2016 7:47 AM EDTDog owners in a Spanish municipality who don’t clean up after their animal may be traced through the DNA in their pet’s feces to try and keep the roads clear of unsightly dog mess A statement on the City of Mislata’s council website explains that dog owners must enrol their pet in a mandatory canine registry by taking them to a veterinary center to give a quick if their dog leaves a mess on the pavement that their owner fails to clean up street cleaners can collect a sample of the feces and take it to a laboratory Thanks to the council’s new DNA analysis system the dog will then be identified and linked to its owner who will be contacted and given a fine of up to €200 ($220) “Remember to always carry a plastic or paper bag when you go out for a walk with your dog,” the council’s statement concludes This is not the first instance of DNA dog poop testing. There’s even a doggie DNA lab in Knoxville, Tenn., called Poo Prints which helps condo and apartment managers identify the dogs who leave a mess on premises across 30 states Write to Kate Samuelson at kate.samuelson@time.com Photo by: Tyler DavisPriest Fulfilling Childhood Dream August 19 The Boulder High School graduate is looking to make a name for herself with the Buffs 2023) – North Texas SC announced Javier Cano Gallego as its third head coach in club history today Cano joins North Texas SC from Austin FC’s Academy The 39-year-old has more than 23 years of coaching experience that includes stints in Spain MEDIA ASSETS: Click here for b-roll and photos of North Texas SC head coach Javier Cano’s first day. “I’m excited about this opportunity to keep growing in the United States and with clubs like FC Dallas and North Texas SC,” North Texas SC Head Coach Javier Cano said “I’m ready personally and professionally to take this next step in my career and embrace the challenge of being a head coach having the will to win and developing our players throughout this year.” began his coaching career in Spain with CD Utiel in August 2000 he managed the U-7 through U-16 Academy teams for nearly nine years Cano assumed assistant sport and conditioning coach duties in July 2009 for Levante UD’s women’s football team in the Superliga Cano assumed the role of head coach for Mislata UF’s U-14s and U-15s Academy teams a program that helps develop players through courses and tournaments After spending 19 months in the Fundación Marcet Cano joined Villareal CF Academy where he was the head coach of the U-13/U-15 and U-14/U-16 teams He spent six years at the “Yellow Submarine” before moving to the Czech Republic where he was named the head coach of the SK Slavia Praha U-21s in the Juniorska League he was also called up to be an assistant coach for Ben Olsen during the 2019 MLS season Cano was promoted to head coach of the U-19s in his second season with the club and remained part of Olsen’s staff until June 2020 Austin FC hired Cano as its U-15 Academy head coach following his stint at D.C He would later be promoted to the U-17 head coach role Cano has a master’s degree in Sports Science that he earned at Universitat de Valencia He also holds a UEFA Pro coaching license and a EFCL license Italian and Czech and is a native of Utiel “Javier brings energy and experience on a global stage,” North Texas SC General Manager Matt Denny said “North Texas SC is such an important aspect of our entire organization Javier is going to be phenomenal asset to the club and help strengthen the alignment between the first team The dates displayed for an article provide information on when various publication milestones were reached at the journal that has published the article activities on preceding journals at which the article was previously under consideration are not shown (for instance submission All content on this site: Copyright © 2025 Elsevier B.V., its licensors, and contributors. The work of Valencian sculptor Miquel Navarro is characterized by its persistent exploration of the urban landscape Navarro initially produced two-dimensional images featuring geometric structural and architectural forms—segments of landscapes or imaginary cities and in 1973 he began the first of his Cities Set directly on the floor without a pedestal and comprising many separate geometric components of varying sizes and materials—at first primarily in terracotta but since 1985 in various metals such as iron and aluminum—these installations map out the topography of fictive metropolises on a human scale producing a dialogue between sculpture and architecture Navarro's miniature cities expand horizontally across the floor of the gallery rising vertically at certain points in the form of aggressively tall the Cities reflect the artist's own personal experience of the mutability of the man-made landscape: since the 1950s once a village surrounded by extensive farmland dotted with small pockets of industry has been transformed by the expansion of nearby Valencia Get Recruited Faster with a Player Profile on SoccerWire.com BOULDER — The University of Colorado soccer program the Barcelona metropolitan region It will be Nextbike’s largest e-bike fleet to date and even one of Europe’s most extensive e-bike sharing systems The station-based system started with around 600 bikes in six municipalities in the Barcelona metropolitan region and is expected to include approximately 2,500 e-bikes at 220 stations in 15 municipalities when completed Nextbike has been present in Palma de Mallorca since December 2022 with its BiciPalma service Nearly 1,000 bikes will be available there following the last expansion “this will make it possible to integrate around 20 districts flexibly and individually into Palma’s public transport system.” Nextbike is taking a new approach with its Getxobizi service “The small system with around 100 bikes is a taste of what is to come with the development of an interconnected system for the entire Bizkaia region,” the provider writes the bike-sharing service now underway in Getxo should be integrated into the Bizkaibizi interconnected system It should then include a total of 600 e-bikes The fourth city in the group is Mislata in the province of Valencia Nextbike does not specify the number of e-bikes in the system there The “small bike sharing system offers e-bikes and push bikes that can be rented and returned at 15 stations including one station in the city of Valencia.” Nextbike says it will launch other systems in the Spanish market including two bike-sharing services in the Bizkaia and Santander regions Nextbike operates in some 300 locations in more than 18 countries. After the acquisition by Tier Mobility in November 2021 the rebranding started in the summer of 2022 Tier’s vehicles were integrated directly into the Nextbike app electric mopeds and bikes from Nextbike can be rented over the same app Tier and Nextbike together offer more than 250,000 vehicles in over 400 cities Nextbike continues to expand its presence in Spain The four new e-bike sharing systems mentioned above will be followed by three more offerings this summer This is because Nextbike has also won the tenders for systems in Santander The Bizkaibizi offer for the entire Bizkaia region around the city of Bilbao includes 600 e-bikes Nextbike will provide 100 of its classic bikes in addition to 35 e-bikes Nextbike operates ten bike-sharing systems in Spain with more than 3,000 bikes As a result of the tenders won and the expansion of existing systems the bike-sharing offering will grow to at least twelve systems with almost 6,000 bikes before the end of this year I agree with the Privacy policy electrive has been following the development of electric mobility with journalistic passion and expertise since 2013 we offer comprehensive coverage of the highest quality — as a central platform for the rapid development of this technology Children thrown to ground near Valencia as inflatable structure becomes airborne An eight-year-old girl has died and eight children have been injured after wind gusts lifted a bouncy castle metres into the air at a fair in eastern Spain Emergency services were called to the fairgrounds in Mislata a municipality on the outskirts of Valencia horrified witnesses had watched as the fair’s inflatable structure became airborne throwing several children on to the ground “All of a sudden I saw it rise into the air,” one witness told reporters I think they fell onto another inflatable structure passersby – we were all doing what we could to help.” Nine children were taken to hospital, two of them in a serious condition.
