Terminal proposes a clear and decisive geometry defined by a single volume (120 x 47 meters) in which the exterior metallic materiality that surrounds the building unifies its various functions and structures.
This skin, which in some areas is micro-perforated to allow natural light to enter the interior, gives the project a unitary industrial appearance, whilst being dynamic and variable changing according to time and sunlight.
© David FrutosThe functional program is divided into two main areas. The area for office use is distributed over two floors between which double heights are created generating visuals. On the other hand, the hangar area will have space to host different aircraft as well as warehouses.
© David FrutosThe design of the structure has been one of the greatest challenges of the project and the element that has most conditioned the final appearance of the building. The structure is solved using rigid metal gable frames with variable depth trusses. In the same way, two elements are proposed to support a metal truss that allows a free front opening of 100 meters to adapt to the functional requirements and demands of the space.
© David FrutosDespite its area and volume, the project has a low energy impact since the main space area (3,794.14 m2) does not require climate conditioning. The natural ventilation of this space is achieved through the strategic installation of three fans, avoiding air stratification in winter and allowing the thermal load to be reduced in summer.

Nestled between sloping groves of olive trees along the banks of the river Turia lies Manises
a small Spanish town with a powerful artistic presence
Known as the primary center of production for lusterware
a type of tin-glazed ceramic developed by Abbasid period Islamic potters (see cat
Manises has dominated the industry since the fourteenth century
and its exports are still highly sought after today
a testament to the cultural exchange and stylistic fusion that occurred on the Iberian Peninsula during the seven hundred years when perceived boundaries between “East” and “West” were much more fluid than they are today
Muslim forces first landed in Gibraltarin 711
conquering Visigothic Iberia and expanding the Umayyad empire into present-day Spain
Though Muslim holdings later fractured into rival states
many southern and coastal regions continued under Muslim rule until the late fifteenth century
and bore witness to profound cultural change
Looking to recreate the splendor they had left behind in Damascus and other eastern cities
Iberian Islamic leaders enriched their kingdoms with untold treasures and sophisticated public infrastructure
and philosophers soon flocked to new cosmopolitan centers
while ports bustled with merchants exchanging luxury goods for local resources
It was within this context of great economic
and artistic prosperity that lusterware was initially introduced to Europe
Western manufacture of the ceramics began in Málaga as early as 1150
as Muslims and Christians battled for control and the port city rapidly declined
Málagan master potters migrated north and settled in Valencia
bringing with them their acclaimed gold-lustered craft
James I of Aragon had granted Valencian artisans of all religions the right to work freely upon payment of an annual tax and kiln fee
giving rise to a distinctive and collaborative artistic environment
In the workshops of Manises and other nearby towns
Muslim and Christian craftsmen worked side by side
and creating a style of lusterware entirely their own
As exemplified by the Wyvern armorial plate
Valencian potters drew on a repertoire of geometric motifs
elaborated in muted browns and reds or brilliant blues and golds
and many plates were decorated on the underside with boldly painted animal figures also drawing on European heraldry
Seamless combinations of such elements illustrate the harmonization of Muslim and Christian artistic traditions
Valencian lusterware occupied a prominent place at the heart of Iberian society
Whether proudly displayed in homes or used as part of a larger table service
and hybridized conception of the ceramics garnered them unique appreciation throughout all of Europe
Muslims and Christians alike cherished the gold-lustered vessels
a craft that came to belong so indisputably to both cultures it was no longer possible to distinguish between them

I've just walked back down through a devastated street in the La Torre in Valencia and you can see hundreds of people walking back and forth into the city for supplies
One of the small local supermarkets has a queue outside
Most people are carrying the bottled water that they have bought
I also saw a lot of bleach/disinfectant as most of the house have been inundated with water or mud
city council workers are handing out food bags for local people who need to eat
A lot of the criticism I had been hearing from residents is they felt the authorities hadn't done enough to help after the flooding

The scale of the destruction caused by the torrential rainfall in Spain can be hard to grasp
We’ve looked at satellite imagery of a 7km (4.3-mile) stretch of residential neighbourhoods south of Valencia
The area overlooks a lagoon surrounded by rice fields in the Albufera Natural Park and is prone to flooding
But the extraordinary volume of rainwater that fell in such a short space of time burst the banks of the river Turia and flooded thousands of people’s homes
So much sediment was carried out to sea by the river that it can be seen from space miles off Spain’s Mediterranean coast

I'm still in the La Torre area of Valencia
All around me are cars tossed into the road from the force of the flood water
Locals don't have any power in this area
but are already starting to work together to try and clear up
I saw a group of young men with brooms sweeping muddy water from one business
We spoke to one local called Rosa who said she saw cars floating in the water and had not seen anything like it in this area
But she also said the community was coming together seeing what others needed and trying to get it for them
It is going to be weeks and months before this area of the city looks anything like it did before the floods

In our coverage of the Spanish flooding you may have heard the acronym DANA.
but stands for Depresión Aislada en Niveles Altos – literally a high altitude
isolated depression - a recurring type of storm often seen in the Iberian peninsula at this time of year
It is sometimes known as a “gota fria” or “cold drop”
Scientists are already attributing the devastating scenes to climate change
the Mediterranean has seen record-breaking warm waters this summer
A warm atmosphere holds more moisture and so as the world continues to warm we can expect to see these sorts of events become more extreme
Severe thunderstorms produce a lot of rain within a short space of time - as we saw in Chiva
where a year’s worth of rain fell within eight hours earlier in the week
burst river banks and catastrophic flash flooding

Menorca and Cadizpublished at 15:47 Greenwich Mean Time 31 October 202415:47 GMT 31 October 2024BBC Weather
It’s not just mainland Spain that has seen record-breaking rainfall
October records were broken earlier in the week in the Balearics where as much as 174mm (6.85in) of rain fell on Monday
Another 120mm (4.7in) could fall over the islands in just a few hours and the Spanish Met Service has issued amber warnings for rain and thunderstorms on Friday and Saturday across Mallorca and Menorca
it will be falling on already saturated ground and could cause more flash flooding
And while the low pressure system responsible for the flooding is weakening
it remains more or less stagnant over Iberia and there are likely to be more intense downpours in the coming days
Another area that could see further heavy thunderstorms with amber warnings issued is south-west Spain
Any UK visitors to the country are being advised to keep up to date with the weather warnings

At least 51 people have died from the floods caused by a “catrastrophic” DANA in the province of Valencia on Tuesday
according to the provisional reports from the Integrated Operational Coordination Centre of the Ministry of the Interior
the president of the Generalitat Valenciana
but without confirming the exact number “out of respect for the families”
A tragic figure of loss of human life as a consequence of the major flooding caused by the destructive DANA that hit a large part of the eastern half of Spain on Tuesday with the most affected areas in the province of Valencia
the public company that manages the railway infrastructure
suspended all train travel in the community early in the evening
The forecasts of the meteorologists were fulfilled and the worst storm of recent years
gained strength throughout the day to end up hitting the Mediterranean coast of the province

they continue to appear,” the head of the regional government acknowledged to the media
adding that he could not give more details “out of respect for the families” so that they “can be adequately informed.” In any case
he wanted to send a “message of calm
patience and strength” to the population
“because where they have not been able to reach many areas still is because communications are absolutely impossible.” The emergency services are “prepared and ready” to act – he added – and
it is because “either there is a collapse in communications
or because the areas are still flooded.”
The Valencian Community was hit hard by the downpours
especially in the regions of Ribera Alta and Plana de Utiel-Requena
in neighbouring Turís it reached 299 and in Castelló de la Ribera it reached 266
according to data from the Valencian Meteorological Association (Avamet)
Police were also searching in the town of l’Alcudia for the driver of a lorry who had disappeared due to the flood shortly before 13:00

where according to Renfe there were 2,722 passengers affected by the train suspensions
Added to this were the major problems on several Cercanías lines
as well as on the metro in the capital of Turia
ADIF decided in the evening to suspend train travel in the Valencian Community until at least ten o’clock on Wednesday morning
when the weather conditions and the state of the tracks will be reassessed again to determine whether traffic can be resumed without safety problems
Almost all activity in the ports of the city and in Sagunto was paralysed due to the maritime storm
The strong storm also caused multiple failures in the telephone lines
which forced Telefónica technicians to make an extra effort to try to repair the network
there were local road closures in several municipalities including Chiva
where the 100 litres per square metre were exceeded
There was also considerable damage caused by a tornado in Benifaió
The Ministry of Defense reports that a total of 1,034 soldiers
members of the Military Emergency Unit (UME)
were activated in the middle of the afternoon on Tuesday to move to the Utiel-Requena region
where there were numerous people isolated and roads and paths flooded
According to an announcement from the corps just after midnight
its members were “carrying out rescue and evacuation work for people trapped by the floods in Requena
ten flights (eight departures and two arrivals) had been cancelled by 8:00 p.m
and another twelve had been diverted (six to Alicante
five to Barcelona and one to Ibiza) as a result of the storms

In the case of those people who are outside
he advised them to seek high ground if they are near ravines and riverbeds
“The night is going to be long,” he said
725 passengers remained at the station in the provincial capital
waiting for normal rail traffic to be restored
in addition to providing food and drink to passengers
it will establish an alternative plan to continue their journey
The Provincial Fire Service of the Provincial Council of Albacete (SEPEI)
assisted by a helicopter from the Civil Guard
began the search in the early hours of the afternoon for two missing people in the town of Letur (Albacete)
These are two employees of this Town Hall who were last seen on board a van
a vehicle that later appeared abandoned in a gully
For several hours they were regularly called by phone without success since the telephone communications in the town did not work throughout Tuesday
Another four people who had gone out to the mountains from the town were also being searched for at nightfall
the Red Cross set up a temporary shelter at the Nuestra Señora de la Asunción public school in Letur
as the heavy rains affected many homes and left them uninhabitable
60 people affected by the floods were taken there
Another 30 people were trapped in their homes and dozens had to take refuge in the town’s bars
Another town in the province of Albacete affected by this storm was Molinicos
where rainfall reached 120 litres per square metre

ProjectArchaeological action project (Tossal de Manises
Eva Tendero Porras (CV-MARQ Foundation) and Antonio Guilabert Mas (CV-MARQ Foundation)
This action has the authorisation of the Consellería de Cultura i Esport de la Generalitat Valenciana
--------------------------------------------------------------------------
The MARQ will start on 27 June a new excavation campaign at the archaeological site of the Tossal de Manisessite of the ancient Roman city of Lucentum
The work will be carried out in rooms in sectors B and B-C of the site
focusing on the levels prior to the foundation of the Roman municipality
especially on the destruction detected in a large part of the enclave during the Second Punic War
The excavation work will be carried out over the course of a month
under the direction of Manuel Olcina Doménech
Eva Tendero Porras and Antonio Guilabert Mas
from the MARQ and the Department of Architecture of the Provincial Council of Alicante
who will also be responsible for the consolidation and enhancement of the findings once the field work has been completed
This campaign will involve 23 university graduates and students
who will carry out both excavation and laboratory work
All these activities will be carried out in a site open to the public
so that visitors can see how an archaeological intervention takes place during their visit
which has been excavated discontinuously since the 18th century
is today a point of reference in studies of the period between the landing of Rome and Carthage on peninsular soil and the Islamisation of the territory
Its opening to the public in 1998 was also a milestone in the dissemination of archaeological heritage and bringing archaeology closer to society
as endorsed by its selection for the final of the Telefonica Ability Awards in 2012

probably the best known cocktail bar in the city
another MYR Hotels property in Valencia.
One of the privileges of being a guest at Hotel Palacio Vallier

it’s the best way to enjoy a late night cocktail

thanks to the quirks of an old property – different shapes and outlooks
but all include the elegant interior design and top notch materials
There are all the 5 star amenities you’d expect
either of the Manises square or out towards the cathedral
then choose the spectacular Lladró suite or the Presidential Suite
Valencia’s City of Arts and Sciences ( Ciutat de les Arts i les Ciències) is one of architect’s Calatrava’s masterpieces
as the place truly takes you to the future
There’s cool museums and a world-class aquarium

has forced the aircraft to perform an emergency landing in Barajas Airport shortly after take-off
It is the second case within a few days due to the same causes
Nearly 200 people evacuated and three taken to hospital after landing in Valencia
Nearly 200 people had to be evacuated from a British Airways flight after smoke poured into the cabin minutes before it was due to land in Valencia
Three people were taken to hospital after the incident on Monday
One passenger on the flight from London’s Heathrow airport tweeted videos that appeared to show the smoke-filled cabin and claimed that a fire had broken out
a Spanish sports journalist called Dani Meroño Bori
said he and others had been forced to leave the plane using the emergency slides
Intentamos salir pero no funciona nada!!! atrapados pero van a abrir la puerta!!!Hemos aterrizado en Manises @British_Airways pic.twitter.com/917WOKL4yO
“PANIC!!! FEAR – have never been through anything like that before,” he tweeted
The plane we were on from London to Valencia caught fire
he said: “We’re trying to get out but nothing’s working!!
We’re trapped but they’re going to open the door!!
We’ve landed in Manises aiport [in Valencia].”
Meroño tweeted: “Everyone’s OK but there were people who had a really rough time
It was a big shock when smoke started to appear when we were flying
Luckily we were close and everything turned out OK
The journalist complained about a lack of information from staff and said some passengers had been left to reassure others
described the moment smoke entered the cabin
it started descending rapidly as smoke started to fill the cabin
“A detector was going off saying the cabin was filling with smoke … There were no communications from the crew
who started to wear full oxygen masks and protective fire wear
“Eventually they managed to open the emergency doors and told us to go down the chutes
There were fire engines waiting and then we were all ushered into a bus to the airport.”
Fitzpatrick claimed passengers had been stuck at the airport for hours “without any information at all”
Stephen Fitzpatrick added: “The pilot made a very sharp downward trajectory
pulled into a sideway and stopped quite suddenly
but were surprised they weren’t already there given the warning time
There was zero communication at any time from the crew.”
Once the passengers were clear of the aircraft
Fitzpatrick said it was up to them to organise themselves and they spent nearly five hours in the baggage area
“There was some very basic presence from the airport
but essentially the passengers were left entirely to their own devices.”
He said he was “surprised at how utterly unprepared they were for an emergency”
British Airways said: “Flight BA422 from Heathrow to Valencia experienced a technical issue on its landing approach into Valencia
All our customers were evacuated safely by our crew and met by the airport’s emergency services
“There were 175 customers on board the flight
Three customers were taken to hospital as a precaution and have since been discharged
“The safety of our customers and crew is always our highest priority
other British Airways team members have arrived in Valencia to help our customers and our local airport partners with anything they need.”
The file is a representation of the parking spots and taxiways in the Airport of Valencia-Manises (LEVC) in Spain
It has been designed over the payware scenery by Simwings
and and probably will not work well with the default airport
but considering the similarity with the previous version of this editor
This is my little contribution to the task of make a more accurate "virtual World" in FS2004
this file hadn't be possible without the excellent work of Lee Swordy with his great program AFCAD 2

Manises host Getafe at the Campo Vicente Martínez Catala on Tuesday in the opening round of the Copa del Rey
The hosts ply their trade in the sixth tier of Spanish football
Manises beat ES Dolorense 3-1 in the preliminary round last month
Francisco Puertas and Marc Cantero handed the sixth-tier outfit a two-goal lead before Juan La Piedra wrapped up the win with 10 minutes left
Getafe, meanwhile, have struggled in the league this season. After heading into the international break off consecutive defeats, they returned to action in convincing fashion, beating Real Valladolid 2-0 via a quickfire second-half double from Alvaro Rodriguez and veteran defender Allan Nyom
Getafe beat seventh-tier side Tardienta 12-0 at this stage of the competition last season
Manises are undefeated in four matches and have lost one of their last eight
but they have a near-impossible task ahead of them
Getafe's latest result ended a five-game winless streak
Jose Bardalas' men are the better side and should win this one
Tip 2 - Goals - Over/under 2.5 - Under 2.5 goals (Five of Manises' last seven matches have produced fewer than 2.5 goals.)
Tip 3 - Both teams to score: No (Both sides have scored in one of Getafe's last four matches.)
