There are certain names that will forever be enshrined with golden letters on the grand stage of cycling
and Induráin are just a tiny fraction of the cycling legends that still make us giddy
the one most commonly referred to as the GOAT is
while Merckx will always be the one that young and old cyclists compare with
there is one rider who not only crossed swords with the best but drove Merckx to his knees
the Spanish climber who did what many thought was impossible – he broke Merckx
He didn’t just beat him; he obliterated him
history remembers Merckx as the greatest of all time while Ocaña remains an asterisk
A man who had it all and lost it in the cruellest of ways
This is the story of a rider who could have been one of the all-time greats but was ultimately undone by bad luck
Eddy Merckx (the same age as Ocaña) was already devouring the competition – winning races at will
if you lined up against Merckx during the late 1960s and early 1970s
you were practically racing for second place
Ocaña decided he wouldn’t be just another name on Merckx’s victim list
The 1971 Tour de France was supposed to be another chapter in the legend of Eddy Merckx
he had already won the Tour in 1969 and 1970
and nobody truly believed anyone could stop him
The flat stages were hardly a problem for the Cannibal
Following the advice of five-time Tour winner Jacques Anquetil
the Spaniard launched a devastating counterattack and
Merckx managed to spring into action and reduce the loss
and by the time he crossed the finish line
he had put an astounding 8 minutes and 42 seconds in front of the Cannibal
at a time when Merckx dominated nearly every race he entered
The Spaniard set such a high pace that after the race
61 cyclists couldn’t finish in the allowed time
This meant only 32 riders were left in the race
the organisers decided to allow all but three to remain in the race
Ocaña didn’t just mop the floor with Merckx and other legends like Van Impe and Zoetemelk
but he single-handedly was about to blow up the entire Tour de France
This wasn’t just a stage win – it was a statement
The cycling world erupted with speculation
Could this be the man to finally dethrone Merckx
he tried to chip away at Ocaña’s lead
Ocaña matched every move and entered the Pyrenees with a comfortable lead
looking poised to claim his first Tour de France title
was where Ocaña’s dream turned into a nightmare
But what neither man expected was that the weather would be the ultimate deciding factor
As the peloton began its descent down the Col de Menté
winding roads into a treacherous slip-and-slide
Riders were struggling just to stay upright
Ocaña had countered about five attacks from the Belgian and was not ready to give up due to a trivial problem like a punctured tyre
both riders overran a flooded left bend and fell
Merckx quickly got up and continued with minor bruises
Other riders also missed the turn and crashed right into the Spaniard’s unprotected body
waving for a spare wheel from his team car
Another rider came out of the corner and hit him one more time
An ambulance was dispatched and quickly took the almost champion to the summit
where a helicopter transferred him to the nearby hospital
while Merckx continued his march to his third Tour de France victory in a row
the Belgian refused to wear the yellow jersey he received after Ocaña dropped out
Ocaña had broken Merckx – but the Tour had broken him
After one of history’s most heartbreaking Tour exits
Merckx himself was doubting whether to join the Tour
as he wanted to conquer La Vuelta that year
But with many rightfully claiming he only won 1971’s Tour due to luck
Both riders were playing carefully; Ocaña was patiently waiting for the mountain stages
while Merckx was storing energy to counter the explosive power of the Spaniard
Stage 7 was Ocaña’s time to drive his first devastating attack
The Spaniard started aggressively from the get-go
He finished gaining 1 minute 49 seconds over his biggest rival
Merckx knew that Ocaña was the only one that could beat him
He knew that if the Spaniard managed to escape
he’d eat up Merckx’s lead in just one stage
he lost over 4 minutes to Merckx and even lost his second spot to Guimard
the doctors found out that Ocaña was racing with a lung infection caused by his fall in the 7th stage
he gave the best cyclist in the world a run for their money
and he left his competition gasping for air
The Cannibal had skipped the Tour that year
choosing instead to focus on the Vuelta and the Giro
but the asterisk next to his victory was undeniable
and his aggressive riding style took its toll
While Merckx continued adding to his legacy
not by lack of talent but by sheer cruel misfortune
but cycling – like life – isn’t always fair
He tried wine-making and even dabbled in cycling management
but nothing filled the void left by his unfinished legacy
Merckx went on to become synonymous with cycling
An idol and a role model for aspiring cyclists
there was one rider that could take him any time
But Ocaña was so much more than a footnote in Merckx’s legacy
and a cautionary tale of how cycling is just as unforgiving

A study led by María Daca-Álvarez and coordinated by Francesc Balaguer, both from the Gastrointestinal and Pancreatic Oncology group at IDIBAPS
has revealed significant geographical differences in the clinical
pathological and familial characteristics of early-onset colorectal cancer - that is
diagnosed before the age of 50 - in Europe
Their analysis shows that this type of cancer does not present in the same way in all regions
which could have implications for clinical and preventive approaches.
The research, recently published in the journal BJS Open
included a total of 851 patients from six European countries: Spain
in Mediterranean countries such as Spain and Italy
early-onset colorectal cancer is more associated with environmental factors such as overweight and obesity
in non-Mediterranean countries such as the United Kingdom and the Netherlands
family history has a more significant weight in the onset of the disease
in addition to presenting at an earlier age.
Colorectal cancer is the third most diagnosed among men and the second among women worldwide
Although its overall incidence is decreasing thanks to screening programmes in people over 50 years of age
different patterns are detected depending on the country and region
the regional incidence of early-onset colorectal cancer can vary up to tenfold
This research is framed within the international consortium GEOCODE (Global Early-Onset Colorectal Cancer Database)
which aims to study and analyse the clinical and translational aspects of early-onset colorectal cancer worldwide.
“This collaborative analysis highlights the urgent need to adapt preventive and diagnostic strategies to the context of each region
lifestyle and environmental factors," explains Francesc Balaguer
head of the Gastroenterology service at the Hospital Clínic
and one of the coordinators of the work together with José Perea from the University of Salamanca.
one of the first-named authors of the article
emphasizes: “The confirmation of geographical differences helps us to characterise the disease
but it also helps us to understand its molecular basis and to define a more personalised management for it.”

meets tough competitionCatie Mohr Mar 102 min readThe Willamette Basketball Club women's squad poses after their scrimmage at home against UO Club Basketball on Feb.9 Photo courtesy of Karina Akre.Last weekend
the Willamette Basketball Club took on opponents from powerhouse schools such as ASU and U of A in Phoenix
as a part of the National Intramural and Recreational Sports Association’s (NIRSA) Western Regional Tournament
going to a national tournament didn’t even seem like a possibility last semester
started by alumni Joaquin Ocaña (ʼ24) and Maxwell Fontaine (ʼ24) in the spring of 2023
has seen a surge in consistent turnout since they moved their practices to Mondays and Thursdays at the beginning of this spring semester
who has been hired as the club’s official coach since graduating
they have around 19 total members going to Arizona — 11 for the men’s team
8 for the women’s — with this number not reflecting the total regular turnout they get at practices
This roster represents a vast improvement from where they were last semester: “Last year
we only had around four or five people,” said Malachi Washington (ʼ25)
There’s a lot of people here who are still learning how to play basketball.” Along with novices to the game
the club has drawn some of its membership from former Willamette varsity players such as Ava Kitchin (MBA ʼ25) and Carolyn Ho (ʼ25)
A cross-state travel tournament hadn’t always been on the club’s radar
“Malachi brought it up sometime around November
No way we can make this happen,’” said Ocaña
But as they began to do some investigating
the club’s exec team found that there was more precedent than they’d anticipated for club sports traveling
“We looked at [previous funding requests from other clubs] just to get an idea of what was feasible
if we budget … it might be doable,’” said Ocaña
the final price tag ended up being around $9,000
with the participants having to front some of the costs themselves for flights
That number covers everything the club might need
jerseys and transportation forming the bulk of the expenses
but [the tournament’s] gonna be eye-opening and pretty hard.” Regardless of their nerves
Ocaña and Washington are focused simply on getting better
“I think that’s kinda the biggest reason we went through with it
really compete in tournaments like [this one],” said Ocaña
is scheduled to begin her prison sentence next Monday

who was arrested in February for illegally bringing $102,000 into the United States from Havana
has been sentenced to five months in prison for two counts of money smuggling
was also sentenced to three years of probation after completing her time in prison
according to a statement from an official of the Central Florida District Attorney's Office to the Café Fuerte portal
Mizelle considered that the defendant had pleaded guilty to the charges and had no prior criminal record
she could have received up to five years in prison
Ocaña must report to prison next Monday to serve his sentence
had requested that the sentence not exceed eight months of house arrest along with an additional month of probation
Although his client will still have to go to jail
"The guidelines indicated a minimum of eight months of jail time
but considering what we could have received
Mercado has consistently claimed that his client merely made "a mistake that anyone could make." He has also firmly denied any connection with the former Cuban Minister of Economy
who was dismissed and charged with corruption
the prosecution argued that of the 45 trips to Cuba he made since May 2023
at least 16 were for money smuggling operations
and that he earned between $1,000 and $2,500 for each one as payment from his co-conspirators
Ocana [SIC] did not declare the cash as required by law
and that behavior continued until federal agents searched him
And Ocana was not smuggling small amounts of cash just over the permitted threshold of $10,000
he had more than $100,000 expertly arranged in his luggage to hide it from authorities," detailed Assistant Prosecutor Michael J
The Cuban woman was arrested on February 5 at Tampa International Airport during a routine inspection
Customs and Border Protection (CBP) agents discovered $102,709 in cash that had not been declared
The money was distributed in her luggage and among her clothing
she confessed that she received payments ranging from $1,000 to $2,500 for each trip she made from Cuba to smuggle large sums of undeclared money into the United States
The National Security Investigations team has handled this case
Buchanan highlighting the seriousness of the charges
which include smuggling and conspiracy with an unidentified individual to transport illicit money to the United States
laws allow the entry of any amount of cash
but require that amounts exceeding $10,000 be declared
This regulation aims to combat money laundering and criminal activities

summer is a time to think about their future careers by working internships in their desired field
This summer the United States Marshals Service (USMS) has over 25 interns out of its headquarters in Arlington
the USMS is celebrating the contributions and projects they have completed during their programs thus far as a part of National Intern Day
Each intern is assigned to a supervisor within a staff office or division
Interns work on projects like revamping internal practices
“It’s a lot more than just administrative work,” said Nyla Souffrant
a political science and international affairs major at the University of Georgia
I get to be hands-on with what I actually want to do career-wise
That’s how I know I’m in the right career field.”
“It’s absolutely worth getting involved because it’s so hands-on,” said Alexander Williams
a biology and history student at Yale University
it’s been to hit the ground running and just sprint.”
USMS interns have the opportunity to go on field trips
Interns this summer have visited with employees at the Secret Service
“We try to gauge the interest of the students so that it truly is the best use of their time,” said Jonathan Ocana
“We want them to be exposed to things that are of actual interest to them and not what we are projecting on them.”
“Being here has given me an opportunity and a platform to learn stuff that I would have never learned at any other internship,” said Javier Simpson
a political science student at John Jay College of Criminal Justice
The USMS internship program is well-established and can lead to permanent employment opportunities within the agency
“There are countless executives who have been here for close to 20 years
and they talk about having an internship experience here,” said Ocana. Each year the USMS headquarters has students from over 50 colleges partake in its internship program
Some of the interns from this summer’s cohort are from Virginia Tech
“You’re always working on the next generation,” Ocana said
“Interns are the population that we’re going to be recruiting later in life

Prosecutors said he recorded about 100 videos of himself abusing his girlfriend's 3-year-old daughter and 5-year-old son
A Santa Fe man initially charged with 70 counts of child abuse and animal cruelty in connection with his mistreatment of two children and their cat pleaded guilty to 13 of those counts Friday as part of a deal which calls for him to serve a 30-year prison sentence
will be deported following his prison sentence and banned from reentering the country or ever becoming a U.S
Glenn Ellington said at his sentencing Friday
Twelve of the crimes Ocana-Escalante admitted to as part of the plea deal are third-degree felony child abuse charges
The 13th is a charge of manufacturing a visual medium of sexual exploitation of children related to his having filmed the children while they were bathing with an emphasis on their genitals
The charges he pleaded to carried a potential maximum penalty of 48 years in prison; 18 years were suspended as part of the agreement
which also resulted in the dismissal of the remaining charges including several counts of animal cruelty
Court observers sat in stunned silence at Ocana-Escalante’s plea hearing Friday as Deputy District Attorney Haley Murphy showed some of what she said were about 100 videos Ocana-Escalante recorded on his phone showing himself abusing the 3-year-old girl and 5-year-old boy who are the children of his former girlfriend
Most of the videos showed him abusing the girl
waking her from sleep by punching her in the head
holding her up by her hair as he struck her in the face and tossing her about the room into various pieces of furniture
One of the clips showed Ocana-Escalante kicking both children in the side
back and head as they lay on the floor and holding a blanket over the girl’s nose and mouth
Ocana-Escalante was cursing at the children
telling them to be quiet or telling them to stop crying
he used the claws of the children’s cat to scratch their feet and had also woken them up by poking their feet with thumbtacks and safety pins
The prosecutor said the child’s mother discovered Ocana-Escalante was abusing her children last summer when she looked through his phone and found the videos he’d shot of himself hurting the children
the mother recorded the videos on her own phone and called 911
The woman’s family members later recalled she’d complained of fatigue since she’d begun dating Ocana-Escalante a few months earlier
leading police to suspect he had been drugging the woman so she wouldn’t wake up while he was abusing her children in the middle of the night
Ocana-Escalante’s attorney Sheri Raphaelson told the court Friday he’d undergone two physiological examinations
neither of which had been able to pinpoint any factors which might explain his behavior
“This is an individual who derives pleasure from the pain
adding one of the videos not shown depicted him masturbating to a video of the little girl crying as he muttered to himself that no one was coming to help her
Ocana-Escalante answered “guilty” calmly and clearly as the judge asked him how he plead to each of the counts included in the agreement
saying he was “deeply sorry” for all the damage he’d caused
the family and people who had to watch the videos of his abuse in court Friday
but I understand that this is something that’s pretty much unforgivable,” he said
Ocana-Escalante said he hoped the victims could heal
and he wanted them to know they didn’t need to live in fear looking over their shoulders for his retaliation
The judge called that promise a hollow one
“When our children wake up in the middle of the night from a bad dream
we hold them and comfort them and tell them
‘No there are not really monsters in the world,’ that that’s all made up,” Ellington said

Angela Ocaña was named Director of the Eugene Public Library
She’s worked in libraries since she was a teen
and came to Eugene in 2017 to work in the library’s Youth Services department
Ocaña talked about the teen room she helped create at the downtown branch
Angela Ocaña: There's this notion that there isn't a place for teenagers in libraries
and also that there's not a place for teenagers in our society
I want to help create the space for teenagers that I wanted as a teen
I want to play Dungeons and Dragons and meet friends and do art and
So that's kind of what was my inspiration is—I want to give kids positive adult role models in their life because that helps to lead to success
And that's the motto that we've taken certainly at the Eugene Public Library
But the piece that fuels my excitement for libraries is giving people who don't find a space in our community and giving them something at the library
Rachael McDonald: All different types of people come to the library
And so how do you balance accessibility with safety and a sense of it being for everyone
There are still people to this day who want to shush and say that libraries should be quiet places
And you want to know that there's a place for everyone
There are spaces to build community with different people and that may not resonate with folks who grew up in a library as a quiet place and this is where we come and these are the things we do
McDonald: You've come into this position at a time when the library is facing challenges because of the city's budget woes
and the library is taking cuts already and is now looking at more cuts
Ocaña: We've had to look at budget reductions as a way of not removing services
but it actually has made us think and adapt in different ways—kind of like the pandemic did where we had to be more creative and more thoughtful
we're just actually just moving them to different days that are more strategic
And we never would have really thought about that if we had had budget reductions
We would have just kept going in the same old the same old
And now we're trying to think creatively about how we do programs
And I think that's our responsibility as people in government
I know people don't always think of the library as a part of government
but we want to do our part around fiscal responsibility and make those really great moves
So our community doesn't really feel the impact of budget cuts
That's the power that we have in that kind of situation
McDonald: Another challenge that libraries are facing is that there are people out there who want to control who can read what books
How has the Eugene Public library experienced that
Have there been challenges to books that you've had to deal with
Ocaña: I sit on the American Library Association's Intellectual Freedom Round Table
and I was the chair of that for a little while
And so book banning and challenges are really familiar
We're really open to people reading,’ and that's not actually true
One of the largest book challenges came when a book formerly called George—now called Melissa's Story—became an OBOB (Oregon Battle of the Books) book
And it became the number one nationwide most challenged book because of Oregon
and because of people saying 'we don't want our kids to read this foul book.' But
it was a book that had been vetted by teachers and librarians as important and everyone loves the Oregon Battle of the Books
And so to say that Oregon doesn't have a part in book bannings isn't correct
what we've seen is pieces of silent censorship
people not returning a book that they don't agree with
people writing disparaging things into books
And we've seen an increase in the number of challenges last year at the public library
why is this material on the shelf?’ which is a responsible thing to do
But when it comes from a place of malice and misunderstanding
it doesn't have a place for us in our community
And we have policies that help us ensure that everyone has the right to read
As a woman—and a queer brown woman—who didn't see myself reflected in literature
I am blown away that kids can now really see themselves reflected in those books
So to think about those books being removed about kids not having the ability to ride a magical dragon and see themselves—like
I think that's our hope and our focus is that everyone will find something for them
something that resonates and lets them dream and imagine
This report aims to assess the needs of IDPs experiencing individual displacement because of conflict in Colombia
with a specific focus on the municipalities of Bogotá
Individual displacement tends to be underreported to the authorities
rendering those affected less visible and leaving them in precarious conditions without adequate support
The analysis examines the specific challenges that individually displaced people face
highlighting barriers to accessing basic services
The findings of this report are based on a combination of secondary data review and primary data collection through key informant interviews (KIIs) and focus group discussions (FGDs)
This report cites KIIs to encompass insights gathered from both individual KIIs and FGDs
the latter conducted with people who have experienced displacement because of armed conflict and are currently residing in the studied municipalities
The primary data collection focused on gathering information specifically about individual displacement
The secondary data included reports and documents from humanitarian organisations
providing a broad context of displacement dynamics across Colombia
Data collection was conducted in collaboration with REACH
involving 33 KIIs and six FGDs across the four municipalities (Bogotá
The analysis team chose to focus on these municipalities given their status as major host locations for IDPs
the significant number of arrivals in each location
and their geographic and strategic importance in providing an understanding of the displacement dynamics
Accessing reliable data on individual displacement presents significant challenges
A central issue for this report was distinguishing the needs and experiences of individually displaced people from those undergoing mass displacement
the primary data collection tools explicitly focused on individual displacement
this report uses the term ‘IDP’ when the type of displacement (individual or mass) is not explicitly stated
This undermines efforts to accurately assess the number of individually displaced people and their needs upon arrival in host municipalities
Unidad para la Atención y Reparación Integral a las Víctimas (UARIV)
the national unit providing assistance to victims of armed conflict
keeps records on the number of displaced people
but these figures largely rely on IDPs actively declaring their status at UARIV offices
According to a 2024 Humanitarian NGO Forum survey
31% of the surveyed IDPs did not declare their displacement
The three main reasons for not declaring were fear for their safety (23%)
and a lack of knowledge about the process (18%) (Humanitarian NGO Forum 22/05/2024)
Institutional distrust underpins these main reasons
many IDPs perceive institutional responses as inadequate or facing delays from bureaucratic processes
a formal complaint against non-state armed groups (NSAGs) or other responsible parties must be filed with the prosecutor’s office as part of the declaration process
High demand at UARIV offices and other regional institutions often forces IDPs to wait long periods for appointments
heightening their vulnerability as they struggle to secure their basic needs (KII 16/10/2024; KII 21/10/2024; KII 30/09/2024; KII 01/10/2024)
key informants noted that IDPs are often concerned about the confidentiality of the information they share with institutions
fearing that declaring their displacement status may expose them to risks
particularly in areas with a high presence of NSAGs (KII 01/10/2024; KII 21/10/2024; KII 20/10/2024)
there are significant information gaps regarding the specific needs of individually displaced people
including the exact number of people in need and a more granular understanding of their challenges
There is also a lack of information on the needs of individually displaced people with disabilities and the LGBTQ+ population

Andy Chavez Ocana is the Associate Director of Education in the Florence Nightingale Faculty of Nursing
he tells us about his career in the Faculty and how he has progressed
could you tell us about your background and career before joining King’s
I started my career in an entry level post at a satellite campus of the University of Buckingham in 2013
Then I side stepped to a similar role at SOAS University of London 18 months after
At SOAS I worked my way up the ladder through different roles as Department Officer
Department Manager and my final role as Head of an area
I spent about three years in that role until I felt as if I needed a change which brought me to King's
I started as a Senior Programmes Manager and moved into the Associate Director of Education role
What was it like moving roles within the Faculty
what support and encouragement did you have from colleagues and managers
The move itself was relatively comfortable
colleagues already knew me from my previous role and so were very supportive
My line manager and their manager were also very supportive
making time to answer questions and help me get a sense of the role I was applying for
The hardest thing was probably overcoming my own insecurities and actually listening to what people were saying
when that happened it really reminded me of the skills I have accrued over the years that will help me in the role
What would you say to someone looking to develop and grow within King’s but unsure about where to start
I would encourage people to find opportunities for development
lending a hand to a service area when they need it
training courses or even challenging their manager to help them develop
The next thing I would recommend is keeping a skills diary
I have one which I regularly complete with examples of where I have learnt new skills either through development or work
This has helped massively when it comes to completing applications and you just can't remember when you have done something
Finally I would encourage anyone wishing to grow to become comfortable with change
This can often be scary and as humans we hate it
but the more comfortable you become with it
the better you will become at throwing yourself into the unknown and succeeding
email templates or even the way you approach your own career
the more changes you put in place and attempt
the more comfortable you will become and that will help you grow
What is your favourite thing about working at King’s
sometimes it does not implement things immediately
but it does listen and you often get to see changes further down the line
Obviously the Faculty is the best for the work we do for the NHS and the group of students we work with
and working with a group of staff and students you are passionate about is very important to me
What do you do with your time outside of work
whether it is a small DYI project at home or fixing the car
I am always one to throw myself into those situations
I probably make the problem worse but I like giving it a try

Residents at the Village Square Apartments in Gastonia are looking for solutions to fix problems with the city’s new public transportation system that they say have made public transportation in the city unattainable
said she was stranded at Walmart for more than three hours after using GoGastonia
the city’s new ride-share style transportation system
she used the app to schedule a pick-up for the ride in one of the city’s accessible vans to accommodate her wheelchair
After shopping for roughly an hour and picking up her insulin
Ruiz-Ocana said she opened the app to schedule a ride home
Riders who cannot access the app can also call 704-753-7439 to schedule a ride
Ruiz-Ocana called the number multiple times and was informed each time that there were no drivers in the area to pick her up
Ruiz-Ocana said she is lucky enough to have a daughter who was able to pick her up this time
Another Village Square resident told Ruiz-Ocana that he was stranded at Target after a similar experience with GoGastonia
The resident called the number for hours until finally being told the service was closed for the day
When Ruiz-Ocana called the customer service center to inform them of the issue
she said they told her she could look into other forms of transportation
local taxi services are typically not accessible to riders with wheelchairs and also cost significantly more money when they are ADA accessible
She said the challenges surrounding the new transportation system have limited her freedom and ability to go out without help from her daughter
I feel horrible for the people in my complex here because we’ve got a lot of people that won’t ride now because they don’t know if they’ll be picked up
Somebody doesn’t realize the anxiety of getting in a vehicle
After bringing her concerns to a City Council meeting Aug
Ruiz-Ocana said Gastonia Department of Transportation Director Randi Gates agreed to meet with residents of the apartment complex in their community room Thursday to discuss their concerns
Gastonia Spokeswoman Mary Elliott said the city is currently working with Via Transportation to find solutions
Ruiz-Ocana said she believes the resolution to these issues is to allow riders to pre-schedule a pick-up time for their return trip when they are riding round-trip and to fix the issues at the call center
GoGastonia was unveiled in July after the contract with Via Transportation, a company with a focus on microtransit, was approved in place of Gastonia’s former fixed-route bus system earlier this year.

The controversial past of Telefónica's vice president | EDATV NEWS The Dark Past of Sánchez's 'connection' at Telefónica Who Could Be Vice PresidentCarlos Ocaña
is proposed by the Government for the vice presidency of the company.26/02/2025 15:31:00h by Jose Andres Jorge Barceló
Carlos Ocaña, also known for his collaboration with Pedro Sánchez in writing a book, has stood out today. His figure, close to PSOE, and with an extensive career in the economic and business field, has sparked controversy after being proposed by the Government for the vice presidency of Telefónica.
He has previous experience in the economic team of La Moncloa during José Luis Rodríguez Zapatero's term. As well as in the Ministry of Industry, under the direction of Miguel Sebastián, Ocaña brings a solid background in public and private management.
His role as an advisor in companies like Paradores demonstrates his versatility. In addition to his leadership capacity in different fields.
Carlos Ocaña maintains a close relationship with Pedro Sánchez, the president of the Government. According to ABC, Ocaña was a co-author with Sánchez of the book based on his controversial doctoral thesis. The same one that was subject to plagiarism and has been a key figure within PSOE.
A highlighted aspect of Ocaña's career is his relationship with the current president of the Government through his work on the book. In 2012, Pedro Sánchez obtained his doctorate with a thesis riddled with academic irregularities. ABC detailed this in 2018.
Sánchez places a trusted man in Telefónica's vice presidency | Europa PressAlthough Ocaña's name doesn't appear in the original thesis, it does appear in the book based on it. Under the title "The New Economic Diplomacy," published in 2014. The book was registered in 2013 by the Delta publishing house, with Pedro Sánchez as director and Carlos Ocaña as co-author.
Regarding the plagiarism, the book was even more controversial. It included at least 161 lines copied from other texts without proper citations or references.
The Government makes a move at Telefónica. It is not limited to having removed José María Álvarez-Pallete from the presidency of Telefónica to place Marc Murtra, linked to PSC and former executive of Indra, in his place.
Now, it has taken a new step by proposing the promotion of Carlos Ocaña, current member of the operator's board and close to the Executive. All to make him the vice president of the company.
This information has created a great stir on social media who see how Sánchez continues to place trusted people in high positions.
Let's remember the advisor was already appointed by Moncloa for the company.
This happened when SEPI completed the purchase of 10% of Telefónica's capital. Then, the president of the Government rewarded him with the position of advisor in the operator, and now he also becomes vice president.
accused of possessing over $102,000 on a return trip from Havana to Tampa
denied having any type of connection with the ousted former Minister of Economy and Planning Alejandro Gil Fernández
This case has nothing to do with any Cuban government official
Gil or anyone," said Ocaña's lawyer Juan C
Mercado to journalist Wilfredo Cancio Isla
with two charges after being caught last February entering more than $102,000 from Cuba through Tampa Airport without declaring them to US authorities
especially among Cuban independent media outlets
who questioned the arrival of such an excessive amount of money at a time when the Minister of Economy and Planning
was being removed from his position and accused of alleged corruption by the Cuban regime
What happens is that the scandal is more attractive," mentioned Cancio Islas
the woman has a hearing scheduled to review her case
Her lawyer has expressed optimism about the results that can be achieved
we are reviewing all the evidence in detail to make a decision on whether we can reach an agreement and resolve the case in her best interest," the lawyer stated
The woman faces charges including cash smuggling and conspiracy with an unidentified person to transport
and introduce money illegally into the United States
law requires that anyone entering the country with more than $10,000 in cash must declare it
Ocaña admitted to smuggling money into the United States since June 2023
making between 2 and 3 trips a month to the island
he claimed to have received payments ranging from $1,000 to $2,500
it was discovered that Ocaña had visited Cuba 45 times since May 2023
Despite admitting his knowledge of the illegality of entering money without declaring it
approximately a hundred thousand dollars were seized from him in total
Ocaña apparently emigrated from Cuba on an unknown date and initially settled in an apartment in the city of Hialeah
where he occupied a modest home in a mobile home park and had a car of little value

Hundreds of priests from the Province of Ocaña and many more faithful
attended the funeral of Father Ramón Arturo Montejo Peinado
who was brutally murdered in a robbery on Thursday 6 Jun in his hometown of Teorama. The attack on Fr Montejo took place on 4 June
in a parking lot in the Jesús Cautivo neighbourhood of Ocaña
where the priest had parked his vehicle.According to witnesses and security camera footage
the 45-year-old priest was approached by two people who ordered him to get out of the vehicle
the perpetrators stabbed him twice in the back
then threw him out of the vehicle and ran over him with the same vehicle
The Colombian police say they have arrested the men believed to be responsible for the priest's murder
They are two people of Venezuelan nationality."We deeply condemn that irrational violence caused the death of a priest who dedicated his life to spreading the message of Jesus Christ of peace and love
We categorically reject this act of barbarism that threatens not only the life of a human being
but also the fundamental principles of coexistence and humanity," said the Archbishop of Nueva Pamplona and Apostolic Administrator of the Diocese of Ocaña
condemning the barbaric murder of Fr Montejo.Born in the parish of Teorama (Norte de Santander)
Fr Montejo was parish priest in San José de Buenavista (Ocaña) and delegate of the Diocesan Commission for Reconciliation and Peace
He was known in the Catatumbo region for participating in humanitarian missions that led to the release of several kidnapped people. For this reason
Mgr Soto asked the authorities to fully clarify the circumstances of his murder
The local press raised the question in particular of whether it was a murder following a robbery with a tragic outcome or a contract killing to get rid of a socially committed priest
commander of the Norte de Santander Police Directorate
since one of the people arrested was apparently an acquaintance of the priest who had been invited to a meeting at the place where he was killed

harmed two children after moving into their mother's home in May
A Santa Fe man initially charged with five counts of abusing a young girl now faces dozens of charges accusing him of severe physical abuse of two children and their pets
has been held in the Santa Fe County jail since his arrest Aug
18 on suspicion of repeatedly beating a girl
After further investigation by officers in the Santa Fe Police Department’s Special Victims Unit
Deputy Chief Ben Valdez said in a news release issued Monday
the agency filed an amended criminal complaint against him
Ocana-Escalante is now accused of 63 counts of abusing the girl and her brother after moving into their mother’s home in May
He also faces six counts of abusing animals in the home and one count of child sexual exploitation
The criminal complaint states he is suspected of producing an image depicting a sexual act or simulation involving a child
but does not specify whether the count is tied to the young siblings
The complaint lists all 70 counts against Ocana-Escalante
citing alleged incidents between June and August in which he is accused of punching
pulling the girl by her hair and even sticking her with pins or tacks
Most of the counts allege abuse of the girl
according to a motion filed by prosecutors who seek to have Ocana-Escalante detained until his trial
The document was filed in state District Court Aug
when Ocana-Escalante faced the initial five counts
who found bruises on her daughter last month
also discovered more than 100 videos on Ocana-Escalante’s phone that show him striking the child
including while she was sleeping and sometimes with enough force to send her flying across the room
The woman told police she recorded the videos on her own phone after he became heavily intoxicated and fell asleep
Prosecutors note in the motion Ocana-Escalante was charged in May 2020 with attempted murder in a drive-by shooting
A report in The New Mexican at the time stated he and another man were accused of following a silver vehicle from Santa Fe to a supermarket in Pojoaque
where the second man was suspected of firing at the driver
Authorities believed the men had misidentified the vehicle as one that belonged to a person who had been harassing a friend
Ocana-Escalante initially was charged with attempted murder
conspiracy to shoot at or from a vehicle and tampering with evidence
Court documents show his charges were reduced to tampering with the 2017 Audi the men had been riding in
The case was stayed in May 2021 while he participated a pre-prosecution diversion program
He was charged last month with aggravated DWI after crashing into another vehicle with a blood-alcohol level of about three times the legal limit for driving
It notes the case was dismissed without prejudice to allow the District Attorney’s Office time to collect sufficient evidence before proceeding
“The Defendant’s violent conduct toward a small child is of a kind that shocks the conscience,” prosecutors wrote in the motion
The allegations strongly suggest that the Defendant possesses a characteristic of cruelty toward the powerless
such that the prospect of his release would alarm society.”
A District Court hearing to determine whether Ocana-Escalante will be held until his trial is scheduled Sept
He asked anyone with information about the case to call police at 505-428-3710 or Detective Ian Freeman at 505-955-5418

Municipal police are responsible for the shooting death of a 22-year-old actor in México state on Friday
claim the man’s father and thousands of social media users
According to the México state Attorney General’s Office (FGJ)
Octavio Ocaña – best known for his role as Benito in the television series Vecinos (Neighbors) – accidentally shot himself after losing control of his SUV while being pursued by Cautitlán Izcalli municipal police in Atizapán de Zaragoza
a municipality located north of Mexico City
Cautitlán Izcalli police had ordered Ocaña to stop but he accelerated instead
precipitating a high-speed chase that continued into Atizapán
Ocaña accidentally shot himself in the head as he crashed into a retaining wall
“As a result of the dynamic of this accident the driver presumably set off the firearm he was carrying in his right hand,” it said in a statement
Ocaña was still alive when police reached his vehicle
but died after arriving at a hospital in the México state municipality of Naucalpan
The two passengers allegedly told investigators that the actor removed his gun from the vehicle’s glove compartment when the chase began
The FGJ said results of toxicology tests showed that Ocaña was driving under the influence of alcohol and marijuana
An empty tequila bottle and empty beer cans were found in the actor’s vehicle and the man traveling in the front passenger seat told investigators they had been drinking
Ocaña’s father said the gun found in his son’s car belonged to him but claimed that it wasn’t the weapon that shot him
“The police killed Octavio Ocaña,” Octavio Pérez said
asserting that the bullet wound his son sustained was not consistent with the caliber of his firearm
He said Ocaña had a Defense Ministry license for his gun and carried it due to the high levels of insecurity in Mexico
Pérez also challenged the FGE’s claim that his son was under the influence of marijuana
my son wasn’t an alcoholic that drank for two days straight because he had responsibility
I’m a businessman [in Tabasco] and he was in Mexico City taking care of my company there,” he told a YouTube program hosted by television presenter Gustavo Adolfo Infante
Pérez said his son’s death had “destroyed” him but vowed to fight for the truth and until all those responsible are in prison
Using photos and videos of the car chase and crash to back up their claims
thousands of social media users also blamed municipal police for Ocaña’s death
Twitter and Facebook users said the weapon with which the actor allegedly shot himself could have been planted in the vehicle by police
They also shared images of a Cautitlán Izcalli police vehicle with a dent in its front to support a claim that it rammed into the back of Ocaña’s SUV
Social media users also shared video footage that allegedly shows police beating the two other men who were in the vehicle
a video posted to social media allegedly shows police offers in civilian clothing at the scene of the crash on Sunday
“What do they want to erase?” one Twitter user asked
asserted that the FGE’s version of events “is one of the stupidest false reports in the recent history of official criminal cover-ups.”
“The setup is clear,” said Facebook user Cesar Portillo Arias in a post below the FGE’s statement
“Too bad that the Attorney General’s Office continues to lend itself to these kinds of violations of the rule of law.”

The May 24 incident involving Carlos Ocana

The coroner’s office listed the cause of death as blunt-force trauma to the head and said the death was accidental
said they could not discuss details of the incident

our results indicate that animals and fungi evolved under two contrasting trajectories of genetic change that predated the origin of both groups
The gradual establishment of two clearly differentiated genomic contexts thus set the stage for the emergence of Metazoa and Fungi
Genomic data were produced for the four species in bold
Fungi have a larger fraction of their gene content involved in metabolism
also reported remarkable gene originations at the metazoan root
To quantify what contributed more to the pool of gene families involved in functions that are particularly important for multicellularity (K
whether pre-metazoan gene originations from Holozoa or those that occurred at the metazoan root
we traced the evolutionary trajectories of these three categories after the divergence of Opisthokonta
These divergent trajectories started immediately after the split of their last common ancestor (Opisthokonta) into Holozoa and Holomycota and continued during the emergence and diversification of Metazoa and Fungi
situating the immediate ancestors of Fungi and Metazoa in substantially different latent potentials from a genomic perspective
This is especially relevant for the case of animals
Had not animal ancestors experienced a continuous and long-standing evolutionary trajectory that had a compounding effect on the genomic potential for multicellularity
The origin of animals may be seen as a drastic evolutionary event
but our taxon-rich analysis shows how the potential for that to happen was generated gradually on a genomic level
Our results illustrate the importance of analysing evolutionary transitions in the light of their evolutionary prehistory
and for an explanation of the algorithm that we developed to correct it)
we also detected Pirum gemmata contamination in the proteome of Abeoforma whisleri
and few from Ichthyophonus hoferi in Sphaerothecum destruens
indicating cross-contamination problems between these ichthyosporeans datasets
these cases of contamination neither affected the phylogenetic inference
as these species were only used for species tree reconstruction purposes
clusters included 1,117,614 eukaryotic sequences and 58,017 non-eukaryotic sequences (53,168
All these 1,175,631 sequences were distributed among 413,445 clusters
clusters included sequences mostly from Opisthokonta (50 species)
but also from 18 representatives of other major eukaryotic groups (euk_db dataset)
We submitted every post-MAPBOS OGs (or clusters) to a gene tree inference pipeline
consisting of using MAFFT-linsi for the alignment step
trimAl [–gappyout] for alignment trimming and IQ-TREE for the phylogenetic inference
IQ-TREE was run using the LG+G4 model and sampling 1,000 optimized [-bnni] UFBoot replicates for every gene tree
Inflated gene counts are expected to produce an excess of duplication inferences in the reconciliations
whereas (2) unexpressed genes may be confused by gene losses
(3) Transcriptomes are harder to decontaminate due to the lack of genomic context information regarding neighbouring genes
intron sequences or compositional features of the coding sequence
whereas (4) those sequences predicted from partial isoforms are expected to lead to inaccuracies to the software used to detect gene fusions (see below)
(5) Accurate gene contents were also important given that the reconciliation software used (see above) infers the values for parameters such as gene duplication and loss rates from the data
We used CompositeSearch57 to identify composite gene families
families of genes whose protein sequence is composed by fractions—for example
protein domains—that are separately found in other
CompositeSearch requires as input all-against-all sequence alignments
for which we used the same BLASTp results used for OrthoFinder (see above)
although alignment hits corresponding to draft_euk_db species not represented in euk_db were removed
Before being used as input for CompositeSearch
BLASTp results were preprocessed with cleanBlastp (included in CompositeSearch) to retain only the hit with the highest score among all hits involving the same query–target pair
CompositeSearch was run with the default parameters and forcing the software [-f] to work on the clusters resulting from the processing of the OG from OrthoFinder by the MAPBOS pipeline
Families with only one sequence were discarded as potential components [-y]
Prok_db sequences were not included in composite inferences as alignments between prok_db and euk_db sequences were done with DIAMOND instead of BLASTp due to computational time limitations
Because we work at the gene family level (clusters)
we only considered as composites those clusters in which >50% of members were detected as composite sequences
CompositeSearch detects as a composite any sequence that matches with distinct subsets of sequences (components
from other OGs) in different regions of its sequence
Whereas fusion events may lead to composite sequences
not all sequences detected as composites necessarily originated from a gene fusion process
a sequence found to be composite by the software could have originated de novo in a given ancestral lineage (gene X–domains A and B)
that gene could have been split into two separate genes (gene Y–domain A and gene Z–domain B)
the software would detect the gene X as a composite because some part of the sequence would be aligned by the gene Y (first component) and the other by the gene Z (second component)
To retain only bona fide fusion composite sequences
we only considered those composite sequences in which all their components were inferred to have a more ancestral origin than the composite
This was done to minimize the false-positive inferences of fusions
at the expense of losing potential fusion events in which
both the composite and the components may have originated in the same node of the phylogeny
using DIAMOND for the alignments of euk_db sequences against the eggNOG database (the functional category ‘S: unknown function’ was ignored as it does not include functional information)
the functional categories and KO annotations of every cluster were determined by averaging the annotations of the corresponding cluster members
if a cluster includes two sequences (SeqA and SeqB)
and SeqA was annotated with the functional category K and SeqB with the functional categories B and K
that cluster would be annotated as 0.75K and 0.25B (0.5K from SeqA + 0.25K from SeqB
From the reconciliation analyses (see ‘Gene tree inference and reconciliation analyses’)
losses and gene contents of every OG in every node in the phylogeny
we determined the absolute representation of all functional categories by crossing the information between the number of copies of every OG in the node and the relative representation of every functional category among the functional information of the OGs
The same was done to determine the KO contents of every node
The percentage of metabolic genes of every node was determined by dividing the number of KOs with metabolic annotations by the total number of genes in the node (besides KOs belonging to the ‘metabolic category’
those belonging to the category ‘membrane transport’ were also considered as metabolic genes)
The relative representation of every functional category in every node was determined by dividing the absolute value of every category in the node by the sum of the absolute values of all functional categories in the node
Gains and losses of functional categories and KOs were determined by comparing the contents of every node with those of its immediately preceding node
More specific statistical analyses are detailed below

History books may say that the 1971 Tour de France was won by the Cannibal
And Eddy Merckx was indeed the first rider to cross the finish line in Paris
But those who watched the race back in the day tell a different story
A story of a troubled man who beat Eddy and made it look easy
The frail and always restless rider believed to be a victim of a curse
That was the only explanation the Spaniard could find for not being able to show the world the genius for cycling he was certain he had
Ocaña faced all the troubles you could think of
health issues and unfortunately even mental health issues
everything seemed to have fallen into place
Despite Ocaña’s triumph at La Vuelta the previous year
La Marca complained about the end of an era
The likes of Bahamontes and Jiménez were thought to never appear again
And instead of focusing on their countryman
Bernard Thévenet and Lucien van Impe to be the biggest threat to Merckx’s hattrick
claiming he was the only one who was there not just to try to beat him
That was a common problem of the Cannibal’s generation
He won so many times (one in every three races he entered)
that the opponents were simply content with fighting for second places..But that was not Ocaña’s way
Nobody is,” Ocaña told the journalists defiantly when asked the about the Belgian
The 1971 Grand Bouclé started in a fast and furious fashion
Stage 2 saw a group of 15 riders finish 10 minutes before the peloton
and it was almost certain that the overall winner would come from that group
Ocaña was there as well and used the Puy de Dome climb during stage 8 to attack the Belgian for the first time
nothing in comparison with what happened on stage 11
Ocaña attacked on the Cote de Laffrey climb
and Merckx didn’t find the strength to follow
Each time the motorbike would come down to the poursuivants
None of the GC favourites could believe what they were seeing
because he had 4 minutes on the others,” Ocaña’s team’s GM Maurice de Muer recalled
it will be five in a moment,’ he yelled back at me
I came back to him shortly saying that he got those 5 minutes
And he would just yell back that now it’s going to be six
It was one of the most memorable stages in all of Tour de France history
Ocaña crossed the finish line 8 minutes and 42 seconds ahead of Merckx
61 riders didn’t make the time cut because of the Spaniard’s deadly pace
The organizers had to extend the limit so that there was someone to continue racing
it was out of this world,” Merckx admitted years after the race
In the very next stage Merckx cut down Ocaña’s lead by 2 minutes
The Cannibal rode so hard he crossed the finish line in Marseille an hour early
The local mayor swore to never allow the Tour de France in his city again
The Belgian hoped to gain more time in the time trial
but Ocaña was just 11 seconds slower than him
he led the race by a hardly believable 7 minutes and 23 seconds
and the mountains greeted it with a particularly harsh weather
Ocaña was right on his wheel and thus fell over him
Zoetemelk came around the bend and hit Ocaña in the back
The overall leader was taken to the hospital by a helicopter and his GC hopes were done
There is a memorial at the scene of the accident on the Col de Menté in the Pyrenees
Eddy Merckx refused to wear the yellow jersey the next day in tribute to Ocaña
Because there will always be doubts,” Merckx said after finishing in Paris
Ocaña had to wait till 1973 to enjoy his Tour de France triumph
The two never met again in the peak of their forms
The Spaniard continued to battle his curse
he retreated to a vineyard in the south of France
Eddy Merckx even helped Ocaña find some customers
The rider with no limits and no luck at all died on 19th May 1994

A 19-year-old man allegedly disarmed a police officer and tasered the officer with his own taser during an attempted arrest in Round Lake Park, prosecutors said.
Moises Ocana-Manon, 19, of the 100 block of Fairlawn Drive in Round Lake Park, was charged with aggravated battery of a peace officer, aggravated unlawful use of a weapon, domestic battery and resisting a peace officer.
Lake County Assistant State’s Attorney Dino Katris said during a bond hearing that officers were called to a residence in Round Lake Park for a domestic battery call on Sunday.
The grandfather of Ocana-Manon reported that his grandson pushed him.
The grandmother told officers she witnessed Ocana-Manon push her husband and act in an aggressive manner, Katris said.
Officers observed the victim to have red marks on him.
Officers attempted to arrest Ocana-Manon for the battery but he resisted arrest.
Katris said Ocana-Manon grabbed a police officer’s taser and discharged the taser, hitting the officer in the chest.
Police were eventually able to take the man into custody.
Lake County Judge Theodore Potkonjak ordered Ocana-Manon held on a $200,000 bond.
Ocana-Manon has been released from the Lake County Jail after posting $20,000 cash, court records show.
A preliminary hearing is scheduled in the case for July 13.

Text description provided by the architects. They come to us because there is a problem. Their private garden, that used to have sunset views over an infinity pool, has recently been blocked by a big raw grey 15x9 mts. wall.
They feel emotionally affected by that threatening wall whose spatial and material properties are by all means negative. It is flat, raw, hard, dry, dull, gloomy, gray, challenging and impenetrable.
The concept must go far beyond a regular vertical garden. They have already discarded former projects. A simple green wall does not keep it from still being a wall. Negative properties are alleviated, not eliminated.
We propose an active element that reacts to light and climate issues, with reflections, vegetation and sprayed water. Besides creating a new horizon, it climatizes the garden and creates new spaces and tours on it. To be clear, it is a toy that can recall their previous sunset experience.
ModelThere are technical difficulties, related to previous conditions and production development.
© Imagen SubliminalPrevious conditions difficulties are that we need an independent structure. We can not rely on the bad wall and there are only three areas of support at different heights. We must avoid and respect water treatment plants, the infinity pool and the stairs that go down to a basement. And, last but not least, we must make the structure modular, since all of it must go through a 2x1 mts. regular entrance door.
3DProduction develoment difficulties are mainly related to the neccesity of micropiling in controversial areas and mounting 33 structural modules (all different and decreasing in thickness towards the sky) without scaffolding
On the other hand we had to make several prototypes of the elements that would provide the reflections
They were executed in polished stainless steel and cylindrically curved to avoid glaring
A network of 60 nebulizers fixed to fork pieces that come out perpendicularly from the structure modules forms a sprayed water cloud
These forks are also intended to allow vegetation to spill over the mirrors
The result is a new horizon that floods both garden and house
Its spatial and material properties have now tunred positive

Share on FacebookShare on X (formerly Twitter)Share on PinterestShare on LinkedInJesse Ocaña has been in the restaurant business for forty-five years
we visited him at his second taqueria location on Villa Maria Road in Bryan
Texas and spent a lot of time in the kitchen with his father who worked as a chef
Many of the recipes he uses today are tried and true
"These recipes have been handed down for years and years from him and from his family when he grew up in Mexico
so it was a great experience with my dad," explained Ocaña
He opened Jesse's Taqueria and Bakery on E 29th Street in Bryan in 2012
it has become a popular breakfast and lunch spot
Jesse's Taqueria #2 on Villa Maria Road opened in the summer of 2018
One major difference is that the new restaurant serves dinner too
There are a few dinner plates that are only available at the #2 location
With a program that can accommodate seventy resident patients and twenty users of the day center
the project takes as point of departure the idea that the centers for the elderly must be optimistic places
and proposes creating a special atmosphere in a vital space dominated by free time and in which the users will spend the last years or months of their lives: a place that must not look like a hospital
with neither corridors nor architectural obstacles
developed on one floor and in which all the rooms open up to a ‘garden-lobby’ and to communal areas
The project takes as point of departure the main program unit: the room
The addition of these units adjusts little by little to the geometry of the built area
which closes upon itself leaving a large interior garden
A facility that offers total accessibility
safety and respect for individual privacy; and that also eases access to visitors
the project starts from a construction criterion that permits raising a 6,000 square-meter-building plus another 6,000 of gardens with the cost that a 4,000-square-meter building of this type would have
The project starts from the basic program unit – the room
which must have ideal dimensions and double circulation – towards the exterior
The space it creates when it closes upon itself will be a large interior garden serving as main – and direct – access to each one of the rooms
The built area is wrapped up by closing the piece to the exterior following the alignments marked by the program
The rooms open up to a large clover-shaped interior garden that serves as principal and direct access; the three lobes are planted with flowers of different colors related with the programs they house
The interior garden designs each one of the three lobes with flowering plants that bloom in different colors
related with the programs they are going to house
Between the residential area and the straight outer perimeter of the building emerges a ‘circulation-space’: an open
flat and unusual space that accommodates both the program and circulation uses
The enclosures consist of cellular polycarbonate in two-layer compositions
The interior skin of the flat exterior enclosure is designed according to its geographic orientation: blue and greenish plastics along the north facade
The bare reinforced concrete slab that forms the ceiling has orientation lines drawn up as the projection of the topographical plan of the quarries upon which it was founded
There are three areas with three ranges of colors
matching the tones filtered by the polycarbonates
stressed by the color of the adapted freestanding bathrooms
This palette of atmospheres that change in density and light intensity offers users a variety of choices concerning where to go and where to stay
where one can move from one point to another without following the same itinerary
It is moreover designed as a space of events able to stimulate the senses and lessen the spatial tedium and disorientation common to geriatric centers
