Be one of the first to try our new activity feed
yoga class at a generic studio located somewhere in the paved-over wilds of Southern California’s San Fernando Valley
a newly minted graduate of a local training program
instructs her brand of vinyasa flow in a way that delivers all of the sweat and none of the depth
I’m not looking for enlightenment tonight; I’m looking to burn off that caramel-pecan brownie I enjoyed with my lunch
is one of those ex-dancers who naturally gravitate to yoga in their postperformance years to dazzle envious stiffies like me with their grace
Tatiana focuses more on the physical form of the practice than on its philosophical underpinnings
that’s just fine: Her form is fantastic
and delivered in plain English (we’re doing Down Dog
But then she surprises me and goes all Sanskrit on us
Half the class pauses mid-Sun Salutation to stare blankly at her
One brave soul a few mats down finally asks: “What’s that?”
we get in touch with our core muscles,” she says
her instructions are simple: “Basically
you just squeeze your anus shut and hold it.”
Tatiana’s version of Mula Bandha is either a gross oversimplification or an outright misrepresentation
But it’s the way many instructors teach this technique
which is —like so much else about yoga —esoteric
and intertwined with the ultimate goal: union with god
It is safe to say that nobody has ever squeezed their way to enlightenment; otherwise our uptight
type-A society would be rife with saints and sages
I asked a few of the best teachers from around the country
The word bandha is usually translated as “lock,” though, like most Sanskrit words
a scholar of Sanskrit and Tantra who teaches yoga philosophy within the Anusara Yoga system
Four bandhas are mentioned in the Hatha Yoga Pradipika and the Gheranda Samhita, two classical yoga texts: Mula Bandha is generally practiced in conjunction with asana; Jalandhara Bandha (Chin Lock) and Uddiyana Bandha (Upward Abdominal Lock) are more often associated with pranayama
see Keep a Cool Head and Fly Right.) The fourth
Maha Bandha (the Great Lock) is a combination of all three
“The bandhas are specific positions of the body and manipulations of the organs designed to prevent the flow of energy from escaping the body,” Pomeda explains
the bandhas are mechanisms by which an accomplished yogi can direct the flow of prana
the universal life-force energy that animates and unites all of us
but also much more than that: They serve as a gateway into the mental
it’s easy to get caught up in the physical practice
and totally forget that the physical component of yoga is just part of the preparation for enlightenment
“We go through the physical body as a doorway
but the effects on the physical body are secondary,” says David Life
cofounder of New York City’s Jivamukti Yoga Center
We may be in class to work out that part of ourselves that wants to look great in tight jeans and baby tees
but the real point of our yoga practice is to shape up that part of our being that allows our truest nature to be experienced and expressed in the external world
Tatiana was right —Mula Bandha does help us engage our core muscles and power up our poses
“It’s really about awakening consciousness
which is much more interesting than ‘contract your anus,”” says Life
and you don’t usually start with the esoteric teachings.”
which in the case of Mula Bandha is a toning and lifting of the pelvic floor
Do any of these descriptions sound familiar to you
Mula Bandha is both a subtle movement and one that involves a complex anatomical structure that’s not easy to isolate
“There’s a whole sling of musculature that extends from the tailbone to the pubic bone and supports the internal organs,” Life says
“What you’re trying to do is lift that sling.”
Unless you’re an anatomist or a fully realized yogi (in which case
chances are you’ve never even heard of most of the muscles that make up the sling Life refers to
They’re a complex group comprising the deep and superficial transverse perineal muscles
Forming a diamond shape at the base of your pelvis
they are bordered by the pubic bone in the front
it wasn’t a problem that the texts offered only a rough outline
But now that we’re divorced from the guru-to-student dynamic
even the most seasoned teachers do little more than recommend a dose of patience and a willingness to experiment with all of the different instructions you hear until you eventually discover Mula Bandha for yourself
“There are times when I’ve told a class to contract anything they can find down there just to give them something to do,” Life says
they’ll do their own investigation and get it on a deeper level.”
an Ashtanga Yoga teacher and the director of the Yoga Workshop in Boulder
offers this hint: “If you exhale very fully and smoothly
you’ll notice that the end of exhalation creates a natural toning in the pelvic floor muscles that allows you to get the last of the breath out
This is the point where Mula Bandha is set
It’s really complex but really simple
director of the Ashtanga Yoga Center in Carlsbad
For all the confusion about what it is and how to do it
even the greenest beginners may find themselves practicing Mula Bandha —and not even know it
and as you do them you’ll discover you’re doing Mula Bandha
once you “get it,” how will the bandhas change your practice
Mula Bandha is so critical to the correct performance of asana that K
instructs his students to keep Mula Bandha engaged throughout every practice; in fact
he’s often quoted as saying that it should stay engaged 24/7
meant to emphasize the importance of Mula Bandha
which when mastered and used correctly has the potential to transform even the most lackluster practice
Mula Bandha is what helps Ashtanga practitioners find the balance they need to tackle arm balances and inversions
and the strength and control they need for difficult tasks
But the list of the physical benefits to a yoga practice is nearly endless
and Freeman can rattle them off handily: “It’s grounding
Correct movement of limbs becomes more natural
they’ll be less likely to compress the spine
They’ll find more space under the belly
which is very convenient for twists.”
you gain a real sense of the central axis of the body,” says Freeman
“You learn to move from the lower belly
feeling the pelvic floor and letting it participate in aligning the body
It will help you integrate the movements of the body and give you the sense that you are composed of radiance…One becomes juicier
and more able to express feeling with the entire body through every movement.”
Iyengar teachers lead students into Mula Bandha with simple instructions that emphasize its practical application within each pose
explains advanced Iyengar instructor Joan White
Iyengar Yoga School of Central Philadelphia
“The beauty of the Iyengar system is that it gives form through direction that’s easy to digest,” White says
She offers an example: “When we sit at the beginning of class
we are told to sit exactly on the center of the sit bones and to make sure that the space is even on either side of the anus
that the pelvic floor should not be descending
that the pubic bone should be running perpendicular to the floor
and that the outer hips should be sucked in
As we’re inhaling to get ready for invocation
Gita Iyengar will often say that the sides of the navel should lift
The effect of these directions creates Mula Bandha.”
Iyengar believes it can be misused by those who might be distracted by one of its enticing side effects: increased sexual power
“The practice of asana can be very external,” she notes
“I think it’s important for people to remember the original context of hatha yoga,” says Pomeda
who was a Vedic monk in the Sarasvati order for 18 years
puts the practice into a much larger framework
all practices are geared to the awakening of kundalini and the attainment of the highest realization.”
Kundalini is the feminine energy that is classically depicted as a serpent coiled and asleep at the base of the spine
she rises up through the spine to merge with universal consciousness at the crown chakra
The bandhas —particularly Mula Bandha and Jalandhara engaged together—can be used to help create the internal pressure necessary to roust her out of her comfy home
where she might otherwise snooze away forever
you have to understand another branch of subtle anatomy: the vayus (vital airs) —patterns of energy that flow through the body
yogis use Mula Bandha to help reverse the flow of apana vayu
the naturally downward-moving energy that’s responsible for the body’s eliminative and reproductive processes (it comes into play with every bowel movement
the apana is said to have its root in the pelvic floor,” says Freeman
“If you exhale very fully and smoothly
you’ll notice that it takes attention right to the root
you draw your attention through the root as if you were drawing a string through the seat of exhalation.”
The reversal of apana vayu alone does not cause a kundalini release
but it helps create the right conditions for spiritual elevation
“The bandhas are the bridles we use to train the vayus
such as one would use a training string to tame a falcon,” says Harrigan
“Training the vayus is an important and necessary step in setting the conditions not only for better health and more vitalized energy
but also for improved spiritual development.”
And though spiritual life certainly does not end with Mula Bandha, it does, in a sense, begin there. “Engaging Mula Bandha creates a foundation,” Harrigan says. “The root of the tree is important for the entire tree. Likewise, Mula Bandha is important for making asana and pranayama beneficial. Without the bandhas, these exercises have only physical effects.”

Sanjay Kulkarni, city engineer and head of environmental department, PCMC, said, “In our reply to the notice, we stated that debris and rubble were dumped to create a temporary diversion of the riverfront development (RFD) work in progress along the river. However, orders have been issued to immediately remove the waste.”
“This is a serious offence. The illegal fill must be removed at your own expense. The riverbed should be restored to its original condition without delay and failure will attract action under the Maharashtra Irrigation Act, 1976, and other government directives,” stated RB Gawhankar, assistant engineer, Khadakwasla canal subdivision, irrigation department in the notice sent to executive engineer of environmental engineering department of PCMC.
The notice refers to the Act and a state government circular dated March 8, 2018, which prohibits such activities in river areas.

Learn one of three important "bonds," key for pranayama breath retention
(moo-lah bahn-dah) mula = root (of any tree
but also figuratively the lowest part of anything)bandha = bond
Students are typically instructed to contract
the (perineal) muscles at the base of the pelvis
THIS SHOULD NOT BE ATTEMPTED WITHOUT THE GUIDANCE OF AN EXPERIENCED TEACHER
Here we’ll simply approximate Mula Bandha
Learn Mula Bandha in Virasana (Hero Pose)
Contact the “tripod” at the base of your pelvis which consists of three bones: the tail bone (coccyx) and the two heads of the thigh (femur) bones
Your coccyx should imaginatively lengthen down and through the floor
Your femur heads should similarly sink down and through the floor (if you can’t imagine this lay a sand bag across each top thigh)
The combined actions of the bones will firm without hardening your lower belly
and spontaneously dome your perineum up into your torso without any conscious effort on your part
This latter action will in turn charge your spine
which will lift and lengthen your entire torso up through your crown
and soften it during the pause following the exhale
Around 25 citizens and environmentalists on Sunday morning protested against the ongoing riverfront development (RFD) project at Mula riverbed near Pimple Nilakh
(HT) PUNE: Around 25 citizens and environmentalists Sunday morning protested the ongoing riverfront development (RFD) project by sitting on the Mula riverbed near Pimple Nilakh
The protesters demanded that the project be paused immediately as it is harming the natural ecosystem while failing to address real issues like the cleanliness of water
The protesters said that they are frustrated by the lack of response despite repeated appeals to the chief minister
municipal commissioners and the district collector
They warned that if the RFD project does not grind to a halt within a week’s time
they will hold a stronger and larger protest at the same location on Sunday
“Environmental activists argue that the Mula
and Indrayani rivers are being compromised under the guise of development
They claim that hundreds of trees along the riverbank are being cut
leading to a loss of habitat for birds and animals
There is also concern that narrowing the riverbed will increase the risk of floods in the future.”
“The project prioritises construction and beautification over actual water purification
The focus should be on cleaning the river; not destroying its ecosystem,” Raul said
Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC)
and there have been multiple stakeholder consultations even when the detailed project report (DPR) was drawn up
Meetings were held and suggestions were taken before the DPR was drawn up
Nearly all the things were integrated into the DPR
The green activists are demanding that river cleaning and a few other things be integrated
However this can be done simultaneously and the RFD cannot be halted for cleaning the river.”
this is not the first such protest as opposition to the RFD project has been building up for weeks
citizens formed a human chain at Chaphekar Chowk
Similar protests followed on March 15 in Balewadi
and March 29 near Durgadevi Tekdi wherein protesters demanded clean rivers and protection of trees

funds managed by Northleaf have supervised the construction and optimisation of the plant
A structured sale process was initiated in late 2023
This exit is expected to close in early 2025
Northleaf European Infrastructure managing director and head Roderick Gadsby stated: “Northleaf’s successful sale of Mula underscores our ability to consistently deliver value by focusing on mid-market infrastructure assets with stable cashflow
Don’t let policy changes catch you off guard
Stay proactive with real-time data and expert analysis
de-risking and opportunistically exiting core infrastructure assets is how we achieve attractive returns for our investors across market cycles.”

PUNE: In the second such incident within a span of two weeks
many dead fish were found in the Ram Nadi near the Mula confluence in Baner on Friday
many dead fish were found in Ram Nadi near Mula confluence in Baner on Friday
chanced upon the dead fish during a site visit to monitor the ongoing Riverfront Development (RFD) work
Group volunteers said that the death of the fish coupled with the destruction of the riverbank for beautification purposes highlights the urgent need to protect river ecosystems
“Many fish have died at the Ram Nadi-Mula River confluence
The reason might be the broken sewage treatment plant (STP) at this location and the contaminated water getting mixed with the river water
many dead fish were found even in the Mutha River,” Mahajan said
A similar incident was reported on December 23 in the Mula-Mutha River in which many dead fish of the Tilapia species were found dead on the banks of Naik Bet
the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB) on December 26 issued show cause notice to the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC)
stating that the civic body was discharging untreated effluent into the river
The board asked the PMC to submit a response within 15 days to avoid action
informed that such incidents are happening frequently in the city and this is the second such incident after the incident in the Mula-Mutha River
“Today’s incident is similar to the previous incident
no efforts are being taken by the civic body to prevent such incidents,” he said
He added that the PMC should take measures to prevent river pollution and set up STPs and treat all the wastewater before being released into the river
“The reason behind the death of the fish is unknown
but it is likely to be pollution due to contaminated water
The river water at this location has turned dark
We have complained to the MPCB and PMC and officials from both have visited the location and taken samples,” he said
the dissolved oxygen in the river decreases when the contamination in the river increases
The bacteria feed on the pollutants that have entered the water
it leads to an increase in the demand for dissolved oxygen
This results in a large decline in the amount of dissolved oxygen available for fish and other aquatic animals
which can lead to their suffocation and death
“The issue is under investigation and the MPCB officials have also collected samples from the river
The reason will be clear after the reports are received
it is unusual to see fish die in the Ram Nadi as the river hardly has a fishing area,” he said
“It should be checked if the fish died in some other area and came to this location of the river bed
Ram Nadi is considered to be a drained river,” Dighe said
Pune: People working for river conservation have claimed that thousands of dead fish were found floating in Mula-Mutha river
an island situated on the river at Bund Garden
The Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB) officials visited the site and collected water samples on Monday
People working for river conservation have claimed that thousands of dead fish were found floating in Mula-Mutha river
(HT) The incident came to light on Monday
a member of citizen group Pune River Revival
posted the dead fish incident on social media
In her post Mahajan mentioned that volunteers Amitraj and Nishad Sevekari on Sunday documented dead fish found floating along the riverbank from the Naidu STP outlet till Bund Garden
She alleged chemical contamination as the cause of death as volunteers reported bad odour in the river water
“The dead fish mainly belonged to Tilapia species
There was a pungent odour likely related to a chemical in the water
The case needs a detailed investigation though we have not logged any formal complaint yet.”
A MPCB official who visited the site requesting anonymity said
“We have collected water samples to determine the cause of fish death
We think that a sewage treatment plant developed some fault
but only the sample analysis and study will reveal the cause of death
We have instructed locals to not use the river water.”
Incidents of fish dying due to contaminated water in Mula
Pavana and Indrayani rivers is a perennial problem in the Pimpri-Chinchwad area and activists have been demanding concrete measures to prevent river pollution rather than just focusing on beautification
A large number of dead fish were seen floating near Pimple Nilakh in the Mula River on Sunday
has complained to Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) chief and environment department requesting to take immediate measures to prevent river pollution
“A large number of fish were found dead due to the chemical contamination water released into the Mula river
The civic body should take immediate action,” he said
The civic body in its Environment Status Report (ESR) had stated all three rivers Mula
Pavana and Indrayani in their limits remain polluted throughout the year
These rivers are getting polluted due to the regular untreated contaminated domestic and industrial water released in the rivers
PCMC received environmental clearance for its ambitious River Rejuvenation Project (RRP) of Indrayani and Mula River from the State Environment Impact Assessment Authority (SEIAA)
“The dissolved oxygen decreases when the contamination in the river increases
and when their numbers increase it leads ti increase in demand for the dissolved oxygen
which can lead to their suffocation and death.”
city engineer and head of environment department
“Samples have been collected and sent to the laboratory for analysis
Necessary action will be taken after the investigations are completed
We have also notified the Maharashtra Pollution Control Board (MPCB) about the incident
and pollution board officials will visit the location.”
the chemically contaminated water is not released into the river within the PCMC jurisdiction
“There are no industries in PCMC limits on the Mula riverbed route
and it is possible that the untreated chemical water was released from Hinjewadi or nearby areas using a tanker,” he said

The card which provides the conclusion to the Monk of the Tenyi's character arc
In the Yu-Gi-Oh canon, Tenyi Spirit – Mula Adhara has one of the most prominent roles within the storyline surrounding the cards of the Tenyi archetype. Although Tenyi Spirit – Mula Adhara’s character arc was introduced back in 2019 as part of Yu-Gi-Oh TCG Series 10 Core Booster Rising Rampage
it’s only with the release of its titular card that this particular story arc has been wrapped up
According to Yu-Gi-Oh’s in-universe lore
the original form of Tenyi Spirit – Mula Adhara was Monk of the Tenyi
Monk of the Tenyi sought to master the secret martial art of Tenyi Style known as Flawless Perfection and traveled with Shaman of the Tenyi to further his training
This card references the storyline by the fact that it’s the combined upgraded form of Monk of the Tenyi and Tenyi Spirit – Adhara
Another reference can be seen in Eternal Perfection of the Tenyi
That card’s illustration shows Monk of the Tenyi transforming into Tenyi Spirit – Mula Adhara
those who are well-versed with Yu-Gi-Oh’s world-building and lore will be drawn to this card
This card is a counterpart of the Draco Berserker of the Tenyi from Chaos Impact
Both cards have the same ATK and DEF but opposite attributes of Light and Dark respectively
Both characters depicted also gain draconic physical features upon their respective enhancements by their related Tenyi Spirit cards

The object of the Museum "Malësia e Madhe"
The commitment of various structures for the restoration and conservation of cultural heritage monuments with historical and ethnographic value represents a special moment of appreciation
because with such an action we serve the protection of cultural monuments that are of not only local
And the range of these monuments also includes the Chun Mula Tower
which is a three-story building over two hundred years old
Seeing the carelessness of the local and central authorities towards the monument of the Chun Mula Tower
the emigrants from Malësia e Madhe organized to collect funds for its restoration
as a cultural monument with special cultural and historical importance
he managed to create a perfect organization
because in the time frame of two years they managed to collect 440 thousand US dollars
These were sufficient means to restore and conserve this object of special importance for the Great Highlands
because it represents the history of the Albanian North
In addition to those individuals who donated the necessary financial means
whose names are on the entrance of the tower
who carried out the restoration project and followed the implementation of the works
There is no doubt that the restoration of the tower of Chun Mula (1818-1896)
which is popularly known as the Tower of the Bajraktars of Hoti
is a historical tower because twelve generations have lived in this tower
from Luc Gjoni to their heirs until in our days
1919) by the Slavs (Montenegrins and Serbs)
he received the final blow during the dictatorship in Albania in 1967
It was the time when the preaching of religion was officially banned in Albania
where the heirs and family members of Çun Mula - the Bajraktar of Hoti
expelled them from their tower and exiled them
turning it sometimes into a school and sometimes into a warehouse
Only after the fall of the monist system in Albania in 1991
the heirs of Chun Mula returned to their tower.
it returned to the "Malësia e Madhe" Museum
This was the date of the inauguration where over two thousand participants were present from Malësia e Madhe
There is no doubt that the largest number was from Malësia e Madhe
were the main donors in financing the restoration of this monument
various artifacts are exhibited that are of ethnographic value of the Great Highlands
but also photographs of personalities from this province and beyond
A special place is dedicated to the national poet Father Gjergj Fishta
where he also stayed in the tower of Chun Mula where he wrote parts that are part of the monumental book "Lahuta e Malcis"
Precisely by appreciating his work in the museum there is the room of Father Gjergj Fishta
descriptions and studies and publications of foreign authors
who have been as visitors or researchers in the province of Malësia
It would even be a good idea to place a library for the Highlands (books
magazines and newspapers) in a corner of the museum
with students from different schools such as primary and secondary
lectures can be held not only on the subject of history
the Uprising of the Great Highlands (1911)
There is no doubt that the compilers of the data for the various exhibits have a lack of data
especially for some historical personalities
but we hope that they will be improved by providing complete data
Museum under the authority of the City Hall
All those who will travel through the Malësia e Madhe from the south to Hot and continuing to Kelmend
have the opportunity to visit the Museum "Malësia e Madhe"
because the history and ethnoculture of the Albanian North is presented there
this museum represents an added value for cultural tourism
a phenomenon which has multidimensional values
both for locals and foreigners. And finally
it must be said that since there is no museum in Koplik as the administrative center of the Malësia e Madhe Municipality
it would be appropriate for the Hoti Bajraktar Tower
which is now called the "Malësia e Madhe" Museum
to be under the jurisdiction of the Municipality
who know the history and ethnoculture of the province and beyond
Such an action would be in favor of the protection of cultural heritage in Malësi e Madhe as everywhere in the civilized world

Officials from the Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and forest department carried out a joint visit to Devrai aka ‘Sacred Grove’ during which they interacted with citizens who raised several objections to the Riverfront Development (RFD) Project at the confluence of the Ram Nadi and Mula River
especially the razing of trees in the grove for the same
The officials assured citizens that no harmful activities would be carried out in the grove
and also asked them to submit their suggestions on the project
The joint visit was carried out against the backdrop of concerns raised by citizens over the safety of the sacred grove due to ongoing work on the RFD Project at the confluence of the Ram Nadi and Mula River
(HT) The joint visit was carried out against the backdrop of concerns raised by citizens over the safety of the sacred grove due to ongoing work on the RFD Project at the confluence of the Ram Nadi and Mula River
Forests and Climate Change (MoEFCC) directed the state forest department to look into the people’s grievances and take action against the alleged destruction of the Devrai (and the trees therein) at the Ram Nadi-Mula River confluence for the RFD Project
the range forest officer of the Pune forest department paid a visit to the Devrai and recommended that the RFD Project be halted
the range forest officer highlighted that the sacred grove
is home to multiple plant species and schedule 1 and schedule 2 wildlife species such as the Grey Heron
Cinnamon Bittern and rare wild bird species (which come under the Wildlife Protection Act 1972)
the area should be protected and declared as a community reserve
PMC officials held a meeting with forest department officials after which officials from both government agencies carried out a joint visit on Thursday
“The major issue we raised is about the sewage pipeline that is going to be laid along the river bank under the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) Project
machinery will be used that may cause destruction of the grove
The grove has an ecosystem comprising grassland
Many birds frequent the grove and their nesting sites can be seen
We demanded that the area be protected and that officials come up with an alternative to the pipeline.”
range forest officer of the Pune forest department
“The department has given its recommendations and PMC officials have assured that no harmful activities will be conducted in the said area.” Regarding his recommendation that the area be declared a community reserve
we have not initiated any action for the same.”
“We will consider the demand for an alternative to the pipeline to avoid possible damage to the sacred grove.” Shinde asked citizens to submit their suggestions on the project

The Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation has received environmental clearance for the River Rejuvenation Project (RRP) of Indrayani and Mula Rivers from the State Environment Impact Assessment Authority (SEIAA)
the total cost of Indrayani RRP is ₹ 979 crore out of which
PMRDA will spend ₹ 410 crore and Alandi Municipal Council will spend ₹ 43 crore
the civic body submitted a proposal to rejuvenate the Pavana
SEIAA has denied permission for the project and had asked the civic body to resubmit the proposal after getting permission from the Central Water and Power Research Station (CWPRS)
SEIAA gave environmental clearance for the project to be implemented on the Indrayani River and augmented environmental clearance for the Mula river project
The PCMC applied for the AMRUT scheme which has been approved and the civic body will receive funds from the government under the scheme
The project cost for Mula RRP is ₹ 320 crore
city engineer and head of the PCMC environment department
“The civic body has made a budget provision of ₹ 200 crore for the Indrayani RRP
The tenders will be soon floated for the project and the work will be started
the tender for Mula RRP has been already floated and the work order for Mula River will be issued next week.”
green activists and NGOs had opposed the RRP project earlier and approached NGT due to which the work order was not issued
The PCMC later revised the original plan after which the augmented environmental clearance was given by the government
As per the environmental clearance given by SEIAA the civic body has undertaken retaining and integrating small and large non-invasive trees
As many as 4000 small invasive trees will be removed and the transplantation of 3300 non-invasive trees within the project boundary and in the gardens of Moshi areas will be carried out
The municipal corporation has agreed to plant an additional 26,000 trees of native species within the proposed boundary
The trees have to be maintained for five years from plantation/transplantation and submit a quarterly compliance report to the concerned authority.

has a hit a roadblock as ₹100 crore in funds allocated by the central government through the state government has been put on hold

The central government will provide 85% of the funds while the PMC will contribute 15%
11 new sewage treatment plants (STPs) will be built in the city
work on 10 out of which has already started
the project initially faced delay due to lack of funds from the central government
With the bills of contractors working on the STPs pending and the PMC struggling to buy new machines owing to lack of funds
It was only after continuous follow-up by the PMC that the central government finally approved ₹200 crore in December 2024
₹100 crore out of which was sent to the state government in January 2025
the state government has not yet transferred the amount to the PMC
the PMC has also requested an additional ₹150 crore from the central government by the end of March with the central government agreeing to provide this amount
“The PMC is working to get funds from the state government as soon as possible
A request for more funds has also been sent to the Centre and we expect to receive ₹150 crore by the end of March.”
