The Thursday training session at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper was a little different to usual. After a normal workout in the morning, in the evening the Barça squad played a friendly behind closed doors against Catalan fourth tier outfit UE Olot.
In his first chance to try out his ideas in a real game situation, Hansi Flick opted to start with Iñaki Peña, Julian Araujo, Sergi Domínguez, Iñigo Martínez, Balde, Romeu, Olmedo, Guille, Vitor Roque, Darvich and Toni.
The visiting side consisted of P. Ballesté, Uri Ayala, Salvans, Terma, De Marci, Arnau Forés, Yaya, Uri, Chema Moreno, Torras and R. Costa, with David López Jiménez officiating.
There may have been no fans at this game, but there were some top class onlookers, including club president Joan Laporta, sporting vice-president Rafael Yuste, board member Joan Solé, director of the football area Deco, the coordinator of the football area Bojan, the director of youth football José Ramon Alexanco and Enric Masip.
A goalless first half was followed by a more prolific second, in which Barça was represented by a completely fresh line-up of Hector Fort, Quim Junyent, Gerard Martín, Astralaga, Arnau Pradas, Andrés Cuenca, Lenglet, Pau Víctor, Pablo Torre, Álex Valle, Marc Bernal and Marc Casadó.
Pablo Torre needed just two minutes to break the deadlock with what would turn out to be the only goal of a very useful exercise for all concerned. They players will now be taking a couple of days off and on Sunday will train for the last time before flying off to the United States.

Barcelona enjoyed a behind-closed-doors friendly with Olot on Thursday as they continue their pre-season preparations
Pablo Torre scored the only goal of the game as a youthful-looking Barca side picked up a narrow win
Olot coach Pedro Dolera spoke about the game afterwards and was happy to share his thoughts when asked who he thought were Barca’s most impressive performers
It has created difficult situations for us to defend,” he told RAC1
They knew how to give the ball the point of speed that they had lacked.”
Dolera also had a few thoughts on Flick’s Barcelona as the German took charge of the team for the first time
“It reminded me a lot of Barça of yesteryear
with a 4-3-3 and very intense pressure,” he added
I saw them with an intensity that they didn’t have the other years.”

On a hot summer afternoon Lance Olot Small affixed a small pink basket on a tiny pink bike as its six-year-old rider
Josie Abigail Ortiz watched him with a smile
When he was done she raised a tiny palm and yelled
The little girl wasn't the only person who high-fived Small that afternoon
There was a steady parade of bike riders who needed bicycle tires pumped or chains greased or gears adjusted
And everyone on the westside knows Small is the master of not just these ordinary repairs
"He can fix just about anything," said Josie's dad Hector Ortiz
"We have recycled beat up bicycles from the trash
and he can turn them into new rides."
Small has become a mini-Instagram celebrity in the beachside community with happy customers posing alongside his van
which he began parking at 7th and Westminster Avenues in 2008 alongside the Oakwood Recreation Center.
Street vendors like Lance Olot Small
are supported by new measures passed by the L.A
“The City Council’s decision to lower the annual vending permit fee marks a crucial stride towards equity and fairness for our vibrant community of street vendors in Los Angeles,” Councilmember Curren Price said after the vote
“By acknowledging the financial realities that these vendors face
we are honoring their hard work and dedication
This ordinance will alleviate financial burdens
allowing more vendors to comply with regulations and cultivate an inclusive
Small said he is grateful for the city's support
his business is really about "people and the community." He believes there is something special about the resident of Venice
"I have very loyal customers because people love this rea and don't leave
My entire operation is word of mouth mostly and repeat customers."
Small is not just popular with people on his corner
Dogs are also pulling owners toward the Bike Whisperer
It could be because of his stash of treats at the back of the van.

A festival of football is coming to Catalonia this December in the second round of the Copa del Rey.
On Wednesday, teams learned their opponents for the next round. FC Barcelona were not involved in the draw as they have a by until the third round as they are competing in January's Super Cup.
Espanyol will travel to Barbastro, located in nearby Aragon, in round two, while fellow La Liga outfit Girona will go to UD Logroñes.
Gimnàstic de Tarragona, who play in the Primera Federació division, the third tier of Spanish football, welcome SD Huesca in the next round.
Meanwhile, there are three teams who play in even lower divisions competing in the next round of the cup.
UE Sant Andreu, based in the Sant Andreu neighborhood of Barcelona, have been drawn at home to Real Betis, winners of the 2022 Copa del Rey.
CE Europa, from Gràcia in the Catalan capital, will play UD Las Palmas at home.
Both UE Sant Andreu and CE Europa play in Segona Federació, the fourth tier of Spanish football.
UE Olot, from northern Catalonia, have also been drawn a glamour tie at home to seven-times Europa League winners Sevilla. Olot normally ply their trade in the Tercera Divisió, the fifth tier of Spanish football.
Kickoff times have not yet been set but the ties will be played next week, across the midweek slots on Tuesday-Wednesday-Thursday, December 3-4-5.
Xavi Molist, the manager of UE Sant Andreu, told Catalan News that he and his squad are "happy" with the draw that pits them against an "exciting opponent" in a game that will "fill the Narcís Sala" stadium again. "I hope that people enjoy the match and the moment."
"We will try to compete against Betis, we know that they are superior and it is normal for them to go through, but we will try to do our best," Molist added, "just like we did against Mirandés."
Sant Andreu reached the second round by upsetting second-division Mirandés 2-1. "We will compete and try to get through the play-offs."
Olot manager Pedro Dolera said his team are also "very happy" about the draw, "because it was one of the teams we wanted" to play against, "for the history, for the fans."
"We're very happy to have a club of that level come here," Dolera said. "Hopefully there will be a huge attendance and we'll fill the stadium." A big turnout would be "perfect" for the finances of the "humble" club as well, as the home team will surely get one of their largest gates in years as they welcome a giant of European football.
The manager also proudly stated that the pitch will be in fine condition for the game, as that's the style of surface he prefers.
"If we're playing at our highest level and keep a good rhythm for the first half hour, if we manage to score a goal, anything could happen." Yet, Dolera is aware that "it's normal that they would hammer us, that we have a 1% chance" at going through.

Just days before their much-awaited trip to the United States
FC Barcelona conducted a friendly game against Olot
It was the first unofficial game in charge for new coach Hansi Flick
who deployed a series of youngsters as part of his plans to assess the squad ahead of the new season
Guillermo Fernandez and Antonio Fernandez started the game against Olot
very few players who started against Olot were actually able to impress
As reported by SPORT
there were three standout performers from Barcelona’s narrow victory over Olot
all of whom came on as substitutes at the half-time break
Pablo Torre, for one, was the obvious headline maker as the young midfielder scored the only goal of the game. Coming back from a mixed spell at Girona, Torre impressively dribbled past a couple of defenders to score the winner
Another player who impressed on the day was Marc Bernal
The 17-year-old midfield prodigy looked good in the centre of the park and looks set to have earned himself more opportunities
Having recently signed a new contract at Barcelona
the youngster showed excellent technical skill and made sure Olot did not cause any problems on the counter
The performance of these young midfielders is a major positive for Barcelona
who are currently short on numbers in the middle of the park
While Pedri is hopeful of returning to action soon
Gavi and Frenkie de Jong out on the sidelines
can emerge as excellent in-house alternatives for Barcelona in the number six position
these are still early days and it will be interesting to see whether or not these players can continue their momentum as Barcelona embark on a crucial trip across the Atlantic

Hansi Flick was in charge of the first unofficial game as a Barcelona coach as the Catalans played a friendly against UE Olot
just days before the pre-season tour to the United States
Although Barcelona were only able to secure a 1-0 victory
there were many positives to take from the performance of the team
which mainly comprised many young players and a few veterans
As reported earlier midfield trio of Marc Bernal, Marc Casado and Pablo Torre were the main positives from Barcelona’s win over Olot
A recent report from Mundo Deportivo has offered comprehensive detail on Hansi Flick’s key takeaways from Barcelona’s win over Olot
Flick was particularly impressed with two veterans Oriol Romeu and Inigo Martinez
Both played their roles well and were able to see through the narrow advantage
who might require the services of both these veterans going into the new season
Flick was impressed by the young midfield duo Bernal and Casado working in tandem
who are operating with limited depth in the midfield unit heading into the new season
One would expect either Bernal or Casado to step up and make an impact as Barcelona desperately look to fill the void left by Sergio Busquets
Pau Victor and Pablo Torre showed good levels of fitness and performance
with the latter even showcasing excellent composure to score the only goal of the game
Other youth players who impressed coach Hansi Flick include Noah Darvich
Although they were not the best performers against Olot
they all showed glimpses of brilliance and could flourish under the right guidance
This makes Barcelona’s US tour all the more interesting
as all of these young players will receive more opportunities to make an impact for the senior team

Barcelona played their first game under new manager Hansi Flick on Thursday as they took on UE Olot in a behind-closed-doors friendly at the Ciutat Esportiva complex
The Catalans prevailed 1-0 winners thanks to a second-half strike from Pablo Torre, with youngsters like Marc Bernal and Marc Casado making an impression during the match
spoke to the media and heaped praise on Hansi Flick’s Barcelona
particularly highlighting the team’s physicality and intensity
“It reminded me a lot of the Barça side we’ve always played, with a 4-3-3 formation and very intense pressing. On a physical level, I’ve seen them with a level of demand that they didn’t have in other years,” said Dolera as quoted by SPORT
The Olot coach also had words of praise for Flick and the way he conducted himself
he wanted to influence a lot with the pressure.”
Olot had previously faced Barcelona under Ronald Koeman in 2021 and Dolera insisted that there was simply ‘no comparison’ between the two teams
stating that Flick’s side showed much greater intensity
“I remember the match against Koeman’s Barça and there is no comparison
They raised the level of pressure all over the pitch
He created difficult situations for us to defend,” Dolera further remarked
They were able to give them the speed on the ball that they were lacking.”
FC Barcelona’s first friendly of the preseason is against Olot (Wednesday 7.00pm CEST
Here’s the lowdown on the lower league club that’s celebrating its centenary this year
Olot is a town of around 35,000 people that lies about 50km outside of Girona in the foothills of the Catalan Pyrenees
It is particularly known for its stunning natural surroundings
The town’s first football games were played in 1902
who was president of FC Barcelona from 1915-15)
A military-man who spent his summers in in Olot
and in 1912 he invited the Barça founder to join him on a holiday in Olot
They spent the time establishing a solid team
ready for their first ever game in September of that year against none other than FC Barcelona
Although the modern-day Unió Esportiva Olot grew out of those developments
and Wednesday’s game forms part of its 100th anniversary celebrations
Curiously the club originally wore a blaugrana strip modelled on Barça’s
The club’s original crest also had a very similar design to that of Barça’s
but that too had to be changed under fascist rule
UE Olot has spent its entire history in the lower leagues
playing most seasons in the old Third Division (fourth tier) but often dropping much lower
The last decade saw them climb to their highest level ever
but following the restructure of the pyramid
they started 2021/22 in the fifth tier Tercera División RFEF
but Olot successfully negotiated the playoffs to earn a head-to-head with Tenerife B for a place in this season’s Segunda División RFEF
The club has developed a policy of only fielding players raised within the youth systems of Catalan speaking regions
the squad is entirely amateiur but does feature some players with previous experience as professionals
including defender Alan Baró (Melbourne Victory and Central Coast Mariners in Australia)
midfielders Eloi Amagat (Girona and New City in MLS) and Héctor Simón (Espanyol)
The Estadi Municipal holds 4,000 spectators and is expected to be a sell-out for this game
It has a natural grass pitch that according to an unverified legend was designed to be the exact same size as Barça’s field at the time
The first ever game at the ground after it opened in 1955 was played between the Olot and Barça youth teams
which has been used at such stadiums as San Mamés (Athletic Club)
RCDE Stadium (Espanyol) and the Wanda Metropolitano (Atlético Madrid)
Olot have been regular opponents of Barça B over the years
but although there have been ten friendlies with the FC Barcelona senior team in the past
this will be the first since a 3-1 win for Barça in 1980
when Helenio Herrera was in charge and enjoyed scheduling midweek friendlies against local opposition for his players
Olot's ground was also recently visited by the veterans from the Barça Players Group (see picture above)
Immerse in one of the exceptional natural spots common to the province of Gerona
the town of Olot is particularly careful when it comes to its expansion on the surrounding areas in order to avoid destroying on its growth that which constitutes one of its most valuable goods
In the area knows as Tussols-Basil – situated between the city and the rural green park which runs along the river bed – a series of installations devoted to leisure and sports constitute the municipal project that tries to outline the encounter of the natural park and the urban fabric
To the partially completed path and the initially built swimming pavilion
an athletics track has been added and in a near future a football field will be built: two installations whose large extension set out from the very beginning a series of problems concerning their adequate location
In two clearings of the woods of white oak
the athletics track and the soccer field align their axis in parallel sliding between one another to reduce their visual impact
separated by a tongue of land of volcanic origin
The recently concluded process of construction of the athletics track was accompanied by the controversy arisen among local ecologists – who wanted to preserve each and every one of the existing vegetal species – and the athletes who considered the trees a visual obstacle for the development of the sports events
The executed proposal pursues an intermediate solution between these positions
keeping the most valuable oak trees at the center of the track in such a way that the circuit advances amidst the light filtered through the branches
transforming the short and medium distance competitions in an experience of immersion into nature
Situated between a natural park and the urban center
the athletics track minimizes its presence sliding among the tree trunks; the banks carved on the hillside serve as occasional grandstand
With the spectators situated right next to the track
the trees act as sifters that alter the perception of the track
with leaves whose density varies every season
Only the four masts that support the artificial illumination of the installations – formed by triangular metallic structures that tilt dynamically over the track –break in upon the green horizon of the park
raising as watchtowers that guard the dense foliage
The uneven flanks of the existing topography were carved following the shape of small benches of wavy contours that act as occasional grandstands on days when sports events are held or as resting spots along the park circuit during the remaining part of the season

Designing its Casa Nus, the plot of land presented a challenge to the team at Arnau Estudi d’Arquitectura
The site is defined by two streets which start together only to later diverge in distance and height
swallowing up the remains of a small half-collapsed house between dividing walls
the architects chose to embrace this complexity and create a knot to connect the different elements
and forms that converge in this dense part of the urban fabric
The double road alignment allowed for the volume to be divided between two distinct sections: the garden and the house
The difference in height between the two streets allowed for the neat leaning of one volume against the other
while the road access was arranged underneath the house
This created a sense of depth and dynamism that is rarely seen in residential architecture
Arnau Estudi d’Arquitectura describes the ‘sculptural forcefulness’ of the concrete to take center stage in the design of its Casa Nus
The materiality of permanence was necessary for a transitional space
and the architects have used it to great effect
The result is a building that is both ‘contradictory and necessary,’ an addiction like any other
The design team has succeeded in creating a work of architecture that not only resolves the duality of the alignments of an urban framework but also adds to the richness and complexity of its surroundings
The renovation in the Catalan town of Olot is a testament to the power of architecture to transform spaces and create new possibilities

Xavi called up 21 players to the squad for the trip to Olot, who are travelling to the game by coach on Wednesday afternoon. These include new signing Franck Kessie

Like the country as a whole it has been changed out of all recognition in the last two decades by migration.
Walking the narrow medieval streets one evening this week I came across people with roots all over the world. The cheering thing – given Europe's drift to the right – is that in this Catalan town most claimed to feel welcome.
"Olot is equal to Fez," shouted a jovial group of teenagers when I asked whether they liked living there. Two of them, Warda and Natasha, had moved with their parents from Morocco; the third, Jesus, was Catalan-born. There seemed to be none of the tension and less of the segregation obvious in French towns such as Perpignan, not far away.
It would be foolish to pretend migrants to Spain do not face great challenges. There is much discrimination and unemployment but so far, despite the economic crash, little sign of a resurgent racist right. In Olot, the mayor has encouraged integration and it seems to have worked.
Things are more tense in neighbouring Vic, where immigrants have found themselves at the centre of an unpleasant political battle. The city has banned residents from erecting satellite dishes and hanging out washing, supposedly to preserve its historic appearance but really a snub intended to make life unpleasant for north African migrants crowded into tenement buildings.
Yet for the most part, Spain has proved tolerant: 1 million people claimed legal status in an amnesty in 2000. More than 10% of Spain's population was born abroad. With a long coast facing north Africa and strong links to Latin America, it has been the first stop for many migrants to Europe. Even in Olot, the diversity is striking: much wider than in an equivalent English country town.
I asked a group of Chinese students – on a course preparing them for university – whether they felt accepted. They seemed surprised by the question: the answer was yes. All claimed to have learnt Spanish and Catalan, as well as English.
The linguistic divide is one way Spain keeps its migrants apart. A member of the pro-independence ERC party told me "obviously you can be Catalan and black – but to integrate the best way is to learn the language".
Speaking Spanish, as many migrants do, is not good enough for everyone.
"I'm learning Catalan, but slowly, it isn't easy," I was told by Basago, a gently-spoken Gambian – Olot is home to many migrants from west Africa. He said he had found it hard to get work or a place to live. Landlords wanted white tenants, he said.
Nearby, Fatima, who 20 years ago arrived in Olot from Africa aged 16, disagreed. "People sometimes used to shout 'go back to the Canary Islands,' " she said. With five children in the local school, all learning Catalan, she said she felt happy in the town. At the last election she voted for a Catalan nationalist party.
Laden with shopping in the same street, Iris, originally from El Salvador, said the debate over Catalonia's political future did not involve her. "I'm ill and can't work – to me this is just Spain, but I get looked after." In the cities, perhaps, things are tougher. But an evening's walk in Olot gives some grounds for hope.

Barcelona began the Hansi Flick era with a narrow 1-0 win over UE Olot in a behind-closed-doors friendly on Thursday evening
Pablo Torre was the only goalscorer on the day at Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper but there were some other young talents who also impressed
One such player was defensive midfielder Marc Casado
came on as a substitute in the second half and showed good levels
So much so that Flick was delighted by the midfielder’s display and is now ready to count on him when the actual season starts
Casado also earned praise from UE Olot manager after the game and now one of his teammates
has also shown his admiration for the 20-year-old midfielder
who himself came back to action after six months out due to injury
commented on a social media post made by Casado after the game and called him “Kimmich” likening the La Masia ace to the Bayern Munich midfield mainstay
Alejandro Balde comments on Marc Casadó's latest IG post: "Kimmich 🔥🤣" pic.twitter.com/z0P7hNVHC5
It is no secret that Barcelona have been heavily linked with a move for Joshua Kimmich this summer
although things have gone quiet of late as the Catalans are focusing on the signing of Nico Williams
And it seems that Balde is of the belief that the Blaugrana have uncovered their own Kimmich in Casado
Casado looked solid defensively and fluid in his movement while helping dictate the rhythm of the game alongside Marc Bernal
The 20-year-old has shown great potential throughout his time with Barça Atletic and almost managed to lead them to promotion to La Liga 2
But with his time with the subsidiary side seemingly coming to an end
Casado has started well in his bid to convince Flick about handing him a prominent first-team role
unparelld’arquitectes’ intervention occupies an urban void in the old city center of olot
created when half of can sau building was demolished for street alignment purposes
the empty lot is characterized by a party wall and four stepped buttresses that faced the side façade of the church of the patron saint of olot
the façades take responsibility for giving shape and character to the street,’ explains the local architecture studio
apart from guaranteeing the waterproof qualities of the party wall
the studio has transformed the abandoned lot into a public space where a porous façade offers the background for various cultural activities and social interactions
using hollow bricks, unparelld’arquitectes built an emergency scenery that completes what the four existing buttresses suggest, revealing traces of domestic activity marked on the party wall. the construction comprises three vaults and four niches, accompanied by a minimum of stands. visual artist, quim domene

Barça B played in a very tough match against Olot
with both teams on the front foot in the opening 20 minutes
The locals took advantage on 25 thanks to a great shot from Héctor Simón (1-0)
Barça B kept on attacking and went looking for the equaliser
Alex Collado hit the post from inside the area

Garcia Pimienta's side continued with their intensive way of playing in the second half

unparelld'arquitectes has transformed a demolished house into a stunning facade that now doubles up as a backdrop for local public events and gatherings
The seemingly 'unfinished' facade faces one of the sides of the church of the patron saint of Olot
a house called Can Sau stood on the site and was razed as over half of its volume was affected by street alignment
The de-densification resulted in a void that was characterised by a party wall and four rough concrete buttresses that extended onto the street and disfigured its landscape
Eduard Callís and Guillem Moliner of the local architecture studio were commissioned by the Olot town hall to transform the party wall into a beautiful scenery
Though the brief stated the project to be a pavement intervention
which also included waterproof metal cladding works
the architects decided to reformulate it and give the wall a street identity
“It was urgent to allocate resources to the vertical plane to endow the space with urbanity
the façades take responsibility for giving shape and character to the street,” explain Callís and Moliner
The duo constructed a porous inhabitable facade characterised by three barrel vaults and four niches
the adapted party wall beautifully enmeshed itself in the skin of the buttresses
blurred the boundaries between the old and the new
“It is an unfinished and appropriable structure,” mentions unparelld'arquitectes
Traces of domestic activity marked on the party wall have been included in the facade to keep intact the memories of the past in the street fabric of the future
Light globes dangle from the arched ceiling and softly illuminate the space
The encompassing warmth of the surface is heightened by the exposed red coloured steel bars that support the wall
Visual artist Quim Domene has given the facade its added relevance
by intervening in the niches elements allegorical to the history of the neighborhood
How an ingenious transformation of a ruin has impacted its context can be seen with the people engaging with the resurrected Can Sau in their day to day life - friends spending time in its alcoves
and people celebrating festivals in its backdrop

The drive up to Les Cols in Olot takes you past the darkly brooding, extinct volcanoes of the Garrotxa region of Catalonia, interspersed with golden stone masia farmhouses, Romanesque churches and patchwork fields. The landscape was captured by the 19th-century Olot School of painters in shades of charcoal with muted greys, browns and golds, which sets the tone for a meal at Fina Puigdevall’s restaurant.
The Catalan artisan cheeses are a high point, aged to perfection and arranged like a dramatic still-life on a sleek black trolley.
The wine list digs deeply into Catalonia with a bent towards the natural end of the spectrum. The pairing option included a pleasing Picapoll-Malvasia from biodynamic estate Mas Oller in Empordá; a bright, floral white PX-Moscatell blend from Terroir al Límit in Priorat; a fresh, fragrant Pinot Noir grown at 1,000 metres by Acusp in Costers del Segre; and a Santbru Carinyena from Portal del Montsant’s centenarian vineyards.
Perhaps unexpectedly for Spain (albeit far northeast Spain), Les Cols has something of a Nordic feel to it. Infused with the same locavore spirit, it’s all of a piece with the Garrotxa landscape: cool, understated, austerely beautiful and totally coherent. Tasting menu €95; with wine pairing €150.
Barça B have six points from their last two games after seeing off UE Olot at the Miniestadi thanks to two goals in the opening ten minutes.
It was an intense, quality showing from the reserves, with Chumi getting them off to the perfect start and a hard-working Abel Ruiz very much putting them in the driving seat with a quick second.
Olot were able to pull a goal back before the break, but the situation never really looked too concerning for the hosts, who were finally able to celebrate a victory in front of their own fans.
The likes of Monchu, Riqui Puig and Aleñá gave plenty of demonstrations of the amazing kinds of things they can do at such a tender age, while Mujica was hugely unfortunate not to also get on the scoresheet when his effort rebounded back off the bar.
The rapid pace of the first half meant that the second was never going to be as frantic, and was as much about FCB controlling the game as anything else. And that cause was made somewhat lighter when Olot were reduced to ten men following a second booking for Barnils.
That as good as put the game to bed, and Barça B have shot up the table thanks to three much needed points.
"This will take days to sink in," says Carla Vendrell, the only student in Catalonia to earn the perfect mark of 10 in the university entrance exams this year, because, she says, she "didn't study like crazy" to get such a high result.
The student from Olot who learned at INS La Garrotxa explained to media while on holiday in Menorca that she still "can't believe" she is the only Catalan student to earn a 10/10.
Ecstatic with her results, she pointed to her two years of high school as the key to achieving her perfect score, where she prepared "very well" for the university entrance exams.
From September, Carla will swap the Olot high school classrooms for lecture halls at Pompeu Fabra University where she will study law.
"I was very clear that I wanted to study law and I'm happy because I will be able to do it. Getting the highest grade is something that surprised me and I'm very happy about it," she says.
"I didn't spend a stratospheric amount of hours studying," she adds, as she tries to absorb everything that's happening: "Everyone is calling me," she explains.
Carla is spending some well-deserved vacation days in Menorca. There, she found out the grade she got some days ago, but it wasn't until this Friday that she became aware that it was the only 10 in Catalonia. "I thought there would be three or four more," she told the Catalan News Agency.
Yet, she is not in a hurry to forget about her teachers who have helped her to get to where she is today: "They are the best."
Carla now faces four years of undergraduate studies at Pompeu Fabra University with a host of new professors, but she is clear that the first thing she will do next Tuesday when he returns from holiday is to go see her high school teachers and thank them for their work. "Without them, I wouldn't be here," she concludes.
Academia is not the only area where Carla exceeds.
The young skater has been a member of Olot Skating Club since 2009, and two years ago she was proclaimed world champion in Paraguay. Carla was one of those who won the 13th championship for the most dominant figure skating team.

The Barça head coach also spoke about Kessie

FC Barcelona will be wearing their new gold-coloured away strip in the first friendly of the preseason, at the home of fellow Catalan outfit Olot at 7.00pm CEST Wednesday, a game that’s being screened worldwide on Barça TV+.
The home side will be wearing a special version of their red strip to commemorate their centenary year, and to avoid a colour-clash, their guests will be donning their second strip.
It’s not the first time that Barça have opened a preseason in colours other than their traditional blaugrana. Just two seasons ago, they wore the red and yellow colours of the Catalan flag in their friendly against Nàstic Tarragona at the Estadi Johan Cruyff.
The Barça women have got the preseason off to the perfect start with a humungous victory in the first of their warm-up fixtures. Coached by Fran Sánchez, they won by a staggering 17 goals to nothing against fellow Catalan outfit Olot.
The goals were converted by Irene (3), Pina (3), T. Morató (3), Andressa (2), Ruth, Andonova, Candela, Ainhoa, Laura and Torrodà under pouring summer rain and despite their superiority, the atmosphere at the ground was second to none.
Next up is another friendly on Saturday, this time against AEM Lleida.
“HABITARE” OR A HOME WITHOUT A HOUSE “Habitare”, to inhabit, from the Latin for “to occupy a place”, to live in it. Architecture is capable of summoning a house simply by outlining spaces, shaping their limits with countless resources and nuances. The architecture, the result of how houses are formed, depends on these limits and their formal and material complexity. And yet, a house isn’t by default necessarily a home.

Text description provided by the architects. Shopping is an integral part of the street. Improving the vitality, comfort, and safety of the public space was done by fostering occupancy of closed shops and emphasizing relationships through the shop windows. That was the task developed on the street in the project, Good morning, Carme! (Olot, 2021). In a single year, 1000 m² of shops were opened and 120 m of façade were redesigned in a single square in the old town.
