A GRIEVING mum believes her son was murdered in Spain - despite cops claiming he died of natural causes
says her son Brett Dryden died from foul play and is now investigating herself after being left in anguish
Brett, 35, had lived in the small town of Mojacar, in Andalusia, for five years while running a legal cannabis club called The Dawg House
But the father-of-one was found dead in his resort home on the Costa Almeria on July 22
His body had a four-inch gash to the head - but a post-mortem in Spain pinned his passing on a blood clot in his lungs
But Sandra does not buy this and believes cops are trying to cover up the death to protect the tourism industry
she believes her 5ft 5 son was "quickly" killed by someone he knew
Sandra told the Mirror: "I just want justice for my son. I will not rest until I get justice.”
“My husband got a call from his friend saying Brett had been found in his house dead and there was blood all up the walls.
"When Brett’s friends found him and went in the house the police officers initially said to them ‘there’s been a violent murder’ and that he had been hit with an axe."
Neighbours told Robert they had CCTV footage of three men running away from Brett's home on the night he died
The Durham woman said she received a call from Brett's phone hours after medics say Brett died
the heartbroken mother found it was being turned on and off and moving to different locations in Spain
Sandra said she told Spanish cops about what she had found and shared her suspicion that Brett's death was "murder"
Sandra said cops told her and husband Rob to "'take a step back and let us deal with it now’.”
Spanish cops took CCTV footage from the home just before Christmas - but there is no confirmation cops have an open homicide investigation
The fighting mum brought Brett's body home to Britain to conduct a full autopsy
Sandra is now fuming that Spanish cops have not kept her informed of the investigation - despite ringing them every day
has also been to Spain to try and speak to the Guardia
Spanish police declined to comment on the case to the Mirror
A court spokesman said: “The investigation hasn’t been suspended or closed
It is still open and this incident remains under investigation
The court is waiting for the Civil Guard to complete their full report and present their conclusions
For the time being there’s nothing more we can say.”

CELEBRITIES finally started trickling down to Mojacar
A scenic spot where they could escape the paparazzi
One day in La Parata bar I met an Englishman and his woman that were known to everyone that surrounded them – except me
Nothing could be further from any expertise I presumed I had
I didn’t know the rules of the game and in fact didn’t learn to like the game until my wife took it up
This guy was a different cut from what I presumed footballers to be
He revelled in notoriety and all the fawning that goes with it
movie star looks and always in complete control
he was coaching Crystal Palace and would be around for two weeks
It was a difficult task involving tasting different cavas and rating them 24/7
he was on the lam from the press back home
It seems he had left his wife and had taken up with Miss S; a playboy bunny he became emotionally involved with while squandering big money at the gaming tables
Coaching footballers was his specialty having had to give up playing due to tuberculosis and losing a lung
As a manager he was inventive and soon drew the notice of an ailing Joe Mercer of Manchester City fame
The two became a dynamic duo and won the league
Therein commenced a roller coaster ride with celestial highs and abysmal lows
Within a year his club were into the semi-finals of the FA Cup
Most of the crowd reputedly came to see ‘big Mal’ as he was known then
He gave them a new look sporting a fedora hat and his custom cigar
During this period I started to travel to England in hopes of meeting investors there and Malcolm became a spring board to my intensions
all the planning and saving for months before my trip backfired when I blew the entire sales budget in just two days drinking Champagne and eating at the Playboy club
Months rolled by and I decided to take another trip
While sitting with him at his house and sipping some Crystal Champagne before he was to go on national TV I asked him a question which I had been conjuring up for a long time
In the blink of an eye he replied as if waiting for the just such a chance to speak on the situation
That night while watching him enthral national audiences on the box he was ironically asked the same question – in which he gave a totally different reply
At dinner that night he told me you got to keep the “punters off balance to make them always want to listen to you.”
What began a decade ago with a simple idea over a drink at the Emerald Isle bar has grown into a much-anticipated annual event
making it another memorable day on the beach
This year’s swim not only celebrated the event’s milestone but also served as a charity fundraiser
which were severely impacted by recent floods
The funds raised during the swim will go a long way in supporting these shelters and their efforts
PAWS will continue its vital work for animals in need
while the shelters in Valencia and Malaga will use the donations to recover from the devastation caused by the recent floods
there were some fun prizes for participants
and the most swimmers in the water competition
These competitions added an extra layer of excitement and encouraged more people to take part

making a positive impact while creating lasting memories
It remains a testament to the power of coming together for a good cause
